⚠️ BLOOD WARNING! ⚠️
Day 1 - Ghosts
I'm starting inktober again party people
Context of post under cut
I wanted to continue my yearly tradition of doing the inktober/goretober prompts, but then I noticed some issues:
I didn't have the motivation to do the prompts other people had
I had too much stuff piling up on my to-draw list
I didn't want to draw only Gorey stuff, nor only wanted to draw only the inktober prompts
I also didn't want to draw for two events at the same time because exam week is in a few weeks
So I decided, why not use up some of the stuff on my to-draw list as inktober prompts, add some more stuff I'm interested in drawing, then get some prompts from friends n what not.
Note: this is actually a personal list but I don't mind others trying out the stuff my brain decided were urgent to draw, and majority of the prompts were actually inspired by weird ideas friends gave (SHOUT OUT TO GAY TACO BELL!!)
Credits to some of the prompts:
Day 6: @ezlamb (from something you said before)
Day 10: @joeseventies (also from something you said)
Day 13: @/ezlamb (again) & @undercoverbumblebeee (that time where you thought there was going to be a Scooby Doo AU)
Day 15: @zolarianstarman & @whatsitagaindoi-manny-yellowguy
Day 19 & 20: @bird-likes-to-fandom
Day 21: @tomcat-reusables
Day 23: @finleyforevermore
Day 30: 5 saints AU rightfully belongs to @astrid-rosenberg
Another note is that these are the following tags I'll be using:
red spaghetti art: gore prompts
carbonara pasta art: regular prompts
Sorry for tags guys, but proper credits need to be given

Movie poster for Blood Under the Snow, the second part of The Devils series by Amras
I'll say it again- It's such a fantastic series. Here's my pitch to you: Micah and Arthur travel across America to retrieve Micah's inheritance from his brother, Amos. They have to navigate the treacherous landscape of their persons as well as the countryside. Big sexy and very evil things happen and it's so good. It's written so well and there's a moment where I had to lie down 'cus the fic was so good. I highly recommend (especially if you like Western movies with nasty fellas, tense atmospheres, and action) 😈😈
Here is a link to the speed paint video
I put some sketches + references below the cut.
Here's some thumbnails I drew physically. I tried a few layouts. Most of them featured Micah up at the top and Amos at the bottom. I wanted a really strong silhouette and a white background to represent the snow part of the title/setting.
I found the poster for The Horseman and the Samurai and took direct inspiration from it.
I had one idea where the silhouette would be a certain character's dead body half uncovered in the snow/ white of the background. Then I'd put the rest of the characters inside that shape. There's another concept where the silhouette would take shape of a playing card where Micah is at the top and Amos is upside down. Scrapped that idea because I wanted more of a traditional movie poster look where the main focus would be the faces of the characters. Flipping a main character upside down wold mess with the hypothetical movie goers lololol
Something I figured out while looking at references is- man, the movie title and the movie star names take up almost equal attention real estate.

MARIONMORSE, DROP ANOTHER HELMETPARTY SCENARIO AND MY LIFE IS YOUUURSS 🙏🙏🙏🙏
do u think... Do you think sometimes when the team has a movie night, when they watch those 60's action war movies like "Von Ryan's Express" and "Battle of the Bulge" or spaghetti westerns like "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" and "Death Rides on a Horse," Soldier pauses during or right after fight scenes or duels or whatever to obsessively overanalyze them. Like, he'll try and turn them into strategies to use on the job, takes, uhm, 'notes', (tactical doodles,) sets up nerdy models using a whiteboard map and improvised figurines, uses these examples when he does those psyche-up pre-battle speeches or during strategy meetings.
'Cause I bet he does, I bet he does that, and it completely kills the momentum of the movie to the point where the rest of the team gets disinterested and slowly leaves him behind to do their own thing.
I genuinely bet Engie wouldn't though, nah, I bet he's enough of a patient kind of gentle kind of man willing to stick through these pauses 'cause he's just that into the movie. And maybe he's just a teeny bit into Soldier's dissections of actiony chaos. Maybe gleans a bit of an understanding of Soldier's thinking that way. Admires the guy's passion about his 'research,' how thoughtfully he gathers details in an effort to help the team. Starts mixing in tapes for these sorts of movies more regularly to their movie night pool maybe subconsciously, maybe on purpose. The rest of the team doing their own movie night. losers.

What does Roy think about his other son?
Same for Max with Manny/Doi
Roy and Fifi are very similar in their nature so in some way they can relate to each other. They're chill and have a lot in common, you know, as much as a kid can have with his step-dad. Kind of like cats, just respectfully coexisting. Worse though is when either of them decides to disappear into the shadows for an extended period of time because they both have a tendency to do that and you will NOT find them until they allow it to happen. So, exactly like cats.
Max adores Yellow and will support him in anything he does. Literally, if anything happened to that boy, Max'd kill everyone responsible - if Roy didn't get to them first. He wants that boy to be happy.
His friends, on the other hand...
