AU where Alastor Altruist actually did die for his friends...and was subsequently redeemed.

Can you imagine? Realistically speaking this likely wouldn't happen...but wouldn't it be hilarious if it did?

So, like, the hotel finds out Pentious is redeemed. Awesome! Great. They see his angelic form, and know that redemption is possible, so as they're kicking the hotel's efforts into overdrive, some of the residents wonder what their angelic forms would look like.

The crew eventually has a family night, and someone poses the question. Lucifer very readily says that his shapeshifting abilities aren't limited to just himself. So, one by one, any of the residents who want to see what they would look like in Heaven are temporarily transformed. Everyone's having a blast, and either ridiculing or complimenting their future appearances.

Alastor, however, has no interest in this game. He never intends to redeem himself, so the entire thing is irrelevant to him anyways. Though, it is quite entertaining to see just how much more foolish the residents can make themselves look.

But Angel's curious. And then Cherri's curious. And soon the crew is pestering him into at least trying; if he's never going to be an angel, might as well get a glimpse of it just for laughs. And, after a multitude of persistent and annoying requests, he finally relents and allows Lucifer to very temporarily shapeshift him as well.

Lucifer has his fingers crossed that it's something stupid looking. But the moment he does it, he knows he's made a massive mistake.

Because Lucifer.

Is.

Smitten.

He feels like he's found a new god to worship, because Alastor is... stunning. The others are talking, making comments on his appearance, but Lucifer isn't processing any of it. He swears that angelic light is rolling off of Alastor in waves. He can feel the warmth of starlight radiating from him, and his wings- he has wings. Beautiful wings that shine and sparkle and gleam with the grace of the Heavens. His hands itch to plunge into the soft, velvety downy feathers he can see beneath the surface. He just knows that Alastor would look perfect in his nest, safe and warm and content and-

The transformation wears off, and Alastor's back to normal. And everyone is moving on, going back to their normal conversations as if Lucifer's entire being hasn't just been shattered. As if he hasn't just seen the most exquisite, dazzling being in all of Creation. As if he hasn't just realized that he doesn't want this to be just a one-time transformation.

Alastor Altruist does not die for his friends during the extermination

He dies two weeks later due to complications of an angelic injury.

However, instead of thinking about himself in his last moments, he thinks about the other members of the hotel and regrets on what he could not do.

Apparently that was enough to get him into heaven.

But what if they were all redeemed tho ?

This was a fun exercice, as heaven's colour palette isn't really one I'm used to x)

The thing I love the most about Alastor is that we can't truly know what to think of him, if he is being truly manipulative or if there's a genuine undertone behind any of his words, and that allows people to interpret him differently from one person to another. Like "oh he's being so sweet and supportive", to "no actually he's just saying what people want to hear because he's an evil manipulator". Maybe some fans are being too trustful, just like Charlie, and falling into his lies. BUT maybe there's a true genuine undertone to everything he says, maybe he can be a sweetie behind his evil mask. And maybe he'll turn out redeemable. Or not at all. Who knows?

His character could go in two completely different directions in the next seasons and we have no way of telling how he'll turn out. It's still fully open because he showed he can be awful and evil and manipulative, but since there's been very few hints here and there that he could get attached to the hotel, that means he could be sweet despite all that. The mystery and uncertainty is keeping us thinking and hoping and I LOVE that. He's such a unique and amazingly written character.

On a personal note, I think the two different directions his character could take should coexist. Yes, he's going to be a main villain in the future seasons and betray Charlie and the hotel, yes he's an evil manipulator, BUT he could also get attached to them and show redeemable qualities at the same time. For me it would make the heartbreak even greater and his character even more satisfying.

Listen, radioapple or not, when Charlie and Vaggie have a kid, Alastor is GOING to try and get them to call him Grandpa before they call Lucifer Grandpa.

Now that Sir Pentious has been redeemed, do you think Heaven is going to let Charlie and co. know that her hotel works and sinners can in fact find redemption?

Or do you think they're going to 'shelve that topic' until they figure out what's going on--*cough, cough* cover up that information because they fear it will cause a panic or something, upsetting the balance of their familiar order, and all that?

Because I kinda really want his arc in Season 2 to be a Prison Break style quest of him and Emily teaming up and desperately trying to find a way to contact Hell and let his friends know that he's alive and well, so to speak. Maybe secretly building a transmitter or something to communicate with Alastor's radio tower.

Season 3 post-defeat Vox keeps trying to be Evil and Scheme but unfortunately Alastor can read him too well and keeps emotionally manipulating Vox back into compliance and begrudgingly helping

vox is like a kid who yells at their parents I HATE YOU IM RUNNING AWAY and makes it halfway down the block before turning around and trudging back because they realized they don't actually have anywhere to go. and this happens like three times a week

We all noticed how Alastor only ever seems to sing reprises, or how he only ever interrupts songs by others. It fits his personality and character so damn much its amazing.

He sung a reprise of Charlie's song in the pilot to get into her good graces. He interrupted Vox and Lucifer's solos, using their own melody to against them to assert dominance and make the song his own. He takes and steals and bends himself to fit any situation.

But he WASNT DOING that in the finale

His melody was vastly different from the others. It didn't fit in the song.

Even the Vees' verse somewhat fit in with the theme, playing on the same beat, but not Alastor's. He changed the whole tune, grabbed at the lively beat and forced it down.

He was alone. There was no audience to play for. No need to pretend.

For the first time, we got ALASTOR'S song. No masks. No performances for anyone else. He didn't play off others, no. This is HIS melody, and no one else's.

I saw a lot of people complain how his part didn't fit into the song and YES THAT'S THE POINT. HE DOESN'T FIT IN. He only sings to the song's tune when he was back with the others. Alone, he never sung to the same beat. We can see now, clear as day how he never was on the same wavelength as the others. He doesn't associate himself with the main cast, nor with the villainous vees. He works alone, he doesn't need a harmony from companions, he refuses to.

We're finally starting to see him.

I feel like the story line afterwards could go one of two ways.

1). Lucifer is apprehensive about getting Alastor redeemed, because surely others would see his beauty as well. He isn't even allowed in Heaven, how would he compete with other angels for Al's attention?

Or 2). He doesn't even think about that in his haste to get Alastor redeemed, desperate to get his angelic form back. If he manages to succeed, suddenly Alastor has a few new heavenly suitors that Luc has to compete/deal with. Maybe even a certain Michael Morningstar.

Eve was bored. Heaven's wonders could only entertain her for so long. And she was sick of the pity and condescension.

For all that Lucifer was damned to the hell he created for his actions, he at least had Lilith with him to bare the burden.

She was not so lucky. Adam would sooner die a second death than take accountability. And the angels regarded her alone with mixed pity and suspicion.

Adam thrived in heaven, but it stifled her like nothing else. Eternal peace was stagnant; she missed Earth and eagerly watched the planet and her descendents antics with curiosity.

It was her who first put forth the idea of reincarnation. But Sera, bewildered by her desire to leave heaven and wary of having her alive after her first fuckup (honestly, eat one fruit and they never let you forget it!), dismissed her.

It was just her luck that Adam, who ran his mouth faster than his brain could keep up, bragged about getting the Seraphim to agree to his yearly hell extermination where her request had been rejected.

And wasn't it just grand that it was supposed to be a secret? Wouldn't it be a shame for that to get out, right, Sera?

Her reincarnation request was approved. She was the first and only soul to be granted this. Per her request, heaven would be barred from viewing or interfering with her new life.

And it was wonderful! They had a new life, a new name, a new gender! And no one to hold them back and say 'remember the apple, Eve?'

Then they died. And back to heaven they went, unknowing of their past life as Eve. Until Sera accousted them before they'd even made it through the gate.

Sera conjured a glowing white apple and offered it to them. Their curiosity had followed them to this next life so they accepted and the Seraphim smiled sardonically and said, 'Welcome back Eve.'

But they. weren't. EVE! Not anymore. Or at least they were not JUST eve.

But being the only soul to reincarnate, the angels just didn't understand that. Nor would Sera care to, she allowed Adam and Eve's requests only if she could ignore the consequences.

The human who once was Eve, decided to reincarnate again. Anything to escape their dreary eternity in heaven.

And then he died. And Sera offered him the apple, said, 'Welcome back Eve' and on and on the cycle continued.

He tried to lead his next few lifetimes into sin, maybe in hell they'd get at least some of the excitement she'd loved from Earth.

She had no clue how she kept getting into heaven. Over the course of several different lives, they'd committed all sorts of sins. And yet it never stuck.

So they struck a deal, and in his next life, she finally got what she'd been craving.

Final battle Alastor v Vox showdown where Vox breaks down in the middle of the battle screen smashed in begging Alastor to admit that he cared about him he cared about him he fucking did it wasn't an act as he throws Alastor through a building and Alastor screams I CARED ABOUT YOU and Vox is so shocked that he stops attacking his eyes widening his jaw hung open then Charlie comes in from behind and knocks him to the ground while he's distracted, when?
