I stepped closer, running my wrinkled hand against Mythrir's mouth, never fearing the sharp teeth within. "When the gate opens, Vaella, get them in. I do no know how many it will hold. You must go with them. Promise me?" I do not look at her. I can't. The girl I have loved like I bore her myself. It is hard enough knowing I will be sending her to an unknown fate - but it would be worse to let her be snuffed out.

I won't lose her that way.

Mythrir snorts softly, understanding my feelings. Neither of us are prepared to let her disappear into the ether.

"I don't understand-" Vaella's voice does not break - my brave, brave girl.

"You don't need to understand, you must promise me."

"I promise."

I smile at my dear companion, my dragon - a wistful thing. But I know what I must do. We both know. Our hearts beat to the same steady pace after all, our breaths as one. We've always been one. Even as the world around them burns and crumbles and falls, as the blackness cloaks them until there is nothing left, not even ash. We came into this world together.

We would leave it together too.

As the lone knight in Edirann Icarus has proven to be very dutiful, keeping up with his archery and getting several promotions.

Naturally I have to pack and clean my house because I'm leaving in less than 24 hours and instead I'm researching historical clothing from locations I know very little about because I've got a weird brain.

Anyway, does anybody have any really good resources for the 1300s Southeast Asia? Not looking for CC more for historical images that I can then use to go on a CC hunt.
