kendrick himself alluded to allegedly having an abusive relationship with his wife. he doesn't go into details, so it's possible he doesn't mean physically, while drake is accusing it of being physical.

here's the thing. (for me, at least.) drake vastly fucking misinterpreted "Mother I Sober" so much so that he put the worst bars i've ever heard in his most recent diss saying that Kendrick was sexually assaulted as a child. AS. A. DISS. like, Kendrick himself said he wasn't and Drake not only didn't comprehend the lyrics, but also made fun of Kendrick's so called trauma. like. the fuck? it wouldn't be a big leap to assume he misinterpreted the rest of Kendrick's lyrics - willfully or not.

again, on his album Mr. Morale, Kendrick is connecting a lot of his behaviour to - but not excusing it with - his childhood trauma. a generational curse. iirc he also pretty much says he's seeking help (which is encouraged by his wife pretty openly, seeing as she features on several songs in the album)

on whitley a criticism I have seen well a response to it is up till him calling klein he hasnt shown anything that differentiated him from jacques with him mocking weiss and he didnt show any care for klein who practically raised him.when he brought up how he lost his job to weiss while weiss was upset

there's definitely quite a few rebuttals for the criticisms brought up here & the main one is the mentality whitley has when we're introduced to him. we take him from weiss's view point because she's our way into this world, she's the protagonist but remember that in canon: whitley is incredibly neglected. far more so than weiss ever was, this boy was the spare to the spare & eventually just left to his own devices. willow was a confirmed drunk by time he was in toddlerhood & jacques had all his focus on making sure weiss didn't follow in her sister's footsteps & bolt.

weiss is not a good person in whitley's story, neither is klein. klein rolls his eyes when he talks about whitley with weiss & they laugh meanly together about him when he's at worst: a bratty, very lonely teenager. meanwhile weiss at barely a few years older than him was racially abusing faunus & excusing her family's actions.

there's also no evidence that klein "basically" raised him, beyond the given duties as a butler which likely wasn't much. the above paragraph lends to the idea that he didn't raise whitley as much as he had an involvement in weiss's life.

whitley also mirrors jacques in the most basic, surface levels as a trauma response: he mimics a style of dress & doesn't like his sister. but when we're shown deeper to whitley's character, beyond outside of weiss's pov, we can see that jacques scares him & he remains quiet & subservient around him to avoid the reprisals he's clearly seen others around jacques get, including firing klein & locking weiss away. then when we're allowed to dig even deeper, we see that altruistic side to whitley where he actually takes the action to protect mantle that weiss can't be bothered to do. he's the one who does the heavy lifting & he's the one making those decisions when the grown ass adults around him freeze.

whitley's worst crime in this fndm has always been being mean to weiss while ignoring the context of his attitude towards her & that he doesn't owe weiss a good relationship when he's the younger one & she has the power in their dynamic. so much so that she can publicly humiliate him, berate him in front of her friends, send him to his room like a child & point a loaded military grade weapon in his face with not even a glance from anyone else around them. weiss makes whitley unsafe the same way that jacques & willow made him unsafe.

the way it's always sunny has always been recommended to me (from white ppl ofc... keep this in mind) constantly is not surprising to me anymore because what do you mean the first episode is called "the gang gets racist".....

there's always a fair point to be made about people becoming fans of something from a country or culture they don't belong to and then being entitled and not understanding different little cultural contexts and it's always good to think about that and keep that in mind when you're in that position and yeah! You should try to learn and listen when you're the fish out of water! but it will never stop being bizarre to me when i see people just totally towing the line on bizarre shitty ideals because supposedly that's just whats normal in X place, okay? like yes I do enjoy a lot of Asian dramas, no I don't think it's okay to act like an actor having a drug problem or even just. yk. smoking weed for fun is a disgusting and heinous person? I don't think they should have their careers wrecked? Yes, a lot of countries have deeply entrenched colourism but that doesn't mean I'll shrug off a pop star saying dark skin is ugly or wrong because I fuckin well care about all the people who have dark skin hearing that bullshit? like yeah cultural ideals exist but sometimes they're WRONG. and BAD.
