Hey Sam would you ever consider offering stickers or pins in your shops (both your art shop and the Elsewhere University shop)? I just bought a new laptop and I would really love to be able to put an EU themed sticker or a sticker of one of your pieces of art on my case.

I spent the afternoon moving things to my Redbubble; as of now stickers are a Thing That’s Happening!

I don't have a patreon, in the past it has felt kinda weird to me to have a patreon that is based the work of other artists and animators.

But now that I am trying to do more art requests I have decided to set up a ko-fi which is similar to patreon but you can do one time donations so it feels like less pressure to me.

Also I do have a rebdubble and I am planning on updating that with some of my more recent art soon.

I don’t do art for financial gain, so I don’t personally care, but it has sometimes made me wonder when people will buy ridiculously expensive things on Redbubble and not bat their eye, where as trying to get someone buy and the original artwork anywhere near close to that is impossible.

Then I look at myself - I buy pillows and shirts and shit from Rebdubble with OWN SHIT ART ON IT like a godfucking NARCISSISTIC SHIT - but I couldn’t care less about the originals.

It just is nicer on a usable thing. It feels more valuable to me, even if it is just dull piece of plastic.

That’s why I think people with more of a designer’s mindset are better at monetizing their work. Cos people are gonna buy phone cases and clothes and whatnot regardless and a cool design is something most people are willing to pay extra. But you know, if you are more a fine artist, even it’s amazing art, you’re basically just offering pieces of paper or whatnot that do nothing than just take up space.

I mean, I still have the pillow with my favorite piece of art that I’ve ever made in my bed and cuddle it every day. I don’t know if I even own the original artwork anymore or if I threw it in the trash with the rest of them.

Hannibal Cre-Ate-Ive Art Collabs

If you’re familiar with the Hannibal Creative’s events, you’ll know by now that all our announcements come with the art of an artist from the fandom. We’d like to collaborate with new artists, so if you haven’t collaborated with us before but you’d like to, we’re looking for you ;)

Collaborating with us would mean drawing one of our events’ artworks (example, art by @camileflyingrotten for the event #FullerFeast). We would use it to announce and promote an event (always crediting the artist!), and later, to post the roundups of said event. As we are a non-profit group, this would be a free collaboration rather than a paid commission.

We wouldn’t alter the artwork in any way without your permission, nor repost it anywhere else except on the Hannibal Creative’s Twitter and Tumblr, for the reasons already mentioned above. The artwork would always remain yours and you may do as you wish with it after the announcement (upload it on your personal tumblr, twitter, Rebdubble, etc).

We would always discuss the theme of the fest in advance, normally at least a month. So you would be able to consider if you want and can collaborate with us.

We usually like giving the artist as much freedom as possible, and the only thing we request is that the art meets the event’s theme. The rest is up to the artist (unless you’d need more than the idea for inspiration, in which case we would try to brainstorm or provide you with more specific guidelines).
