I have said this before but I am always grateful for everyone who's supported me in any shape or form, whether donos, comms, shares, and even nice comments and asks and sweet interactions. With all the current things happening, it is hard to be an artist as the years go by.

I am not able to reply to everything, but everyone who has been nice to me is cherished in a warm cosy place near my heart.

Many of you who have grown up with me through the years have gotten me through so much, saved me from homelessness and helped me heal when I could otherwise not have been able to do on my own. Even if it's just a small chat, a share - they mean very much to me. I wish you all blessings for the days ahead. Mwah mwah mwah

Parhu viekeš (par'•hoo•vyeh•kesh)

A certain type of parhu, often associated with those of immigrant/nomad descent.

The story goes like this: A group of homesick immigrants were invited to a feast by the local god. Everyone else would wear jewels that set each of their clothes apart. The immigrants, not having riches to do so with their usual earth-coloured wear, decided to weave new clothing. Using the local dyes, they worked for six nights and a day, weaving intricate patterns that shone like precious stones—only creating enough material for a young man to attend the god's party. Saddened they could not come to the feast, they sent him anyway, wishing him well.

The god, upon seeing the result, was positively awed by its patterns; as well as the love and care put into it, that they promptly went into the homes of the immigrants and touched all of their robes—transforming them to be as beautiful and unique as the one they have toiled over. And with that, each of them had a beautiful robe that rivalled and yet complimented the locals at the feast.

Today the parhu viekeš is a symbol of pride for those who wear it.

Update, my C: drive is fucked and overheating so I'm down for a few days while I get Betsy flushed and reinstall all my programs......ouuuaghhh

I should've upgraded my drive at *least* a year ago but it's been a battle of unhealthy worl-life balance and my budget o(-( thankfully we had some room to do fixing but it'll have to delay my move...again.......sigh

realised we don't have an AU of Dom and Ads as parents and. Well. Now it's got me thinking

Dom as a deer hunter chasing down his prey, following the blood spots on the forest floor, coming to a clearing and finding a pretty young thing keeled over in pain, bloodied wound in his thigh

Takes the nymph home and takes care of him. (he's strange and skittery, as deer are, but it is endearing to Dom)

The years pass and the nymph learns fast how to pass as human. Ads speaks well and they simply tell everyone he's from a different culture, and in a tiny rural town like theirs, it's quickly understood. He takes a job as an assistant to a florist.

And of course they fall in love. There isn't else much to do in a story like this.

When the first signs of pregnancy comes, Dom is ecstatic— he's done near everything but be a father, it feels like an achievement. Girl or boy or whatever, they simply decide to just find out when it happens. He builds another room in the house.

And the day comes. And he sits in the corner in the delivery room, anxious as his wife scrunches his face in pain and pushes and pushes

And out comes a fawn. Not a faun— an honest to god fawn with spotted fur and four hooves and large deep black eyes, and everyone's a bit befuddled but they move on. Except Dom, who immediately has a crisis. No, that is simply not possible. He couldn't have fathered an animal. Did his wife run back to the forest when he wasn't looking, somehow? He does not sleep all night, staring hard at the nursery crib beside Ads who is passed out. The fawn is curled up, fluffy now that it's been warmed and towel dried

It doesn't age like a real fawn would.

Ads insists it truly is his child.

He does not contest it.

They haven't named it yet, as names aren't much of a thing in the silence of the forest. Many deer go by their lives with no names at all. Ads took his name when he began to pass as human. And so, it was Dom's responsibility to figure it out.

Most of it were variations of names like The Kid, Hey You, and Shhh.

Over the next few months, The Kid liked its toys and took to baby food just fine. It was healthy, albeit wobbly when it trotted about the house, following Ads as he's enjoying his little maternity leave, having plenty of neighbourhood ladies come by and pinch its cheeks and say what a cute little baby it is

And when Ads' leave is over and he goes back to work, The Kid took to sitting by the window and observing its father as he cleaned his rifles and built furniture and beautiful gunstocks in the backyard

And Dom hates it sometimes, because he's often staring down at his work, holds it in his hands to see if it weighs just fine, takes aim to see if he's cut it straight— at the end of the forearm he'd find himself aiming at The Kid

It's also why he hates to hold it sometimes as well. He does the minimum to make sure Ads is happy, cradling The Kid and feeling it nuzzle into his chest. A thin neck that he could snap with one hand.

Okay, without trying to take away from the joy we are feeling, we must stay vigilant. This ceasefire deal is 3 phases, the first is a 42 day pause for hostage exchange which is set to start on SUNDAY, as long as Netanyahu’s cabinet signs off on it. The IOF is not expected to fully retreat from Gaza, but stay to ‘mandated zones’. Palestinians are meant to be able to return to their homes, but with Israeli soldiers still there, this is not a guarantee. The 600 aid trucks a day into Gaza during this 42 day phase 1 is still not enough.

THIS IS NOT OVER. We do not know the details of phase 2 and 3, and nothing has been agreed for these phases in writing. We must not get complacent in this moment of respite. Please, do not stop fighting. This is not over until every Palestinian can return home, until the occupation is gone, until all of Palestine is free.

Keep protesting and campaigning, keep donating because aid organisations need all the help they can get, especially in the next 6 weeks, and it might be the only window people get to evacuate. This is a step in the right direction, but it is not over.

New Year, New Me(me)

Hi everyone 🥺 so sorry to do this right before the holidays but once again I am asking for help in footing some vet bills for my dogs

As some of you may know, we have 7 dogs. There was a mite outbreak in my area quite recently and they all got infected, some of them developing scabs and rashes and losing hair... I was saving up to get them all treatment but the medicine (bravecto) costs around 1300 php and I had to prioritise one of my dogs, Gaspar, because he wounded an eyeball. It's difficult for me to keep up because on top of my house bills, I have to give them all treatment at the same time, otherwise the mites come back OTL... today, my girl rottie, Emma, just gave birth out of nowhere and we weren't aware at all. I have been pushing to get her neutered but my family would not allow it as she is a senior. The puppy wants to feed but she cannot latch as Em's nips are too swollen for her. I was able to get her to latch onto one of my other smaller dogs but I can't do it for too long as the dog rejects her :,(

My family aside from my mom are also very uninvolved with pet care, and the best my mom can do is assist with feeding the dogs. I'm not sure if I can give the dogs away to better homes because I could get punished. The best I can do is give them some immediate care for now while I try to stabilise my situation

At the moment I am still working on a queue of commissions and I'm not very sure about advertising them right now, but I am very grateful for any donos - 1 usd ≈ 50 php so everything super duper helps.

If ypu'd like, you may also ask for doodles from me via my ko-fi. I'm hoping to raise around 10k-13k php so I can cover some basic medicines and vet bills. I don't even have plans to provide for the family for the holidays at this point, I just want the dogs to get better
