it begins with a flashback to the end of 77. the opening is still the same (the ads are fucking rush links and megaroad 2 now omg)

chupa rolls up to yuuhi and yuudias about meeeg yuudias idk.

taizaki has the meeg costume and damamu just spawns in ig? damamu duels chupa. damamu plays triple tama and summons bluetooth. he fusions them together to get tamaburst and oneshots chupa. the duel was 88 turns long

now everything goes wrong because everyone's a tad different. look here:

MOST OF THE EPISODE WAS A REPEAT OF THE SAME STUFF SHOWN IN THE SAME EPISODE, WITH THE CHARACTERS NARRATING THE ODDITIES OF EVERYONE PRESENT.

So I saw a post earlier, and it was saying something about how tumblr alters your way of speaking and my memory decides to be absolutely GOLDEN for once in its sad puny life, and I remembered the one time we were discussing philosophical concepts in the LGBTQ+ server.

I asked what everyone’s religions were to get a better idea of where some of their opinions and beliefs were coming from and someone was being needlessly pretentious about it and going off about how there are so many different types of Christianity and how they weren’t Christian but they were, and honestly I was getting pretty sick of it. I understand tryna explain your beliefs, but not being able to in a simple way, but this person was straight up being obnoxious.

I asked them multiple times to explain their beliefs to me as if I knew nothing about it, to just dumb it down, keep it simple, but they kept dropping freaking paragraphs of absolute rubbish. It’s like they were saying so many words, but in the end they all amounted to jack diddly squat.

So I got sick of it and just said “Ah so you don’t subscribe to any one religion, but you try the taster trials for multiple.” I was tryna be as pretentious as them, so that hopefully when they saw how much of a prick it made me sound like, they would just give up the ghost and finally say what their beliefs were. Someone else in the server though, commented about how “subscribe to any one religion” was such a fun way to say it, and I’m 78% sure I got it off of tumblr.

At least we finally got past the whole production over what the flip this randos beliefs were, although they did try to bring the topic back a few times, but we had well and truly moved on. Like, we had been discussing everyone’s religions and beliefs for a solid hour, they had time to disclose theirs and they didn’t, so tough luck. It was especially irritating because this wasn’t just a once of act of being hoity toity. This person was a repeat offender. Any topic, and they’d find a way to twist it to some far off concept, with big ass words that they barely understood.

All in all, they were very difficult to casually converse with (heheh alliteration) but hopefully it was just difficulty conveying things online, because if they turn out to be this obnoxious in person I think I might cry.

Again the images are unfortunately small, but here are some fun facts from the Titan AE trading cards (courtesy of the Trading Card Database).

Points of interest (to me anyway):

Gune's "species unknown, but rumors persist that he is self-created." That's SO powerful and ridiculous by itself XD but it also explains why the novel makes a point of both Cale and Akima describing him as "unlike any other alien they've ever seen" and being totally fascinated by him. (The movie end credits, meanwhile, call him a "Grepoan.")

Another interesting point on Gune's card that The Valkyrie is referred to as one of the last remaining Earth-built ships. The novel also says it was human-built, and says it was formerly a luxury space yacht that had been heavily modified by previous possibly-space-pirate owners.

Preed's card stating that he and Korso met while both recovering from laser gun wounds in a "back alley hospital" "and the two joined forces, hoping that each had found a trustworthy comrade in a galaxy without much loyalty." I'm LOSING IT imagining these two getting less-than-legal surgery for suspicious wounds in some rando's basement and thinking "Ah, this seems like a guy I can trust!"

Stith's card agrees with the novel that her species is "Mantrin" while the movie end credits call her a "Sogowan." I think I read a wiki entry somewhere claiming she was from the planet "Sogowa," hence "Sogowan," but on the card it names "Solbrecht" as her home.

Also, "Stith's mission: to protect and serve, but only when she's in the mood." Love it
