Burmy is just a really well-constructed take on its real-world inspiration

Burmy:

Burmy is an interesting one. It's based on bagworms, which make their sheltering cocoons out of materials they find in their environments as camoflage, hence the different forms it can take on. The body itself is neutral black with bright yellow eyes in large part to create a neutral canvas on which its various cloaks can provide a high contrast, which is quite effective design.

Wor-madam does much the same thing but More, and dials up the femininity of the presentation by adding "pigtails" out of its materials and taking on a top heavy "fancy lady with a fur coat" sort of profile, again reflecting the way female bagworms remain in their larval stage their whole lives. It's solid stuff.

Mothim, then, gets the traditional bug pokémon final stage, subtyping into flying and growing wings. The black body remains and is used the same way, as a means to create contrast, but it adopts a bright yellow orange and white scheme, with especially those antennae giving its face a sharp, slightly dangerous-feeling character. It's a honey thief, according to the pokédex, which is perhaps why it has those "fingers" on its wings?

This whole line is just solid design craft, I have no complaints.

Grade: B

Combee:

I've never really given Combee a second thought, but upon re-examining it for this review I realized, hang on, these are freaken brilliant. It's a bee made of hexagons that are fused together into one body, quite literally embodying the way that a bee hive is a kind of gestalt entity, a unity composed of thousands of individuals joined together into one organism. The bees ARE the hive, in this case quite literally.

Vespiqueen takes the metaphor one step further, being a queen bee who is quite literally her own hive. I do feel like she ought to be designed to be way bigger, but the idea here is killer, and if you made it even slightly less kid-friendly, it would make for a killer horror monster.

But this is Pokémon and it's not going to go that far. Still, the top half of the body literally carrying a bee hive around beneath it, shaped in a way to evoke a big regal gown, that's clever, and the blood red eyes and sharp mandibles make a sharp contrast in deadliness with the cheerful adorableness of Combee, visually communicating the scale of difference in power between the two, but also that Vespiqueen isn't ruling by consensus, it's pheromone mind control and she is a tyrant. It rules.

Grade: S

Pachirisu:

Oooh, they keep trying to make Pikachu 2 happen, and Pikachu 2 just isn't gonna happen.

That's not Pachirisu's fault, of course, and does a much better job of distinguishing itself from Pikachu than Plusle and Minun did last generation. It's a squirrel rather than a mouse, and gets its electric theming from that bright blue streak on its body, as well as from sharp spikes in the blue fur that contrast with the soft, round adorableness of the rest of the design. I kinda feel like it woulda been better if it hadn't gone for the bright yellow cheek pads, because, again, that just reminds of Pikachu's iconic red cheek pads and invites comparison, but also, it confuses the color scheme a bit. Am I meant to understand the blue color and spikes as representing its electric power, or is it the yellow? Even the Pokédex gets a bit confused whether it stores its electricity in the cheeks or in the big fluffy tail. Electric cheeks is Pikachu's thing, so focusing on the tail and designing that out would have given it much more of its own identity.

For all the comparisons I'm making though, it's not fair to call it just a Pika-clone, it does have its own ideas, and frankly I would have loved to see an evolution for it that really leans into the static electric fluffy fur concept.

Welcome to the final instalment of my series where I discuss the origins of every fish Pokemon. Today I’ll be covering gen IX. For previous generations see here: gens I-II, gens III-IV, gens V-VI, and gens VII-VIII.

People criticize Paldea for having too many birds and dogs, but I haven’t seen people talking about how many fish it has. I bring this up because Paldea has a lot of new fish. Only Hoenn introduced more fish lines. The first Paldean fish is the Wiglett line, which is also the only new multi-stage line. In this case, the species name helpfully tells us what it’s based on: garden eels. These eels are famous for poking their heads out of the sediment while keeping most of their bodies in an underground burrow. Because they typically live in large colonies and look a bit like grass, a group of eels can look a lot like a patch of plants, hence the name. Garden eels are very shy and will retract into their burrows at any sign of danger. This behavior is shared with Wiglett, which will retract if it sees the player coming, forcing you to sneak attack it to battle.

Wugtrio follows the garden eel origin, but also incorporates some moray eel inspiration. Both Morays and Wugtrio lurk in holes in rocks and grab passing prey, dragging them in. The fact that both Pokémon are slimy enough to get the Gooey ability is likely a reference to hagfish. These jawless fish are famous for their defense tactic where they secrete large amounts of slime when threatened.

Finally, Wugtrio’s red coloration may draw from the giant tube worms found around hydrothermal vents.

As one of the two convergent pokemon lines, the Wiglett line is an example of convergent evolution. This is when distinct groups of organisms evolve similar adaptations in response to similar selective pressures. A classic example of this is the flap of skin used for gliding known as a patagium that has evolved independently in flying squirrels (rodents), gliding possums (marsupials) and colugos (primate relatives). All three groups evolved the patagium to beter move between trees in their arboreal environments. In the case of Wiglett’s similarity to Diglett, the dex entries and official website helpfully tell us that the two species evolves similar body plans because they are both dedicated burrowers.

Veluza is based on hakes, specifically merluccid hakes. These are predatory fish in the same family as cod and haddock who are known for being indiscriminate predators of smaller fish. Fittingly, Veluza is pretty aggressive, chasing down the player whenever they get near one. Hake are pretty economically important in Spain, Paldea’s main real-world basis. The Spanish love their hake. Not only do more than half the hake sales in Europe go to Spain, Spain is also the world’s largest consumer of the fish.

Veluza having a prominent dorsal fin and what seems to be an anal fin followed by smaller triangular finlets reminds me pretty heavily of tuna, who are also very fast predators.

Veluza also almost looks kind of mechanical, which makes me wonder if there’s some inspiration coming from torpedoes or submarines. Veluza’s habit of removing parts of its own flesh is an example of autotomy. This is when an animal will remove parts of its own body and is the basis for the pokemon move autotomize (which Veluza doesn’t get for whatever reason). Autotomy is mostly used for defense while Veluza uses it to increase its speed and offenses. In my very quick search I was unable to find any examples of fish that use autotomy, but the fact that the move that represents this in Veluza is called Fillet Away and the dex mentions how the shed flesh tastes, it’s pretty clearly another reference to how much the Spanish eat hake. In this case, it’s a fish that fillets itself for you.

I’m going to talk about Dondozo and Tatsugiri together as while they’re different lines, they’re linked to each other. Dondozo is a giant catfish, specifically a wels catfish, the largest freshwater fish in Europe. While not native to the Iberian peninsula, the species has been introduced there. Dondozo’s diet including bird Pokémon is a reference to how wels catfish will beach themselves to try to catch and eat birds.

Something I can’t understate is that Dondozo is big. At a height (presumable length in this case) of 39’04”, Dondozo is the second largest non-legendary in the franchise and 3rd largest overall after Eternatus and Wailord. That’s whale shark sizes and dwarfs the beluga sturgeon. The largest freshwater fish in the world. The two largest non-legendary Pokémon being aquatic is true to real life, where animals in the water can get much bigger than animals on land. Nothing as big as a blue whale can exist on land because without the support that water gives, the animal’s own weight would crush it. This is why beaching is usually a death sentence for large whales. Of course it would be remiss of me to not mention that both Tatsugiri and Dondozo have a sushi theme. Dondozo is based on a sushi chef. It’s head frills look like the traditional sushi chef headband and its tongue looks like a sushi geta, the wooden bench sushi is commonly served on. The sushi theme is more prevalent with Tatsugiri, which looks like a piece of hand-shaped sushi.

The different forms and colors of Tatsugiri make different individuals look like different dishes. The different colors may reference koi, which could also explain its dragon typing. Koi, and carp in general, are often associated with dragons. Tatsugiri can use its fins like limbs and survive out of water, possibly referencing fish like lungfish and mudskippers, who can live out of the water. Dondozo and Tatsugiri have a mutualistic relationship, a type of symbiosis where both parties benefit. Tatsugiri is the brains to Dondozo’s brawn, giving instructions to the larger fish and acting as bait to lure in prey. This is a form of aggressive mimicry. Tatsugiri is stated to dwell in Dondozo’s mouth. This could reference two things. The first is mouth brooding, where a parent fish will keep its offspring inside its mouth to protect them. The second is cleaner fish, who can safely go into the mouth of larger predatory fish because of a mutualistic relationship with them.

The final fish Pokémon so far and the only legendary fish is Chi-Yu. This adorable little malevolent monstrosity is based on a goldfish, or rather fire in the shape of a goldfish. Like the other Treasures of Ruin, its true body is the actual treasure, magatama beads in this case, while the rest of the body is gathered from the environment to support the treasure. Chi-Yu being born from envy and the jade beads being in place of the eyes makes it a very literal green-eyed monster. Chi-Yu and the Treasures of Ruin in general are based on the Four Perils, malevolent beings from Chinese mythology. The Treasures don’t map exactly to the Perils and the connection is stronger in some than others. For example, Ting-Lu is based on the Taotie, which is usually depicted on cauldrons, and it has a massive cauldron on its head. Chi-Yu is probably based on the Hundun, a faceless creature with 6 legs. Chi-Yu doesn’t have a proper face, just beads where eyes should be, and it has 6 fins on each side of its body. The Hundun also has wings and fins are kind of like wings I guess? Not related to Pokémon, but the Hundun appears in the Iron Widow, which is a book you absolutely should read.

And with that, this series comes to a close, at least until we get Gen X. I may do something similar with other Pokémon based on aquatic creatures, but I haven’t decided yet. I may also discuss some of my own fakemon if anyone is interested.

Chapter 14- Part 6

I want to put this to sleep with Grass Whistle, but I’m worried about any Flying-type moves it might have, so…let’s switch in to Caldera to lower its HP most safely.

Oh, it knows Double Team- more Evasion strats? That’s fine, I was gonna use Clear Smog anyways.

Or…well, I can’t keep Caldera in because Air Slash did more than I expected, so I should switch in to someone else. Glare, probably?

WHY DOES EVERYONE HAVE PURSUIT??

Oh, you are SO gonna pay for that!! By being caught like a normal wild Pokémon!!

The plan now is to swap between Glare and Riptide to lower its Attack, and use Scary Face to lower its Speed for good measure. It keeps spamming Double Team to raise its Evasion, but there’s nothing we can do about that now with Caldera fainted.

But even still…I don’t think we can Grass Whistle it now, not with that Evasion. Try paralyzing it with Glare™, maybe? It’s not Thunder Wave, so…

WHAT DO YOU MEAN?? IT’S IMMUNE TO GLARE™??

(Future edit: So, the reason I made the distinction that Glare™ was not Thunder Wave was that I was under the impression that Electric-types could get paralyzed by other means, but were immune to Thunder Wave paralysis. No- I was thinking of Ground-types when I made that decision, but Electric-types are different. As of Gen VI, Electric Pokémon cannot be paralyzed at all. I...forgot about that.)

Okay, back to Riptide…

Chip it down a bit with Water Gun, oh my GOSH Air Slash is still doing a lot- uuuuh, try Prong?

Even with its maximized Double Team, a Bug Bite should deal enough to get it into the red.

Okay, second attempt- 

We start with Caldera this time in order to do Clear Smog stuff early, but even before that we use Harden to improve her survivability.

Now, even Air Slash shouldn’t do much against-

…Ooor…not…?

(Future edit: If you couldn’t tell by now, I mistakenly thought Air Slash was a physical move. Needless to say, it’s not, it’s another special move, like Air Cutter. That’s why I was relying on Glare’s Intimidate throughout all of this, and why I thought Harden would do anything here.)

Alright, let’s just repeat what we did last time with Glare and Riptide-

Water Gun for some chip, DON’T use Bug Bite this time, then send in Caldera again-

And with that Clear Smog, we send in Riptide to slow it down again so Blizzard can put it to sleep without getting Air Slashed! We do that, and as long as nothing else goes terribly wrong-

OH, YOU CHEEKY FLYING SQUIRREL! You run me out of Fresh Waters (yes, I used up my Fresh Waters healing throughout all of this), then you knock out my starter!? You’re going to sleep whether you like it or not!

…Oh. Oh, wait, oh no- what have I done!? Emolga won’t live a turn of hail damage! GET IN THE GREAT BALL RIGHT NOW IF YOU WANT TO LIVE!

All of that for a new Pokémon…gosh! Nuzzle, Double Team, Pursuit, Air Slash- who allowed this creature to be released into the world!?

What in the world do we name this? What kind of name does one give to such an absolute menace? Wait- I know!

Pyrite! Gold or gold-colored things could be associated with electricity (just look at the Alolan Geodude line and Mt. Layuda in Guardian Signs), and pyrite being, well, “fool’s gold”- I dunno, a troll of a mineral seems like a fitting namesake for such an irritating little guy.

Well now I have an actual reason to go to the Pokémon Center a bit early…

Wow- even when the world is crumbling around her, Nurse Joy is still there to care for Trainers’ Pokémon, now that’s dedication. But who’s that guy trying to clip through the wall in the corner?

Ah, the trauma, understandable.

Now I gotta go all the way back to Obsidia Slums to buy more Fresh Water- geez…

Anyways, NOW we can keep going down this road to see if there’s anything interesting.

I mean, that’s one thing, but what’s more interesting is there’s one of the missing cops down there! Past this tree!

…Oh- well, that’s just unfair. We can’t Cut this vine out of the way- I guess we can’t free this guy until we deal with the PULSE? Or get that item on the other side? Man…

This is something the new Pokémon Go update does really well. The biomes are SMALL.

My house shows up as urban. The park I walk in is forested, and its lake shows up as a lake. The grassy area near my office (which is big enough to support hawks and falcons) is distinct, too.

And it honestly feels realistic. The difference between squirrel territory and chipmunk territory can be a quarter-mile. The crows flock on the golf course while the woodpeckers are in the park that lets the dead trees stay standing. The red-winged blackbirds are in the cemetery that has the marshy bit while the swans will only ever be on the river.

So yeah. A single city can have a LOT of variety. That's real life!

everyone always wants to know what country i would base a pokemon game off of if i could make one but that is my twisted little secret. if i could make a pokemon game.... there would be no region.... it would all take place in one city

Leon:

Leon has seen pictures of your Absol before he actually met the sweet Pokémon. He compliments the red against white that the Pokémon displays, which makes you smile. The day he's meant to meet your longest companion, he makes sure to bring not only some flowers for you, but plenty of treats and even some toys for your Absol as well

He enters your home, nervous but calm. And your Absol approaches him without wariness. As Leon sits on the couch while you fetch a vase for the flowers, Absol even climbs onto the cushions with him, offering its head for pets and accepting the treats with a pleased purr.

You return to the living room to find Absol snoozing in Leon's lap, and immediately dissolve into tears of relief. Leon is immediately concerned, wanting to comfort you but not wanting to startle you Absol. You sink to your knees next to him, admit that things weren't always the best for you, so Absol protected you best it could from harm. And for it to be so relaxed with Leon, it must mean he's safe.

Leon hugs you best he can with your Pokémon in his lap, kissing your crown. He promises himself then and there to always protect you. And in his lap, Absol smiles.

Raihan:

Raihan doesn't get a heads up before meeting you Absol. He's had a bout of bad luck after a tournament that left him at your door, hoping for a couch to crash on since his hotel had an infestation of Skwovet that turned the place into a storage container for endless mountains of berries and other squirreled away food. Luckily, you let him in without hesitation

Your Absol, brilliant red with pure white fur, stares Raihan down as he enters. His brows raise, but he smiles, greeting the Pokémon kindly. You go to get the man a drink, leaving your Pokémon to make its decision on your newest friend. Absol, slowly rising to its feet, makes its way to Raihan. The gym leader swallows, intimidated by those intense eyes staring him down

But Absol mere bumps its head into Raihan's palm, sitting at his feet as Raihan pets it. When you return with the drink, you nearly drop it, finding Absol purring and braced on Raihan so it can lick at his cheek. Raihan chuckles, and give you a warm smile, but it falls when he sees the tears rolling down your cheeks. He's safe, you realize. You're safe, finally.

Raihan immediately moves Absol off of him, rising to catch you in a hug. You set the drink down, and bury yourself in Raihan's hold, Absol brushing against your legs. You ramble out to him every relieved thought that crosses your mind, and though it's not all coherent, Raihan gets an idea of what your past must've been like. He rocks you both side to side, and gives Absol a smile. It nods in return, an unspoken agreement to protect you passing between them

The Mighty Nein's MtG Decks

Because apparently my current niche is oddly specific headcanons and also @fluffmonger asked. These are all gonna be commander decks because that's what I play. @qumulox helped too.

Fjord- Galea, Kindler of Hope. Equipment tribal to the max, with all kinds of Hexproof this and Protection from [COLOR] that. He has strong feelings on deck composition and ratios, and he's very meticulous about it. He keeps everything in Dragon Shield sleeves and Boulder boxes color coordinated with the deck's colors, and he's had the one same UltraPro playmat for years and doesn't see why people change them.

Beau- Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. Just to be rude as hell. You'd think she'd have a monk deck, but they're too slow and don't pack enough oomph. Beau will claim she just tossed it together, but in reality she spent hours on EDHRec and Reddit pulling together an optimized list. She's got one of the schmancy premuim leather mats that's cobalt blue, but she balances out the bougie by using $3 UltraPro sleeves.

Caleb- Yes. That isn't a card name, Caleb is just 100% your deck brewing buddy who never keeps a deck longer than two meetups and is constantly noodling with something new. Sometimes it's aggressively potent. Sometimes it's trash. Sometimes he makes a Group Huh?? deck just for shits and giggles. But you can always count on him playing on a pristine cat themed playmat, and his Satin Towers are somehow always immediately damaged.

Veth- Grenzo, Dungeon Warden. Full aggressive red/black that is just mean (and she thinks it's funny to use the Goblin Rogue). Flood the board with dudes, and as many sacrifice spells as needed. She throws Treasure mechanics in there for funsies and uses buttons as the tokens. She doesn't sleeve her deck or use a playmat, if only to watch Caleb wince as she riffle shuffles.

Jester- Toski, Bearer of Secrets. Jester has a squirrels deck because of course she does. She also makes decks based on the art, and they're much better than they have any right to be. The sleeves? Custom printed with Traveler art. The playmat? She did her own rendition of the cover of Tusk Love and got that custom printed too. Jester also paints custom card alters.

Molly- Nymris, Oona's Trickster. His whole theme is just stacking his deck and doing card tricks with anything that has Flash. The whole deck is either foil, Secret Lairs, and/or whatever he finds the prettiest, but also he keeps the whole thing in Pokémon sleeves he traded a kid for and he plays on a Vanguard mat that got left behind at a shop. The deck is in a sandwich bag and he never bothered to get a tube for the mat. Side note, Molly is 100% the type of person who has a very nicely proxied Black Lotus in a penny sleeve with a staple through it just to fuck with people.

Caduceus- The Gitrog Monster. This firbolg can play so much Golgari. It's all life, death, the land, pulling things from the graveyard, building from what you sacrifice. Caduceus keeps his cards neatly in nice mint Dragon Shields and a pretty wood and resin box he found on Etsy. He plays on a cloth playmat he found there too.

Kingsley- Zacama, Primal Calamity. Kingsley made a dinosaur deck in Ixalan and was set for life. He also threw a treasure subtheme into his just for giggles. Kingsley picked some anime sleeves for something he'd never heard of before because he thought it was hilarious, and his playmat was swiped from a freebie bag of Playmats Long Lost at a game shop. A habit that goes across souls? Keeping decks in a sandwich bag.

Yasha- Oloro, Ageless Aescetic. It's just a numbers game. Yasha really only plays because her friends do, so she just gains life until she gets bored and starts slamming people with Aetherflux Reservoir. She's got a beautiful mat that is a print of Jester’s flower mural, and she's got awesome lighting bolt sleeves.

Essek- Sen Triplets This man is not here to fuck around. It's just hard control all the way down. He's got a Grand Arbiter Augustin IV in there "because it's synergistic." Listen man. Essek Thelyss is that rude bitch who rolls up with a leather gaming bag, a vermaloc purple heart deck box and a purple leather playmat and custom sleeves and has the nerve to turn his nose up at your UltraPro mat.

So, random fun fact! Grey Squirrels are classified as vermin in the UK, whilst Red Squirrels are actually a protected species.

Which means that this Pokémon is not only accurate to their respective species statuses in the UK, it also makes the Shiny version more Skwoveted than usual Shinies.

Honestly, I feel like the Pikaclones are less clones and more just Eeveelutions without the actual evolving. Emolga is just Pikachu but also flying type. Not that I dislike Emolga, I think its really cute and a flying squirrel Pokémon is objectively a good idea for a Pokémon.

I absolutely love the original shiny on this, I think the light brown makes it look so soft and sweet! Since I wanted to do something completely different, I darkened the yellow areas to be a pumpkin orange, and darkened the back stripe as well, making sure that it was a more reddish tone to fit with the new details. For the main body, I went with a soft red-brown. I think I was really feeling autumn vibes with this design, but I think it looks cute for Emolga.

You know I had to do this one. Here is my take on the six fanarts challenge! Mae Borowski (Night in the Woods): My sister suggested this one because Night in the Woods is a great game, which we both like a lot. Mae is a really well developed character, who has some good dynamics going on Also, kitties are cute. Tadano (Aggrestuko): I like Tadano's design, the cool colors work really well, and his ears give him a distinct silhouette. Haru (Beastars): I've never seen Beastars, but it looks interesting, and the animation looks really good. Haru's design is pretty cute, but it has a whole lot of white in it. Maybe I should have drawn her in a different outfit. Edit (12/15/21): I no longer wish to support Beastars. The inclusion of Haru in this work does not reflect my current views. Poppy (Animal Crossing): You can't go wrong with a little red squirrel in a flower dress, now can you? I like the pop of blue in her ears, and her fur makes her look like a candy cane. Nickit (Pokémon): This guy looks like such a snarky little shit and I love it. Foxes are one of my favorite animals, and Nickit is a great example of a Pokémon equivalent of a real animal. Petunia (Happy Tree Friends): And we finish off with a nod to my roots. Happy Tree Friends was one of the first fandoms I joined, which kinda worries me now that I think about it. My BLUSH BLUSH wish list.

For those who likes the game, fan of the game or anything in between, I wanted to share my thoughts and what I wanted from the game in future updates.

Of course this is just MY thoughts, MY imaginations and just MY wish list so if you disagree, that’s OK! You can just leave what you wanted instead in the comments or in my ask box. I am open to what you have to say. So let’s go right into it:

1. Ugly Christmas Sweaters

Yes, I know I’ve posted this here after I made a screen shots of my conversations in the Steam community, but after the debut and full release of the game, we got up to date 2 DLC characters, voice audios, and a Halloween costume bundles. So if they came up with a special Christmas costume bundle, it would make me up for 2020!

In their older sister game predecessor, Crush Crush, all of their dateable girls have the Santa suit options after you max out their lover levels. (10 diamonds each.) Even though they’ve alternated each of their red Santa style suits, they’re pretty much the same.

Don’t get me wrong! They’re beautiful, but almost the same!

So that’s why if we get UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATERS instead, it would be more festive and think of how some would match their characteristics like for example: Imagine Nihm with a cute pastel colored sweater or Ichiban with a horror reference video parody. (Or imagine a certain guy with a Grinch vibe with a ‘Merry go f#k yourself’ ugly sweater.) 

2. A new Diamond Boy bundle!

If you have an account with Crush Crush and you played long enough, you already know that there’s the Darya DLC bundle that gives you diamonds on the first run. (The bundle was 15 US dollars.)

So for this, I hope that the Sad Panda team studio would do the same in this game.

I have a few good ideas about what animal forms it could be before you un-curse them:

-A Pokémon knock off of Cloyster and probably friends with that Narcissistic mermaid on the phone fling. They have pearls that looks fabs!

-A dolphin if an Oyster isn’t ‘Shelling’ enough for you nor the others. Think about a treasure hunting dolphin like Ariel who’s collecting human treasures.

-A raccoon thief inspired by the Sly Cooper video games series. This was on PS2 series and had a remake later but this would be an interesting Easter egg reference. (Maybe add some Arsene Lupin reference to ‘compliment’ the detective phone boy fling.) *Wink wink!*

-I found this interesting when I search this topic but an Owl, specifically white barn owls, with ties of Hindu myth symbol of Wealth and Fortune. I’ll leave the link here if you’re interested, but this is like if Sascha was looking for him before scamming...

-A peacock! Think how back in time when you in one of the banquet Henry the 8th hosted and this was served. This was a symbol of pride and luxury so only rich people can have these.

3. Ideal Animal!!!

We all know how a basic Blush Blush dating game is by now: You found their animal forms, you un-cursed them by dates and they’re back to humans again. (For a good humping DLC d!k pic.) We all see that it can be either a real or a fantasy animal like a rabbit to a dragon. So here’s MY idea of the next animal:

-Marine Manimal options!

I’ve said this previously, but all of the guys so far are land animals. I would understand if it’s a bit hard to do, especially with dating scenes, but if it works, I’ll sing Part Of Your World whenever I want!

My personal options are a Dolphin, Shark, Orcas AKA sea pandas, Octopus, Lobster, Crab and Oyster.

-Bird Manimal!

The only bird species we have there at the time is Kelby as a Rooster.

So for the feathered fans of the bird community, MY personal options would be an Owl, Peacock, Hawk, Eagle, Seagal, Ostridge, a Kiwi (bird) (Yes, they’re called like that in New Zealand.) Duck, Parrot, Toucan, Pidgeon or Dove, Crane or any domestic pet birds.

I would like an honorable mention of a crow or raven but since the first phone fling boy winner is the college student goth Poe, there’s a high chances that’s gonna be our second bird at high predictions. But I could be wrong so we’ll see how this would turn out.

-Insect Manimal!

I know that there will be some that would disagree that ‘ThAT’s Not An ANImal CataGory!’ which I could agree. HOWEVER! Since the game creators broke that rule with fantasy creatures like a Pegasus and a Dragon, I thought maybe we can bend that rule a bit.

MY personal insect options would be a Scorpion, a Spider, a Bee, Butterfly, a ‘manly’ Ladybug inspired by Pixar’s A Bug’s life, Praying Mantis, Cricket inspired by Jiminy Cricket  and a Beetle. 

Imagine the last one inspired by either the rock band ‘The Beatles’ or ‘Beetlejuice.’

-Land Manimals!

So going back to land animals, here’s MY personal options that hasn’t been done yet.

A Raccoon, Squirrel, Elephant, Barn Pig, Zebra, Bat, Mice, Fox, Monkey, Turtle (Which COULD have been in the marine instead, but they’re are some in land forms too!) Koala, Kangaroo, Bear, Frog, Donkey, Buck (Adult Bambi) and Lizard.

I would add an honorable mentions or a domesticated Dog or a Cat breed, but we already have a Wolf and 2 Big Cat Boys on the team with DLC. (A Lion would be a nice option, but only if it’s the magical 3 times the charm!)

-Fantasy Manimal.

I’m not entirely sure cause Pegasus and Dragons are already taken, but would think that maybe just a Horned Unicorn, a Loch Nest creature inspired ‘Animal’ or maybe the Eastern version of the Dragon.

Imagine the last one being true and Scales got a rival!

4. Ideal Manimal characteristics that hasn’t been done yet.

We have some that has characteristic that defines themselves. Nihm’s a shy, cute guy. Eli’s a Bi pride boy. Dmitri is a Smooth talker adult. Anon’s technology attributes.

So for this category, here’s MY personal ones that hasn’t been done yet.

-A Boxing or Kung Fu fighter type.

-Italian Mafia/Gangster or a Yakuza

-Chef or a Baker

-Artist

-Demon (Unless we get Seth or a different guy.)

-Business men or CEO.

-Soldier or Army Officers. 

-Car/Motor/Boat Racer.

-Thief. (Arene Lupin, Sly the thief raccoon or Joker from P5 references.)

If there’s something else that hasn’t been done or that I haven’t posted it, please share with me what you think.

5. Outfit ideas!

I know this would be like a continuation from point numero uno, but here’s a couple of more.

-Swimming trunks.

-Winter apparels. 

-Onesies Animal wear. (Cuz if we don’t get the Animal Options asides resets...)

-Summer apparels.

-Masquerade attire or wedding tuxedo.

-Pajamas.

6. MORE INCLUSIVITY IN EVERY FORMS!!!

The reason being is when I saw the reviews on the selected winner from Phone vote fling in Blush Blush.

On one hand, there were people who were happy while the rest... aren’t.

I know we all have different taste of either ‘I like cute boys’ or ‘I want a REAL man!’ but that got me thinking... and maybe if we can see guys in different skin tones or different cultures, that could be a nice inclusivity.

Imagine a Native from Southern America with a poncho or a real buff African who’s passionate with animals.

But what would you think? Let me know if this is a good idea or needs to rethink.

7. New dating places.

Like their counter part, they only have 4 date spots. So here’s a few more that would help change the scenery:

-The Beach.

-Theatre (But only showing the front, not the silhouettes.)

-Revisiting the same zoo and meet their counter parts.

-Ice cream shop or cart near the park.

-Their bedrooms. (plausible having the uncensored DLC alternate versions too...)

8. Daily spin the wheel prizes.

Hear me out on this one! You probably seen these on numerous Gaming apps in any form, but if you think about it, this could be a nice change of pace!

In each chances, you can either get a boosters from Jobs or hobbies, Diamonds, exclusive outfits, or time skips.

What’s more, you’d get 1 free spin by daily and maybe get an extra 4 more for like 5 diamonds each. (like phone votes.)

9. Decorate your virtual room.

This is only an optional and unrelated to the game. (much..)

If you’d get the option to decorate your in-game room like plushies, posters, BF jackets that was ‘lend’ to you, you’d wanted IT in RL too!!! Also, it would also boost your intimacy's with your manimal such as love hearts intakes or ‘spend less on items with this!’

And this is all I have suggested for now.
