i couldn't imagine my ask would spark this much discussion from other anons. And im not a jw shipper like that anon accused me, i've been here since sticker era. it's just like huh check the timeline, it's 50/50 now, i won't discuss about it until there's more info about it.
Anyway, i really like the way mischievous jh randomly (the vid was cut but still) said he didn't need a coffee truck (to support him during the filming of his drama) but his full face looked at dy with full of anticipation haha and doyoung looked at him like "??" but to our surprise, johnny said he's already ordered (a coffee truck) for jh (im not sure he's being serious or not). I wonder if dy will send one to jh soon.
Since you're busy and maybe you haven't watched all the content during dy solo yet, there are 2 little things i notice. 1 is when dy slipped and mentioned jh name instead of saying 'suggest' (재현 - 제안) https://twitter.com/panyeey/status/1782331563679846828?t=Q5Cw71Be-jnGvsCLub0Lxw&s=19 i think if other idols mentioned another members name by mistake like this, normally they would laugh it off and make a funny joke to ease the atmosphere, but dy looks panic right away, stutter and repeat the correct words 2 more times haha why you have to be so nervous bunny lol remind me of the time he did it once during sticker era too lol
the 2nd one is johnny is on a good terms with dy, with how he was being mentioned by dy a lot, the part of he's a drink mate along with mk hc dy could pay an important part of their friendship
Miscommunications happen. It is especially easy to be misunderstood on i-net, where we have only text as means of communication and language barrier/cultural differences. Everyone should simply keep it in mind and give their opponents and conversationists some slack, not get all defensive right away.
I haven't watched solo promotional and new 127 content yet. Only the MV and some performances on music shows, Dingo, etc.
Link
Funny. It happens, when a name is said every day many times, so misplacements of similar words happen.
28:13
The woman on the background left, and the cameraman in black changed to a manager with a phone, Jaehyun finished eating, so enough time was cut off.
Tae didn't react to Jae's words, he was focused on texting on the phone. Do was alarmed. Taeil was ready to see an episode of his romcom, Woo lifted his head to focus on the people talking and understand what's the new topic, Yuta was distracted by his own thoughts, Johnny answered instantly.
Which makes me think Johnny and Jae had been talking about his drama. Maybe the food truck Jae sent to the staff. Johnny reacted too quickly, he continued on the topic he was involved in.
Johnny said "Already ordered", by Korean rules there was no pronoun. It can be I/we/someone. However, seeing the conversation and reactions, it was Johnny who sent it. There was a short moment, when Jaehyun seriously asked "Really?" (his back of the head to the camera, focus on JN). What's interesting is that JN was talking to Doyoung about the truck, heh. Yes, I ordered a truck for your boyfriend. Even Yuta got confused and said his joke to the wrong person.
JN was serious, he talked about choosing and sending a picture. ANd editors highlighted him with "what a man" comment. I expect the truck will be reveiled later.
But back to Jaehyun-ie. Yes, he was super cute being so sly, hinting he wants a food truck again from Doyoung. It was Johnny saying he will send a food truck, but Jaehyun looked sideways at Do.
Do's expression sends me. Jaehyun just earned himself something, because Do's face screams he miscalculated/forgot and needs to correct the situation. Some big gift is on the way.
Lol, It's been how many years, and Jaehyun is not different from that time he was saying it's OK to not receive anything from Doyoung on his BD, that he didn't anticipate, ShowChamp PDnims' congratulations were enough.

I'm an editor and I've been thinking about putting a "this is how to make my life easier" sheet for agents and I could use an agent opinion to tell if this is going to go over badly. I've noticed especially more seasoned agents don't respond well to being told to do something they don't usually do so idk.
This sheet would include things like these are the genres I never want, this is what I need material wise, this is my timeline so pls don't nudge before X, this is what I always need in every manuscript etc.
Is that too presumptuous? I'm struggling immensely with wasted time because I practically never get correctly targeted submissions paired with the right material and I could be soooo much faster if I did, like I could decline everything in under a week vs months. What do you think?
My first instinct is to say YES PLEASE THAT SOUNDS AMAZING!!! Like a "wishlist +" kind of thing! The more info we have the better. It's not going to stop every agent from sending you bullshit -- but it WILL help the thoughtful agents be even more thoughtful and hopefully result in more targeted submissions and people taking your preferences into account.
So I sat with it for a few to try and suss out why an agent might NOT want this or react badly to this... I think as long as it comes across as genuine -- like "this is what I'm wishing for, this is what I will never like, this is what my workflow looks like, help me help you" -- I can't see anyone having a problem with it, as long as it doesn't come across like you are being bossy or complaining.
("You dum-dum agents never send me what I want so I'm going to give you a lesson on how to do your job" would NOT go over well, in other words! -- but "I'm so excited to connect with you and see great projects -- this is what I'm dying to see, and this is what's NOT a fit, and this is how I prefer to see submissions etc!" is a good thing!)
I'd also suggest, re the nudging, that you set up a sort of canned "auto-response" that you can just plug in -- so when an agent first sends you something you can respond to acknowledge receipt right away and say in that response what your timeline is looking like, when you expect to get back to them, and please don't nudge before then unless there's an offer or something. Honestly that would probably save everyone a lot of headache!
(And then if/when you send a decline, send your wishlist with it!)

How ‘VPR’ Producers Convinced Raquel Leviss to Come Clean in Bombshell Final Minutes of the Reunion
Mehera Bonner
The last moments of the Vanderpump Rules reunion were absolutely s-h-o-c-k-i-n-g due to Raquel Leviss sitting down with a producer and coming clean about the extent of her affair with Tom Sandoval. Not only did Raquel reveal that she and Tom had slept together multiple times in Mexico, she said they hooked up while Ariana Madix was out of town for her grandmother’s funeral.
Watching the footage, it was pretty clear that Raquel wanted to finally tell the truth—despite Tom Sandoval encouraging her not to—and Vanderpump Rules EP Alex Baskin told the Hollywood Reporter how the reveal went down.
“She started talking to the interviewer, our showrunner Jeremiah Smith, and clearly, this was weighing really heavily on her,” he explained. “This was something that she wanted to get off her chest. Something she had to purge. That’s how it all naturally happened, and you see their conversation play out.”

Ultimately, the truth came out when Smith asked her pointed questions: “I think the extent of which she talked about it was a function of her comfort with production and production being so versed in the set of events that happened that they continued to ask her pointed questions that caused her to just completely reveal everything she had been living with.”
Baskin also confirmed that Raquel left the interview not knowing how Tom Sandoval would react:
“I don’t think she knew where that was headed. I think she did this for herself and felt like she had to do it. And it’s kind of heartbreaking. She says she knew that, obviously, he was going to be really upset, and she said he is kind of all that she had at that point. But I don’t think she felt she had a choice, so her feeling was that she had to get it off her chest, and if that ended up costing her what was going on between them, this was still something she had to do. She just had to unburden herself.”
Tom hasn’t publicly reacted to Raquel’s confession yet, and it’s unclear if they’re still in touch.
Mehera Bonner is a celebrity and entertainment news writer who enjoys Bravo and Antiques Roadshow with equal enthusiasm, She was previously entertainment editor at Marie Claire and has covered pop culture for over a decade.

Are You in the Facebook Desert? My friends, do you find yourself often feeling like you are in a desert on Facebook? If so, believe me when I say that I understand you completely; particularly the discouragement that some of you feel in regards to friend participation on Facebook. I feel it too. Myself, I have just under 5,000 Facebook friends. However, close observation over the years has shown me that only 300-400 take some degree of interest in my posts. Even worse, only a few dozen people engage in regular to semi-regular participation with my work. It might interest you to know that many others have reported this same thing, and it is always the same small group of friends who participate. Sometimes I even wonder how many of them are real people, and not just Facebook bots who are pretending to be people. For example, participation on my Facebook page is about zero. But get this: Prior to November of 2017 when Facebook began making adjustments to their algorithms, I used to get dozens, hundreds, and in some cases, even several thousand reactions — likes, shares and comments — PER POST on my page. Yes, for each and every post. Beginning in November of 2017, interaction and participation began to drop like a rock in a matter of a few days. My timeline has also pretty much become a dead man’s land with very little participation. Most activity occurs in the Bill's Bible Basics group, but even that is far from stellar. But my friends, as I explained before, the problem is NOT necessarily with your friends not liking you, not caring about you, and not being interested in the things which you post. The REAL problem, as far as I can tell, is with Facebook itself and their algorithms, their attitudes towards Christians and conservative viewpoints, and their d-i-s-c-r-i-m-i-n-a-t-o-r-y practices against us. This begins with their army of liberal-minded editors. In short, one of the BIG reasons why — like me — you seem to be out in the desert alone most of the time, is because Facebook has sandboxed us for the most part, and is NOT allowing others to see our posts. I know this for a fact, because my friends have repeatedly told me so. They simply think that I am participating less on Facebook because they see less of my work in their news feed. However, this is NOT true. I normally make hundreds of posts each and every month. Now think about this: Your friends cannot possibly react to your posts, if they aren’t even seeing your posts. It makes sense, right? Yes, YOU will see your posts, but most others will not, because Facebook has you sandboxed. It is an i-l-l-u-s-i-o-n. Aside from the d-i-s-c-r-i-m-i-n-a-t-i-o-n against us, I am convinced that it is also a business ploy that Facebook purposely uses to try to pressure us and e-n-t-i-c-e us into spending money on ads. If you doubt my word regarding this issue, spend $100 on an ad campaign and see what happens. All of a sudden, you will reach more people and get more likes and comments. But beware, because even their ad campaigns are a s-c-a-m. Again, I know from experience that while running an ad may possibly result in quick reactions and comments, ads will garner you very few real friends in the long term. Once you stop paying for the ad, all of that traffic just dries up and disappears. So was spending the money really worth it? Whatever you do, as hard as it may be at times, don't let discouragement overcome you, because that is EXACTLY what the enemy wants you to do. That is, to throw up your hands in defeat and say "What's the use? Nobody cares. Nobody reacts to what I post. Why am I wasting so much of my time here if it is not bearing any fruit?" Before you give in to that ruse, remember this: "For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Isaiah 55:10-11, KJV "He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him." Psalm 126:6, KJV "Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days." Ecclesiastes 11:1, KJV "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Galatians 6:9, KJV "But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing." 2 Thessalonians 3:13, KJV So if you reach even one person, isn’t it worth it? If even one person is blessed and encouraged by your work on Facebook, or on any other social network for that matter, isn’t it worth it? If even one person comes to the Lord as a result of what you do here, isn’t it worth it? https://www.billkochman.com/Blog/index.php/are-you-in-the-facebook-desert/?feed_id=254550&Are%20You%20in%20the%20Facebook%20Desert%3F

The Phantom Edit
It was May 1999, and so much was going on. We were about to have the New Year’s Eve party of the century, and the wait was over. Yes, George Lucas released A FOURTH Star Wars movie, the Phantom Menace. Finally!!!
I was working at a medical device company at the time, and I ducked out to watch the movie a week after it opened. How was this astounding creation? Plain awful. Really? George Lucas is a talented filmmaker with credits, awards, and accomplishments significant enough to fill a warehouse. It’s all true, but those accolades did not save the movie.
Why? I mean, the film had everything. Fantastic graphics, Skywalker sound, endless budgets, big-name actors, and the best director/screenwriters ever. This creation comfortably rested on the foundation of cinema’s most astounding science fiction creation. All true, but the premise, plot, characters, and film direction were lacking.
The drive back to work was depressing. Plus, I was out five bucks (it was a manatee). Well, that’s that. I watched a bad movie and nothing can be done. Except there was. One person decided to fix the problems. Mike J. Nichols is a professional Hollywood film editor who edited a VHS copy of The Phantom Menace. His effort included trimming/rearranging scenes, changing dialog, adding the deleted scenes, and limiting exposition.
The result he titled The Phantom Edit nearly eliminated the worst part of the film, the notorious Jar Jar character. The resulting edit had a snappier pace, the plot made sense, and most importantly, the edit was in line with the prior Star Wars movies. And the fans/critics agreed that Mike had rescued a good story from an awful film.
This was the first fan edit that was widely shared over the internet. Star Wars geeks like me spent hours downloading this creation because the internet was slow then, but the movie studio and George Lucas reacted differently. They were furious and used every conceivable resource to bury this fan edit, but their efforts had an unintended outcome called the Streisand Effect. Then is when somebody complains about their obscure issue, and the resulting publicity aggravates their problem. In this case, more people downloaded it.
But that was kind of it. This fan edit was a tiny bump in cinema history that is nearly forgotten. However, this effort inspired many people to do their own fan edits of popular films. La La Land without the singing? Jaws in reverse, where the shark saves the beach? A Star Wars/Pulp Fiction mix? How about a heavy-metal Star Wars holiday special? A decent version of Howard the Duck? A happy version of Twelve Angry Men? You can get it all here:
Fan edits generally fall into two categories. The first corrects flaws by deleting unnecessary material or adding back the deleted scenes. The second is when editors create something new. I wish I had sat in the movie theater to see a fun fifteen-minute version of The Thin Red Line. That’s two dreary hours I am not going to get back.
What does this have to do with me? I have never heard of a fan editing a popular book, so that should not be a problem. But I admit it. I spend hours daydreaming about one of my stories, making it to the big screen. Would there be a fan edit?
Somebody could limit my character backgrounds. A comedy version might be interesting. What about a reorganized timeline? Eliminating characters? Removing the romance? Turning a drama into an action story? Changing the villain into a hero? An X-rated version? A disco version? How about a Star Wars mash-up? I guess that could work.
Would I be upset if a fan edited my book? I think it is important for an author to understand what it means to publish. Once something is out there, it is out there, meaning that plagiarism, editing, free distribution, or a complete re-imagination is all possible. This means that people will do what they want; a creator should expect this reaction and I should say, “I am honored that you cared enough to spend time reimagining my work.” Yeah, no. I am firmly in the George Lucas camp. “Hey! I spent a huge part of my life creating my books. Leave them alone!”
You’re the best -Bill

Web Development: A Comprehensive Guide
Web development refers to the process of creating websites and web applications for the internet. It encompasses several aspects including web design, web content development, client-side/server-side scripting, and network security configuration. Here's a breakdown of the key components and stages involved in web development.
1. Front-End Development
Front-end development, also known as client-side development, involves creating the visual and interactive elements of a website. The primary technologies used are:
HTML (HyperText Markup Language): The standard markup language for creating web pages. It structures the content on the web.
CSS (Cascading Style Sheets): Used for describing the presentation of a document written in HTML. CSS handles the layout, colors, fonts, and overall visual appeal of the website.
JavaScript: A scripting language that enables interactive features on websites. It's used to create dynamic content, control multimedia, animate images, and much more.
Key Concepts in Front-End Development:
Responsive Design: Ensuring websites work well on a variety of devices and window or screen sizes.
Frameworks and Libraries: Tools like React, Angular, and Vue.js are popular for building robust front-end applications.
Accessibility: Designing websites that are accessible to people with disabilities.
2. Back-End Development
Back-end development, or server-side development, focuses on the server, databases, and application logic. The primary languages and technologies used are:
Server-Side Languages: Common languages include Python, Ruby, PHP, Java, and Node.js.
Databases: Tools like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and SQLite store and manage data.
Server Management: Involves configuring servers and ensuring they run smoothly, securely, and efficiently.
Key Concepts in Back-End Development:
APIs (Application Programming Interfaces): Allow different software systems to communicate. RESTful APIs and GraphQL are widely used.
Authentication and Authorization: Ensuring that users are who they say they are (authentication) and that they have permission to access certain resources (authorization).
Data Security: Protecting data from unauthorized access and breaches.
3. Full-Stack Development
Full-stack development involves both front-end and back-end development. Full-stack developers are proficient in multiple programming languages and frameworks and can build complete web applications from start to finish.
4. Web Development Process
The web development process typically includes the following stages:
Planning: Defining the goals, target audience, and scope of the project. Creating a project plan and timeline.
Design: Creating wireframes and mockups. Designing the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX).
Development: Writing the code for both the front-end and back-end. Integrating databases and APIs.
Testing: Checking for bugs and issues. Ensuring the website works across different browsers and devices.
Deployment: Launching the website on a web server. Configuring domains and hosting.
Maintenance: Regular updates and improvements. Monitoring performance and security.
5. Tools and Technologies
There are numerous tools and technologies available for web development, including:
Version Control: Git and platforms like GitHub and GitLab for managing and tracking code changes.
Text Editors and IDEs: Tools like Visual Studio Code, Sublime Text, and WebStorm for writing code.
Task Runners and Module Bundlers: Tools like Gulp, Webpack, and Parcel for automating tasks and bundling code.
Content Management Systems (CMS): Platforms like WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal for building and managing websites.
6. Trends in Web Development
The field of web development is constantly evolving. Some current trends include:
Progressive Web Apps (PWAs): Web apps that provide a native app-like experience.
Single Page Applications (SPAs): Applications that load a single HTML page and dynamically update as the user interacts with the app.
Serverless Architecture: Running applications without managing server infrastructure.
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: Enhancing user experience with personalized content and chatbots.
Conclusion
Web development is a dynamic and multifaceted field that plays a crucial role in the digital world. Whether you're a front-end enthusiast, a back-end expert, or a full-stack developer, understanding the various components and staying updated with the latest trends and technologies is essential for building successful web applications.

In 2018, as the corporate age began, an experienced director who asked that I not use his name — the doc world loves nondisclosure agreements — was hired to make an hour-long episode of a true-crime series for Netflix. It was his first commission for the streamer, and he hoped the project would shed light on a decades-old murder. But as the director began working, he found the production company making the series had expectations and a timeline that didn’t seem conducive to handling such a sensitive story. For starters, he was given just over two weeks to shoot and only ten weeks to edit. The Alliance of Documentary Editors recommends a month of editing for every ten minutes of run time; The Jinx and Making a Murderer, the true-crime series that helped kick off the documentary boom in 2015, had each taken years to make.
Before filming began, the production company also sent the director a six-page “Story Structure Template,” complete with breakdowns for what it wanted to happen at specific moments. “Ten percent of the way into your documentary, your hero must be presented with an opportunity,” the template read. Instead of citing other documentaries as reference points, it recommended mimicking Erin Brockovich and Gladiator. “For the next 15 percent of the story, your hero will react to the new situation,” it said, pointing to the moment when “Maximus is asked by the dying Emperor to take control of Rome and give it back to the people, in spite of the ambition of his son Commodus.”
Reality Check. The boom — or glut — in streaming documentaries has sparked a reckoning among filmmakers and their subjects.

The way Tolkien puts it in his famous letter to his editors is : "Elwing casting herself into the Sea to save the Jewel comes to Eärendil, and with the power of the great Gem they pass at last to Valinor, and accomplish their errand."
So it's not that the Valar are moved by the possession of the Silmaril, it's that it's the Silmaril that allows Eärendil to pass the enchantments that protect Valinor. Otherwise he wouldn't have managed. Gives an image of the Valar as completely unaware of what goes on, maybe isolated from what goes on in the Ocean in particular by their own enchantments ?
The previous sentence by the way goes "His wife Elwing descends from Lúthien and still possesses the Silmaril. But the curse still works, and Eärendil's home is destroyed by the sons of Fëanor. But this provides the solution." Talk about necessary evil...(also not that Sirion is Eärendil's home and not Elwing's..)
Now make of that what you wish, because it's not like Tolkien did not change his mind a hundred times about everything...
A thing that might or might not work in canon is that time might move, or rather feel, differently, in Valinor and in Middle Earth. Tolkien doesn't put it like that ever, of course, but the idea he develops in Nature of Middle Earth that the Noldor's language evolved very slowly, and only voluntarily, while in Valinor, while it became suddenly subject to quick changes when in Beleriand, because such is the nature of things in ME, where things change and evolve quickly, might explain the lack of haste of the Valar in reacting to what is going on in ME. It's also a thing that we see often in folklore, that idea that "fairyland's" timeline works differently : a day or a week there is centuries in the world of Men. So maybe the Valar are super slow to react because things just do not have the same urgency as they do in ME ?
Also there is that idea that they know about Eru's designs orverall but not every single beat - and Tolkien says in Nature of Middle Earth that Eru actually kept some things away from them intentionally because he did not want them to meddle in it (he says specifically there that Eru does not tell the Valar of when/where the Elves would awaken for that reason, because they are not supposed to rule them). That fits with your idea of them being focused on the outcome. They know enough to do nothing, not enough to actually help ?
About Valar and pettiness, that's a thing I have a problem with as well, in the sense that I have a problem putting them in category for sure. So they are gods like pagan gods, but also there is a "real" God that they know about and serve so they are more like angels but then they are taking on a bodily form and they do marry and also have some negative qualities sometimes, like pagan gods except that they are good and have good intentions...Argh.
Maybe the pettiness comes from taking bodily form ? Sure they can give up their bodies but as long as they have them they have to have some of the negatives associated with a bodily form (emotions, including negative ones ?)
Anyway, I tend to have a very Republican (as in, anti-monarchist) reaction to them. I'm like "oh, nice, good intentions, benevolent entities, good, nice", but the minute they mismanage something I'm like "nope ! bad leadership !! Off with their heads !!! What do you mean Miriel cannot come back and Manwë is the King of all of Arda !!!".
I refuse to believe the Valar wouldn't have fought Morgoth without the Silmaril.
(There's a TLDR at the end.)
.... Not really Valar friendly, but not anti Valar either. Valar critical, but still more on their side than not.
I have many, MANY issues with how the Valar handled a lot of things - Finwë's remarriage, stepping over Finwë's authority as king, basically letting Morgoth go after his false repentance was revealed, basically letting Morgoth go because he crossed the Helcaraxë, the Silmarils, refusing to go after Morgoth when Fëanáro made it clear he would never give them his Silmarils, etc. - but I don't think they're malicious enough to hold back their help by the time Eärendil arrived.
When the Darkening happened, the Valar were ... naive is probably the best word I can use to describe it. And petty - they are absolutely petty, especially Yavanna and Tulkas. "Oh, the Noldor don't want anything to do with us? Well, we WON'T help! How about that? And don't call back because we won't even answer the phone!" Then Manwë sat by the metaphorical phone wondering sadly why they wouldn't call. :(
.... I have honestly no idea why they didn't go fight Morgoth to begin with - they could've evacuated everyone out of the area like they did in the War of the Powers - but I digress. I still don't think it was malicious or because they wanted anyone to die. (Well, maybe Yavanna - I've never really gotten vibes from her that she likes ANY of Eru's children because they use her precious plants to survive, though maybe she'd like the Hobbits.) I think it was more of a childish thought on the Valar's part. "Fëanáro will see one day, and he'll be sorry!" That sort of thing.
And I think the Valar didn't really see anything wrong with what they did until the Dagor Bragollach. They made the Sun and Moon, and Men came to be, so clearly everything was going fine. See, Fëanáro, the Valar didn't need to do anything so drastic like return to Endórë.
Of course, then everything else happened......
.... I find it very difficult to believe that the Valar wouldn't know about this. Námo and Vairë would, 100%. Varda, too - she sees everything. And Manwë hears everything, and he's clearly been listening to the goings-on in Endórë before. Ulmo also actively participates in what goes on in Beleriand. These five at least would know how bad it's gotten in Middle Earth.
It was around this time Turgon sent sailors to beg help from the Valar, mind you. All drowned to Ossë, save Voronwë, and Ulmo did nothing. And it can easily be argued that the only reason Ulmo didn't let Voronwë die was so that someone could take his pet Man to his pet Elf's city. Which I guess is better than nothing, at least.
I justify this with the Valar being petty but not malicious. I genuinely think that Manwë thought the Noldor would pray if they needed help. (Yes, he said to never call him again, and the Noldor probably DID pray in the beginning - especially Turgon's people - but Manwë ... doesn't exactly logic very well.)
Anyway, Eärendil would eventually show up, and let's say he didn't have the Silmaril?
At this point in time, the Valar would have no excuse. They would know exactly how bad it is in Middle Earth. And the fact that Eärendil is pleading for mercy for everyone - including the SoF - should have an impact. If they still refused to go against Morgoth because he didn't have a Silmaril, the Valar would not be good and moral. Maybe not quite as bad as Morgoth, but they wouldn't be far off.
.....
I wonder if Eärendil is one of those scenarios where you are so focused on an outcome - either to make it happen or to avoid it entirely - that it comes to pass through your own actions.
The Valar - or at least Námo, because we know at least he can see the future - saw Eärendil as the only way to save everything from Morgoth, and became so fixated on him that they inevitably created that future. "We have to bend the rules Ilúvatar made about marriage, or Eärendil won't come." "We can't get involved, or Eärendil won't come." "We need the Sons of Fëanáro to do these horrible things, or Eärendil won't come."
(I absolutely DESPISE this logic, but it's better than the "all is well in Valinórë; yea, Valinórë prospereth - all is well" logic the Valar show. At least it would mean one of the Valar was taking steps to fix things rather than ignore the problem in the hope of it going away.)
-----
There's also the fact that Melian herself told Thingollo to give up the Silmaril. She can see the future, and she'd know the hearts of the Valar. If she had even an inkling that they would reject Eärendil without the Silmaril, I don't think she'd suggest returning it to the SoF.
-----
I guess you can say "the Valar needed to see the Noldor had gotten over their prideful ways", but I still don't see how EÄRENDIL giving them a SILMARIL would do that. It wasn't his to give. It wasn't ELWING'S to give. Or Dior's. Or Thingollo's. Or Lúthien's. Or Beren's.
-----
TLDR
I think the argument that Beren, Lúthien, Thingollo, Dior, and Elwing needed to keep the Silmaril away from the SoF to save the world is complete and utter bs, and I'm not afraid to say it. There's no way the Valar are so cruel and heartless as to let all of Endórë die to Morgoth because they didn't get a Silmaril - that goes against everything that Tolkien believed of them. They're flawed, but they aren't (supposed to be) selfish enough to watch the world burn to prove their point.
I think the compassion Eärendil showed had more of an effect in changing the hearts of the Valar than the Silmaril.

JM JK timeline.- my observations how they grew over the years
Disclaimer: these are my own opinions and conclusions. Feel free to disagree, but hate or aggression will be unacceptable.
2017 - Part 3
Ooh, we have reached a major event here. Serendipity. 4 September 2017, or is it 1 September 2017 (??), as I will explain bellow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEMaH9Sm3lQ&t=16s .
Or what I like to call: JM’s love ode to JK.
Now tell me this: If Jimin’s song Serendipity was released 4th September 2017, and uploaded to BangtanTv on 5th September 2017, why is the date stamped on the MV 1 Sep 2017?
Does that date mean something? Let me think for a second….oh, it does, doesn’t it? It’s someone’s birthday !!!
JM tells us himself: “All of this isn’t just a coincidence”.
Serendipity is a beautiful love song, and I honestly believe it is JM’s love ode to JK, a birthday present to his love.
I am aware that Jimin is not the one who wrote the lyrics for the song. RM did though. RM, that at this point was very much aware of the relationship and JM’s great love for JK. RM that had written JK’s Begin, a song that everyone agrees is a very personal song of JK’s.
The “I am you, you are me” line actually originated from a song released by Zico in early 2016. There are theories that Jikook used a reference from that songs MV (the band aids on their fingers) during a Puma fan sign on April 2nd 2016. So, if this is true and the line had special meaning for them to start with, and it found it’s way into the song lyrics... feel free to make your conclusions...
And although we have no way of knowing just how involved JM was in the process of writing this song (did he ask for a love song? Did he give ideas to insert into the song, like destiny, not being a coincidence, the cat?), but at the end of the day, JM ‘owns’ the song, believes in what he is singing. When he talks about the song you can feel the emotional personal connection he has with the song. This is his song, and he sings it for JK. And JK knows this is Jimin’s gift to him.
Serendipity related, check out the 18th September Dance with DNA Vlive - https://www.vlive.tv/video/42069 .
JK’s reaction when JM says Serendipity is his favourite song. So cute. The thing with this one is that you could easily overlook it or not read too much into it. Only Suga’s reaction here is the tell all.
At the point that JK is acting all shy and smiley to himself, Suga moves closer to him, whispering “Jungkookah”, something that brings on a change to JK’s entire facial expression. There’s even a slight head nod from Suga when JK wipes the smile off his face.
Suga hinting to JK not to be so obvious, only made it more obvious. I also noticed that just before JM starts singing Serendipity, just after he was asked what his favourite song from the album is, JK looks sideways to Suga, as if he knows he isn’t supposed to react too obviously – looks a bit like little JK might have been scolded or reigned in prior to the live broadcast. Remember that this is really quite a short time after the song’s release, so JK’s excitement, happiness, is still really fresh. The song is for him, and it’s JM’s favourite...
I am not going to analyse the MV, but there are many who have done so before me. Was JM involved in the planning and did he have any input to the choices made? Idk. There is a similarity to the motif of the DNA MV. Is it a coincidence that the dominant colour used is JK’s favourite colour? Who knows. But doesn’t the song say “all of this is not a coincidence”?
Add to that JM starting to use the paw print emoji by JK’s name on Twitter? A coincidence? Mmm… interesting.
From this point on it is clear that “you are me, I am you” is a JM and JK thing.
21 September 2017 BTS comeback show. JK was in charge of putting together each of the members DNA. Very enjoyable. But why did JM have to mention again that JK comes to their room to sleep? Also, how does JK know that JM doesn’t wake up Hobi when he is playing games late at night? JM telling us how he now learnt how to play games – then what games was JM good last year (re: Vlive 22 April 2017)?
22 September 2017 Love Yourself fan sign– JM singing Serendipity, JK joining in. How happy JM looks when JK sings “just let me love you” with him all while making eye contact with each other at that point. The way JM looks at JK while singing the song. Singing to him.
Still think Serendipity is not JK and JM’s song?
They have a way of looking at one another that sometimes make me feel like I’m intruding on a very intimate moment.
24 September 2017 SBS Inkigayo Super concert – found it!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fb-_jkdxgh4 start watching at 3.36min.
This is the one I remembered, where JM, saw the need to grab JK’s butt, run his hand up and down his back side, right through the crack, repeatedly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7fv0CaQT9M start watching 11:30min , JM walks to his place past JK, lightly brushing his hand against JK.
When I mention the brushes or light touches – this is what I mean (see attached photos). Obviously, there will be those who say it wasn’t intentional, that he was walking by him and didn’t mean to touch him. I say bollox to that (excuse the language).
First, there was plenty of room not to walk so close to JK. Second, if you notice, he circles JK only to make it back to the same actual side he was on to begin with. All he had to do was back up, just like JK did, and not circle JK to make it to his place on stage. Third, to me it looks as if he was aiming to touch JK’s hand, only it was too high up.
26 September SBS MTV The Show. Happy happy boys.
30 September 2017 Love Yourself fan sign Sinchon – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMIdoK9rfAI .
Another one I was looking for. I have seen this moment and wasn’t sure where or when it was from. This is one of those clips Jikook’s use to show Jimin being jealous, and to be honest, first time I saw it it made me wonder too. But watching it again and again, I have come to the conclusion that that wasn’t the issue.
To me this is more JM being protective than JM being Jealous. Setting the boundaries for V when it comes to JK, and it is something we see with JM more than once.
JM wasn’t happy. V wasn’t happy. Boundaries were set.
I actually wrote a separate post about this moment.
1 October 2017 BTS live – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwU-NOMLvqQ
Tipsy JK must be a Jikooker. His guard is down, inhibitions are gone and he becomes really chatty and tends to say and do things that he most likely regrets later on. We didn’t see the members drink what seemed to be alcohol, but the vibe I got from JK’s talkativeness and behaviour during the live was that he was tipsy. Not outright drunk, but tipsy.
To the fan’s request to show his abs, JK starts checking himself out, looking under his T-shirt, only to be scolded by JM to keep it to himself. This is also the first time we hear him Jikooking, talking about eating with Jin and JM, referring to them as Jin-jikook, and then turning to JM, while the others try to call them by another name (I wonder why…). Did I not say tipsy JK is a Jikooker???
3 October 2017 Run BTS episode 22. https://www.vlive.tv/video/43438 start 7.00min.
JM turns to JK asking him to vote for him. The softness in JM’s voice when he asks him acting all coquettish. The way JM approached JK and the way he spoke to him, that’s not the way someone talks to his mate, or to his ‘brother’.
There was a softness in the approach to JK. coquettish is the only way I can describe it.
Love hearts were added by the show’s editors, not me !!!!
12 October 2017 BTS countdown. Can be found on Dailymotion.
All JM had to say was one word – Jungkookah and JK, surprisingly (not) chose him. The look of joy on their faces at that point. And again the editors with the heart emoji effects. Uhm…
JM and JK’s team was the team chosen by the fans, and guess what song they both choose to sing, as JM piggy backed JK? Their song obviously… Serendipity.
And yet again, JM gets to tell us JK comes to his room to sleep. We hear you JM. We hear you.
Jimin birthday surprise (BangtanTV 1 November 2017) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aAhNAl53ZY.
JM gets flowers sent from his father. J-Hope and Suga pretend JM’s dad has arrived to surprise JM, Suga pointing and saying he saw him. JK slowly backs up, shocked and alarmed smile on his face, trying to move behind RM. Then the boys start laughing.
Now, why do I think this is a moment worthy of my timeline? Well, when the boys start laughing, revealing it was a joke, the one Suga points at, laughingly, is JK.
The whole thing feels like a joke on JK, not JM. JK is the one being teased. Why would JK be so stressed out from JM’s dad being there? And why would the boys be teasing him like that? Hm…
The funny thing is that the camera is on JK and Suga, not on JM, who was supposedly just told his father was there. That feels slightly strange to me. Wouldn’t they want to catch JM’s reaction? Not JK’s?
28-30 October 2017 JK and JM Tokyo trip together. This trip was long anticipated by JM. He had been looking forward for his trip with JK for a long time. It was a private trip planned and paid for by JK as a gift for JM. What we know about the trip is mostly what they tell us in retrospect.
Saying that, this was truly a memorable trip for them both, and they both can’t seem to shut up about it, talking about it at any possible moment. JK telling us how JM stayed up (only JM?) until 5 am, so they both woke up at 12pm and missed out on plans they had for the morning, JM tells how they went shopping in Harajuku, how during their trip was the longest walk they took, referring to their trip during interviews. As I mentioned – a memorable trip.
31 October 2017 - When returning from the trip JM posts a selca/selfie. I know I said I won’t be doing this, but rules are sometimes meant to be broken, and this specific selca is gorgeous, so…
BTS Wings tour Japan documentary - filmed October 2017, published 12 November 2017 - https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7sz5rq .
Both acting cute together. For some reason, they are the only ones that are paired for the one on one interviews, when Suga, Jin and Hobi were all interviewed by themselves.
Felt like JM and inhibitions were strangers during the group interview.
Not really sure what JM was searching for in JK’s thigh during the group interview (when V was talking) – tupping, fingering and squeezing JK’s thigh. And yet again RM and J-Hope’s reactions to die for. Hobi eyes on the action throughout the whole episode, and RM when he notices, I would pay a lot of money to know what was going through his head at that point. My educated guess is: “God, please get me out of here, why did I agree to be the leader????” LOL.
Then when asked what their impressions were when coming to the dome, JM tells how JK was crying, all while caressing JK’s ear. JK tells how he was emotional, and they look at each other. All the while, RM’s face when JM touches JK’s ear, only to continue to place his hands on their shoulders respectively.
JM continues to surprise, telling viewers to anticipate for JK’s sweat. The minute he says that, RM turns to look towards Suga, the vibe I get is: “god, please help me here…”.
Then JM goes on to tell us how in his opinion JK’s sweat is beautiful, Holy water. What???? J-hope repeats JM’s Holy water, then glances for just a second towards RM and looks down nervously – great save Hobi.
The group interview was shot on JM’s birthday. Maybe that had something to do with his good un-inhibited mood.
8 November 2017 – GCF in Tokyo - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrTNLkqGrlc .
While the Tokyo trip was JK’s birthday gift or JM. GCF Tokyo is JK’s love ode to JM.
One of JK’s grand gestures. Up there with RB, as far as I am concerned.
This is not an analysis of GCFT, but I do have a few words to say on the matter. Explain why in my eyes this is a JK’s love ode to JM.
This video was filmed and edited by JK, and JK alone. It supposedly documents their trip together. It was his choice and his alone to edit and publish this video and did so to JM’s surprise.
In the video to start with, he lets us know that it’s the two of them, but from there on, other than seeing JK through the mirrors in the elevator while he is filming JM, the one we mostly see is JM. JM smiling, JM goofing around, JM eating, JM enjoying himself on the Tea Cup ride at Disneyland, JM walking, JM dancing, and as a whole just JM having the time of his life. For a video that is documenting a trip to Tokyo, there is not too much of Tokyo we get to see.
The end credits name JK as the photographer, director and editor, while naming JM as the actor.
There is a strong romantic vibe to the video.
JK’s editing choices, including his music choice for the video are well thought out. His choice to edit to the beat of the song. All cleverly thought out to accentuate both the footage and the lyrics of the song he chose: ‘There for you’ by Troye Sivan and Martin Garrix.
JM told us already: “this is not a coincidence”.
The level of preparation from JK, acquiring the rights to use the song, the amount of time it took to go over the footage and edit the video, all while managing to do that will a full working schedule (working throughout the night). This was clearly something big for him. His joy and pride when it was uploaded to Youtube, clearly showed, him smiley and dancing.
2 days prior to GCFT, on 6 November 2017, JM published his short clip of the trip. JM too took the time to edit a cute footage of the trip, documenting both of them having fun. Putting them both side by side only emphasizes the difference and showcases just how much GCFT was all about JM, being JK’s love ode to JM.
To be continued...

If even one person comes to the Lord as a result of what you do here, isn’t it worth it? https://www.billkochman.com/Blog/index.php/are-you-in-the-facebook-desert/?feed_id=145513&Are%20You%20in%20the%20Facebook%20Desert%3F

I’m so sorry i know everyone is asking this but I’m so confused is the justice league dying supposed to be canon in everything or is it just to end this jl run? Like do they “die” in the issue and just.. keep popping up in their respective comics and whatnot?
So like, exact details about that aren't 100% clear at this time, and I believe things will become clearer as we get closer (because this isn't happening until April, we're still several months out)
But while this is the end to the current Justice League book, it is also like, part of current main canon as far as everything has been presented. In the interview Williamson gave about this today, we got some quotes like:
"We want people to understand, this is serious and this is gonna have a major impact in the DCU moving forward." "I remember the experience of reading the build-up to 'The Death of Superman' and then waiting in the rain for my copy of issue #75. I think one reason that story was so powerful was that after the 'Funeral for a Friend' story, there were no Superman comics for three months. That's part of what led us to make the decision that this is the last issue of Justice League. But then three months later, there's still not gonna be a Justice League comic. It's gonna be a while, and that's gonna be a major part of what the DCU looks like after this story: There is no Justice League." "We'll get to see what the ramifications are of losing the Justice League," Williamson says. "You'll get to see how the new heroes react, how some of the heroes that have been around for a while react, you'll see how people on the ground react to this idea of the Justice League dying, and then you'll get to see how all the villains react. What happens when they know the Justice League is gone?" (source)
So... yes, this will be effecting other books. These deaths are, theoretically, going to be somewhat longterm.
However, I do anticipate the rollout of this being a bit awkward, like. I would not be surprised if we still get some issues that come out afterwards that include members of this roster who will be dying, probably just with editors notes indicating they took place earlier in the timeline or something... like a (*This story takes place before Justice League #75! -Editor) sort of thing.

PINNED POST: Rough CHANLIX Timeline Theory
Hello! This is for an Anon Asks and someone who DM'ed asking my thoughts on when CHANLIX started. Mine is a theory and not fact and it's very rough. It's better to just show you through the videos I've been posting, but that's going to take me maybe MONTHS to wrap up chronologically if I don't get carpal tunnel syndrome first lol. So here goes:
(rough) CHANLIX TIMELINE THEORY
Before Q4 2019: My gay eyes spied and said that Felix always had an unrequited crush on Chan; I honestly thought Chan was straight at one point because of all the "bros" he kept throwing and that he was always around Felix's side because he could explain variety show stuff to him and other Korean culture and language stuff; I soon realized that they have such close proximity a lot of times on-camera compared to the other members and had the odd hand touching now-and-then that I stuck around because once I observed more straight K-Pop boy group behaviors, once I went back to Chanlix, I saw that this unrequited crush might not be so unrequited and this instance of Korean brotherhood skinship blurred the lines of same-sex romantic intentions.
Q4 2019 - Q2 2020: Romantic feelings and intentions emerge in full force especially from Chan; huge increase in physical affection and proximity; possibly waiting out for dating ban to end?; hard to say what type of relationship they have at this point; they have a of screen time together on SKZ Talker; members grow increasingly suspicious.
Q3 2020 - Q4 2020: All members know of Chanlix's intentions; relationship evolved before "All In" era; still have plenty of moments on-camera including on SKZ Talker; Chan reacts and says a lot of things that raised my gay alarm bells; I think they bit the bullet and quietly dated?
Q1 2021: Dating ban ends; they hold hands during K-Contact 4U that was meant to acknowledge Hyunjin's part during his hiatus, but they might have done it for themselves too; huge drop as an on-camera pairing; physically separate on-camera; they try so hard to put up a facade that they aren't dating that they come off looking like they don't even acknowledge or even know each other anymore on-camera; they were definitely an item during Kingdom filming.
Q2 2021: 100% confidence of their relationship status reached; huge drop of SKZ Talker screen time together; Felix doesn't realize he's so nervous now in regards to Chan; they stop doing the official group formation unless it's a red carpet or concert stage where Chan and Felix are no longer side-by-side (official group formation from Left to Right is: Lee Know, Han, I.N., Felix, Bang Chan, Hyunjin, Seungmin, Changbin).
Q3 2021: Orange-haired Chan era had the most obvious signs of body language love; K-Contact Hi5 had damning evidence where for a few seconds, Felix signaled Chan to stop embracing him before they played the next song not realizing they were briefly caught by a fancam angle; another Hi5 moment was released months later where the editor effed up the audio track on purpose but if you alter it again, Chan says "Baby, look--" or "Baby, look look" or "Baby, look at me" which they didn't think the cameras would be rolling and would make it part of the behind-the-scenes; huge drop again in SKZ Talker screen time together; during the time where Felix's famous TikTok exploded, they were promoting "The View" where Felix looked effing terrified to give Chan any eye contact in ANY of the performances; this is also the time where management got really scared that they were trending.
Q4 2021: Even though they're no longer living in the same complex, it stands to reason that they visit each other's bedrooms a lot; Chan and Felix weren't really allowed to be side-by-side anymore on-camera unless Chan interferes; I have enough footage though that shows that they're constantly side-by-side backstage in portions where they don't think they're being filmed; another huge drop of SKZ Talker screen time together; Chan literally makes his New Year's Eve post about Chanlix.
2022 and the future: they weren't roommates, but there's fan videos of Chanlix in the wild sitting or standing before performances or just by themselves during their Middle East stop; Chan showed his bedroom and it's literally empty besides the photo of Chanlix he posted on New Year's Eve even though he's lived there for months now; Chan seems ready to burst and declare his love for Felix, and I'm optimistic that Felix will come to an understanding that love is the core value you should hold onto besides thinking what their love can do to hurt maximizing earnings potential worldwide and Stray Kids' image. The people who scandalize same-sex relationships are not STAYs. I just hope one day they stop fearing something so many couples take for granted like holding hands in public.
Again, it's just my own timeline theory from observations. The one thing I will bet my life on is that they're 100% a real couple. No margins of error there. Thanks for stopping by!

How about 999 yjh and uriel?
This went a bit past just 999, but I had fun with this prompt! Here's some cannon based Jonghyuk angst with happy ending lol.
The nine hundred ninety ninth regression was one that Yoo Jonghyuk planned based on his previous regressions, as he always did.
Although, it wasn't as if the previous two regressions, the nine hundred ninety seventh and eighth, were really the worst the starstream had seen of Yoo Jonghyuk. That title would probably be saved for the forty-first from which Yoo Jonghyuk was conscious of the fact he had to deliberately block memories from to stay sane.
No, the problem with the last two regressions wasn't the presence of any memories that were wretched to the point of novelty. The problem was the fact that Yoo Jonghyuk barely retained any memories of them at all.
It was all a haze… it was honestly hard to tell if those regressions had been even markedly different from the ones previous to them, as all of the repeated events seemed to mush together and meld with the centuries of anguish he had already endured.
He hadn't felt anything new. Done anything new. So much so that he would forget his place in the new regression and wander aimlessly thinking of the old until some high level constellation punk got a lucky shot at him.
And then all of a sudden, Yoo Jonghyuk woke up in that familiar train car. The one that no matter what would only last for the first thirty minutes of the scenario.
Almost out of habit, he looked for that boy he had been keeping an eye on. The one who always died.
He stopped when he realized.
999.
That boy had died one thousand times.
Yoo Jonghyuk had lived one thousand times. Been in this train car one thousand times. Failed to save anyone one thousand times. Died one thousand times.
Was he really that useless? Yoo Jonghyuk thought to himself, as he went through the motions of beating Choi Han-gyu to death before he could blow up the car.
Honestly, at this point maybe he should accept that he was just like the boy in this car.
No matter what he did, he was going to die anyway.
If he thought about it like that, then…
Well, what was the best thing that he could accomplish with his own death, knowing that it would come to him no matter what he did?
So in the nine hundred ninety ninth turn, Yoo Jonghyuk took more risks than ever before. He made choices and plans that he never would have before because experience had shown they were the antithesis to his former dogma. That which put his own means of survival above all else.
And little by little, Yoo Jonghyuk began to notice that things could be new again.
In this regression, his companions cared more about him. They respected him more, and opened up about things they never had. As if something in his actions connected to them. Made them think he acted out of love for them since his actions clearly showed no care for himself.
And maybe Yoo Jonghyuk wanted to believe them, too. That he was still capable of that sort of love. That desire for connection.
So he let himself fall into it. He made his decisions based on everyone's survival except for his own.
And his comrades continued to show new sides of themselves. The way Lee Jihye tried not to weep aver the bloody remains of his leg, even though no one had died that regression. How Lee Hyunsung's lips trembled while trying to stop the blessing where Yoo Jonghyuk's arm used to be. Shin Yoosung's open bawling, as it began to set in on Yoo Jonghyuk that he would never see this version of her's face ever again.
But Yoo Jonghyuk knew whose response to his actions had surprised him the most this regression.
"Jonghyuk. Are you ready?" The voice of a certain archangel was heard near his somehow still intact ears.
Uriel's face was close to his, a tight grip on his arm and waist along with the angelic wing steadied on his back the only support keeping him held upright as the others had followed his instructions in forging through the final battle ahead of them.
"There's no need to watch over me so closely, Uriel." He told her. It was, in fact, something he had been telling this strange angel recurrently ever since she had stepped down from Eden to join their group.
That was one thing he had never expected of the entity he had once known as the Demon-like Judge of Fire. In all the timelines he had been through Uriel had been just that, a silent judge. Reacting positively to his lawful actions in the early scenarios with coins, and expressing disappointment over his more morally dubious actions. Only descending after the destruction of Eden occasionally to cast judgement in person.
But something about this round had moved the archangel to act differently after the destruction of Eden this round.
"No offense, but there's obviously a d**n need for it, Jonghyuk." Uriel casually censored herself, as though the restrictions of Eden were still in place. "You can't see how the others are looking back towards you right now, but they know it too. That it's always times like this that you feel the need to go and take unnecessary risks."
Yoo Jonghyuk thought that he heard it in her voice, then.
That lilt in Uriel's voice that suggested she was talking to an old friend, even though the span of time in which he had met this version of her was infinitesimal in comparison to the life he had already lived before her, and perhaps compared to the life of a constellation as well.
Maybe Uriel, too, had lived through this all before. A war where she was called upon to support a comrade close to death.
Perhaps she also knew what it was like to be too helpless to save someone important.
Yoo Jonghyuk should be sorry that she would have to go through it again.
He could already feel it. No matter how close Uriel and her sword stayed by his side, Yoo Jonghyuk could feel his death coming to him.
It was because the outer world covenant wasn't an outside threat. It was something that was inside of him. A hole that came from the very center of him. Almost as if there were no outer world god involved, and Yoo Jonghyuk had really only done this to himself.
When everything was fading, and he could recognize her voice as one of the ones desperately calling out to him, Yoo Jonghyuk thought that he should apologize to her.
Instead, he died with a smile on his face.
.
.
.
The one thousandth regression was one that Yoo Jonghyuk planned based on his previous regressions, as he always did.
When he woke up on the train car again, he wasn't smiling as he had been when he died.
It was because he knew that he wouldn't let the events that let him get so far in the last regression repeat.
He couldn't live like that.
Suicidal idiot that he still was, he couldn't let the same thing happen to his precious memories of those friends in the nine hundred ninety ninth that had happened to every other memory he had of them from all those other regressions. Let them repeat until the point of oblivion. He couldn't do it. He just couldn't, even if it would be the right thing to do, even though it could save their lives, Yoo Jonghyuk just wasn't strong enough.
And he hated himself, for that weakness.
That was when Yoo Jonghyuk decided that he had to die, sitting there in that subway car before the scenarios started.
No matter what it took, killing every constellation in the starstream, losing distorted versions of old comrades, finding and wringing out his sponsor's neck…
Yoo Jonghyuk had to survive long enough to stand in front of that wall once more.
And join all of his once treasured memories in the deepest oblivion of death.
From then on, the only times he saw that Demon-like Judge of Fire descended from Eden was when she was sent with the express purpose to kill him in a way that didn't matter.
The only thing new he learned about her thereafter was how her corpse looked with a sword through the middle.
That was, until he met her as an outer god.
Secretive Plotter had wondered if it would please an angel like Uriel to know that he had prayed for the first time in that moment.
Prayed against all odds that her firey sword really could pierce through his curse of life and see him to his end.
But some dumb guy saved him that day.
And now, in the present, Yoo Jonghyuk was watching the kid version of that guy pick the green bits out of the omelette he had made him.
He had been trying to remember from the timelines where he had kids how he had tricked them into eating their vegetables, but like most of the times he tried to recall those deep memories of his, something in his brain had gotten caught up in that pesky number 999's time.
It was probably because his current company made those times hard to forget.
"Aaaaah I'm going to be late!" Uriel ran into the kitchen in a flash of blonde curls, going for the bread in the fridge as if she was going to run out of the house with toast in her mouth like a schoolgirl from one of her animes. "Jonghyuk do you know where Jihye is?"
"She already left." Yoo Jonghyuk reported, as he batted her hands off the bread and gave her a fork for the small omelette he had already put on the table for her. "Her first class this semester is in an early slot."
Even though he had told that girl to schedule her classes with the university early if she wanted good times…
"Shi-" Uriel seemed to remember there was no system to filter out her swears as she spared a glance toward Dokja before correcting herself. "Shoot. I mean shoot." She started speaking between bites as she scarfed down the omelette "I think that [munch] girl borrowed the shoes I was [chew] going to wear to my interview [gulp] without asking…"
"Does it really matter what shoes you wear?" Yoo Jonghyuk commented as he used his chopsticks to start placing Dokja's vegetables back into his omelette. "A former constellation is going to look strange submitting her manhwa manuscript to an editor for review no matter what."
"Give me a break." Uriel frowned. "It's not my fault that your world somehow made the mistake of making creative skills look more appealing on a resume than demon slaying skills."
Yoo Jonghyuk thought that there was truth to her observation, as he watched Uriel ruffle the hair of the pouting Dokja, before putting her clean plate in the sink for him to deal with later.
Everything about this world was new to Uriel. One could see it plainly in the very way she moved, unused to not carrying wings everywhere she went and walking ever so lightly on the earth wherever she went. Whether it was because she knew what it was to fly or because her shoulders had never felt so light before, Yoo Jonghyuk couldn't be sure.
"Good luck." He called, as Uriel walked out into the fray ahead of him, donning combat boots instead of the professional heel she seemed to have misplaced.
"Thanks Jonghyuk!" She replied, seemingly not compelled to look back to check on him as she walked out the door.
Yoo Jonghyuk had this certain feeling, then. A feeling that he often saw himself having in this new life of his, with these old friends of his.
Even though he thoroughly knew these people already, that fact made it all the more exciting to watch them grow into their roles in this world. Become the people that he never got to see them be.
"It's that look in your eye."
Yoo Jonghyuk almost startled, as he remembered he was being watched.
He turned to find young Dokja looking him with a gaze that seemed to see beyond his stoic expression.
"My father never looked at anyone like the way you looked at her just now, Hyung." He said, in that small, knowing voice of his, before a shyness seemed to come over him, and he looked down at his plate.
"That's why nine hundred ninety nine was always my favorite." He admitted, in a little voice
The emotion that Yoo Jonghyuk felt then was a rare one, but not entirely new.
A mixture of pride and bashfulness that only his own children had ever raised out of him, a glow that seemed to start from his chest and go on to cover his cheeks.
Perhaps an erstwhile familiarity with that feeling was the only thing that allowed him to save himself from smiling, as he tried very hard to tell Dokja sternly to eat his vegetables.
And when Uriel came home that evening to announce that her manuscript had gotten picked up… well, it wasn't hard to admit that Yoo Jonghyuk too was now living through a life that he never had before.
#tw suicide#not beta read btw dont beat me up if theres typos#orv#yoo junghyuk#yoo joonghyuk#yu junghyeok#uriel#orv uriel#demon like judge of fire#orv spoilers#ficlet#writing#kid dokja at the end a little bit haha i like 999th regression found family lol
