Pink is not Robin's color. She wouldn't wear it in a million years. She only wore it once because she had to. She was so uncomfortable in Nancy's clothes. . . but I like that she likes it on other people like Vickie. She wears makeup, but she definitely wears more masculine clothing. I have a feeling that I've already posted about it before, but I loved how Maya Hawke showed us how uncomfortable Robin was, that it wasn't who she was and Robin decided to say screw it. She was going to do it her way. Nancy was probably all giddy on the inside that the prospect of making a new best friend. I hope we see more of that friendship in season five. Although, I can see Nancy pulling away because she thinks she's cursed. She's already lost TWO friends, so if we don't see more of them, it would be disappointing for sure but understandable. I hope Nancy manages to push past that, though. How did I get here again? I could have sworn I was just making a post about how I love the way Robin dresses.

Wonder Woman is a character I really like. I'm not even female, so I suppose I don't have the same experiences as some of the people who like her. But William Moulton Marston was a man. And he made her stories very good, with good themes for all. Themes of female empowerment, but also of mythology and space and peace (I still like how I heard he had most of wonder woman's villians get redemption). And one of her villains was a short man with a hatred of women (seriously, doctor psycho is weird but a clever premise).

I really should've read more of his stories, but I always get distracted. Either way, the concepts intrigue me. Like having the planets named after the roman gods actually have people on them tied to their gods. Like having the Martians worship Mars. I love that, and I want it to be more common. Give me a roman inspired martian manhunter. It'd be an interesting new take on things.

oh this is such a fun question!

honestly, i LOVE the way suzanne names her characters- especially the capitol’s tendency to go for roman names. i think the capitol’s roman names vs the districts industry-related names really drives home the divide between the two.

(i wish i was one of those very smart fans who could connect the use use of roman names and culture to the capitol and come up with brilliant ideas but alas. i am not.)

and honestly, i’ve seen some people hate how on the nose some of the district names are but i actually enjoy it a lot. i love the names like hy and sol and teslee and mizzen.

my only real complaint is that i would have loved to see district 12 characters have more industry inspired names! i like katniss and peeta well-enough but as someone from appalachia, i think something more on the nose for them as well could have been interesting.

or, alternatively, it would have been interesting to see historically common last names of the area being used rather than names like ‘everdeen’ or ‘mellark’. (but that’s probably just me, and tbf i guess a name like katniss smith wouldn’t sound very good for a dystopian novel.)

Crocodile: You'll never be drunk enough to talk about feelings. You are allergic to the full spectrum of human emotions.

Mihawk: Then why are you two forcing me to take part to this conversation?

Crocodile: Because I don't want to suffer alone when I'm being subjected to the list of the many astounding qualities of the Strawhat brat of all peopl–

Boa: Because, unlike some heartless bastards I know, I am a normal human and I have feelings. I needed to discuss them with someone. You just happened to be the less disagreeable and nearest someone available.

Mihawk: Lucky me. But I am one of those heartless bastards, so why are you asking me for something as preposterous as sentimental advice?

Mihawk: One, I knew the other Strawhat, not this brat. This one I met just once when I almost killed his fresh-faced first mate in a duel. It's not the same. Two, I don't know nor want to know anything about his love life/lack thereof. From what I saw this brat has space in that cranial box of his only for food and adventures, not for romance or women. Three, my advice if you really want it is to put those feelings of yours under lock and key in a little box in your brain and then signal to your immune system the need to dispose of it soon. I guarantee that it works.

Crocodile: You have a part of your immune system which is specifically designed to remove feelings from your body at will?

Mihawk: I do.

saw a post on here about making friends as an adult and i feel conflicted cuz like, overall i agree that all you have to do is get the courage to show up and get the ball rolling by talking to people/getting their numbers even if it feels cringe or 'wrong' to do so however i can't help but raise my eyebrow at the 'act like they're already your friend' part because some people lean way to into that to the point where they forget we're not actually friends yet which inevitably leads to them saying/doing something that's pretty out of line so like. yes put yourself out there, talk to them and get to know them but please remember that people need to actually like, warm up to each other which could take weeks of speaking to them regularly at minimum

Tim Drake’s Worst Nightmare: Ra’s al Ghul’s Matchmaking Skills

It started with a mission.

Tim hadn’t expected to be sent after a new ghost anomaly, much less one that was human-shaped and strangely familiar. But when he found himself face-to-face with Danny—a teenager who radiated Lazarus energy like it was his second skin—things got weird. Fast.

Cue the League of Assassins bursting onto the scene, followed by a dramatic entrance from none other than Ra’s al Ghul himself.

And that’s when Tim learned the big, world-shattering truth: Danny was Ra’s al Ghul’s son. Not adopted. Biological.

“You’ve got to be kidding me.”

Tim stood, slack-jawed, watching Ra’s beam with the kind of pride usually reserved for conquering cities. Danny, standing awkwardly next to him, scratched the back of his neck.

“Yeah, so, uh… surprise?” Danny offered.

Ra’s spread his arms wide. “Timothy! This is a joyous day. My son, Daniel, has found you at last.”

Tim blinked. “Found me?”

Danny shuffled nervously. “Uh, yeah. You’re kind of… important to the family now.”

Tim’s brain short-circuited.

The Heir Situation

Because here’s the kicker: Ra’s had been trying to get Tim to join the League for years. He saw Tim as a potential heir. But now, with Danny in the picture, Ra’s had an even better idea.

“Through Daniel,” Ra’s explained, practically glowing, “I can finally bring you into the family as I always intended.”

Tim pinched the bridge of his nose. “I am not marrying into the League of Assassins.”

Danny choked. “Wait, what?!”

Ra’s nodded sagely. “I see you are both shy about it. No matter! Destiny has a way of unfolding as it should.”

Tim and Danny exchanged horrified glances.

Danny and Tim’s Relationship

Despite the chaos, Danny and Tim clicked. Danny was chaotic but genuine, a refreshing contrast to the constant stress of Gotham. And Tim? Tim was the most grounded person Danny had ever met.

“You know, you don’t have to listen to Ra’s,” Tim pointed out after one particularly tense League encounter.

Danny shrugged. “Yeah, but if I don’t humor him, he gets pouty.”

Tim snorted. “Ra’s al Ghul? Pouty?”

“You have no idea.”

The Batfamily’s Reaction

When Tim brought Danny back to Gotham, the batfam had questions.

Bruce: “He’s… Ra’s’ son?”

Tim: “Yep.”

Jason: “And you’re… what, his fiancé now?”

Tim: screaming internally

Danny: “I’M RIGHT HERE.”

Damian, eyes wide: “Uncle?”

Danny grinned. “Hey, kiddo.”

Damian, flustered: “I—no. This cannot be.”

Ra’s Is Thrilled

Back in Nanda Parbat, Ra’s couldn’t be happier. Every time Tim showed up, Ra’s looked like Christmas came early.

Ra’s: “Timothy, you and Daniel are a perfect match.”

Tim: “In what universe?”

Danny: “Technically, several.”

Danny Was Happy.

That was the problem.

Tim might hate making Ra’s happy, but… Danny was different.

Danny liked being part of the League. He liked the structure, the weird family dynamic. He liked the purpose. And he was thriving.

Tim couldn’t ruin that.

Tim didn’t want to make Ra’s happy—he’d rather swallow glass—but he did want to make Danny happy.

And if that meant putting up with Ra’s al Ghul’s matchmaking schemes, well…

Tim gritted his teeth and endured.

So because I was drawing Reno and Ceres earlier when I was waiting at my dentist appointment (I meant to post what I had drawn but I’m too lazy to now), I decided to just look at theirs and Menos’ sprites to compare their designs and similarities

And while I don’t know how clear I’ve made the spoilers of this game, this technically would count as major endgame spoilers (and mid game for Reno technically), so I’ll just put the rest under the cut to be safe

Okay first off, I just want to question why Menos’ sprite is so small, at least relative to his proportions. Like, it’s very noticeable in the sprite sheet I have. I’d say it’s because he’s because a bigger character, but other big characters like Lothair and Dalkin have sprites that don’t look shrunken, why does Menos? I don’t know, it just bugs me

Anyways, back to the actual topic, yeah no, Menos shares very little design details in common with his kids

I actually went and also did a thing with both similarities and differences on a OneNote page, and the differences between them far outweigh the similarities, especially with Reno, who really only has a bit of his hair and the scowl

Maybe if Menos and/or Ceres were to ever undo their ponytails, there’d be a bit more similarity? Like, Menos’ hair puffs up to look all spiky like Reno when he takes it out. I don’t know

Also, I had another conclusion based on this little experiment (but I thought the other conclusion was funnier)

Because like honest to god, Ceres really does have more similarities to her dad than Reno does. On my OneNote page, Ceres comes in with about 5 similarities I could find, while Reno only has around 2-3 similarities (the - is due to the fact that I don’t know if Reno having somewhat of an angular head counts or not. It’s more similar than Ceres, but it’s not what Menos’ head looks like and is more rounded). And quite honestly, I don’t know how much the scowl counts either. I feel like if you were to ask someone which of these two is Menos’ kid (while providing the context of additional family members like Arthus and Velvet for Ceres), they’d be more likely to say Ceres

Though granted, some of those similarities do have to do with the fact that Ceres is a half Demon, while Menos and Reno are both full, so Demon traits would have to come from Menos and those things wouldn’t apply with Reno, but she does still look more similar

And I have to ask, why is that? Why does it feel easier to tell that the character that we aren’t supposed to know the parentage of until the very end is Menos’ child than the character whom, at least when first named, we are explicitly told is his child?

I feel like the reasons Reno look so different boil down to A: they wanted to keep the twist for mid game and not make it super obvious from the get go, and B: Reno was designed to look like what he default Demon looks like, considering that his design has so many of the typical Demon traits (though he still looks distinct in his own right)

I mean I can definitely see where the designers would be coming from with the second option, considering he, Cherry and Plum would be the first Demons you ever meet, and some of the only. However, despite the limited amount of Demons, we actually do see other, standard looking Demons when we visit the Demon Camp, so the point kind of falls flat

Also, Reno’s Past design, the one we first see when he’s named and told to be Menos’ son, already looks incredibly similar to the Present design, so if you didn’t forget the Present Demons (which I think you are supposed to, since a lot more happens in between these two meetings, enough to forget, but maybe that’s just justification for me because I always forget by that point in the story), you’ve likely already figured out the twist. So like, why not just have Reno look more like his dad? It’s another couple hours before we see him again anyways

I don’t necessarily need him to look like a mini Menos clone (though the immediate image of that in my head is funny to me), but give him at least something, right? Like, the eyebrows maybe at least?

I feel like Menos actually has this down with his own dad, where they noticeably share similarities but are still pretty distinct from one another

You could also maybe apply this to Ceres, she also doesn’t look much like her dad, but I can at least justify it by her being a hybrid, the fact that we aren’t supposed to know her heritage until literally the ending scene, the fact that she is being carried by (presumably) recessive genes color wise, and probably also the fact that they’re different genders. Reno has less excuses

I mean, I guess none of this really matters, but it’s just like, you keep taking this man away from his kids, can they at least have some of his looks?

Maybe I should try redesigning them with that in mind, but that’s a thing for later
