Right then, next batch of bts shots. This time for the #theterror I’ve got loads of these so I won’t drop them all now, I’ll save a few for down the line ;) First up I’m thrilled to see it has found a new home on #netflix. We are all so proud of the show and very thankful it is finally in a place plenty of people can see it. It was a labour of love to make it, 6 long cold months in Budapest and then 5 mad weeks in the sun in Croatia but we knew we were involved in something special from the very first day. That said the reception the show received from people who really took it to heart was greater than any of us dared believe. It has continued to have a life far beyond the screen and to know it’s made a lasting impact on people is just amazing. I love Jopson and all he means to fans of the show and it’s been a joy to look back on these photos and all the memories attached. So here you go…! Main pic - me as Jopson, scurvy setting in. Pic 1 - me and the main man Dave Kajganich, writer and show runner. This was taken just after shooting a moment that was maybe going to make it into the Jopson hallucination sequence but was cut from the final edit. hello. i found the answer to this problem and you will never believe it but it is that i am in fact stupid. it was my shitty secondhand thread that was the whole entire problem. i replaced it with less shitty secondhand thread and everything is running like a dream and i'm now 1/3 of the way through this quilt top !

since ive been in such a jon jarchivist mood lately but can’t do anything about it since the fic rivers aren’t flowing and the podcast is illegal, i finally dug out my ace jon fanart quilt to work on, and got all set up to make a few blocks before i crashed. and it turns out. that either my machine is stupid. or i am. and have forgotten completely how to sew by machine. because the top thread keeps getting knotted up in the bobbin casing and gunking up the whole machine and ripping holes in my fabric. and the top thread also keeps popping off the bits it’s supposed to run through. and i wasted what felt like a hundred yards of thread because of the thread vomit and restarted sewing a 2.5 inch block five times before i just. had to rage quit and walk away. so uh. i might be making another. fucking. quilt. by hand now.

I don’t think Gojo died dissatisfied, or with any regrets.

Just a personal opinion that I wrote on twitter/X but I also wanted to capture and put into words here.

I can see how and why it can be interpreted that he did die with at least 1-2 regrets. However... as I read and re-read and thought about it to the point of being overthunk (lol), I have come to conclude (for myself at the very least), that he died with peace in his heart.

First we see him grumble about being wrong about dying alone because he told Megumi this. Then, he said he had unfinished business with informing Megumi about his dad, to which being a largely accepting/stoic person (kinda like the “resignation man” thing again that Gege described him - not necessarily in a negative way) really helps, because he readily accepts that he left it to Shoko and would be taken care of on his behalf.

So with that regard, he was at peace.

Next, Gojo admitted that he couldn’t reach Sukuna, and for that, he was apologetic/sorry/regretful (Not so much disappointed, due to the usage of the phrase 申し訳なく which conveys more of a sense of humility and responsibility, rather than feelings of being let down).

This is an important one for me... because if we understand how human bodies work in real life, and also if we subscribe to some form of faith/spirituality (in this case maybe Buddhism), the physical body actually takes time to die and the soul therefore takes time to depart the body.

We see Gojo smirk at the end of Sukuna’s speech saying that Gojo had “cleared his skies” and would be remembered by him for as long as he lived.

This can be interpreted in two ways (or both) - one, that those words were conveyed and Gojo heard them, understanding that he did reach Sukuna in some way. And 2nd that he smirked knowingly that he could “bet on the future” / the next generation, with what Yuta would do with his body…

Which also aligns with his soft reaction to what Nanami said about betting on the future. Gojo did his best with his students too.

So much so that he jokes with Yaga that he was wrong about sorcerers all dying with regret!

So with the body taking time to die, I see it as something similar with what happened with Jogo and Choso - their last moments took some time to happen.

As Jogo was burning, he met with his friends and had his send-off / acknowledgment from Sukuna that he was strong, that it was fun, and that he could stand proud. Jogo died feeling he had worth and believed he would reunite with his friends.

As Choso was shielding Yuji (I’m still not recovered from this btw) he also had his send-off at the long table with Yuji. He died protecting his brother, which gave him absolute meaning and purpose as a human being and not a curse. Similar situation at the end can be said about Nanami (arguable whether the process of dying was beginning to happen with his hallucinations of being at the beach) with his brief send-off with Haibara standing before him. They were consolidating their lives at their final moments. Expressing any regret/sorry’s helped them pass on peacefully. I’ll spare you the picture of mortally wounded Nanami 😢

Another one I won’t put a pic of would be Hajime’s death where he and Sukuna have an exchange too. I don’t know if he died with regret or not, but he got his answer at the very least - what he was searching for.

As for Nobara, we see her with the chairs, her thoughts and reflections - saying her farewells / apologies, and finally concluding that her life wasn’t so bad 😢

Those with mortal wounds to the head seem to die a little more immediately, so their vision of salvation / death dream / whatever you want to call it - appears to happen a little bit earlier. But it doesn’t stray too far from the theory that a “good death” comes to some of the characters in the jjk world and it exists in a space... uhh... we can describe as “between dream and reality”??? 🫣 idk about what/who is right or wrong. We know different characters have different theories about things - just like in real life I guess. Nevertheless I (as a reader) want to believe there is some kind of afterlife.

Back on topic: Gojo’s other “disappointment” was that he wished that Geto was there to “pat him on the back”. He would have been satisfied if Geto was there.

And now, well, Geto was there. Flowery speech bubbles and all. So I think the fact that he was with him as a soul, reunited, was enough of a pleasant surprise.

Enough for Gojo to go into “husband is home from a hard day’s work - time to let go and grumble” (lol). And Geto wasn’t a flower because Gojo wanted him to understand him, so I can see how this was satisfying for Gojo, who felt he wanted to catch up to Geto.

Narratively/Thematically it also makes sense that Gojo was at Geto’s end (sending him off), and Geto was at Gojo’s end (picking him up). You know... “you’re late”x2 “you’re early”? “I was left behind”x2 “I have to catch up?” (These two were just busy chasing each other).

Yeah. It wouldn’t take away the satisfaction over all that happened just because Geto wasn’t there to pat him on the back - because then dying would leave him behind. And crucially, Gojo prayed that being there at the airport wasn’t a dream. So he was satisfied with being reunited and being there with everyone.

My conclusion is basically this: I think that Gojo fully died physically when he smirked. A human body left to bleed out with a wound like that would take time to stop functioning. But we know that mercifully he was mostly dead, which was why his consciousness was at the airport. Arguably, where his soul needed to be. He would’ve internalised Sukuna’s message as his body physically died, which could explain why it reacted.

So if we believe that it wasn’t just a hallucination and there is an afterlife (there are many reasons to believe there is, with talk of soul resonance, reincarnation, etc.), just as how Geto knew Gojo fought Sukuna, the souls in the afterlife have awareness of what goes on in the world of the living.

I’m pretty certain that one way or another, Gojo would have received the knowledge that Sukuna had praise for him, even if he couldn’t reach him with his humanity. So there were essentially no “regrets”.

Gojo was satisfied with having left the information for Megumi for Shoko to deliver, with how he died in battle to someone stronger, that he was able to satisfactorily go all out & felt he had fun, that Sukuna acknowledged him, that he could bet on the future, and that he was also reunited with Geto & his friends from his youth.

Yes, so… I believe that Gojo died satisfied.

🥲 RIP Gojo Satoru. I hope you and Geto have a good time in the afterlife.

to get us on the scoreboard, we had a goal by the amazing, the talented, the ‘leaves his socks on the bathroom floor’, LIL JIZZY!!! now, i’m not one to brag, but THAT’S THE GUY WHO HOGS MY BLANKETS AND I AM SO PROUD! we also have a picture of him side-eyeing me at the bench and then looking directly at me. that’s the face of love, people!

but before that goal could take place, maraschino cherry got put in timeout. BOO!! but don’t worry guys, he was given a stern talking to during intermission! he told me he’s gonna be a good boy now!

immediately after marinara’s sin bin placement, my favorite dilh was the victim of a giant toddler attack 😡 but rest assured, bradytkachuk was put in the naughty boy box as well! which is what led to my spectacular boyfie’s goal!

not long after that goal, woodchuck had a fight with said giant toddler… he did not win.

then, my bestest friend, brattman scored the third goal of the night! i rewarded him with the biggest and bestest hug i had to offer during 2nd intermission!

following that, dawson’s creek hit ‘em with a one timer that knocked their pads off! he was rewarded with a pat on the head! i, however, did not get a picture of him because he was hiding from my camera… he’s spending too much time with jackson.

in the final period, ham sammich taught the senators how to dougie! LET’S GO! happy for you douglas!

and to close the game, we had an empty net goal by my father that is not my father; TATAR SAUCE!

overall, i am so proud of the effort put forth from my team that i put together myself and pay out of pocket to entertain me! let’s go to the playoffs boys!

My Kith'rak Voss cosplay armour and silver sword details!

So over the summer most of you know I made a cosplay of Voss' armour, including his silver sword. And here's a thread of it all, but details. I'm making some improvements to it as I'm wearing it again next month, but just mostly to the leather bits, and re-doing the back piece.

I think I'm most proud of the sword, even if it's wonky in places. Going to stabilise the handle and top part before end of Nov too.

I made the entire armour (exluding the shoulders) from a pattern I made from ducktaping my body, so it all pretty much fits really well.

And the breastplate was extremely comfortable and imo, looked really good. There's some damage to the seams at the edge that needs fixed.

The bracers were the first things I made but the last things I detailed because I had no idea how tf to do that (drew on with my rotary tool in the end) and the knee armour (stupid) were the 2nd things I made.

A very awkward shape to construct but they turned out really nice.

I think I made the shoulders too big, but they look so nice lol.

I need to figure out how to better attach them to my body, they were a nightmare to wear. I think I've figured it out, but.....hmmm.

I think I'm most pleased with the hip plate/belt combo of the armour. It looks so nice all together and sits on my body really nice.

Detailing these drove me bonkers for some reason idk just so many curves to sand lmao (there's a second one underneath).

Really love all the belt bits. Another lot I'm figuring out how to attach to me better. Because any bending or lots of movement and they were falling down. Just, attachments of the armour was my whole weak point. Fixing all of that for Nov.

Detailing the greaves was absolute hell LOL. So much sanding and noise and dust and curves and cutting and sanding my nails and knuckles off.

But, they look nice.

The whole thing was one of the biggest labours of love I've ever done and I would do it all over again just for Voss.

part 3 is finally here!! sorry it took so long to post, I got hit with a bad case of writers block.

I was thinking wether or not doing this post, well... Fuck it.

Couple of weeks ago I saw The Penalty (1920) and there were some instances in which my rotten brain was like "Damn... This makes me think about Erik."

For example:

For obvious reasons.

Context: The antagonist (Blizzard, who is played by Lon Chaney btw) is saying this to Barbara (who's the daughter of the dr that crippled him as a kid, because of medical malpractice, aka cutting both of his legs as a mistake) beforse confessing his "love" for her (he wanted to get revenge on her father).

THIS ONE:

So... Barbara was an artist, she was trying to make a sculpture of Satan and was using Blizzard as model, the thing is... To make that scupture they had to meet a lot of times and during those meetings they talked about art and whatnot and he was starting to become some sort of mentor figure to her... This Satan sculpture was important because she wanted to create something she could really be proud of and remembered for (before starting that work she was feeling unfullfilled). She wanted to create this statue before marring her father's assintant (who was being all bitchy "How much do I still have to wait for you).

So this piece of dialogue makes me think about the relationship between Christine and Erik, how he was guiding (go where i shall point) her and how he was going to laungh her career (Your place among the stars), how he was a mentor figure for a Christine that had recently lost her father and still in her grief feeling lost (sorry for the repetition), making no progress, in a vulnerable position and believing blindly the story about the Angel of Music.

Both women were manipulated (even tho for different reasons)

Also the way Blizzard acted when Barbara laughted at his face when he confessed his "love"; I can't make a clip rn, but it's between the 1:03:57 and 1:06:50 marks of the movie.

Now... The way Blizzard gets his redemption is absolutely horrible (the same doctor that had cut off Blizzard's legs performed a BRAIN SURGERY, because apparently Blizzard was evil because of a fucking concussion. I HATE THIS SM!!!!), THO this works pretty well with Erik especially considering what it is told us at the end of the novel.

ASOCAS3!!!!

I’m so unbelievably overjoyed that I was able to attend this year’s ASOCAS! It was a last minute decision but well worth it! I really hope I can go to ASOCAS 4!

I was so excited to have 2 photo shoots with Jack!!! I was so nervous to meet him but he was so sweet! I originally had 1 photo shoot with him but because Kit and Freddy canceled and we couldn’t do the Wesper and Crows photo shoot Empire Conventions refunded those purchases and I decided to get 2 photo shoots with Jack, a selfie with him, and two signatures! Refund money well spent!!!

When Jack signed my photo he said it turned out really cute!!! I almost squealed! He is an absolute treasure!

I decided to add some cute emojis to the pic I took of the the 2nd photo! Had to include pride emojis in there 🖤🩶🤍💜🏳️‍🌈

Also I want to thank Zarunia for providing the badges, name tags, and the folders to the team members. It didn’t even cross my mind to bring a folder for the photo shoot photos. It was truly a life saver!

For the selfies they took 3 quick pics with my phone. My eyes were closed for the first one but at least I got 2 cute selfies!

I was originally planning to have Kit sign Jesper’s quote but Jack was kind enough to sign both Wylan and Jesper’s quotes! I’m a little sad that his signature got a little smudged on the glossy paper 😭 I had actually thought about bringing a blank sheet to prevent that but i forgot orz I’m still really happy he signed my Six of Crows book though

Finally I want to thank Empire Convention and the Hyatt Regency Paris Étoile for holding the convention, as well as all the amazing actors!!!

Special thanks the amazing convention staff who saw my cane and immediately directed me to the disability access line and gave me a disability pass even though I hadn’t registered for one! When I bought my ticket the translator on my phone said that they required a disability pass and in the US I don’t qualify for one because I can walk a certain number of steps without my cane. But the staff was very nice and accommodating stating it wasn’t a problem

Distracted fire soccer-buuny burns down Oz. 💀

My 2nd fave Oz character after Scarecrow, Tin Man (voiced by JP Karliak), with my fave Pokémon, Cinderace (voiced by Casey Mongillo)! 😊

I loved drawing Tinny; it was like drawing Superactivated Robotboy! Bulky metal bois.

Cinderace became so interested in Tin Man's heart ticker that he completely forgot about his Pyro Ball that he was kicking around prior to their meeting. 💀

This was also my first time drawing Tin Man from Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz! And my 8th time drawing Cinderace. 🗿

I included the sketch and line art (done in Adobe Illustrator; coloring was done in Photoshop)! I'm really pleased and proud of how each phase of this pic turned out. 😭🙏🏻

This was an enjoyable crossover to do of 2 of my fave shows! I'd love to also draw Cinderace meeting Scarecrow!😊

Day 1

Finished up Day 1! We fit everyone's costumes (minor tweaks, wig styling, everything's almost set shockingly) and gave a make up lesson (hoping for a total of three!). Very proud of everyone in the cast for a great first go! Also apparently everyone likes my references and there was a "YOU LIKE DC? WAIT, DC OR MARVEL?" I thought they were all gonna jump me when I said DC but turns out they were all DC fans!

I learned I'm not permitted to share pics until after opening night so 2nd/3rd I'll post some. I took a few today from fittings. Super proud of some Grizz changes. Jenny didn't want to take off her tap suit. A few actors had major character revelations today and REALLY got it.

And I found out that I get to bedazzle Misto's shoes!!! <3 (We went through my rhinestone kit together so he could be a part of the decision and I wanted to make sure to know what size would be the largest safely since I could go smaller as he tumbles--I think he's at 15 or 17 clean turns, not sure exactly).

Cast is overall really nice. Dance captain is Rumple and she's fantastic. Cass just LOOKS like Cass.

It's also super queer for the sensuality part of the ball, with m/m and f/f (yes!) pairings.

I hope you can bear with me for another uh... week and a half? For pics. I really thought BTS would be fine but I want to respect company policy of course!

I'm also delighted as on a personal note, some of my dear friends who I haven't seen since around our wedding moved to Florida and will be coming. I miss them!
