Between Logic and Passion
Summary: You navigate the delicate balance between Kaveh's emotional idealism and Ratio's sharp intellect. Though they often clash, you help them realize how their shared passions make them stronger together. As the three of you reflect on your relationship, a quiet harmony settles over your lives, promising a future built on love, creativity, and understanding.

Kaveh had always been a whirlwind of emotion, while Ratio was a storm of intellect, a calculated force that could dismantle an argument with precision. You, however, had always seen how the two mirrored each other more than they would ever admit. Perhaps that was why you had found yourself at the center of their unusual, sometimes chaotic, yet undeniably tender relationship.
Tonight, you sat in the alcove of Kaveh's latest project—a breathtaking garden terrace filled with fragrant blossoms and intricate stonework. Ratio stood nearby, analyzing the structural integrity of a carved archway. Kaveh, by contrast, lounged on the soft cushions next to you, gesturing animatedly about his vision for the space.
“Can you believe he questioned my choice of materials?” Kaveh huffed, shooting Ratio a pointed look.
Ratio didn’t even glance up. “Marble is inefficient for the load-bearing pillars, given the humidity here. My calculations are sound.”
You smiled at their familiar banter, interrupting before it spiraled into another heated debate. “Both of you bring something unique to the table. Ratio, your precision ensures the structure lasts for centuries. And Kaveh, your artistry ensures people will remember it for just as long.”
Kaveh leaned closer to you, his eyes softening. “You always know how to make everything sound so balanced.” He paused, a teasing smirk creeping onto his face. “But let’s be honest, you’re on my side, right?”
Ratio finally turned his attention from the archway, crossing his arms and raising an eyebrow. “Don’t put them in the middle of this.”
You laughed, leaning back against the cushions. “I’m on our side. I’m just saying that both of your strengths work best when you complement each other.”
Kaveh tilted his head, his expression shifting to something more thoughtful. “You know, they’re right. As much as it pains me to admit it, your critiques do push me to do better, Ratio.”
Ratio’s lips curved into a faint smile. “And your emotional investment reminds me why these creations matter in the first place.”
It wasn’t often that the two of them shared such open affection, and it made your chest warm to see them acknowledge their similarities. Kaveh’s idealism and Ratio’s determination were two sides of the same coin—both driven by a deep passion for bettering the world in their own way.
As the night wore on, the three of you found yourselves huddled together, sharing quiet laughter and whispered musings about dreams and ambitions. Kaveh’s head rested on your shoulder, his golden hair soft against your cheek. Ratio sat on your other side, his arm draped over the back of the cushions, fingers brushing yours in a rare display of vulnerability.
You spoke softly, your words cutting through the gentle hum of the night. “The two of you are more alike than you realize. You both care deeply about leaving the world better than you found it—Kaveh with beauty, Ratio with knowledge.”
Kaveh chuckled, his voice low and warm. “And you, dearest, hold us together when we’d otherwise tear ourselves apart.”
Ratio’s hand briefly tightened over yours. “It’s true. Without you, I doubt either of us would have found the balance we needed.”
In that moment, the harmony between the three of you felt unshakable. As Kaveh drifted into a soft slumber against you, Ratio leaned closer, his steady gaze meeting yours.
“Thank you,” he murmured. “For understanding us.”
You smiled, squeezing his hand gently. “Always.”
The moonlit terrace seemed to shimmer with the quiet promise of a future where the three of you—so different, yet so deeply connected—would continue to build something extraordinary together.

Space Anchor Theory (3.0 HSR spoilers)
reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/HonkaiStarRail/comments/1i26c8f/space_anchors_a_full_theory_30_spoilers/
barring the fact that now i can say "I was right!" (Here is my old post- partway in is my space anchor theory summarized: https://www.reddit.com/r/HonkaiStarRail/comments/153ftnd/comment/m2yfxu4/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button )
So how do space anchors work? Let me do my best to explain. A little, anyways.
What is a Space Anchor?
As Dan Heng says, it's a mark of the Trailblaze. Like our abilities to acclimate to harsh climates and stay awake for long periods of time with boundless energy, space anchors are how we "trailblaze', or set up contact points.
These are set at different intervals during our travels., depending on need. They also act as a way to help the Nameless communicate with the Express according to the 3.0 story. See below for more on the WIfi theory.
Tumblr media
How is it placed?
In this cutscene, we can see the MC holding out his hand and a space anchor unfolds.
This is assumingly how we canonically place these. If we get near, they also activate. Simple as that. And presuming locals can't change this. I'm guessing they also "burn out" over time like torches.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
How does it work and who can use it?
The space anchors are handled by the Nameless, and it's highly likely they need to be placed/activated by a Nameless to work properly.
They probably act like teleport waypoints in Genshin. The Nameless can use them to get around fast and if there's enough power they can use it to "hop" around.
Other people, such as the researchers on the HSS, are most likely able to use it for minor things such as healing or, as I mentioned above and more likely to be the case, as a type of Wi-Fi signal. Potentially, since some of them are Nameless or former Nameless, they may potentially be able to use them to also move around the station. quickly.
It's also likely that if you are a Trailblazer you have to actually encounter the waypoint before being able to use it more freely.
Also this is the most likely way how trailblaze power is gained- new space anchors = land "explored" = express fuel
The wifi theory
I've mentioned these anchors' main function is communication with the Express.
A quest in the HSS has a researcher ask us to activate a space anchor. This is a time when systems on the station are down so activating a space anchor could be a way to help restore some communications. I haven't seen the quest in a while so I probably missed anything else that was mentioned, so let me know if I did.
On Amphoreus, Dan Heng mentions we can use these to communicate with the Express once enough are down and our traincar is gone (rip). Considering our attachments to people like Herta and Asta and the IPC uses the "holes" the Trailblaze pokes through when trailblazing, we can probably assume they can also be used as a type of signal generator. Like portable Wi-Fi.
TLDR: space anchors = portable wifi for all and a way to contact the outside world. Hmm maybe don't tell Aglaea that her people can now text IPC DoorDash.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
Space anchors for the Nameless make "power" for the Express and give us a way to get around. Or at least mark where we've been.
Space anchors for everyone else act as giant routers they can't move. Good luck explaining this one, Aglaea and Phainon.
Thank you hoyo writers for finally confirming what I had suspected for a long time. Let me know if I missed something. This was just a quick dive into it anyways I'm off to go grind for Lingsha some more.

The Propagation - Glamoth pipeline has been sitting in my head for a hot minute. Mainly, how I pictured where exactly did Ruan Mei get the inspiration for such research from. While that in itself could be a coincidence, I believe the connecting thread itself of what inspired this creation began during the Swarm invasions, mainly, when you had things like this happening.
Tumblr media
Where living beings, seemingly human and otherwise could actively be transformed into the Swarm, there's a thread of connectivity.
So that really made me sit and ponder here for a second. If this is very well possible, then how could I actively discern it? In my head, I think it's a matter of perspective, and we actually do have that from a SAM and a Propagation insect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's more examples I could pluck up but I digress. This right here caught my attention in the update, primarily, how Glamoth's answer to the Swarm would be the experiments with Empress Titania, leading to the test tube lives of the Glamoth's Iron Calvary. The usage of not only DNA in order to pass on power, but to hold a unified hivemind. The Titania's dream was the connector to all the soldiers of the Iron Calvary, allowing orders to be directed, for the cardinal rules to be followed while their mortal forms I imagine were hailed from her, leading to the wealth of experience carried from two fronts. It's also why I believe that the soldiers can't dream imaginatively, as it's become a genuine doorway to their collective unconscious.
Now I could just picture this as a coincidence, but, it's when we lead towards Ruan Mei's experiments
Tumblr media
Through aspects involving Path power, Information (in the HSR sense) and data, this process in itself can either create the genuine swarm articles with her remixes, or in the case of Glamoth's usage, find a way to recreate an original power and have it passed on through 'offspring' aka the Iron Calvary soldiers. I believe the Propagation in particular is required for this, as it enhances I picture that it enhances the same DNA, abilities and that soul-like connection to be carried along.
I don't see the same 1 for 1 being as easily execution via the Abundance Path.
All this to say that I don't think they're 1 for 1, but the atrocities of the Swarm Disaster has given to light some pretty chilling possibilities, and the parallels I've come to see between the Empire and the Swarm are a touch too difficult for me to ignore, so I want to see if this spin can lead somewhere if this story aspect gets touched on more in the future.
And to think this all spawned just cause the codename of 'Fireflies' and this particular term of world from Firefly's lc.

Not to mention these excerpts.

Lots of us used to hang out in malls. Of course, malls have had their own problems. Perhaps they wouldn't have looked so abandoned/spooky/unattractive to adults spending money if some of those malls had simply accepted that kids would be there and cater to their parents desire to have some sanity recuperation time. A dead Sears is a great place for an urban zombie paintball/laser tag arena. Those giant atriums are a great place for climbing walls. The food court could sell ready to eat food and even offer cooking classes to every teen that was never even shown how to boil water for ramen noodles.
Malls full of people, even kids, don't look abandoned and wouldn't have been abandoned as quickly.

— cw: making out, steaminess, jealousy, tooth-decaying romance, terms of endearment
Tumblr media
He takes you with him to a gala to celebrate the opening of a new museum.
It’s a little overwhelming, showing up on his arm like this. Everyone’s attention has been on you since you stepped inside the venue. There’s no clear-cut title to your relationship. But he doesn’t correct the other guests when they address you as his lady.
You’re not used to the attention. The whispers of how refreshing it is to see him with someone after years of bachelorhood. They talk about who you could be. A model, an actress, a singer. Talk about how you could’ve come to be his girl. The handsome, seemingly cold, and stoic business mogul smiling boyishly with you on his arm. No one’s ever seen him glow like this. You should be so lucky.
It’s flattering, their gossip, but it’s getting to you along with the champagne bubbling in your stomach. You slip out of the banquet hall for some fresh air. Truthfully, you plan to escape to your room upstairs to take off your dress and recharge. You don’t belong amongst these people, and it shows. You stick out like a sore thumb.
You saw him chatting up a beautiful, statuesque woman on your way out. She kept touching his arm, smiling all pretty, giggling bewitchingly. He wasn’t doing much to stave off her physical display of affection. Must’ve been an old fling. How could you possibly compete with that?
You step into the elevator, heaving a sigh. Suddenly, a large hand slips between the doors, halting them from closing. He eases in beside you, a furrow between his brows as he watches you in your periphery.
“Were you not enjoying yourself?” he asks, breaking up the tense silence that befalls you as the elevator lazily drags itself between the floors.
You fiddle with your necklace, a nervous chuckle in your throat. “No, no, I was. I just…”
He suddenly spills over you. Blots out the bright lights overhead, filling your vision with only him. He perches his palms on either side of your waist on the rail behind you. Exudes a dizzying warmth and heady scent that makes you feel more inebriated than the bubbly you consumed.
For a moment, you forget how to breathe. You swallow against the dryness in your throat, squished up against the elevator wall. He quirks a brow, wordlessly encouraging you to continue. Studies your face with scarlet eyes smoldering like burning coals, fully aware of his effect on you.
“I—”
“You?”
You stiffen when his fingertips graze your cheek. He sweeps some hair behind your ear, watching your mouth quiver as you struggle to form words. Your gaze falls to his lips. You’ve kissed before. Though there’s no definitive title to your relationship, it stretches beyond that of interviewer and interviewee. Ambitious journalist and prodigious business mogul. Beyond mere acquaintances or friends.
He’s made it glaringly obvious that he likes you. He’s showered you with gifts and his time. Whispered the sweetest words to you, held you close. It would be nothing to kiss him now. To lay claim to him, spiting the pretty woman who’d been throwing herself at him earlier.
You’re not usually one to initiate. But you call up some courage, fingers wrapping around the lapels of his tuxedo jacket. He blinks at you, a little perturbed, lips slightly parted. You pull him to your height to kiss him, trapping a sound of protest in his throat.
He melts against you, the kiss evolving into something more heated as he anchors you to the wall with his body. His hands find yours, trapping them overhead, fingers tightly wound together.
He ravages your mouth. Leaves no part of it untouched by his tongue, drawling pretty mewls from you. He groans in response, addicted to the way you taste. To how you feel, so small and pliant against him. How you sound, sighing all content and gasping for air each time your mouths part.
The elevator dings, signaling it’s reached its destination. You’d forgotten you were onboard, lost in the feel of Sylus’ mouth moving against yours. He breaks away reluctantly, desire burning beneath his irises. He studies you for a beat before pulling you out of the elevator. You toddle behind him like a fawn, your heels too tall, legs feeling like jelly.
You vibrate with anticipation as he drags you to your room door. Pushes you up against it, swooping in for another taste of your lips, hand at the crook of your knee, bringing your thigh up to his hip. He swipes your keycard whilst your hands frame his face, and you’re kissing a little more desperately now. Stumbling back, shoved up against the door’s other side once inside your room.
His hands roam up and down your sides. He notches himself up against you, knee nestled between your thighs. You moan as he pulls away from your mouth, blistering your neck with kisses leading to your collarbones. Instinctively, your fingers find his hair, mussing up his pretty, white coiffure.
His phone rings in his pocket, the sound jarring amid your labored breaths and the rustling of fabric. He tries to ignore it, busy nipping at the junction of your shoulder, palms roving over the plush of your thighs, your hips. Whoever’s calling must have a vendetta against you because they don’t let up.
With an irritated sigh, he draws away from you. Still strokes over your skin, his cell held between his ear and shoulder as he grates a harsh “What” into the mic.
You stifle a chuckle. He looks so cute like this, lips kiss-swollen and smudged from your lipstick. Cheeks flushed, mottled red. His hair is slightly askew, the collar of his dress shirt wrinkled, and his bowtie loosened. He watches you with a crease to his eyes, cupping your cheek while his thumb teases your bottom lip.
You chase the feel of it, locking eyes as you nip at his fingerpad. His gaze darkens. He wants to kiss you again, but whatever’s taking place on his phone seems to be holding him back.
“On my way,” he sighs, shoving his phone back into his pocket. He inches in for a kiss, this one chaste and guiltless. Fingers smoothing back your hair, he breathes into the space between your mouths, “Forgot I had a speech to give.”
You pout, knowing where this is going, tugging on his jacket like a clingy toddler. “You leaving me?”
He chuckles, the faintest smile canting his lips beneath the low light of the hotel room’s entryway. “Only for a little while. I’ll come back for you, sweetheart.” He presses himself fully between your thighs, the seam of his trousers delightfully grazing your inner thigh. “Promise.”
You brush your noses together, lids lowered. “Okay,” you drunkenly nod, ghosting your lips over his.
“Wait for me?” It’s more of a request than a question, but you agree. You’ll always wait for him.
After kissing you one final time, he peels himself away, straightening his tie and smoothing out the wrinkles in his tux. You watch him from the slit of your door with a smile before closing it, propping yourself up against it, and sliding down.
With a dreamy sigh in your lungs, you’re a giddy mess as you fling yourself onto your bouncy mattress, kicking and squealing into the pillows like an enamored teen.
