Katniss, Peeta, and the messy in between.

For a while I've been seeing the sentiment of blaming the distance between Katniss and Peeta after the 74th games on Peeta entirely and I think it's rather unfair. It's a messy situation involving two teenagers who are both valid in their feelings at this point in time.

There's multiple things going on at the end of book 1 in regards to Peeta's relationship with both Katniss AND Haymitch that it feel unfair to blame him, when Peeta, like Katniss, more often than not, is the last one to find out other people's intentions/plans, even from his own allies.

Now before I start, I feel like I must preface this by saying I'm not bashing anyone in this analysis so if you're gonna say something rude and mean about my babies, make that U turn cause I aint having it. Also I'm a yapper so this is gonna be really long lol.

It begins on the train tracks. Katniss and Peeta are walking along the tracks when Peeta picks her a small bouquet of wildflowers as Katniss is struggling to convey the kind of danger they are in, while also being paranoid that they're being watched. At this time, she also connects Gale to the wild flowers Peeta has picked for her and its adding her anxiety to the point where she can't even pretend to be happy at Peeta's gift. And that's something he picks up on.

When the train makes a brief stop for fuel, we’re allowed to go outside for some fresh air. There’s no longer any need to guard us. Peeta and I walk down along the track, hand in hand, and I can’t find anything to say now that we’re alone. He stops to gather a bunch of wildflowers for me. When he presents them, I work hard to look pleased. Because he can’t know that the pink and-white flowers are the tops of wild onions and only remind me of the hours I’ve spent gathering them with Gale.

“What’s wrong?” Peeta asks. “Nothing,” I answer. We continue walking, past the end of the train, out where even I’m fairly sure there are no cameras hidden in the scrubby bushes along the track. Still no words come. -THG - Chapter 27

Its not until Haymitch appears and drop the bomb and bows out that Peeta finally catches on that Katniss and Haymitch are still playing up the lover act without his knowledge.

Haymitch startles me when he lays a hand on my back. Even now, in the middle of nowhere, he keeps his voice down. “Great job, you two. Just keep it up in the district until the cameras are gone. We should be okay.” I watch him head back to the train, avoiding Peeta’s eyes. “What’s he mean?” Peeta asks me. “It’s the Capitol. They didn’t like our stunt with the berries,” I blurt out. “What? What are you talking about?”

“So, what you’re saying is, these last few days and then I guess . . . back in the arena . . . that was just some strategy you two worked out.” “No. I mean, I couldn’t even talk to him in the arena, could I?” I stammer. “But you knew what he wanted you to do, didn’t you?” says Peeta. I bite my lip. “Katniss?” He drops my hand and I take a step, as if to catch my balance. “It was all for the Games,” Peeta says. “How you acted.”

The truth comes out. Uh oh. It seems this star crossed lovers act when on longer than Peeta expected. Granted, I don't recall him or Katniss ever making their status official, but somewhere between the cave and now, Peeta thought both him and Katniss were on the same page about their feelings. He's not wrong for thinking Katniss liked him back, she does, what he didn't account for is Katniss not knowing herself that she liked him back.

I think Peeta learning the truth through Haymitch and not Katniss starts them on the wrong foot. Because she isn't honest with him for a majority of the time in this scene. Yes, Katniss was worried if the capitol could hear them, but even after Haymitch lets them know they can talk freely, she's still isn't 100% honest with Peeta.

Now here comes the big question.

“It was all for the Games,” Peeta says. “How you acted.” “Not all of it,” I say, tightly holding on to my flowers. “Then how much? No, forget that. I guess the real question is what’s going to be left when we get home?” he says. “I don’t know. The closer we get to District Twelve, the more confused I get,” I say. He waits, for further explanation, but none’s forthcoming

I'd be more than happy to dump all the blame on him for being a pissy baby after the revelation if it weren't for that last part at the end.

Peeta's hurt, yes, but he can rationalize that Katniss had to play lovers for the games, but here, right now, he's asking what he should be expecting when they get home. The words aren't there, but the subtext is loud and clear.

This is a confession. I'm hurt. But I still like you. Do you like me? Will we have something when we go home and the cameras are gone?

Katniss gives him her most honest answer yet. She doesn't know. She's confused and she's getting more confused as they get closer to home. And that's it. That's her answer. But it isn't enough.

Peeta explicitly waits for more of an explanation from Katniss. He hears nothing about her thoughts, feelings, fears. He only knows what she tells him. And when he doesn't get it, there's no other way to take it as a rejection.

So now what?

“Well, let me know when you work it out,” he says, and the pain in his voice is palpable. -THG- Chapter 27-

“No, I ate at the Hob,” I say. “But thank you.” My voice doesn’t sound like my own, it’s so formal. Just as it’s been every time I’ve spoken to Peeta since the cameras finished filming our happy homecoming and we returned to our real lives. -CF- Chapter 1

The camera crews and reporters packed up and went home. Peeta and I assumed the cool relationship we’ve had ever since. -CF- Chapter 2

And this is why I feel like it's so unfair to solely blame Peeta for their distance between THG and CF. This distance came from both sides.

Peeta ends Book one asking Katniss to be honest with him once she figures her own feelings out. But she never does. She just picks up her life and tries go back to what it was before the games.

Was he waiting for an answer? How long did he wait? When did he give up and accept that whatever was the 74th was something his mind made up while he lying half dead in a cave?

Katniss has a valid list of a million things that are clouding her feelings for Peeta. We know them because we're stuck in her head. But Peeta isn't. And to be honest, I don't think he ever knows all of them throughout the trilogy.

I want to tell him that he’s not being fair. That we were strangers. That I did what it took to stay alive, to keep us both alive in the arena. That I can’t explain how things are with Gale because I don’t know myself. That it’s no good loving me because I’m never going to get married anyway and he’d just end up hating me later instead of sooner. That if I do have feelings for him, it doesn’t matter because I’ll never be able to afford the kind of love that leads to a family, to children. And how can he? How can he after what we’ve just been through? -THG- Chapter 27-

And this isn't a silly little fling for Peeta. He's liked Katniss since forever. Has there been other girls that caught his eye? Yes, maybe, but Katniss Everdeen has always been a soft spot for him.

Now, there is a part of him that now as to wonder WTF was going on in the Games, in the Cave and the Interview that followed after. You know the one, where Katniss cries into his chest, buries her face into his chest and practically sits on him the entire time.

Unlike Katniss, Peeta now has to question everything because the rug has just been pulled from underneath him. Yes, he's aware about the lover act and playing it up for the audience, but he isn't aware that Katniss and Haymitch have some crazy telepathic connection to each other that was guiding how Katniss would act towards Peeta in the games. He was even delirious half the time. How far did that go? When did it even begin? He knew that Haymitch was sending packages to Katniss instead of him.

I'm not making this shit up because it's the one thing that Peeta outwardly expresses frustration at (especially) Katniss and Haymitch.

“This has to stop. Right now. This — this — game you two play, where you tell each other secrets but keep them from me like I’m too inconsequential or stupid or weak to handle them.” “It’s not like that, Peeta —” I begin. “It’s exactly like that!” he yells at me. “I have people I care about, too, Katniss! Family and friends back in District Twelve who will be just as dead as yours if we don’t pull this thing off. So, after all we went through in the arena, don’t I even rate the truth from you?” - CF - Chapter 5 -

So what is the point i'm making here? Oh right. I think Peeta is 1000% justified in withdrawing from Katniss after the train tracks. What else is he suppose to do? This isn't something he can bounce back and recover from right away. Taking a step back is the most mature thing to do in this situation. For his sake and hers.

I dislike the notion that his apology denotes complete wrong doing on his part. He's having a human moment and he navigates it better than most would. Yes, he freezes her out, but he doesn't berate her, blame her or is mean to her. He just fucks off and deals with his own emotions and only shows up to play the perfect boyfriend. (And when he does, he never does it with malice OR resentment, at least to from Katniss' obervation.) What other alternative is there? He's genuinely hurt and I feel like expecting him to be comforting and supportive on and off camera when he's hurting inside to be unfair.

We sympathize with Katniss because we're in her head 24/7. We can get to hear her yearn and pine for Peeta after the train tracks. But Katniss also just doesn't mention her every trying to fix her relationship with Peeta between books. She lets the ice freeze over until Peeta comes back to ofter friendship instead. Yes, she has trauma and more hang ups than the average modern day person, but so does Peeta. Trauma is an explanation, not an excuse. If Katniss is allowed three books to figure out her feelings for Peeta, Peeta should be allowed the in between of Book 1 and 2 to figure out his with Katniss.

There should be more nuance when we look at this point in time where Peeta and Katniss' relationship is estranged. Peeta has a lot of reasons why he might want distance from her and I think it's unfair to blame him for it. From him questioning the games, Katniss and Haymitch's involvement with each other and Katniss non-answer of a rejection to his feelings, there's a lot of things he needs to sort out himself. Yes, she saved his life, but she also doesn't answer a lot of questions he asks of her. Katniss doesn't owe him a relationship for what happened in the games, or even her reasons why she's not ready for a relationship. But in turn, we shouldn't blame Peeta if he personally needs time to pick himself up, to figure things out himself. And this is just one thing on top of the trauma that follows both of them after the games. He also just fucking lost his leg LMAO

#THG from Peeta's point of view is mostly him being unintentionally gaslit by everyone #including himself #I was on reddit and I kept seeing people bring up Peeta icing Katniss out after being rejected and blaming it on him #and it was erking me #and I know it's partly because Peeta is mostly flawless as character in Katniss' eyes and they're looking for his flaws #but I think its because they both like each other and they bring the best out each other #I actually think this estrangement is wonderfuly crafted by Suzzane #everlark #katniss everdeen #peeta mellark #the hunger games #thg #ramblings of a madwoman #I might have poke the bear with this one #oh well

The Housestaff at the Townhouse Of The Boisterous Author

Some new Fallen London background character designs of mine!

As many who are familiar with basic facts of the victorian era know, a signficiant portion of the population in the 19th century worked in domestic service. Within households servants had their own titles and roles, especially in wealthier families who had great many working within a house -

And, going along with that, many people, even those just lower-middle class, had servants doing the housework, which was an incredibly time consuming task in the victorian era. This was before stainless steal, when basic household items had to be made by hands, with ironing to be done, and so, so much soot around - it was a lot of work.

I'll spare you all a further ramble of all i know about servants in the victorian era - but suffice to say, and as many already know, I have been thinking about giving more detail into those who work within my Fallen London PCs households!

Viola

Age: Seventeen!

Role: Housemaid

Personality:

Anxious and shy, but very sweet and well meaning, poor Viola is not exactly the best at her job.She's extremely determined to figure it out, even if she has a habit of dropping things! Just give her the chance!

Previous Employment:

Viola previously, but briefly, worked at The Palace. Her elder sister who had worked their much longer had recently developed an illness, and the role had to be filled.

Things did not go well for Viola.

An inccident one day while Mst. Awnings was at the Palace led to a sort of confrontation, which ended in them offering her a job at their own home in the end instead.

Mary-Anne

Age: My, don't you know its terribly rude to inquire about a woman's age?

Role: Housekeeper

Personality:

It is Mary-Anne's job to run the house, and she is going to do it properly. Even if everything seems so set against her doing so....

Mary-Anne oversees all of the other staff at the house, and does not let them forget it. She is caring, but strict, and has certain expectations on the way things are meant to be done. She will never stand by and let things just happen - no matter who the one is comitting the offence.

Previous Employment:

Mary-Anne has been working for service for many, many years. It was her job on the surface, though her role and age was very different back then, and it is her role now. She had been the head of the staff at a large residence in London for many years now.

However after witnessing certan records and an incident by the former homeowner, Mary-Anne had refused to stay silent - which kept her morals clear, but left her without a job and without a recommendation.

She initially worked for Mst. Awnings alone, minimal job oppurtunities presented to her, and while she certainly complains about the... less typical attitudes of this household, she is not inclined to leave.

Edith

Age: Forty something or other. What's it to ya?

Role: Cook

Personality:

Edith has been round the block, and has been in and out of many kitchens in her life time. Her experience in resturants has built her, and though there's been a few flames here or there, she's not much inclined for worries.

Edith is rather gruff and improper, and isn't inclined to follow so called social norms. She'll do her job how she wants, and smokes wherever she damn well pleases. Ain't like she's hurting anyone, anyways.

You aint gonna find someone else who can work as well as she can.

Previous Employment:

Edith had been working at a particular resturant near Spite for a couple years now, and hadnt been much planning to move. However, during the GCO, Edith got caught among the chaos, and ended up sustaining a significant leg injury.

Her previous employer was not inclined to provide supports such as sitting in a busy kitchen job, and Edith found herself looking elsewhere. Which is how she found herself working in a house kitchen rather then a resturant one - with certainly an interesting state of requests.

Okay hear me out so I was watching the “Hazbin Hotel” series that is streaming on prime video and as I was watching the show I got to thinking? What is the? LOV had a S/O whose quirk is similar to Alastor the radio demon from Hazbin Hotel (S/O has a regular voice, but only uses Alistair radio voice only for show)

and the first time they fought against the heroes or the MLA (re-Destro’s army) and they saw S/O’s transform into there, demon form (because that’s part of their quirk) and the LOV were like “that is terrifying, but also amazing at the same time!” And it made them fall even more in love with their S/O😅

I haven't watched this show to be honest. I remember only seeing the original (which I think is the pilot?) way back a few years on YouTube. I'm hearing the pilot I saw wasn't even canon but whatever, it's all I got to go by haha. From what I can remember, he seemed to be super strong and creepy but also pretty funny here and there. I see things on social media about the show but it's mostly videos of the songs and cosplays. Anyway, wish me luck because I did no further research for this and I'm sorry lol)

-Impressed but a little scared: Surely Compress will tell you outright after witnessing you in action, that he's impressed (and whispers that he's a little scared). Up until this point you probably didn't display the full ability of your quirk. You never felt the need to and (yes, I'm capping your power) after using it you need to recharge for some days and possibly a week or so. It was a 'use fully only when needed' kind of power. He's not sleeping with one eye open, but he knows if you ever for whatever reason decided to do so that you could eliminate him and everyone around him. The danger never scared him too much. Twice knows you won't hurt him, but he also is careful not to step out of line. It's not like you don't love him as much as he does you...it's just that if one day you decided to turn against the villains then he knows he wouldn't be safe. This is BEFORE he harnessed his ability. Afterward he's a little more secure. Also is more than impressed and proud of you!

-In complete awe: (and yes I know Kurogiri wasn't available for the battle but if he were then you'd get a lot of praise from him) Spinner would have a small jaw-drop moment when he'd seen you pull your power out. He probably didn't know it could be so intimidating! He probably feels a small swell in his chest thinking of the bit of pride he has for you already increasing by the day. Then again, Spinner is proud of you for anything you do no matter what. Also in complete would likely be Magne too. She's going to be your biggest fan even if you were quirkless, but she assumed the opposite considering your voice changing on a whim. Feel bad for everyone else having to listen to her brag about you on a daily basis!

-Doesn't care and means it: No offense but Dabi likely doesn't care all that much. I mean, yeah he's slightly impressed but you won't see him fanboying over you or anything. However, your ability does make him take a second to look over his own. Perhaps he'll ask you to go toe to toe with him one of these days. Just be easy on him! Muscular is more along the lines of 'it aint shit unless you can beat me in a fight with it'. He challenges you just about everyday. He's pretty cocky to be honest. Refuses to admit you could possibly be stronger than him even if it's true. Not to be rude or anything but Moonfish doesn't care what your ability is or is not. All he really cares about it you. Which could both be an 'awe' or 'oh...' moment depending on who you are as a person. He doesn't mean anything negative by it! Just doesn't care is all.

-ACTS like they don't care but actually does: Shigaraki would pretend as much as he wants to but everyone knows he's rather amazed by you. He's always been this way with everything in the relationship concerning you. He's not all that open with you when it comes to how he feels. It's not till later in the relationship that he ends up opening more and more for you. So at the beginning "Yeah it's kind of cool I suppose but it really doesn't concern me in the least bit what power you have. It's about how you use it to benefit us and our organization." Then later it transforms into you being his heavy hitter on the team. He's conflicted between putting you on the frontlines because of your power and wanting to keep you safe near him instead.

on the topic of mutuals actually ! (+ my thoughts on blocking) long and winding non essay under the cut.

mutualism and friendship

it's come up semi-regularly in conversation in the past month-ish and i've been marinating on it so I guess I should write my thoughts down here.

i'm sure this isn't a groundbreaking brainwave no one has ever had before but uh . i think this is probably a product of having grown up with very little social media but i just dont particularly care for the concept of mutuals. i dont think about it. i think of people on here as friends first and mutuals second. "mutuals" is barely meaningful to me as a label other than shorthand for friends, and even then it is rendered useless by the fact that I think of some non-mutuals as friends.

idc if you follow my blog back, if we're regularly interacting and having fun then we are friends regardless of mutual status. the focus on "being mutuals" is, to me, a little impractical (and sidebar,, honestly its kinda crazy how divorced it is from the real human phenomenon of connection and friendship. hello!!!!! why we letting social media button supplant friendship and connection. not to be Old Man Yells at Clouds but what are we doing raising this generation to think about being mutuals and commenting/liking posts as some friendship obligation, on the same level as smiling at them or laughing with them. hello. what are we doing giving them anxiety about whether or not enough people liked their posts. what are we doing???? does someone wanna talk about this with me because it eats me up lmao)

I'd rather people follow me because they, idk, enjoy the little character bits i do + my unhinged liveblogging + occasional gifs and baking - rather than out of some obligation because we are friendly. don't put yourself through the ordeal of being flooded by sharks magma whenever they play a game just because we're friends LMAO i wouldn't do that for anyone if the situation were reversed !!

^on this topic, if I don't follow you back it doesn't mean I don't like you, I might simply not vibe with your blog. the decision to follow is not predicated on whether or not we have good rapport. it's literally just choosing to see your blog on my feeds. speaking as someone who has done a fair bit of leg work to curate my internet experience, following/not following is part of that. and I think of other people's choices this way as well. i think not vibing with my blog is fine! it is incredibly scattered and the content is NOT for everyone and that's okay.

on blocking

blocking simply aint that big to me. I don't take it seriously or personally if i somehow realise I've been blocked, and blocking others isn't personal for me either. to me it is, again, simply an act of dashboard curation. I think i'd be way more anxious if i thought about blocking in terms of liking/hating.

I block people for all sorts of reasons, silly or serious. Sometimes i'm just annoyed that day, sometimes they say stuff that is deeply offensive to me. There's a whole spectrum of feelings about the blogs subject to my blocking habits that fall between the two extremes. at the core of it, it's about not wanting to see them in my feeds. simple as that.

(by the by, I block from my main blog and not my side blog, so people can still see things from puckpocketed if they want, and I don't have to see them! WIN-WIN!)

blog =/= blogger. I try to keep this distinction clear in my head. when a person makes a post on their blog and I have a problem with it, whether it annoys me mildly (stupid rude shit on my posts) or genuinely offends me to my core (racism or something), blocking them is not about saying "fuck you". it is not the "I have moral highground" button. not to me.

everything falls under this umbrella: racism, misogyny, completely out of pocket comments on my posts, being mildly annoying. Blocking isn't personal because I don't actually know anyone well enough to hate them, and the act of curating my feeds ain't praxis. blogging isn't praxis. I have bigger fish to fry so to speak. I have a real life and people to care for and communities to build. I have poetry to read and dogs to say hello to. i got a whole life to live!

the content of someone's blog is a TINY portion of who they are when weighed against the rest of their existence. it is but a sliver of their life and their personhood. I see it like this: wouldn't like it very much if someone made sweeping conclusions about my personhood based on my blog posts, and so I try not to do that either. key word is try. I don't always succeed and I think that's okay. we are all doing what we can on this bitch of an earth <3 what is most important is I'm trying to give people the grace I'd want for myself. like . shit. isn't that what its all about?? (mini confessional: I was a mean and angry person for a long time. in some ways i still feel like i am. but learning kindness by studying it instead of having it baked into my brain chemistry or however the fuck other people get it has taught me that we have to try)

I'M BACK- I WAS GONE FOR A HOT SECOND, BUT YOU AINT GONNA GET RID OF ME THAT EASILY-

Not gonna lie, I was waiting for shit to hit the fan, until I was gonna go on a rant- This maaay not have been the best idea-

THERE'S SO MUCH GOING ON NOW- I AM EMOTIONAL ABOUT IT- I AM IN LOVE, I AM IN SHAMBLES- I WANT THIS SHOW TO RIP MY HEART OUT AND STOMP ON IT-

God, I am so intrigued to see where this is going! The character arcs get better day by day!

First of all, there's Eclipse- He keeps dissappearing for rather long periods of time, and anytime he comes back, he is just a little bit different. A little more docile, a little more half-hearted in his rudeness. A little more compassionate to help.

He's changing, becoming better, while still being Eclipse. All because he was shown a little kindness. All because there is someone who won't give up on him. Someone, who's love and care is unconditional, who looks beyond the surface, beyond snarky remarks and insults.

And God, Earth's words. It doesn't matter who he is, or will be. It doesn't matter, if he chooses to be Eclipse, or decides to rip this part of him apart and leave it behind. It doesn't matter, which name he will use, or what he'll look like. Because she sees him. He is the one who helped her, and who she bonded to. He's the one she cares for. There could be a day, where he decides, that he's not Eclipse. There could be a day, where he chooses a different name. She will have his back, because he's still the person she befriended.

The metaphors, the love. My heart….

But theres also the parallel to Moon. Because Eclipse is everything bad to Moon. The uncaring villain. Yet now they are changing roles. Eclipse is starting to care, and he is helping, in his own cryptic way. Meanwhile, Moon is slowly loosing it, becoming even more hostile and aggressive compared to old Moon.

Moon's descent is so tragic.

Moon is the big brother, the family's protector.

His love for his family is part of his system's very core.

When he beat Eclipse, he swore to protect them with his life.

His family is his purpose. The machine inside of him, begging for a task, has found purpose in keeping harm away, in keeping them safe and sound.

He is constantly focusing on making sure they're fine, obsessing over it, worrying beyond belief.

And now Solar is dead. His brother, a part of his family, is gone.

Moon failed his purpose. He failed in protecting his loved one. And he's driving himself insane over it, trying desperately to reverse it.

He hallucinates, afraid of loosing the rest of them.

He keeps belittling himself, comparing himself to old Moon.

Because he failed. But he will not fail again. He will bring Solar back, even if it's the last thing he does.

And he keeps his family oblivious. They cannot know, they don't need to. They'd try to stop him, and Moon cant allow it. Plus, ignorance is bliss. He will bring their brother back. In the meantime, he just needs to keep his siblings safe and sound, out of harm's way.

But he's also hurting them. Sun is worried. He knows his twin better than anyone, and knows something is wrong.

And Earth, oh Earth… She's now doubting not just herself, but others as well.

Moon is affecting his loved ones without realizing it.

And of course, there's Bloodmoon. Bloodmoon, who apologized to his brother, for not saving him. Bloodmoon, who ripped a bomb from his head, not caring about the pain.

Bloodmoon, who now has to refer to himself as "I" instead of "we".

He is so lost without his brother. He depended on him, always being guided. And now he's alone, and lost.

All he can think about now is revenge, even going to Ruin for help…

Worlds

The hero of Worlds could not care less about your height-- he doesn't mean it in a rude way but its just something he doesn't see as a big deal!

That doesn't mean he won't use it to his advantage and be a little shit--

Worlds is definitely the type of guy who will tease you when cuddling. Like, this man will press his cold ass feet against your calves, if he decided to be the 'big spoon', and will GIGGLE as your screech (wait-- can spirits even have temperature??)

Honestly he is at the perfect height for that-- standing at 5'4'' or 1.65 m it gives him the perfect reach to DRAGGGGGGGG his bare and freezing feet down your calf/shin.

He's even goes to tickle/taser your sides, and when you go to run away from his wiggly fingers he's quick to sling to your waist with his strong arms, making himself a dead wait that you would have to drag around--

Worlds' no caring for the height difference, would still prefer to be the 'big spoon' in cuddling positions. BUT he also really likes having your head resting in his lap as he gently pokes your face <3

The hero is quite laid-back when it came to physical affection, so its not out of the ordinary for the man to randomly come up from behind you and all but ATTACH himself to your bad! What a little sloth

Realm/Link

I like to think that Link is someone who has a DEATHGRIP on you when you two cuddle together. Like, YOU AINT MOVING UNTIL HE'S AWAKE /pos

maybe that comes from his abandonment issues, who knows

Standing at 5'5 or 1.68 m, it very much isn't uncommon for many to be taller than the hero, so your height doesn't 'put off' or intimidate him. If anything he'll find it a little flustering but wont ever admit it!

He's actually rather flexible with sleeping positions! He doesn't mind being curling up in your arms as the small spoon or having his arms wrapped around you as his legs are tucked nicely against yours!

BUT, if he is feeling really upset (whether from his own self doubt or harsh words from his spirit mentors) he prefers to be held against your chest, your hands brushing through his hair as he listens to the steady heart beat in your chest.

There can be some semi awkward moments as the hero gets somewhat buried by either your hair or back as your turn in your sleep, but Link is quick to laugh it off, never wanting to make you feel insecure or upset about your height!

All that matters to him is that you're near him, that you aren't leaving him alone until the sun comes back up once more!

Wild

Another 'short king' /j is Wild who stands at 1.77 m or 5'8"! So it isn't uncommon for Wild to find others (both hyilan and otherwise) who are taller than him! But from all of his exploring and adventure, he is very much used to that.

If anything, the hero takes it in STRIDES!!! He will gladly curl up into your arms and let you pull him into your chest. Wild would kill to have a nice, cozy night in with some comfort foods on the side while he's all nice and warm in your hold <3

Would MELT if you buried your head into his hair or if you just played with his hair in general. You're one of the FEW people that are aloud to go anywhere near his hair. Normally he'll just lay his head in your lap if he wants u to play with it but when cuddling he'll just tap at your hand for a moment before you catch the hint and play with his hair.

Normally, Wild likes being the little spoon just cause he enjoys how safe he feels when you're wrapped around him- which your easily able to do with your height, but he isn't against being a jetpack if ya want!

BUT dont expect to a normal cuddle sesh with the wild hero! Nono, the hero isn't against throwing some...pranks into the little cuddle pile when you least expect them >:3

One time he put hard pasta in his mouth before cuddles, and when you pulled him close he crunched down on it to replicate the sound of cracking bones before going limp in your arms.

After a panicked yelp from you and a swat to his arm after he revealed the prank, he was promptly denied cuddle privileges for a while....Worth it.

This could just be me but I feel the poetry here is to emphasize how Wukong and Sanzang are seen as a new founding pact, a team that is meant to be together highlighted by how the beasts around them gather together for safety as well

The greatest lessons to be taught You can't go around killing people who get in your way Is it effective? Yes.

Is it nice? No.

Also love how one of Sanzang's point is that they could get in trouble with the law and how he does not want to get arrested because of Wukong's antics

Very interesting they bring up Wukong's desire to be a true immortal in this circumstance. It is only true discipline and self-control will Wukong be able to achieve what he has always wanted. Also, love that it goes further into detail about how Wukong has to be the one to make this choice, he has to be the one to humble himself and realize he still has more to learn rather than thinking 'Might is Right' and that it's his way or the highway. I mean I don't blame him as he is experienced and old but at the same point he has to see that even though he has his flaws he has to admit to being wrong sometimes in order to learn from those mistakes and grow as a person.

((Hope you don't mind me sending a little one-off Christmas thing!))

A rather large present box suddenly appears from nothing in the Chaotix's agency. Where did this box come from? Regardless of where it came from, it appeared to have a lot of goodies inside, given the box's size.

On the tag, it's addressed to the whole Chaotix team, with this present being from Silver.

Once the present was opened, there was a bunch of gifts inside, each labeled for the respective Chaotix member. Vector got a new futuristic looking pair of headphones, Charmy got a bunch of honeycomb candy, Espio got a really puffy coat, Mighty got a new punching bag, and Ray got a new pair of futuristic looking goggles.

Along with the gifts, there was a note. The handwriting was pretty much chicken scratch, but it was still readable. It read:

"Hope you guys enjoy the gifts! I wasn't sure what to get for Mighty and Ray as I don't know them too well, so I just guessed. Merry Christmas guys!

P.S. Espio I better see you wearing that coat next time we meet. - Silver"

The detectives seem to be messing around, while vectors holding charmy up high for the little bee to put a star on the tree, as they just got done decorating as a family, espio is sifting through tv channels with a remote to find the perfect christmas movie, and settles on ‘die hard’- just so he can hear vector scream “ESA NO ES UNA PUTA PELÍCULA DE NAVIDAD!” (THATS NOT A FUCKING CHRISTMAS MOVIE), which sent the chameleon into a little laughing fit, but kept it on out of spite.

However mighty and ray take notice of the massive present, the two run over as charmy finishes placing the star utop the tree, and the two call the three over with ray being excited. Vector, lightheartedly annoyed by espios choice of movie, makes his way over as he carries charmy on his shoulder and espio by the tail, politely.

“Open it, open it, open it vect, cmon!!”

“Ray, be patient, remember what we were taught buddy.”

“But! But! Cmon!! OPEN ITTTT-“

“Alright, alright, I’ll open it no worries! Lets read tha tag first though, don’t wan be rude now do we? We gotta know who to bombard with christmas cheer later!”

Vector cackles as he looks at the tag, and grins happily.

“Future boy! I knew he wouldn’t forget bout us!”

Vector beamed, before setting charmy and espio down. His large claws outstretch and the massive crocodile tears into the wrapping paper and box to open it abit barbarically, but not injuring any of the gifts inside, chuckling as his tail wags. Ray and charmy chant and cheer as vector tears it open and they hop up and down to peer inside the big box. Vector gently takes the gofts, and hands each one out to the respective member ots made for. Taking the note, he grins and reads it outloud for the team. The kids chant out a ‘merry christmas silver!’ Even if he isnt here to hear it. But at the side note, vector glares at espio.

“Esp. Didja go out without a damn thing to wear ‘gain.”

“..maybe?”

“ESP! FA FUCKS SAKE, BUD! YER A REPTILE, YER GON FREEZE ONE OF THESE DAYS!”

“I thought it was fine! Because i was fine! I wont freeze over abit of snow you overdramatic gator.”

“MMMMRRRRRRrRRrR RAHRAHRAH-“

“Dont chomp your jaws at me, it’s Christmas! Calm your ass down.”

“You did not just pull the ‘its christmas’ card on me boy… uagh fine, but you’re wearing the jacket silver got ha when its cold from now on, ya hear me? The kids’ll have a special job ta make sure you do!”

“Uuuugh, fine!”

“GOOD! Now, lets enjoy the gifts and plan on how we can out-present future boy next year! Since uh..”

Vector turns to the window. Snow covers it. Their snowed in, to put it lightly.

“..we aint gettin outta here anytime soon, i’d think-“

“Plenty of time to rewatch diehard.”

Yasmin was such a brat at the baby shower 😡 Does she look down on Daniel for being a homemaker omega or something and not wanting more than to take care of his family? Or was she just going through a bratty teenage phase lol? Or is she just so Alpha that she doesn’t “get” why Dad would want a family like this instead of killing 24/7? She is such a daddy’s girl after all (for better or worse). I really like her and Terry’s dynamic!

I’m surprised Terry didn’t destroy her but I suppose he didn’t want to make a fuss and he can’t annihilate his own kid omg.

It was very cute and precious seeing how much he doted on Danny though 🥺 It’s definitely what Daniel deserves, especially after everything 😢 Baby number 8 🥰 Yay 💕

Something that Terry has never considered, given that his own family situation was so dire, is that people wouldn't automatically know how well they were being cared for. Yasmin has never known anything but the best of care, the deepest of devotion from both parents in their own way, and she's ended up feeling that she's simply deserving of it all. Which isn't inherently a bad thing, but coupled with her Alpha status in a completely sexist environment like the Mob, and her being a teenager, it's a rather rude awakening for Terry specifically. Part of it surely is bravado, and don't anyone touch her Mama, but yeah, she's really drunk the koolaid about omegas being there to serve her needs first and foremost. She doesn't even miss them around, she has her Luna, and of course Mama, so Anthony - who she doesn't adore the same way and who certainly isn't preoccupied with getting any of her needs met - she feels to be some sort of aberration, rather than simply a person. Terry, for the first time, sees himself reflected in a way he doesn't like, so he definitely feels that is time for Yasmin to experience life without some comforts, something he never thought he'd want for his pup. Something, too, that Daniel also wouldn't want, but might be good for her. It's not her fault she is an reflection of what she's been taught, but it aint pretty.

Personal Vent pt.1

This is about friendships and just general life lately I think from now on im gonna use 💚 in discord for friends that I know are green flags I can always count on and trust. Was tempted to also do ❤️ for those I know I can't but then it might be obvious im doing red flag green flag.

So lately I realized some friends just make me uncomfy. Ill be really honest. I see everyones flaws, including my own. I just don't bring up other peoples flaws because I find it rude to do unless they hurt me or someone else bc jfc.

I ask people very clearly "Just tell me when you aren't feeling up to listening to anything negative, be it when we share-trauma dump or gossip about drama. Whatever. " Like I know boundaries, I know how to respect them. But they have to be told to me ffs.

However people rather than tell me do one of two things A. never say anything until it boils over and turned into drama later B. delay saying anything until randomly hitting me mid convo (A MUTUAL CONVO BTW) with borderline shaming / self victimization even tho THEY were just trauma dumping on me and I was just relating back. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO OFF THE BAT TELL ME WHAT YOU CAN AND CANT HANDLE. For F*CKS SAKE. But nah instead you pile on me later on like I purposefully did it to you guilting and shaming me. Nice real nice.

For context: My friend lets call them R. Trauma dumps to me A LOT, I relate to them with my own trauma. Its how we bonded in the first place, we talk about plenty other topics and leading up to this I was wholly open and honest about my boundaries and encouraged the same and even respected the few shared with me. Well I get hit yesterday with this whole f*cking "Oh yeah dont talk to me about this topic it makes me feel really horrible to hear about this thing or talk about it. Respect my boundaries." then went into a whole spiel about how they have had so many "sh*tty friends who dont" The boundaries YOU NEVER TOLD ME THE BOUNDARIES I ASKED ABOUT 9 TIMES PRIOR to make sure you were okay with it in previous convos? The topic YOU started unprompted? The topic YOU trauma dumped on? The topic we have been on NUMEROUS times before and you had weeks of constant chatting to say something and NEVER did? Straight up they could have said "Hey sorry im usually okay with this but aint feeling it today" But ffs comparing me to their ex friends out of the blue as thought im purposefully messing with them. When THEY were the one who INITIATED, THEY were the one who asked me questions on the topic THEY were the one who wouldn't tell me PRIOR about these boundaries.

I talk to a few friends about this. They push the blame on me telling me I have to ask more about boundaries. Like im sorry did yo uall miss the fact THEY INTIATED IT AND EGGED ME INTO THE CONVO? or no?

I f*cking hate most my friends, there I said it. They make me feel like sh*t I'll leave pt.1 here and make a pt.2
