sorry for a big post but i just found those again recently
huge throwback to these little things i did while bored out of my mind between calls on my tech support job i had in 2017 🌞 the phrases are whatever i could think of at the moment, from phrases i heard on calls to what i saw in google search to personal observations...
i did these with a mouse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have not been able to replicate this style since. it will forever stay there, on that imac with that weird apple mouse and a random art app i downloaded that they later locked me out of bcs u know ur not supposed to download third party apps on work computers but i was also not allowed to have paper like what are yououuuu expecting me to do GOD i hated that place they made me work for 6 days in a row then ONE (1) ☝ day off and then SIX MORE DAYS AGAIN with sometimes less than 12 hours between shifts but i was young and stupid and didnt complain. this went on longer than i thought it would.
I was also (unsurprisingly) sososososososo depressed and this song was a big comfort (and hey, its an english one for once!)

HIIII what brushes do u use……
HI ANON sorry for the ridiculously late reply 🙇!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
left: My favorite pen type brush for sketching/inking are the emilyamiao procreate brushes. they have a bit of texture and a nice flow so theyre great for stabbing out ideas. wet inky is a bit flat in shape and its better for inking imo.
right: painting brush used here is the default procreate brush eaglehawk, under the drawing section, and the lineart brush is fountain pen ❤️ (quote unquote) from I believe jingsketched's brush set??? the variation in line weight is nice but its a little what i would call "gritty" so it doesn't flow as well.
Tumblr media
recently also very based and syruppilled. another procreate default brush under inking! lots of line variation, a triangular-ish shape, and no anti-aliasing. also good for painting LOL
Tumblr media Tumblr media
left: 6b pencil (procreate default brush, under sketching) is great for sketching/lining depending on the feel and if you tilt ur pen to the side it makes a nice big grainy smudge which I like to use to indicate form shadow sometimes. i also made a modified version (see above) with the count turned way up and the scatter turned down iirc. if i remember later ill reblog with a brushpack file or something XD
right: vine charcoal 3 and 4 from kyles dry media set in photoshop. 3 is kinda blotchier and i mostly rlly use it for effect. 4 is this kind of soft triangular/rhomboidal brush that i use for quick sketches sometimes
TBHH it depends a lot on the style/feel of the drawing im going for/just the general mood so there's a few drawings where I probably just whipped something out of a random brushpack LMFAO but I tend to prefer flowier/harder brushes with a bit of size variation/jitter and an imperfectly round shape! ymmv.

have to be real & honest w u….they post who gets the highest grade in each class & this one girl got the highest grade in our writing class both semesters and i had peer reviewed her one assignment last semester like our big assignment & i do not get it……like if my professor wants me to write like that i do not want an A 😶 she had like 30 cases she cited and would write like a single sentence on each case or just like a parenthetical her writing was so hard to read bc she put way too much info i’m like how is she getting an A w that. like i was peer reviewing it w another girl & she was also like u use too many cases i’m mot crazy 😭 and like even my dean’s fellows were like u should find 3 or 4 good cases to use i guess this is why my professor did not enjoy my legal writing bc i didn’t use 20 cases 😔 sorry i 1. don’t have the will for that and 2. try to make my writing comprehensible. guess that is not what they want in law school 😩
#michelle speaks#i did not like my writing professor idk if she was the issue or what bc the program itself was not good#but her feedback was sooooo unhelpful. she’d be like this is fine :) and then when she’d grade u be like this is completely wrong#like ma’am? must i read ur mind? anyway this just annoyed me bc i’m like THAT is ur standard of great writing???#but also i’m ngl the way they structured these assignments & everything just did not go w my adhd brain some things r really hard for me to#like grasp how i’m supposed to do & structure them bc my brain works a certain way & it is just incompatible#i feel like maybe if i had a better professor i would have gotten it bc i need things spelled out for me in that case#but it’s not really an issue ultimately bc doing actual legal work is more lax than what they expect from u in class#but like i really do not see how i got the grade i did on my last assignment i worked so hard on that & based on her feedback i thought it#was actually good this time like i actually put effort into making it good (big deal for me) 😭#so i’m like how did i get the same grade i have gotten on everything else 😑 like i think she just hates how i write#ableism at its finest 😔 hate the way the girl w adhd writes i see how it is. some of us cannot help how our brains work 😔 (joke)#actually had the same issue on my crim law final bc my professor wanted the answers structured a particular way#& when i sat down to do it i was like i cannot do that lmfao. brain does not work like that sorry!!!!
