Poppy Rowan’s new look, not gonna lie, the dress is cute. If I ever get a double of Poppy, I would love to recreate this look. Idk why they think she wouldn’t sell. Her pet is even a cat! Why wouldn’t that sell? Makes no sense.

the autism won again and i got back to working up a concept for rebooting and hopefully at least somewhat improving probably the worst toy ever

ALSO TO THOSE IN THE KNOW, DON'T WORRY: SLUDGE SQUAD/SEWERS AND SPARKLES ISN'T DEAD. I STILL NEED TO SHOW THE CHARACTERS AT SOME POINT. i just consider it distinct enough to consider it a separate project now.

i love to praise ever after high for being one of the first doll lines to even tease a sapphic relationship on screen (i only say one of the first as roxxi and nevra from bratz were not confirmed until 2020), but the reality is ever after high was such a product of its time because even then, with an entire on screen kiss… they completely pushed aside any sort of development between darling and apple in favor of daring and it really sucks.

i LOVE daring, and i absolutely adore darabella. i love his arc in epic winter and i think it’s such perfect character development for him. what i don’t like, however, is that darling was such an important character in dragon games. like, the entire ending of dragon games was due to her character arc and her discovering her destiny, and… they barely show her on screen during epic winter. she gets maybe ten seconds of screentime in the background of some shots, and her and apple never even speak.

mattel had the best opportunity to give darling and apple some much needed discovery and closure during epic winter, especially after daring went through his own character arc and found out that he was destined to be with rosabella. i think it was in part that so many parents probably complained about the kiss (which is also why the “it was cpr” or “it was a friendship kiss” theories are so popular) so they pushed darling off screen in order to make parents happy, but it still drives me absolutely bonkers.

in general, i actually sincerely hate how mattel treated the charming children. it was obvious who their favorite was (daring) and i can’t fault them for that because i really do enjoy him and his arc, but dexter and darling were both routinely pushed aside and it drives me insane even all these years later.

I dont see nearly enough people clown on the garbage that is rainbow high’s “world building” like forst we have shadow high show up w their unnatural skin even tho this was supposed to be a more grounded universe n we’re just meant to accept that shadow high students have unnatrual skintones - we never get an answer to why

Then the trash reboot comes n instead of simply cancelling the current series n creating a new one(like monster high did for all its gens) they set it up in tbe same universe as the current show n expline shit nothing abt the fantasy world

THEN AS IF A L L OF THIS WASNT ENOUGH NOW WE GET THE CLEAR LEGGED GIRLS WHOM DESPITE BEING RH STUDENTS(whom remeber are basically just regular kids w monochromic theme) HAVE SAID CLEAR LEGS N ONCE AGAIN WE GET NO EXPLANATION

I wonder what’s gonna happen to the few leaks we saw of the shadow high models?? If this really is a reboot (which it’s looking more like it is) then they’re probably gonna scrap any unfinished rainbow high projects.

What do you think of how they're rebooting Rainbow High, and why do you suppose they're leaving Poppy out?

Most of what I've seen so far were those leaks about the girls having those slime/crystal pets (along with having "sparkly" faces now?) and uhhhh...

...yeaaaah dunno how to really feel tbh, esp after the strong doll lines we've had throughout the year (as conflicting story-wise as some of them were during the RainbowVision/Shadow High arc). Like we're gonna go from these really glamorous, intricately detailed Rainbow Divas, Storm Twins & Costume Ball ladies to... cutesy-wootsey glitter girls? .-. Idk, hopefully they'll look a bit better in-person or maybe even get some design tweaks before their final release (like they did for Krystal Bailey way back then), 'cause otherwise... ehhhh >>;;

And I don't even get the whole Poppy exclusion either cause like... what's a proper rainbow without orange, yknow? 🥺🌈Even if her character was sadly pushed more to the background as time went on, I still found Poppy a pretty cute & relatable character imo (with quite a unique aesthetic with her monarch butterfly/music-themed focus).

As for why I theorize they're cutting her out of the main line... honestly I'm not sure, I guess they might think some kids aren't so big on orange as a doll color (or prob just feel like they’d go more for “rainbow” aesthetics like Amaya’s vibe)? Idk, still seems rather silly in my opinion so either way, #JusticeForPoppy :/
