I originally called this story Love at first sight. Before it was changed to Crossing Borders. So this art references what I called it for the longest time.

Raph and Leo screaming at each other until they're hoarse and one is sobbing and there's blood on the floor, until they can't look at each other and face the damage they've done, until one turns away or one concedes.

They don't leave each other alone if they're fighting-no stomping off and slamming doors. Raph follows Leo until Leo feels like snarking back, and every bit of frustration at the lot the world gave them, at absent parents and being forced into leadership they never wanted, at watching their little brothers bleed because they didn't take or deflect the blow themselves-every bit of that helpless anger is taken out on each other.

Donnie only made the joke about 'mom and dad fighting' once, Raph lost it and Leo put him in the medbay. Raph repaid the favor. All they ever do is feel awful and hurt all over.

Until one's voice cracks. The other herds him into the kitchen, calls him a dumbass, gets the bandages. Maybe some water, but water is being replaced by tea more and more often.

They actually talk, in a calm voice.

The next day, they still fight. It's subdued the first time. And then they're bored, and frustrated, and they forget to be better. They love each other, and it hurts, and they don't know what to do.

One prods, the other trips, and they're screaming and hissing and holding back tears again.

They fall asleep on the couch after tea that night. Wake up for a few moments on the floor, cling tighter, back to sleep. They're stuck together with dry blood in the morning, Leo was too tired to bandage anything properly.

They start drinking together, and everything gets so much worse, arguing every moment they're awake, breaking furniture and yelling at the top of their lungs. They get high together, on purpose or after Donnie put something in their tea, they honestly have no idea.

And it's quiet. Sans quiet giggling and whispering, like they're ten and know how to be some semblance of kind again, even if none of it's on purpose.

It's quiet in the morning, night comes and brings old music, stifled laughter, sighs after your body gives up on a task or standing or arguing just a bit for fun or giggling.

They didn't need bandages, they wake up stuck together again. Leo can't think about it or he'll vomit, stuffing gummies into Raph's mouth before he realizes, furiously scrubbing at himself until Raph takes over and his hands are so big and gentle and leo's falling back into him, it's warm and soft and velvet and safe and they'll be okay, like how Donnie and Mikey are okay, also high, stifling giggles and sighs, making a mess of each other, joking about their older brothers joining in.

Raph sobs like he did the night before as he adjusts around Leo, waiting for his body to be good and give like it's supposed to. Leo tries very hard not to mock him, or coo at him, losing the battle and doing both, shoving in before Raph can swipe at him.

This process repeats until Raph cannot possibly deny how much he likes being looked at and touched like he's pretty. Leo's starting to mutter about turning Raph into a mommy, because he knows raph likes it, he knows Raph would die to have more babies to dote on.

(One of their little brothers is already pregnant, has no idea, and is squealing happily as he dances with his favorite person.)

Everytime I watch tmnt 2007 I just get bitter exs but still have feelings about each other from Leo and Raph. Their just too stubborn to talk about it like normal people. Or really fight about it like normal people cause honestly the whole movie they were doing the passive aggressive mean comments type fighting till it all exploded. Leo and Raph are the type of couple who bicker/flirt all the time but make up quick. The only time is when they have serious fights and than it's either silence or passive-aggressive fights, till they explode.

Well, I can't say much about this topic since to me it's not healthy, good and balanced relationship if you argue with your partner (a lot / constantly) and say / keep that as normal. Or bicker constantly. None of that is healthy, good or balanced. You or the partner don't respect one another either when and if this happens.

Little arguments are normal, sure, but anything above that and often... No. So to me Raph's and Leo's relationship is deeper and better than "normal relationship where they argue and fight constantly". They have their argues, yes, but it's because they both are so similar to each other. They both try to be a boss, other tries to control another (which is not healthy) and other fights back (too often and too hard and over little things at times). Both bottle thoughts and feelings (anger) inside until it explodes and that leads to more harsh arguments / fights.

What I think is that that they both should learn to relax and LISTEN to each other without letting their emotions getting in the way / control them. Sit, relax, talk, listen, accept, understand, compromise, keep your partner equal to yourself etc. With that any relationship would go far, stay happy and balanced too.

Alternative Universe

So, yeah. I've been waiting for this prompt for weeks...

When I thought about, what universe could be an alternative to mine, I thought of if Ana was still human, and Leo was half-Kraang.

Then I realized "oh, it's @rufwooff "Never part again" au". So we talked, and, yeah, with their permission I came with an idea (a li-i-ittle inspired by Violet Evergarden, yes) for a comic and we drew it together in collaboration.
