Just fifteen more minutes and you can go on lunch. It’ll go by in a jiff. That’s what Gabriel kept telling himself as he tapped his foot anxiously behind the photography counter in the drugstore he worked at. It was muggy and all he wanted to do was open a cold bottle of Pepsi and take a smoke break. It had been a slow day, too. It was noon and he’d only had three customers, two to pick up their developed photos and one dropping off his camera.

He rested his elbows on the slightly sticky counter and hid his face behind his wrists, skewing his glasses. A brief commotion made him look up, spying an oddly familiar man quickly putting back a box of cereal he had knocked over, looking around nervously to ensure he hadn’t been seen.

“Don’t worry about it, darlin’, happens all the time,” Gabriel offered in a comforting tone. The man whipped toward him, scratching at his patchy stubble. In an instant, he rushed over to the counter.

“Don’t I know you???”

Gabriel backed up slightly, his defences immediately raised. He coughed into his fist. “Oh, uhm, I don’t know. Maybe.”

“I mean, just lookin’ at you… I’ll get it, give me a second. I wouldn’t forget a face as pleasant as yours.” The man smiled and Gabriel blushed. “‘Specially because I don’t see a lot of people nowadays… small town things, you know how it is.”

Gabriel continued to study him, and the longer he looked, the more it tugged at him that he indeed knew this man. “Take off your hat.”

“My hat…?” The man shrugged and did as he was told, revealing wispy brown hair, matted down from constantly being tucked under his army-green baseball cap. A soft smile came to Gabriel’s face and a light breath escaped him.

“Well shit, if it isn’t Lester Sinclair.”

Lester pointed excitedly at him as he placed his cap back on his head. “Gabriel O’Donoghue, the preacher’s son! Oh man, look at you… you look happy.”

Gabriel looked away bashfully. “Aw-shucks, Les. It’s been too long, how are your brothers?”

Lester opened his mouth to respond, but was cut off by another familiar voice. “I thought I told you to stay in the truck.”

Gabriel looked over, noting the hulking figure of his ex looming around the corner. “Beauregard, what a pleasant reunion,” he greeted coolly. Bo Sinclair stopped in his tracks while his brother looked awkward, rubbing the back of his neck.

“That’s right, I forgot you two… oh, well, er, I forgot to pick up something, it was nice seein’ you again.” Lester squeezed Gabriel’s hand and speed-walked in the opposite direction. Bo approached the counter as Gabriel checked his watch.

“Of all the places I expected you to turn up, it wasn’t here.”

“I could say the same for you, psh, the three of you disappeared off the map same as me. How’s Vincent?”

Stiffly, Bo raised his basket, which included numerous supplies to restock a home medkit alongside a bottle of allergy medicine. “Sick.”

“Oh, poor lamb. Send him my best wishes.”

“He probably doesn’t remember you.”

Gabriel’s eyes widened, though he wasn’t exactly shocked at Bo’s behaviour. “If you’re trying to get back on my good side, this isn’t how you do it. Lester remembers me, you of course remember me, why wouldn’t Vincent?” Bo scowled and Gabriel’s watch beeped. “Thank God. Bo, if you really want to do me a favour,” he reached into his pocket and retrieved his wallet, handing Bo a handful of bills, “get me a pack of Newport Lights and meet me out front, ‘kay?”

Without looking back, Gabriel exited from behind the counter and started for the exit. The bills crumpled in Bo’s large hand.

And word spreads bit by bit, slowly at first, just whispers, until it slowly trickles up to more powerful demons like Vox and the Vees, and then suddenly it's like everyone's scrambling to get on Charlie's good side because, well, if the Radio Demon says so—

Meanwhile Charlie is extremely confused by the sudden influx of sinners falling over themselves in an effort to please her...

starting off with lawrence! (more under the cut)

this was the first one I made, I really had fun with this! mostly projections lmaoao!!

redesign:

I added acne, because I do think due to his, well, not very good diet(?) it would develop acne. I added greyer skin because I think because of the way it's rotting it would make sense she would look more zombie like. also made his hair longer and more visible and messier as well! also other small changes (added scars, changed its hoodie, err and more stuff)

ren:

more projecting!!! I really like the whole weeb ren idea, so I went to the fullest with it. he's so cute...... ahhhh

redesign:

I really had fun editing this! I like to think they'd be more into alternative japanese fashion, especially jirai, visual kei and decora! I want to make a full jirai ren edit one day... one day.......

I added head accessories, gyaru-ish-styled eye makeup, lace, pins, those little star patches, a belt and a star pant chain!! I wanted to follow along with his dark, gray-black colour palette, so they look more visual kei rather than decora!

strade:

metalhead strade!!! I had a dream about this, so I kind of went wild with this one! I kinda see him as a jerk type, the type that would make offensive jokes at the dinner table and be the only one laughing, sort of jerk. I love assholes!!!

redesign:

I loved making this ... added a whole bunch of stuff.

eyeliner + eyeshadow, piercings, tattoo, heterochromia, tooth gap, and also, hand scars!!!!

from his victim's struggling, and his general carelessness, I'd think he'd have scars on his hands, especially on the left one! (he's a leftie!!!!! canonically!)

I also made edits of certain leaks with this headcanons, might make a seperate post for them!

Urgh hate Mabel haters trying to treat her like an adult. Saying well she's done blank blank and blank.

Think about why she did those things. Why she stole the rift. She didn't know, she felt like her brother was fucking ABANDONING HER you realize the things kids will do in desperation? When they're feeling alone and don't know what to do?

Sure Mabel has done some bad things but she's 1- A child 2- A child in a desperate situation nearly EVERY TIME 3- She's not the only one 4- SHE GROWS?

Dipper has done things MANY times and gotten away with it and according to Mabel haters that's not the case. Dipper is one of my favorite characters but I'm not fucking blind he's made mistakes [excluding his sister] many mistakes [shutting his sister out]

Also, someone said that when Mabel found out, unicorns were real that she and her friends decided to punch the shit out of it to someone who had never watched the show

Also a lot of people also use Gideon as an argument, sure yes, he's also a child but the way he was acting was SEVERELY DIFFERENT. Then people argue "Oh he was possessed" Influenced? Maybe. Possessed? No, he still acted the same when the bolo tie was broken when all of his stuff was stripped away

Mabel thought she's get a guy friend to do more classic girly stuff that her brother rejected [Which probably made her feel some kinda way about it], but Gideon somewhat broke that trust and wouldn't listen to her when she told him no

Gideon literally kidnapped her, I mean this is somewhat his parents fault for spoiling him and not giving him the proper lessons but he acted in a way that a lot of bad people will in real life [rapists, abusers, groomers, etc] and that behavior is pretty bad compared to what their claiming Mabel's behavior is [selfishness]

Also not saying Gideon is any of those things, he's literally a child but he shouldn't really know about that stuff. Let alone adopt similar behaviors to abusers. That's why he's held accountable for his actions more than Mabel because of the severity of what he did

okok so number 3 (how do the other characters generally feel about your self insert?)

i think most of them are... either confused by them or see them in a very negative way. most peoples first impressions of it are pretty bad; its very negative and nihilistic (no pun intended) and will push people away who try to get to know it— the only ones who stick around are people who are patient and persistent enough to try to break down the walls its built up for years. the confusion mainly stems from the fact that they tend to do strange things since not only are they learning how to be human, but they just... either have moments of carelessness about hiding their identity as a cosmic horror, or the nihility makes them forget that they supposed to be pretending to be human. either way, it still leaves a lot of people confused and concerned. its just a little creature yknow <3

and finally question 9 (who are your self insert's closest friends?)

its a bit of a hard question to answer... youd think the obvious answer would be my friends s/is (caru, bayani, eugene), boothill, and argenti, but the truth is is that even if theyre close to them, jackrabbit doesnt consider them to be close at all. its had companions in the past (with their past selves) that they have considered "close friends" but ultimately they have always ended up leaving them for one reason or another (but usually due to their status as a pathstrider of nihility causing conflicts; something that has carried over from all their previous identities) and it would rather keep its distance and see them as "acquaintances" rather than "friends", even though it knows deep down that this isnt the case and that it does care about them. it just... would rather not get close so that neither it nor its friends will end up being hurt by it when the time comes and it does end up cutting ties. after all, its as they say... someone always has to leave first.

ive been so depressed lately my tc moved to another schooooooolllll this year😭😭😭😭😭 a month ago i saw him again and my friend immediately started teasing me (im genuinely so sad he moved i never rlly got to take his classes cs he teaches primary and i moved to my current school in y7 but i joined a competition and he taught me one class and i fell in love ever since) and i genuinely find myself creepy sometimes cs wdym a 14 yo girl is in love with a 40 somthing yo guy😭
