Ashton Frey is literally so autistic though like it’s got me making organized lists here let’s see
He’s carefully mastered the art of observation and reading people cuz he was so bored as a kid being forced to attend large social gatherings and he isolated himself and just studied the way people interacted with each other to figure out why they behaved the way they did. Despite this, he’s still really bad at understanding social cues (he is never able to tell when Rebecca is upset or what could’ve caused it, he can’t word anything properly, he talks in such a logical way that he comes off as uncaring and he doesn’t notice when it upsets people, etc) and generally doesn’t interact with most people
He’s very intelligent but hated school because the system was structured so horribly. He fell asleep in professor Andrew’s class frequently but once the professor found a way to appeal to his interests he became super committed and passionate
He’s horrible, just absolutely horrible with words and communication lol. He fumbles and stutters and says a lot of mean things on accident. He mostly communicates through his actions and it’s why he comes off as cruel and uncaring to those who don’t pick up on it and kind and considerate to those who do pick up on it (my favorite example is the difference between Rebecca and Isabella’s feelings towards him. Rebecca relies on Ashton to tell her how he feels and because he doesn’t communicate very good verbally, she assumes he doesn’t care about her when he in fact cares a great deal. Isabella on the other hand is able to get on his level a bit more, like understanding that even though he teased her about the letter he still took his day off to help her in the way he thought was best and he gave her ice cream and the charm because he cares, and she is able to see just how loving he really is)
Earning his trust isn’t easy but once you get it he WILL cling to you like crazy and shower you with memes and bad puns and do anything to make you happy
He gets a lot of attention for being hot but he’s usually oblivious to it or finds the attention annoying. He also tends to turn people off with his personality
He fixates so hard on what’s important to him that it’s detrimental to his physical and mental health and he shuts out everything else to pursue his interests
He categorizes his life into boxes and HATES when things slip out of their needed space. He finds himself lying a lot to the people important to him because he’s so desperate to keep them away from the other parts of his life. He is easily transformed by the people in his line of work and finds himself becoming like them. Also he’s kinda gullible in his job and doesn’t realize he’s been manipulated by his boss since day one cuz teehee cops are fucking assholes and he has a naive sense of justice and easily believes everything his boss tells him and it makes him the perfect pawn for some abuse (seriously i hate chief lee so fucking much god I hate him Ashton baby I’m sorry but you’re being manipulated and your boss is a monster and you need to get a better career dude)
He’s very insecure and scared of rejection and beats himself up for minor flaws. He also has trouble understanding his feelings and expressing them he tries to logic his way out of feeling and only cries when he’s hit absolute rock bottom and is like. Told that he needs to cry because he’s clearly not holding up well and only then is he able to
He’s got a damn good memory and remembers every obscure thing about his friends
He’s very attached to objects and gives them names (Shirley and Ophelia my beloved)
#the letter#the letter visual novel#ashton frey#i also got similar shit for marianne shes sooooo autistic coded its unreal#but yeah i just love the way this manifests in all the relationships like i said here the contrast between rebecca and isabella#it really shows the compatibility of the characters like i mean they all struggle with communicating a bit#but with ashton and rebecca they got the classic problem of rebecca getting upset because she thinks ashton doesnt care#because he expresses his feelings through his actions but never says the right words shes looking for#so then she gets mad when he doesnt notice shes upset with him because she never tells him whats wrong#and he can be kinda oblivious to her being upset and he says things that make it worse#its just a fucking mess they are not on the same level at all they fight constantly and with rebecca in particular shes just never satisfied#isabella on the other hand she feels frustrated with ashton too because he teases her a lot and she takes it very literally#but theyre able to find a middle ground like ashton takes responsibility and apologizes for the times hes upset her#and Isabella is able to notice how ashton has been showing his feelings through his actions like she realizes he spent his day off trying to#help her and he took her to the ice cream place cuz he noticed it and thought of her and he paid for her despite being a scrooge#and he gave her the charm even though he doesnt believe in curses because he knows she does and shed maybe feel protected with it#and its really cute cuz once she realizes this you can just see the exact moment she Gets It BAD for him#they are so fucking aaaaaaaa so good for each other i love them they are everything

alright. look. this involves an old theory i sent on like. discord a month or so ago that i tttttotally didnt forget to put here.... whaaaat! ur crazy.
ANYWAYS! amandas "demon". that terrifying freak /aff. i think theres a LOT to explore there! for example, the demon only appears when amandas upset, and wooly doesnt seem to acknowledge it at all. it closely resembles BOTH of them, more so amanda than wooly but shhh. BOTTTTH OF THEM. and i think its more of the defensive type, while woolys is offensive.
why does any of this matter, electro?youre spouting NONSENSE! because what if the demon isnt necessarily "possessing" rebecca/amanda HERSELF, but is instead a manifestation of her feelings amplified by the fact that the manifestation in itself is demonic.
now i know that makes no sense at all whatsoever, but listen. amandas demon only appears when shes upset or when you purposefully interfere with her attempts to escape. the demon is only present when strong feelings are as well. if hameln was aware that, after they did what they did to her, that she would feel the resent and anger and hatred towards them she clearly does, what if the summoning of the "demon" was an attempt to take those feelings and bottle them up into a separate entity. one hameln thought they could control in order to keep her in line. hell, what if amandas "demon" was originally supposed to house the emotions of both amanda AND wooly, which is why amandas resembles the both of them? what if it wasnt enough, which lands us with the first demon (mix of wooly and amanda) and the second one (purely wooly), since one demon could only hold so much of their feelings. is that why shes able to connect with it and speak to it in the second game when it comes to attack us, because its still in a sense HER and shes, in a sense, calming herself down and putting her negative emotions to the side? is that why wooly doesnt seem to realize her demon is there, because those are the feelings and the other side of him he wants to leave in the past?
regardless, it has to hurt amanda in some way, right? like. holy shit. that poor 6 year old girl who was tortured and abused and manipulated is being forced to become the vessel for a demonic entity that could have her dead at any moment if it pleased. like. i love you rebecca you deserve the world

I honestly have nothing else to add (I slightly disagree about how much of N’s responses is true to their character vs how much of it feels like a narrative dislike of internal conflict; by my definition being - as stated by both of you: tensions and ‘fights’ are just “glazed over” to push us to one possible result. The result seen as “best” by the writer. I describe it as the ‘smoking dilemma’. Basically, even if YOU head canon your MC as a smoker, and even though the text has a very visible cigarette smoker, the decision is clearly seen as not a good one by the writer and any attempt to have your own mc smoke in text, is shut down without any real push back from the MC. As mentioned above, this isn’t an issue that happens only against MC. I don’t know it’s weird. Sera does allow the characters to be called out in situation but only in set, very brief instances.
Anyway, personally, I feel this is much more of a balance between N’s flaws vs what Sera WANTS to happen. But maybe that’s just my N bias, and is also not the end point here.) You both (@oiseinswife , @chargeortega) said it so well. 
That said, I naively remain hopeful. Only because a part of me wonders why let us have strong options to have our MCs shut Rebecca down if that isn’t an acceptable response? I feel the ability to be more neutral or indifferent or uninterested in rebuilding a dynamic feels clearer in the book 3 demo (if I remember right). Also given the snippet MC gets from N during the friendship/romance routes, my desire is that their can actually be a DISCUSSION of the DETECTIVES feelings and a more clear opportunity to shut things down.

i really hope the sensitivity readers picked up on this point for book 3 - so far it’s been v clear narratively that mishka WANTS us to like rebecca. to the point where this remark was just completely Buried and it’s seriousness glazed over??
I rly enjoyed N being so wildly incorrect, but am torn bc so far that’s completely at odds to their sensitive nature. it feels like N was almost a proxy for mishka in that part? i like ROs disagreeing w us, even when they’re wildly wrong (ppl do be like that), but I 100000% agree it’s been super unbalanced so far. the detective should be able to justify their viewpoint and be rightfully pissed at N for a long while if they so wish LMAO

Author’s Note: A lot of people have suggested I do a part two to stars office and I always meant to but never got around to it! I hope that you guys like this. Id be open to a part three (and hopefully do it quicker this time around lol). Thinking for part three that I could do two endings, one for chris and one for wesker....
I also added this request to the plot : @zedonna , If not that, then maybe a possible scenario where Reader replaces Richard? Instead of Chris finding him and Rebecca, he sees reader with the snake bite (someone he is close to and harbor feelings for) But for extra angst, maybe chris doesnt find the serum in time and comes back only to find Rebecca has abandoned a now deceased Reader. ( Totally not what happened my first playthrough with Richard) Thank you, anything is appreciated!

The tension in the helicopter was poignant and undeniable. You wouldn’t be there for long but the emotions hung in the air like dreamcatchers, haunting and sticky. Wesker hadn’t said anything about Bravo Team and no one had asked him. You hadn’t personally heard a thing about Rebecca since she left the day before, or any of them for that matter. The air held onto the fear of the moment, not knowing what you were going into and not knowing if you would come back. It didn’t help that you were sitting across from Chris, who didn't want to make eye contact with you. 
You felt bad. You knew that you had slept with Wesker to get back at him but Albert was right. He hadn’t actually made a move. It wasn’t your duty to control Redfield’s emotions, especially not so close to the field. 
Jill was waiting for the right moment to ask you about it. The day before you had been best friends with Chris but now you were wearing the wrong shirt, clad with the hickies to match the rumors. Wesker hadn’t let up - why would he? What was everyone gonna do, tell the boss? He had an especially confident aura about him this morning. It was attractive. His jaw set and his disinterested eyes made him that much more alluring. 
You tried to avoid eye contact. 
“Bravo Team’s crashed helicopter is just below us. We’re going to land there and fan out in search for them. All contact has been lost and we don’t know what we’re going into,” Wesker announced, standing up and grabbing the railing above his head. “Think on your toes and don’t try to find each other if you get split up. We meet at the mansion if needed.” 
There were a couple curt nods. Chris pretended not to listen as he looked out the window at the helicopter crash. His face was laced with concern. He cared so genuinely about all those people. Your helicopter lowered, slowly. You held your gun tighter as you got up, preparing to exit. You remained in line as you left, landing eventually on the ground below. 
Jill moved forward to investigate. 
“Stay low Vickers,” Wesker said into his comm. His voice was robotic now. You barely recognized the man you had been with last night. You came up behind him, gun held up, a flashlight in your other hand. 
“Yes sir,” Brad responded. The joking manner in his voice left with the sun. It was now tension filled and dark, a low hanging fog creeping in around the eerie crash site. 
“I don’t see anyone,” Barry exclaimed, from a little further in another direction. Wesker opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by a growling noise coming from the crash. Everyone who heard turned their guns to face it. A dog emerged from the grass, teeth bared and slobbering. You tilted your head, eyebrows furrowed. How had a dog gotten all the way out into the middle of Raccoon Forest? You barely had time to think of solutions when it snapped, jumping forward. It went at Jill, who was closest. You moved forward to grab her arm and help her up, unable to distinguish the noises around you. 
Dogs were barking. More than one. You could hear people running, commotion happening. No one ever prepares you for the silence of the moment. There’s no background music to justify the violence. It’s just you and your thoughts, or lack thereof. 
The helicopter rose. 
Wesker yelled something, something at Brad in the helicopter. But he was leaving. You turned to try and find Albert but it was too dark. You and Jill ran in the direction of Barry, who you could make out. Chris was behind you in a second and then you had more companions than not. You were glad to be running the same way as them. 
You weren’t sure where you were going, or where this supposed abandoned mansion was. But you followed Jill’s stumbling direction regardless until you reached something that couldn’t be mistaken for anything else. 
Barry and Chris opened the doors as you and Jill shot aimlessly into the dark, hoping to hit a target. You backed into the mansion and the doors shut. The silence was deafening. Heavy breathing and large open air but no longer any dogs. You breathed again. 
“Good, you made it.” You turned around to face Wesker who was standing in the middle of the room. He was breathing slightly heavy but it was nothing compared to the rest of you. 
“You take a shortcut or something?” Chris questioned, bitterly. 
“I told you to follow me after Vickers got spooked.” 
“Got spooked? Those were rabid dogs Wesker!” Jill pointed out. She peeked out one of the windows. Now that you were inside, you could take in your surroundings. You were in a grand hall, doors on either side and two staircases going to the level above you. The light on the chandelier was on. 
“I thought this place was abandoned,” you pointed out. 
“It was,” Wesker muttered. 
“We should probably investigate it then. See who else is here. It might be Bravo Team,” Jill offered. Wesker nodded curtly. 
“Well there’s no going out that way,” he said pointedly, gesturing to the front door. You could still hear the faint scratches of the dogs on the other side. 
“This place is huge. There’s gotta be another way out,” Barry offered. 
“Jill, Barry, you take the left door,” Wesker said. “Chris-” 
“I can go by myself,” Chris noted. He gestured to the right door. “Try to keep your hands off each other.” You knew he was just hurt but it didn’t wound you any less. 
“We really should try to stay together,” you offered. 
“Let him dig his own grave,” Wesker offered sharply. Chris could’ve been swayed before but now he was gone, going up the stairs. You huffed out. 
“We’ll meet back here in five, after looking around,” you said, looking at everyone. Chris waved his hand, Jill and Barry gave a disregarding nod. You opened up the door to the left and was greeted with a small room. There was a statue in the middle. 
“Fucking Vickers,” you muttered. You moved your hair out of your face and looked back at Wesker. “Did you know he was gonna do that?”
“Of course not,” he offered. He tried the door at the end of the room. It was locked. 
“You can shoot it.”
“And waste a bullet on a door?” He gave you a dumb look. His glasses covered his eyes, making it unable to get a read on him. There was a curtain on the other side of the door. You moved it aside. 
You raised your gun. 
“Are we gonna talk about it?” you questioned, turning the corner. 
“What is there to talk about?” He was following you. 
You side eyed him. 
“I told you, I don’t do it often. In the eye of danger, I give into impulses.” You refused to believe that was all it was. The way that he held your face…that couldn’t have been conjured up for looks. 
“Alright,” you grumbled. “And the way you acted towards Chris this morning?” 
“Will you focus?” You rolled your eyes and entered the side room. There was a man passed out on the ground. You rushed forward to him, leaning down, gun still at the ready. Wesker hung behind you. You reached at his neck to check for a pulse, unable to see his face. You got nothing. You looked up at Wesker, about to tell him the unknown man was dead, when the man moved. 
You jumped, scampering back. Wesker raised his gun. The man stood warily, unsteady on his feet. You crawled behind Wesker as he shot without so much as a warning. The noise echoed off the small hallway. Wesker shot the man three times but he still stood, unaffected. His mouth opened, drool coming from his face. He didn’t look…human. He looked like he was dead, like his pulse. 
One more gunshot from Wesker in the face took him out. He fell back down. Your eyes were wide, breath heaving. 
“Be careful. Things don’t like to stay dead around here.” You looked up at him, amazed or annoyed you couldn’t tell. He offered you and a hand and helped you up. 
“What the fuck was that Al?” 
“You know what it was.” You wanted to tell him you sure as hell did not know. You thought about Night of the Living Dead. You thought about Evil Dead. Wesker turned to leave, leaving you amazed in his wake. 
“Albert was that a zombie?” 
He didn’t answer you. You reopened the door to the main room. You were happy to be in a larger space but now every corner was menacing. What was lurking where you couldn't see? Jill and Barry came from the door across the hall. 
“There’s something there! A monster!” Jill exclaimed. You ran to her, out of habit. She was one of your best friends and her distress sent you into protection mode. Suddenly you wanted Chris back. You looked up to the stairs, searching for him. 
“We saw it too,” you said. 
“We have to separate and find a way out of here,” Barry explained. 
“This place is huge!” you argued. 
“Where’s Wesker?” Jill asked. You turned around. He was gone. Where had he gone? He came with you into the main room hadn’t he? You opened up the door again but he wasn’t there. 
“He was just…he was just here!” 
“Chris?!” Barry called up the stairs. You were scared. The fear petrified you in your spot. Where were they? You didn’t want Jill to leave your sight. You wanted to stay planted right next to her. 
“Oh God, what happened to Bravo Team?” Jill asked, breathing out hollowly. 
“You want to split up?” you spat at Barry. 
“Chris could be dead,” Jill muttered.
“We need to cover ground quickly. It just makes the most sense,” Barry promised. “You both of your weapons. You’re trained to deal with abnormal issues.” He stood in front of you and Jill. She was holding your elbow. “You won't be able to find them if you just stand here.” 
He directed it to both of you but it seemed like he was talking to you. 
“Wesker couldn’t have gone far,” you maintained. 
“Then go find him.” Jill looked like she wanted to future protest. She looked up at the stairs. 
“I’ll go for Chris,” she said, voice still wary. 
“We all come back here when we’ve found an exit. It’s the central part of the house.” You didn’t want to know more details. What if no one came back? What if you were stuck waiting for someone who had been a zombies dinner? Where was Chris? Was he okay? 
“Find him,” you told Jill. She nodded. “Stay safe,” you whispered. You didn’t want to leave but you forced yourself to move away. You had to go. You had to go. 
You opened the door again. Wesker must’ve gone back to this room. God knows why he didn’t just wait until you had all made a game plan. You refrained from calling his name, holding your gun tightly in your hands so the blood left them. 
The zombie in the corner was still down. You tried the locked door again. It opened, weak on the hinges. He must’ve broken through it. You took a step through, trying to breath through the nerves. He was around. He had to be.

The mansion was like a maze, filled with puzzles and locked doors. You had a hard enough time finding out where you were, let alone where everyone else was. You were met with zombies and disregarded ammunition. The Bravo team was here. You weren’t sure if they were anymore. 
No sign of Wesker but even less sign of anyone else. You hadn’t seen Jill, Barry or Chris since you split up with them. At the confines of the mansion you felt like the problems of yesterday were far less important. 
That was, until you saw Chris rounding a corner. 
He held his gun up, prepared to shoot an oncoming zombie, but was just met with you. He let out a sigh of relief and it was like there was never any ill will. You rushed to each other, throwing your arms around his shoulders. 
“Chris oh God,” you muttered against his arm. You had never been so happy to see your friend. “I haven’t seen anyone in forever.” In reality it had likely only been an hour but that hour seemed like a lifetime. 
“I thought you were dead,” he exclaimed. “I saw Barry briefly, and Wesker.” 
“Where?” You still were unsure how Wesker had evaded your searching. He had only a couple minutes of a head start. 
“Upstairs somewhere. I lost Barry outside, when some…some of those things…” He shook his head. He grabbed your shoulders. “I’m glad you’re okay.” 
“I’m glad you’re okay too.” He nodded once. “I found a couple keys laying around. I don’t know what they go to.” He offered you some of the keys he had found. They had symbols on them. You had found one, a Spencer key. You pooled them together. 
“We should see if these lead to a way out. How did you get outside?” 
“Through some wall,” he explained. “I don’t know who made this place but they need to take another architecture class.” You nodded. 
“Listen, I’m sorry about Wesker. I was angry and he made a move and I felt bad.” He shook his head. 
“It isn’t the time.” 
“It could be the only time,” you explained. “I’m sorry Chris.” His face evened out into a genuine gaze. 
“It’s alright. I’m sorry too, for making such a big deal of it.” You nodded once. 
“It’s okay,” you promised. “We’re cool?”
“We’re cool,” he agreed. You tilted your head, gesturing down the hall. “Let’s go kill some zombies, Redfield.”

“Hey, I got this key. There’s a door down the hall I wanna try,” you said. Chris was messing with the piano in one of the rooms. 
“How far down the hall?” 
“Across the main room.” He narrowed his eyes on you. “I’ll be fine.” 
“That’s far. You can’t wait?” 
“I’ll just be a second.” You and Chris hadn’t gotten far on your own. He couldn’t play the piano and you couldn’t read sheet music. You were at odds. You knew Jill could play and she had to be around here somewhere. He swallowed hard. 
“If you’re not back here in five minutes I’m dropping all of my progress.”
“Yes sir.” You saluted him half heartedly and left the room. You rushed down to the other side of the hall, trying at the door you had seen locked earlier. The door opened slowly. You were met with a zombie, who you shot in the face. Only afterwards did you check to see if the zombie had familiar features. This had been people. What if some had been your people? What if one of them was Jill and you didn’t know until it was too late?
You shuddered. 
“Y/N.” Your eyes went wide at the sight of Rebecca. 
“Rookie,” you breathed. “God Chambers, look at you.” She looked dirty and like she had gone through hell. She rushed up to you, glad to see a familiar face. 
“You’re the first friendly face I’ve seen in ages.” 
“Do you know where the rest of your team is?” 
“Most dead,” she admitted, regrettably. “I lost the others. I crossed paths with Richard but then lost him again.” She looked down at the key in your hand. “Can you try this door?” 
The words seemed normal.
 You opened the door, expecting a zombie.
 You were greeted with a snake. Giant, the size of a house. Things happened so quickly, things you weren’t even sure could happen. Rebecca shot and you vaguely thought about how Chris would come looking for you soon. You wished you hadn’t left him. But you had found Rebecca. 
The snake bit at you, scratching your arm. You were just narrowly able to stumble out the door when you fell down, feeling the effects of it immediately. Rebecca rushed towards you, barricading the door as best she could. You looked up at her, worry lacing your eyes. You were bit. You were dead. 
The door opened. Chris emerged.
You and Rebecca turned to him, breathing hard, bleeding in different places. 
“I should’ve never let you leave,” he muttered. 
“There was a room across the mansion that had some medicine bases,” Rebecca said, thinking quickly on her toes. Her words seemed too sharp. You couldn’t even feel the pain. It was starting to numb. You looked at Chris, frightened. 
“Where?” he asked. 
“It’s hard to explain. There are so many rooms.” 
“You have to go with her,” you said. “She’s a medic, not a soldier.” 
“She made it this far.” 
“We don’t have time to argue. Do you wanna save her or not?” Rebecca felt awful. She had suggested you open the door and she hadn’t been prepared for what she would find on the other side. Chris looked conflicted, eyes gazing back to you. 
“Go Chris.” 
He gave you a pack of ammo. 
“We’ll be five minutes,” he promised. 
“I’ll come looking if you’re any longer,” you said dryly. He smiled weakly and looked at Rebecca. 
“Lead the way.”

The silence was deafening. It was just you and the house again. You and the house and the snake next door. You and the house and the snake and the zombies that lurked, haunting your every step. 
You were trying to be brave in the face of your adversaries but nothing seemed easy here. You regretted telling Chris to go. If you died from this, would you turn into one of those things? Would he have to find your body, still warm, knowing he was just barely too slow to save you? 
Every option seemed worse as time went on. 
When the door finally opened again, it wasn’t Chris or Rebecca. 
“Fancy seeing you here.” 
Wesker’s voice was condensing in a meek way. Still, you were glad to see him. You were glad to see anyone living at this point. You held your arm, eyes like daggers.
“Be careful. I might turn into a zombie here soon and then you’ll have to shoot me.”
“I don’t have moral dilemmas like that.” 
“So you’d shoot me?”
“In a heartbeat.” 
“Thanks for the vote of confidence Wesker.” You adjusted your seating against the wall. He walked up to you and leaned down beside you. He grabbed your hand gently, moving it aside. He took off his glasses to examine the wound. 
“Snake bite?” “Large snake. More like a scratch.” You were so used to his sunglasses that you took the moment to stare into his cloudy eyes. He glanced up at you, a knowing smirk on his face. 
“You’ll be fine,” he promised. He looked around in his tactical vest, searching for something. You watched with curious eyes. After a moment, he grabbed a vile. He put it against your arm wordlessly and injected you with it without warning. You winced, more at surprise than pain. He grabbed a bandage wrap out of his side. 
“You’re awfully prepared for the worst,” you observed. 
“I have to be. I’m the leader of this team.” He tied it shut, strengthening it with a knot. “Be more careful next time.” 
“Where did you go?” 
“When?” 
“When we got to the main hall with Barry and Jill. You just left.” 
“I thought I heard something. I went to investigate.” You didn’t believe that. He was close, sitting beside you now. You bite the inside of your mouth, still hazy from the snake bite or whatever he injected into you. Wesker didn’t mind your questions. In fact, he wanted to encourage them. You were smarter than the rest of the lot. He liked that you would always be just a single step behind him, rather than a whole staircase. 
“Okay,” you said finally. “Can you help me up? Rebecca and Chris went looking for something to help me with. They’ve been gone too long.” 
“You should know that there’s no use in trying to save all of them.”
“They’re my friends Albert.” He put a hand on your wrist, holding it gently. 
“They won’t all live. There’s no use in you dying with them. It would be a waste of a talent and the waste of a sacrifice.” 
“Who’s sacrificing themself?” 
“Anyone who dies here is sacrificing themself for one of us.” He wanted to tell you it was a controlled experiment. He didn’t. You would find out soon enough. 
“I don’t think I like that Wes,” you muttered. 
“You don’t have to like it to live it.” 
You felt more comfortable with Chris but you felt safer with Wesker. No harm would come to you while he was here. You grabbed his hand and held it for a moment. 
“We’ll all get out of this.” You let his hand go and reopened the door. 
He wanted to tell you no. Not everyone would make it out of this one. It was designed to kill some, to help others succeed. He knew you would be the latter. Even with the snake incident.

You went the back way to find Chris. 
Five minutes after you left, he returned. He found a pool of your blood on the floor and he didn’t see you. His eyes went wide as he stood in the doorway, blocking Rebecca from being able to view it. 
“What? What Chris?” She tried to shove him aside. 
“She’s gone,” he breathed.
He tried to picture you as one of those…things. He tried to picture your eyes dead, your fingers peeling, your skin melting. He couldn’t. None of the mental images seemed to conjure, out of sheer fear. He could never kill you, even if you were already dead. 
“Maybe she went looking for us?”
“We’re too late.” 
“The snake bite doesn’t mean she’ll become one of the zombies.”
“It could. It’s the same thing, the same virus, isn’t it?” Rebecca had no sound argument against him. She knew as much as he did. 
“She couldn’t have gone far. She went looking for us,” Rebecca said again. Chris didn’t have the heart to argue with her.

Wesker intended to lose you again but you were just so alluring, he couldn’t help himself from hanging around. He followed you around the mansion, he helped you kill the bioweapons, he ended the mystery of things that should have remained shrouded. 
He figured you wouldn’t see Chris again until you reached the laboratory. He would keep you till then, saving you from that moral dilemma. It would be far more interesting for you to make the decision when you were before Tyrant, when you saw Wesker’s true colors. When you would’ve died without him. Could you live with him? 
“Wesker come on,” your voice spoke, breaking him from his thoughts. “I think I found something.” 
He followed you like a lost dog. 
“Let me see.”

So I wrote this down and forgot to do it as a reblog but I'm too lazy to insert every picture again, so here is my experience with the og vienna cast recording on spotify👍 (only act1 because you'll see how much I wrote just about that)
disclaimer(ish)? I wrote every opinion while, or immediately after listening to a song, so a lot of the times I go back and correct myself, or change my opinion, but hey atleast it's authentic. Also I compare it a lot to the hungarian recording because I heard that dozens of times and that's what I am used to.

Overture: Great 10/10 i love it in every language, has a bit different vibe than the hungarian version with more bass, I like both👍
He ho he: I actually *really* enjoyed that! Alfred has a nice voice that reminds me of Héger Tibor who is my favourite Alfred so thats great 10/9 only because I prefer the edge the hungarian version has to it its just a teeny tiny bit more sharp imo, and for me nothing tops the mic peaking scream Alfred lets out there. But overall amazing so far!
Knoblauch: Fhuuuu lot to unpack here for me. I'm definitely getting used to the german, which I don't here a lot of in a daily basis becasue hehe Hungary, but I'm trying to not view it as strange therefore bad, it has a lot of great moments but I'm used to the flow of hungarian. Now, I really don't know how to feel about professor right now. If you have seen my page, I *LOVE* hungarian professor, but so far.. I don't love this version. Alfred is still cute tho, but I miss his dumb little laugh when he says the line about Magdas breasts, somehow that made me like him even more. Also, Chagal. I have a mixed but mostly positive relationship with him in the hungarian, he has a very fun way of singing changing his range all the time, but so far he irritates me sorry😅 But yeah 10/7, Knoblauch 👍
Bitte meine Herren: LOVE ALFRED, starting to like professor👍This is a kind of a nothing number because it's mostly dialouge but yeah very solid 10/8
Eine schöne Tochter: Man I really don't like Chagal😭 Just the way he sings triggers something deep ick in me. Funnily enough the hungarian version is one of my favourite songs so just for that 10/5

Gott ist tot: I....i actually prefer Egyházi Géza sorry. I knew going in that I'm going to be very biased for Egyházi Géza because well...yes. But while I didn't dislike the song, I actually liked it, nothing tops his performance for me. The hungarian version is more...what is the right word.. soft? Flowy? Really hard to explain because I'm not an expert but to me german is a harsher sounding language than hungarian and because they are both from different language families, it's hard for me to relate to something so different. This doesnt mean the german version is bad❗❗I love the chorus part it's very eerie, maybe even more than the hungarian but I still prefer that over this. Regardless 10/8👍
Alles ist hell: Love love love the start 😭 Koukol I...don't like so far but for me he really peaks in act2 so all I'll say is please don't wheeze into my ears 10/8 for the wheezing
Warheit: Yeah uh...I don't like professor. It's a very delicate matter because essentially he sings the same way as hungarian professor but **something** is missing that makes him lovable in my eyes. Also just singing "logic" is weird for me, and for that I actually prefer the hungarian lyrics which is "Ténytől tényig, ez visz az igazságig- From fact to fact this leads to the truth" but thats really not something I can complain about. I love when the others starts singing too, it really elavates the whole number to a 10/8 jegercsik csaba hit that high note better imo
Du bist wirklich sehr nett: I prefer Héger Tibor here. Somehow he captured that exact tone of being terrified but also infatuated with Sarah (and my actual flirting skills) for me nothing beats his "goodnight" at the start. Sarah is great and I really enjoy her so far so this is a strong 10/9 for me 💪

YAYYYYY I WOULD LOVE TO!!! now ngl this is very general..... so yk what i will simply give u my Top poems (for the moment!!) and why i like them heehee

now something about me is that i LOVE run on poetry and this one has been my favourite of the kind for a while now... i dont know i just really love how it starts with the cockroach, ostensibly something so mundane and then links it and links it and links it and links it. like. does it make sense? not really. but at the same time it just Fits Together until it gets to the end with a link right back to the beginning, a neat little knot. I DONT KNOW MAN. i think that with run-on poetry you always have to keep in mind what your Goal is and where you want to bring it in the end because its SO easy to get caught up in just going and going and going and then getting lost in it esp since there's not really strict formatting. i think this is a really really good example!! (like just choosing a favourite part was hard because everything just fits together its SO hard to choose where to cut it off)
favourite line: in hotel beds, two windows facing south, ghosts of last night's feast, the smell of rot from the soil, on your floor, there is protocol and survival, torn foil, an entire body slackening, exhaling,

okay. okay!! i really like this one because of how meta (i guess?) it is? like it breaks the fourth wall. it KNOWS that its a poem it doesnt try to obscure the fact. it knows that everything that's inside it is for the Sake of the Poem.... if you know what i mean (Here, a gazelle is a poetic necessity, nothing more.) i just LOVE the idea of undercutting the Expectation of what a poem is (metaphor and simile and imagery) and Bringing attention to it i just think it gives SUCH a good dimension to the poem. its also VERY hard to do convincingly and not just sound ironic.... like yeah it's aware that it's a poem but in no way is it scornful of that fact... you know....
favourite line: There, you’ll find my will, and you’ll grab the gazelle by its horns.
3. ALZ ghazal by rebecca foust
okay this one is INSANE to me. a ghazal is basically a form of poetry where (in its most basic form) the last word/phrase of each couplet is the same (in this case, it's "repeating". and LISTEN i tried to write one and its INSANELY hard !!! (i gave up lol) DO YOU SEE HOW LONG THIS ONE IS??? thats CRAZY talent. other than me admiring the fact that she was able to go on for so long without it feeling over the top, i LOVE how this poem progresses. like it starts super mundane (It’s the same house, same rugs, same wallpaper, and bedroom repeating) and then devolves like you can FEEL it getting more frantic as you read on. its like. the familiarity of everything being the same -> the horror of Everything Being The Same and yet forgetting. I DONT KNOW I JUST THINK ITS KIND OF INCREDIBLE!!
favourite line: O trochee, lilting your 10-beat line. O river, O iamb repeating the tide. Bishop called loss an “art.”
4. to my mother by mahmoud darwish (honorary mention)
im including this as an honorary mention because im not AS insane about the poem itself (even if it is VERY good) but more about this video of mahmoud darwish reading out the beginning. it has just lived in my head rent free since i heard it like 4 months ago. i don't know theres something that i love a lot about hearing in the original language (fully realize it might not have the same effect on someone that doesnt understand arabic LMAO) like idk i feel like theres a Touch to it that is lost when i just Read it in english..... but translation is a WHOLE other topic i will NAWT get into right now or this will become a full essay.

I do feel like we at times ignore subtelty when it comes to performances while I agree she seemed more reactive, I think she was able to convey so much with just her facial expressions and physicality and made the third act much more impactful but the slap scene was glorious. I know rebecca is getting so much love as she should a real standout but my god charlotte rampling had me gagged like the definition of plans within plans. Tge scene with her a timmy at the end was so good.
I totally get what you mean, Z did an outstanding job, no question about it, but I just expected her to be more of a central active figure, for how Denis and many reviewers talked I simply expected something different, not saying she doesnt deserve all the praise, the opposite, she definitely proved herself as a very versatile actress
Rebecca is definitely still the performance that stuck with me the most, her screen presence and performance are unmatched
someone else in my inbox mentioned they weren’t sure about Flo as Irulan and I so disagree, Florence is seriously one of the most talented actroes in her generation and she embodied regal cunning princess so well
can’t wait to see more of Irulan and Chani and Lady Jessica 😌 I support women’s rights and wrongs and evils

For Charlie Tartt, Keeley has the idea of doing a baby photoshoot for Charlie and Charlie winds up dressing as everyone from the Richmond fam, like Jaime puts a little headband and kit on him, Roy and him match in dark heather charcoal and they draw a beard and eyebrows on him. They do the same when he twins with Ted and Beard. And on it goes with all the lads from Richmond. Even Rebecca and him dress in matching power suits while Keeley dresses him up in pink fuzziness to match her. It's a wondrous, fun-filled day with tons of pictures and love, which only goes viral when one of the pictures released to the public is of Roy, Jaime, and Charlie together all family like. The Tartt-Kents become media darlings for sure.
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
Jamie saying to Keeley that he regrets not getting pictures of Charlie taken when he was a baby baby, and Keeley knows he didn't because at the time, Jamie was trying to figure out how to be a parent and look after his brother. So Keeley arranges a whole photoshoot when Roy gives her an idea by making a sarcastic comment about parading Charlie around looking like the team, and of course she has to do it
Roy, for all his joking, does melt when Charlie comes out laughing and touching the little headband that matches the one Jamie wore earlier at practice and has a little kit with Tartt on the back. He even sneakily takes some pictures of Jamie fawning over Charlie and kissing Charlie's cheeks to make him laugh.
And then when they come back for the next picture, Charlie has little drawn on brows and stubble and he's wearing a mini replica of Roy's outfit and it just slaps Roy in the fact because god he loves Jamie and their kid, and the thought of Charlie growing up to be the best of him and Jamie makes him feel sentamental.
They do the same with Beard and Ted which has Beard cracking a smile and deadpan voice going "that's the cutest thing I've ever fucking seen" while Ted is tearing up and calling Charlie a distinguished gentleman and promising to take him to kansas some day cause he'd fit right in
After a nap and some food, they get Charlie back in his little kit and take some pictures of him with the team. He gets little things added so he can mimic different members and it's adorable. The pic of him and Dani has him and Dani making faces at each other with a little toy football in Charlie's hands (that totally doesnt make Roy hover because he's scared Charlie will put it in his mouth)
And finally he gets to match two of the strongest women in his life, and maybe they even put him in little scrubs so that Roy can give a picture to his sister and Phoebe of their little nephew/cousin dressed like his aunt
The picture that goes viral is one that Keeley takes when Roy and Jamie aren't paying attention. It's Roy laughing while holding Charlie who's got melted chocolate on his hands and face and is pointing at Jamie because he left a little choclate handprint on Jamie's face while Jamie has an arm around Roy's waist and is looking at them both as if they hung the moon and the stars
Roy isn't too happy about it, but he does admit it's an adorable picture even if it means he gets more annoying press questions about his and Jamie's personal lives

listen, this is a whole other level of upset i have experienced when it comes to being disappointed and confused.
to me it felt obvious that something was wrong. i have only felt this way in my NIGHTMARES
where i feel lulled into safety and then completely thrown around, back to safety, and then it gets even worse
there were things i liked and things i did not like
the call-backs were TOO on the nose
why did jamie and roy turn into teenagers fighting over a crush? where is the roy that needed to tell keeley she is a boss ass bitch and to never let anyone make her feel any different? where is the jamie who was so sad and apologetic about the leak?
why did nothing get wrapped up for sam??? oh he is playing on the nigerian team? cool? HOW???? with a billionaire actively against him? what happened to the restaurant????? what happened to the CHEF at the restaurant???
what the fuck is up with trent?????? where were ted and trent's heart to heart??? i refuse to believe that the only criticism ted has is to change the name because...what??? ted is the reason for everything??? his hardwork??? the impact he made?????? he cultivated an amazing environment full of trust, honesty, and connection?? i just...where is the trent crimm monologue regarding the last chapter???
WHY IS TRENT ALONE in the end??? it seems like he was longing for connection and to be accepted as he is, to be part of a family, and he is ALONE?
we NEVER find out the boat guy's name????
rebecca finally understand the psychic's predictions about how richmond is her home and her family??? how she is a mother to everyone at the club?????
and then throw that all away to be like "haha just kidding it was actually about boat guy and his kid"
i just....everything feels disjointed
everything feels off
so much so i don't even believe it was just a dream on the plane, i feel like this whole episode was a nightmare scenario
and i acknowledge that part of me feels this way because of how i project my personal issues onto this show, it just...doesnt feel right
ted is with his son. his wife is there, who knows if they are together. but what we do know, is that ted is alone with no support network
ted is back to america, which isn't a great place (especially in kansas no offense), we never hear ted explain WHY he can't bring his family to london. we never see henry show any remorse or sadness for ted being at richmond?
be a goldfish???
okay so forget all the love and support you built and carry on in life with people who think you are "too much" and that you need to be more quiet and palatable for people to accept you back home???
all i see happening with this ending, and no resolution whatsoever, is ted becoming incredibly depressed
and eventually committing suicide, just like his dad
i'm sorry but resorting your happiness only to being a good father, is not fair to the kid
the ending is a tragedy to me
i genuinely have no idea what the fuck is going on

I love to imagine Rebecca as trans like it just has become so ingrained in my mind it feels weird it’s not canon. She realized at a young age and her parents were supportive and let her present how she wanted and they used her name and pronouns, but they weren’t around enough to go the extra mile for her and make sure she was being protected. She was the target of some pretty bad bullying at school, both from the students and the staff, and Ashton was the first person to defend her. Ashton is cishet (cuz I think it’s funny) and hes kinda ignorant at first but he tries his best and he just likes Rebecca and wants good things for her and he’s so emo he scares away the bullies lol. And this was definitely a big part in Rebecca gaining feelings for him he just showed her this special kinda care that no one else ever did, and it’s what makes her extra insecure as the years go by. Cuz she wonders if maybe the reason Ashton never seems to reciprocate her feelings is because she’s trans and he just never thought to see her as romance material as a result. Which is a line of thinking that gets out of control really bad and she never gets to have the closure she wants with it either
She tells Isabella that’s shes trans just cuz they’re best friends and it sorta comes up eventually. Isabella was a tomboy growing up so she can definitely relate to the bullying shit pretty well and they are very protective of each other and vow to beat up anyone who talks shit about the other. Thank you for giving your OC a reason to actually exist rather than just for shipping purposes. Quite annoying seeing someone's OC have no potential all because they decide to give nothing interesting to the character but only will when they ship them. Sorry this is a rant but I have been seeing this happen too much. Great work by the way.

i dont get people's take on ted lasso ending. why do they hate that ted comes back home to his kid? why would they want ted and rebecca to be together? doesnt make sense to me.
it has always been said right from the beginning that ted ran away from his problem and his son. now that he has found the strength to face it, he has to come back to actually face it and raises his son. demanding the kid to be uprooted from his home just to live with his father is very selfish and life changing for the kid, especially when it's the father that left him in the first place.
ted HAS to come back home. it's time he works on his own problems instead of helping others.
and it's not like richmond wont ever see ted again. the internet exists, guys. rebecca is super rich too. and they are all international players who travels all over the world frequently. they don't always stay together at one place.
that's the thing of making friends and new found family when you are an adult. you can live half the world away and you'd still be bestest friends. you can not see each other for years and when you finally met up it'd feel like you have been in each other lives since forever.
