Hit the nail on the coffin here. Thom Yorke himself even explains what it's about. It revolves around Thom, who supposedly followed an unrequited crush, feeling undeserving of their love because they're seen as "special" or "just like an angel” He feels like a "creep" and a "weirdo," inadequate and unworthy of that person. It's as if he believes he doesn't deserve them.

There's a story that a girl attended a Radiohead concert, and one of Thom Yorke's band members (guitarist, Jonny Greenwood) mentioned how Thom was mortified by her presence. That he felt shaken up. This song isn't about entitlement for a woman's attention and love, it's not about being a full-blown misogynist. His lyrics explain what he was feeling for this girl during that time. It's not about the rage one has for women, it's about the rage/hatred for oneself. It's about the appreciation of a person's beauty and the feelings we might get when we see this special someone.

However, this song holds significant meaning for many other people as well. What I find amusing is that Thom Yorke supposedly dislikes this song. Perhaps it is because it was overplayed and became more of a commercial success than something personally enjoyable. It became a tiresome and worn-out song, even though it was their only major hit, and they were constantly associated with it.

Another aspect is that Thom has mentioned he's no longer in that mindset, which is why they don't perform the song anymore. It imposed creative limitations and, although it brought them financial success, they wanted to explore more and be recognized for their other great songs.

Nonetheless, it's still a good song, especially considering how its lyrics can hold different meanings throughout a person's life. For me, it carried a lot of weight during rough periods when I needed something melancholic to express my emotions. I can really relate to that sense of not feeling adequate for oneself or others, as well as the feeling of not belonging or feeling like an outcast. While I'm in a much better place now, I still find myself listening to Radiohead every now and then.

I do get it though, not a lot of people are fans of Radiohead and their music, and that's completely A-okay. You're going to have people who completely shit on things and ravage it through and through compared to the next person who wants to enjoy it for the sake of enjoying it.

the fucked up thing is how "Creep" by Radiohead will really get your ass if you hear it at the wrong time. that shit can be stupid and overdramatic or it can have the weight of an atomic bomb dropped on your heart it just depends

i think it'd be neat to have a shirt with the lyrics to radiohead's creep, "i want a perfect body... i want a perfect soul <3" but without the capybara on it. and i'd wear it on my runs and during my workouts
