Pink is not Robin's color. She wouldn't wear it in a million years. She only wore it once because she had to. She was so uncomfortable in Nancy's clothes. . . but I like that she likes it on other people like Vickie. She wears makeup, but she definitely wears more masculine clothing. I have a feeling that I've already posted about it before, but I loved how Maya Hawke showed us how uncomfortable Robin was, that it wasn't who she was and Robin decided to say screw it. She was going to do it her way. Nancy was probably all giddy on the inside that the prospect of making a new best friend. I hope we see more of that friendship in season five. Although, I can see Nancy pulling away because she thinks she's cursed. She's already lost TWO friends, so if we don't see more of them, it would be disappointing for sure but understandable. I hope Nancy manages to push past that, though. How did I get here again? I could have sworn I was just making a post about how I love the way Robin dresses.

Wonder Woman is a character I really like. I'm not even female, so I suppose I don't have the same experiences as some of the people who like her. But William Moulton Marston was a man. And he made her stories very good, with good themes for all. Themes of female empowerment, but also of mythology and space and peace (I still like how I heard he had most of wonder woman's villians get redemption). And one of her villains was a short man with a hatred of women (seriously, doctor psycho is weird but a clever premise).

I really should've read more of his stories, but I always get distracted. Either way, the concepts intrigue me. Like having the planets named after the roman gods actually have people on them tied to their gods. Like having the Martians worship Mars. I love that, and I want it to be more common. Give me a roman inspired martian manhunter. It'd be an interesting new take on things.

oh this is such a fun question!

honestly, i LOVE the way suzanne names her characters- especially the capitol’s tendency to go for roman names. i think the capitol’s roman names vs the districts industry-related names really drives home the divide between the two.

(i wish i was one of those very smart fans who could connect the use use of roman names and culture to the capitol and come up with brilliant ideas but alas. i am not.)

and honestly, i’ve seen some people hate how on the nose some of the district names are but i actually enjoy it a lot. i love the names like hy and sol and teslee and mizzen.

my only real complaint is that i would have loved to see district 12 characters have more industry inspired names! i like katniss and peeta well-enough but as someone from appalachia, i think something more on the nose for them as well could have been interesting.

or, alternatively, it would have been interesting to see historically common last names of the area being used rather than names like ‘everdeen’ or ‘mellark’. (but that’s probably just me, and tbf i guess a name like katniss smith wouldn’t sound very good for a dystopian novel.)

I genuinely cringe SO hard when I see that 16personalities “-A” and “-T” shit. (It’s not even mbti) Like it is a genuine pet peeve. I’m beginning to feel that way about enneagram wings, too, but eh, I feel like wings have more merit. 16p just slapped on a big5 trait onto their glorified big5 test, so now people who don’t know about functions think that the difference between an ENTJ-T and an ENTP-T is one letter. It’s actually, like, A LOT. ENTJ’s use the cognitive functions Te, Ni, Se and Fi. ENTP’s use the cognitive functions Ne, Ti, Fe and Si. Very different. And, like, I don’t wanna go into these people inboxes like “erm ackshully, this this and this” because A) they probably don’t care, and that’s fine. B) they might find it rude, for whatever reason. People don’t like being corrected… I don’t think. C) Ignorantly people who double down just aggravate me more.

It’s not that I don’t see any merit in letter typing. I see where it’s coming from, I just can’t stand 16p, specifically.

Probably Mobei, tbh. Even if they stop hiding that they are courting much earlier, I don't think they would commit to the wedding until Mobei-jun is the king. And him taking his first (and most likely only) spouse is going to be a huge event for the entire demon realm, them tagging a human-compatible second party onto the proceedings (that nonetheless will make everyone, even Huan Hua Palace green with envy) won't even show up as a meaningful expense on the event budget, because Mobei is just That Important to the north

The way I came up with Mobei's mom for this story started with trying to figure out how Mobei can be number 2 epic OP mofo (author's favorite blorbo edition) while not directly threatening Binghe (Bingge) in their usual setting. Other than, you know, being the loyal sort who wouldn't attack Binghe unless Binghe attacked him first, thus betraying the agreement between them. In some of my original stories, I have something I call 'conditional divinity', where something can have god-like powers, but only under certain circumstances. In this case, Mobei's mom is a primordial god, but only when she's in her natural environment in the Endless Abyss. Her leaving the depth of the Abyss and living on a decidedly more material and stable plane puts her roughly in the same category of being as a heavenly demon, because she had to be significantly diminished to make it work.

So Mobei can be considered a very similar kind of being to Binghe, with the caveat that his power is a lot more tied up in the Abyss. If they fight in the demon or human realm, Binghe wins because he doesn't have a condition on his power. If they fought in the Abyss or near a suitably large abyssal vent, then Mobei would win - but Binghe will never go back to the Abyss of his own volition and with Xin Mo in hand he can't be kept in there even if someone were to throw him in, so...

Twentysomeodd years later and in an entirely different dimension, Ghost still can't escape the Good Genes arc.

Fun fact about me; Adventures in Turtle Sitting came out when I was 10 and I went selectively mute for an entire week while I waited for the first episode of Good Genes to air I was so upset. I wrote on a whiteboard and told my teachers I had a sore throat. I think they just thought I was Going Through It little did they know it was because of ninja turtles.

Also it has been really funny watching people comment on GitS and being able to tell who's watched '03 and who hasn't. 'Cause I KNEW '03 people would instantly know what's going on and Rise people wouldn't and I LOVE seeing those differences that those two perspectives make.

Like honestly I think you can read GitS without watching '03. You'll just be in the same mindset as the kids, not knowing anything. Whereas if you've seen '03, GitS is like if you knew the future. You all know where this is going. You know what happens when Ghost turns 45.

Boa: Because, unlike some heartless bastards I know, I am a normal human and I have feelings. I needed to discuss them with someone. You just happened to be the less disagreeable and nearest someone available.

Mihawk: Lucky me. But I am one of those heartless bastards, so why are you asking me for something as preposterous as sentimental advice?

Three, my advice if you really want it is to put those feelings of yours under lock and key in a little box in your brain and then signal to your immune system the need to dispose of it soon. I guarantee that it works.

Crocodile: You have a part of your immune system which is specifically designed to remove feelings from your body at will?

Mihawk: I do.

Crocodile: That explains so much.

Mihawk: I was not implying anything, I was stating it. And then, if you knew you wouldn't want to hear my answer, why did you ask me?

my 80-something conservative-ish rural white grandpa only has like 5 tv channels and one is fox news. during the early pandemic lockdown, he didnt get radicalized by fox news, he’s actually disgusted by their covid denial and anti-vax promo. i can only imagine its bc my dad (his son) is a more trusted source to him than fox.

jaeho is hands down my favorite muse. the guy is just so easy to write and requires no thinking on my part because he???? doesn't think so much either????? i have a particular writing style with him that sometimes tries and blends itself with my other muses, which makes me struggle A LOT because i have to remind myself that the sarcastic and dry inner monologues he has will not work when writing, say huifen or seungheon. he's also really adaptable when it comes to any scenario, so i can just literally throw him anywhere and he'll thrive. plus, he literally just started off as a janitor and everything else (background, habits, thought process) kinda came and piled on naturally. he basically writes himself????

When it comes to worldbuilding, what are some ideas you’d like to explore in rp?

this is probably gonna make me sound like a terrible writer, but the reason i'm in rp is because i didn't really wanna world build?? i kinda just had ideas for characters and throw them in and had them follow whatever setting of my partners. (as you can tell, i hate thinking sdfskjfsdjf)

but lately, i have been working (on and off) on a multi oc blog that is "supposed" to be heavily crime-based and things like that. (i say "supposed" because i don't like setting things in stone and knowing me, it could turn into anything.) kinda inspired by bungo stray dogs, hakata tonkotsu ramens, etc. and with that, letting me write those types of plots (i.e. assassination, drug heist gone wrong, escaping prison, etc). really just exploring all those themes in general because i definitely usually go for crack-oriented muses with a few normal ones here and there, so definitely a challenge from my usual style!

better yet: let's explore jaeho finally getting what he deserves!

It makes some sense I don't like batman, I guess. He was inspired by the pulp heroes of the 30s like The Shadow, and those characters sound awful too. I just went on a binge reading spree on wikipedia about them, and perhaps the only pulp hero i liked was Zorro. The Shadow seems like a boring and generic "master of disguise" detective type. The Spider was a rip-off of The Shadow who apparently regularly killed thousands, all in the name of saving the day. Doc Savage has all the eugenics of something like Captain America's origin, but none of the redeeming qualities. Because Doc Savage also gives criminals memory wipes and lobotomies.

So... Christ. The pulp magazines were full of darkness, violence and eugencics. No wonder batman sucks, with influences like those. At least Zorro defended the poor? He seems like the only good thing to come out of these pulp magazines. But i don't like anything else i saw as i read. So... I think we should leave the pulp characters in the scrap heap of history. There's nothing to salvage from them.
