Mountain Laterals
A curiosity-grab off a local shelf, it may or may no have been influenced by the “Mountain” on the label… Strong eucalyptus flows out of the staining, dark, and slightly bricking liquid–amd that’s about it. Deep brambly berry resides within–a light sorta *berry punch* in an extremely vegetal package. I expected something rustic, but there’s more than that going on here. Tasting it produces a…

There's an app for that-
Safe & Sound
Respond, prevent, recover.
For women who feel unsafe, Safe & Sound is a safety app that helps quickly respond to dangerous situations with a panic and SOS button as well as prevent and recover from such experiences. It is resourceful offering a bank of emergency numbers and chat forums, accessible providing quick and efficient solutions to women, and informative with many short articles on the theme curated by professionals.
Target Audience – Young women, 15 – 40 years.
Safe & Sound’s unique selling point is the efficiency in how we respond to danger, provide aftercare, and provide resources for communication and support.
It is also smart watch compatible in case you are unable to reach your phone in an emergency, again allowing the user to quickly respond to any danger.
Problem generation workshop –
– Defines a problem (what is it, where does it happen, when does it happen, how does it happen and why does it happen?)
– Defines the Target Audience
– Use your understanding of the target audience to create some example User Personas (define what other media they consume, companies they interact with, their goals and known habits.
Cite map –
User flow
Welcome page – Login/
Register – Instructons – App permissions – Home page
Home page – Account – Evidence log – Messages – Resourse bank – Forums
Account – Profile (pfp+name) – Edit information – Emergency contacts – Help – App permissions – About safe & sound – Phone policy terms and conditions

Resource bank – Phone number bank – Events – Charities – Articles
Forums – Chats divided by themes/ posts
SURVEY -
Before starting any work on the app we conducted user research using a survey. The key statistics we obtained were that 80% of the 104 women that took the survey already used a tracking app, 56% percent used Life360 and they looked for a clean user-friendly design with the main features being an SOS button, a built-in alarm, and helpful resources.
This aligned with our overall vision for the app so we went ahead and created a citemap, planning out general user pathways.
Design choices –
For our primary colour we picked a periwinkle blue to differentiate ourselves from most of the market and allow a softer experience throughout our app.
For complementary colours we picked pastel yellow and a light cold pink to compliment the periwinkle colour, again using soft tones to allow the user to feel at ease when they need to. The action buttons are green to indicate a positive action towards feeling better, furthermore we felt like this would help them stand out rather than belnd into the other colours.
And lastly both the alarm and sos buttons are in red to suit the feeling of danger. We made the panic buttons stand out from the rest of the app because we feel like this helped the user know exactly where to navigate when either feeling distressed or in need of the aftercare.
The logo was designed as a shield to represent protection and safety. The silhouette of the woman profile alludes to our target audience nicely using both positive and negative space. Moreover, on a subliminal level the profile was designed to also look like a thumbs up implying the user experience will be pleasant and positive.
For our typeface we carefully chose Inter. It was clean and simple and looked good in combination with the symbols’ sharper edges.

re: jasons post resurrection appearance, i subscribe to many camps, him being too alive hold a place in my heart, and i find i care little about him being zombie like, it falls into to many pitfalls of brutishness for me, but for jasons resurrection i have three main paths
one: mother Gotham, Gotham city is alive, and she has opinions, she loves her son jason, her first true son, (note: i do not see Gotham as one entity, she is a miriad of them, overlapping, each person has there own god style, so realy i mean the first true son of inner-city gotham, of crime alley) and she has power, but she is a new city, still shaking the sand of sleep from her eyes, so she resurrects him, its not perfect, but its the dual healing and damage only capable of being done to you by your mother, this jason is.. off. he seems to belnd into the city, to know every inch of the city, the city seems to bend to him, he seems to listen to the city (i think jason has an awareness, a knowledge of the forces at play)
ah i forgot to wright how this affects his body, he is missing pieces, blood in the wrong light looks like the oil Gotham used to export, his bones twisted scaffolding. he is the so of the city. organs replaced with pipes and filters. remade in her own image, he is haunted and haunting.
two: fate. he was not meant to die (fate cannot account for everything and while i have giving joker supernatural attributes i believe joker can.. push things), so it was corrected, he woke up, with 6 months extra life. an apology almost. he is too alive, eyes wide, blood red, it almost overcompensates in its desperation to correct, his blood is over-saturated, his eyes unnatural, his bones and muscle abit to strong
three: will. jason is shown to be stubborn, and in this he claws his way out of his grave because of that, he has not done living (this is especially interesting when you think about jason not wanting to live, how he wanted so hard, but then it backfired, gut reactions can pay(sheilia)) in this one he is also too alive, aggresively so, but flashes can be seen, he is both ghost and living, and no one wants to tell him no.

This is a purely self-indulgent post. I have been wanting to make this since I first started my blog, but I didn't want to seem too weird off the bat.
Now is the time for me to finally show the full weirdness of my brain.
The only reason this came to be is because their packaging is so pretty and I already own the ones I recommend for Mammon and Levi. I basically see them every day and it makes me think of those two dorky demons. So I began my quest to find all the scents that fit the brothers.
This is based off the art and name of the scent because I don't exactly know what all of them smell like...
What Poo~Pourri Scents Each of the Brothers Are
💙 Lucifer -
Déjà Poo
The color are very vibrant and proud just like him.
It also reminds me of a peacock which is his animal form.
I really picked this one for the colors and the vibe of the bottle. I can't see how Lucifer connects with Deja Vu.
Maybe it is because he looks so nice, you think you saw him twice (?)
💛 Mammon -
Royal Flush
Pretty self-explanatory, but I will still say it.
It looks very elegant.
You get the gambling vibes, which is one of Mammon's favorite pastimes.
Also imagine him being so excited getting a royal flush while playing poker.
🧡 Leviathan -
Ship Happens
This one showcases Levi's prowess with the ocean.
He is an admiral. He knows how to use a boat. He basically has a pet Kraken.
Just imagine Levi at the helm of a ship yelling out commands like a real captain... swoon.
He is a big ocean demon and no one can change my mind.
💚 Satan -
Trap-A-Crap
Now Satan was a hard one, so I leaned more into the name for this scent.
He loves making traps to mess with Lucifer!
I know their isn't much green on the bottle for Satan, and what is there is camouflage...
But imagine Satan using magic to belnd in with the wall so he can see Lucifer's scowl when he steps into his trap. Priceless.
💖 Asmodeus -
Pink Citron
This was one of two choices that I had for Asmo, but I think this one is just too perfect.
It grabs your attentions, it has his main color, pink, and it is pretty to look at.
That is Asmo to a T.
I can just imagine him actually carrying this everywhere so he never leaves a bathroom smelling terrible.
❤ Beelzebub -
Honey Poo
Beel is as sweet as honey so he deserves a scent that is just that.
Also I could totally see him eating an entire honey comb as a snack.
I know Beel's main colors are red and orange, but for some reason I also associate him with yellow.
I just think he would love that he could technically eat something similar to the scent.
💜 Belphegor -
Lavender Vanilla
I know this is one of their basic scent, but this makes so much sense to me.
Lavender is an herb that is known to make people sleep better and Belphie is the Avatar of Sloth.
Then there is also the fact that it is purple just like his color!
The dash of vanilla is a reminder that he is the twin of the food loving Beelzebub.

Family Ski Retreat an Oasis of Stylish Comfort in a Harsh Landscape
A modern yet cozy family retreat in the Coast Mountains of western Canada has all the creature comforts and style to spare. The terrain and mountain environment may be harsh, but the house is a modern oasis of all the amenities a family could want during a getaway.
A modern, linear profile belnds the house with the surroundings
Called the Whistler Ski House, the residence was built ten feet above the ground, which makes it look like is floating among the trees and above the snow. More than just a design feature, the elevation protects the main part of the house from the flood-prone lakeshore.
Conceived by Tom Kundig of Olson Kundig of Seattle, the house is actually two distinct buildings connected by a glass-walled bridge that spans 80 feet. The largest of the two wings contains the living and dining spaces, master bedroom, and two guest rooms. The second wing houses all the family's children in four rooms. The wing has enough beds to accommodate not only the kids, but their friends as well.
The glass bridge links the two sections of the house.
The view from the inside of the bridge is equally nice.
While the main aim of the bridge between the two wings may be to create privacy, it also adds an interesting design feature because it weaves through a stand of evergreen trees. The views to the outside, as well as of the bridge from the outside, are grand. Separating the two parts of the house also preserves more trees and adds opportunities for additional windows to capitalize on the views. One side of the house features floor-to-ceiling windows that offer an expansive view of the mountain lake at the bottom of the property, as well as the forest of aspens, firs and hemlocks beyond it.
Large windows offer views of the surrounding mountains.
The main living area is open and very versatile.
One of the most intriguing elements of the house is a custom horizontal shutter system. The design not only creates privacy, but it also protects textiles, upholstery and art inside the house from fading due to the harsh snow glare. It's a simple system that uses crank and switch controls to transform the façade according to the weather and the family's needs. The shutters can convert the front from a bank of windows to one that is semi-exposed, shielded by raw-edged Douglas fir louvers. For more severe weather or when the family is not in residence, the windows can be completely covered by weathered steel panels.
Mechanical systems change the window covers as necessary.
Metal panels protect the windows in severe weather.
Slatted louvers shade and protect the interior.
The raised home is protected from flooding.
The home site had more challenges than just a flood-prone lakefront and extreme winter weather. The soil on the lake shore is very soft and deep, and the entire plot is in an area at high risk of seismic activity. For this reason, architects had to design a continuous 2-foot thick raft slab to support the house. The slab is set on densified soil that was prepared using a series of vibro-densified rock columns penetrating 60 to 68 feet into the ground.
The slab “floats” on the fortified soil, allowing the house to remain stationary during an earthquake that could cause the unimproved soil to slide down into the lake.
A side view shows the different layers of window shutters.
Here the slatted shades are partially raised.
Inside, the house has great style and a very sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance. Plenty of open space makes the area flexible for all the things a larger group of family and friends will want to do. Comfortable furniture and cozy throws add to the warmth of the light-filled space. Clean lines and an unclutter visual lines throughout make it aesthetically pleasing.
The fireplace is the focal point of the open main living area.
The home's large fireplace is also out of the ordinary. The mammoth concrete fireplace is double-sided, maximizing its usage and serving as a divider at the same time. The fireplace structure separates the main living and dining area from the media room on the other side. It also features custom enclosure doors that slide, allowing the homeowners to adjust the size of the fireplace opening in the media room, which is a smaller space.
The fireplace is double sided and has artful wood storage.
Moving panels adjust the size of the fireplace opening.
A panel can be lowered to make the fireplace opening even smaller.
When not in use, the space can be fully closed.
The master bedroom is focused on comfort and the view.
The “adult” section of the house is a retreat like no other. Uncluttered bedroom designs put the focus squarely on the spectacular view outside, which is the star of the property, day or night. The minimalist decor, combined with the wood, create a warm and stylish bedroom.
The design of the bathroom emphasizes the tub and view.
Perhaps some of the most stunning views can be seen from the master bathroom. Floor to ceiling windows surround the soaking tub, making it a fantastic place to unwind after a day of outdoor activities. The minimalist design of the space only serves to highlight the views. A stunning stone floor with dramatic, dark striations pulls the eye through the room to the tub and the view beyond.
Unobtrusive stairs are located between the buildings.
Natural wood stairs to the ground level outdoors are nestled between the two sections of the house. The side railings are accompanied by an architectural grid that adds an element of safety as well as a visual complement.
The ski room has everything the family needs.
The ground level includes a garage, screened terrace and ski room, which is the epitome of an organized hub for the winter activity. With an entire family that loves the sport, the homeowners needed a way to safely and neatly store all the equipment as well as corral the wet gear after a long day on the slopes. A full ski rail and individual cubbies for coats helmets, and ski boots line the walls and a large bench sits in the middle. The ground-level room is an easy first stop before heading upstairs.
The sole pop of color comes from the oversized entry door.
The front facade of the house is also fashioned from natural shades of wood, stone and metal with one exception: The oversized, red entry door. It's a dominant pop of color on the otherwise neutral structure. Just three large steps with a low rise lead up to the entry, which is separated from the garage entry by a stone column.
The red is also a major accent from the inside.
The massive door swings only to one side.
An outdoor fireplace is a wonderful element.
Underneath the house atop the floating slab, an outdoor fireplace is built into one of the stone supports. It features a built-in concrete bench, which turns the slab into an architectural design element and not just a necessary function one. The house above adds shelter from the elements, increasing the number of occasions the family can enjoy the fireplace.
The house fits with the terrain and woods.
Taken all together, the unique and luxurious elements of this property create a dream mountain getaway for a family that enjoys skiing and the great outdoors.

Borealis Eye Serum Review (UPDATED 2017): Don’t Buy Before You Read This!
Borealis Eye Serum is an antiaging eye cream designed to reduce dark circles, wrinkles and other signs of damage. Additionally, this product may be used to hydrate dry skin around the eyes and improve texture.
Borealis Eye Serum is made from a blend of ingredients such as peptides, vitamins and antioxidants. Unfortunately, the makers of this product never go into more depth about what, exactly, is present in this product.
We’ve learned that Kremovage works to provide the youthful look many women are looking for—gently erasing fine lines, crow’s feet and wrinkles. Ingredients like peptides, hyaluronic acid and herbal extract offer a vibrant, hydrated, and best of all, younger look with regular use. Click this link here to look at how Kremovage can change your appearance for the better.
Do You Know the Best Eye Creams of 2017 ?
Borealis Eye Serum Ingredients and Side Effects
Borealis Eye Serum does not provide potential consumers with an actual ingredient label, making it difficult to present the active ingredients and evaluate them fairly.
Below, we’ve listed some the active ingredients that may be present in this blend, but keep in mind, this information may not be entirely accurate.
Peptides Vitamins Antioxidants
Peptides: Peptides are amino acid compounds that help make up collagen. As we get older, collagen begins to break down, causing skin to lose its structure and elasticity.
Peptides are used in a range of skincare products, as they may restore collagen production and reverse some of the visible signs of aging like crow’s feet, fine lines and sagging skin.
Antioxidants: The makers of this product never specify where the antioxidants present in this belnd are sourced from, but, antioxidants in general, provide some key benefits.
Antioxidants work to neutralize free radicals, calm skin and improve texture and appearance. Antioxidants also prevent future skin damage from occurring.
Vitamins: We don’t know which vitamins are present in this formulation but vitamins A, C and E are often included in many skincare formulations. All of which work to generate new skin cells and protect against free radical damage.
Tired of looking tired? Check out the list of eye creams best suited for your skin type.
EDITOR’S TIP: Combine this product with a proven eye cream such as Kremovage for better results.
Borealis Eye Serum Quality of Ingredients
Borealis Eye Serum’s formula remains a mystery. The items listed above are vague—vitamins, antioxidants—we just don’t know which ingredients, specifically are present.
Based on the fact that this company cannot provide an ingredient list—which, in terms of skin care, functions as a rundown of the selling points of a product—we cannot recommend this item.
The web copy on the site, as well as the handful of third-party channels fails to inform people of what they are getting when they use this product.
With so many skin types, ages and varying concerns among the pool of potential consumers, it’s hard to see why anyone would blindly buy an eye cream that fails to specify critical pieces of information.
Whether you’re looking to prevent sun damage, reduce puffiness or erase fine lines, there’s an eye cream for you. Click here for our top picks.
The Price and Quality of Borealis Eye Serum
The makers of Borealis Eye Serum never make clear how much this item costs. The official website (or blog page, rather) is designed to get people on the hook for a monthly subscription by entering their information in exchange for a free trial.
This product is “sold” alongside the Borealis Face Cream—with both products reportedly going for $89 a month after the 14-day trial ends.
Based on this information, it’s clear that users should avoid using Borealis Face Cream and the eye serum. Any product that doesn’t provide product specs or pricing likely cannot deliver on the promised advertised.
The monthly cost of Borealis Eye Serum is higher than many of top-of-the-line creams and serums. The difference, however, is most of the high-end antiaging solutions provide ample detail, informing consumers of the contents of the product, essentially making the case for that investment.
Click the link to read more about our reviewers’ favorite eye creams of 2017.
Business of Borealis Eye Serum
Unfortunately, the company that has set up the Borealis website has opted out of providing any contact information or company details—at least anywhere visible to potential consumers.
The official page for the Borealis Eye Serum is an unsecured WordPress blog page, set up as a means for capturing information from people asked to pay the shipping and handling charge on their free trial offer.
Like so many others following this formula, Borealis offers a few details about the formula-contains a handful of vitamins, plus antiaging chemicals, but never dives any deeper in regards to what the formula is designed to accomplish. We don’t know if it’s made to prevent damage or erase existing wrinkles. We don’t know if it safe for acne-prone skin or contains hydrating ingredients for dry skin.
We also never get to see an actual ingredient label—so, the formula could be made from a blend of inactive chemical ingredients, or not.
Countless red flags aside, this site is not a safe place to divulge credit card information. It’s not an actual e-commerce site and is unsecured. Those thinking about trying this product or something with a similar payment structure should steer clear of any product that does not clearly display critical information, like pricing or other key details.
Customer Opinions of Borealis Eye Serum
Borealis Eye Serum has mixed reviews, though the bulk of them are positive. Based on the comments we came across, the price point may be a little high for many consumers. We also noticed that this product was stronger in some areas than others—not so effective for crow’s feet, but great for dry skin and creating a more refreshed look.
Here are some of the comments we came across in our research:
“This eye cream works well on wrinkles around the eyes, but it does nothing for dark circles or puffiness. I put it in the fridge as recommended, and that didn’t seem to change anything. Not worth the money.”
“I’ve tried so many different products and let me just say, this product has really improved my wellbeing. I’ve been suffering from candida for so long, I couldn’t believe this finally knocked it out.”
“It actually works. I’ve had a yeast infection for nearly three years and I was skeptical that I would ever be rid of this terrible fate. I will continue to buy this product for the foreseeable future.”
“Been using Airbrush for about a year now, and I like it. It smells awesome and leaves my skin feeling smooth and supple. It doesn’t take away wrinkles, but I’ve yet to find anything that actually does.”
Most of the women who loved this product were in their 20s and 30s, so it’s likely wrinkles were less of a concern than preventing damage or hydrating skin.
There were a few mentions of allergic reactions to this product, meaning users need to be aware of what they are putting on their faces.
Additionally, many of the reviewers mentioned those product was great for dealing with puffy or tired eyes. It’s likely it’s just not the antiaging product it claims to be.
Start looking younger within weeks — here’s a look at the most potent antiaging solutions on the market.
Conclusion – Does Borealis Eye Serum Work?
Borealis Eye Serum fares a bit better than its free trial-scamming peers—at least in terms of reviews. While not especially positive, the product does have some decent feedback here and there.
That said, we can’t recommend this product to our readers. As an eye cream, there’s limited evidence that this product yields consistent results. Plus, there’s no official website, rather, a cut and pasted WordPress site, that’s more of a landing page for capturing credit card info for those interested in a free trial.
Borealis Eye Serum doesn’t provide enough information to potential consumers that make this product seem like a valuable option for consumers—even the “demonstration” photos on the site show a younger woman with heavy eye makeup on—masking the area where the serum would be applied.
These days there are so many options available for eye cream—whether you’re looking to prevent damage or repair years of neglect. Borealis Eye Serum is clearly not the best option for anyone, of any age or skin type.
Kremovage is our review experts’ favorite eye cream–providing a youthful, rested look with regular use. Natural ingredients like jojoba oil, green tea, and rose hip seed, along with nutrients like peptides and CoQ10 bring potent antiaging effects to users hoping to erase the visible signs of damaged skin.
Kremovage was made in a certified lab facility, using safe and proven ingredients. This product was designed to give users a well-rounded formula, fighting fine lines with clean ingredients. Click the link provided to learn more about Kremovage and its ability to improve all skin types.

Paso BDX
Dark and biting, an almost-typical Paso rendering of Bordeaux-blend nuances, but with a hesitation before the full-on burnt over-ripeness clouding so many examples. Rather subdued nose, shyly exposing mint and must but the concentration and semi-burnt aspects are present. Decanted heavily. Glassine in glycerine aspects, a thick layer of fruit laid down on hi-alc presentation. Chocolate and…

Been a minute since I dug into one of these Sierra Foothills stunners. As I have raved before, these are some clean, amazing, nearly-perfect wines from El Dorado–a region which is my FAVORITE of all the Sierra range. Pale transparency in the glass–absolutely clear even at depth–showing a golden glow to the rosy core. Bottled in flint–a bold move with any red–but zero sediment or haze anywhere.…

Di Facto
Finally got into the middle child of a care package from Tuscany, and like the (new) winemaker said, it is truly cut from a bit different cloth than the newer release. This was made by his grandfather, who kept things at a much riper, more new-world-friendly super-Tuscan style. It lacks the vibrancy of the 2021, relying instead on classical–nyet: *safe*–nuances of heady black fruit and extended…

Madelation
A small side-project in Monterey with rumors of no longer producing. I got really excited about this brand a couple years ago with their Loire-style CF (including listing it in my top wines of 2018) and ran into their flagship BDX blend the other day at a local shop. Monterey County produces gobs of Cabernet, but it is watered-down, lower-shelf, rather boring stuff nearly across-the-board. This…

An absolutely GORGEOUS nose on this one, grimy muddy boots and shoe-leather and maraschino and a sweaty spirit found only in horse-stalls after a good run or sticky midnight summertime sex. Almost too dirty, masking the fruit down into figgy reduction and nutty bruised cherry, but the full roundness of peat and weed funk are invigorating and lithe. A ridiculously yummy wine, from first sniff through last lingering taste. And another NV! Two nights in a row. And I didn’t even plan that–both just random grabs from the sample-shelf.
