I feel like he wouldn't be very scared or jumpy ??!! You call him a psycho bc you're screaming at every jumpscare and he is just laughing at you ??! What the hell??

You ask him if he likes horror games or something and he says “Not at all, I even hate scary movies.. but I don't find them scary, just gross” Like he’s grossed out by gore more than he finds it scary

So when you play this horror game which just involves hiding from a monster, he's not scared at all, he's just laughing at you. >:(

Until... all of a sudden there's a cutscene, where the monster does something reeeeally creepy, say takes on a new, scarier form

Afterwards he goes quiet, but he keeps playing

Suddenly after playing for a little longer you just hear him really quietly gasp out of shock- he finally got killed by the monster

“Haha okay, L-let's play another game now..”

WHO IS AVA FLORENCE AND WHAT TO EXPECT?

          AVA FLORENCE'S surprise signing with Porsche's new Formula 1 team has sent shockwaves through the motorsport world. Favourite LS Fandom Memories

This is such a sweet game that @thisbuildinghasfeelings came up with! Thanks also to @strandnreyes and @welcometololaland for the tags (Lola, I’m assuming that was a tag and if not, just lie and tell me it was).

Here’s 5 favourite things:

1. That time I started thinking about the legalities of Carlos putting TK on the deed to the loft

I was doing my skincare late at night, started pondering, and ended up reading both the Texan standard sale of property contract and the Texan Property Law Act at midnight, then I woke up to a very lengthy fandom discussion about how it might have happened. Even better was that this discussion spawned a debate about the ownership of Schitt’s Creek and how that could possibly have worked elsewhere.

Which brings me to my next favourite thing:

2. The fandom Venn Diagrams

I was drawn into LS because @clottedcreamfudge kept sending me the Butt Bounce™️ gif (you know the ones, from 1x02) and then @three-drink-amy shared the proposal and I was sold. I’d already seen a lot about the gay howdy wee woo show a bunch of mutuals were watching so it wasn’t a hard sell.

The overlapping fandoms delight me though! I love seeing people from one fandom start with liking gif sets and then they start rb them and then I see them pop up in my ao3 emails so much. I love being told that I’ve posted so many Tarlos gifs that someone started watching just to see what it’s about. I especially loved those of you who tried so hard to resist the inevitable, only to end up creating gif sets and writing fics.

I love it so much because that was me too, desperately trying not to fall too hard into a third fandom 😅

3. Beta reading

I’ve had the privilege of getting to beta read, help plot and brainstorm some of the most (in my very objective opinion) iconic fics in the fandom and I loved doing it. Helping plot and brainstorm fics is actually my favourite part of writing and the fact that people are willing to hand their drafts over and trust me with their words means so much to me, whether it’s an epic AU, or someone’s first foray into writing for a new fandom. I still can’t believe that anyone let me beta read a sportsball AU, let alone three of them lol

I run a series called Script-A-Day here, where I highlight custom BotC scripts I think are novel and interesting! It used to update daily, but you run out of good scripts quickly that way. It updates weekly on Fridays!

I'm pretty new to the whole tumblr thing, all things considered, so this is also something of an experiment. My inbox is open: if you've got a question or request, please go ahead and shoot me a message! I haven't seen a lot of dedicated Clocktower posts here on tumblr, so I'm doing my part to interface with a community of people who enjoy the greatest social deduction game ever.

I've been in the BotC community since April of 2023 after getting introduced by a friend who brought the game back with him from college over spring break. I've been hooked since then!

Online, I mainly haunt the Unofficial BotC Discord Server, where I've attained the status of Community-Endorsed Storyteller for both live voice and asynchronous text games.

In-person, I'm involved with running a couple of IRL groups of friends that I helped introduce to Clocktower. We get up to shenanigans: if I ever mention the Philo-Steward incident, that's where it originated.

I play a lot of non-Clocktower games, too, and might post/rb posts about them:

Board games: Spirit Island and Power Grid are among my favorites, but I generally enjoy strategy games!

Video games: The Binding of Isaac (duh), Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling, and Baba Is You are all up there. I really just enjoy anything with a good soundtrack. Well, and Pokémon Showdown.

HEADCANON FREE SPACE - GRIAN

hi hello!! this post is a free space for people to come by and share their headcanons about a specific mcyt character, and this post is for grian!

grian is like. one of those chars that are just headcanon central, so i thought it be appropriate to start with him

not-exactly-rules but some guidelines + my own headcanons under the cut!

- GO ABSOLUTELY NUTS!! share as MANY as you like, i literally don’t mind if you’re going to make a ten page essay about your headcanons. just go wild, just as long as it sticks to the character of this post! bc if it i do multiple characters on one post it might get overwhelming and messy

- you can either do it in the tags or you can just reblog and add to this, i don’t mind as long as it’s convenient for you! you can add to other people’s rbs but i do think it would be better if you rb it straight off this post, but that depends on you!!

- if you want to reblog with your design as well so you can explain your hcs, go ahead! i would absolutely love to see how people design the characters individually!!

my grian headcanons cause i wrote a whole thing in my notes app:

- in my hc, the forms of watchers are dream-like and amorphous, basically visual mindfucks in appearance. grian who was fairly new to the watchers still kept his regular human form, but those who have been watchers for a very long time eventually would lose their individual human identity, and is assimilated into the collective that are the watchers. grian, if give or take maybe a century, the same thing would have eventually happened to him.

- his wings, gifted to him when he was ‘taken’, are generally amorphous and shifting, and you can never focus what shape they’re supposed to be (they can give you a headache the longer you try to look at their genuine form), but he can disguise them in any shape he wants (bird wings, dragon wings, etc.) so it doesn’t hurt to look at them.

- grian cut off his association with them just several months after he was taken, joining hermitcraft not long after, estranging themselves from them.

- he can still use his powers (which include astral projection, and etc.), but because of his cut ties they’re significantly weaker than the average watcher. for example, watchers can ‘watch’ over an entire server, but grian can only ‘watch’ one person at a time.

- his reasons for not wanting to be assimilated into the watchers is that he knows what it’s like to have been pushed and forced to take up a role against his will (ahem high school ahem), and it’s hurt him and he won’t want to let it hurt him again. aside from that, he finds that the watchers are extremely boring, considering all they do is observing passively from the sidelines and all that, which is the complete opposite of how grian likes to operate. he finds it extremely restrictive and prevents him from actively participating in things. not wanting to be confined to that, he cut ties with them.

- however he still uses his powers for troublemaking and mischief, and also to help others when they need it. he doesn’t consider himself affiliated with the watchers because he thinks it’s merely some godly title and also because he wouldn’t want anyone to think him differently, so he doesn’t really hide it.

- as he denied his watcher status very early into joining them, he still has the physicality (stamina, energy and such) of a regular human. only his wings are amorphous instead of his entire form since his wings were given to him when he joined them.

- made the life smp as a fun game for his friends, but in my hc, they did a test run before starting 3rd life. it was during that test run when the watchers seized control over the server.

- during 3rd life, he put admin restrictions on himself to remove his wings so he couldn’t fly and it was fair game for the rest.

Hello lovely people heres my One discourse post!! I want to keep this blog focused on the kind things but i want to get some things off my chest.

I dont have twitter but ive heard all the unsavoury things. I am not having fun on tumblr either. Going into my usual tags and seeing so many greyed out posts with blocked terms.... For me the main drawback to enjoying this is the fandoms behaviour, and seeing the streamers so hurt is even worse; having them goof around WHILE talking about getting messages with death threats.

Of course its very important for streamers to address these things, call the fandom out and (if they so wish) talk openly and honestly about every horrible feeling theyre feeling. I wish they keep doing that.

I also wish people were kinder and the streamers didnt have to be this hurt. Please choose to be kind. We all came together to watch qsmp out of love - for the streamers, for the game, for the roleplay, what have you - so please choose to keep loving.

I don't know if my methods could ever work for anyone else as they do me, as I attribute a lot of "this" to serendipity but...

...It seems to me I really took off after opening my inbox up to doing detailed ask memes about the characters. Again, this was kind of luck on my part because I spoke very lovingly (albeit truthfully!) about a few mega popular characters, which caused two of their fandom BNFs to kindly reblog my posts, and that sent a bunch more asks for the WHOLE rest of the Kirby cast my way!

I'm sorry to say, it does take a lot of energy though. But I do get the struggle, as I'm often exhausted by life/lots of jobs. However, if you can find any sort of mental "trick" to keep yourself going, you might discover you have more energy than you think inside you!

(Me, I'm very visual, and I keep a collection of my favorite fanart on hand. If I think I've exhausted myself on a character/ran out of ideas of things to talk about, I'll browse through my personal "gallery" and it will help me to remember characters/events/interesting points.)

As to the matter of confidence, you've probably heard the whole "fake it to you make it" bit and to a degree, at least, it's true. I've had a couple of posts where I've flooded the tags with things like "OMG this is so bad and I'm so sorry!" or "I had no time to work on this and it shows~" or "if this sucks it's because life is crushing my soul and I just want to sleep for a thousand years..." annnnnd unfortunately...

...even if it's how you're feeling At The Time, those things can make people feel like they're intruding into your space by liking or reblogging it. It's like, if you're telling us something so personal and private, maybe you really only want to hear from a friend right now, and not a stranger...? What I've done is I've told myself it's okay to write out those low self-esteem thoughts elsewhere but try to let the people who are here for the art/images/videos/writing/discussions just enjoy your art/images/videos/writing/discussions.

If you've got something to get off your chest, don't feel like you have to hold it inside, but don't hold your audience captive either.

(Also, something else fun about this: if you cast out positivity, you may find that it comes back to you, and when you look again at that thing you shared, it was NOT as "awful" as you thought.)

Now, a lot of that was about "external" confidence or what you display. As for internal confidence, that's... kind of a constant struggle. We all -- and by all, I I mean even famous published creators -- have times when we think our work isn't good enough. Annnd...

...Well, it isn't always great. But the fact that something isn't great now (even if it's the absolute best we can do at the time) doesn't mean we have no skill at something! We all have to start somewhere. And sometimes "somewhere" is a piece of art or writing or theory or humorous content that only 1-2 people think is "...Eh, not bad."

My first "hit it big" piece? My "Moon's Haunted" Kirby meme? Ohhh man, I can't STAND to look at now! I redrew it a few months back and if I were to redraw it today, it'd look better still, probably. The key is that I tried (...and that I meme-posted when the game was going viral >.> ) and I think that shone through??

(...It might be silly, but there IS a Nintendo Direct tomorrow. Probably no Kirby news, as I assume Vanpool's closure will bring an end to us getting multiple Kirby titles a year, but if you really want to try and take that ^ path, you can always get up early/stay up late and ready yourself to post commentary on any news!)

That doesn't just go for art, but writing/theories/HC as well. I myself find it a little sad when someone starts on a post and then will just trail off with "...lol I dunno, didn't think about it that hard."

"Don't say that, person on the internet," I cry! Do you realize how much information is at your fingertips right now? You can google for things even if you only know it as "that thing in that one movie about the fruit." You can watch a Youtube video in 5 minutes explaining the mechanics of something you've never seen or ever hope to do before! You can even watch a Youtube playthrough of a Kirby thing you forgot instead of saying "You forgot!" Don't know how to draw cloaks? Pinterest has millions of references! Don't like Pinterest? Just google "cloaks, Pinterest" and click on the images tab and you will never have to log into that accursed site! It just takes WANTING to.

Though sometimes, I think people write that out of embarrassment? Maybe they DID think about it but they don't think anyone would be interested? Or maybe they really didn't think about X or Y but didn't want to feel like they were neglecting anybody and that something is better than nothing. Which it is, but LOVE is even more important!

...And love, especially in a fandom space, can be ~complicated~

Like I mentioned above, I'm LUCKY that my top favorite characters also come close to topping the rest of "the fandom's" list. But as I've said before, I love every character in Kirby. Even the ones-people-want-to-throw-off-a-bridge-into-a-waste-treatment-plant..

And if I'd started off my tumblr as a "The Susie Haltmann Appreciation Blog!" as opposed to my actual "Hey I'm Completely Obsessed About Marx and Magolor and I Think About Them All The Time (...but I also like the Haltmanns from a story perspective for their heartrending tragedy that hits close to home for me...) Blog" I don't know if we'd be having this conversation right now. ^^;

(It doesn't just have to be all about controversy/"discourse" related stuff either. I could have started a "Daily Sillydillo" blog and had to retire it in a month due to low levels of interaction. The concept of fandom favorites might not be very egalitarian, when every character deserves to have their story enjoyed, but sometimes, strong love can make up for the lack of eyes on a thing. Occasionally ^^)

...Anyway, you might not have the energy, at least not all the time, and confidence might be a little low right now too, but you love Kirby, right? You have passion for it? Passion can get you a lot! And also, there's a few methods of interaction that, for personal reasons, I could not choose that have done wonders for everyone else!

For example, I have some old, unhealed trauma about OCs, but there's a whole hu~ge section of Kirblr that loves OCs and, as far as I've seen (??) tries to be really supportive about them?

Lastly, I can guarantee you, you are NOT a stalker and anyone who thinks being a "quiet supportive fan" equates to being a stalker should consider moving away from thinking of themselves and/or others in that negative way. You have stalked nobody! You have only shown an active interest in others! That is a POSITIVE thing!

And on that note, you're definitely not unwelcome either! Especially if you're one of the precious, wonderful people out there who reblog lots! If you want to get your toes wet, why not test the waters and build your confidence in this space by adding some of your thoughts onto your reblogs? You could build a rep/connections that way!

TLDR, sometimes gaining an audience/a space is a magic trick that no one knows the secret to. Other times, it is the result of months and months and months of hard, lonesome persistence.

The best advice I can give you is advice I would give myself:

-Be kind if you can, if you cannot, then be understanding -Demonstrate care about your interests and those of others -Forgive yourself for being at the beginning of your journey

-Enthusiasm, sincerity, and love are warm lights in this world of ours that can, at times, seem so dim and dreary. Light a little lantern for yourself and remember to laugh loud with joy that life is also so amazingly, ridiculously magical and before you know it, others will find their way to your light to add their lantern to yours!

“Let’s try this again,” Sully said, stretching his hand across the table. “Victor Sullivan. My friends call me Sully.”

The kid smiled a little at that.

He watched his daddy hang.

A part of him hoped the old man would end with some kind of pride. Show some spine. Jut his chin at the sky and meet his maker like a man. But the bastard was whimpering by the end.

She points it out as if he hasn’t noticed.

He almost laughs. Snorts air out his nose, but doesn’t bother to reply. There’d be no way to explain it even if he did. The watch’s face is cracked and the battery died long ago, but it would be like losing a limb to take it off. Some days the weight of it is all that keeps him in the world.

There’s so much he needs to tell her. So much he’s gonna have to teach her. But what the hell does he know? And where does he even begin?

He starts with the alphabet because even though she can’t speak and doesn’t even know what the fuck a letter is, he figures it’s a fundamental thing you’re meant to teach kids and she seems to like the rhythm and recitation of it as he walks.

The wire sliced into his skin like a snakebite, its barbs latching on and pulling tight into the flesh of his thigh, his side, his arm, ripping tears into his brand new shirt and all. Dutch’d given him that shirt just last week and he’d be givin’ him an earful for bleeding all over it, too.

He did the math without really thinking. His navi-computer was programmed to sync with the Galactic Standard Calendar, based on the Coruscant solar system, but a little conversion in his head and suddenly the date, and its significance, was embedded in his thoughts.

He tried to shake it off. Nostalgia served very little purpose except to distract you from the present, and besides, there was no one to share it with, so what did it matter?

Sam fidgeted at the front door, listening to the various noises of family life behind it. Little running feet; Nathan’s voice raised in a teasing kind of threat; that big dumb dog of theirs, barking its big dumb head off; Elena yelling at them all to stop fooling around, then giggling as she presumably got caught up in whatever game they were playing.

she's reasonably skilled with leatherwork and prior to joining the inquisition made her own gear. leather is the only material she feels confident working with though, and is subsequently the only material that gets ornamented. otherwise she reads - a lot. she and solas parallel play study lmao

Is there any art they are good/bad at, or interested in trying?

she considers some of her leatherwork to have an artistic bend to it, but it's not something she would call art. she's very focused on a piece being functional. and although she appreciates art in all its forms, she doesn't feel like it'd serve a purpose for her to create - she undervalues her own perspective and that shows here.

What is their comfort food? Do they cook it themselves?

she will eat whatever, she's not that picky. she likes tea... much to solas' chagrin. herbal, earthy flavors are her preference, but again, not picky.

An activity they like to do with their partner(s)/bestie(s)

reading! and she practices shapeshifting with morrigan - it's an important bonding activity for the both of them.

Would they be able to lie their way through a card game?

absolutely not. she struggles to hide her feelings and reactions, and although she's aware of it she's uh... really not getting that much better about it

With no regards as to whether it exists or is realistic, what would they want as a pet/companion?

something small and soft. i can see her with a cat tbh.

Do they have a night-time ritual? Does this differ if they are at their own residence vs somewhere else (e.g. camping)?

she has really, really bad insomnia, so her nighttime ritual is mostly "lay down and pretend like i can sleep." she probably gets somewhere between 3-4 hours of (interrupted!) sleep each night, but she spends a lot more time than that just laying down in bed. when she's with solas she falls asleep much easier. her nighttime routine in that case is, well, normally cleaning up after some fun with him... regardless, basic hygiene stuff and she usually brushes her hair and dresses in comfortable clothes before laying down

What is in their inventory?

almost exclusively practical items - extra rations, sewing materials, bandages and a few other basic first aid items, empty waterproof/oilskin wraps for things like herbs found while traveling, etc. as she's out and about she will take small mementos from animals she's killed, so those go in her pack as well but they stay in her room at skyhold.

Their preferred dress in these settings: Daily, formal, casual/bedding down

daily: long-sleeved but loose tunics, breeches, simple, muted colors formal: whatever josie picks. she's not into formal looks and she doesn't have a strong sense of fashion anyway. if she did pick her own outfit, she'd choose something that looked powerful rather than beautiful casual: same as daily tbh; for bed she usually takes her breeches off and switches to a short-sleeved tunic; alternatively, she'll sometimes sleep in a slip since several nice ones mysteriously ended up in her dresser at skyhold (she suspects josie)

After the events of the Main Plot, did your OC go back home, or reunite with their people from before? Why / why not? If they did, then did they bring any new friends/partners with them?

There's already lots of magic in the HM/SoS games, but sometimes you just want a different kind of magic. So what will it be this time? Will you drop your favorite characters into a world full of wizards and dragons? Will you have them play a fantasy game together? Sketch out what they would look like as D&D Characters, map out what they would play in a tabletop game? Or will they just be your humble farmer trying to make a living in a world where a dragon might come visit their farm on a whim, or mermaids and fairies are their closest neighbors.

💝 what is a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?

hmmm, I'm a litte surprised that my Hawkeye/Frank fic got a lot of positive comments, but as a smaller pair it does kinda make sense since people looking through the ship tag are more likely to find it and be excited about a new fic.

Also in general any comments about someone being emotionally affected by what I write is a little surprising (and really awesome), because I'm pretty emotionally detached from my own writing, and I tend to aim for subtle indications of emotion over big statements and idk if it works most of the time lol, so if I make someone feel some kind of way it feels like a real success.

💋when you leave comments on a fic, do you want to hear back from the writer?

I actually don't care either way, whatever the author does is fine with me. If I leave a long involved comment I might look forward to a response, but if I don't get one I'll forget about it in a day or two anyway lol, and it's nbd.

🍭why did you start writing?

Like way back when I was a kid I just had ideas I wanted to express somehow, and I was no good at drawing lol so it had to be writing. I usually only wrote summaries and outlines of stuff at first, then I started writing scenes and failed attempts at fic that never got anywhere bc I'd run out of steam after half a scene, then longer scenes, and now I'm finally writing full fics. And I still write because I have ideas/opinions/hot takes that I want to express and sometimes meta just doesn't cut it.

There's also a 'be the change you want to see' mentality lol, I only feel inspired to write if no one else is writing [concept]. One nice thing about being really picky about characterization is that the motivation to write remains pretty constant, because the more specific I am about what I want to see, the less likely it is that someone else has already written it.

🌿how does creating make you feel?

I enjoy it! If I didn't enjoy it I wouldn't do it lol, I have v little willpower to push myself through something I don't want to or have to do. I do find it most enjoyable when writing from Hawkeye's pov right now - like I genuinely really enjoy describing things from Hawkeye's pov, the comparisons he makes, the way he phrases stuff, it's super fun to emulate and I always get a little kick when I write something that feels genuinely funny or witty lol. If I'm writing "my own" prose (or BJ's pov lol) then I find that the act of putting words together feels more like work and I have to get enjoyment from just creating what I want to see.

I'm actually unofficially planning to polish up and finish a Berserk wip I've had in my docs for like 5 years for a fandom event, and I'm wondering if I'll have fun or find it a chore lol, since I'm not at the height of my Berserk obsession and neither character has an intrinsically fun voice to write in.

alright, so, big announcement that absolutely no-one saw coming I'm sure,

I won't be active on this blog anymore. why is that? I'd like to start over, in a way. my interests have somewhat shifted since I was last active here, and I need a new, fresh, more personal space to encourage those interests and my connection with them. I'll be posting there about things I have to (or don't want to) do, maybe occasional doodles, reblogging shows and games I like, talking about aforementioned shows and games, brainstorming about translations WIPs and other things I can't think of at the moment.

as for updates. now here's the real kicker not even I have figured out yet. I have two linktrees. one of them is my personal-er one, with the same username of the blog (linktr.ee/cotidasa) I'm moving to. this one is frequently checked by me to see if everything is in order, sometimes I mess around with the display of the links, but it's always under monitoring and should be OK anytime you check it.

but I also have another one, with the same username of THIS blog (linktr.ee/stm.pnk). why is this? mainly cause of my pinterest and cause I don’t wanna be identified as a fanfic enjoyer (haha oops). regardless, this PROBABLY WILL BE subject to change. this specific linktree might get deleted entirely at some point and I’ll merge my accounts with my rebranded ones, who knows? stay posted for the /cotidasa linktree for my most recent activity. I genuinely wish I could find a better, more efficient way to word this paragraph, because rereading it I sound absolutely ridiculous, but this is the best I can do LMFAO so just stick around or reach out through my personal linktree socials if you got any questions, I'll be happy to answer

what will be of my signature, watermarks… etc… that’s still unknown, sadly. BEST EXPERIENCE: I really don't know tbh. Apart from meeting some long-term friends through rp I guess the only thing I can remember was being part of the DR fandom when the third season(s) were airing. I know that fandom has a negative reputation but it was genuinely great during this time. Seeing everyone's reactions to the weekly eps, theorycrafting, and being right about the twist by reading the lips of an animation ? It was so fun. I'd actually love to relive that kind of thing.

RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS: Lack of communication, especially because it's extremely difficult for me to reach out as is. Blogs where majority of it is smut and its not an nsfw sideblog. Blogs that rb their own promo several times a week. I've legit seen some where it was daily. I'm sure there's more but that's a solid three.

MUSE PREFERENCES: I don't think I have any ? So long as we can plot something fun out, I'm game for anything. Or does this mean muses that I prefer to write ? For me, I somehow always end up writing muses that have some kind of parental ( or lack thereof ) issues. It is 1000% NOT intentional. I just like complex little guys that are kinda broken and maybe can't be fixed. It makes their relationship with those they choose to be around all the better and more meaningful.

PLOTS OR MEMES: Both ! Though I do prefer plotting for brand new interactions just so I don't have to dance around how my muse should treat my partner's. Especially if they haven't interacted in canon.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: Long. No matter how short things start, I very quickly lose the ability to shut up. My partners don't need to match it of course, but I don't want to write four paras and get like 1.5 in return.

BEST TIME TO WRITE: Without fail it's when I need to get my ass in bed because I have work the next day. That's when my brain decides it suddenly has the juice to reply to a thread.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): I was once told that me liking Scara made sense but idk what that meant. If I really had to say, I guess I'm most like Lyney. But not for any of the positive reasons lmao. This is mean 😭🤣 Uh, all of them? Most notably my fic about the near-divorce of Tom and Chyler, though. And this one Iron Man fic I have to kick myself in the butt to finish.

@rainintheevening I’m going to try to get yours done before 2024, but that may come into the new year with me too. I have a whole two sentences written 😂😂😂

From Underestimated.

It’s not the most profound or clever thing I’ve ever written but I liked the look into their relationship here. Even though Tom and Chyler have some fun with their situation in other fics (they have to, really, or it would eat them alive), the husband-wife vs. superior-subordinate tightrope is not easy to walk at all. Which is why it would never happen, of course, but how else would I make this off the wall rarepair AU? 😂
