It is with a heavy heart that I take up my pen to write these, the last words in which I shall ever record the singular gifts by which my friend Mr. Sherlock Holmes was distinguished. In an incoherent and, as I deeply feel, an entirely inadequate fashion, I have endeavored to give some account of my strange experiences in his company. It was my intention to have said nothing of that event which has created a void in my life which the lapse of two years has done little to fill. My hand has been forced, however.

It lies with me to tell for the first time what really took place between Professor Moriarty and Mr. Sherlock Holmes...

i got my isbn today for the book. 8 months to go. my mom and i were talking about what the next steps are. i was eating trail mix, standing on one foot, phone tucked into my ear.

"yeah," i said. "the problem is that tumblr as a market is like, not something that can be studied." there's this weird wave of nostalgia and affection for this place that came up over me: how lovely we avoid consumerism. okay, it sucks as a creator. but also? keep stickin' it to 'em.

my mother made the sound at the back of her throat that i also make, the one that means i've got an idea. "you should figure out some kind of reward for presale amounts. maybe you give out poems or a mug or a signed book or something. would your followers like that?" my mother is sweet, and kind, and i have no idea how to explain on this website you can buy someone crabs.

i put more m&ms down the hatch. i had to speak through peanuts and almonds. "if it passes 25 thousand i will print the book out in its entirety and eat it live on camera."

"oh god. no, you don't have to do that." she was anguished. "just tell them that you'd love them to read it, and that they've inspired you to write. you got started on that site, and they helped you keep going. raquel, you love these people. the community? you talk all the time about the other writers and artists and whatever else. tell them that you're hoping for their support, they'll come through."

"no," i assured her. i discovered i had dropped an m&m, but an ant had already found it, so it belonged to him now. i will let his little life have a surprise blue treasure in it, too. "i'm gonna fuckin' eat the book."

haha heehee no way PKJ would traumatize Damian further!! no way another adult figure that sees the good in Damian and wants him to flourish would be killed right before his eyes!! not so soon after Damian just failed a little girl as Robin!! but now an even more brutal loss as a civilian, where these horrors surely wouldn’t reach him!! all while the killer mocks him in rhyme!!

HEEHEE HAHA… and Damian was already having nightmares about Emma?? is this boy going to get any sleep after this.

while Damian is being put through the wringer, this is admittedly. incredible events transpiring lol. Damian is being pushed to his emotional limits - shame over his weaknesses, betrayal over his father’s trust in him, guilt over Emma and oh boy now Bashar, and grief too ig!!

as much as i’m weeping over the pain he’s going through, i’m clawing at the walls to see how Damian’s going to process all of this and develop from it. how he’s going to keep moving forward and still fight as Robin?? how this influences his civilian future??

anyway, obsessed with Lucy the macaque casually climbing onto Damian’s shoulder mid conversation lol he’s so used to Alfred doing it (who is still noticeably absent :( he deserves all his buddies giving him a cuddle pile by the end of everything)

Book Fiyero: *immediately recognizes Elphaba and stations himself at the backdoor to prevent her from evading him, stalks her halfway across town to her aerie (even though at that point in time she was only a college friend he hadn’t seen in five years), insists on seeing her again, instinctively goes to comfort her when she first cries, gets sucked into increasingly deep and fraught conversations with her about collateral damage and freedom fighter terrorism, calls her the “most individual, the most separate, the most real” DURING AN ARGUMENT, says he adores Elphaba’s looks IN THAT SAME ARGUMENT, doesn’t understand Elphaba’s “being born with a talent or an inclination for goodness is the aberration” comment because (implied) he sincerely believes Elphaba isn’t evil, changes his mind about the plight of the Animals all by himself but doesn’t mention it to Elphaba because he is afraid she would distance himself from him, buys scarves for both his wife and Elphaba even though only Elphaba likes scarves, is so concerned for Elphaba and her dangerous Lurlinemas Eve mission that he stalks her instead of staying at his club or just leaving town altogether, and is so worried about her that he returns to the aerie just to see her*

shinichi learning french cause he wants to understand what kaito, who's fluent in it, is saying. his accent is not perfect cause he doesn't often speak it, he just likes to listen to kaito speak it, likes to be able to understand french songs or shows kaito likes, likes to be able to understand kaito's interviews and read articles of him in french. just want to understand better the love kaito has for france, the roots of kaitou kid, and share that affection for the things he loves.

Behind her, four small figures emerged.

Rowan fell to his knees.

The tallest: a girl with golden hair and pine-green eyes, solemn-faced and as proud as her mother. The boy beside her, nearly her height, smiled at him, warm and bright, his Ashryver eyes near-glowing beneath his cap of silver hair.

The boy next to him, silver-haired and green-eyed, might as well have been Rowan's twin.

And the smallest girl, clinging to her mother's legs ... A fine-boned, silver-haired child, little more than a babe, her blue eyes harking back to a lineage he did not know.

Children. His children. Their children.

With another mere weeks from being born.

His family.

The family he might have, the future he might have. The most beautiful thing he'd ever seen.

"It's slower," | whisper.

"There's no magic here." He tugs me against him. "No power. No lure. No taunting reminder that I can save everyone if I just reach for it and take what's offered. It's only...peace."

For the first time since fetching the luminary, I seriously debate Tecarus's offer.

I can't really put it into words but Gangle throwing off her mask (ep 4) reminded me a lot of Pomni trying to get out of the exit (ep 1)

The music direction and the vibe were like same/similar but one was evil (until the door opened) and one was good (until the truck came by)? Idk what this could mean (it's 11:30pm I'm tired) but I'm thinking about it rotating it there's something there. They happen at similar timestamps too.

Also (because of the above AND the overwhelming B+ grade AND some other things) I'm thinking the circus is hitting the.. [purgatory/sisyphus/the good place/ride the cyclone/not quite truly dead yet] points in my brain. Idk tho this is just vibes! This category of things. And I think the point behind the purgatory is something to do with "correctly" completing the adventures. Which is to say incorrectly. Prove humanity by being human (unpredictable/sporadic/neurotic/angry/panicked). Or something.

Reading TGCF for the first time

So it begins!

For anyone interested, this will be my chapter-by-chapter read through (for the first time) of Heaven Official's Blessing complete with notes.

NO SPOILERS PLS I literally know nothing about the plot other than the summary

Do not admonish my character thoughts in the moment. Pls keep in mind that this is my first experience with the content- If I say something seemingly out of pocket about a character that is later resolved with context- let me keep reading and correct/check myself later.

If you want to correct me on a big oops I made because of not understanding the content or making an error because of me having a lack of cultural/historical competence, dm me! I will learn and correct.

I am always open to supplementary material 👏 if there is other content that explains choices relevant to the parts I'm on- pls feel free to send it my way! I especially love queer history related things that inspired/informed the plot

I cannot tell you how excited I am to cry about these two. I fully expect to since it is MXTX and I have been told this is the most sad story out of her three stories (do not correct me, let me live with this thought so at least I am prepared for the worst).
