Total Drama Level Up Chapter Ten Sneak Peak
Chapter ten is coming along nicely, and I hope to have it published by mid June. Here's a little taste of what's to come.
--
In the middle of the warehouse stood a modest two-story Victorian-style manor home, surrounded by a sparse forest of fake trees. The contestants took in the steep gable roofs and bay windows framed by decorative trim as Chris led them down a stone walkway, past a wrought-iron fence and up a spacious porch. An intern in a suit stood at the front door; he nodded as Chris approached and opened the door.
One by one the teens filed into a spacious foyer. An ornate rug stretched across the floor, oil paintings of landscapes lined the walls, and a crystalline chandelier hung from the ceiling. A grand staircase led to a second story, and archways opened to different rooms on the ground level.
“Welcome, one and all, to McLean Manor,” Chris said to the assembled teens. He motioned to a framed map on the wall next to the stairs, showing an overhead view of each floor. “We have a wide variety of amenities for your enjoyment. You can relax in the lounge, grab a bite to eat in the dining room, take a stroll through the garden, enjoy the peace and quiet of the library, shoot some pool in the billiards room, and of course dance in the ballroom. Oh, and on that note…”
Chris walked to a plain door next to the stairs that seemed to blend into the wall. It opened to a long room with racks full of fancy clothing, a row of mirrored vanities against one wall and changing booths in the back corner. Various masks hung from wall hooks: simple black domino masks, white masks with gold trim, masks styled in the shape of animals, and more.
“Since this is a masquerade ball, we’ve provided you with formal wear,” Chris said. “Suit up and we’ll get the party started.”
--
“I’m still positive Chris has something horrible planned for us later on, and this is just to lull us into a false sense of security,” MK said in the confessional closet. She shrugged. “But for now I might as well try to relax and enjoy myself. After what I’ve been through this season so far, I think I’ve earned it.”
--
After several minutes passed, the contestants and their guests gradually filed out of the dressing room. The men (as well as Axel and MK) wore three-piece suits ranging from solid black to shades of gray and blue, vests and ties providing splashes of color. The rest of the women wore either full dresses or blouse-skirt combos, in a wide spectrum of colors and styles. Rounding out their ensembles, each wore a mask over the upper half of their faces.
Chris, who’d been looking down at his phone, smiled and nodded at the assembled teens.
“All right, everyone’s looking good,” he said. “And you got done right on time, because the last of our guests have just arrived.”
“Wait, more guests?” Zee asked, the others looking equally confused. “Who else is left?”
As if in response, footsteps were heard coming up the porch.
The front door opened, and a heavyset blonde man in a mustard yellow suit entered. The black domino mask he wore over his eyes did nothing to hide his identity from those among the contestants who recognized him.
“Hey, it’s Owen!” Raj said, waving.
“Hey, what’s up everyone?!” Owen asked exuberantly.
“Uh, and he is…?” Emma asked, raising an eyebrow.
“From Total Drama’s first generation of campers and winner of the original season one,” Priya said instantly.
“He also was a guest judge during the cooking challenge last season,” Axel said.
“That’s right,” Chris said, “and he didn’t come alone!”
One by one, by more people – two men, three women, all of them around Owen’s age – stepped into the foyer.
A short woman whose ghostly pale skin contrasted sharply with her black dress, matching domino mask, and shoulder-length raven hair streaked with teal, blue and green.
A tall Asian woman in a deep red dress, a long slit running up one leg. Her black hair was done up in a bun, and piercing gray eyes stared from behind a stylized fox max.
A smiling woman with her blonde hair in a braid, her white mask lined with glistening with faux sapphires. The skirt portion of her deep blue dress seemed to flow like ocean waves.
A shorter man who practically swaggered in, smirking beneath his sparrow’s mask, wearing a garishly-stylish purple vest under his suit.
And finally, a bored-looking Indian man with plane white semi-circle mask over his eyes and nose, hands shoved in the pockets of his greenish-gray suit.
“Gonna go out on a limb and say these are more past contestants,” Bowie said.
“Brilliant deduction, Sherlock,” the Indian man said flatly.
“Ooh, I like him already,” MK said.
“Correct-o-mundo, Bowie,” Chris said. “Introducing Gwen! Heather! Bridgette, Cody and Noah!”
“That’s right folks, the Code-Meister is back!” Cody said, a cocky grin on his face as he bowed.
“I’m sure your tens of fans are thrilled,” Gwen snarked.
“So these are the new guys, huh?” Heather asked, regarding the assembled teenagers with a critical eye. “Hmph. Not nearly as iconic as us, but leagues above the freakshows from seasons four and six.”
“Be nice now, Heather,” Bridgette said. “They’ve got enough to deal with being on Total Drama.”
Noah also looked over the cast, and a single eyebrow rose above his mask. “What’s her deal?”
The contestants turned to look. Priya’s eyes were practically bulging out of her head, her mouth opening and closing.
“I-i-it’s them! It’s really-!” Priya stammered. “Gwen and –! And Noah –! And H-Heather!”
“Whoa, she’s gonna faint!” Damien said when Priya started swaying on her feet. “Somebody catch her!”
“I gotcha!” Wayne said, rushing behind Priya with his arms outstretched. “Fall into my arms!”
Priya’s eyes slipped shut as she tilted back-
-and abruptly pitched face-first onto the floor.
“Season one champion, ladies and gentlemen,” Julia snarked.
As Wayne helped a woozy Priya to her feet, Chris clapped to get everyone’s attention.
“Well, now that introductions have been taken care of,” he said, “Let the McLean Manor Masquerade officially begin!”

Saints and scans
THE BOARDROOM HAS been laid out exactly as instructed, even down to the refreshments tray waiting on the polished sideboard - the ‘distinguished guest’ edition that only comes out when they want to make sure somebody feels special. Given that today’s only external visitor is a local shopkeeper, that raised some eyebrows. Tall silver urns reflect their passing as they enter, hand-written labels on crisp white card proclaiming their contents. Actual porcelain cups and saucers are laid out enticingly in a neat line, a small box in polished dark wood propped open to display a tempting array of herbal and fruit teas, and as a finishing touch a plate of fresh shortbread waits at the very end.
Mainder wastes no time heading for the urn marked Coffee, even before Raj thinks to tell him to help himself, pouring himself a small sample and passing it under his nose as if assessing the quality of the blend. It seems to pass inspection. The corners of his eyes crinkle in a sudden smile, and he fills his cup all the way and retreats to the bay window overlooking the back lawn.
It used to be a lawn, anyway. What it is now - well it’s a tragedy, is the only possible word. The once impeccable green, centuries-old turf expertly kept, is now a crisscrossed mess of shallow pits and muddy paths worn between them, red clay tracked all about and over the brick terrace off the kitchen. The curate’s charming little pond was filled in long ago by a resident with an eye to the safety of his young family, but even with the deep water gone it remains an unappealing prospect, a waterlogged dip in the ground overshadowed by the twin pillars of the marker trees. The pooled dark between the trees reassures him, at least; somehow it appears they’ve managed not to disturb anything. Not yet anyway.
Once this was the curate’s dining room, its former function echoed now by the long oval table in polished wood, its glossy finish a dark mirror reflecting the contents of the room. That includes the nervous fidgets of the smart young man from reception, loitering near the door and casting anxious glances between the clock and Mainder himself as if expecting trouble.
He can’t bring himself to care, to be honest. So much for a ten-fifteen prompt start, but he knows a power play when he sees one. His own lateness was half laziness, half mischief, but if he’d stirred himself to arrive precisely at the designated time he doesn’t doubt the director would have been unavoidably busy until fifteen minutes after that. For coffee this excellent he’s prepared to sit still and be patient, anyway.
In the end there’s time to despatch that first cup and begin another before the door finally opens and Patterson enters.
‘So sorry to keep you waiting.’ he lies briskly, taking up position at the head of the table. Behind him follows a bland young woman wearing a scarlet blouse that clashes horribly with the shapeless floral cardigan hanging from her shoulders. Secretary, Mainder assumes, judging by the bundle of folders clutched to her thin chest. After her, a steady stream of people of all genders, all in jeans and t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts, all early twenties at the absolute most. All self-consciously checking their shoes and trouser legs for mud as if it’s only just occurred to them that they might accidentally track their working dirt across the plush carpet.
The last man in closes the door and takes his seat, and Patterson places both hands palm-flat on the table before he claims their attention with a practiced lecturer’s ‘ahem’.
‘Welcome, Mr Mainder. Ah, I believe we spoke briefly at the conference? The board were very intrigued by your insight - a little local expertise, so to speak. I wonder if perhaps we could deal with the formalities before we discuss the details.’
A folder appears at Mainder’s elbow while he’s still mulling over the implied sneer in that ‘so to speak’. He decides he won’t rise to it; he’s feeling generous today. He pats his pockets absently, reaching inside the front of his coat on one side and then the other until he finds a pair of delicate metal-rimmed glasses which he settles fussily on his face to examine the documents.
There’s not much to examine; two copies of the same thing, a non-disclosure agreement printed double-spaced on every other line and still only covering three sides of A4. Purely for the hell of it, not that he intends for a moment to abide by anything it contains, he takes his sweet time reading both copies, occasionally laying them down again to drink more coffee or flicking back to refer to a previous page, eventually laying them both side by side and comparing them line by line to make sure they’re identical.
They are. What’s more this is no generic template; his name is typed in the same font as the rest, several standard clauses are missing, and some new and very specific sections have been added to cover ‘artefacts, spoil, etc. …’ that he is under no circumstances to examine without a team member present, and even more stringently he is not to take away or remove any such items from the site. Presumably Vernon has hinted at treasure under the lawn, academic if not monetary, but how exactly do they imagine they’d stop him if that’s so?
His attention is momentarily caught by the secretary. She’s not actually doing anything, which is the strange thing; just staring down at her hands resting in her lap. A pensive Madonna, her pose suggests, humbly waiting to be glorified. It’s strangely calming, the way she sits at perfect rest. He can almost see it spreading out in gentle waves and subduing uneasy fidgets around the room. He warms to her even as he forgets her existence again. That ought to be enough time to … yes, there it is; the unmistakable rhythm of someone tapping their foot under the table. He neatly shuffles both documents into their separate piles and looks up.
‘I don’t suppose you have a pen?’
Patterson almost launches his own across the table in his haste, and Mainder reviews the cheap disposable biro for a frozen moment. It could be worse - at least the end hasn’t been chewed - but it could also most certainly be better. He puts it aside and searches his pockets again.
The fountain pen he at last produces puts Patterson’s offering to shame, as he very much intended. Capped in old gold, its bullet-shaped body in midnight blue lacquer, once upon a time it would have been the only conceivable choice for the serious man of business. He developed a strong preference for the style as soon as he was in a position to try it out and hasn’t found a good reason to change it since. He uncaps it and rests the hooded nib on the edge of the folder, teasing out the ink flow and testing it with three short strokes. The ink gleams on the thin cardboard, deep forest green, and he pulls the paperwork back over and signs both documents with an unreadable flourish. Too much to hope these people would have blotting paper to hand, if they even know what that is any more, so he holds the papers in his hand and waves them gently until he’s satisfied the ink has dried.
There’s a marked change in the atmosphere when he lays the papers back down, as though the room collectively had held its breath and is just now letting it out.
‘All done. What’s next?’
The secretary rises and passes him another thin stack of paper, shrinking away when his fingers accidentally make contact with hers, and takes her seat. She’s forced to stand up again instantly by someone on the wrong side of the room realising that he’s supposed to be setting up the display screen, and an awkward few seconds follow of people getting up, pushing in their chairs and pressing up against the table to allow him to pass before sitting back down, like a painfully polite slow-motion Mexican wave.
‘Thank you, Viktor - ah, does anyone have the controls? Ah yes, here we are. Now -’
The screen lights up with what looks very much like the same slide deck as Patterson presented at the conference. Mainder feels entirely justified in ignoring him after the first few seconds; if the man is going to narrate every single bullet point he might as well just read it himself. Especially since the first thing in the folder is a full-size print out of the exact same slides. ‘The Fairy Hill: a centre of late Bronze Age worship and commerce’, the title of the presentation proclaims, and Patterson’s monotone retelling adds nothing of value. He lets it wash over him while he reviews diagrams, photographs and blueprints, reading every detailed note. Everything he needs to know is right here.
‘… unexpected results as you can see, but I believe we’ve exhausted that area now. In phase two we’ll be investigating what appear to be significant structures under the lawn here, spreading east and extending under one corner of the current building. Possibly an earlier dwelling, cellars or foundations belonging to the current building, or earthworks relating to civil war defences.’
All solid theories. All very feasible. All of them completely and utterly wrong, which is his favourite thing about them. If you know what you’re looking for the scans clearly shadow the structures beneath, but since they don’t appear to know what they were looking for … well, this must have caused significant confusion. He almost smiles - unexpected results, indeed - and turns over the sheet to check the back.
The urge to smile drains away and he tenses, fingers pinching a crease in the edge of the thin paper. This page shows an image so clear that for a moment he’s almost convinced they’re simply playing dumb. There’s no way they can’t see what they’re looking at - the Fold’s ancient chambers, right down to the slight narrowing where one spiral arm was damaged in the Closing. He can still recall as clearly as if it were yesterday how it felt; the pain in the moment, the loss, and the dreadful aftermath as they pieced events together and discovered exactly what had been done to them all.
Chill fury rises in him like bile. Sweyn is still trapped down there somewhere - not that there’ll be anything left of the poor little sod by now, but still. If by some miracle they do get anywhere near that section, it’s on him to see if he can retrieve anything.
‘Ah, does our guest have an opinion?’
Patterson has to repeat that last before Mainder raises shadowed eyes to sweep the room. A muscle jumps in his cheek, but all he says in a quiet, flat tone is, ‘What’s your favoured option at this point?’, a neat deflection to disguise the fact that he really wasn’t paying attention.
Patterson seems delighted with the question though, gesturing eagerly at the presenter to rewind the slides back to the image of the lawn scan marked up with arrows and boxes.
‘We thought - could I have the pointer again please? Thank you - we thought here.’, and he indicates a dark blob on the far top left of the marked areas. “It looks very promising, wouldn’t you say?”.
‘As good a place as any, yes.’
His lukewarm approval sparks a burst of activity, half the table pushing back their chairs and leaving the room, the other half talking past each other in a rising babble.
For his part he keeps his eyes down, the table’s polished surface a convenient mirror for him to observe the room. There’s more to this dynamic than meets the eye. There has to be. His dark eyes flick from person to person, evaluating. Patterson - already dictating a detailed to-do list to Raj. The unlucky volunteer on tech support duty - powering down the display and extracting a storage drive with a pained grunt from the awkward socket hidden somewhere on the back. Youngsters gathering in the hallway outside waiting for the last stragglers, self-consciously sweeping the chairs clean of the traces of mud they’ve brought in with them. The secretary, still seated and leaning forward on her elbows …
… watching him. Using the table exactly as he is, the angle of reflection letting her observe him indirectly, with her colourless brows pinched together in faint concern. She holds his gaze for just a split second then rises without a word and is instantly lost in the crowded corridor.
Damn it. He didn’t actually get a decent look at her, not for all his staring. There was nothing of her to hold on to, is the problem, easily the least interesting person - visually speaking - in the room. All he can recall is mousy hair, nondescript features - and the terrible fashion sense, of course. If she discarded that awful cardigan somewhere he’d likely walk past her without a second glance. Intrigued, he rises to follow and nearly collides with Patterson stepping into his path.
‘So pleased to have you on board, Mr Mainder. Ah, can I interest you in a little guided tour?’

Apartments For Rent in Oakland in the $600 Range
Whether you are a couple, a family, or a single person, if you are looking for a place to call home, Oakland is a great place to start. It offers a lot for its residents, including access to highways and public green spaces. In addition, the weather is great, and the city has a high median household income. These factors are the reasons that Oakland is one of the hottest destinations for young professionals and families.
While Oakland is not the cheapest place in the Bay Area, it does have a few options that offer cheap apartments. In fact, you can find a 3 bedroom apartment Oakland with hardwood flooring, on-site laundry, and a garage for less than $600 per month.
However, while these apartments may be cheap, they may also be far from downtown and amenities. It may be a good idea to check out the best neighborhoods for your budget. The most affordable neighborhoods include Harrington, Fremont, and Jefferson. However, the most expensive neighborhoods in Oakland include Prescott and Port Oakland.
A 2-bedroom home with a large living room and skylight is among the best apts for rent in Oakland in $600. In addition to a full bath, there is also a laundry room and on-site garage parking.
About Oakland
Oakland has an incredible array of green spaces and parks to explore. These areas are great for biking, running, and walking. You can also enjoy art cocktails at Cafe Von Kleef or tiki drinks at The Kon-Tiki. Also, you can choose from a number of great restaurants, such as the popular Bar Rafael.
The average Oakland apartment is a little over $2,800 per month. Due to the high demand for housing in the area, the price is also likely to keep going up. However, Oakland's rent prices are reasonable considering the city's location and opportunities.
The best Oakland apartments may be in older buildings that need some work. They may also have certain restrictions, including no co-signers or guarantors. However, if you are a responsible renter, you can find a great deal.
The best apartments for rent in Oakland are likely the ones that have a walkable route to everything you need. You may also take help from raj properties to know about good deals and avoid the hassle of comparing apartments. You'll also want to take the size of the apartment into consideration, as it plays a big role in the price.
Conclusion
The best apartments for rent in Oakland may also be the ones that are a little out of town. If you are looking for a place to call your own, you can check out apartments in the Cleveland Heights or Clorox neighborhoods.
In addition, you can find a nice place to stay for under $2,600 in Oakland's Fruitvale Station neighborhood. While the best apts for rent in Oakland in $600 price range may not be as impressive as the best apartments for rent in San Francisco, there are still some great options to choose from

Where the NDP could win:
…and hence where you should absolutely vote NDP and not fear ‘vote splitting’ or ‘handing the election to the Conservatives.’ Ridings where the NDP are incumbent but behind have to be considered at least plausible.
(working from this great breakdown from @Historian_Matt on twitter, using projections (not polls) from 338 and riding history from wikipedia)
Newfoundland & Labrador - swept by LPC, time to take it back. St. John’s East: won by Jack Harris in ‘08 &’11, Harris is running again. Two way race between NDP & LPC on 338. St. John’s South—Mount Pearl: won by Ryan Cleary in ‘11, 338 doesn’t like the odds. Nova Scotia - Some lost territory to regain, CPC not a huge factor. Dartmouth–Cole Harbour: won by Robert Chisholm in ‘11, Emma Norton is an ‘Our Time’ endorsed environmental activist. Halifax: won by the excellent Megan Leslie in’08 and ‘11, previously won by former leader Alexa McDonough, this is a two-way race and this should be an NDP riding. Sackville—Preston—Chezzetcook: won by (the now-disgraced) Peter Stoffer in six consecutive elections, currently a three-way race. New Brunswick - Acadians rise up. Acadie—Bathurst: won by Yvon Godin six times between ‘97 and ‘15, two-way race against incumbent LPC Serge Cormier. Quebec - NDP not looking good, but the CPC is even lower most places. Abitibi—Baie-James—Nunavik—Eeyou: Enormous Northern riding held by the retiring Romeo Saganash. 338 has this split between the Bloc and LPC, but with the NDP not far behind. The Tories are a non-factor.
Abitibi—Témiscamingue: Currently held by retiring Christine Moore, another tight one between LPC/BQ/NDP. Beloeil—Chambly: Currently held by Matthew Dubé, the last-standing member of the McGill 5. 338 has him well behind the LPC and BQ. Berthier—Maskinongé: Currently held by Ruth Ellen Brosseau (the notorious REB) and one of the few Quebec ridings that the NDP can be said to be leading in. It would be ludicrous to vote Liberal here, it’s REB or the Bloc. Drummond: Currently held by Francois Choquette, 338′s breakdown somehow puts him 4th. Hochelaga: Currently held by retiring Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet, now allegedly a LPC/Bloc battleground. Fuck ‘em both, vote NDP. Jonquière: Currently held by Karine Trudel, who, like Choquette in Drummond, is improbably in 4th. Laurier—Sainte-Marie: The site of the retiring Hélène Laverdière defeating Bloc leader Gilles Duceppe, and a Quebec riding where the NDP are second to the LPC. Rimouski-Neigette—Témiscouata—Les Basques: Leadership candidate Guy Caron’s riding, which he won in ‘11 and ‘15. 338 has him behind the Bloc and LPC. Sucks to that. Rosemont—La Petite-Patrie: NDP Deputy Leader Alexandre Boulerice isn’t going anywhere. Currently ahead. Saint-Hyacinthe—Bagot: Currently held by Brigitte Sansoucy. Salaberry—Suroît: Held by the retiring Anne Minh-Thu Quach. Sherbrooke: Pierre-Luc Dusseault is now 28 years old after two full terms in office, unfortunately Sherbrooke is yet another Quebec riding now being contested between the Bloc and LPC. Trois-Rivières: Another of the 2011 pickups that weathered 2015, incumbent Robert Aubin being given a disrespectful 8.9% on 338. Ontario - Big yikes of a province, but traditional ridings could hold. Algoma—Manitoulin—Kapuskasing: Carol Hughes has represented this rural riding since 2008, currently polling well. Brampton East: Raj Grewal left the LPC amid a particularly spicy investigation into his gambling debts. Canada’s only majority South Asian riding, its provincial analogue is held by Jagmeet’s brother. 338 lists it as safe LPC even so. Beaches—East York: NDP has been a strong performer in this riding and held it in the past, it’s a two-way race between them and LPC. Davenport: Won by Andrew Cash in 2011, he’s back and trailing slightly. Essex: Tracey Ramsey won this riding in 2015, this is a rare NDP/CPC race and Tracey’s leading but she needs your vote. Hamilton Centre: The retiring David Christopherson is the only MP this riding has known (created in 2004,) Our Time is endorsing his replacement, Matthew Green. He’s leading, according to 338. Hamilton East—Stoney Creek: Previously held by Wayne Marston from ‘06 to ‘15, and a race between the LPC and NDP. Hamilton Mountain: Historically always a LPC/NDP battleground, currently an orange seat for Scott Duvall. London—Fanshawe: I don’t generally approve of dynastic politics, but the retiring Irene Mathyssen’s daughter Lindsay is vying to replace her in London and is currently ahead of the LPC. Niagara Centre: Malcolm Allen won this riding in ‘08 and ‘11 and is trying to avenge his 2015 defeat in what now looks like a three-way race. Nickel Belt: Traded between LPC and NDP for decades, singer-songwriter Stef Paquette is in yet another close race. Oshawa: Not sure I agree with the detective work on this one. Yes, Ed Broadbent used to rep Oshawa. Literally thirty years ago. Candidate seems like a good one though. Ottawa Centre: Also repped by Ed and the late, great Paul Dewar. Currently held by the duplicitous Catherine McKenna, the NDP are polling 2nd in this used-to-be stronghold. Parkdale—High Park: Once the riding of powerhouse Peggy Nash, another two-way race. Check out Paul Taylor’s specs. Sault Ste. Marie: Strong NDP results historically, held by Tony Martin among others. NDP candidate Sara McCleary really laid it all out when she was nominated. Scarborough North: Previously held by Rathika Sitsabaiesan in 2011, NDP currently polling 3rd. Scarborough Southwest: Strong LPC district, though Dan Harris won this riding in 2011. Whoever you vote for here, maybe don’t vote for Bill fucking Blair. Spadina—Fort York: downtown Toronto, previously the riding of Olivia Chow. Climate activist Diana Yoon in tough against incumbent Adam Vaughn. CPC a non-factor. Sudbury: LPC/NDP battleground, with the Liberals on top pretty solidly in the polls. Thunder Bay—Rainy River: Close race between incumbent LPC and the NDP. The late John Rafferty represented the riding between 2008-2015. Thunder Bay—Superior North: Contest is a three-way between aisle-crossing GPC Bruce Hyer, incumbent LPC Patty Hadju and the NDP’s Anna Betty Achneepinsekum, former Deputy Grand Chief of the Nishnawbe Aski Nation. Timmins–James Bay: Say what you will about Charlie Angus, the wannabe-Pat Martin is not in any particular danger of losing this race. Toronto—Danforth: As matter of principle the NDP should not have lost Jack’s riding in 2015, and as this is essentially a two-way race between them and the LPC, documentarian Min Sook Lee should absolutely have your vote. Windsor—Tecumseh: Big NDP riding, incumbent Cheryl Hardcastle should be able to hold a riding the party has held all millennium. Windsor West: Similarly, Brian Masse has represented Windsor West since 2002. It’s his to lose. Toronto Centre: I mean, imagine unseating Bill Morneau. Liberals have a big lead here, the CPC are a non-factor and Brian Chang is an excellent candidate. University—Rosedale: Still unhappy that Jennifer Hollett lost out to Capitalism with a Human Face Chrystia Freeland, and further unhappy that Freeland seems a shoe-in for re-election. NDP are second, for what it’s worth. York South—Weston: Won by the NDP’s Mike Sullivan in ‘11, something of an LPC stronghold otherwise. Again, NDP are second in a very Liberal riding. Manitoba - well, it’s not all bad news. Churchill—Keewatinook Aski: Yeah, Niki Ashton’s sticking around. It was close in 2015, but this is her 4th rodeo. Elmwood—Transcona: aka, the Blaikie dynasty riding. Again, I don’t care for that sort of thing but I do hope Daniel Blaikie holds on here. Currently 2nd behind the CPC. Winnipeg Centre: I feel like the good people of Winnipeg, who dumped Pat Martin for the Liberals in 2015, should be real disappointed with Ouellette. 338 has this one pretty tight with the NDP, and Leah Gazan is an incredible candidate. Winnipeg North: Historically a strong NDP riding despite disappointing results this decade. Saskatchewan - The LPC is almost completely absent, the NDP trail the CPC everywhere. Desnethé—Missinippi—Churchill River: Currently held by Georgina Jolibois, tight race with the CPC here. Saskatoon West: Currently held by deputy NDP leader Sheri Benson, and apparently another tight one. Regina—Lewvan: Oy. Currently held by former-NDP Erin Weir, who is thankfully not running. Seems like a loss incoming, CPC leading the NDP. Saskatoon—Grasswood: Safe CPC territory but with decent NDP numbers. Saskatoon—University: Oh gods, Brad Trost’s riding. The NDP are the second choice overwhelmingly here, but the Trostlodyte seems entrenched. Alberta - Let’s keep this short. Edmonton Strathcona: Linda Duncan, who won this seat in 2011, is retiring. Her would-be replacement Heather McPherson has a real uphill battle against… Alberta, conceptually. BC - The Greens are beginning to become a problem. Burnaby North—Seymour: Svend Robinson is back. Despicable CPC candidate Heather Leung has been removed (but remains on the ballot.) LPC incumbent Terry Beech has made wild claims about the necessity of defeating the Conservatives. I wanna bet on Svend but it seems like a hard one, especially with a strong Green 3rd place. Burnaby South: If the NDP lose this riding we’ve learned a very important and painful lesson. CPC Jay Shin has disturbingly high numbers. Cowichan—Malahat—Langford: Alistair McGregor won this riding in 2015 and looks ahead of the pack in the rare 4-way race. Courtenay—Alberni: close CPC/NDP race with incumbent NDP Gord Johns looking okay but not exactly strong. Greens in a close third place. Esquimalt—Saanich—Sooke: On the island, NDP incumbents like Randall Garrison are in real danger of being run-over by the Greens – he’s currently polling third, behind the GPC and CPC. Kootenay—Columbia: NDP incumbent Wayne Stetski is in a close race with the CPC, they’re the only two parties relevant in this interior battle. Nanaimo—Ladysmith: Paul Manly won a spring by-election for the Greens, taking the riding from the NDP. Every expectation is they’ll hold it, and the NDP seem to be fighting the Conservatives for 2nd. New Westminster—Burnaby: Peter Julian has represented the NDP from a variation of this riding since 2004, his biggest rival here is the LPC. North Island—Powell River: Incumbent NDPer Rachel Blaney barely leads the pack of 4, edging out the CPC. Needs your help, for sure. Port Moody—Coquitlam: part-man part-shark Fin Donnelly, having finally realized his legislative goals of banning shark-fins, is retiring. The NDP are thus in tough against the CPC for the fate of Po-Mo-Co, with the LPC not super far behind. Skeena—Bulkley Valley: Everyone’s favourite NDP MP Nathan Cullen is retiring and this enormous riding is sadly thus in play, a race between the NDP and CPC. South Okanagan—West Kootenay: Incumbent NDP Dick Cannings, avian biologist extraordinaire, is in a rare Interior three-way with retired tennis pro Helena Konanz and an unusually strong LPC in third. Surrey Centre: LPC seem likely to hold, the NDP are well-back in 2nd. NDP have a history of doing well in North Surrey. Surrey—Newton: I don’t think the recent scandal involving former MP Jinny Sims is going to help the NDP in this riding, but they are the 2nd choice to the incumbent LPC. Vancouver East: Never in doubt. The NDP have repped East Van consistently since they were the CCF, going all the way back to the thirties. Two brief interruptions in the 70s and 90s, otherwise 75 of the last 84 years this fortress of leftism has held. Vancouver Kingsway: My riding. Don Davies has done well by us for more than a decade. The Liberals attempting to gain this riding by parachuting in TV presenter Tamara Taggart kinda makes my blood boil. I’m good with Don. He’s got a healthy lead but it’ll be closer than I’d like. Northwest Territory At-Large: Three way race, could be a vote splitter. Nunavut At-Large: Three way race, could be a vote splitter. Sure would like to see them dump Leona. Mumilaq Qaqqaq is a fascinating candidate for the NDP.

The Wedding: Part 1
It was decided that we would use the Gattuso and the College helicopter service to bring us near to the site where the ceremony would take place and then take armored vehicles to the actual site. So long as we had the Raj, we believed the Sons of Raj would hold their fire.
Yamir was already drunk, singing incoherent love ballads. Caesar was keeping him in a good mood and unaware of anything going on in the background.
Master List
I met Lu Mingfei, checking and rechecking his gear, including the alchemy bullets that were guaranteed to damage a dragon. He closed the box over them putting them in his pack “You sleep okay?” He asked me, not looking up.
“No.”
“Me neither.”
“Can I talk to you for a second?” I asked.
“Yeah, close the door though. Your BF’s a gigantic snoop.”
I smiled and complied. Then I went over and sat next to him leaning my face into his shoulder. We sat silently for a long time, not moving.
“Johann’s plan is ... strange.” He whispered. “Normally, he would want to cut down Leviathan as soon as possible. Why allow the ceremony? Did he say anything?”
“I don’t know...”
“It’s cruel... even for him.” He stared into space a long time and then closed his eyes. “My head hurts.” He whispered.
He turned to me. “Don’t go crazy out there. We have Club-S to go home to.”
I clung to his arm and nodded. “I... said something to Johann that I shouldn’t have.” I whispered as quietly into his ear as I could. “His reaction was not good.”
Lu’s eyes widened. “About dragons? Carli...”
“I know... it was stupid...” I hung my head in shame.
“Why?” He shook his head in disbelief.
“Because... I wanted to be closer to him. I’m tired of holding in all these secrets from him.”
“Well..” He raised his eyebrows and closed his eyes. “Welcome to my world.”
He lifted one hand and put it on my head. “Don’t beat yourself up too bad. I confessed to Nono and look where it got me. It doesn’t always work out.”
I chewed my lip, my memory flashing back to Nono’s tears and her self-inflicted Frigg shot that took her out of the Day of Liberty. Yet another secret I had to keep.
When I didn’t answer he said, “Try to put it out of your head. We’re leaving in a few minutes.”
The Raj was resplendent his green and gold wedding attire, bedecked in gold jewels and a shining gold cape that flapped in the wind of the helicopter rotors. “Are they ALIVE?!” He asked, incredulously.
“It’s hard to explain!” Caesar grinned. “Let’s just say yes, and no.”
“Yes... and no... fascinating.”
I ducked my head and climbed into the helicopter that would take us out to shore of the Bay of Bengal. About thirty minutes after lift off, our protective earphones got a signal from Caesar. “Well, something interesting just happened. I’ve been invited to be the best man and Nono, the best lady.”
Johann frowned deeper. “It’s a trap.”
“Are you sure about that?”
“I guarantee it.”
“I’m not sure if I believe it, Johann. You didn’t know you loved Carli for months, while I could see it from the day you got pissed at the Principal. Remember?”
I looked over at Johann in confusion.
Johann sighed. “What does that have to do with anything?”
“You wouldn’t know the signs of love if it bit you on the nose!”
Johann rolled his eyes.
“I’ve hung out with this guy. It’ll be fine. Nono and I will escort him. When everything starts, we’ll be right in the thick of it! Haha!”
Johann turned off his mic. “Maniac.”
He glanced down at me and then looked away. We didn’t speak for the entire trip.

Marriage For Peace
Prompt: “I know it doesn’t seem so, but I will take care of you.”
Khan x Reader
It was no fun being a walking peace offering, you reflected, standing nervously beside the looming figure in Black signing forms and speaking the necessary words to finalize the “marriage.” (You shuddered at actually calling it that.)
You’d only met Khan Noonien Singh once before, but somehow had managed to catch his attention enough so he’d mentioned your name when negotiating the terms and you’d been strong armed into marrying the augment. If you hadn’t been so worn down by the war and sick of the fighting, you would never have let Marcus manipulate you like that. As it was, you saw it as taking one for the team, so to speak. No more lives should be lost, even if it meant being a political pawn and living out the rest of your life on the Augments home world with a man who was said to be cold, calculating and ruthless.
Having one of his people marry a Terran and take up residence on earth ensured both parties would have incentive to treat the spouse with respect, but it sure as heck didn’t guarantee it. You thought it might be just a few notches better than being a prisoner of war, given how Khan was known for sneering at “inferior” humans.
Well, it couldn’t be helped. You showed up on the official day in proper dress uniform with your allowed witnesses (your best friend, commanding officer, and mother) and waited for the augments to show up.
They were very prompt indeed and came in all their imposing regal splendor right on time. Khan was accompanied by a man and a woman for his witnesses, all garbed in black.
He was both terrifying and stunning with a very unusual type of handsomeness and narrow, almost gaunt facial features and alert blue eyes that took in every detail before fastening on you. His jet black hair was impeccably tidy and very striking. You could only imagine what he was thinking: probably something about having to stoop to this level and what a sacrifice he was making for his people…..
“Commander Y/L/N,” he said with a nod, offering a handshake.
“Khan,” you acknowledged, using his proper title.
“Before we go through with this, I must be certain you have given full consent,” he added, looking skeptically at Admiral Marcus.
Oh, boy. It was a nice, but empty gesture.
“I have,” you said simply, ignoring the rest of what you could have added. There would be time for questions later.
“Very well, shall we proceed?” Khan Asked, looking towards the Admiral, who was going to make everything official.
Stomach clenching, you nodded and the ceremony began. It was very surreal and strange and businesslike, not what you’d imagined when you pictured a possible wedding day. The war had put normal life and romance on the back burner, but you’d still hoped to end up finding that special someone eventually.
That was off the table now, but as long as it kept people safe, you could deal with it.
The ceremonies complete, there were handshakes and good wishes all around then a photo was taken to commemorate the historic occasion and a dinner held with great pomp and circumstance. The food looked fabulous, but you couldn’t eat much, dreading the upcoming departure.
“Is the food not to your liking?” Khan asked presently, noticing your bird like appetite.
You mustered up a wan smile.
“Ordinarily, yes, but I’m not very hungry right now. Too much uncertainty and emotions about leaving earth. I’ve never lived off planet other than a Starship.”
“I imagine it will be quite an adjustment for you,” he remarked not unkindly. “I do hope you will find our home very hospitable as well.”
“I’ve heard it’s a pretty fabulous planet,” you mentioned honestly. That was one thing about the augments: they’d settled on a very hospitable planet and were taking very good care of it, from the unbiased reports you’d heard. (Marcus’s lackeys would tell a different story, but you knew better than to believe them.)
This sparked a proud hint of smile from Khan.
“It is Indeed a most gracious and beautiful planet. We are fortunate to dwell there.”
“You have me curious now,” you admitted.
“It will not be long before we depart and are on our way to satisfying your curiosity,” Khan replied, another slight smile appearing.
“I have like six giant suitcases and three boxes. I hope that’s not too much,” you babbled, nerves appearing again.
“Not at all. The Botany Bay 2 has a large cargo capacity. Considering your whole life is being uprooted, I would have expected much more.”
“I could have, but in the end it’s just stuff,” you admitted, surprised at the thoughtfulness. He did seem to understand that this was hard for you. “I made myself stick to what I absolutely needed or wanted. Be glad I didn’t take my antique wardrobe or nightstand that weigh a ton.”
This seemed to amuse him greatly, and he actually full on smiled, which made him seem much less severe and was a shock to your system, never having seen anything remotely like this side of him.
“That was thoughtful of you, but it would have posed no problem. Our backs don’t break as easily as the standard humans do.”
That was one way of putting it. You gave him points for being tactful, but were confused he’d managed to change his tune so much. You’d heard the contempt with which he used to refer to non augments.
“Maybe not, but you might have been sore and annoyed with me. Better to start things off NOT irritating your family.”
“Diplomatic. A useful trait,” he said approvingly.
“I’ve honed it over the years. Someday I’ll tell you what I used to be like.”
Now it was Khan’s turn to look curious, but the conversation was interrupted and you were soon caught up in the last preparations and saying goodbyes.
“If they let you, please send me a message when you’ve arrived,” your mother tearfully implored.
“I’ll try,” you promised.
“It’s been an honor serving with you, Commander,” your now former Captain said solemnly. “Your service will never be forgotten. A lot of lives have been saved today.”
“I hope so,” you said past the lump in your throat.
“If he ever mistreats you in any way, just call me and I’ll come kick his tail, augment or not!” Your longtime friend Melissa whispered fiercely, wrapping you in a hug.
“Thanks,” you managed, sadness and gratitude mingling inside you. You were going to miss everyone so much. You had no idea if you’d be allowed to visit earth, though you held on to hope that being Khan’s wife would grant you the privilege of going with him on his occasional diplomatic journeys.
If Khan noticed the droplets under your eyes when the two of you mounted the transporter platform to beam up to the waiting ship, he didn’t say anything. You heaved a small sigh as the yellow lights took you. In moments you stood aboard a large transporter room aboard refuse the Starship. It was rather softly lit and not as garish as the transporter you’d just come from, but looked otherwise exactly like the counterparts on Starfleet ships. There were a surprisingly large amount of Augments waiting there, ready to greet their leader. They were a very diverse group and were currently staring at you with various expressions of curiosity, wonder, skepticism, and on a few, disdain and mild hostility.
Yep, here came the difficult part. Khan offered his elbow and you took it as he addressed his people.
“Brothers and Sisters, may I present Y/N Y/L/N. She has become my wife and sealed the newfound peace between us and The Terrans as did our sister Elizaveta in wedding the Terran Captain. I trust that you will be gracious and hospitable in welcoming her to our family. The war is over and we should be celebrating the end of hostilities by moving past our prejudices and differences. Disrespect will not be tolerated. We are putting the past behind us starting today. Now, Commander,” he turned to you, “what luggage will you immediately require? Your belongings will shortly be beamed aboard.”
“The smallest dark green suitcase, please,” you answered.
“Raj, will you see to it that the requested item be placed in the quarters immediately adjacent to mine?”
An Indian man nodded at Khan’s order and moved through the crowd to wait on the transport.
“You May return to your posts,” Khan addressed the others. “You will all be introduced to your new sister as I help familiarize her to our society.”
With a smattering of “Yes, Sirs” and respectful gestures, most of the augments cleared out of the room, leaving only Raj and two others who had been assigned to handle your belongings.
You realized you’d been awkwardly clinging to his arm the whole time and let go with a blush.
“Wow. There’s a lot of them,” you blurted out.
“A tiny fraction of the population,” he said with a touch of humor. “But I will do my best to not overwhelm you.”
“Thank you,” you replied. “I was a little unnerved by the way some of them were looking at me. It’s one thing to face them in battle from the comfort of one’s heavily armed starship, a whole other thing to be on their turf, surrounded by people who could break my neck without breaking a sweat.”
Khan turned to face you fully, taking one of your hands in his gently.
“I know it doesn’t seem like it, given what I have said about humans in the past, Y/N, but I do not see you as weak and I will take care you.” He looked a touch weary for a moment. “I myself have indeed harbored such prejudices, but as I told my brothers and sisters, it is time to realize the error of our assumptions and strive for good relationships. They will not harm you if they wish to remain in good standing.”
His deep velvety voice had dropped a notch in volume and you felt yourself inclined to believe him, given the earnestness in his eyes.
“I’m all about destroying false assumptions, Khan,” you declared. “I’ll also try to do the same.”
He gave a pleased smile and you felt the tension and uncertainty inside you ease with the mutual agreement of understanding. Perhaps this political marriage could work for the good of both of you.
“Excellent,” he pronounced. “Now, would you like to rest, or would you be interested in seeing the rest of the ship?”
“Oh, I’d love to see the ship!” You declared with the most enthusiasm you’d been able to muster all day.
“Very well. So you shall.” Khan said approvingly. “Right this way, Y/N.”

What chance does each remaining team have at winning the Super Bowl?
Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports
The Packers are the favorites right now, but not by as much as you’d think.
We’re through the “amuse bouche” phase of the NFL Playoffs with Super Wild Card Weekend in the books, and honestly ... we didn’t learn a ton. Outside of the Cowboys losing, it was all chalk, and the weekend was more about weeding out the teams who got to say “we made the playoffs,” but really had no business being in the postseason to begin with (looking at you Steelers and Eagles).
Now we can look more closely at the teams left. The chance of a wild upset that could influence the Super Bowl is largely removed, and you could make a compelling case for any of the eight teams left to make a run and potentially hoist the Lombardi. Of course, we know not all teams are created equal — and we’re still fairly early in the postseason process. So let’s look at the teams left, and rank their chances.
NFC
The elements that makes the NFC most compelling this season are the categories the remaining teams fall in. We have the favorite in Green Bay, two teams following a similar blueprint that has a history of working with the Buccaneers and Rams, then the 49ers who are an agent of chaos in an otherwise predictable playoff slate.
The Packers have been the class of the NFC since their Week 1 shocker against the Saints. Everything continues to click for Green Bay on the field, with Aaron Rodgers’ self-destruction off the gridiron being the only blemish on an otherwise spotless season. Obviously they’re going to be the favorite to make the Super Bowl based on status alone, and the only thing that could ruin this is some sort of implosion.
The Buccaneers and Rams are really interesting cases. Both are completely in “win now” mode, with Tampa Bay setting the blueprint last season for taking aging players and propping open the window with boat loads of cash. Initially it seemed Los Angeles was doing some minor retooling with their QB change to Matthew Stafford, but this gave way to major in-season acquisitions like Odell Beckham Jr. and Von Miller, who have elevated the team into a juggernaut.
In isolation the Rams have a better roster top to bottom, but they don’t have Tom Brady.
Last, but not least, we have the 49ers. I’m sure not even the most die-hard Niners fan would have expected the team to do this well before the start of the season. Keep in mind they went in on trading for Trey Lance, which seemed to precipitate an anticipated rebuild — but instead San Francisco is just playing really great football. The defense is strong, the offense is volatile and dangerous with Deebo Samuel being one of the most fun dudes in all of football. They’re just fun to watch.
Here are my predictions for the NFC
This is done by mapping potential outcomes to games based on several factors including similar games, offensive/defensive expected points, with an independent tilt for current roster strength. I have bolded the outcomes I believe will happen, but other possible results are listed in order to work out the final potential of a team to win the Super Bowl.
Divisional Round
Packers (62%) def. 49ers (38%) Rams (55%) def. Buccaneers (45%)
Conference Championship
Rams (65%) def. 49ers (35%) Buccaneers (62%) def. 49ers (38%) Packers (61%) def. Buccaneers (39%) Packers (58%) def. Rams (42%)
Chance of making the Super Bowl
Note: These will not add up to 100% due to independent odds
Packers: 60% Rams: 54% Buccaneers: 49% 49ers: 37%
AFC
The AFC is so different to the AFC it’s stunning. Where the NFC feels like it’s better right now, the AFC is where the future of the entire league lies. We have elite teams currently like the Chiefs and Bills who are a piece or two away from being world-beaters, and up an up and coming teams in the Bengals who are destined for greatness unless they have huge front office mishaps.
Inside all this are the Tennessee Titans. This was a team dominating all season long, then Derrick Henry got hurt. It changed the complexion of the entire season for the Titans, but this team still kept winning games. They beat the Rams and 49ers, who NFC playoffs teams, both without Henry — then were pushed by the Saints and lost to the Steelers, so it’s all very up in the air. There’s potential here for a major run, or a complete whiff. I don’t think there’s anything in between.
The two best, most complete teams in the division are the Chiefs and Bills, both of whom have the least potential to completely blow up. They will cannibalize each other this weekend — which really opens the door for something weird to happen. It’s not fair how this played out, but it is what it is.
There’s no question Cincinnati would be the feel-good team to make it out of the conference. From worst in the NFL to the Super Bowl using young players and coaching talent would be one of the most remarkable turnarounds in recent memory. I actually think this has potential, just because of how erratic the Titans are.
Here are my predictions for the AFC

I have bolded the outcomes I believe will happen, but other possible results are listed in order to work out the final potential of a team to win the Super Bowl.

Chiefs: 63% Bills: 57% Bengals: 41% Titans: 39%
Super Bowl winning chances
Using the same methodology, here is every potential Super Bowl matchup, and the favorite. Once again my prediction will be bolded.
49ers (53%) def. Bengals (47%) Titans (51%) def. 49ers (49%) Bills (64%) vs. 49ers (36%) Chiefs (68%) def. 49ers (32%) Buccaneers (60%) def. Bengals (40%) Buccaneers (61%) def. Titans (39%) Bills (53%) def. Buccaneers (47%) Chiefs (56%) def. Buccaneers (44%) Rams (67%) def. Bengals (33%) Rams (69%) def. Titans (31%) Rams (55%) def. Bills (45%) Chiefs (59%) def. Rams (41%) Packers (77%) vs. Bengals (23%) Packers (74%) def. Titans (26%) Packers (57%) def. Bills (43%) Packers (54%) def. Chiefs (46%)
This all brings us to ... chance to win the Super Bowl
Packers: 16% Chiefs: 15% Rams: 14% Bills: 14% Buccaneers: 13% 49ers: 11% Bengals: 9% Titans: 8%
These are the cumulative odds of each team moving from their upcoming playoff game, through the divisional playoff round, winning the Conference Championship, and finally winning the Super Bowl.
Naturally, when a team is eliminated their percentage would be redistributed to the remaining teams, which is how we finally bring us to two teams, both with a chance of winning it all.
I think this whole exercise is interesting in breaking down just how close all the playoffs are when we consider every factor. Your gut right now might say “____ is definitely winning it all,” but in reality there are so many potential points of failure along the way that nobody has a runaway chance early in the playoffs. That’s what makes all this fun.

Exotic Locations for that Grand Affair for a Destination Wedding in India
Although destination weddings are likely new in India, an increasing number of individuals prefer to celebrate the wonderful occasion with only their closest friends and family members. Thankfully, India has a mix of unique and gorgeous settings that may add beauty and awe to the most important day of a person's life. Perhaps this explains why destination weddings in India have grown so popular. So, whether you like the beach or palaces, mountains or forts, India provides all you need to make your wedding a memorable occasion. The following is a list of 10 fantastic locations in India for a destination wedding.
1. Udaipur - A Beautiful Wedding Destination:
Because of the lakes and palaces that dot the city's breadth, this lovely site is appreciated by both Indians and tourists. Udaipur's beautiful royal structures give it a charm that only a few towns can match. Weddings in Udaipur are said to be like something out of a fairytale. The Jag Mandir palace or the Oberoi-UdaiVilas offer one of the most beautiful locations for a wedding celebration, with a sense of opulence, richness, and grandeur. It is definitely one of the most popular wedding locations in India. Do you remember Kalki Kochelin's wedding? Is it true that Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwani?
2. Jaipur - For a Grand Wedding Location:
Jaipur is known for its mix of tradition and opulence, which is why it is so popular for spectacular wedding festivities, which are generally held in real colorful palaces or former mansions. The 'pink city' offers a wide range of celebratory ideas and venue possibilities, including palaces such as the Raj and Rambagh Palace, Havelis, and traditional settings such as the Samode Palace built into the Aravali Ranges carved into the hill.
3. Kerala's Backwaters - Try Something Different:
Kerala is a peaceful and enjoyable location for people who prefer quiet and scenic ceremonies than a large and crowded celebration. The backwaters are tranquil, beautiful, and provide a vision that will linger in one's mind for a long time. The ideal location for an Indian destination wedding. Consider the coconut palm-lined beaches, the backwaters, and the beautiful houseboats. Heavenly!
4. Andaman & Nicobar Islands - Beach Wedding:
The possibility of entering a new realm, away from the mainland, in the middle of white sand beaches, maybe in an amazing private resort, is what this Indian destination wedding offers. It's nothing short of a tropical paradise on the Bay of Bengal, with beautiful beaches and lush green woods. The Havelock Islands, also known as the Ross Islands, are one of the most beautiful islands in the Andaman Sea. One of the most romantic locations for a wedding.
5. Jodhpur - For a Rajputana Style Grand Affair:
Rajasthan has a plethora of these romantic wedding venues. People go from all over the world to marry at the spectacular royal hotel known as Umaid Bhavan, which is set on a mountaintop with a stunning view of the 'blue city.' The royal family still lives in a section of the great palace, which has hosted several lavish weddings. The Ranbaka Palace, the Ajit Bhawan, and the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort are some of the other venues in Jodhpur.
6. Neemrana Fort:
A Stone's Throw from Delhi: This old fort near Delhi is ideal for a picture shoot because of its intimidating and magnificent design, as well as the shock-and-awe impact that few sites can boast of. The Neemrana Fort Palace has grown in popularity as a weekend retreat from Delhi to host a regal and magnificent wedding ceremony and provide the bride and groom with some priceless memories (and photographs). This location in India is the perfect setting for a memorable destination wedding.
7. Goa - Weddings and Parties Go Hand In Hand
Goa is arguably the trendiest and most popular destination wedding location in India since it allows you to have a variety of weddings or ceremonies, including beach parties and quiet religious rites in historic churches. It's one of the best wedding venues since it's like a tropical pleasure that can engulf everyone in its allure and scent.
8. Agra - The Taj Mahal Is Romantic, But It's a Little Clichéd:
This venue must be included in any list of exotic wedding locations in India. Isn't it wonderful to commemorate one's marital joy in the midst of the Taj Mahal, the pinnacle of love? Many people have their wedding ceremonies at Agra's colossal hotels and resorts overlooking the Taj Mahal, which are illuminated by one of the world's most stunning wonders (and of love itself)
9. Lavasa: Make your Indian wedding stand out with an Italian backdrop.
This well-planned township in Pune is billed as India's first planned community. Hill station is based on an Italian town. With waterfalls, mountains, lakes, meandering roads, and stunning vistas, this location is ideal for a destination wedding in India away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. In fact, it has recently been a popular destination for such events, thanks to its excellent infrastructure and services. Many hotels, as well as the Lavasa International Conventions Center, specialize in holding such events are available.
