Omg yessss!!! I’ve been looking through your asks and the Shumai thing is so real. The thing that makes me like that nickname as much as I do is specifically because it was created for the sole reason of pissing off Kaito. Without that context, the nickname just loses a lot of its flavor.
Anyway, I’m about to start reading Love Letter and I’m very excited! I live for anytime Tsumugi and Shuichi so much as look at each other. There’s so many fun ways you can play with their dynamic so I can’t wait to actually see what you do. Not to mention your immaculate saiou writing skills and the way you make your stories just go insane. It’s very entertaining and I adore it!
BE CAREFUL GOING INTO LOVE LETTER!!! That one gets pretty violent...! And it only gets worse from here @_@ Their dynamic is cute and silly for a total of two chapters before everything goes Bad. If you reeeeally like Tsumugi and don't want to see her do anything bad or insane Ever then I wouldn't recommend reading it x"D
Also, thank you!! ^.^ Writing romance is always the hardest part of writing anything of mine, so I'm glad you've enjoyed it ( ╹▽╹ ) (and don't get me wrong, I love saiouma!! I wouldn't write about it if I didn't. The problem was that I'm a demiromantic trying to write in the perspective of an alloromantic... which I am not doing for love letter. sorry shuichi you're on the aro spectrum now) And yes I am quite fond of descending into insanity in my stories. I barely see stuff like it in my very filtered Shuichi tag, much less longer multichapter fics!! So I thought, "well. might as well do it myself!" and five fics later we're here so I'd say that ended pretty well ^_^ whoops I am rambling
Anyway. You are SO right about the Shumai thing!! It's also just objectively funnier when it's used with the original context ;P it's also the fact that I don't think Kaito even knew who he was referring to at first LMAO. And Shuichi just?? Brushed it off??? Like I understand that someone died but cmon. thats hilarious

Yk I've compared Makoto to Izuru, but you know who he really reminds me of. Tsumugi. The chapter 5 fight when he's changing his masks makes me think of Tsumugi changing into her different danganronpa cosplays, how both their actions are from genuine love (Makoto's love for Kanai Ward, Tsumugi's love for Danganronpa)
The completely opposite ways they present themselves, Makoto acknowledging how suspicious he is while Tsumugi insists she's plainly a nobody
Makoto is like. Some of the best (underutilized) Danganronpa characters put into one and used brilliantly. I could go on for Quite Some Time comparing him to the likes of Makoto (Naegi), Izuru, Kiibo, and Tsumugi. Kokichi and Togami, even! I just. Love this fella sm

Mentioned this in tzmskz but given that the act 4 story trailer suggests we’re revisiting the original plays, I wonder if the new charas are meant to parallel the original leads/co-leads…
Okay hear me out:
Towa is a huge fan of Mankai and of Masumi in particular, and seems to be VERY enthusiastic in his love of both. Not a Tokyo native but wanted to come here for theater. Sounds kinda familiar, right?
Ibuki’s Gender Swag is apparent, like, there’s the Yuki, in addition to their “doing what you want is the best way to live!” thing. But also. They’re an established micro-celeb. Not quite on the same level as Japan’s Darling Tenma Sumeragi, but enough to be recognized!
Keiku’s Banri parallels are obvious, no passions and fills that void with fighting. But his favorite food is strawberry shortcake. Judging by the way he texts there’s definitely something underlying that tough demeanor. You see what I mean?
Kureha is the most interesting to me in terms of parallels, honestly; where Tsumugi was talented but unconfident, Kureha seems to be the opposite, UNFAILINGLY confident but often failing. But he’s still utterly adored by the people around him, kind of the way Tasuku was at Godza.
I dunno, maybe I’m grasping at straws here, but that’s the vibe I’m getting so far.

Now I'm curious about what Narumitsu things you go "he would not fucking say that" about :0 Alternatively go ahead and give out the Narumitsu/Tasutsumu thoughts >:3
HELP OKAY. These will both be sooo incoherent and will contains spoilers so I will put this all under a read more just in case.
I will admit that I haven’t read any Narumitsu fics in a hot minute but I feel like a lot of the ones I TRIED to read back in the summer felt kinda like they were. Like. Stripped of the things that I personally like about them like the complexity and the admiration and how much they CARE for and will support each other despite being “rivals” on opposite sides of the court. And I’m not saying that every depiction of them has to be super complicated or emotionally life-changing or anything because I love reading just. Fluff or silly stuff. But I feel like they were being replaced by some generic yaoi pair where one of them is super dominant and possessive while the other one is super woobified, if that makes sense? And I would just stare and be like that is NOT them!!!! I feel like this happens to a lot of mlm ships though, especially when they’re popular. The nuance is taken away and the yaoi effect takes its place. Have you also seen this. Is this only in my imagination. Was I just bad at picking out fics (probably).
ANYWAY Narumitsu/Tasutsumu comparisons I am taking out my notes. This isn’t even necessarily romantic/from a shipping point of view, I just think they’re very similar!! First of all, they’re both pairs of childhood friends who had shared dreams. For Narumitsu, as children, they both wanted to become defence attorneys to protect truth and justice, while Tasutsumu wanted to become actors together. However, as they grow up, one of them changes paths, without warning, and not necessarily because they wanted to. Edgeworth ends up as a prosecutor instead of a defence attorney after being raised by Von Karma, while Tsumugi becomes a tutor instead of an actor. Meanwhile, Phoenix and Tasuku are both still working towards defence and acting but they both want to know what changed (although Tasuku has a lot better of an idea on that) and have no way of knowing.
Another thing is they both have a “divorced” arc where one of them had what they saw as a HUGE failure and then left to somewhere the other couldn’t follow. For Tasutsumu, this is the same situation above because Tsumugi abruptly changed paths BECAUSE this failure and Reni’s words affected him so much that he didn’t think he could act anymore. For Narumitsu, you could say that similarly, this aligns with the situation outlined before because Phoenix couldn’t contact Edgeworth in any way until they were on opposite ends of the court, but I was thinking more of the post-AA1 “PROSECUTOR MILES EDGEWORTH CHOOSES DEATH” era where Edgeworth got up and left to Europe. And I think these situations are more similar because in these, there’s more anger. Tasuku is angry that Tsumugi abandoned their dream, while Phoenix is angry at Edgeworth because he thinks that he’s quit being a prosecutor. I think that they both perceive this as selfish. For Tasuku, it feels like a betrayal to him because he thought that acting was so incredibly important to both of them and Tsumugi being able to quit after one failure is proof to him that it wasn’t as important to Tsumugi as it was to Tasuku. Plus, they’d been friends all their lives and he just leaves without a word!
Phoenix feels similarly betrayed because he went through SO MUCH to be reunited with Edgeworth and save him, to become his friend again, just for Edgeworth to disappear at the end of it all. In his eyes, Edgeworth is still operating on the basis that he needs to be perfect, and if he isn’t perfect at prosecution, then he might as well not be a prosecutor at all. To Phoenix, “Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth’s death” is him quitting prosecution for what he sees as a petty reason. By the end of Justice for All, we learn that for Edgeworth, this was not the case; “Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth’s death” was him abandoning his previous ways and becoming a new type of lawyer. He’d already been saved by Phoenix, and he was trying to learn how to become closer to that lawyer he dreamed of being as a child who fought for justice (rather than the ruthless prosecutor he’d been who was willing to do anything for a win and he also had to deal with the fact that he probably got innocent people convicted), which is what Phoenix had wanted. But can you blame Phoenix for thinking this? I mean, Edgeworth was vague as hell in that note and disappeared without a trace. Both him AND Tsumugi disappear without a trace, knowing where Phoenix and Tasuku are (Edgeworth reads about Phoenix’s cases in the news and Tsumugi goes to see Tasuku’s plays), but not letting them know where THEY are. Anyway, Tasuku and Edgeworth both thought that their respective friends were willing to give up on not only their dreams, their work, but also THEM because they were no longer perfect and were upset by this.
Also, this has less to do with their relationships, but a similarity between Tasuku and Edgeworth is that they were forced into “perfection” by their mentors. The ways their mentors made them act led them to becoming hated by their peers and also distanced them from why they were pursuing acting/law in the first place. Reni kept pushing Tasuku into the prince box and put him on a pedestal as the top actor, which painted a target on his back in God Troupe's competitive environment. This took away a lot of what Tasuku loved about acting; trying all types of new roles, doing it with people who share that passion, and just. Acting for the sake of acting!! And the way Reni had one idea of what “good” acting is and thought that he could only do princely roles, as well as his peers’ opinions on him and the way he couldn’t show weakness in front of them which furthered their opinion that he was cold and thought he was above them, when really he felt isolated and alone.
Von Karma hammered into Edgeworth since he was young that he has to be PERFECT, and that means a perfect win streak. I’m almost certain that he switched from defence to prosecution because of him (I just can’t remember if or where this was Actually Confirmed). He wants a perfect streak because of him. And similar to Tasuku, he’s kind of alienated by his peers because of it with the “demon prosecutor” image who’s willing to do ANYTHING to maintain that perfect win streak. And the fact that he’s been taught to care more about wins than anything else in his profession made him lose focus of his ideals and why he wanted to become a (defence) lawyer in the first place, which was to find out the truth behind a case and to bring justice and protect people!!
Also, they both eventually break away from those mentors!! Tasuku left Reni and God Troupe because he saw what he did with Taichi and Mankai in episode 3 and he couldn’t stay with a troupe that would be willing to sabotage others like this to stay on top of them. And after 1-4, after being on the defence podium, Edgeworth gets to see how Von Karma REALLY is and what he’s willing to do to maintain that streak and stay as the “best” prosecutor!! It puts things into perspective for him because he’s been taught to try to emulate Von Karma for most of his life but he realizes that if that means doing all of THIS then he doesn’t want to. They both decide they want to change. Perfection wasn’t either of their goals in the first place, they just wanted to improve and this is how they were taught to do that. And their morals lead them to changing for the better :)

Candy House - Programme to fall in Love: Chapter 4
Characters: Hajime, Sora, Natsume & Tsumugi Season: Winter
Tumblr media
Hajime: Um, excuse me…?
Sora: Jime-chan! HaHa~ You always have such a relaxing “colour”~
Hajime: Wha? P–Please don’t hug me out of nowhere like that, Harukawa-kun. I don’t mind, but you’re squeezing me a bit too hard!
Tsumugi: Oh, Hajime-kun. Good morning. “Ra*bits” must also be very busy preparing for “Chocolat Fest”, so we’re sorry for making you do so much.
Hajime: No, it’s fine… It’s something I have to do in order to keep “S1-NON” a secret, so it’s not like I have a choice.
Natsume: Why did you have to put it that wAY? No one said thAT. We’re not threatening yOU – you’re helping us because you’re a good-natured person, rigHT? ♪
Hajime: R–Right… It’s exactly as you say…

Such purity and innocence is so rare these daYS.
Hajime: T–That’s all I have going for me.
Tsumugi: I see you’re still pretending to be a “convenient child”. You don’t have to force yourself if it gets too difficult, okay?
Hajime: No, actually, it’s easier for me this way. I mentioned that before, didn’t I…? ♪
A–Anyway, regarding the item you all were requesting… I asked Idea-sama and it seems it’s on its way.
I’ll give you the delivery destination’s address, so please check it afterwards.

Natsume: RigHT. We’re really sorry for the troubLE.

Hajime: Hehe. I don’t really understand, but I’m used to doing things the old-fashioned way, so I actually appreciate it.
I’d much prefer delivering a letter in person than tapping away on a smartphone.
In fact, I find it amazing how you all are always using the latest technology. I thought witches and magicians seemed quite old-fashioned, but you’re the exact opposite.
Natsume: HeHE. Magic is all about the unknoWN. We’re just the embodiment of magic in its original staTE.
Hajime: Uhh, I see? That’s so cool! That sounds amazing!

Sora: Honestly, Sora too~♪
Natsume: I sEE… I feel like an idiot doing my best to give my opinion, thEN.

Hajime: Huh? Uh, my business here is finished, though…?
Natsume: No no, we feel bad for making you work without giving you anything in retuRN. We want to reward yOU.
Hajime: Oh, um, it’s more than enough if you can keep my secret, though…?
Natsume: Non, noN. That won’t sit right with uS.
You worked better than we had expectED. The quality of your results and the price we paid don’t balance oUT…
Equivalent exchange is a basic principle in this worLD. Let us compensate you with a proper rewaRD.
Hajime: Okay… I’m just here to pass on a message from Idea-sama, so I haven’t done anything special.
In the end, I couldn’t bring any results from the spy plan we were discussing before. I just passed along any useful information to you from our conversations…
Natsume: No, the information you gave us was very valuabLE.
We somehow ended up being deeply involved with “Gor-Corp”, but there are things we’re unable to see when you’re on that siDE.
By seeing things through the eyes of Kirarai Dearu, a third party, we can see what our “good partner”, “Gor-Corp”, is truly liKE.
They’re not just a group of good-natured peopLE. They’ll squeeze everything out of us if we carelessly trust and  rely on them too muCH.
We can’t trust and rely on Stheno, the one with the “evil eYE”.
In that sense, our mission to save Sora’s friend should be highly successfUL.
Hajime: Umm…?
Sora: Master~ You’ve entered your own world and you’ve left everyone behind again.
Tsumugi: Natsume-kun does that sometimes, huh.
Natsume: Oh, shut uP.
Anyway, Hajime-kun, feel free to log in to “SSVRS” anytime during “Chocolat Fest”, alrigHT?
We’ve prepared a small gift for yOU.
Hajime: Oh, okay. I don’t know what’s going on, but thank you, I suppose…?
…Ah! I almost forgot!
Actually, Idea-sama also had something unnecessary delivered. Maybe Idea-sama changed their mind…
Natsume: Something unnecessaRY?
Hajime: Yes. I didn’t ask Idea-sama to, so I don’t think I’ll need it, but feel free to use it however you see fit.
That’s all from me. I’ll take my leave now~♪

Thinking about how they have all the qualities you'd like in a partner
Seeing this other side to Cherie'li - or, more accurately, what was inside his shell - took some time for her to get used to.
It wasn't that he was cruel - and nevertheless Tsumugi wouldn't even give him the time of day if he was ! - quite the opposite really. Seeing how he cared for his niece, the gentle tone in his voice even as he chided his older brother for not taking proper care of themselves. . . There was a loving, sweet and caring young man under that roughed up shell, making everyone assume he was a brooding loner who bit at hands that fed.
Not to forget how passionate he was for his craft. Strange, to her, that he'd hide such, aside from those he worked with, but her heart would burst over it every time.
He'd oft come to her with a wide smile under his face, throwing goggles to the side as he proudly presented to her his latest creation - ranging wildly from upgrades to his weaponry, to mechanical wonders she thought she'd never have even been able to see had she not left home. She couldn't help but adore his sense of wonder and the ideas that came forth from such.
But above all else she held close to her heart that he trusted her enough to come out of his shell. To let her follow along and see what few others did.
This was a man of wonder and love. And this was the man she'd fallen head over heels for.
Thus far Tsumugi never spoke up; can't blame her, when she never knew the feelings were there until now. Now, when the two sat in silence, having just waved a goodbye to Naruho and Dhael.
It was Cherie'li who spoke first, breaking the silence with a concerned question.
"Is something on your mind, Mugi ?"
The answer was met first with a wild shake of the head. "OH, nay, nothing is- well, I guess there's. . . Well." she glanced up to the other, seeing the confused look in his eye, and responded by kicking her legs.
A huff escaped Cherie'li, as he looked to the skies, observing the clouds turning pink as the sun set. "You get this look in your eyes when something plagues you. No matter if it's good or bad. . . . Whatever it be, your eyes will fog over, and you stare several yalms forth."
She puffed up - and then a warmth spread across her cheeks. Not aided by a quiet comment of how she always responds as such when called out.
Was she really being that obvious ? Had Cherie'li noticed before she even did that she was catching feelings ? Nay, perchance it was just a coincidence and he was worried about something else.
"Don't take this the wrong way. . . the last thing I mean is to come off as rude, but-" Cherie'li paused, trying to choose his words wisely, and gently. "Are you, perchance, seeking more than a friendship between us ?"
Oh, shit.
"What I mean by asking is. . . I am as well."

Oh my god, successfully summoning an ancestor with the V3 boys was amazing! Thank you so much! Could you do the same thing with the V3 Girls (exept Kaede because she is in your Blacklist)?
Summoning An Ancestor With V3 Girls!
aaaaaaaaaaa!! thank you anon!! im glad you liked it :))
warning: might be a long read
Tumblr media
Himiko Yumeno
•You thought you'd excite her? The opposite. Sure, she always bragged about her magic, but she's actually all bark no bite. Just when you thought her magic would finally be put into use. She even refused doing it when she heard the ancestor part. There's no way in hell that she'd want to witness a phantom in this school. Especially at the third floor. But by some miracle and bribery, you managed to drag her in.
•She was slightly quivering just by the ambience of the room. It was a bit dark, just lit up by a few candles that barely even did their job. Although, she was curious of all the things that you had laid out. She would take a few glances on it every second, not sure if to feel fear or curiousity.
•When the spirit appeared, all she could do was tearfully and fearfully watch the ascending spirit. She was frozen in place. She might be fearing it, but she also thought that it was awesome. If she was a mage, she could do this all the time.
•She just stood there the whole time you talked to your ancestor. She ahd questions of her own, but she's just trying to bottle them all up, hoping that you'd miraculously ask them. As if channeling her thoughts you.
•After you were done, she was speechless. She was trying to process everything that just happened. She asked you if she can ask some questions too next time. Let her ask please xD.
Tumblr media
Kirumi Tojo
•She's intrigued. It's the first time that she's having this request... but it's more like a favor. Same thing right? She'd like to see a spirit too. She might use this information someday, who knows. She agreed.
•She looked at all the things you had on the floor. Very dangerous. So she would guide you on how to use it properly. You might mess something up, but she's there to help.
•She was on alert when you started chanting unfamiliar words, but she remained calm and rational. Her hand will be ready to grab yours in case you had to flee. Your ancestor appeared earlier than you expected. She took just a step back when the spirit emerged. Intimidated by the spirit, she suggested that you two get out. But when the spirit spoke that you two can stay, she calmed down, but of course she's still on guard.
•While you conversed with your ancestor, she was observing it. Trying to identify which century they came from. She was trying to figure out if she would know how to serve them if they were still alive. Disregarding that, she's behaved and formal towards the spirit. She kept quiet the whole time and had her hands on top of the other, listening to the whole conversation.
•When you ended the session, she exhaled a breath of relief and congratulated you for doing a great job handling the spirit. There was something bugging her mind and you couldn't figure out what that was. But she reassured you that it was nothing. She agreed to come again the next time you perform another summoning.
Tumblr media
Angie Yonaga
•This actually piqued her interest. She might  be an artist, but she also takes interest in occult. So obviously, she's agree with you right away. She's excited, to be honest. But first, you'd hold a prayer to Atua. Pray for it to be successful. You couldn't escape her, so you just joined her, or you waited until she finished.
•She was humming while you two were heading for the room. When she saw your materials, her interest shot up. She even asked you if you needed a pint of blood because she'll get it right away. You tell her that a pint is not needed. In fact, you didn't need anything that was out of this room. Everything necessary is already here.
•She was a bit disappointed when no spirit appeared 8 seconds after you called it. And she presumed that maybe Atua didn't like this time and day fir the summoning. She would take her words back when it finally appeared. Amazement was glossing her eyes. How amazing Atua is.
•She was the one to ask questions first. What can you do? She's hella curious! The phantom was overwhelmed with the questions and eventually stopped answering them. She promised to keep quiet while you asked for advice but only if you'll let her ask more questions when you finish. She hummed while you communicated so it was kinda distracting. She's just excited give her a break xD.
•When you two were finished, she gave you her insight and told you that it was an amazing experience! She would love to do it with you again. She might just summon Atua next time!
Tumblr media
Maki Harukawa
•Maki gave you a questioning look. What? A summoning? You seriously believe in that? That's nothing but a wishful thinking. But seeing that you insist so bad, she had no choice but to come with you. She just wants your mouth to shut up, so she agreed.
•The materials you had were pretty unfamiliar to her considering she's an assassin. She thinks this is all just bullshitry, nothing more. She has to put up with it though. She actually helped you do the methods, correcting whenever you get something wrong.
•Maki got tired of waiting after 10 seconds. "I already told you. This is not working." Which she'd immediately take back. The phantom loomed over you two. She creased her eyebrows. She still can't believe. But she had no choice but to suck it up. She nervously swallowed and grabbed something that wasn't there; a weapon.
•She stood there, despising the phantom a bit, but still listened to what it said. She didn't have her personal questions; regarding the killing game that is. She had all the questions on her mind. Who? What? Why? How? HOW?! She was making a weird face that slightly disturbed the spirit.
•When you finished the session, she told you how weird that experience was. But she's relieved that you got some advice from them. Might not go with you the next time. Not because she's terrified of the ghost. She thinks it's hella weird and it sends a shiver up her spine.
Tumblr media
Tenko Chabashira
•"S-s-summoning?! Thats kinda... new..." She's a bit creeped out. Just the thought of seeing a ghost is enough to make her cringe. She asks you if you're sure. Just in case you change your mind, she'd still be supporting you.
•You led her up to the third floor of the school. She was a bit fidgety and she always asks you if you'd change your mind right now. She was shocked of all thr items in the room. She was alarmed and posed defensively. She had no idea how all of these work, so she read the instructions on the book and helped you even just a little bit.
•She was actually relieved that your ancestor didn't appear... yet. The relief immediately went away when the translucent spirit came to... life. How ironic. She was actually terrified of the spirit now. She hidea behind your back, promising to defend you if anything happens.
•She was behind you the whole time you talked. She wouldn't dare utter a word. But maybe she'll sneak her catchphrase in when your ancestor is male. She watched the spirit with anxious and confused eyes.
•She was extremely relieved when you were done. It was like getting rid of the thorn on her side. She felt easy again. I doubt that she'd go with you the next time... That was terrifying. Who knew spirits were real?
Tumblr media
Miu Iruma
•She's quite disgusted of the thought. You still believe in those things at your age? Pathetic. Believe in technology instead! Now come here and let me test this new invention of mine! Its functions are—! She agreed to join you. But just for research purposes and future references. Decided to make an impromptu camera to tape the summoned spirit. That might just be a breakthrough.
•She was full of complaints during your trip. She held her camera to where all the necessary objects for the ritual was placed. Istg she might be doing a documentary. Bad commentator I would say. She dissed all the objects that you had laid out. What the hell, man? She didn't help you. She just picked these up and observed it through the camera. She filmed your process.
•She was impatiently waiting for the ghost to appear. She was about to turn her camera off when she heard the phantom's booming voice. She cowered in fear, almost dropping her camera. She hid behind your back, whimpering.
•She watched your ancestor fearfully while you asked questions. She would mutter unholy things under her breath and you would be distracted by that. Like, do souls have pps or something of the sort.
•She only filmed half of the thing. Let's just hope that that ghost and the audio show up in the recordings. She wouldn't accompany you ever again. That shit was terrifying.
Tumblr media
Tsumugi Shirogane
•She was excited. But of vourse, she evaluated everything before she agreed with you. Summoning was both heart-throbbing and curious for her. So obviously, she wouldn't back out.
•She was quiet during the trip to the third floor. But she certainly had a smile on her face and stars for eyes. She was intrigued with all thr object you had laid out. She even grabbed one and tried to run it across her skin. But for safety purposes, yo told her to stop as it would ruin the ritual. She gladly obliged. She still observed the objects very closely though.
•She was starting to sigh as 8 seconds rolled by and nothing came out of your ritual. Just as she was about to leave, she squeaked at the spirit's frightening voice. She went back to her place and quietly apologized while she had her head down.
•She was just there... with her sparkling eyes boring into the summoned soul. She had all sorts of questions, and her face was turning pink. Probably from excitement. She had to bottle up all those questions too.
•After the session, she was too awestruck to utter a single word. She had sparkles in her eyes and her hands were merged together. She grabbed yours and enthusiastically said, "Let's do it again next time, S/O!"

Mod, who are your top 10 favorite characters and top 10 least favorite?
//I have actually been wanting to discuss something like this, so I’m glad someone brought it up to me.
//I’ll go through with this, but I won’t be discussing my least favorites, since I don’t want to bring any negativity, and to be honest, I enjoy writing pretty much everyone in this blog. I also fear if I share who my least favorites are in the main series, said characters won’t get as many asks, and I don’t want any unfair bias. I can definitely admit to hating Haiji though, because...well...he obviously won't be receiving any questions anymore. Besides, I doubt many people will disagree with me.
Honorable Mentions:
Makoto Naegi
Mahiru Koizumi
Kirumi Tojo
Kaede Akamatsu
Tsumugi Shirogane
Shuichi Saihara
Iroha Nijiue
Mikihiko Koyasunaga
Yoruko Kabuya
Tsurugi Kinjo
Uchui Porosen
Kibin Hatsudoki
//Though to be honest, everyone may as well be an honorable mention because I love writing every single one of these guys. Also, like I just said, don’t let this top 10 affect your asks. I love every character in this blog and I’m happy to make asks for each and every one of them. It was really hard to narrow it down to 10
#10: Tenko Chabashira
This might seem a little surprising, given that Tenko hasn't had a whole lot of screen time and story relevance so far. She's only been prominent in two arcs, Deadly Harmony and Novoselic Revolution, both of which she didn't have as much screen time as most of the other characters. However, not to spoil anything major, I have big plans for her, and what I've pulled out of her so far is something I'm proud of. My main goal is mainly to give her a bit of development, and tone down on the sexism element of her character. Not remove it entirely, mind you, because let's be real, Tenko unfortunately isn't Tenko without it, but basically to not do what the DR dev team did and make it the forefront of her character, while her other exceedingly good traits are just at the back until later on in the story.
#09: Kokichi Ouma
Kokichi is one of, if not, my favorite character in the original DR series. My main goal of him in this series is trying to grapple with his constantly changing attitude, mainly towards the DRV3 cast besides himself. At first he's glad to see them, then he turns spiteful towards Shuichi and Kaede when they try to fight him, then he straight up just abandons them and attempts to cut off contact. As he is right now, he's conflicted about how to feel about everyone. Sure, they all still hate him, but during Cabaret Kyojin's they came to his defense when he most needed it. That whole arc might've seemed pretty pointless and acted as needless filler, but my true intention of it was to flesh out the characters involved, mainly Kokichi and Kuripa. Speaking of which, that's another plot point that I'm looking forward to branching upon: the little companionship those two have going on right now.
#08: Monaca Towa
Monaca is a character I actually tend to struggle with in the grand scheme of things. The reason being that, arguably, she in canon is the second biggest antagonist in the series behind Junko. What I tried to do with Survivor though, is not make her an antagonist, but make her slowly become more and more redeemable, despite her actions. The reason why I went with this approach is mainly due to Monaca's last appearance in the series, where she states to Toko and Komaru that she's kind of just done with everything to do with Junko and Despair. I don't think it would be easy to bring her back as an antagonist because of THAT fiasco, and that is legitimately one of favorite scenes of her...which is funny because it's from DR3 and I kinda hate the anime. Her whole presence in Survivor is based around the idea of trying to seek redemption, but she doesn't outwardly want to admit this, nor does she really think she's worthy or deserving of said redemption. She's an adult now, and she grew a conscience. A guilty one that weighs her down and makes her come back to earth to basically settle things and make peace, and though it's been difficult, I love how she's turned out so far.
#07: Akira Tsuchiya
I understand many have their reservations about Akira after what he did this arc, but he's still legitimately one of my favorite villains in this blog because despite the fact that he's a psychopath who kills and ruins people all just for causing Despair, he's just kinda super relatable. He constantly lives with the attitude of just being done with everyone's shit, and I know a lot of DR fans can relate to that. He's also the kind of guy who marches to the beat of his own drum, which is obviously a very slow beat. He rarely ever does what Tsumugi tells him to do, unless the plan interests him or gives him something to do, and his character in general is based around the idea of "Shut-in NEET who just so happens to have a power complex." Overall, what makes him unique to me is just how normal he is, especially when he's compared to the chaotic sea that is the Danganronpa Villains.
#06: Mikan Tsumiki
Novoselic Revolution had the very important role in the story of mending Mikan. Without her efforts and the sacrifices she made in that arc, there's a high chance that the group would have failed to retake the kingdom from Angie and Mikihiko. It goes without saying that the screentime Mikan got in this arc was some of my absolute favorite moments on this blog from a writers perspective. A lot of people in DR dislike Mikan for her actions and character change in the third case of the second game, which I really don't think is fair. Mikan was just the character chosen to be afflicted with the Despair Disease. Nothing else would have been changed had it been a different character, so her role early on in Survivor is mainly her trying to come to terms with her actions, as well as things like making things right with Hiyoko (and Ibuki by extrension) and reevaluating whether or not she's a good person. Mikan is an emotionally and mentally broken child, and it's my full intent in my writing of her to heal her wounds like she does for so many other people.
#05: Narumi Osone
Easily my favorite Zetsubou villain in the blog. During Novoselic Revolution, I really buttered up how much I enjoyed writing Mikihiko, but in reality, I was just waiting for the Rebirth Duo (her and Akira) to burst onto the scene. She didn't make for as great a twist villain in Life and Lies of Akeru Yozora as I would've liked her to be, but even now, I still feel like she left an impact. I mean, she committed quite the number of atrocities. The main reason why I like Narumi though, is how she diverges from the rest of the Zetsubou group. While most of them are doing their evil things for reasons that constitute to causing as much Despair as possible, she does it for almost the complete opposite reason. She absolutely despises Despair, and the only reason she's with Organization Zetsubou, is so that she can patiently await and watch as the Hope that stems from the people fighting back. It's also plays into her ideal. Narumi is so obsessed with Hope that she believes that anyone and everyone who is without hope, and gives into Despair, doesn't deserve to live (and ideal that also allows her to easily hit it off with Nagito). To name the best example: The UUV. Their revenge fantasy is based around the Despair they feel post Ayumu and Marin's deaths, and not around the Hope of their goal of reforming society, even if by force. When Narumi notices this, is angers her so much she murders all of them in cold blood, believing them to be beyond redemption. As a final note, Narumi's violent nature and lust for bloodshed (and lest not forget her weird obsession with Makoto) is also made all the more tragic when you remember she's literally just a 14 year old kid with not a lot of life experience. For someone to be this far gone at such a young age is pretty depressing, but it also provides me with a lot of great writing opportunities, and god damn it she isn't a fun character to write.
#04: Mukuro Ikusaba.
I could pretty much just copy/paste the basic things I said about Monaca's personal conflict for Mukuro, but on a much more extreme level. This is something that I plan on actually branching on later down the line, but Mukuro's backstory and reason why she has a presence here is briefly mentioned by Sayaka in one post. To sum up what she said, when the Foundation were first starting to use the machines to bring back the victims of the first killing game, Makoto was the one who suggested possibly bringing Mukuro back, something that understandably, his classmates initially were against. However, at the time, Kyoko was still new to being the Foundation Chairwoman, and Makoto very much pressed the issue with her. Kyoko eventually agreed to the resurrection, but in exchange, any and all actions committed by the soldier, most notably any treacherous or bad ones, would subsequently be Makoto's responsibility. Of course, as you can imagine, Makoto accepted these terms, and Mukuro was resurrected. For a while afterwards, many were very wary of her presence, and most didn't outright accept her as a member of the Foundation, even when the Remnants of Despair officially signed up. What you have to remember is that Mukuro wasn't really brainwashed into helping Junko, at least not in the same way that the Remnants were. Most of what she did for Junko is what she did willingly, but Makoto felt that in reality, Mukuro was just another one of Junko's victims and she'd never known Hope in her life, which is why she turned out so chaotic, so his whole intention of reviving her was to redeem her honor, of which he was pretty much successful. The main trait of Mukuro's though that I tend to focus on, is arguably her most serious: her PTSD. Of all the characters who could have been hit hard with PTSD, it makes the most sense for it to be a soldier, and since the beginning of her revival, Mukuro has been cursed by the lingering ghost of her dead Despair sister. Junko's presence in her mind less drives Mukuro insane though, and simply makes her doubt herself and her presence, wondering if it was worth being revived, or whether or not she truly deserves to live. But regardless of how she feels, she's duty bound to the end, and still supports everyone unquestionably, especially towards those in her own branch being Makoto, her boss, the man who saved her, and of course her undeniable love interest, and Kuripa to whom she disciplines, but also acts as a mother/big sister figure to.
#03: Hajime Hinata.
It might just be me, but I feel like Hajime in particular is the fan fav in this blog. I feel he's shown up in more posts than any other character, which is fine by me given he's also one of my personal favorite characters, and is probably my favorite protagonist (it really changes depending on my mood, honestly, I think they're all as great as each other). The remnants of Despair's conflict is an obvious one that you commonly see in post-game fics such as this one, and in Survivor, and my personal opinion, Hajime is undoubtedly the one who has it the hardest. However, out of all of the characters in the series who HAVE trauma (and let's be real, that's undoubtedly a LOT of characters in both DR canon, and this blog) he's also undoubtedly the one who handles it the best. However, there is a limit to how much pressure he can take, and that causes him to lash out (like he did with Mahiru during Misfortune's Revenge, which I know we don't like to talk about but its the most notable example). He's been through a whole load of shit and the pressure is constantly crushing him like a gigantic boulder, yet he still forces himself to carry it. Outside of my own writing, Hajime has so many conflicting thoughts and trauma in other fics, and in Survivor, I don't intend to flat out copy them, but I do desire to live up to them. The reason why Hajime has so many burdens placed upon him, and as of Misfortune's Revenge now has double as many, yet is still able to keep going strong, is because he's no longer allowing himself to be weighed down by events that are in the past and out of his control. What makes his ideal unique, is that he has power, almost limitless amounts of it, but instead of focusing on what he can do with it, he's more conflicted and focused on what he CAN'T do, and changing the past is one thing he can't, and as of such doesn't focus on it. He only ever focuses on the present, and the future, and worries about that. And you've got to hand it to the guy, while it's definitely been better, his life is actually super good right now. He has at least 15 really great friends/found family members, a home on an island resort, an AI companion in his phone who will always help him out and support him, a smoking-hot red-haired girlfriend, a pretty good job and a lot more. For him, it's not simply a matter of abiding by the Foundation and fixing the chaos that he indirectly caused. It's also about the fear of losing what he has, and wanting to protect it.
#02: Ayumu Fujimori.
I've said this one or two times before, but I think Ayumu turned out spectacular, and when I eventually had to kill him off, I felt really bad about doing so. The main reason why I removed him, and why I currently don't have any plans to bring him back, is due to my future plans, having him around would make little to no sense. He serves mainly as a catalyst for the new phase of the story, a much darker one, and with his death, we enter that phase. I know many people are worried about it, but it's not just Ayumu's reason for being in the story that makes him great. While it isn't obvious right away, the main character that I was trying to portray with him, is that he's basically the darker side of Hajime. The two of them share very similar traits in character, personality and backstory. Some notable points would be
Both of them are incredibly self-doubtful, and that self-doubt caused them to become Ultimate Hopes.
Both of them once held huge admiration for a powerful group of people. For Hajime it was Hope's Peak and for Ayumu it was the Japanese Government
Said power called them useless, which led to their transformation
Both have pretty sad backstories, which involve two different types of cruel parents and family's.
They both have a best friend who likes to sleep.
Said best friend ended up dying horribly right in front of them, with them both unable to do anything about it, which eventually leads them both to go insane and make some bad decisions.
Though their methods differ, ultimately, they both want the same thing: a brighter future for their friends and the people they love
Ayumu might be a threat, and an antagonist, but he doesn't really count as a "villain" per se. At the core, he's basically just a misguided young man, who the world treated like shit, so he just wants to get back at it. He's also an influential figure, pulling many people into his fight, and gaining many supporters outside of his friends in the UUV. For the short time he was on the blog, he was an absolute BLAST to write, and you can damn sure bet I'm going to miss him.
#01: Kuripa Kurafto.
This is undoubtedly the riskiest part of this list, especially since we're talking about an OC here, but I also think a lot of you guys saw this coming. I can understand why some of you might disagree with me on this placement, but I'll tell you now, if you're unimpressed, trust me, I am barely scratching the surface of Kuripa's character. As of such, I have to go on this based off of what's already known about him. His whole character I feel comes full circle at the end of the Ultra Despair Gang arc, in which the first monumental event in the blog actually happens: him killing Haiji Towa by stabbing him in the gut and sending him falling to his death. This is then followed by a speech to Makoto, Komaru, Toko and Byakuya, which basically lays out the key part of Kuripa's character, being his ideals. Every protagonist in Danganronpa goes by a certain ideal that contrasts that of their enemies. For Makoto, it's Hope, for Hajime, it's Future, and for Shuichi it's truth. Kuripa is the complete reverse, being a protagonist that represents Despair. He's not outright a villain, or even a generally bad guy, but he definitely has some apparent darkness to him, and is also incredibly violent when at the peak of rage. Of course, it all stems from a huge event in his life, the murder of his little sister Kotoko by the hands of Matta Gyalusetsu, which has led to his over-arcing conflict: his desire to find Matta and kill him as revenge. I tend to hate characters in stories who have the "My Sister is Dead" archetype or trope, but the main reason is because most characters who have that JUST have that, and for Kuripa that's something I'm trying to avoid. One of the most important parts of Kuripa's character is the contrast between his dark, almost psychopathic side that believes murder is a suitable way to indefinitely solve a problem, and his regular self, who to put simply, is a complete and total clown. He's like a walking meme, and makes a total fool out of himself, either through just being a mindless tomfool, a playful perv, or a loveable idiotic otaku. Still, his presence is indeed important to everyone around him, especially seen through his interactions with Makoto, Kibin, Mukuro, Uchui, Kokichi, The Kyojin's and the High Roller staff. This is another thing in regards to Kuripa's conflict that is quite saddening to. Similar to Hajime, as things currently stand, Kuripa has an excellent life. He's a successful animator who makes a lot of money from his work, he enjoys his time at the Future Foundation and really looks up to both Makoto and Mukuro who both treat him with a reciprocated amount of respect, he gets to work in tangent with his best friend, he has many pals, some of which are part of an anime club, and on top of it all, he has a cute girlfriend who playfully flirts back and forth with him all the time. He has everything a guy could possibly ever want, but due to his one track mind, he can never be satisfied knowing Kotoko's killer is still out there, and he will do whatever it takes to avenge her...even if he needs to cut a few people down to get it...
//Doing this kind of self-reflective character analysis is pretty refreshing and fun to be honest, although, doing it makes it sound like I have a big head, and am complementary of my own writing where I know many might disagree with my techniques and opinions. You're free to, believe me, but please keep any criticism constructive.

I MUST KNOW EVERYTHING!! (about your a3 ladies i mean) idc if you put everything in this ask or dm me but i Gotta Know 👁👄👁🕵‍♀️🔍🤔 i am very excited about this new batch of kids!!!!!!!
good thing i love to yell about my kids leT'S GO this is gonna get long sorry
ayasa hasumi
she's a childhood friend of tsumugi and tasuku and was in the drama club with them.
she had fun acting, but she loved doing the makeup and outfits for it more, so she ended up becoming a makeup artist as an adult.
she never really knew why tsumugi quit acting and why they grew apart since neither of them would talk to her about it, so she just stopped asking, though she remained in contact with both of them and just. didn't talk about them to each other.
she's seen all of tasuku's shows and always makes fun of his more eccentric fans.
she does makeup around veludo way for various different professions, she's gradually building a very very good portfolio.
when tasuku quits the god troupe he calls ayasa up to rant and she's ready to throw hands with reni.
she's very supportive of tasuku and tsumugi in the mankai company and offers to do makeup for them, so she ends up hanging out with everyone at the dorms a lot.
she's so excited when tsumugi comes back but when the two boys are still on bad terms she is DONE with them she is just "don't talk to me until you sort it out i am TIRED of you CLOWNS"
she's very extroverted, loves to party and have fun, and tends to fit into social situations easily. she's also very blunt and says things as they are.
she doesn't have a ship as of yet.
tsukasa nakano
a childhood friend of tenma, the two were neighbours and grew up together. tsukasa wasn't into show business or anything like that, but she supported tenma and watched all his shows and movies.
when they were still kids, they promised to always be besties, pinkie swore on it and everything, but life kept happening and despite tsukasa's best efforts, tenma was often just too busy to respond, and so after a while she stopped trying.
she feels forgotten but does her best not to hold it against him.
when she hears that tenma is going to be in a play close by to where she lives, she goes to watch without saying anything. i haven't decided whether she gets caught out yet.
she's kind of aloof and nonchalant since she doesn't want to seem like she cares about things.
she's very athletic and she prefers to skateboard places rather than walk.
idk about her ship yet, i could go the disconnected childhood friend route ft. a side of angst with tenma or i could have her fall for someone else while she's going through her friendship woes.
shizue ikawa
a very shy university student, she attends a few classes with tsuzuru, mostly writing ones. she wants to be a novel writer.
she and tsuzuru become friends over writing and he invites her to see the plays he writes in action, which is how she ends up becoming friends with the mankai company.
she is VERY overwhelmed by them at first they are a lot to handle okay.
when she gets comfortable enough, though, she can start rambling about stories and media she's interested in, though she usually catches herself when she starts rambling.
when tsuzuru is going through a script writing hell week, she covers for him during class and makes sure he doesn't miss anything, though she wishes he would actually take care of himself.
she's a kazunari ship because i love opposites. he really helps her come out of her shell around the company and listens to her ramble without complaint. she encourages him to give his opinion when he has one, even though she sometimes has to learn that herself.
nana sugimori
a pop star and actress who is sort of friends with tenma since they worked on a movie together. tbh they're more frienemies than anything.
it was a teen romcom movie where they were the leads so a lot of their fans ship them and they are DISGUSTED
when she hears tenma is going to be in a play she has to go watch it, and she claims it's to be annoying, but she does want to show her support.
she can be very arrogant and her popularity doesn't help that, though she does genuinely love her fans and wants to do right by them
she's charismatic as well and gets along well with the members of the company pretty well because of this
she and yuki hit it off very fast which pisses tenma off since they love ganging up on him
she's a sakuya ship and she's completely blindsided by it. she meets him and is like how is this boy so happy and nice and enthusiastic is he even human i've never met anyone like that but he's very pretty and talented and works hard -- oh no.
tenma doesn't know whether to make fun of her or be disgusted
she is homeschooled because of her busy schedule but when she does have time off she'll just walk into the mankai building as if she belongs there
euna moon
start the clown music
she's part of the yakuza under sakyo and is basically sakoda's partner in crime and dumbassery
she's basically another sakoda and everyone is like "oh my god there's two of them"
she was basically taken in by sakyo and in exchange she pulls her weight and does her best at her job, which she takes seriously despite her personality indicating the opposite
she supports the mankai company and has from the beginning, even when sakyo was all "show me the money" so she is VERY excited when sakyo joins the autumn troupe
euna and sakoda: cheering, hyping their boss up, being dumbasses. sakyo: why are we even here...................just to suffer..............
she does have a sad backstory, being abandoned in a different country than the one she was born in and having to survive by herself until she was taken in, but she prefers to not bring it up as she doesn't want to "be a downer to others"
she's actually a very good performer and sings really well, though she keeps it to herself unless someone asks
she doesn't have a ship yet i'm still deciding <3

IDOLiSH7 5th Anniversary Special Story: Opening Doors...
Chapter 3: A Weight Lifted Off Their Hearts
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5 | Chapter 6
Haruka Isumi: Ahaha! That's so funny!
Mitsuki Izumi: We've gotten way off the rails again. Where were we?
Nagi Rokuya: OH! We were discussing our team divisions!
Gaku Yaotome: We're probably ending up in different teams, too. But I think the three of us are better off separated.
Tamaki Yotsuba: Really?
Gaku Yaotome: If Ryu, Tenn, and Osaka were singing in a shuffle unit, it wouldn't sit right with me.
Tenn Kujo: So what you're actually saying is that you'd feel left out.
Ryunosuke Tsunashi: That's so cute! You act exactly like my little brothers sometimes, Gaku.
Gaku Yaotome: No, that's not what I meant...
Tenn Kujo: Now you're just embarrassed.
Tamaki Yotsuba: Don't leave me out, either! That's mean!
Sogo Osaka: I think I'd feel more uncomfortable than anyone else in that equation...
Minami Natsume: Since there are four of us, does that mean one of us will be in each team?
Toma Inumaru: Good guess!
Torao Mido: Wait, seriously..?
Mitsuki Izumi: Don't look so  depressed. I guess you must be afraid of strangers, too.
Torao Mido: Not really... Wait, maybe I am a little bit?
Torao Mido: I used to be sociable, but I feel like there might've been a point where I became scared of celebrities...
Yuki: Oh, you poor thing.
Torao Mido: .........
Yuki: Show business can be scary.
Momo: Not everyone's as kind as we are!
Minami Natsume: Mido-san, what's the matter? You look tense...
Torao Mido: ...I think I unearthed some repressed memories just now...
Haruka Isumi: Hey, Toma. Who's in my team? Can you give me a hint?
Toma Inumaru: Just wait a little longer.
Riku Nanase: I'm getting kind of hungry. I should've brought a snack.
Tamaki Yotsuba: I've got snacks. Want some?
Nagi Rokuya: OH! Excuse me for a moment. It is time for new merchandise to be released.
Mitsuki Izumi: Hey, we're working.
Yuki: It's fine, this is just a meeting.
Minami Natsume: Would anyone like more coffee?
Gaku Yaotome: Me.
Ryunosuke Tsunashi: Could you pour me another cup, too? I don't need sugar or milk.
Iori Izumi: We're starting to lose focus...
Tenn Kujo: Everyone's having trouble concentrating. How far along have we gotten, so far?
Iori Izumi: We haven't gotten anywhere.
Tenn Kujo: ........
Iori Izumi: We're still at the starting line.
Nagi Rokuya: Whoo..! Bravo! I got it!
Riku Nanase: Wow! What did you buy!?
Nagi Rokuya: Something!
Riku Nanase: Something..?
Nagi Rokuya: The site is too crowded for the pictures to load... But I managed to complete an order!
Riku Nanase: Yay! That's great!
Nagi Rokuya: Yay!
Iori Izumi: Congratulations. Now that Rokuya-san has made a successful purchase, let's return to the topic at hand.
Tenn Kujo: Before Tamaki Yotsuba gets bored beyond salvation again.
Minami Natsume: Again?
Tenn Kujo: Our three groups had a training camp together, and we played statues together.
Riku Nanase: That was so much fun! Yuki-san was so excited he wrote a song in one day.
Yuki: I wasn't excited, really. I would never have done that if it hadn't been for a work project.
Gaku Yaotome: We had to choreograph it in one day, too. That was tough!
Ryunosuke Tsunashi: But it was a good experience! When did we all perform it, again? I don't remember...
Torao Mido: .........
Ryunosuke Tsunashi: Ah...
Torao Mido: .........
Yamato Nikaido: This is so awkward... And the cameras are still rolling.
Mitsuki Izumi: I think a little awkwardness will do them good, honestly.
Mitsuki Izumi: ŹOOĻ might've done a favor for us, but they've done nothing but the opposite to TRIGGER.
Haruka Isumi: .........
Haruka Isumi: ......... ...I need to go to the bathroom...
Toma Inumaru: Haru.
Haruka Isumi: .........
Toma Inumaru: Don't go anywhere.
Haruka Isumi: ......... But...
Toma Inumaru: Stay here and watch. We decided not to run, remember?
Toma Inumaru: We couldn't keep running, remember? It'll be fine.
Haruka Isumi: .........
Minami Natsume: Look, Isumi-san. I'm holding your hand.
Tenn Kujo: ...Hehe.
Haruka Isumi: ...What?
Tenn Kujo: Stop frowning and listen. We'll tell you what happened, and what kind of song we made.
Haruka Isumi: ...I know already. It's the song they sang at Friends Day, right? And you guys were supposed to sing it with them.
Tenn Kujo: That's not all there is to it. We also had a fun time lodging together for the first time.
Haruka Isumi: .........
Tenn Kujo: We've got a song that brings back painful memories, too.   A song we can't bear to see, no matter how much we love it.
Riku Nanase: Ah... Could it be, our...
Iori Izumi: Hush, Nanase-san.
Tenn Kujo: Every time we heard it, our hearts would sting. But then someone told us something.
Tenn Kujo: That music ties people together. That we'd be tied together by it, too.
Haruka Isumi: ...Tied together by music...
Tenn Kujo: Exactly. Even if the first notes make your ears hurt, the song will eventually tie together...
Tenn Kujo: Our futures.
Haruka Isumi: .........
Haruka Isumi: ...Fine. I'll stay here and listen.
Tamaki Yotsuba: Let's sing Happy Days Creation!
Iori Izumi: Right now? Are you serious?
Gaku Yaotome: Yeah. Not for the cameras, just for us. I've been wanting to do it for ages.
Toma Inumaru: Yaotome...
Gaku Yaotome: We were in the audience for Friends Day. IDOLiSH7, you sang our song, right?
Gaku Yaotome: I was happy to hear your version of SECRET NIGHT.
Riku Nanase: ...Right.
Iori Izumi: ........
Momo: Ahaha. Okay, let's do it!
Yuki: Let's.
Gaku Yaotome: Thanks for going along with this, Re:vale.
Ryunosuke Tsunashi: Haha... ...Ahh, for some reason, I...
Ryunosuke Tsunashi: ...Started crying, without even meaning to. Oh no...
Yamato Nikaido: Haha... You always have been quick to cry, Tsunashi-san.
Tamaki Yotsuba: Should we move the table? We can't just start dancing here with 12 people, can we?
Mitsuki Izumi: I bet TRIGGER would bump into it. Let's move it over there by a little.
Sogo Osaka: Around here?
Nagi Rokuya: OH! How nostalgic! It is as though we have gone back in time.
Nagi Rokuya: The moment that slipped through our fingers the first time is finally within our grasp.
Riku Nanase: Yeah!
Riku Nanase: Here we go! Stand right there and watch, ŹOOĻ!
Yuki: You're all so youthful.
Momo: You look pretty pleased yourself, Yuki.
Yuki: That's because writing that song was a struggle. Right, Sogo-kun?
Sogo Osaka: Right...
Sogo Osaka: I still remember how you strummed the guitar that night. It changed my life.
Yuki: Well said. You should put that in your autobiography.
Tenn Kujo: Let's do this.
Riku Nanase: Yeah!
Yuki: Happy Days Creation!

Kaoru Anesagi: ...Sniffle... I never thought I'd get to see something like this...
Tsumugi Takanashi: ...It feels like I'm dreaming...
Banri Ogami: Tsumugi-san... Here, have a handkerchief.
Tsumugi Takanashi: Thank you...
Staff: This is great footage! We really appreciate being able to show their singing and dancing, even if this is a cooking show...
Rinto Okazaki: ...Sniffle...
Rinto Okazaki: Cut this out of the episode, please...
Staff: Huh!? Cut it!? So we can't use it!?
Kaoru Anesagi: No... Stop the cameras, please... Sniffle...
Staff: Oh, come on... That would be a waste of valuable footage...
Tsumugi Takanashi: ...Cut the cameras...
Staff: Seriously?
Kaoru Anesagi: Uuh... You three are incredible...
- - - -
Momo: Phew, we really danced our hearts out.
Yamato Nikaido: Ah, we really did.
Riku Nanase: Ehehe! That was fun!
Yamato Nikaido: Sure was!
Yamato Nikaido: ........
Yamato Nikaido: That's all, folks!
Mitsuki Izumi: Wait, hold on! Don't just wave this all off with a smile!
Yamato Nikaido: Why not? That was the perfect moment for the end credits to start rolling.
Ryunosuke Tsunashi: It did feel like closure of some kind!
Tenn Kujo: Nothing is over yet. The long hand on the clock has made one complete trip around the clock face, and we haven't gotten a single thing done.
Riku Nanase: What do you mean?
Iori Izumi: He means a full hour has passed. Weren't you taught how to tell the time by the time you  began grade school?
Riku Nanase: But he said it in such a roundabout way!
Tenn Kujo: I apologize, Nanase-san.
Iori Izumi: There you go again...
Tenn Kujo: Excuse me?
Iori Izumi: I was just thinking out loud about how over-indulgent certain people can be.
Riku Nanase: Now you're talking funny too, Iori! Is this a new trend or something?
Iori & Tenn: Just with us.
Toma Inumaru: 'Kay! So, about our divisions...
Tamaki Yotsuba: You're announcing the teams!?
Toma Inumaru: Yeah. Since everyone's so curious about the teams, I think I'll just reveal them now!
Sogo Osaka: Huh, are you sure? We haven't even decided on our menu yet...
Mitsuki Izumi: I know I was against it earlier, but maybe knowing our teams might help move the conversation along.
Toma Inumaru: Especially since there's 16 of us. 'Scuse me, may I reveal the teams now?
Toma Inumaru: ...Ah, they said it's fine!
Sogo Osaka: You're very proactive, Inumaru-san... I'm not very rock 'n' roll in that regard, myself.
Tamaki Yotsuba: You're plenty active already, trust me.
Toma Inumaru: Quit calling me "Inumaru-san". Just Toma is fine. We're the same age, remember?
Mitsuki Izumi: Oh, looks like our leads are forming a friendship.
Yamato Nikaido: Nice.
Sogo Osaka: Thank you, Toma. In that case, you may call me Osaka.
Torao Mido: That's not your first name, though.
Sogo Osaka: No, I meant to say Sogo.
Toma Inumaru: Hehe, this feels kinda awkward.
Sogo Osaka: Haha, it does.
Toma Inumaru: Alright, here I go. The first team is..!
Toma Inumaru: Iori Izumi, Yamato Nikaido, Tenn Kujo, and Haruka Isumi!
Iori Izumi: Hmm.
Yamato Nikaido: Oh, not too different from normal, then. Glad to have you.
Tenn Kujo: Glad to have you, too...
Haruka Isumi: What?!
Iori, Yamato, & Tenn: ........
Tenn Kujo: Haruka Isumi. Who is making you react the way you just did?
Iori Izumi: Certainly not me. It has to be either you, Kujo-san, or this grandpa.
Yamato Nikaido: Can you not call me a grandpa!? If I'm one, then so is Grandpa Gaku over there.
Gaku Yaotome: Did someone call me?
Yamato Nikaido: Don't respond when someone calls you a grandpa.
Ryunosuke Tsunashi: He's right. Think of how that must make Yuki-san feel.
Yuki: It's fine. I'm 16 years old.
Ryunosuke Tsunashi: Huh? That can't be right. I could've sworn you were turning...
Momo: Ryu-chan! Just let it go!
Tenn Kujo: So, who's the one that made you yell out like that?
Haruka Isumi: ......... I couldn't help my shock at being in the same group as Tenn Kujo from TRIGGER...
Tenn Kujo: You're very honest. But also rude.
Haruka Isumi: I'm sorry...
Tenn Kujo: Hehe, and obedient.
Yamato Nikaido: As you're about to find out, having Kujo in your team makes things easier. He knows just about anything.
Tenn Kujo: I could say the same about you, or Iori Izumi.
Iori Izumi: I suppose you could call us Team Honor Students, then.
Haruka Isumi: I'm not an honor student.
Iori Izumi: I know. You can be our variety expert.
Haruka Isumi: Variety expert!? Like how..?
Yamato Nikaido: By being the funny man to all our straight man.
Tenn Kujo: Right.
Iori Izumi: Right.
Haruka Isumi: Funny man... I guess I'll try my best.
Tenn Kujo: Alright. We have the honor student team. Sogo Osaka, what are the other teams?
Sogo Osaka: Next up is, um...
Sogo Osaka: Mitsuki Izumi, Tamaki Yotsuba, Ryunosuke Tsunashi, and Toma Inumaru.
Tamaki Yotsuba: Ooh! I get to be with Mikki! And Ryu-aniki! And Marucchi!
Mitsuki Izumi: Ahaha! Quit jumping around!
Ryunosuke Tsunashi: He looks so happy! It's adorable!
Toma Inumaru: Ahaha, glad to have you! Okay, I guess we're borrowing your partner.
Sogo Osaka: Haha. Look after him, okay?
Yamato Nikaido: What's your team name?
Mitsuki Izumi: Team name!? I dunno. What do you think, Tamaki?
Tamaki Yotsuba: If Iorin's team is Team Honor Students, then we're rascals! Team Rascals!
Ryunosuke Tsunashi: That's so cute! Let's all be rascals, then!
Toma Inumaru: Yep! On to the next team!
Toma Inumaru: Sogo Osaka! Nagi Rokuya! Momo-san! Tora!
Sogo Osaka: It's a pleasure to be working with you.
Nagi Rokuya: OH! It is a pleasure!
Torao Mido: The pleasure's all mine.
Momo: I'm surrounded by rich boys!
Sogo Osaka: You're rich yourself, Momo-san. Like the... I... I... I...
Torao Mido: You okay?
Nagi Rokuya: OH! The ita car! They made an ita car for TRIGGER!
Gaku Yaotome: That thing was a big help for us.
Momo: I know, but unlike you guys, I'm nouveau riche! You guys are the real deal!
Torao Mido: The real deal...
Momo: Just because I look like a celeb doesn't mean I am one on the inside.
Momo: I probably couldn't tell the difference between caviar and flying fish roe that's just been dyed black...
Sogo Osaka: What makes you say that?
Nagi Rokuya: OH... Are you feeling ill?
Momo: Don't look at me with your pure celeb eyes..!
Toma Inumaru: So what's your team name?
Torao Mido: Team Celeb?
Momo: You're really driving me into a corner, huh!?
Nagi Rokuya: OH, worry not, Mister Momo.
Nagi Rokuya: Our status may not affect our senses as much as you think.
Nagi Rokuya: It will merely allow us to feel a single pea underneath countless mattresses.
Momo: That means you have to be super well-bred... I guess you are a prince, after all...
Nagi Rokuya: Hiii.
Momo: A prince winked at me! I'll do my best..!
Sogo Osaka: Well then, that leaves the last team.
Sogo Osaka: Riku-kun, Yaotome-san, Yuki-san, and Natsume-san.
Riku Nanase: Wow! One of each!
Yuki: Ah, you're right.
Gaku Yaotome: And we're the only ones. Awesome!
Minami Natsume: ......? "One of each"? What do you mean?
Riku Nanase: Our team is the only one that has someone from IDOLiSH7, TRIGGER, Re:vale, and ŹOOĻ.
Minami Natsume: Ah... That's true.
Nagi Rokuya: OH! How wonderful! You are like a symbol of our peace.
Yuki: What about Momo's team?
Momo: We don't have anyone from TRIGGER.
Gaku Yaotome: We've got someone representing every group. I bet we'll have a fun time filming!
Riku Nanase: True! We can share stories about our groups!
Minami Natsume: I look forward to working with you all. Well then, as Rokuya-san so aptly referred to us, let's call ourselves Team Peace.
Yuki: Sounds good to me.
Gaku Yaotome: I doubt any of us would get into a fight, anyway!
Riku Nanase: Let's all work together!
Toma Inumaru: Alright! That's it for the teams!
Sogo Osaka: Let's begin coming up with idol-themed dishes.
Mitsuki Izumi: Finally!
Yamato Nikaido: We're finally getting started!
Gaku Yaotome: Let's give a round of applause!
Torao Mido: ...Are you guys always like this?
Sogo Osaka: Yes, we are.
Momo: Okay, let's keep going!
Ryunosuke Tsunashi: Let's do our best!
To be continued...

Password: KAME-HAME-FORGET ABOUT IT!
um, this is to anyone [except for hifumi, tsumugi, or tenko... sorry...], though if chiaki or chihiro could maybe pitch in, that'd be great...
TW: mention of s//icidal ideation
could I... just have some reassurance that I'm real...? that... sounds so dumb when I say it out loud, but... it would appear that those I know and love... when I'm not around or with them, they're... so much more happier without me. smiling and laughing, without a care in the world. I feel like them and everyone else would be better off without me...
I don't even have a plan... I'm too much of a coward to even try... it's just on my mind a lot. I haven't even s//lf-h//rmed or anything... it's just my mind constantly being clouded with those type of thoughts. I just... could really use some reassurance, and maybe just a hug...
Hi anon, I'm happy to pitch in! Hey, no, that doesn't sound dumb at all! You're not the first person I've talked to who has that problem, and it's actually pretty serious. I'm really glad you came to us with this, that took a lot of bravery, and now hopefully I can give you some help. The people who know and love you aren't happier without you. They care about you just as much as you care about them.
Tumblr media
As crazy as this sounds, seeing what you're seeing is actually a trick of your brain. No one would be happier without you, I promise you that. No one would be better off without you. It's a good thing that you don't have a plan, and that you're too afraid to go through with it. I don't think that ending your life is ever the best answer for something. I'm glad you haven't self harmed either. I know it's scary, and I'm so sorry you're thinking about this that often. I think you should talk to a professional about this. This is a serious problem, and I don't want your mind to be clouded with those thoughts. You deserve to live a long, happy life surrounded by those that love you. So please, please reach out.
Tumblr media
I wish I could help you, but I don't have the professional knowledge to help you as much as you need. I can tell you that you're real though. You're real, and everyone can see you. The people around you care about you and love you, and you're just as real as everyone else. Of course I can give you a hug! I'm so so sorry you're hurting, but it's possible for you to get better. You're real anon, no matter what.

I will admit, I was a bit confused when you asked for reassurance that you’re real, but I have a grasp of understanding on what you mean now…..I think.
Tumblr media
I want to also say: please never make a plan. You aren’t a coward but I would hate to know that you’ve taken away something that can never be brought back. You may think that others are happier when you’re not with or around them but that’s far from the truth.
Tumblr media
They would be devastated to lose you, even if you believe otherwise. Anyone close to you would be crushed if something happened to you. I know that Fujisaki and I would be devastated too.
Tumblr media
Now, while I hug you, I want to tell you that perhaps you should consider seeing a professional about these kind of thoughts. It sounds awful but a professional could definitely help figure out what’s going on more than I could. Having your thought invaded by thoughts that could lead to potentially causing harm to yourself, that’s not good.
Tumblr media
I can’t stress enough how much I want to help you, I wish I was a professional so  I can help you right here and now but unfortunately, I’m not. You’re definitely real and your feelings are valid, please don’t forget that.
Tumblr media
Now then, I hope this hug has been helping you. You’re going to make it through this level, I promise.
Tumblr media
-
Hope you don’t mind me going in as well. I want to help you in this.. You are 100% real, you exist here just like the rest of the people around you. Your loved ones wouldn’t be any happier if you weren’t around, quite the opposite, they would be devastated to see you go. Even if you feel like they'd happier without you, I promise you that your presence makes their day better! Your loved ones deeply care about you, so you should speak to them about these feelings you’re going through, they’ll surely understand and will do their best to help you out.
Tumblr media
Not having a plan isn’t a bad thing, it doesn’t make you a coward either, it shows that deep down you still want to keep going and that the hope is still in there inside you. You just have to stay strong and seek help so it can grow bigger, suicide or self-harm is never the the answer to anything. It will only make things worse for yourself and those around you, nobody would want you to be in any sort of harm. It wouldn’t benefit anyone and much less yourself. You need to speak out to someone close to you as soon as possible.
Tumblr media
It’s going to be alright, anonymous. You will get through this and be better than ever before, I promise. No matter how much the thoughts try to drag you down, if you do your best to stay on your feet you will overcome them sooner than you think, you are strong, you can do this. If a hug’s what you want, a hug is what you will get with no problem.

Wattpad request- Amacha oneshot. Not spoiler free
I just love writing for Amacha! This ship needs a lot of growth in order to make it happen and I just love writing for it. This one is platonic not romantic since that's what I felt like writing.
Tumblr media
3rd person POV
Tenko was walking around the 'school' wondering what she was going to do. The killing game began. She could feel safe around girls but many of the male students made her feel nervous. Thinking that even though she might probably win a fight with them if they try anything she can't deny possibility of surprise attack. The anxiety was slowly killing her from the inside, however she remained her energetic self. She had to, otherwise she could lose herself to despair and do something regrettable.
As she continued exploring on her own she felt someone tap her shoulder. She immediately grabbed that person's hand and threw them on the ground. After seeing her attacker's face- wich was Rantaro she yelled "YOU TRIED SOMETHING YOU FILTHY DEGENERATE!?"
Sitting up he rubbed his back in pain "No... I just was wondering what you were doing here all alone. After all it's quite dangerous, but I see that you are more than capable of self defense" he looked at her "I guess it's my bad for approaching you in such way though..."
"Ugh of course it is" she crossed her arms. Rantaro stood up "Well I guess I'll get going since you neither need help nor you want me around"
"What's with me needing any help? Do you think I need someone like you to guard me!?"
"I'm sorry that I didn't wanted anyone wandering off on their own" he said annoyed.
"You can't expect me to believe that! You can be plotting something and acting like you mean well"
"You have a point I might not seem trustworthy. I'll leave you to whatever you were going to do, goodbye" with that he left.
She felt uneasy around him but now she felt even worse alone, although her pride didn't let her admit to her mistake. She decided to finish exploring at that and tried to take her mind off everything. So she thought that exercise was in order.
Running around the building she thought about her encounter with Rantaro wich was exactly the opposite of what she wanted. It made her even more angry "Stupid degenerate... Thinking that I need help. If someone he needs it more! The audacity!" she started running faster "Who does he think he is!"
"Tenko?" she heard someone call her name out once she turned towards source of the voice it ended up being Kaede. Her angry expression quickly changed into a smile "Hello Kaede! What are you doing out here?"
"I was about to go to my room but I noticed you here all alone so I came by to check on you. After all it's dangerous to be all by yourself at times like these"
"Aww you are so considerate! Unlike that degenerate..." she crossed her hands. The pianist's curiosity took over as she decided to ask "Huh? Did something happen earlier?"
"That guy with green hair- what was his name again...?"
"Rantaro?"
"Yeah him! He just came up to me and said that he was 'wondering what I was doing all alone' and I know better than that to believe him. He definitely was plotting something!"
"How can you know for sure?" Kaede tilted her head "I know what kind of situation we are in but if we're going to suspect everybody then we can't move forward"
Tenko fell silent and tried to think through her actions. Seeing her suddenly lost in thought Kaede quickly said "But if you want to suspect him it's okay! After all nobody can know who you can trust without doubts"
"You're right" Tenko looked at her "He just gives off this suspicious aura... I mean we don't even know his talent! He definitely does hide something but don't worry if anything happens I will protect all the girls!"
"Of course you will" Kaede smiled "Sorry but I'll have to leave you now I'm pretty exhausted" the pianist fake-yawned.
"Sleep well!!!" Tenko said energetically before she parted her ways with Kaede. She continued her small exercise and thought yet again of what Kaede said to her.
"I must keep an eye on him so he has no time to strike!" she thought loud "But how do I do it? Follow him?" she had no idea what to do next. However she decided to look for him right away.
"Earlier he just came out of nowhere and now I can't find him anywhere!" she continued her search. When she finally found him he decided to walk in the opposite direction.
"HEY!" Tenko shouted making him turn around "Are you talking to me?"
"Who else?" she said and quickly realized that she didn't know what to say.
"Alright then, what do you want?" he asked, although earlier he was annoyed now his voice was calm and collected.
She got an idea it was rather risky but she decided to swallow her pride "I wanted to apologize for snapping at you earlier" he didn't expect to hear that from her but he didn't wait to answer "I guess we're both to blame. I should have called for you like you just did instead of surprising you" he smiled at her and she smiled back "Well I'm glad we settled that out, I'll be on my way" he turned around but she quickly grabbed his hand "WAIT! Let me go with you"
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah! After all I think I proved last time that you are pretty defenseless... and I don't want to worry about someone more than I have to" the last part was quite hard for her to say. After all saying stuff like that when you don't mean it was never easy.
"Well I can't stop you if you want to go with me"
'Sweet' she thought as she noticed that her plan was working. She was just following him around as he felt quite uneasy feeling her staring at him in silence.
The two heard voices coming from the game room. Rantaro decided to enter it thinking that whoever was there could get rid of the akward silence between him and Tenko.
"Rantaro, Tenko! Look Tsumigi did my nails for me!" Kaede said showing off her nails "Whaaa!? Don't show them off like they are something flashy!"
Despite Tsumigi's request Tenko got closer to take the look "So cuuuute!"
"See Tsumigi! Tenko agrees they are adorable!"
"They are not that amazing..."
"Ooh painting your nails, huh? You know, I can do that too" Rantaro admitted and the girls turned towards him.
"You can!? But you're a boy" Kaede asked lowkey surprised.
"Could it be you've done it for your girlfriend? Or girlfriends? Y-"
"Wait! Pause!" Tenko said crossing her arms "Let him speak becouse I don't want to even think of those possibilities!"
"Are you jealous?" Kaede teased.
"Wha-? Why would I be??" Tenko looked at Kaede.
"Well either way that's not the case. No girlfriend or anything. What gave you the impression?" he stopped Kaede and her further teasing. Even though they just made up he still could feel that Tenko felt uneasy around him and he didn't wanted it to get worse.
"Yeah I guess you wouldn't have one. You seem like one of those types" Tsumigi spoke up "I was just messing around earlier"
"Wait what do you mean by those types?" Kaede was confused.
"A gradient is nice" Rantaro thought out loud "But with nails like yours Kaede, I recommend a French slant"
"French slant? Is that some kinda cooking technique?" both Kaede and Tenko said at the same time. Kaede giggled shortly afterwards.
"Haha no it's a kind of design" he explained "It will be faster to just show you. May I?"
"You'll do it for me? Then yes, please!"she seemed excited.
"Alright then" he got closer to Kaede and began working on her nails.
"Do you mind being still?" he asked and she immediately corrected herself.
Tenko looked quite annoyed "Hey Tsumigi" when Tsumigi faced her she continued "Can you do my nails too?"
"What?" she asked surprised "I really love the way you did it for Kaede and I want something like that too! Unless you don't want to..."
"No it's oka-"
"Wow! It looks amazing!" Kaede said excited "Maybe you are actually the ultimate Nail artist!"
"Tsumugi, Tenko look!" she showed it off yet again.
"I'm glad you like it, but I think you are overreacting a little bit" he smiled awkwardly.
"Stupid normies..." Tsumugi said under her breath and left.
"Wait don't leave!" Tenko tried to stop her but it wasn't enough "Damn I wanted cute nails too..."
"I can do yours too if you want" he suggested.
"I guess it will do" she sighs. She really wanted her nails done by Tsumigi.
"I'll leave you two be if that's the case" Kaede winked "NO" Tenko shouted but it was for nothing since Kaede just smiled and closed the door of the game room.
"Listen if you're not comfortable being with me alone I understand. You don't need to act Tenko" he said in rather serious tone.
"I don't know what you're talking about" she looked away.
"Yeah you definitely don't" he rolled his eyes.
"I want to get along with you. I just don't know what to do or say" she didn't knew anymore whether she was lying or not. After all her first goal was to keep an eye on him. She told herself that he's the enemy and acted rather hostile yet all he did was understand her? It might have been just a bunch of empty words but she didn't feel like that was the truth.
"Let's try this again okay?" she requested before reaching her hand out "I'm Tenko Chabashira! Ultimate Aikido master! What's your name?"
He looked at her hand, smiled, then shook it "Rantaro Amami, I can't remember my talent but I hope that's not a problem for you"
"You can't remember?" she pretended to be shocked "Then let's help you remember together!" the two laughed after that little act and carried on.
"Do you still want me to do your nails?"
"Absolutely!" she paused and realized something "Wait... Kaede took the nail polish" she looked disappointed.
"Well we can do something else"
"Like what?"
He thought for a while "Doesn't your hair get in your way while you train? I can show you few hairstyles that will both look cute on you and won't be an inconvenience. And if you want to keep them long I can do something more special"
"That sounds great!"
=>???
"A Body has been discovered!"
Tenko immediately looked at the nearby screen. Just looking at that bear made her want to punch it but now something more important is happening.
"Everyone, please gather in the library!"
"Oh no..." she looked at the corpse.
"W-why?" she murmured as her eyes started tearing up "Why does it hurt so much?" she thought.
"It's a joke, right?" There was no mistaking it. It was Rantaro. Someone who she talked to, laughed with... Is no longer alive.
She wanted to break down but considering everyone was there too she couldn't allow herself to be weak.
"Tenko?" Tsumigi said looking concerned. As a response she wiped away her tears and smiled at her like nothing ever happened "Do you need something Tsumigi?"

Summer Breeze || One-Shot Juza Hyodo x Reader
Contains: Fluff, Profanity (It’s Juza), Juza x Reader.
Juza could literally feel beads of sweat forming on his forehead in the stifling heat. He swiped at them with his palm, sighing heavily. Cicadas’ chirps buzzed across the courtyard and straight into his eardrums, another irritating staple of the current season. This was not the ideal place to try and concentrate on his lines, but he felt more reluctant to go back inside and deal with Settsu’s constant bitching. Even if he had to sweat it out here, he could deal with that if it meant
some peace and quiet.
More important was his role. Tsuzuru had finished up earlier than expected, and looking over what he’d been assigned… He wasn’t quite sure how to go about it. It just wasn’t him, and his frustration only ate away at him every day he found himself out here, practically glaring holes into the paper. What in the hell was a romance subplot doing in an Autumn troupe play? Better yet, why did Minagi think casting him for it was a good idea? He should know Juza wasn’t suitable to portray some dumbly lovestruck guy...
Well, maybe that was a lie.
As if somehow on cue, Juza caught a figure emerging from the dorms out of the corner of his eye. It was (Y/N), (Favourite Drink) in one hand and a tall glass of water in the other. Hung around their elbow was a basket he knew would contain an assortment of treats.
He quickly pressed the copy closed, cast it out of his mind. To see their happy face right now was suddenly far more appealing than getting worked up over lines and lines of increasingly confusing dialogue— he didn’t get creative types at all. Besides, his taste buds were all but crying out for something sweet.
“Hi, Juza!” They chirped in a greeting, smiling widely from ear to ear. He felt warmth radiate through his chest at the sight.
“...Hey.”
As they came closer, (Y/N)‘s brows knit together in an expression of concern. They’d obviously noticed how unhealthily baked he must’ve looked by now. Juza suddenly felt self-conscious, and leaned back, raking a sweaty hand through his hair, as if that would help his case.
(Y/N) looked over him, sympathetically, and extended the tall glass to him; “Here, drink this. In this kind of weather you really need to stay hydrated…” He, obedient, accepted it with lowered eyes, feeling a little guilty that he had made them worry over him. Only a grunt of thanks could escape his throat as he knocked it down a little too eagerly.
Juza swallowed, and tried again; “Thanks, (Y/N)...” Always more gruff than intended. It didn’t matter. Unlike everyone else, they had never been afraid. Certainly not now; as when they laughed, the sound was warm and seemed to fill the entire courtyard.
“You’re welcome. Mind if I sit?” They needed no invitation, of course, and hefted the basket higher up their shoulder to fit beside him. It was pleasantly comforting to feel their added weight settle on the bench.
Juza shifted to make space, only to find he’d been practically glued to the wooden surface after sitting in the same place for too long. He squinted up at the sky; it must have been a while now since he’d come out to the courtyard. He could’ve sworn the sun wasn’t so low before… When he looked back at (Y/N), who began to set out all the goodies they’d brought, all he could think was how radiant they looked now, as the sun’s golden rays of light shone on their hair, their eyes.
They cast him a glance, momentarily, and found he couldn’t quite meet their gaze, so he just stuffed a pastry into his mouth, wishing he could convey how much he loved them- their baking, without having to use words. He was too clumsy for that.
(Y/N), having finished up setting out the whole mini-picnic, sipped at their own drink with a hum of contentment. “...Hope they ain’t botherin’ you in there.” At this, they seemed to hesitate, glancing over their shoulder toward where they’d came. “They’re not, it’s just…” (Y/N) trailed off. Juza knew the feeling. It might have seemed peaceful on the outside, but faint whoops and hollers could still be heard from where they were. Summer troupe in particular could be pretty rowdy, especially hot on the heels of a performance.
“Anyway!” They turned back to him, eager for a subject change, “You having trouble with the script?” Juza blinked, nodding slowly. “Sorta.’” He admitted.
“Tsuzuru… Don’t get what he was goin’ for.” He took up the script again, as well as another pastry, and (Y/N) leaned closer to peer at it, eyebrows drawn. “Why not?”
He hesitated for a moment, but decided it would be something he’d be practicing with them watching anyway.
“Just read.” He said, and held it up to the light for a better view.
They cast him a curious glance, but after a moment of looking over the lines, seemed to digest his meaning, and sat back in equal confusion. “It’s, um… Not what I’d expect from an Autumn play?”
“Yeah. ‘S weird.”
He popped yet another pastry in his mouth, most of the contents of the basket having already disappeared in the same fashion. (Y/N) seemed lost in thought for the moment, seemingly having found a use for his script as a kind of folding-fan. He briefly wondered if they’d eat anything themselves. He’d try his best to leave some for them…
Suddenly, they shot up, a gleam in their eyes. “Juza!” They exclaimed. “You’ve probably memorised those lines by now, right?” Yeah, by now he should hope so...
He raised a brow.
(Y/N) blew out a puff of air. “You can use me as, like a… Practice dummy, I guess? Remember when we did that way back when? Gives you something to focus on.” They explained, hopefully, sounding almost out of breath. He did, but… Juza stiffened, aware of exactly what that would entail this time around.
“...Are you okay with that?” Although he asked this more to himself than anything.
“Of course! I’m the one suggesting it, aren’t I?” They moved to the centre of the courtyard, drink in hand. A light gust of wind picked up, carrying the faint aroma of Tsumugi’s well tended flowerbeds. He supposed, if it would help…
“...’Kay,” he nodded, and after picking off what he’d deemed as his share of the basket, stood up to position himself a fair distance in front of them.
His agreement pleased (Y/N), and they showed it, grinning widely from ear to ear. “Alright!” The cool, late-summer breeze was rising, stirring his finer hairs, but he could still himself blush, just a bit; like he always did when they smiled at him like that. Get it together.
After a moment of searching for their own lines, (Y/N) gave him the signal to begin, and he took a sharp intake of breath to recite:
“I’d follow you anywhere, Marcella. Just say the word. My feelings for you will never—“ Juza grimaced. It was all too strange in his voice. He couldn’t say all this sounding like he was about to violently clobber ‘Marcella’ over the head.
“I know, Roderich.” He blinked, surprised. Ad-libbing? “But this is a journey I must undertake alone. Pray, leave me be...” And from an entirely different scene too; but that was probably a mishap. He watched them painedly start away, even mimicking Tsuzuru’s stage directions. They were actually really getting into this, huh? Cute.
No, don’t think about that. Focus. He readied himself into character again, this time where they’d started: “No, you’re only making a mistake! The world beyond the Capital is dangerous; I’ve been there, I’ve seen it!” Juza took their cue, grasping at the air as Roderich would’ve done Marcella, desperately.
(Y/N), stomping their foot in faux indignation, cried out: “Enough! You are my underling, are you not? I order you to release me this instant!”
“I serve the King, and his orders overrule that of his Queen.” He said, firmly.
Marcella scoffed. “The King now lies an invalid for his reckless choices. The man is an incompetent fool, you know that as well as I!”
“Not in this, Marcella, I—“
(Y/N) broke character for a moment so he could recall the rest of it, and sipped again at their drink, to soothe their throat. His heartbeat thumped in his chest, and he realised how much fun practicing with them like this was. Doing anything with them was fun; being together made it so.
Another cooling breeze came in from the West, opposite a falling horizon. Now, he saw that the sun’s rays crawled like fingers across sunset-tinted moss and cement, grasping hold of the courtyard, its fading light soon to be extinguished. However much time he’d passed stewing away inside himself, much more had passed when he spent with (Y/N).
He liked being with them. He loved to be with them. He loved them, he—
“I love you.” And then it was said.
(Y/N) nearly spat out their drink, thumping at their chest to keep it down.
Shit.
They squinted back at their lines, as what he’d just blurted out sank in.
Shit.
“Um… I don’t think that’s…” (Y/N) flipped through his copy in bewilderment as he stood, eyes stuck to the garden tiles, dumb and paralysed. “...In the script?” Shit. “Actually, where was that other thing…?”
A sharp chord of dread struck through him, his throat drier than sandpaper. “...Juza, are you okay?” He knew their searching eyes fell next onto him, but he could not move an inch. Shit. Shit.
“...M’fine.” He grumbled, harsher than he meant it to be. Anyone else would have felt threatened. (Y/N) just frowned.
“You’re clearly not.” He felt them move steadily closer. “Juza, you know it’s okay if you made a mistake, right?”
Shit. He did, but he had to say it now. He had already said it.
“I—I mean, I wasn’t expecting it but… I’m sure it’s not so easy to remember all those lines, right?”
No hiding anymore.
“It wasn’t.” He looked straight ahead now, his mouth practically moving of its own accord. “A mistake, I mean.” He took a sharp intake of breath. “Or part of the script, I—…”
“...Said it ‘cos I meant it.”
(Y/N) froze in place, as if that was all he’d needed to say. “Wait— you meant it— I…” He didn’t know why they were so surprised. If he hadn’t fallen for them by now he would’ve been an idiot.
“So—… So that wasn’t part of the—…”
“Yeah.”
A moment of silence fell between them.
“...I’m sorry. Ya’ don’t have to say anything.”
He turned away. Now he’d gone out and said it, Juza knew the best thing he could do now was leave. Forget it ever happened.
He wouldn’t forget the way (Y/N) had closed the distance between them, throwing their arms firmly around his neck to halt his withdrawal.
He could feel the warmth of their flushed cheeks and the fluttering of their eyelashes. It was something that really shouldn’t have happened, but their lips felt real against his. They tasted sweet.
His heartbeat pulsed in his throat as they drew back, still close enough to exchange breathless sighs.
“I—...” Juza felt his face burn red. What had just happened?
“Um— me too.” (Y/N) said quietly. They looked like he felt, their earlier boldness tapering off into a meek . “...Kinda for a while now.”
Their grip slackened, but he counteracted with an almost involuntary hold of his own. They leaned into him.
“...You’re...Sure?” He said quietly, almost afraid they’d disappear if he didn’t keep them close to him, physically.
“Yes.” They stated, a hard sureness to their voice. He felt his stomach tighten, subject to a thousand butterflies. “Did you mean it?”
“Yes.” With finality, and with newfound confidence leaned in to kiss (Y/N) again, locked in true embrace.
They stayed like that for a long time.
Requested by @nervwrecked, I hope it’s soft enough for you! If I’m being honest, Juza (and love scenes in general...) is kinda hard for me to write? Yikes
Thanks for the ask! •v•

Tsunashi Ryuunosuke: Wonderful Octave Rabbit Chat Part 3
Nagi: Has everyone gathered? Then, let’s start gathering requests for Tsunashi-shi again!
Nagi:└(o゜∀゜o)┘WASSHOI!!
Tsumugi: Nagi-san! It seems like you’ve become cheerful again huh!
Mitsuki: The recorded data was there. lol He’d just put it on a different hard drive than usual!
Nagi: I’m sorry for making you all wait. But, my heart is shaking with pleasure.
Ryuunosuke: That’s great, Nagi-kun! It’s a show that you love so you want to be able to watch it anytime huh.
Nagi: Tsunashi-shi, You are kind to all people without discrimination huh.
Ryuunosuke: Is that so? I’m glad you praised me!
Nagi: Yamato, Mitsuki, I’m also grateful to you guys.
Yamato: Then I’m glad.
Mitsuki: I’m happy Nagi became cheerful lol.
Tsumugi: The recorded data was found safely, so I’ll collect requests again!
Tsumugi:So then, Mitsuki-san please give your request for Tsunashi-san!
Mitsuki: Got it!
Mitsuki: From me it’s “Please tell us what you want to play with the Sports club”!
Mitsuki: Tsunashi-san’s birthday is close so we’ll do whatever with you!
Momo: Yeah yeah! We’ll entertain you. ☆
Ryuunosuke: I don’t want you to entertain me…  It feel sad to play sports while thinking “I keep winning points huh” lol
Momo: It’s fine! I won’t go easy on you. lol
Mitsuki: I’ll entertain you in a serious way!
Ryuunosuke: Well then I’m glad!
Ryuunosuke: I mean, that’s just a usual sports club.
Momo: Definitely! (ノ゜o゜)ノ
Mitsuki: Our eyes would be glaring, we would be having a serious match, but maybe we will praise you like ”As expected of Tsunashi-san!” “As an expected jump!” lol
Ryuunosuke: That’s actually scary! Lol
Mitsuki: Right lololol.
Mitsuki: We gather and play often so it feels like we did everything. But I’d be happy if we could play a little differently than usual.
Ryuunosuke: That’s a high hurdle huh! But it seems fun to be able to do something new with everyone.
Ryuunosuke: I’ll look it up online and think of various things.
Mitsuki: Yes! Please take care of it!
Tsumugi: Everyone in the sports club always seems friendly and fun!
Tsumugi: Next is the request from Yamato-san please!
Yamato: From me it’s “Do a free talk while saying the opposite of what you are thinking.”
Ryuunosuke: Eh! How is that?
Yamato: I’ll prepare the theme, so you say the opposite of what you are thinking or feeling.
Yamato: You’ll talk without telling the listeners what the theme is. They’ll listen to it while thinking about what it could be, then how about revealing the answer after the talk ends?
Iori: That sounds interesting. It’s like a psychological game or a werewolf game.
Yamato: Like that. I thought it would be fun if you could do a game with the MC and the listeners.
Yamato: Tsunashi-san is honest and doesn’t seem to like lying so, that kind of thing would be fun right?
Ryuunosuke: It seems hard but I want to try it!
Yuki: It seems you’d be the worst at it tho.
Ryuunosuke: I-It’s not! Probably..!
Gaku: Then, let’s test it out a little. The theme is “fresh soba”.
Mitsuki: Because October is soba season huh!
Iori: Somehow, that makes me want to eat soba.
Ryuunosuke: Got it. It’s fine if I say the opposite of what I’m thinking right.
Yamato: Let me see how well you’ll do it.
Ryuunosuke: Um, it’s thick, short, foreign food with no broth.
Sougo: That was good!
Yuki: That starts it off well.
Ryuunosuke: I don’t like the taste of it. I’m disappointed when it comes out as lunch.
Gaku: Ryuu… Did you actually dislike it…?
Ryuunosuke: N-No! It’s the opposite! It’s the theme Gaku came up with though?!
Gaku: Oh yeah. (lol)
Tenn: You forgot that way too fast.
Ryuunosuke: Um, what can I say next. I got confused…!
Ryuunosuke: As Tenn says, I might be terrible at this after all.
Ryuunosuke: Yamato-kun seems good at a werewolf game like Doubt! I always lose when we play together…
Yamato: You’re easy to understand so you’re fun to play with. (lol) I’m good at reading what people are thinking about in the first place.
Ryuunosuke: Uu, you are a powerful enemy…!
Tamaki: I’m also bad at lying.
Tamaki: They immediately found out that I was the werewolf.
Yamato: Tama and Riku are easy to understand huh. Stay that way.
Riku: Eh! I don’t think it’s like that though…!
Iori: It is though…
Ryuunosuke: I’ll practice until the on-air to be able to say the opposite well!
Tsumugi: If you choose that request, it’ll become a fun game!
Tsumugi: Next is Yaotome-san please!
Gaku: Yeah. From me it’s, “Tell me a place you’d want to drive to together.”
Gaku: Because it’s almost your birthday. I’ll take you to a place you want to go!
Ryuunosuke: Thanks, Gaku! I’m happy!
Gaku: We often only drive around a little since we don’t have enough time, but when we have time, don’t you want to go further?
Ryuunosuke: That’s nice! Like aiming to go to Hokkaido or Kyushu, going across Japan.
Gaku: And, it’s basic but it’s nice to drive along the sea!
Ryuunosuke: It's a little bit chill but it’s the best to open the window! Feeling the ocean breeze across my face. lol
Gaku: So then, your hair would become messy huh. (lol)
Tenn: When you two talk like this you sound like children.
Ryuunosuke: If we can match our schedules, Tenn should come too! If it’s near our place, we could go after work.
Tenn: And my hair would get messed up too? No way.
Gaku: But that’s fun though?
Ryuunosuke: I’ll bring a hairbrush!
Gaku: Well then, how about I brush and fix your bangs then (lol)
Tenn: I can do it myself. You two don’t seem to be particularly good at it.
Ryuunosuke: Because Tenn is good at it huh!
Tsumugi: A scene of TRIGGER-san driving, just that seems like it would make a wonderful MV!
Tsumugi: So then to continue, Tsunashi-san please give a request for yourself.
Ryuunosuke: Yes. My request is “Try doing a tongue twister!”
Tenn: Is that fine? Didn’t you bite your tongue when you tried before.
Ryuunosuke: It’s because of that! I want to succeed this time!
Riku: That reminds me, when I visited the greenroom, you were practicing tongue twisters huh!
Sougo: When Tsunashi-san was alone in the greenroom?
Riku: That’s right! I could hear him whispering something quietly…
Ryuunosuke: Uwaaaah, I was heard..!
Ryuunosuke: Actually, I’ve been practicing secretly. Because it’s frustrating that I can’t do it well…
Yuki: Heeh. Ryuunosuke-kunh, you’re a hard worker huh.
Gaku: You were doing that kind of thing? Even though I would’ve practiced with you if you’d told me.
Ryuunosuke: It’s not something to practice with someone, and anyways, it’s embarrassing to be seen while practicing.
Tenn: But, you were doing it at home too right. I saw you too.
Ryuunosuke: Eh!
Ryuunosuke: Tenn, you were watching..?
Tenn: You were always saying, “Banana no nazo wa mada nazo nanodazo” so at first I thought something had happened.
Momo: Why did you choose that tongue twister lololol.
Yuki: Marvelous.
Ryuunosuke: Uwaaaaaah! This is embarrassing..!
Ryuunosuke: Ah, that reminds me, one day you were strangely kind to me, like you’d made tea and such...
Tenn: I was relieved to know you were practicing tongue twisters.
Ryuunosuke: [Sweating Pudding Stamp]
Tsumugi: The result of your steady hard work, I want to see it at the request corner…!
Tsumugi: So then, Momo-san, will you let us hear your request for Tsunashi-san please?
Momo: OK! (・∀・)ゞ
Momo: From me it’s, “Show a fully sexy Tsunashi Ryuunosuke★”(゜∀゜◎ノノ☆
Ryuunosuke: Fully sexy...!
Momo: Calmness is Ryuu’s charm too, but your wildness & sexiness is one of your strong weapons! It’s a lethal weapon!
Momo: It’s the radio so you would show it through sound like by reading a sexy line with emotion!
Momo: Because we miss a sexy Ryuu~!
Yuki: I get it. I can’t forget the days we were tossed around by wild Ryuunosuke-kun.
Gaku: Um, please don’t tease him too much (lol)
Gaku: He’s crying to us like, “Did I do that kind of thing to Re:vale-san?!”
Momo: Ryuu’s cute~~~~ (〇´Д`人´Д`〇)
Yuki: I mean we were tossed around by watching TV.
Ryuunosuke: I’m glad…! I didn’t remember anything so I thought I did something after drinking.
Yuki: Yeah. That reminds me, you at a drinking party one day...
Ryuunosuke: Eh?!
Yuki: Just kidding, it’s a joke.
Ryuunosuke: My heart almost stopped…!
Momo: Yuki~! You’re teasing our cute kouhai too much \”(*`ェ´*)ノ
Yuki: Sorry, his reaction was fun so. ^ ^
Ryuunosuke: [Sweating Pudding Stamp]
Tsumugi: The fans would be happy with a fully sexy Tsunashi-san!
Tsumugi: So then, how about a request from Yuki-san last?
Yuki: From me it’s “Show us a fully fresh Tsunashi Ryuunosuke.”
Ryuunosuke: It’s the complete opposite of Momo-san’s!
Yuki: Yeah. Lately, besides your sexy image, natural Ryuunosuke-kun’s image is also spreading among your fans.
Yuki: If you talk freely as usual, the listeners will also be happy.
Ryuunosuke: Thank you…! I also feel like the atmosphere with the fans has changed a little from before. Not just the image they saw on TV, but they are accepting the natural side of me...
Ryuunosuke: So I’m happy that Yuki-san said that!
Ryuunosuke: Even though I’m not really confident about whether the natural me is fresh. Lol
Iori: Tsunashi-san is fresh. It’s like representing a good young man.
Sougo: It’s as Iori-kun says!
Nagi: You are a light attribute.
Ryuunosuke: Attribute?! Am I going to fight something…?
Tamaki: It would be funny if you pick Momorin’s request and Yukirin’s request.
Momo: It’s “Is he sexy! Is he fresh! Which one do you like?!”
Okazaki: That’s a pretty old song huh!
Anesagi: Quite old huh. Well, I wasn’t there at that time tho?
Ryuunosuke: If I pull Yuki-san’s request, I’ll be able to talk freely in a relaxed manner huh!
Tsumugi: Thank you for the wonderful request!
Tsumugi: Those are all the requests for Tsunashi-san. Thank you everyone!
Gaku: Next is Ryuu’s request for us huh!
Mitsuki: Please say anything!
*Tsumugi: Do you have a request for us?
Ryuunosuke: I’m thinking of trying to make an apple pie now. I want to make a lot so please come over next time!
Ryuunosuke: Please take care of me!
Momo: It’s being Ryuu-ish but, even though it’s an opportunistic request, is that kind of thing okay?
Yamato: It feels like his usual (lol)
Ryuunosuke: Even though we’re this friendly, I don’t know what I should ask for beyond this.
Gaku: Even though your birthday’s close by!
Tamaki: Then we’ll say a lot of congratulations.
Tenn: The tradition of the request group chat huh.
Tamaki: Ryuu-aniki, HBD! Please let me eat hamburgers again.
Riku: Happy Birthday! I also want to eat Tsunashi-san’s hamburgers again!
Momo: \(o(ゝェ・o)ノ/゜・:*【HAPPY BIRTHDAY】*:・゜\(oゝェ・o)ノ
Iori: Happy Birthday.
Sougo: Happy Birthday. I will pray that it will be a wonderful year.
Mitsuki: Happy birthday, Tsunashi-san! As my idol friend, cooking friend, and sport club member, let’s be friends for this year too!
Nagi: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Yamato: Happy Birthday. I’m looking forward to your radio.
Yuki: Happy birthday. If something happens, I’ll support you.
Banri: Happy Birthday!
Okazaki: Tsunashi-san, Happy Birthday. Please continue to be friends with Re:vale from now on too.
Anesagi: Happy birthday. I’m happy to be you guys’ manager for TRIGGER. Please take care of me from now on too.
Tsumugi: Tsunashi-san, Happy Birthday! Ryuunosuke: Everyone, thanks..!
Ryuunosuke: I’m happy that we could celebrate in a lively way this year too. I will treasure the words of celebration and requests!
Ryuunosuke: The “TWELVE HITS!” radio show will surely be a wonderful one. Please look forward to it.
Gaku: Look forward to us celebrating you on your actual birthday!
Ryuunosuke: Thanks! Of course, I’m looking forward to it!
V2:
Mitsuki: Please say anything!
Tsumugi: Do you have any requests for TRIGGER-san?
Ryuunosuke: We talked about it earlier but, going on a drive altogether! Other than that, I want to do lots of things together other than just jobs!
Ryuunosuke: Please take care of me!
V3:
Mitsuki: Please say anything!
Tsumugi: Do you have any requests for Re:vale-san?
Ryuunosuke: I hang out with Momo-san at the sports club so I’d be happy to do something together with Yuki-san too! Could you teach me how to cook a vegetable dish next time?
Ryuunosuke: Please take care of me!

After We Get Out
Description: Kaede makes a cafe date with someone she hasn't seen since the game, despite her friend's warnings. Word Count: 1429
Read on AO3 here
Out the window fat snowflakes fluttered through the air, some sticking to the glass, some joining the grey slush in the street as people crowded the sidewalk. Mud and snow mixed and tracked on people’s boots, trailing in puddles into the little cafe. In her corner booth near the window, Kaede was glad to be out of it for a bit. She traced a finger along the chilly glass, drawing out the staff and bars. Idly she plotted the clef and notes to a song in the condensation, wondering if this was as terrible an idea as everyone else had thought it was. She lifted her finger from her budding verse, slick with the cold and wet of the outdoors and lightly wiped it on her sleeve. When she glanced up she realized her guest had arrived.
Standing next to the table, almost tentatively waiting for an invitation or permission, was a familiar bespectacled girl, her long blue hair tied in a braid, and peppered in already melting powder snow. Tsumugi Shirogane looked largely the same as she remembered, her vacant eyes, pale and smooth features. Kaede had thought her pretty when they first met too. The cosplayer hadn’t really been around when they had all come to, due to tensions. She was honestly surprised she looked this way both in and out of the game. So many of the others couldn’t quite live up to the selves they expected in the mirror. Kaede sure didn’t see the picture perfect pianist in her own memories.
“Shirogane-san, please sit down,” Kaede said quickly, gesturing to the seat across from her, where the second menu sat. Tsumugi stares at her like a deer in headlights a moment longer, before removing her scarf and sliding down the bench to the offered spot. She mumbled a greeting, keeping her eyes down the entire time. The menu was now a subject of keen interest, apparently. Kaede sighed a bit. She wasn’t sure what she had expected honestly. “Wasn’t hard to find the place, was it?”
“Ah, no it was pretty close to the station, like you said,” Tsumugi replied, adjusting her glasses and glancing to the side.
“Good,” Kaede said brightly, smiling. She didn’t see it.
The silence stretched on as Tsumugi removed her coat. It finally broke when the waitress came around. She took out her notepad and pencils and flashed them a grin.
“Welcome, are you ladies ready to order?”
“Oh, I think we’ll need a minute, she just got-”
“I’ll have milk tea and an omurice special, thank you,” Tsumugi said, cutting her off, handing the menu back. Kaede blinked.
“Uh, I’ll have one, too then! With a melon soda.”
The waitress wrote the orders down and headed back to the kitchen with the menus. The two of them sat opposite each other awkwardly. Kaede smiled again, wincing as Tsumugi’s eyes drifted to the window with no menu to read anymore. She had to take the initiative here, didn’t she.
“So, Shirogane-san, you look good. How have you been?”
“I’ve been the same.”
A pause.
“Well, that’s good to hear! I’ve been doing okay, I just got a new job and-”
“Akamatsu, why did you invite me here?”
“-it’s not music but- huh?”
“Why did you ask me to meet with you? Did something happen? Is this about your contract, or is there an issue? What is it?”
Tsumugi had finally met her eye, and looked so serious. Her eyebrows were drawn together as she searched Kaede’s face. The intensity rose out of nowhere as she leaned in. Kaede could see her own face reflected in her glasses as they fogged up. The blonde pressed back from the table as Tsumugi clasped her hand.
“What do you mean!? Nothing’s happened.”
“Is it paparazzi? Blackmail? I can’t help unless I know the details.”
“Shiroga-”
“I know you didn’t want to stay in contact with the company, but the resources are in place to protect your-”
“Tsumugi, stop! I’m fine!”
The blue haired woman stopped, confusion washing over her expression. The intensity gave way to a nervous look that was more recognizable. She retracted her hand and adjusted her glasses.
“Then, what did you need me for?”
Kaede ran a hand through the back of her hair, this time being the one to break eye contact as her cheeks brightened. No wonder scheduling this had been so easy. She hoped nothing important had been cancelled to run out and see her like this. Beating around the bush would only make matters worse, so Kaede swallowed her nerves and told the truth.
“I wanted to see you, and to try out this cafe together. I didn’t need anything.”
The waitress returned with their drinks, placing them on the table and utterly failing to read the awkward air as she asked if they wanted anything else while they waited. Kaede forced a polite smile, thanked her assuring they were fine. By the time she left, Tsumugi looked like she wanted a map to the conversation. She opened her mouth, and paused with it open. She closed it again. She looked up again, and finally spoke.
“Why?”
“Because we said we would when we got out, right?” Kaede stirred at her soda with her straw, bubbles sticking to it. “I know we didn’t get a lot of time to talk during… or after… but I meant what I said about us getting new hobbies, and maybe going out to cafes. Trying new things.” She sipped her soda, hoping her face wasn’t anywhere near as red as it felt.
“You still wanted to do that? With me?” Tsumugi tilted her head, incredulous in tone. “You watched the game, and you spoke to the others.”
“I did, but I also heard them talk about me, and I’ll be honest, they aren’t all the best judges of character. So I figure I can do some getting to know you myself, and then see what I think after it all. Though I guess I should have said that when I contacted you, haha, I just sort of assumed you meant what you said. Or that even if you didn’t, you wouldn’t mind? Kind of silly now that I’m saying it. I don’t really know how you see me.”
“I don’t mind, no,” Tsumugi adjusted her glasses and took a sip from her milk tea. There was some quiet as they both drank, the noise of the cafe around them light at this hour. She thoughtfully glanced back down and then continued, “But what do you mean how I see you? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?”
Kaede bent the plastic straw a little between her fingers and bit her lip. “Well, you know, the whole… fiction thing. You’re not like the rest of us, you’re… from here. To me I don’t think I’d be able to tell the difference really, but I would totally understand if you didn’t want to hang around with someone when you had a part in writing it all?” She paused letting the straw snap straight again. “With all you said about what’s real and-”
“NO!” The interruption is loud enough that the cafe gets a bit hushed. Outside the window though the snowy bustling world continued on, unperturbed. A bit flustered, Tsumugi shakes her head.
“I… a lot of what I said there was what needed to be said, to end the charade, but… I never thought of you as fake. Everything you said to me felt real, whether you knew the truth or not. You’re the one who realized your only hobby was piano, and made the plans. If anything I’m the one who’s fake. I don’t have the excuse of memories.” Tsumugi tugs at her braid almost anxiously, shame growing on her face.
“Well… can you let me see if I believe that then? While we try out cafes, or cooking or… something?”
“I… sure. I’d love to.”
They smiled at each other a moment, before becoming acutely aware that the waitress has been waiting for their exchange to end, grinning at the edge of their booth. She placed the meals down in front of them, complete with hearts drawn in ketchup on top of the omurice.
“Bon appetit~!” She said with a wink, before she skittered back to the counter. This time Tsumugi went beet red as Kaede laughed. They would definitely need to try some other cafes, lest they get a reputation at this one. The chatter returned in the other booths, they started the meal, and started over fresh.
