reposting the Red Hood redesign variations alongside other design variations sheets for other principal characters from Red Hood: Prometheus ‘cause I wasn’t really happy with my costume designs/redesigns for them either so decided to try other ideas (+ one extra doodle set of Batman with the 4th redesign for reasons I don’t remember, aside from some aspects of it being my favorite of the four)

as with before, most recent version is furthest to the right ‘cause I started with those and just scooted them over to make room for new ones. some have more or less than the others based mostly on how much room I had using the same file for all of them (thus Alan & Bruce have less variations mostly ‘cause of how much room them & their capes take up, lol). Jay is the only one with a unique pose because I was initially working on model sheets and decided to try more interesting base poses then got distracted doing variations, so the rest just use the basic forward-facing poses I had done under sketches for them.

Posting some more art, these dealing with the other half of the superhero game, some villainous proteges! When the kids aren't helping Batman fight the bigger villains, they deal with the younger minions!

Duela Dent, Joker's Daughter, has a very confusing history despite the fact that she barely appears in any comics. And the few that she does appear in, she keeps changing looks and personality. I wondered if I should split her between her per-crisis and post-crisis self( her post would have elements of new52). It would be one way to deal with her. She's something of an antagonist to the batkids, tho its more light-hearted fun than any actual maliciousness from her. She's kind of the leader of this little gang.

Enigma, sidekick to the Riddler also has very few comic appearances. I thought she would make a fantastic enemy to tiny vigilantes, being a tiny villain herself. She's much more vicious than Duela, tho Duela keeps her in line a bit.

As for the Scarecrow 'distaff counterpart', she's spun from the Batman Family comic, where Duela was running around as all the villain's daughters. So I got the idea to actually make a 'scarecrow's daughter' oc, her name could be something like scaregirl or something. She's quite the creepy girl huh? OC's are pretty fun to make!

There's also Kitrina Falcone, Catgirl. Catwoman has been shown to mentored girls here and there but there's only been one catgirl to my knowledge. I thought her design looked interesting and obviously wanted to make a younger version for my au. I think she should be around Tim's age maybe? She's very playful and kinda selfish, like her mentor but not too malicious. The batkids mostly just find her a bit annoying (she keeps stealing random stuff off them).

Finally theres Cleo Cazo, daughter of the Ratcatcher. I just call her Ratgirl tbh. While I have read the comics for Ratcatcher, I have not watched the movie Cleo appears in (barring some youtube clips of her). So her history is more in line with the comics, considering her father has been in jail for years, she probably lives with her mother or other family. She's mostly harmless, and doesn't really have interest in fighting the heroes, she just wants to play with her rat friends and sleep. She seems to have some sort of narcolepsy disorder.

Gotham City top Mole :

- Poison Ivy, talks to plants, always useful if something happens near a park. Hard to convince. Will almost always collaborate without telling it if the victim is a woman or a child. Always ask more space for the green in the city.

- Catwoman. There is strays everywhere in the city, and she understand them. In general more willing than her girlfriend Ivy. Will ask about her criminal record or us to look the other way during her next heist. If it's get to difficult, ask Batman to handle her.

- Harley Quinn. Give informations on the Clown Gang without us asking. Give her a cap, a gun with fake bullets, a badge and let her use the car's siren and she will tell everything we need. She won't work with us if her girlfriends are not happy with our deal. In this case, call any vigilante in town and let them share a batburger with her.

- Viktor Friese. Since WayneTech offered him a lab suiting his condition to conduct his researchs to save his wife, he is always willing to help.

- Harvey Dent/Double-Face. Already save the city more times than it's good to write it down. Everytime, we needed Bruce Wayne.

- Ratcatcher. He can talk to rats, and they are everywhere. Let him calls his family or promise him a better cell. In VERY LAST RESORT, theaten to arrest his daughter for complicity.

Red Hood: Prometheus, current designs for the principal cast’s costumes (+ lil logos and their ages), a rough design for Wonder Woman just ‘cause even though she’s not currently really involved in the story, current design for Superman (his gloves & boots reflect elements of his older sons’ (David & Kon respectively) costumes - when Jon’s older and officially a superhero he’ll add an element of his costume to his as well), and a doodle with a rough design of Two-Face.

So, I just watched a censored cut of The Suicide Squad (2021) on a plane...

Let me tell you, it was one of the weirdest movie-watching experiences of my life. All the intense gore and violence was kept, but all the swearing was re-dubbed over by the original cast and the mild nudity was cut, which really makes me wonder who the heck this version of the film was even for?? What kind of person can watch people get blown up into bloody chunks but can’t handle the word “bastard”??

Here are some of the highlights from the censored cut that I thought were the most amusing. Again, reminder that the original actors all ADR’d over the swears with new dialogue.

· Harley’s “What the FUCK??” at TDK was changed to “What is THAT??”

· Bloodsport and Tyla’s “FUCK YOU!!”s were changed to “FORGET YOU!!” like Ceelo Green.

· More F-Bombs from Bloodsport were cut, leading to “I’m no (fighting) leader!!” and “You’re threatening my (teenage) daughter!!”

· Calendar Man’s insult to Polkadot Man was changed from “You fucking pussy!!” to “You flaming sissy!!”

· Peacemaker: “Starfish is a slang term for (an anus).” How is that any better than saying “butthole”??

· The entire exchange about dicks on the beach was changed to be about bricks instead, as was any future usage of the word “dick”. “If this whole beach was covered in (bricks), and someone said I had to eat every single (brick) on the beach for liberty, I would say no problem-o.” “Why would someone put (bricks) all over the beach??”

· Ratcatcher 2’s “You bastard!” was changed to “You bad fish!!”

· The entire “Well that’s just racist” exchange was cut.

· Bloodsport: “Why the (blood) would I want a leaf?!”

· Peacemaker’s jerking off taunt was cut. Characters still flip each other off in this cut though.

· Flag and Harley get to say “freaking”, so I don’t understand why it wasn’t used as a blanket censor for the f word instead.

· Harley’s “RIP to that absolutely beautiful monster between your legs” was kept in.

· King Shark’s “FUCK!!” was changed to “Pfflegh!”

· Bloodsport saying “Pissmaker” was kept

· Ratcatcher 2: “Do you want a dozen angry rodents crawling up your (pants)??”

· The 69 joke was kept

· Peacemaker: “MOTHER(TRUCKER)!!”

· Bloodsport’s “Jesus Christ…” was changed to “Holy Moses…”

· Flag’s “Who ate all the empanadas?” has the f word cut and sounds weirdly friendlier in the take they used.

· Harley: “I love the rain~ It’s like angels are (spitting) all over us~!”

· I swear Thinker’s “Sonofabit-!” when he’s getting slammed in the retinal scanner was changed to “Sonofawit-!”

· Thinker: “AMERICAN (GOOD OL’) ASTRONAUTS FOUND STARRO! YANKEE (****) DOODLE DANDIES!!”

· Flag’s “It’s time these sonsofbitches need to be held accountable-!” was changed to “It’s time these (stinkers) need to be held accountable-!”

· Polkadot Man’s “FUCK!!” in response to the others forgetting Milton was changed to “FUDGE!!”

· One of the Corto Maltese generals shouting “Puta!!” was changed to “Nunca!!”

· Economos: “WE’VE GOT A (FREAKING) KAIJU UP (ON) THIS (SCREEN)!!”

· Waller’s whole rant at the squad was censored, so it was hilarious to hear Viola Davis scream the absolutely neutered “FILTH!! TURN AROUND, GOSHDAMMIT! YOU STUPID IDIOTS! LOSERS!! DAMN IT, TASK FORCE X! THIS IS YOUR LAST AND FINAL WARNING!!”

· Flo: “GET ON THE SATELLITE, DALE YOU (FLAMING MEATHEAD)!!”

· And lastly, my personal favorite censorship, only because it actually fits thematically, comes from Polkadot Man’s last words: “I’M A MOTHER(-FIGHTING) SUPERHERO-!!”

batman: the impostor (2022) / the batman (2022)

i love all the similarities between this comic and the batman. the author, mattson tomlin, cowrote for the batman, and you can really see the influences come through, not just through the art but the storytelling as well. some smaller scenes such as a robbery straight off the bat similar to the film, but especially parallels between riddler and the minor role of ratcatcher (though those comparisons really come to life in dano's riddler: year one) make this a great comic to step into after watching the film. not to mention bruce looks strikingly like pattinson here, and the eye makeup was clearly inspired by the film.
