The Spine - has a lot of pictures and videos, his outfit and makeup are pretty simple and consistent, also you don't have to worry about hair. Perfect target, 5/5

Rabbit - i love Rabbit as much as the next guy but BOY does she change her style often. it's pretty hard to get good shots of certain designs, however this allows some creative freedom. she also has different hairstyles/headpieces that could be a bit problematic to recreate. 3/5 because i'd be scared that i would mess her up(sorry Rabbit :( )

The Jon - nice and simple outfit, straightforward make up, lots of photos and videos to see full silhouette. -1 point for hair (really pretty but again, might cause some problems as it is with rabbit). 4/5

Upgrade - her makeup consists of mainly straight lines and dots so we're good here. not-so complicated outfit and pretty good hair & hat combo so it's possible to do it justice. the only downside: there's not as much references with her as with other bots, so it might be hard to find the exact photo you need. 4/5

Hatchworth - already did that >:3. good references, nice makeup, no hair problems with bonus mustache. outfit's a bit complicated, but still had a lot of fun doing it, 5/5 expirience (4/5 on the 'how easy' scale)

Zer0 - good references, amazing hair and pretty stylish outfit that would be fun to make. his makeup is a bit more on a complicated side with different colors and asymmetry, but otherwise it's all good. 4,5/5

Hall of Wires

Spine x Oc

The Hall of Wires is known for a lot of reasons. Some call it spooky and downright refuse to go anywhere near it, even taking entire flights of stairs just to not have to walk past the closed door.

Others claim it is Walter Manor's brain, as if the house had a mind of it's own, powered by some matter core in the basement or something.

For the automatons though, it was simply the place where you'd find The Spine if he wasn't anywhere in immediate sight. The Spine liked to disconnect his head from his chassis and hang around the maze of wires in his snake form as a way to relax and recuperate from the energy the other people in the house had.

That's why it didn't even remotely strike Atlas as weird when he entered the room, closing the door quietly, that The Spine's headless chassis was standing in perfect form by the opposite wall. While he does know The Spine can disconnect from his body, he's never really seen it with his own eyes, so he pries his attention away from the chassis and up to the wires, weaving and spooling all along the ceiling.

"Hello Atlas," a voice says behind him, making him jerk in fright before turning around. Thankfully, it's just Qwerty being their usual self. "The Spine is expecting you, I'll call him down," they say before their screen pulls up and disappears into the hord of wiring again. He only lets himself wonder for a short moment how the two of them navigate this mess of spiderwebbed wires before something twitched in his peripheral and he turned to face it.

Spine hung from a thick wire that was lowering towards the floor, snake body wrapped around it for support. "Howdy darling," he says happily as Atlas steps closer.

"Evening dear," Atlas greets back, gently taking hold of The Spine's chin and placing a quick, soft kiss on his lips. The Spine kissed back and smiled.

"Are you sure you're okay to spend the night in here?" The Spine asks, just double checking while another three thick wires moved down from the ceiling, weaving and looping to form something like a swing.

"I wouldn't have agreed if I wasn't sure," Atlas answered, taking the proximity of the wire swing as an invitation to sit down on it. He's careful and slow to put his whole weight on them, but does still find himself surprised when his feet leave the ground and he doesn't immediately return to it.

The Spine smiles gently as the wires lift both of them up into the mass of other wires in the air. Atlas soon learned that the ceiling was far higher than he thought initially and there was a lot of room for movement among the wires.

The wires stop moving once they reach a certain height. What appears to be a hammock made from weaved wiring is there and seems oddly comfortable. Spine moves off the wire he's been holding onto and slithers into the hammock.

Atlas carefully tests the weight capacity of the hammock before he puts his whole weight onto it. It gives way slightly, but not enough to be worrisome. The Spine gives him a patient smile, letting Atlas take things at his own pace.

Once Atlas moves to the center of the wire hammock, he sits down, getting comfortable among the humming and general noise that permeates the Hall of Wires. The Spine slithers over once Atlas had settled and moved up to rest on Atlas' shoulders, making himself comfortable as well.

They spent the next couple hours just relaxing and talking about anything and everything, until eventually they both drifted into stasis together. Atlas would never admit it, but that was the best sleep he'd gotten since his creation.

Steam powered giraffe propaganda time because i can so:

They are a band of steampunk robots. And a couple of months ago they celebrated their 15-year anniversary. They do a lot of different genres with their songs. For example, honeybee is slow and rips your heart out whenever you listen to it. Then you have fart patrol which is goofy and you can't help but smile. And there's the band lore. 

A guy called Peter A Walter built them in 1896 to impress this girl called Delilah Morreo

Who then died then got brought back as a vampire by the other guy trying to impress her

Then she killed the other guy and found a way to fix her being a vampire and became a wraith. 

(It is worth also mentioning that she is canonically a lesbian)

Other lore facts include

They are canonically war veterans and pretty much all of them have fought in multiple wars

The Beatles opened for them at one point

The robots run on QWERTY "The first truly intelligent computing device for the home of 1999"

Ok time for character facts

First up Rabbit (Played by Isabella Bunny Bennett)

She changes her appearance so much that it is hard to keep track sometimes

Was in love with a toaster her name was Jenny (Jenny got dropped 8 minutes after she was bought and Rabbit didn't have the warranty)

In a couple of the iterations of her costume, she has worn up to 6 belts

Next The Spine (Played by David Michael Bennett) (Probably worth noting that Isabella and David are twins)

He has a titanium alloy spine that's his backstory

He can detach his spine from his chassis 

He loves the wild west and cowboys

He has the brain cell (always)

Zer0 (Played by Bryan Barbarin)

Zer0 was built out of three incomplete systems

He was left in a basement for nearly 100 years 

Has his own cereal brand called ZER-0'S

Hachworth (Played by Sam Luke)

He has a moustache (That's all you need to know about him)

The Jon (Played by Jonathan Sprague)

The Jon is powered by crystal pepsi

He apparently has no brain, and inside his chassis is a void in which several hot dogs and a koi fish float around.

He has a cowboy mode

And last but not least Upgrade (Played by Erin Burke)

She has not received an upgrade since 1996

She left the band in 2011 to become a princess

Her existence was erased from the lore when she left the band then she got retconned back into the lore (I don't know when exactly but around the time of the band's 10th anniversary)

Questions (and answers) that I used to make Tinker

Wow, finally some canon information. (Under cut). This could be edited at any time, but for now it's canon yay. Except it's just answered questions... so... Uhm, yeah.

Where were they born? Walter Manor, 1895

What were their childhood experiences like? He remembers only a few things about his “childhood” after his memories were corrupted and lost after being updated to QWERTY software when he was discovered, but most of the experiences we’re overwhelmingly traumatic such as being abandoned for more than 100 years in a bunker and having his core shattered and mixed with the wrong matter type.

What significant events have shaped their life? Most of the memories stated above shaped him but also the fact that he is powered by a wind-up mechanism where every time it clicks it adds another 10 minutes to his time functioning (in actual acts he will break down randomly to be wound-up by a Walter Worker or nearby bot.

What does your character want? To be seen as an equal and loving individual, capable of great things despite his malfunctions.

Strengths (Physical, mental, emotional) Good at comforting, resilient, can self-reconstruct if taken apart due to strong magnets in his joints, intense loyalty, good with children and animals (as well as adults, but mostly teens and kids)

Weaknesses (Physical, mental, emotional) Self-doubt, irritable, frequent trauma flashbacks if he’s in the wrong place, has to force remorse, needs to be wound-up to function, fear of abandonment, unspecified tics

Are they introverted or extroverted? Ambivert/Depends on the situation

Shy or outgoing? Kind or selfish? Outgoing, kind

What are their relationships like with family, Extremely friendly and a bit overwhelmingly affectionate with his robot siblings, he feels in debt to VI in a way and always makes him gifts and food despite VI saying he doesn’t have to

Friends, He’s extremely loyal and will do almost anything if he thinks it’s in a friends best interest (and his)

And enemies? He lives by “keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer”, he tries to know everything about his enemies and wants to be able to verbally attack them if needed

What inner struggles does your character face? He has a fear of abandonment due to being left in Walter Manor’s old bomb shelter until only a couple years after the band was started and he was discovered by VI.

How are they around new people?

He’s pretty friendly and ready for anything when meeting someone but actively looks for red flags so that he can get out if he needs to.

Do they speak in an accent?

He speaks in an American accent with a slight English twang.

Have they tried learning a new language?

He’s fluent in bird calls.

How many languages do they know?

Three, English, bird calls, and a bit of Spanish.

What is a song that will always make them cry?

How do they cry? heaving? silently? sobbing?

Heaving or sobbing, he cries loudly and shakes and goes full on mental breakdown. He only cries silently when he’s holding back tears.

What is the first thing they notice about a stranger?

Eye color and face shape, he analyzes a lot of things, though, as he wants to remember everyone.

What is their humor like?

His humor is a little blunt but he also makes silly puns, lighthearted jokes, and tries to hint at dark humor at times, not getting too deep into that, though

Who would they quote?

He frequently displays signs of echolalia and quotes pretty much anything he’s interested in and his family.

What could make them change their mind?

Hardcore evidence and reliable sourcing. Our trusting someone way too much…

Who is the first person they'd call?

If in trouble, probably VI or Spine, but for a sleepover… Everyone.

How are they around animals?

He absolutely loves animals! Especially birds, his favorites are scarlet macaws and cockatoos!

What is something they've never told anyone?

I wouldn’t break my boy’s trust!

What are habits they've picked up from other people?

He frequently picks up speech patterns, nervous tics, and facial expressions, but he has mostly picked up Rabbit’s stature, nervous tics, and even a small stutter on the letter S.

What are their guilty pleasures?

Hair styling- He loves to braid and comb hair and play with color and shape and Rabbit is happy to volunteer.

What is something they're staunchly against?

Discriminating against someone’s differences!

Do they speak a certain way?

He doesn’t really speak “a certain way”, he just has some unusual speech patterns with echolalia, vocal tics, and a small stutter.

Can they fall in love?

He frequently falls in love, just not romantically. He’s platonically in love with most of his friends and alterously is in love with tons of things.

What would they rather die than do?

Hurt somebody the way he’s been hurt. 

What is their biggest mistake?

Not believing in himself and thinking Peter Walter I would come back for him.

His key can forcefully be turned so that he can’t move, but he’s extremely sensitive about it and only his close friends know about it as it’s associated with a lot of his trauma.

When his time runs out on his wind-up maneuver, he doesn’t “die”, he can still talk, think, see, and hear, just not move.

Was never actually built with a way to “turn-off”, he just gets… stuck. So yes, he remembers almost every year (the ones not deleted in the system transfer) stuck in the bomb shelter.

I made a timeline for my fanbot Sparky!

1650 BCE- A pirate airship flies out of a red portal and crashes in Egypt. The pilot, a woman who is not from this time, nor was she from the dimension the ship came from crawls out of the wreckage. She was the captain and she went down with the ship, but she did not die. Not yet. She follows a red glow to a cave, past the blue and green crystals to a deeper chamber where she finally died.

1895 CE- a vampire scientist named Doctor Carmilla finds the bones that have been exposed to Red Matter for so long and, still in the cave, attempts to build a body around the skeleton. She didn’t have the technique figured out completely yet, as she would not build Drumbot Brian for a while longer. Her clockwork heart was crafted well, and her mechanical lungs worked just as planned. But the power to her central processor was not strong enough, so while her chassis and skeleton could repair itself, she could barely think, and it took her a long time to move.

1897- tremors from giant clockwork elephants and a very big steam powered giraffe cause a cave in to the section of the cave she is in. Doctor Carmilla escapes but she is trapped inside.

1924- while looking for a new matter type to experiment with, Peter Walter II finds Sparky’s prototype left in the cave and brings her home to fix her up and repurpose her for a babysitter for his son, Mark Ray Walter, but avoids completely deleting her original programming through the use of a switch.

1935- While in M mode, Sparky almost kills someone. It is covered up and the family decides to keep her in W mode for a while.

1941- knowing that Sparky doesn’t like being left behind in the manor while her siblings are fighting WW II, the Walters send Sparky to a local summer camp to be a councilor and to give private lessons and babysit kids.

1942- A version of Sparky from the future arrives because she didn’t want to miss Peter Walter IV’s fifth birthday. She stays for a bit longer and has some strange and tragic stories from space but doesn’t talk much about how she encountered those stories as she wants to avoid “spoilers”

1947- Future Sparky leaves and present Sparky comes back from the Summer camps and various other teaching/babysitting jobs.

1983- Sparky is upgraded to the QWERTY operating system along with the other robots.

1986- Peter Walter VI is born and Sparky, still partially blaming her future self for the death of Peter Walter IV becomes protective of the child and doesn’t tell him her space stories that she heard secondhand from one of the people who met her future self.

1996- Peter Walter VI is taken out of school because of bullying and homeschooled with the help of Sparky, Annie, Wanda, and anyone else who has the time and knows a thing or two. Sparky’s educational protocols are updated with up to date academic content from 1-12th grade.

2006- Peter Walter VI wants to find out who originally created Sparky and lets her go in M mode for the first time in a while to try and figure it out. The clues lead to Doctor Carmilla and her band of mechanically enhanced space pirates.

2010- Sparky finds the band in London and starts a plan to alternate between spending time with the Mechanisms and with the Walter family. Sometimes due to time travel she will stay with the Mechanisms for 2,000 years and then come back 2 years before she left but she does her best to figure it out.

2023- Sparky arrives back at Walter Manor and catches up with the robots and people about everything she’s missed. The robots prank her by convincing her there was another robot that got built while she was gone named Ralph.

2024- Sparky attends the May 31st show to support her siblings. She brings a lollipop and three hand made and painted paper boats.

🦒- although most of her life is lead on entirely different continent, i'd love for her to have that chance. perhaps after being discovered she would be sent for a check-up from location to location - and who's better at fixing robots than famous Walter Robotics? but even then, it would probably be a brief meeting, as she's still pretty shy around people due to her speech issues. i think the one she'll warm up the quickest to would be QWERTY, who keeps an eye on everything in the mannor and could tell her what's going on :]

🤖 - this is a tough one! the aspect of human life she yearns for the most is being independent and able to speak for yourself, with your own words. she also wishes she had the ability to create something entirely of her own, not just a piece made from scraps of other people's music. on the other hand, she's aware of how messy and dangerous human life can get, and how short it is. looking back at people she met, she wishes they had this ability to simply repair broken parts of their bodies or souls, so they could extend their lives rather than pass away.

Giewont:

🎸 - because if their sharp fingers, there aren't that many instruments she can actually play! strings get cut, wood gets pierced and drumsticks slide out of their hands. she does however have a particular fondness for playing on glasses filled with water. she often wonderes if her body could produce those sounds as well

if they were to play an instrument, it would probably be a theremin, since you don't actually need to touch it to produce sounds :]
