And if you voted exclusively for him, do you think you would have voted differently if "the Jury fucking over anything that isn't radiofriendly mainstream music" wasn't a very likely possibility?

Sad Pilot - i cannot wait for the studio version of this. so much of the next album has been played on the european leg of the tour and it sounds so good. such a good sound and i wont be surprised if this next album places in my top 5 gizz albums

Hi, I totally agree with you. HL don’t need any beards to promote their art, they are themselves more than enough for it. I think they have been brainwashed in their early career that beards benefit them and they have to focus on their sexlife during the promo. It’s 2023 and their pr tactics are outdated. look at capaldi, just being himself and funny, posting some memes and lovely stories, how many guys genuinely love him and gp doesn’t care about his sexlife. Louis just needs to open up more, and he is so sweet and funny, people will love him, his laddy lad image is not appealing to anyone. And it’s sad that some larries think that bearding is necessary. Louis can stay in the closet and still be single, he always can choose himself what he wants to share with us, just some cute content (dogs, sports, food, travelling, whatever) and yes to celebrity friendships!!

It all sounds so easy and simple right? So why don't they? You say that they've been brainwashed from the beginning. They might have been. I just feel like there must be more too it.

You're comparing Louis to Lewis Capaldi, but Lewis is making mainstream radiofriendly music and is selling buckets. He's also got a killer voice, is dead funny, and is open, vulnerable and honest. Louis has chosen a more difficult route, doing a type of music that not everyone is going to love and banking on a laddy image to sell it. He's also got heavy baggage, plenty of secrets to keep and not many friends in the industry. I don't know if this route is by choice. I don't see him progressing career wise just keeping on like this. He needs to balance his need to do what he wants to do, with the needs of his label and fans. I think his label demands profits, and if he can't achieve that, he needs to go along with their PR ploys. His fans demands a full show for their ticket. And he's failed to do so of late (cancelling all of the Asia part of tour and not singing his full setlist for different reasons).

Social media content would be a simple way to increase engagement. We know Louis can be good at it (from the 1D days), but i just feel like he's over it (or maybe it's not chavy enough...). It must be hard to do and say the right things online when you have so many secrets to keep. These days he can't even get a single tweet right, without getting critisism from his own fans (including myself). It's a bit damned if you do, and damned if you don’t type of situation.

But at some point he'll need more exposure and engagement for his ends to meet. I'm curious to see how he's going to go about it.

SYCOMORE - Nectar CD. Chronique

J'ai vu ce groupe en concert au Tyrant fest en octobre 2024, et j'ai trouvé ça cool. Leur style dénotait un peu au milieu d'un certain nombre de groupes de black metal plus sombres les uns que les autres, mais c'est tant mieux: Je n'avais pas prévu de ressortir avec un tatouage gothique intégral. Alors, le style de SYCOMORE qui viennent d'Amiens est assez éclectique, comme une sorte de salade de fruits ou chaque ingrédient sucré a été remplacé par un genre de musique: Du post hardcore, du sludge, du post metal, un peu de stoner, et quelques autres influs tournant autour du "métal extrême" ou parfois du "rock énervé". Les morceaux sont pas mal foutus, l'ensemble coulisse bien… Et y'a quelques titres auxquels j'accroche plus (Comme celui à la fin, désabusé et planant un peu dans le style Godflesh). Dans l'esprit je les trouve assez proches des sorties Relapse records d'une époque (Fin années 90 à 2010 disons). Perso j'aurais aimé qu'ils jouent plus sur les influs stoner/ fumette pour créer une sorte de contraste avec le reste… Mais je m'aperçois qu'ils ne s'appellent pas SOILENT GREEN (Checkez les vieux albums, vous lecteurs unijambistes) et qu'ils ne doivent pas composer du "noise" à la commande :) Donc, le style du groupe est assez varié, on peut passer de riffs bien gras sur corde flottante, à des parties plus rythmées et "core", à des atmosphères plus aériennes et torturées, ou des accélérations blastbeats assez imprévues… Avec quelques bricolages ici et là. Les compos ne sont pas forcément en format radiofriendly couplet/ pont/ refrain, c'est cool ça change, mais ils ne tombent pas non plus dans l'excès du très complexe ou jazzcore difficile à écouter (Tant mieux pour mon cerveau). Voilà, pour ceux qui aiment différents styles de musique proches du metal (ou du hardcore) assez "extrêmes" et plutôt modernes, qui changent un peu/ pas mal des habitudes, SYCOMORE ça pourrait le faire. SICKO-MORE!
