Video Topics I'm Considering

Character analyses or videos about O.K. K.O. in general are a given at this point. That's going to be an ongoing series until I just can't think of any other discussion topics or feel like I've covered everything I want to (and it's gonna be a long time before I get anywhere close to that. I still feel like I'm just getting started).

This is more of a list of other cartoons, anime, and various topics I'm considering talking about at some point.

Top 10 Favorite Bob's Burgers Episodes

Bob's Burgers is my favorite adult cartoon or animated sitcom hands down. And I've watched through the entire series a few different times to the point I feel confident in making a top 10. There's already plenty of YouTubers making fantastic character and series analyses and I don't feel like I have anything interesting to add. But I want to talk about it anyway so I will.

Sims Retrospective

I was 11 when I first got into The Sims. This is one of my favorite evergreen topics and this would be an excuse to gush about one of my favorite games ever. I'd only be covering Sims 1 and 2, though. I avoid Sims 4 like the plague and I'm still getting reacquainted with Sims 3.

Is Reigen Arataka Sexy?

I have an older post/unfinished draft starting to scratch at the surface of this. The whole fandom debate over how fuckable Reigen is cracks me up and horribly fascinates me.

Hooty, the Best Example of An Annoying Comic Relief

Hooty is my favorite Owl House character. I have thoughts on him and how he fits the 'annoying character' archetype. This is the only idea I have related to The Owl House that I think would translate well to a video (or feel like I can give a unique take on, anyway). There's already videos and thorough discussions on everything else.

Something AleHeather Related

AleHeather is a well-known ship from the Total Drama series and....my no.1 OTP. Sarcastic Chorus already has a fantastic video talking about their in-show dynamic so I'd be covering this from a different angle. I'm not exactly sure what I'd be doing yet.

Something El Tigre Related

I've been debating giving El Tigre the same character analysis treatment I'm giving O.K. K.O. I freaking love this cartoon. It's easily one of my top 10 and I definitely want to revisit this one.

These are just topics I'm considering for my main channel. I'm gonna be particular about stuff that gets a time-intensive video essay.

I'm a lot more open to more contemporary topics like Digital Circus or whatever else for art time-lapse voiceovers. I want my other channel to be a lot looser and goofier!

for anyone too young to know this: watching The Truman Show is a vastly different experience now, compared to how it was before youtube and social media influencers became normal

before it was like, "what a horrifying thing to do to a human being! to take away their autonomy and privacy, all for the sake of profits! to create fake scenarios for them to react to, just to retain viewership! to ruin their happiness just so some corporate entity could harvest money from their very humanity! how could anyone do something so evil?"

and now it's like, "ah, yeah. this is still deeply fucked up, but it's pretty much what every influencer has been doing to their kids for a decade now. probably bad that we've normalized this experience"

every time i see nonhumans+ complaining about "tiktok therians", i get reminded of how "tumblrkin" used to be a derogatory term for those not taking their identity seriously and only doing it "for the aesthetic", or even earlier, in the early 2000s, how the weres/therians on the alt.horror.werewolves forum were complaining about the new community members not taking it seriously. XD

i suppose us complaining about the youth doing nonhumanity wrong is a tradition lol. Like of course kids aren't posting philosophical essays about nonhumanity, of course misinformation amongst them is rampant (especially considering the medium of tiktok), of course some of them aren't taking this very seriously or might "grow out of it". It's ok!!

Obviously, we should lend them a helping hand in clearing up misinformation and teaching them about the full variety and wonder of the nonhuman or alterhuman experience. But we shouldn't look down on them, and treat them as if they're bad somehow. As well as that, sometimes we should just accept the generational and platform based differences between us. It's ok. We've been through this before, and we'll be through this again when the next wave of newbies rolls around.

Today's technically the 1 year anniversary of the first ever NeXus video!

"PK, what's NeXus?" The very lovely audio roleplay channel made by the aforementioned/tagged Veau! It's got a wide collection of characters and funky storylines paired with sick ass art.

"Whoa, that's super cool! Where should I start?" If you want the very first video, you'd start here with Uriah. But I don't think you can go wrong with any of the character and/or storyline playlists!

dumb vent but god it sucks that there are so few good youtubers/video essayists who hold gender critical views from a left-wing perspective and/or radical feminist views. (unfortunately) long form video content such as video essays are the primary ways younger generations form their political/philosophical views (hence why often ideology "pipelines" are discussed on youtube) but there are so few radical feminists on the platform who aren't also right-wing conservatives, and the ones that do exist are obviously not popular enough to reach broader audiences and so won't have as much production value available to them.

I think quite often about how the most popular leftist youtubers are men...it's one of the biggest reasons I stopped watching video essays altogether. even now I actually struggle to name any women breadtubers who make genuine video essays with commentary more than how a tiktok trend is bad. (which, yes. all the tiktok trends are bad. but anyone could figure that out!!! I want more substance in my analysis please!!!! you'd think with how long the videos get they'd actually have more to say but man. I thought I had trouble being concise)

sometimes I think it wouldn't even be that difficult to take the "breadtube" video essay style and just mimic it, and if were a braver person I'd do it myself, but we all know how difficult it already is to be even slightly critical of gender ideology online as a woman !!

Hey uh Metaphor soldiers you might want to be looking out for this. This is a really big deal ( mostly just to me ) !!!

Archipel is hands-down my favorite documentary channel, and for good reason ! They have astounding quality in visuals and audio, and their interviews are fantastic with great tone and pacing. They're focused on japanese creators in a good range of creative fields, and they've covered Persona, Catherine, Hashino-san and Soejima-san before ! ( though for some reason i never even entertained the notion of them doing one on Metaphor, and I AM GOING INSANE YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW )

And best of all : their documentaries are available for free on youtube !! I highly recommend them, they're very inspiring !

The "and more" part has me really excited... It would be great for them to speak to Kazuma Koda ( from Nier ) and Ikuto Yamashita ( from Neon Genesis EVANGELION ) ! They could even get a cheeky comment from Yoko Taro ( who they've worked with before as well ! ) just for the sake of it !!

Ohhhhhhh it's gonna be so good !!! ^ normal feelings about a 10 to 40 minutes-long documentary that will not be released for many months yet to come
