Haha concept art dump go brrr anyways I had a vivid flashback to Burst AU and remembered an idea I wanted to draw.

Since Emmet fuses to Nihilego directly through Burst rather than attaching to it as a host, he is still able to use its parasitic abilities to latch onto someone. This is the dual pilot vision for Ingo and Emmet using Nihilego together.

This was an idea I could see happening at the final battle for that AU, and honestly it might replace it because this teamwork concept is much more interesting than the OHKO that happens in the original (though ig that means Durant is out of a job plot-wise). Guess I might end up scrapping Celebi after all ^^

Alright so for design notes,

There's more limbs because there's two people running the show, also though it'd be funny to colour code them

Since Emmet is partly Nihilego in Burst, he comprises the actual body that Ingo is suspended in/connected to. In Lusamine's form, Nihilego has a section at the back that has more limbs connected. Emmet is fused to that at the hips, and as such has to lean or hold onto Ingo to reach him/see what he's seeing

Since I have Lusamine's picture here, the twins have a different shaped bell. It's like two bubbles intersecting, since it has a rounded section around both Ingo and Emmet. It's a bit bigger in the back though

The joints are more angular!! They actually have a triangle pattern both on the edges and holes, and the limbs will match a specific orientation

They can hold hands :) (they pilot different sections of the body)

I love Vorpalshipping and Eeveelutions, so I thought - "Why not do both at the same time?"

This is from a world where they're part-Pokémon, complete with Poké-powers that come packaged with being a certain Mon. Sorta like Pokémon Réburst... Actually, that's where this idea mainly came from. I'm not all that good with fashion design and all that kinda stuff though, at least in my opinion.

And that's it! It's annoyingly... a bit too lacking overall, but I just like the whole concept! Might write an actual fic based on it someday, who knows!

Although if more people shipped Vorpal online, I might be able to motivate myself to make and post more here...

Nonetheless! Even if I have to, I'll sail this ship all by myself, and I hope the few people who like it too can appreciate what I do here.

Sketches from May (and a doodle comic from today)

These are some rough sketches for what their bursts looked like in childhood, teen years, and college. Ingo evolved to Chandelure after college so that's why he's not on there. Also woke up this morning with a vision of them having this conversation so I drew a quick thing of it.

Minor design thing but I think my favourite goof with burst is that it's just gonna change any clothes they're wearing, like Emmet will turn all his shirts and pants fluffy and Ingo is perpetually stuck in some kind of formal wear. Also how Emmet's eyebrows just get replaced by the other set of eyes.

Anyways, I'll see to sketching up a lore post sometime soon, in the meantime hope you like the art and have a good day :)

Pokémon Burst rewrite

Feck it, taking advantage of Pokémon trending.

Basically Burst hearts was a concept that was woefully wasted, however I do offer a rewrite.

burst hearts are now burst stones/gems. Burst stones are the unpaired form of burst gems, they only become burst gems when a person and a Pokémon has a strong bond together and they touch it.

after the first burst, the stone is now a gem aka an active burst stone. It takes a lot to use burst, Especially for the first couple of times or trying to take another burst, some can handle multiple burst forms though.

the Pokémon are not trapped inside the gems, instead they become energy and merge with the human.

the gems can be put into accessories like mega stones.

deburst occur under certain conditions such as either side being too tired, perish body/song, self knockout moves and using the gimmicks for too long

another important aspect of the burst gems is the emotions, when a burst is forced it causes a dark burst which is basically the berserk gene via burst.

another thing is that bursts can use Z moves, mega evolution, terratilising and dynamax, (however the last two require paladea and Galar)

I have no idea why Pokemon ReBURST never took off.

It's a manga about people who merge with Pokemon and shounen fight one another. Shouldn't this have been, like, the most incredibly popular thing? Among the gijinka crowd or maybe the furry crowd, or something? It's like everyone's dream of becoming a part-pokemon brought to life, plus it has typical shounen manga combat.

I just have no idea why this thing is a literally who.

Remember those pokemorph role plays on Neopets in the 2000s where you were humans that transformed into Pokémon? I remember when the manga Pokémon Reburst came out and I was like “holy shit Pokemorphs are their own canon now!” Then everyone forgot about it past the first volume. Seriously pokemorph roleplays were the shit I loved being a milotic mermaid when I was a kid.
