In another world, in another time, we would not have had six Divine Warriors. We would’ve had seven.
In another time, things could’ve gone very differently. If just a few outsiders without understanding of magic hadn’t interfered, then we would have known The Seven. Matron of Truth, Destroyer of Sufferance, Protector of the Honorable, Fury of the Righteous, Keeper of All Wisdom, Wanderer of the Trails, and Seer of the Deep.
Malachi Morgesten was sent to an isolated keep when he was young. He never left that keep, at least for the next 500 years. If one man had simply made one different decision, Malachi would’ve never gone to that castle. He would’ve grown up. He would’ve taught himself how to understand and control and use the magic he was born with; magic he was born with thanks to his distant ancestor, the champion of the god Opinatior.
Malachi was born with power over dreams; the imagination that takes hold when a person falls asleep. However, this went hand-in-hand with fear and nightmares. A person’s deepest dread whether from the past, future, or their own mind. It was for this reason that he was outcasted, and his town’s fears were swiftly directed at him. In this other world, by the time when he would’ve been a young man, Malachi was alone in the world. He traveled aimlessly across Northern Ru’aun. Perhaps one day he was meant to find himself in the town called Nahakra. A place, north of O’Khasis, where a certain group of six often rested.
Perhaps Malachi was meant to meet them. Perhaps Malachi would’ve helped them with some sort of mission, and in doing so they would’ve realized he was…like them. He would’ve realized they were like him. Perhaps he would have nowhere else to go, except for the people who’d held their arms open to him if he’d so desired. Perhaps he was always meant to join their group; the first place he’d ever felt he belonged, where he didn’t have to hide himself. Perhaps in this group, he would’ve grown a friendship with a man named Shad.
Shad was the only person who was feared because of his magic as well. The rest of their friends were different. They were considered blessed, meanwhile Shad and Malachi were the opposite. Death and fear went hand in hand; no one understood it and everyone saw evil in it. Everyone thought it was malicious no matter how it’s used.
It is unknown whether such a friendship between Shad the Destroyer and Malachi the Seer could have prevented Shad from ever wandering off that one day, when he’d gone into the forest and touched that strange rock. But even if he couldn’t have prevented him from doing that, even if Malachi’s presence couldn’t prevent any of the following, maybe, just maybe, a friend like that was the one thing that could’ve helped Shad in the most critical moment.
Malachi’s power was the only one that allowed him to see inside the mind of another. He was the only one who could’ve seen what was truly happening inside his friend’s mind. Maybe with this knowledge, the warriors could’ve found another way. Maybe with Malachi, they could’ve never reached that one last resort. They never would have spent the rest of their lives thinking that Shad had truly betrayed them.
But…that was in another world.
In this world, there was an isolated castle and a renowned warlock scholar. There was a man who was a good one, more or less, but he had failed in his attempt to fulfill his promise to Sir Morgesten before he’d even begun to try. Witchcraft and Magic were entirely separate concepts. He could not understand Malachi’s power, and he could not understand why it refused to be locked away. In this world, that man was not prepared for the power hidden in the soul of this child left at his doorstep. He was not prepared to be faced with his own demons every sleeping moment for months and months—
Perhaps one day Malachi didn’t even know he’d been doing it. Perhaps one day, the man looked at the boy and saw nothing but his nightmares. Perhaps it had been terrifying enough for him to lash out instinctively and push the demon away. Perhaps he hadn’t realized that Malachi was standing on the edge of a balcony three stories high.
The world went on for centuries and centuries. Malachi never met the six people that deep in his soul he’d been yearning for since the day he was born. the Shadow Lord rose and fell. The Divine Warriors lived and died and lived on in the hearts of all Ru’aun. The Matron disappeared. Their grand island city of the fables vanished. Their last friend retreated away into her forest, waiting and waiting.
Then, that friend met a Shadow Knight. She gave him a staff of pure divinity, and Irene was born again. Lord Aphmau of Phoenix Drop ventured out to the Eastern Wolven Tribe one day, and that was the day she met a man named Dante with a woman she knew well, Donna. They led her far, far into the north, and in the process of saving Donna‘s beloved, they found an abandoned castle, and a lost spectre of a boy with magic unlike anything seen since the time of the Divine Warriors.
RE: “When Shad had gone into the forest and touched that strange rock”. Explained at the beginning of this.
Opinatior, god of dreams and imagination, is part of the pantheon of old gods courtesy of @pumpkinprincess22 ! (list was expanded, but this post has most of the others)

Irene Shala’shaska
Esmound Ro’meave
Enki Olavson
Kulzak Aranak’nai
Menphia Cordeza
Shad Um’branis
It’s also my headcanon that Elves don’t typically have second names, but also the direct translation is more like this:
Zøë (Ru’aunized to Zoey)
Gabräl (Ru’aunized to Gabriel)
Røkoh (Ru’aunized to Roco)
Røsia (Ru’aunized to Rosa)
Tiyäni (Ru’aunized to Teony*)
Miträlda (Ru’aunized to Matilda**)
I have yet to decide on surnames for Logan/his family, Dale/his family, Ivan, Ivy, Sasha, and Zenix)
*Teony and Kai are are both Jurors in my rewrite, and Teony is half-elf
**Matilda is also half-elf, making Levin one-fourth.
In total, Hyria, Zoey, Roco, Rose, and Gabriel are full elves, Teony and Lucinda are half-elves, and Levin is one-quarter-elf.
I’m actually for real we as the Aphblur fandom need to ban together and give everyone who doesn’t have a last name a fanon one bc every time I tag these characters I cry bc they’re so unloved in the aphmau lore they don’t even get a full name :,(

Wyverns are spirit guardians originally meant to protect ghosts but sorta evolved away from that and just live as their own species now. Except the “wyvern realm” is actually purgatory. And this is way Raven refused and still refuses to ever leave Malachi’s side. He’s still got a lil ghost in him
Idk I saw a post abt Malachi with the spirit world and for some reason my brain went to wyverns

Can You tell me about Levin and Malachi?
Hmm, well regarding them most of it will remain close to canon? The only specific things I can think of atm is that when Aph adopts them they both take her last name (Shala’shaska), and when Malachi was turned back into a human he didn’t actually loose his magic, he just tells people that because he’s scared of them being afraid of him. (But also, the ‘can see others greatest fears’ ability was more of a ghost thing? When Mal is a human his magic is actually more like an empath)
During the 15 year timeskip Levin does become Lord, and Malachi is his advisor and in charge of trade (which I think is canon?) and in S3-timeline Levin makes Malachi Phoenix Drop’s representative in the Alliance.
