Wyverns are spirit guardians originally meant to protect ghosts but sorta evolved away from that and just live as their own species now. Except the “wyvern realm” is actually purgatory. And this is way Raven refused and still refuses to ever leave Malachi’s side. He’s still got a lil ghost in him

i feel like the same could be said for raven, garroths wyvern, as well. i don’t remember if he was supposed to be the family wyvern or what relationship garroth had with him exactly besides his messenger, so it’d be cool if there was more explanation on that too. like did garroth just stumble upon raven while running away, or did raven seek him after he was gone. what was their bond like to result in raven being his messenger id like to know !!

I WISH we saw more Laurance and Ungrth in mcd. Like seeing Laurance be a badass dragon rider. But NOOOOOO. Ungrth had to die. I feel like it would have been cool seeing more Ungrth and Laurance content.

I wish we had more story for those two. I love the idea of a boy raised by a wyvern. Lost by society. Young wild boy, messy hair. Can't speak any language except wyvern. Lost when he comes back to society.

This is such a fun concept for a rewrite. Like for more of Laurance's backstory.

I could have my MCD rewrite end in complete angst with no happy ending. I could write about how the void [the end poem entities] and their chosen [the player(Irene-Aphmau)] are and always will be connected, and how Irene/Aphmau are the Source/Center. I could write about how Irene/Aphmau are a part of the void that is simply wandering in the overworld. I could write about how the void is fond of their chosen. I could write about how the void isn't meant to spill into the overworld, and each time Irene realm hops, she has to repair the barrier rips. I could write about how her realm hopping/creating ends up creating multiverses. I could write about how when others break the realm barriers, the void spills and eats away at worlds unintentionally as it tries to contain itself. I could write about how it really isn't trying to destroy and devour but needs the players [Irene-Aphmau] to piece it back together. I could write about how after Irene slumbered away in her realm for 900+ years, others tampered with realm magic, making things unstable and constantly tampering with the realm barrier after trying to obtain that which they cannot control. I could write about how the universe was becoming unstable, and Hyria knew it was time for Irene to return. I could write about all the strange void encounters Aphmau experiences in her life and how, without her memories, she's afraid of it on a primal level because it CALLS to her. I COULD write about how Aphmau is a special case in the MCD world and how death is different for her [the VERY drabble that STARTED this thing that ended up becoming the MCD rewrite]. I could write about how after regaining the Irene Relic, something happens in between the space-time continuum, and Laurance gets blasted into Void Paradox. I could write about his adventures there before he eventually ends up back to his dimension, where everyone is just coming out of the Irene Dimension. I could write about how, in season 2, when Aphmau gets void burned, its consumption of her is more so an old greeting/hug. It sinks into her flesh, and it terrifies those around her because they fear she'll die, but the void has no need to kill her when she will choose to return to them on her own volition. I could write about how in MS, it's implied that Aphmau never got to finish raising her daughters (if im understanding MS lore right). I could write about how to completely stop the void from resetting the universe, Aphmau would have to give herself back to it. Forever. Return to nothing, and becoming code once again. I could I could I could.

As Modzilla says in Void Paradox, "It's all been caused by an imbalance, some kind of temporal shift happening somewhere out there in the dimensional universe. You see, the void is not some kind of spectral entity that craves complete and utter destruction. It's simply a clinical force. Here to correct the imbalance or anything that might be in its path to it BY using complete and utter destruction. Thereby resetting the universe back to its primal state. Nothing."

I was watching S2 last night and I did not connect Levin & Malachi’s voices at all. I thought Malachi was voiced by Andy Cowley (Garroth & Jeffory's main VA) because to me it sounded like Garroth and Malachi speak with the same cadence, but Kellen Goff's always voiced Malachi. Andy Cowley used to voice LEVIN though - he voiced him at the start of S2 and Kellen later took over as Levin's VA is both MCD & MyS.

We're learning things today, y'all.

Zane Ro'meave in my fic is just down unluckly. Not knowing what his ansector did, nor what his future holds. But stuck with being a prohpet and dealing with two different people who knows the potential that he holds.

Mind you, he is currenlty wrangling the equvilent of two feral cats running loose in his home after stiching them right back up and one of them is BENT on revenge for everything that he's done.

I wish I could write FASTER so I can get everything from my brain out into the world to keep discussing about it. I'd love to explore more about this world I've been making.

Some thoughts on Wyverns

We as a fandom need to talk about how ridiculous the whole "you need to be descended from divine blood" to talk to wyverns thing is. Like... Why?? The wyverns were literally just chilling in the overworld, and though they may have taken things a step too far when they taught the divine warriors about realm magic, the Divine Warriors were just people. They weren't born divine, they were turned into them by the relics, and the divine warriors have no real connection to wyverns beyond existing in the same time.

"Oh but maybe the relic gave them the power to commune with the wyverns!" Then why can their descendants do it? Is the divine something that becomes part of their blood and is then passed down regardless of where the relic goes? And even still, it ignores the fundamental truth that wyverns are literally just there. They have another realm, but in the time of Irene they were just chilling out. Just some big winged lizards with intelligence.

Intelligence enough that they would have just... developed their own language with? Obviously after the disaster that happened with the Divine Warriors, wyverns pulled back and stopped being a common thing in Ru'aun, they weren't always like that. Wyverns likely had friends that weren't the divine that they communicated with.

So for my rewrite I'm gonna recontextualize this. Wyvern's had their own language, one that a human would have to learn as a sign of loyalty to their wyvern companions, but after wyverns dipped out, their language fell into obscurity. While record of it exists, these records are hard to find, and not always in the best condition. So while it's theoretically possible to learn their language, it's incredibly difficult.

Unless you have a relic. If you have a relic or are the direct reincarnation of a Divine Warrior (not the same as being their blood descendant), then the memories of the relic/divine allow a basic understanding of wyvern communication. They can have conversations with wyverns, but sometimes a wyvern will use a word they've never heard before, or just have forgotten the meaning of.

All this to say that Vylad totally learned how to talk to wyverns while in 15 year isolation and so did Travis (even though he didn't need to) and they communicate with one another in said language sometimes just for funsies. Laurance and Garroth know some level of this language due to Ungrith and Raven, but in different ways. Unrigth was Laurance's friend, he cared deeply for him, and likely would have taught Laurance his language as they grew up together. while Raven and Garroth clearly have a connection, Raven insists that they are not friends and clearly wasn't a consistent presence in Garroth's life. The only reason Garroth understands him at all is because he's Esmunds reincarnation.

Vylad and Laurance using this wyvern language to communicate when Laurance is having a Shadow Knight moment? Absolutely. Travis trying in vain to see if he can translate this speech into some form of music or language? Yes please. Aaron being completely and utterly confused when he understands this language he has literally never studied and that being a vector for the cast to figure out who's a reincarnation if they notice that pattern? I'm just saying.

Some things we may have forgotten

I've been rewatching MCD and taking extensive notes on it in hopes that I'll never have to watch it again and this is just a list of things that I don't see mentioned or brought up very often/ever that we should talk about and think about more

In the first episode Garroth tries to attack Vylad (angst potential) and Vylad literally just combat locks him by logging out of the game. This is objectively funny and should not be rewritten in any capacity. This should be canon as it is in every universe.

Aphmau's cat Meowki gets randomly killed in Episode 12 by a skeleton while Kiki is right upstairs. Just saying, there's some angst potential there.

In episode 11 Garroth reveals that he knows some medicine. Pretty sure this is never brought up again, but we could always bring it up.

Logan is apparently good with a bow while Zenix is trash at it despite being a self proclaimed "expert archer" which I think is very funny (I know this is part of Zenix's cover but what if we took it seriously it would be so funny)

Zoey is originally from the river village, as is Donna. Pretty sure they retcon that for Zoey, but I like to think the two of them could have been friends before Phoenix Drop.

Garroth actually almost dies in episode 15. Like Dr. Doctor says he will probably die soon at the start of the episode. And he doesn't get healed until episode 20. He literally spends 5 episodes laid up in bed dying.

Brendan's at his side probably angsting the entire time I'm just saying if you want sad gay fanfics, it's sitting right there!

Azura and Garroth were friends as kids??? Hello???? I think this is just a massive plot hole considering what Garroth's actual backstory ends up being asjfgshjdfgjk

Okay but if we twist it a little bit, they were friends as kids as in like at the guard academy??? Bc they're like vaguely teenage/young adult so maybe that's what she means? In which case I wanna think about that more because childhood friends to lovers is one of my favorite romance arcs ever. But is it really childhood friends if you met when you were like... 18?? And you're in your like mid to late twenties probably, I wouldn't really classify that as childhood friends.

I don't... I don't even have a joke here, this is just a massive plot hole. Like all of this is just not true to Garroth's backstory as we know it. Grew up in the same village? You mean O'Khasis?? Where Garroth also FAKED HIS DEATH????

Moving on, in episode 19 when Aphmau confronts Zenix and they fight, he actually apologizes to her. As if he regrets having to hurt her for the sake of his/the Shadow King's goals.

The Lord of Brightport says the Shadow King "used to be a lord". Which like... Okay, I can bend backwards a few ways to say that he could be referring to how Shad started Falcon Claw, but how the fuck does this dude know that??? I feel like Laurance constantly just stumbling into plot holes by complete accident

Dale is apparently a Garmau shipper, going as far as to ask Aphmau if she plans on hooking up with Garroth. I like to think that he and Molly have a bet going for how long it takes for one of the two of them to finally fess up.

Raven's mom tried to eat him??

a round of MCD headcanons for my eventual rewrite project:

Laurance never regains his sight. His face is mauled with void burns from Ungrth tearing the boundary of the Nether and the Overworld. In fact, he can only see when in shadow knight form :)

Garroth x Laurance x Aphmau frfr

Werewolves actually don't exist. They are replaced with Lu'pines, the wolffolk, who cannot turn people and morph between a teue wolf and wolf-ish human (think mystreet werewolves, leona, etc).

I lied. There are werewolves. But they are not the lu'pine. They were led by the Ultima, a cursed man, but were all slaughtered by decree of the High Priest of O'khasis.

Only two survived. The red-eyed ultima and a lu'pine-werewolf who follows him whispering that their cause is just and that they are the perfect lifeform and the ultima should turn or slaughter everyone in their path. The ultima is not pleased.

Witches and warlocks are not a weird seperate species of people. It's a profession, some have immense talent, but it's not a birthright.

Aphmau, Garroth, Lucinda, Laurance, Travis, and Aaron are reincarnations of Irene, Esmund, Menphia, Kul'zak, Enki, and Shad. Aphmau is NOT Irene.

The Irene Dimension is actually limbo. That constant chiming is actually to keep those inside from losing themselves in the nothingness.

Aphamu's total love interests are Garroth, Laurance, Zoey, and Aaron. No one else.

Garroth and Laurance treat Dante like a son. He's only a couple years younger than the two and HATES this.

The process of becoming a shadow knight is essentially being maimed, killed, and injected with shadow knight blood. Once ressurected, the knight is essentially undead, bloodlusted, drawn to the Nether and Void, and briefly physically weak. During that period of weakness, initiates are often abused and beaten in any way the others see fit to "break them in."

Zenix and Vylad were taken prisoner by the shadow knights to transform. They were frnding off the knights to save a small village and let them escape. Vylad sacrificed himself as a chance for Zenix to get away, and he ended up tripping and getting captured anyway.

It tooks years for Katelyn to get over Jeffery's death. She went into the Irene dimension to protect Abby and was horrified to learn that Abby had to geow up without her. It haunts her to this day.

Hyria knew the moment Lucinda was born that she was Menphia's reincarnation. She taught Lucinda magic against her father's wishes because of this.

Laurance is a meif'wa. It's funny.

Laurance can speak wyvern. After Ungrth's passing, he speaks with Raven for a long time about the event. Raven joins the trio's cuddle pile that night.

Zoey loved Aphmau. Aphmau might have loved Zoey, too. But after she was trapped in the Irene dimension for so long, Zoey realized that her love had not only weakened her but was futile, she had maybe three years left to live. She gave up, dying of a broken heart a mere year after Aphmau returned.

One day is eight in the Nether. One day in the Irene dimension is one year in the Overworld.

Levin and Malachi are about ten at the beginning of season one, and around 14-15 at the end of it. The gang is trapped for 7 years this time.

The gang trapped is Aphmau, Garroth, Laurance, Zane, Katelyn, Travis, Lucinda

Zane might have actually loved Kiki if he stayed long enough. They had sex, it wasn't a weird pendant that made Kiki pregnant :/

Alina is Aphmau and Garroth's daughter. Lillith Garnet is hers and Laurance's. It shatters Shad Aaron that Irene Aphmau chose them over him. He succumbs to the latent destruction of his nature.

The Divine Warrior's poweful magical prowess has also cursed each of them. Shad became a werewolf, the Ultima. Irene would always lose her emotions, in each lifetime she lived. Esmund would be last to die, alone and hated, unable to keep his family safe. Enki would lose his sanity to the demon Micheal he had sealed away in his mind. Menphia would suffer the same curse as Shad for defending him, as the first vampire. Kul'zak would be blinded to the knowledge he thirsted for, each and every time.

In modern MyStreet, "werewolf" is synonymous with lu'pine. The Ultima is a myth. Something of note is that there are also rumors that a Maxima meif'wa would exist, with eyes of silver-blue.

Sasha claims shadow knights don't feel, but she lies. She still loves Kenmur. She still looks up to Candenza. She still sees Laurance as a goofy older brother. She pretends she doesn't.

Gene did do all those horrible things. He probably kissed Laurance at some point too.

Much more species diversity, lore and overall explaining. Currently, we've seen humans, lu'pines, meif'wa, wyverns, vampires, ghosts, and elves in the series proper.

Raven wakes up with a long metal rod impale through her abdomen, head’s bleeding, there's blood everywhere as she lays in the rumbles.

It’s loud, somewhat.

The constant ear ringing and the throbbing of her head took her a few moments to be back to reality.

The reality of living the last few moments, maybe just minutes of her life.

It was only her and the world.

She blinks once or twice, feeling her vision growing blurry. The single tear slipping out her eye was almost comforting, it was warm against her cold skin.

She wished as her eyes slowly falls, she thinks she saw something moving in the distance, footsteps crunches and voices that seemed familiar, but she never did find out what was it.

The last scene is just Price trying to shake Raven’s shoulder, but she was already gone.
