Kinda got a love/hate relationship with the history of K/S because it's like. Can I please have a queer discussion about this 1960s television show without it being reduced to "shipper discourse". I thought Spock and Kirk were homo long before I knew that their characters spawned a fanfiction counterculture. impulsively decided to watch the old powerpuff girls cartoon and idk why but that was a very good decision. im at this point with youtube that i genuinely just- dont care? the content isnt fulfilling me in a way a show can. its like theres no legitimate point of watching the things i do because it wont affect my life at all and its just pointless to my time. yes it did once make me happy but- its caused me to procrastinate on what i want to watch?? so impulsively based on a fanart i saw i was like "hm i should watch that. relive a bit of my nostalgia" so i did!! and its actually funny??? like there are just some jokes that i started cracking up at.

so- basically. give into your impulsive desires more often if its to watch silly cartoons or leaving the house. sometimes it can make u 50% more happier. u really gotta listen to ur body. forget about society norms. embrace childlike wonder

I'm of the impression that Moon *was* a mistake caused by reprogramming, but when he was discovered, the higher ups saw a chance to market two animatronics in one, no matter if Moon's presence hurt them both or not. Then they rolled with the day/night motif for a while, people started complaining about him so after a while of being the naptime attendant, they decided to cage him in light, perhaps after a/some death(s), child or adult.

i guess it's not super unlikely for faz ent. to pull something like that, but it just makes so much more sense to me if they were both something that was at least somewhat intentional, rather than moon's presence being something that needed to either be removed or used to gain profit :(

but regardless of how they came to be, i imagine that they were fairly good at what they did before the virus came along and forced them to be locked away. rather than what the books say about moon always needing to be kept away from everyone..

Thinking about mainframe shows and how good bw is cause the ppl making it just have. A kind of fantastic grasp of storytelling and especial yeah humour but specially all honed for this. Cgi cartooning and tv format their working it [and also pretty much invented. Lol]. And this is incredible obvious if u watch reboot. Tho in some regards bw might come out on top cause it constrains and focuses the narrative and worldbuilding in ways reboot is not. But its important theh had reboot to just do. Fucking everything they ever thought of ig.

Like im hardpressed to think of any other show like reboot. Like say. Ur character having a self reflective emphany that hes grown up into a harsh and cruel man like the very enemy cause he grew to hate his childhood self for being too weak. In an episode that is lifting themes, making in jokes and also quoting direct lines, and full scenes. To 1967 british cult psychdrama. The prisoner.

Actually yeah it is really interesting the way DMC uses its relatively repetitive plot cause like despite literally every game having the basic premise of "demon attack some guy is doing crazy shit" none of that really ever, matters. It's always set dressing for what Devil May Cry stories really are about and that is extremely personal conflict within families, especially the Sparda family. In 1 Dante get's brought to Mallet Island cause Mundus is trying to unite the demon world and the human world but like, does any of this really matter? No not really, it's just an excuse to get Dante there. Mundus isn't an antagonist/villain to face because he's ending the world, it's because he's the one responsible for destroying Dante's family. This keeps true for the rest of the franchise and it's also why the antagonists* themselves aren't necessarily that deep, because their desires to rule the human world are just stepping stones for the central familial conflicts/narratives the story explores. The asterisk there is obvious, it isn't a coincidence that Vergil, who can be considered the overarching antagonist of the franchise and clearly its best, is the antagonist directly tied to that familial conflict.
