Y'all ever have dreams where you are watching a non-existent made-up youtuber doing a 2 hour angry video essay about how a non-existent made-up horror video game with anthropomorphic chibi animals sucks?

Why remaking bad games would be cool as heck
I'm sure this has been said before but this is just my own version
I'm sure most people are familiar with the remaking/remastering of old games trend. Such is done to bring an older game to a new console and audience while also making a bunch of money off a well loved title. Results vary as some games bring new life to a franchise while others don't live up to the hype of the original or are basically the same game with better graphics but double the price.
Now comes the idea of remaking or remastering a more badly received game. Such a concept has many benefits:
Improving it's flaws - remasters (sometimes remakes) allow for the improving of certain mechanics and no game needs that more than a bad one. Remaking a bad game also allows it to actually be playable and may make for something fun
Giving life to lost potential - a lot of hated or bad games still have a fair few fans as these games had a lot of potential and maybe even a pretty interesting story but fell short. Remaking it allows for the game to become as many wish it had been and allows its fans to finally be proud of liking the game
Only way to go is up - it's already a bad game, you really can't make it much worse (hopefully)
Stand out from the crowd - everyone is remaking the popular games. Remaking/remastering a bad game is bound to get attention which is just what something like this needs in order to show game companies that this is what the people want
It would just be kinda cool ya know
I'm sure a concern for most games companies would be money and that no-one wants a remake of something everyone hates but I disagree. A lot more people may want a remake of a flawed titled rather than the one everyone worships like it ended the plague. Plus, if its already part of a franchise then people will buy it anyways, regardless of how good it is. Win win situation here devs

a cheap quality plain burger from sonic is $6 and the people working there can’t make rent.
the pork sandwich from the growing local chain tastes like ash, costs $20 a plate, and leaves you feeling ripped off.
the small local stores open at noon and close at 5 so you can never go.
the farmers market is mostly “artisans” selling art you don’t understand, earrings made of glued together bows, tshirts that used to be printed correctly but you can tell are under cured, bread, honey, honey, bread, honey, $6 lemonade, grocery store quality vegetables, bagels, $27 for one whole chicken raised with regenerative agriculture, crocheted and sewed hats. it feels surreal to walk through.
you mash a bagel from the bagel stand with beef from the small butcher shop, it costs a total of $18 total and its probably the only decent sandwich you’ve had in this town in years and even then you had to split it with your husband to afford it. thinking about $9 for half a bagel is saddening.
everything on facebook marketplace is full price for used items. no one haggles or accepts lower prices.
but you still smile, you still laugh with strangers. you still offer kindness and patience. you still go to shows despite being disappointed in the crowds behavior. you hit your shirts with a heat gun so they’re at least cured correctly and last longer. you still take apart your vacuum cleaner to fix the problem.
but you still bake at home because you can’t afford otherwise, and you let it bring you joy. you make a better pork sandwich than you’ve had in years and you cry a little knowing how little work it took you, so why can’t the places you want to go do it? the thought makes you sick.
but you still try, and work, and plan to move onto family land because it seems that’ll be the only way you can live your life and have any amount of disposable income. you still smile and laugh and be kind.
being kind is all you can do, it’s all that you have the energy for.

so fucking sad how men hate women and how they’ve made women hate themselves. the average woman has like a thousand insecurities about her appearance. and they’re things that are so natural, things that the majority of adult women have. it’s body hair and some wrinkles and “cellulite” and it’s belly fat and armpit fat and “hip dips” and it’s their labia minora (!) and who knows what else. like can we all take a break for a moment and realize this is just what women look like. if you just take a look at other women in real life you’ll realize you’re literally so normal. and you’re beautiful!!
and, every time you speak negatively about yourself it affects the women around you.you shouldn’t walk around pointing out every little thing you’d change about yourself if you could. right next to you is a woman who has that same trait, and even if she doesn’t, it creates this norm where it’s expected for women to dislike how they look. to be extremely critical of their appearance. personally i don’t want that around me.
obviously we should be able to talk about our insecurities but there’s a way to do that without speaking as if it’s a given fact that your [insert insecurity here] is ugly.
i don’t hate how i look and it’s almost radical to say that at this point. i don’t think i’m the hottest woman alive either. i don’t think in those terms about myself. men basically just strive to take a shower, comb their hair and look fresh. that’s my outlook as well.

binged a bunch of random champion themes, most significant songs are ranted about here :)
hwei’s theme is very very emotive and i adore it. because i’m biased that way. though i don’t know if i can really connect the swell of the music to the character? it’s all very ethereal though and i like the beginning/end (7/10)
jhin’s theme i love love love. if i’m correct, then his LOADING THE GUN is part of the beat for the beginning part, and then there’s the beat drop and the gun fires. i just relisten to that part over and over and it’s glorious. only crit is it would be lovely if that sound of loading the gun happened one more time at the end, to imply the beginning of another cycle (9.5/10)
aphelio’s theme is perfect i take no criticism it is beautiful please and THANK YOU. the absolute perfection whenever “you are never alone” is sung is ARGH (10/10)
diana’s theme is really interesting, the vocals are gorgeous but i can’t help but wonder if the “sun” that’s being referred to is leona. if it is i’m going to be very sad :( (7.5/10)
kindred’s theme is great. light piano + deep undertone makes for a great reflection of lamb + wolf and the overall tone is both eerie and elegant (8/10)
tahm kench’s first half is really really nice, i like the overall tune and the little influences, and him humming along is a touch that i really like. idk how i feel about the second half (swamp sounds lmao) though. (8.5/10 for the first half, 5.5/10 second)
ksante’s theme is absolutely. amazing. the vocals are astounding, the vibes are immaculate, and i feel like i’m standing in nazumah with my heart beating to the drums it’s seriously that good (10/10)
kayn’s theme is kind of nice? i like the oppressive air about it so i guess yay? i prefer aatrox’s though (6/10)

do you also feel like you're new all over again when you shower? like you're some kind of newborn. buy you aren't, obviously, because you're the same person you were fifteen minutes ago and you still know the same things and you'll never not be you but sometimes for me it's like the water makes me feel human all over again. it's washed away everything i've said and done and thought between the moment it touches me and the last time i showered. lets me start anew. i'm clean all over again and i just need to survive between now and the next time.

I think, too, that something to do with it is our own power relative to the situation. You hear your friend’s having a bad day? You can cheer them up somehow. You hear the widow in your village has taken ill? You can drop off a meal or make her some tea. You still got bad news, but it was small and local enough that you could do something about it. These days everything is a catastrophe and the best we can do about it is idk. Reblog to spread awareness. Donate $4.75 to the cause. But what is that really doing? We don’t get to know. People are suffering in every country all the time and we just have to Know That and carry on with our 9-5 jobs and doomscrolling
I don’t know how to say this in a way that doesn’t come across as incredibly out of touch and privileged but I don’t think the human brain was meant to receive so much bad news. The spread of news has always been limited by what can reach you and for thousands of years that usually meant the happenings in your village and maybe the surrounding villages. A few times a year you might receive word about the goings on in cities, maybe even distant lands. Occasionally war would break out which would increase bad news but, even then, unless the fighting was in your area, the news about the war would be a trickle—still devastating, but not as aggressive a bombardment. Now, with the invention of newspapers, wire communication, radio, television, internet, social media, click bait, traffic-driven ad revenue you receive every bit of bad news, from everywhere, all the time. We no longer live in a world where our bad news is local, mostly manageable, and only occasionally intensified. There is only bad news. I don’t think we were built for it.

the vast majority of fanworks are bad, and that's fine, actually. they are bad for the same reason that the average number of legs for a human person to have is less than two: statistics. like with all endeavours and especially creative ones, most people who write fanfiction or draw art of their favourite characters are bad at it. if you line up all the crochet projects in the world, most of them will be, well, bad. some are bad because they're the first thing a person ever made, or the second or third or tenth, and this kind of thing takes practice. others are bad because the person who made them is just not very good at it. maybe they just learned how to make granny squares and they're perfectly happy to never expand or improve on that. most people who dance or bake or garden or braid hair are not amazing at it! and you'd never go to your kid's dance recital or eat your friend's homemade carrot cake and expect the same experience as you'd have at a professional ballet performance or award-winning bakery. And that's if we assume there is an objective measure of Good Art, which there isn't! Some art is just "bad" because you don't like it!
I think though that specifically with fanfiction, we sometimes forget that when we read a book or watch a movie, dozens of people have looked at it and given feedback and made changes and done quality control before the final product reaches our shelves or screens, and that's not counting the original writer's learning process and past experience. A published book is not anyone's first crochet project, even if it is their debut novel. But with fanfiction, the barrier to entry is so low (on purpose! this is a good thing!) that we do get to see a lot of wonky granny squares, and on sites like AO3 they're sitting on the same shelf as the hand-made silk lace wedding dress and you can't always tell just by looking at it which is which. The consequence of this is that we encounter fic that we think is unpolished, has bad punctuation, is out of character, and we are tempted to think "well, this is awful! how dare this person put this wonky granny square on the same shelf as the lace wedding dress!" But that's not how fandom is supposed to work! That wonky granny square is somebody who is really excited about this TV show they just watched and they are reaching out into the void to share their excitement with you. To scoff at them for not making a lace wedding dress is really, really rude. Even if they did make a lace wedding dress, maybe it's just really not your style, or you think they should have used a different pattern, and it's still their wedding dress. You don't have to wear the dress and you don't have to read the fic.
We all know that there is some fanfic out there that is incredible. I think it's important to talk about that! But the vast majority of people who post their writing online are just sharing their little hobby projects that they make for fun and I also think it's important to remember that.

for anyone too young to know this: watching The Truman Show is a vastly different experience now, compared to how it was before youtube and social media influencers became normal
before it was like, "what a horrifying thing to do to a human being! to take away their autonomy and privacy, all for the sake of profits! to create fake scenarios for them to react to, just to retain viewership! to ruin their happiness just so some corporate entity could harvest money from their very humanity! how could anyone do something so evil?"
and now it's like, "ah, yeah. this is still deeply fucked up, but it's pretty much what every influencer has been doing to their kids for a decade now. probably bad that we've normalized this experience"

i need someone to tell me that talking with like a ton of hand gestures is totally normal because my friends look at me like im bat shit crazy when i do it like is it not a normal thing? like it isn't my fault i cant properly express myself with tone and im using my hands to add to the tone of voice im using- this week has sucked i cant wait to go back to school to annoy the fuck out of my friends with my silly hand gestures while i explain my thoughts about nancy wheeler in a completely normal way (what am i on about) but one of my friends especially likes to go like "jeez joel calm down" like im not crazy thats just how i talk???
i just talk with my hands i cant really like control it and thats probably why i type so fast because i speak with my hands and like../j i promise- but i dont get why theyre so shocked by the fact that i can type somewhat quick without looking down at the keyboard like i can have a completely separate conversation with someone and look them in the eye while i type?? i didn't want to rant but thats just something i do i guess. but we were taught typing skills in elementary school and i dont understand how they dont know how to at least spell properly or type properly- not bashing anyone or anything but i swear im ahead of everyone i know and i hate it so much (im so sorry)

Kamala Harris does want "transgender surgery on illegal aliens that are in prison", btw.
So since Trumpists are getting mad enough about the jokes to actually cite their sources, I thought I'd put the source out into my left extremist commie faggot echo chamber, too.
The claim originates from an ACLU questionnaire she filled out for her 2020 presidential candidacy, specifically this section:
Tumblr media
She wasn't given a new questionnaire for 2024, and has stated that while her policy on some things may have changed, her values had not. (This most likely means she moved more to the center to appease larger demographics and cut corners to reach compromises. The basic politician stuff.)
It boils down to this: If you're in prison, whether for "illegal" immigration or other crimes, you rely on the state to provide you with necessary amenities, like food and health care. Her argument isn't "hell yeah everyone in prison should get sex changes for free". It's "gender affirming surgery is a necessary medical procedure. If you are in the states care while this becomes necessary, the state should provide it." If you're outraged by your tax money being used on this, consider the massive amount of people being incarcerated in for-profit prisons, on your dime. Then ask yourself if maybe a prison reform might be in order.
Worth noting: In 2015, while Attorney General, Kamala Harris actually argued against providing gender-affirming surgery to an incarcerated trans woman, claiming that HRT and psychotherapy were sufficiently covering her medical needs. She has since obviously changed her stance and assumed responsibility. (I would like to take this moment to remind my fellow left extremist commie faggots that "willingness to learn and rethink your views" is infinitely more valuable than "perfect from the start and unwilling to listen to anyone")
Also found in the source: This image of Kamala Harris participating in the 2019 San Francisco Pride Parade, wearing what I believe to be a sequin rainbow embroidered denim jacket.
Tumblr media
I encourage you to read the provided CNN article and the answers to the ACLU questionnaire, as they give great insight into her values.
TLDR: Based.
