Этим четверговым вечером наслаждаемся ритмами рубежа веков!

Не баян (его там явно нет!), а классика. Простецкая композиция о шести аккордах с постоянным ритмом и сочной динамикой в финале задевает струнки миллениальских душ почти 20 лет спустя. Oh, tonight, you killed me with your smile!

Занятный эффект создаёт противоречие разбитного ритма и минорной, даже мрачноватой основной темы. С Tonight её роднит горизонтальный мотив, ясный, простой бит, а также писклявые электроинструменты. Мой любимый момент по тексту - The lengths that I will go to/ The distance in your eyes.

Очень концентрированная, набитая текстом песня - почти нет инструментальных частей, кроме лаконичных интро и аутро. Передышку дают припевы, строящиеся на повторе заглавных слов, а куплеты - просто калейдоскоп отсылок: от Like the naked leads the blind до Something borrowed, something blue.

Да, и русскоязычные музыканты рубежа веков не выпадали из контекста, и Sid & Nancy для меня однозначно рифмуется с Every You, Every Me благодаря нервному биту и снова - мотиву на минимальных интервалах. Правда, здесь есть мощный инструментальный бридж, а также, впротивовес Молковскому сдержанному бормотанию - вокальные примочки.

Привет из 2023! Дом Фера - мастер стилизации, и вот Bottom Line возвращает слушателей к рубежу веков квинтэссенцией вышеспетого и сыгранного: приглушённый вокал, развязная манера исполнения, ясный ритм, мажорный аккомпанимент, протяжные припевы, в меру электронное звучание - а ещё и ироничный текст, особенно в духе Placebo: I shine when my back's against the wall и так далее.

Pirate Crew

The first crewmate is of course the Captain: Nico.

After a traumatic start to his life and going down a road of crime, he is now the Captain of an infanous pirate ship at aged 26.

While his name is feared for his past crimes, those who he picks up and invites to join his crew soon see his softer and more vulnerable side, realising his true intentions (which are a secret for now hehe).

The next to be introduced is Nicos firstmate: Bellona - name meaning the Goddess of Battle.

After being hired to assassinate Nico for his crimes, she was soon invited by her victim to join his crew. And with only a few words, she agreed, now standing by his side as his most trusted crewmate.

She went from trying to kill him to being his main protection.

The navigater of ship is: Elyse.

She is the only known mage on the ship - her specific magic being perfect to plan out the ships next route and see forward enough to spot out any danger, whether that my natural or human.

With her magic being so strong, it's no surprise that Nico found her when she was in a cult, being worshipped as the link between their God.

She took a bit more persuading to join his crew.

Following Elyse is: Cyrus, the Gunner of the ship. His duty is to keep all their weapons working as they should.

He is half feline, a rare species in this world and one that is often hunted down for their ears and tails to keep as trophies.

He joined the crew the same time Elyse did after being her cults prisoner for some time. He was fortunate Elyse took a liking to him which had prolonged his fate and was even more forunate when Nico showed up when he had, immediately accepting his invite to his crew.

The helmsman of the crew: Oscar, had given up his whole life when deciding to join Nicos crew and it was all down to his friend who joined with him.

Before taking the role of helmsman, Oscar was the Captain of the Knights of one of the wealthiest kingdoms. He had it good and was respected by all he worked with and worked for.

People still ponder why he would give up that life to join a pirate crew.

Finally, last but certainly not least, the friend who joined the crew alongside Oscar is the chef: Reamon.

Just like Oscar, he also lived a cushy life in his kingdom. Being a chef for royalties - being paid fairly being respected and having plenty of time off to go with it.

However, he had always had a fascination for travel so when he had heard the infamous Caotain Nico was in the kingdom, it was actually Reamon who seeked him out.

However, Alexandra couldn’t keep her promise to herself, and she ended up falling for another Twikkiian lady who she liked even more than Cara. Her name was Carla, she had the same hair and the same dress in a different colour just to make things super not confusing.

And ehm... it was a small island I guess.

Cara: Seems like we all know each other! Alex, Carla is my cousin.

Alexandra, thinking: Oh f*ck.

Carla: Well, we’re not actually blood cousins. I know Sims from SimNation don’t always understand this. But we were raised together.

Alexandra, thinking: That makes things only a little bit less awkward.

Cara was disappointed when she realised her “friend” and her cousin were in the middle of something romantic when she interrupted them. She and Alexandra never confessed their attraction to each other, but Cara was hoping there could be something between them still. Her hopes were crushed when she saw her dance with Carla in the moonlight.

Alexandra was feeling somewhat bad too. Partly because she knew she hurt Cara, partly because she remembered Joseph waiting for her back home, and also because she fell so hard for Carla that for a while she’d completely forgotten that she came to Twikkii to spy on locals like her in the first place. And soon she was going to have to betray Carla and the whole island, too... But on this night, all that mattered was that she was on a moonlit beach with her island lover.

(out of date!) Update on the state of my Pleasantview Save.

well i am checking up on my notes on pleasantview as i was doing rotational play and i didn't get far since i reinstalled but here are the developments in my current pleasantview:  -don lothario is currently married to dina caliente. dina never married mortimer. they wanted this, apparently, even though they are both romance sims. however, in my story dina is trying to clean up her act after mortimer rejected her (that's not supposed to happen but i guess i was too late on the upkeep and their romance dwindled). maybe she's trying to "fix" don as well? probably not a great marriage -mortimer goth is still alive because i have a mod that adjusts ages so one day = one year -don left cassie at the altar (i prefer this outcome) so cassie is now married to darren dreamer with a few kids on the way -brandi had her baby. i ALWAYS name this child after his father, skip -the pleasants divorced after the kaylynn fiasco and have started a home business selling mary-sue's pottery. however, mary-sue keeps wanting to reconcile with daniel and i think i'll let her. -herb oldie has passed away, but coral has adopted a teenager because i have a mod where you can adopt homeless townies. i tried to randomize it as best i can so meadow thayer is now an oldie. cool. -the burbs had twins, ethan and felix. -kaylynn langerak is pregnant with don lothario's baby -as is a townie named carla reamon, who don lothario met during a trip to twikki island and had her move in with him. both women now live alone. great job, don.
