Meeting with Princess Salome went much better than his meetings with the Blumenthal twins. She was much more appreciative of his awkwardness and he was in awe of her beauty.

When Ludwika turns up Anxo dutifully speaks with her as well - after an encouraging nod from his mother. Ludwika was curious about the man who had so witlessly insulted her twin sister and older brother, but she found herself unprepared for how sincere and boorish he was!

Despite their poor first meeting, Anxo continues writing to Nadzieja.

"I just don't know if she'd make a very good duchess."

Ursula and Alojzy make some headway in regards to a possible alliance, both thinking how their families could benefit were Nadzieja and Anxo to wed. But Anxo, while attracted to the woman, wasn't so sure.

With his lack of filter he didn't hesitate to voice his concerns about Nadzieja's somewhat dramatic temperament.

Anxo is very much a momma's boy.

After meeting all of the potential matches Anxo really only rolled the want to befriend Salome. Because she's still a teen I can't see how many bolts they have, but I know they have some.

Still, despite Ursula's skepticism about Nadzieja Blumenthal's willingness to marry, it does no harm to invite the woman over for tea. An invitation she accepts.

But will Anxo be able to charm the vain, taciturn Nadzieja?

Anxo decidedly did not worry. Not about his Dukedom, his prospects, or even his home life. Why should he? His mother was always there to take care of things and make sure all was well.

Anxo holds back a sigh as his mother picks at nonexistent lint on the back of his tunic, knowing she'll fuss until he lets her and it's best to get it over with. "We can't get to cocky now Anxo, we might be in the preferred quarters for the nobility but we're situation nowhere near close enough to the royal family."

"Yes Mother."

"I want you to make a good impression the king today, mind your manners and be polite to Princess Salome." He knows it's killing her that she wasn't invited, but this session is for titled peers of the realm only and he couldn't get her invited even if he tried... and he had tried.

"Yes Mother."

She's straightening his collar now, making sure he appears beautifully turned out as always. He knows she's right, that she's probably the shrewdest woman in the whole kingdom, and it's aggravating sometimes that he's the one having to go to all of this stuff. Why can't he just send his mother? "Thank him for our new quarters but not effusively, do you understand?"

"Of course Mother."

"You're a good boy, Anxo."

Arndt's cousin Ludwika stopped by, letting him know all the details about Anxo Drago and Nadzieja's courtship.

A lot of young women her age are currently not-so-secretly vying for the hand of Anxo Drago - and assume Cynra is too. Why would she not? A young, eligible Duke?

But Cynra has other plans. Better plans. Plans that don't involve losing her own dukedoms. Plural.

The twins finally sit down and thoroughly discuss the pros and cons of one Anxo Drago and his proposal... not that he's made one, of course, but if Nadzieja wants him there's no doubt he will propose.

Nadzieja often wakes in the morning fuming over her meeting with Anxo Drago. At this point her sister thinks it's hilarious - mostly because Nadzieja can't decide if she never wants to speak to him again or if she wants to marry the man out of spite.
