1. if you could save one character from their demise (consequences to the plot be damned) who would it be? 

lmao this is cheating you know the answer :'D everyone who's followed me for more than two minutes knows the answer. there's no other option! this is just. obviously it's Piers. he deserved so much better. I'd save him in a heartbeat, everyone else be damned.

3. any characters you feel were done absolutely DIRTY by capcom? are they victims of wasted potential or character assassination or what?

Piers. first and foremost. there was no fucking reason to kill him. assholes. urghhhh. wasted everything. i will go to my grave bitter about this. i can't even elaborate any more because I'm already upset thinking about it. they friggin' had alternate endings in the first damn game, they could've at least given us the option to save him. even if it would've been the "non-canonical" ending. pffth.

Jake. he is such a good character. he's fun and witty, and although he's also a bit of a dick he has a giant heart. not to mention how he's already tied to the franchise like... there would be so much to explore with how he's Wesker's son and how he struggles with that, how he doesn't want to be defined by his father but how it also obviously affects him, and how he has such conflicting feelings about it. it would've been so interesting. they could've made him work with Chris (and Jill, tbh), which would've been even more interesting considering what happened with Wesker in the past. and they wasted all of that. for what??? i'm so mad :'D

also Sherry, tbh, to a degree. I would've loved to see more of her, after we got her back in re6. she's a compelling, interesting character, also with ties to the original early games.

also Sheva and Jill. Sheva was only an one-off character but there's no reason they couldn't have brought her back. and what's up with Jill just disappearing off the face of the earth after re5???

ALSO Krauser. the dynamic between him and Leon, the way he was cast aside and struggled and went from a good guy to a villain? I would've loved to get more of that. i keep saying this but why can't they make more Revelations-games, to give us all those good stories from between the main games??? PLEASE CAPCOMMMM.

oh my gosh we're gonna be here all day... there are so many. I could list like, every single thing Leon says in RE4 :'D and in RE6... and a lot of what he says in Damnation or Vendetta lmao. but I'm gonna try to limit myself.

(this is more a translation thing but I love how when he says in Vendetta that "Careful you don't scare the locals. Your stealth's for shit." it's translated into finnish basically as "Careful you don't scare the locals. You sneak like hippos." :'D aside from that, almost everything Leon says at the bar in Vendetta makes me want to cry)

and from OTHERS, I love when Piers goes "Nobody's expendable." he is so good. also it always makes me laugh when he says "I'm the best driver the BSAA got!" because I certainly am not and I keep driving him into the walls. "I'M THE BEST DRIVER //crashes into a wall" :'D

oh oh oh and Piers and Jake in the elevator things??? "Jesus Christ, do you ever shut up? What, are you trying to piss me off?" "I don't trust you, and I don't like you." like. babies :'D

i also love when Jake goes "You better put a leash on that puppy." but I love even more when he speaks of his father and how it now makes sense how messed up he is, and Sherry goes "You can blame your father all you want, but at some point, you need to take responsibility for your own actions." like tell him girl!

been struggling to draw lately so i went through some older stuff of mine and found this, only to realize i never posted it. i don't imagine anybody's still doing stuff for this weird social media-clan au thingy anymore, now that the meme of it has died down, but anybody's free to these names for whatever uses they want, if they want them :)

Yarrow-whisker was the previous medic before Quarrypaw, who has yet to gain their full status as a medicine cat in their absence

Geckopaw and Prairiepaw are siblings. Yewtail is only a so-so mentor at the best of times, so Foxfire effectively mentors them both. However, Prairiepaw has swooped in to support Yewtail when they decide to do something stupid and unsustainable on multiple occasions. they really shouldn't have been granted an apprentice tbh. i recently re-read Fire and Ice in the original warriors series so the parallels to Graystripe being a poor mentor to Brackenpaw are intentional

Skypelt came out of retirement to mentor Duskpaw, since they serve such similar real-life purposes. Skypelt doesn't understand everything their apprentice says or does but is generally supportive of such a similar application

Marsh-singer, Whitestep, and Thymeface are all siblings, and are collectively the youngest of the warriors (not accurate to the actual ages of the applications, but eh). to say they are all total gossips would be an understatement. they're also really interchangeable and forgettable. like the Runningwinds of apps.

depending on how positively you want to view the whole "reincarnation" trope some of the canon warriors books have, you could say that Tickpaw is a reincarnation of Musiclight. Otherwise, they just look really similar.

all of the "Cats Outside of Clans" cats are kittypets, with the notable exception of Furzebark, who is a banished rogue with a concerning amount of influence on the Clan(s?). maybe there's a whole band of rogues who are based on insidiously/surprisingly influential applications or online entities! various appstore/playsotre applications could fall under this category, as well as like. roblox, apparently. which is beyond weird to me since that's a game and not a wider application, but it got scarily profitable during lockdown, so...

Redpaw was Yewtail's sibling, but died during their apprenticeship. Probably to the same thing that killed Gravelpounce, but i have no idea what that would be

Flaxflower is generally considered WAY too old to still be alive (since the real internet explorer died a bit ago by now), but since he'd "find a way to be late to his own funeral", he has yet to kick the bucket.

the whole twittypet drama is EASILY the juiciest gossip the clan has had in ages, ESPECIALLY the half-clan checkmark-kits. in-universe, im interpreting the poor management of twitter that's been driving it into the ground irl as a negligent cat owner unintentionally driving their pet to spend more time outdoors with other cats (namely, dashclaw) to get away from them, which resulted in kittens. drummed-up anti-kittypet sentiment aside, many clan cats looking in on the situation just feel bad for her.

Vinewatcher is the most consistently "present" of the StarClan spirits, but is also the most consistently unhelpful. numerous potential prophecies later turned out to just be inside jokes of theirs they decided to continue rehashing into the afterlife. Quarrypaw, having not gotten much experience identifying what makes a legitimate prophecy yet, finds this exceptionally annoying behavior, and would like them to stop. They do not.

The sobs wracking through your body only made it hurt worse, but what else could you do? Halsin and Shadowheart had provided balms and pain relievers, to little effect. Astarion had set up his pile of pillows as best he could to ease the stress on your body, sitting dutifully nearby, doing his best to help.

“Shall I see if the wizard knows any remedies?” he offered gently. To willingly suggest talking to Gale of all people, let alone to ask for help, was a line only ever crossed for your sake. He hated sitting here, watching you suffer when he could do so little to help. If it was a creature or curse causing your issues, he’d happily charge out and slay it for you in a heartbeat, but it was much more than that.

You choked on your tears as you tried to shake your head. He hushed you gently when you winced, reaching out to brush back your hair, before he thought better of it and returned his hand to his lap. “Easy, love. You’ve got this.”

Struck with an idea, he bolted up from his spot on the floor of the tent and bustled about. You tried to see what he was doing, but he was out in a flash. He came back a little later with a large, thick quilt. As delicately as he could, he laid it over your body. It was pleasantly warm, as though it’d been hung by the fire for a while. It drew out some of the aching. You sighed with relief.

“There we are. Better?”

You croaked out, “Yes,” with an accompanying little sniffle. He smiled, but his brows were knit together. His cold body wouldn’t help now, nor could he even cuddle with you when the slightest jostle had you crying out in agony, but hand Karlach a blanket for a minute and you’d have a heated one in no time. It was the best he could provide for the pain.

“Do you think you can try sleeping it off for just a bit?”

“With this,” you don’t try to gesture to the blanket, “maybe.”

“Good! Take a nap and when you wake up, maybe Halsin will have come up with another ‘natural remedy’ to try.” He sat up on his knees and leaned over you, careful not to touch you or accidentally fall on you. He brushed his lips ever so lightly to your forehead, before immediately pulling back. He offered you a gentle smile. “You’ll get through this, love. And I’ll be right here if you need me. I promise.”

(so, where to begin? i guess from the simple fact, that i wanted to do smth fun with this clean-cut parallel. at first, i wanted to make some quick edits, but then, i decided what the heck. i might just re-draw it! *or sort of re-draw it anyways*

the shippy stuff is shippy, but really it was hard not to be all like *insert dicaprio pointing meme* when i was reading the venom comic, and flash just pulled a batman on me. beat jack up, n’ then instead of killing him, like he wanted to, he spared him. took him in his arms all gently-like n’ carried his sorry ass into the dawn. like man, it just hit the cords within me! i was all like oohhh, it's like in one of my most fav scarecrow issues! i wasn't expecting this from the comic, even less so from flash, who always had a bit of bipolar resolute, when it came to jack. 'he wanna kill him, he wanna kill him not'. that sort of thing. yet, this moment kind of shown, that he prob will always find a reason to talk himself out of putting him down.

that's aside, another part of why i love those stories, is that both issues felt personal. both, jon n’ jack had personal grudges, both batman and flash were struggling with personal darkness within them. both overcame it, n' literally had to beat up their personal walking-talking nightmare *flash even refers to jack as that later on*. like, it was pretty great, honestly. all that emotional baggage, uncanny kinships with their own twisted mirror, which resulted in them actually feeling sympathy for scarecrow n' jack. giving them a small speech, that they couldn’t hear *bc unconscious*, sort of implying that maybe ‘they’re not beyond help’. it's almost bitter-sweet. even if most people would argue, that both jon n’ jack are way-way too far gone at that point. even if 'solution' sounds too unrealistic to be true. still, if someone like batman believes in you, then maybe, just maybe there is a chance. n’ if someone like flash spares your life, even though, he’s nothing like bruce *he actually killed people before*, then perhaps, there is smth beyond projection, which made him do it. 

all 4 characters are very different, n’ thb the context in everyone’s motivations n’ struggles are very different too, but i love how bruce n’ flash came to the same conclusion. took the same route with their respective twinky ghoul. showing mercy is noble, n’ it’s pretty sweet tbh. one of my fav tropes in fiction is when the hero/protagonist shows kindness/empathy toward their villain *who in most cases doesn’t ‘deserve it*. that whole cop out thing about 'evil should be punished by death' in fiction really takes away the romantism n' bendiness of fiction as whole tbh. esp with heroes. they supposed to be able to do 'impossible', including 'forgive the unforgiving'. this is why i prob will always advocate for the ‘no kill’ rule for super-heroes. i mean, it makes you have moments like those. smth that is actually emotional n’ also shows the cracks in heroes themselves, bc usually they can only truly relate to their rogues, someone who is usually designed to be a warped up reflection of hero’s own weaknesses, struggles or traumas. n’ while i always see jack o’lantern as spiderman’s villain *he’s one of oldies, a classic villain after all*, i suppose, that this version of jack was tailored for flash’s venom specifically, n’ i *unexpectedly* i loved it. daddy's issues run deep in this one for both of them. meanwhile, bruce be out there lecturing jon's school bullies, after he nearly killed them. what a man lol.

now, the comic panels themselves. just for better visualisation.

i didn’t include the first bit in my lil art thingy above, but i love how not only the venom mirrors batman in actions, but also how they’re even facing opposite sides, playing around with nearly opposite color pallets in each fight too. caters to the mood, but also it just looks nice side by side tbh. the blue/black/grey for batman, and orange/dark brown/yellow for venom. a dark knight / soldier n' maskless halloween villain. this prob the only point, where they connect narratively n' thematically, but it's a major one.

anyho', i didn't had a hardcore goal to re-draw those scenes to a t, just make it recognizable for the most part. but it was fun! also gave me an execuse to stare at those comic panels some more.

as for the song, it popped out inside my head kinda randomly. but it fits them, i think. even the tune itself adds to it. somewhat sad n’ slow. but the meaning of it, not fully hopeless. at least, they will always have someone there for them. after all, guys like jon n’ jack will always come back, seeking ‘their hero’, hungry for punishment or other things. n’ for someone as crippled as bruce or flash, it might not be the worst thing, really. usually, the hero is stuck in the same miserable 'unchanging', unwinnable situation as their villains are. be it outside forces, fate or sickness, that keeps them bond. it's still better to try and make the best of it, right?)

I like to think someone decided to be an idiot (/aff) while Wars was away. Legend had to watch it unfold and is so done with life, and when Wars got back he is questioning his and his companions’ sanity (the singular one, apparently)

Also, goofy thing that you might notice, but when doing the first Wars’ hands I kept placing them to where it looked like he was doing the like “polite lady” gasp with a hand over his mouth, which… while funny… would’ve been a very different vibe hehehe :3

Star Wars design studies and other doodles

Decided to just bundle up all the Star Wars doodles I had lying around from this year into one post since... it would seem the only way my brain knows how to get used to drawing things is by making either memes or just drawing the first thing that comes to mind...

Been trying to do a lot more studies as of late of things and one of my favorite mechanical designs, quite possibly ever, is General Grievous. I maaaay have a bias to it though because repetitive shapes in designs are my favorite thing and he is just... full of arrows and V shapes... Which is why drawing his full body, be it chibi, was really fun to do! Though that drawing definitely had some room to improve, I was just aiming for the overall idea of Grievous. Finding references of him that aren't from the front was definitely a fucking journey xx*xx ... I had been planning to do a study of the back of him as well but after cross-referencing 5 different photos of him to get the side view I was a liiiittle intimidated by that ahahaa... That being said, he is incredibly fun to draw, especially his little disc ear thingies Also yes, I am spreading my Grievous and EV-A4-D agenda around, you are powerless to stop me.

In between doing that, my friends and I were re-watching Clone Wars (2008) and got to the first batch of the Cad Bane episodes. And, though a little clunky, I'm incredibly intrigued by Todo's weird droid body type - how he finds balance is beyond me... Aside from having another shape-heavy design, I dislike Cad Bane's treatment of him and was compelled to draw him enjoying life because he deserves it. >:'[

top five clothing items you wish you'd wear more often, please! and the five you do wear the most, please!

Oh heck! I still have asks from that ask meme thingy I reblogged 2 weeks ago, sorry for taking so long!

Hmm, tough to choose specific things I wish I wore more often. I do have a bunch of fancy 18th century things that sit in my closet most of the time, but usually when I leave the house I'm either going to work or to the grocery store, and I don't feel like being super fancy for that. Cuff ruffles would get in the way of all the hand washing and such, and breeches would be annoying at work because I use machines with knee levers.

I guess I wish I wore my nice shoes a bit more often than just for photos, but they were expensive and I don't want to wear out the leather soles. Maybe I ought to get little rubber soles added.

Oh, and my embroidered monster waistcoat! I wish I wore that more, but it's from an older pattern that doesn't fit me very well. The embroidery is also a bit worn out in places, alas.

It's a bit difficult to know which things I wear most frequently, but here are my best guesses for right now. (My summer answers would of course be different.)

1. This brown wool waistcoat from early 2019. I wear it all the time in the cold half of the year.

Just like the monster waistcoat, it's made from a pattern I drafted before top surgery, so it really doesn't fit me anymore. It's also getting pretty shabby. I've been meaning to make some new everyday plain wool waistcoats for a while now.

(I wear that green shirt pretty often too.)

2. This cap. It's just two pieces of linen, and I made it in 2018. I like wearing caps indoors when it's cold, and also under my wool hat outdoors. It adds an extra layer of warmth, is softer than the wool hat, and protects it from my very oily scalp.

I have 3 of these caps, but this one is my favourite. It's also something I ought to make more of.

3. These pants. They're just plain black cotton fall front pants.

I could pretend I'm wearing them the most because they're fully lined and therefore warmer than my other pairs, but the fact is I've got 3 other pairs of pants with holes worn in them that I need to patch and have been avoiding for a shamefully long time. It's a pretty easy thing to fix, and I will likely put it off for several more weeks, if not more.

I feel the need to point out that not all of my wardrobe is in such a miserable state, I at least have a good amount of shirts!

4. I don't think I have any pictures of it, but my winter coat is just a plain medium grey modern (by which I mean at least a couple decades old) wool one. Here's an image I found on google of approximately the same coat.

It was my grandfather's, and is a bit too big for me, and the lining is getting pretty worn out. Someday I want to completely pick it apart, recut it, and re-sew it with a new lining, but I can't do that until I have a backup winter coat.

5. This poor flannel nightgown which has finally worn out! Just a few days ago it developed a huge hole in the back panel, and a small one by the button placket, so it's destined to be cleaning rags and/or firestarters.

The buttons might end up on another nightgown though. So I guess this is no longer a thing I can wear frequently :( In the linked post I actually made 3 nightgowns from the same pattern, and that was the medium weight one, so now I'm down to the very heavy fish print flannel one and the light rayon one, and need to make more. (A very common theme with my wardrobe things, alas. I am slow.)

But I did just finish a new nightgown this week, made from a completely different pattern that I'm quite excited about! I'll get some pictures soon!

119 what on earth is a summer read? XD but some other fav books of mine are

- Lies we Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley, an interracial lesbian story set in the US during the segregation

- Dracula by Bram Stoker. Seriously if you haven’t read it yet do so it’s amazing. I love seeing all the Dracula daily memes now, when I read it years ago most ppl just knew some movies that have nothing to do with the original plot and the original is great!

- Erebos by Ursula Poznanski. That one just… I couldn’t put it down, it’s so thrilling and good.

16. sections you hate having to play through when you get to them?

the driving parts. or sitting in the car shooting things -parts. the one in re5 is the worst and I loathe it with all my heart, but i also hate the driving part in re6. moreso in Chris's campaign, I can tolerate it in Jake's campaign (and strangely enough the snowmobile bit is better than the car or the bike but I still don't like it lol). and I hate the jetski driving in re4 too. i just. this is not a driving game. stop trying to make it one!!

also i don't hate all driving games lmao I love Mario Kart but... this is decidedly not it. the controls either blow or then I just am too stupid to learn them who knows :'D

I only actually keep replaying re6 and re4 so I'm mostly familiar with them, i don't remember clearly enough if there are parts (aside from driving) in other games I'd really hate. but uhm.

OH. the slippery icy slope in Jake's campaign in re6??? you slip ONE MILLIMETER FROM THE TOP and the damn thing slides you ALL THE WAY DOWN without you being able to stop???? ICE DOES NOT WORK LIKE THAT. if you can walk on it? you can stop yourself sliding on it at some point urghhhh i hate that :'D

uhm. not super fond of the maze of a ship in Chris's campaign or the marketplace in Leon's either but mostly because I keep getting lost in both of them. and the entire first third of re5 is kinda boring? 😅 I'm sorry. also the fight with Jill getting the gem off her was so tedious.

100% Illidan, Kael is a forever passenger because he drives over the speed limit and no one will ever let him drive himself because of that

Their music taste is very different but also varies in the tone. Kael's is more agressive and upbeat- pop, rock and rap you would listen to while at the gym- while Illidan's is more angsty and deep, from blues and jazz to heavy metal and punk. So it really depends on your preference

Who wakes up earlier?

Illidan goes to sleep later and gets up earlier, just works like that.

Favorite personality trait of the other?

Kael adores Illidan's soft side, how open, and often blunt he is with people he trusts, his honesty.

Illidan loves Kael's sense of justice, his rants, how talkative he is.

Illidan loves Kael's hair, how soft and shiny it is. He loves to brush and braid it for him before bed.

This one is pretty obvious. Illidan is sensitive to cold from his time in captivity, when he spent years laying on the cold stone floor. And Kael emits heat even when not using his abilities.

They often argue about how much they mean to one another. They both have a hard time trusting people and it's easy for them to go from "I love you" to "Okay but would you love me if I was a worm??? NO???!!! OKAY FUCK YOU THEN"

Illidan, although both of them are very stubborn. But Kael would rather die than say sorry first.

Kael didn't immediatelly like Illidan, his first thoughts were set on saving his people and Illidan was originally just a tool to achieve that.

Illidan originally hated the posibility of helping a proud prince, and didn't really plan on delivering on his promises before he caught feelings.

Numerous, Illidan's nicknames for Kael are lovely and truly meaningful -my sun, sunbird, angel eyes, my fire- with lovingly said royal titles making the list as well.

Kael's on the other hand are way more childish and Illidan originally hated them. -Illy, emerald tits, raven man- coupled with calling him "old man" on special occasions.

Kael is the one to yell "HE SAID NO PICKLES" on Illidan's behalf.

Kael dreams of a rich royal wedding and Illidan would love to deepen their bond. They would absolutely get married if their circumstances were different.

Kael'thas treasures one memory the most while in Ravendreth. Before the fight with Arthas, they exchanged their vows to never leave one another. It is bitter sweet but he loves to think of what could've been if only he kept the promise.

Illidan's favourite memory is the first time seeing Kael on the battlefield. The young prince, filled with energy, force and dedication.

What made you fall in love with Gallavich? Gosh this is a heck of a question. I think there are so many contributing factors to what makes them so iconic and loveable. The coming-of-age of it all, the yearning, the passion, the humour i find in their exchanges. A lot of it is that I was looking for something to love. A lot of it is down to the commitment and repeated refusal by Noel and Cam to treat them in any way like a joke. The acting. idk. I think really though what happened is that I loved them and then I came here and I fell in love with everyone here and now i can never leave.

How long have you been a fan? I watched my first episode of shameless January 2021.

Favourite Gallavich moment/scene? This changes with every breath. Right now though, tamale kiss deleted scene.

Favourite Shameless character apart from Ian and Mickey? vascillates solidly between V and philLIP. And kind of Iggy.

Do you write or draw or make edits? No one wants to see my 'art work' lol but I do write some things occasionally! I have been working on my coffeeshop AU Ristretto for over a year now and we're only four chapters from the end and I am determined to finish it this calendar year. And then all of my other writing can either be found there on ao3 or somewhere on my blog :)

Favourite type of Gallavich fics? I will read anything as long as I can vibe with the writing style. I'm not fussy about content/subject matter, but I am fussy about vibes.

Okay hear me out here.

The Percy Jackson movies are good.

Now I do have an explanation for this.

They’re good - ignoring the books. Like, if you take them away from being the stories of the books.

Like how they do Grover! I love Grover in the movies so much. I can’t lie, in the first movie, with the Hydra I think it was, all I could think of was that “OH SHIT! OH SHIT!” meme because that is so something Grover would do.

Now, I’ve just been watching them, I’m just starting Sea of Monsters right now, as I can’t wait for the series and can’t read the books right now, and I needed SOMETHING. I can’t really remember the movie too well, so I’m mainly talking about Lightning Thief in this post.

Just one thing that REALLY annoys me, regardless of the story, is when Percy and Luke are fighting, and Percy is about to be beat, so he uses the water from the water thingies to attack Luke.

That could have KILLED Luke, he was holding the embodiment of fucking lightning. Electrified water is very very dangerous, could have very easily killed Luke. Percy was being extremely reckless.

Also just the things that they miss out, like the Laestrygonians at the start of Sea of Monsters and Clarisse in Lightning Thief, and Tantalus in Sea of Monsters again. All these little things, would make it so much better. I understand that they didn’t have the time as it’s a movie, but at least Tantalus would have added to the movie so much if done well.

(Also random side note, I always imagined Clarisse as rather bulky, not a skinny little thing like in the movies.)

As amazing as the series looks, and it does look amazing, I think they should re-make the movies too. I don’t even care if they aren’t completely book accurate at this point, just make them a little bit better here and there, and they’d be amazing.
