For the ask WIP game
Spideypool falling please 😊
Oh I LOVE this one!
It's a 5+1 of spideypool falling for eachother and then Falling For Eachother. Featuring Dadpool because I'm a big fan of his work (Ellie).
"It really creeps me out when you do that, Webs." Wade said, sinking deeper into Peter's beat-up couch and kicking his fluffy-sock-clad feet up onto the other half of it that Peter was perched above. "I like sitting up here, sends all the blood to my brain so that I can beat you quicker," Peter reasoned and as if on queue the tinny TV speaker announced yet another victory. "You're such an asshole, Baby Boy," Wade smirked up at him, sounding more proud than annoyed. He threw a couple of M&Ms up for Peter to catch in his mouth, "do the other heros know how much of an asshole their comrade is?" Around his mouthful of chocolate and peanuts, he grinned, "I save all my worst bits for you, Wade." It was true too. He always felt like he needed to pose and posture around his fellow superheroes. Even though he'd come into his own as Spider-man over the last ten years, he still yearned for their approval and strived for their respect. Around Wade though, there was no need to pretend he was any better than he actually was. He didnt feel the need to constantly be on his best behaviour. Peter let his sass and sarcasm, disdain and irritation, good moods, bad moods and everything inbetween run rampant around Deadpool. And he never felt like he was being judged or evaluated. Just admired. Ecouraged even. "I'm touched," he said, throwing up another handful of M&Ms. This time Peter didn't react quick enough, lost in thought, and missed them.
Instead Wade caught the chocolates in his own mouth. Which shouldn't have been a thing but Peter's brain was making it a thing. He couldn't figure out if it was the ease with which he caught them – Peter's attraction to competency rearing it's ugly head – or the fact that the M&Ms were intended for his mouth and were now in Deadpool's. Either way, Peter's brain was doing some sort of horny gymnastics to rationalise it as tonsil tennis by-proxy. He watched Wade's throat bob as he swallowed. Peter's concentration was decidedly broken. He slipped. Usually that wouldn't be an issue; usually he'd have fallen from a much greater height and thus had more time to catch himself. But he was hanging from the ceiling this time. Granted, it was a relatively high ceiling, but not high enough. He let out an indecipherable jumble of a scream/shout/warning and Wade managed to dive out of the crash zone in time to not be knocked out by a 170 pound moron. When Peter didn't feel the heavy, throbbing pain of head trauma, he managed to gather his wits enough to realise that his head hadn't made contact with anything.
After another moment, he realised that Wade had seemingly managed to get his hand between Peter's skull and the floor. He still found himself uncomfortably contorted - half on the couch, half off, in a sort of human pretzel situation - but Wade had reacted in enough time to keep his head from cracking against the ground. And he was still holding him that way.
Peter's brain stopped working again. "Sorry," Wade said, trying to right the hero so that he was no longer lying at a downward 45 degree angle with legs akimbo, "Dad reflexes."
Peter wanted to scream. "You're apologising for saving me from a concussion?" Peter attempted to tease but it fell flat when he saw Wade's face, "Are you okay?" He let out a choked laugh, "Am I okay?" He asked incredulously, "you just fell eight feet." "And yet you're the one looking a bit loopy," Peter half laughed but wasn't able to keep the worry from seeping into his tone. "You scared the shit outta me, thought you were gonna go splat!" Deadpool justified. "From that height? Child's play. If I'd splatted, I'd have deserved it." It was a joke but Wade didn't seem to find it funny. "You should look after yourself better, Petey," he looked like he realised he was being too serious then, and his demeanor visibly shifted, "you don't regenerate, so you gotta look after that sinfully gorgeous meat suit of yours."
Ty ty for the ask! I really wanna get back into writing these two, I love them so much 🥲
Send me an ask with which of my WIPs from This Post you wanna hear about!

Mama’s boy
Plot summary: Spider works up the courage to ask Quaritch about his mother. He’ll quickly learn that his mama was just as feral as he is.
Relationships: Spider Socorro and Miles Quaritich Paz Socorro/Miles Quaritch
______________________________________________________________
Spider was bored out of his mind! He had been leading his captors through the forest for hours, as they slowly but surely made their way to the Hallelujah Mountains, so the recom team could tame some Ikrans. His body may have been steadily moving forward, but his mind was a frenzy, in desperate need of stimulation. So he did what he always did when he was bored. He grabbed onto the closest tree branch and began to climb.
“The hell do you think youre doing” said Quaritch. Spider looked down at the Na’vi clone of his father, already high up his tree and well out of the recoms reach. Spiders responded with an annoyed look and defensive hiss, then continued the trek foreword, leaping from tree branch to tree branch.
Quaritch watched him for a moment before continuing on, a feeling of fondness taking root in his chest as he watched his boy skillfully jump through the air.
Wainfleet glanced up at the kid, an amused smile spreading across his face at the sight of the monkey boy.
“He really is a feral little gremlin isn’t he” he said to the Colonel, falling into step with the man.
Quaritch looked up at Spider again, with a shrug. “Nah, he’s just like his mama.”
Spider heard that and his heart fell into his stomach. He was like his mama? He had only ever heard about how he was like his father, the comparison hurled at him by others in fits of anger. But now here was that same man (or the ghost of him) comparing Spider to his mama- one of the biggest mysteries in his life.
Quaritch’s one little comment had Spiders mind racing with so many thoughts and questions that the boy completely lost his concentration and slipped. He fell his body ping ponging between thick branches on his way down.
Quaritch swore his ears picked up on his son’s fall the moment his kid’s breathing changed from steady to panicked. He snatched the boy out of the air as soon as he fell into arms length, and pulled him close.
“Are you hurt,” he asked Spider while he frantically checked the kid for injuries, checked his mask for cracks and his exopac for any malfunction. Spider just looked at him, eyes glazed. “Did you hit your head” Quaritch didn’t wait for an answer as he gently looked over the boy's head and neck for injury.
Spider's eyes lit up again as he shoved the man's hands away. “I’m fine. Get off of me.” He worked his way out of his, not father’s arms, and stalked away.
Quaritch felt like picking a fight with the kid at that. Spider could have died. What had made him so agile one moment, then falling to his death the next? He stared at his sons tensed back, large dark bruises already beginning to bloom across his skin. Later, he told himself. They both needed to calm down before they could have any kind of productive conversation. For now he’d just make sure his son's feet stayed on the ground.
———————————————————————————————————
“Yeah that’s right!” Quaritch hollered in triumph on the back of his ikran. His team cheered him on as he showed off. He didn’t miss the little smile on Spider's face, and it only made Quaritch’s pride swell more.
“Alright who’s next” Quaritch called as he landed, pulling his braid from his ikrans queue. He could feel the energy drop at his question. He knew that while everyone on the team wanted an ikran, no one wanted to be the one to follow him up. Not after he’d almost died.
“Oh come on. We’re not scared are we.” He looked around at his squad, took in there faces “ it wasn’t that bad.” Then he jabbed a thumb in Spider's direction and said “taming the boy's mother was harder than this.”
Spider’s smile fell, and his cheeks turned pink. The recoms all laughed uproariously around him, practically mocking his embarrassment.
“Alright, I’ll go next” said Wainfleet
“Good man” Quaritch said. As Wainfleet stepped up to the plate, Quaritch watched Spider walk away from the group out of the corner of his eye.
“Hey” he called after him “don’t you go too far. Don’t you forget…”
“Yeah yeah I know” Spider said waving him off.
Quaritch sighed. Teenagers. Can’t even take a joke.
———————————————————————————————————
The team had made camp for the night and they were now gathered around a fire, eating, talking, joking and laughing. The only one not taking part was Spider. The boy was noticeably withdrawn, sitting with his arms hugging his knees, curled into a protective ball. Quaritch kept side eyeing him but didn’t say anything.
Just ask him, Spider thought, it’s just one question. It’s not that big of a deal. That was a lie. If it wasn’t a big deal he wouldn’t be this anxious about it. He sat there for who knows how long trying in vain to amp himself up just to ask one simple question.
His, not father, apparently tired of his tense body language and far off stair moved closer to him. With a heavy sigh he asked “what’s eating ya kid?”
Spider had spent so much time trying to ask his question, that the man’s prompt, made it burst out in a rush. “What was mama like?”
The entire squad silenced. Quaritch looked like he’d been smacked. Spider continued on in a rush, trying to recover the situation. “I mean I don’t really know that much about her. Everyone that really knew her either died or was sent back to earth, so all I really knew about her was her name, and that she was a pilot.”
Spider was breathing hard. He hadn’t taken a single breath since his question tumbled out of his mouth. He cautiously looked up at his not father. His eyes looked pained and far away.
The question and explanation from his son hurt Quaritch. Paz had been dead for 15 years by this point but from his perspective it had only been a month. Now at his son’s words his grief was compounded with guilt. That’s my fault, he thought, it’s my fault my son doesn’t know his mother.
He didn’t have the final memory between himself and the mother of his child. He knew he was planning on seeing her after his memories were uploaded. He knew what he had been planning for her, and while he might not have known what happened definitively between the two of them, she was dead now. Deep down he knew. It was his fault
Smiles and small laughs broke out among the other recoms. Wainfleet spoke up, “Kid your mom was the craziest, wildest, most badass bitch….
“Hey!” Quaritch shouted low and threatening “don’t you dare call my woman a bitch! Especially not in front or our boy,”
Those words made a mix of emotions flood Spider’s chest. He didn’t know how to fully process that right now but he did relax slightly, a small smile tugging at the side of his mouth.
Wainfleet held his hands up in surrender “No offense.”
“Did you all know my mama?” Spider asked the group.
Quaritch spoke before anyone else got the chance. “Of course they did! Your mama was the best pilot there was. And I’m not just saying that. She was legitimately the best pilot there was. Leagues better than anyone else. And an absolute genius to boot. And hands down the most gorgeous creature on earth or Pandora and…”
The squads growing snickers made him stop his ranting. Spider was smiling up at him, his big brown eyes shining bright.
Her eyes.
And damm did his son look like his lady. Spider had Paz’s eyes, her smile, her laugh, and the best parts of her personality. That realization had his heart both soaring and crashing at the same time.
“So why would she get with you?” Spider asked all snark and attitude.
The other recoms laughed at their colonel's expense. “Tell him how you two met,” Z-dog exclaimed.
“Oh my god. Kid you're gonna love this” Manks said playfully nudging Spider with his elbow.
Spider eyed Quaritch expectantly. The man sighed deeply, pushing down all of his negative emotions. He just couldn’t say no to that look. “Fine.”
———————————————————————————————————
Damm new recruits. The latest crop of soldiers had landed earlier that day and by the sound of it they were celebrating. Quaritch had been awoken at 2 am to loud music blaring. The shouts and cheers of the new recruits echoing down the halls.
He made his way from his private quarters to the barracks. He imagined he’d find a crazy frat party going on. Nothing but booze and stupidity as far as the eye could see. He was not prepared for what he found.
“Wanna see a cool trick?” A woman’s voice. Just beginning to slur from the effects of her drink. She was lounging on top of a table surrounded by her cohorts. She took a big swig out of the bottle in her hand, shook her long, dark, curls, away from her face, then clicked the lighter clutched in her right hand. In one swift movement she spit the alcohol out of her mouth and lit the spray, giving the effect that she was breathing fire. Quaritch eyes went wide. Quickly he crushed his shock and got serious.
“What in the hell is going on here” Quaritchs voice boomed out over all the noise. Everyone, but the woman froze in fear. Someone had the good sense to cut the music.
She had the audacity to smile at him, looking at him from over her shoulder with mocking eyes. She couldn’t care less. “It's a party.”
He was shocked by her boldness. Men a good foot taller than her and packed with muscle were practically shitting themselves at Quaritchs presence but here was this little Disney princess looking bitch looking at him coyly like a cat that’d just caught its prey.
“Who’s responsible for this, party” he asked, already having a good sense of the answer.
She slid off the table like water, stepped up to him, not an ounce of fear present. “Me”. She looked proud of it too.
“Follow me.” He moved to the side so she could take the lead. She strolled past him head held high, so casually she could have been taking a leisurely stroll in the park. “The rest of you get to bed. And don’t you think there won’t be consequences for the rest of ya.” With that he slammed the door.
“Y’a coming” she said, looking back at him already several feet ahead. His response was to stalk towards her. She turned and continued down the hall still leading the way.
“That’s far enough” he called as they neared the end of the hall.
“No it’s not.” She didn’t even look at him, just kept walking, turning the corner.
“That wasn’t a request.”
“I’m aware.” And didn’t that just make his blood boil. He went to grab her by the arm but she dodged him, turned to face him. She was now walking backwards but that didn’t slow her down in the least. Her eyes were still mocking him but there was razor sharpness to it now. She was smirking but he couldn’t tell if it was in amusement, or if it meant danger. Maybe both.
“What’s your name solder”
“Paz. Socorro.” she turned away from him, quickening her step ever so slightly, to be out of Quaritch’s reach.
“Well Miss Paz Socorro I’m not asking. I’m ordering you as your command officer to stop” She simply ignored him. They continued on like that for a few more feet, him shouting at her to stop, her ignoring him completely.
Finally she seemed to be satisfied with the distance they’d put between themselves and the barracks. She rounded on him abruptly, eyes like a wildfire, muscles tense ready for a fight. Quaritch noted that while she had the face of an angel, she had the body of an Amazon warrior. “What the hell is wrong with you.!” She didn’t yell. The words were hissed through her teeth, voice low and threatening.
Quaritch had been surprised first at her sudden turn then at her words. “Oh I’m so sorry.” His words were dripping with sarcasm. “Did I ruin your little party.”
She waved him off “Oh the party I threw because of you.”
Now he was legitimately confused “ How the hell you gonna spin this back on me?”
“Your little speech from earlier. Everything that flies or squats in the mud wants to kill you.” As she repeated his word back to him she perfectly mimicked his southern drawl “It is my job to keep you alive. I will not succeed. Not with all of you. The hell is wrong with you saying that shit!”
“It’s the truth. Don’t like it, then you shouldn’t have come here.”
“I knew what I was getting into.” She stepped up to him, getting in his face as best she could. She barely reached his chin. “I’m not afraid of this planet, and I’m not afraid to die. But at least I thought this operation would be run by someone actually competent at their job, and not someone who freely admits that he’ll fail all of us on the first day!”
She might as well have smacked him. “I was just being realistic and honest…”
“No! You were filling them with fear. Fear breeds hesitation, and hesitation will get you killed faster then any creature on this planet.”
She had a point. But Quaritch didn’t want to be wrong. “The hell do you know. You’ve barely been on this planet, five minutes. I’ve been running this operation for ten years.”
He could see it in her eyes, she didn’t want to lose either, “I just layed in bed for hours listening to my comrades cry, and moan, regretting every decision that led them to here….”
 “That’s their problem.”
“No that your problem! How successful is your mission going to be if your fighting force is nothing but a bunch of sniveling cowards.”
He clasped his hands behind his back and leaned down to be more in her face. He took a mocking placating tone when he said, “So your genius solution was to throw a party?”
That dangerous smirk was back on her face. She lifted her chin so she could look down her nose at him. “My genius solution was to make them forget. Forget the damage you’d done and make them feel strong again. Make them feel invincible.”
Quaritch could see the logic in that. From Paz’s account no one was sleeping that much tonight anyway, so why not get drunk, forget your troubles, let the energy of the music lift your spirits, and do stupid drunken bull shit to make you feel invincible again. Quaritch nodded at her in understanding but still didn’t agree. “Too much fear will make you weak. You're right about that. But feeling invincible? That’ll make you stupid.”
She took in his words. Her face betrayed nothing of her thoughts. “So you're aware that fear makes you weak and yet you still chose to scare the shit out of your newest recruits. Because you did make them too fearful today. You weakened them.”
“I’ll break them of that. And I’ll break you too of this attitude of yours little miss.”
He meant it as a threat. She laughed at him instead. Not a mocking or sarcastic laugh. A full on deep belly laugh. She patted him on the shoulder as she moved past him, beginning her walk back to the barracks “Better men then you have tried Colonel!”
He was getting whiplash from this woman. He turned in her direction and shouted, “I’ve got my eye on you Socorro!”
She turned around to face him again, walking backwards like she had before. Her smile, bright and excited “Wouldn’t want it any other way!”

Chapter Six- Birds
—-
As long as you’ve known Neytiri, you’ve always thought of her like a bird. She flies around in the background, only emerging from the tree line when she wants to. So, it makes sense as to why she’s perfected a bird call.
It’s the call she uses in battle, high and loud enough to break through the commotion and make you listen to her. She uses it to simply get someone’s attention, or to save someone’s life.
Most importantly, your children know it.
You can just barely see Neytiri through the darkness and the rain you have to blink away, the bark of the tree rough against your back.
The trek through the forest was quiet, the only sounds being the pattering rain and soon — soft voices. Voices that you didn’t recognize.
After climbing a tree, a few yards away from Neytiri, with a view of a few of the recoms, you draw your arrow. Neytiri will fire the first shot, but right after her, you will rain down arrow upon arrow until they regain themselves and start shooting at you.
You keep your eyes fixed on your children, fists clenching when one of them pulls particularly hard and Kiri’s queue. Tuk whines next to her, shifting anxiously.
Then, a bird call.
The recoms don’t take any note of it. It is just another sound of the forest to them. But to your children, it is safety, it is a rescue, it is their parents.
Tuk gasps and whips her head to the source of the sound. Kiri looks around frantically, and you almost think she can see you — but the foliage is too much, and she looks away. Lo’ak turns slowly, nodding to Spider.
Another bird call.
You look over, and Neytiri is drawing her bow.
Kiri looks to be muttering something, some sort of prayer. It’s hard to tell from where you are, but you pull your bow back, thinking Neytiri has a good shot.
Then, the Avatar pulls on Kiri’s hair and whispers for her to shut up.
More silence in the forest, but Kiri keeps praying, her lips moving almost silently.
Finally, the man moves his head from behind Kiri’s, and an arrow sinks into his eye.
He falls over, and there’s barely one moment before they are scrambling to get into position — so you let one arrow go, then another — and the bullets come just before you can fire the third.
It rings in your ears, and you hiss and you press your back flat against the thick tree. The trunk will protect you, and there’s suddenly more screaming as you wait for a small ceasefire.
The smell of gas starts to fill the forest, the sound of footsteps, of your children and Spider running.
You hear an arrow release, Neytiri, and the bullets slow for a moment so you peek out around the edge and find your target. His gun slightly lowered, looking through the trees, searching for you — but your arrow sinks into his neck before he can find you.
More bullets rain down on you, but then they start to slow down like the end of a rain. For a moment, it feels like it’s over.
Then, his voice comes through the forest.
A voice you do recognize.
You don’t know how or why, but Colonel Quaritch has risen from the dead. Why must it be him, you wonder, and not your father? Your mother?
“Is that you, Mrs. Sully?” he let’s out a dry laugh. “I recognized your calling card. And I would bet… you’re there too, you little Augustine traitor.”
You suck in a breath. It’s weird to hear that name after so long, remember how many dead women it carries with it. No one calls you that here. No one talks about them.
“Why don’t you come on out? The three of us seem to have some unfinished business.”
Rage boils inside of you. You have no unfinished business than killing him a second time, permanently, so he will never take your family from you again. He will never make you lose again.
“Demon!” Neytiri yells. “I will kill you as many times as I have to!”
“You’ve been pretty busy, haven’t you? Got yourself a whole liter of half breeds.”
Your teeth bite down into your bottom lip, but this isn’t the time to feed into his cruel words and give him what he wants. He wants a reaction, and you will not give him one. You will not endanger your family like that.
Suddenly, a body falls. You can barely see an Avatar fall, arrow sticking out of his chest — but there’s another figure standing behind him.
“Neteyam!” you shout, as the Colonel shouts, his gun in position, and suddenly another figure collides over Neteyam and they slam to the ground, just a second before the bullets come.
You can’t tell if the wetness falling down your face is the rain or your own tears.
You nearly slip on the slick roots, but soon Neytiri is right ahead of you, the sound of gunfire in the air and something blasting behind you.
You’re knocked onto the branches for a quiet second, thrown onto Neytiri’s legs, and you only let out a small hiss as you stand and help her do the same, before running side by side farther away from it all.
Another bomb bathes the forest in red and orange, black smoke at the edges. It burns away all the green plant life.
Neytiri jumps from one branch to another, and you follow her without question, too busy focusing on the ground.
“Spider!” Kiri shouts, and when you look up, Neytiri is pulling her to stand and you see why she’s come this way.
“Come!” she pleads when Kiri won’t budge, and you run forward and look over the edge — but it’s too dark, the rain so heavy, you can see nothing but the faint outline of plants and rocks. No humans.
“But- Spider- he-” Kiri shouts, and then you rush forward and push her, away from the lost child, from the smell of smoke and away from the danger.
Then, you finally follow the slope of a fallen tree trunk to the ground, running through the hanging vines and dodging trees. You can hear Kiri crying, but at least she is alive, so you ignore the rocks and sticks hurting your feet and run faster and faster until you break through into a clearing.
There people here, in this small clearing, and your eyes flick to the thick log you could jump behind for cover.
“Mom!” someone shouts, and you look up and drop your bow.
Lo’ak forces himself into your arms, burying his face against your neck and breathing heavily against your damp skin.
It takes a second for the adrenaline to wear off, before you press a shaky hand to the back of his head and let what you know now are tears fall onto his hair.
“Are you okay? Are you okay?” Jake keeps asking everyone, and Lo’ak finally let’s go of you a bit to lean his head against your shoulder.
“Mama!” Tuk gasps when Lo’ak moves, hugging your legs, and you wrap your other arm around her as tight as you can, before Neytiri drops to her knees next to you and Tuk runs into her open arms.
Neteyam crosses through it to press his forehead to your other shoulder, Jake not far behind as he wraps his larger arms around all three of you.
“Thank you,” Neytiri sobs. “Thank you, Great Mother, thank you,” she cries.
Lo’ak turns away from you, his voice coming out a little broken. Kiri is next to you on the ground, half pressed against your leg so Neytiri can hug her.
“Where’s Spider?”
Kiri turns to him. “They took him. They took him,” she breathes, and your heart breaks for the little boy who has always been the spider on your wall.
“Take it easy, babygirl,” Jake whispers, bringing her into a hug as she dissolves into quiet sobs. “He’s gonna be okay,” he says, louder this time. “We’re all gonna be okay.”
Neteyam’s breath hits your shoulder, and Lo’ak turns back to your neck to hide from the world.
“He’s a tough kid,” Jake continues, and he’s right.
Spider is a kid.

Note
I sent an ask responding to the Izuku parts that I hope you got.(if not fml)
But I figured I should send a separate ask to talk about Miguel.
So like my thoughts have been centering on this scenario where you're his secretary or assistant because he is the CEO. He's a beta and you're an omega.
You guys have a purely professional relationship, tbh half the time he doesnt even realize you got you're heat and just finds out you called in when you dont respond. Really the only thing he cares about is you doing your work, getting it done on time, and not half-assing it.
But then he gets the spider DNA and everything goes to shit. Not only does the spider DNA give him extra abilities and enhanced senses, but it also gives him some alpha traits/tendencies.
He goes in to work thinking it'll help distract him and get him back in the rhythm of everything only to just get fucking hit in the face with your scent. Queue him rushing past because it takes everything in him not to just pounce on you.
But as I said, he only got a few alpha traits. He didnt actually become an alpha. So while he's out here wanting to just pin you to his or your desk, knot and claim you....he's completely incapable. His body is completely incapable of performing those actions and it only leans into his yandere behavior and tendencies.
I've also been think like(depending on how one writes abo), sometimes betas dont have a sent or if they do its extremely faint. Yandere beta miguel who cant even smother you in his scent because he basically doesn't have one, meanwhile you dont even realize he's changed at all because you cant smell it.
Though because he doesnt have a scent he would absolutely sneak into your house/appartment. Its basically the only upside in his eyes.
Also anytime you go into heat and have to miss work? He is immediately taking your seat from your desk and huffing it while he touches himself. Then at night as spiderman will come just close enough to be able to smell you but still not lose control of himself, absolutely getting off on your scent and sounds of pleasure from you using a toy.
God this shits been living in my brain rent free for like the last week and wont go away 😭
I got the Izuku ask :) trust me when I say I am simply dogshit awful at getting back to people and being consistent
Tumblr media
Picture if Reader is actually a really competent employee of his at Alchemax but Miguel like BARELY pays any mind to you because, you know, he's got all sorts of shit constantly stressing him out and occupying his mind on top of migraine, and suddenly you're going into work and bringing him his preferred coffee as usual when, he tries to make small talk? You've worked for this man for like at least a year, basically only speaking when necessary, and one day you lean over to put a coffee or some papers on his desk and that brings you just close enough for him to take in a breath of your scent which instantly helps alleviate his headaches
You're basically done giving him what he needs and you're literally about to leave the room when he suddenly calls out (almost in a "wait I need to catch you before you leave" kind of urgency) and you pause and look at him with those big eyes of yours he suddenly can't stop staring into when Romeo hits you with "so .... how are you?"
And you're just kind of stunned for a few moments because this is a man who basically doesn't speak to you unless he needs something, even when you go to him to pass along a message or something or other about his schedule and your secretarial duties it's typically just a sort of "got it, thank you" sort of response and you're sent on your way again, or given another task, so in ao forth. You basically can't get a good read on the man's personality because he simply doesn't talk to you enough or at least about anything other than work
He officially enters the Goo Goo Eyes Zone where when you like someone almost everything about them is so cute and had more meaning than it actually does and is basically finally seeing you for the first time. He FINALLY notices what kinds of perfumes/body mists you like to use to smell nice even if it's something you've worn for ages, the ways you prefer to style yourself, which little accessories or rings or whatever may be your favorite, little mannerisms you may have like clicking pens or singing little songs when you think you're along, like when you're doing something and it's you're just like occasionally singing, like he finds you washing a coffee cup in the break room all "--and its doooOooone!"
The need to learn more about you escalates because suddenly he's like "wait I've known them for all this time and never noticed all these things, what ELSE don't I know?" And it really is an obsessive infatuation. You live in a high rise where you don't really have to worry about closing your blinds or anything which is perfect for Miguel "don't you know i have enhanced senses" O'Hara to watch you from the roof of the next building over. You never lock your windows because, what's the point? He starts learning your schedule and meticulously taking all kinds of notes until it's the level of him outright entering your apartment to snoop through all of your things and potentially plant bugs and cameras
One day you're opening your window and kind of poke your head out to look at the city and you notice weird sorts of, almost gouges in the wall outside? What are those from? (Well sweetie, turns out, when you were going to town on yourself last night to relieve a little stress, he was the equivalent of like 10 feet away, clinging to your building, listening to and potentially recording every little gasp and finger flick)
But he gets SO frustrated when you're, you know polite, but, not exactly as receptive as he's hoped? When in reality he's still being awkward as fuck and you're still kind of adjusting to him paying attention to you, and it probably feels good to have him seemingly recognizing your efforts but like, you don't wanna. date him??? At least not so suddenly or anything, so he's trying to court you, but, it's becoming harder and harder to be around you at all, let alone when your heats start coming up. He could never tell before that your scent starts changing when That Time is coming around, gradually shifting and becoming something he finds differently hypnotic, something that makes him want to bury his nose in your neck while also, being buried in you period
He'll grow the balls to be more direct with you eventually, but he justifies everything by telling himself he just wants to get to know more about you, and that the stalking is just him trying to get to know you a little more, so when he sees you face to face he can win you over and make you his mate treat you better, obviously! He'll... he'll ask you out to dinner next week, he promises! But for now, he's just gonna, stay right here perched under your window, seeing and hearing and smelling everything

You run through the forests and help Grace, and soon you are 20 years old and looking out onto your life like it is a prison. You could leave. Go to Earth. Against the HydraSaurus!
Tumblr media
Or what goes into a monster...
I'm not gone, I've just been working on a big project and hadn't gone through the process of setting up my queue. So here's a sneak peek of a panel from a (planned for) eight page TyrannoMax story.
And here's (most of) what went into it:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Full(er) Process Under the fold.
I am missing a few gens that I used to get the rocky landscape and a few that were used for DeinoSteve's hands and foot-claws. And every gen here represents a stack of alternate takes and prompt dead ends.
Neither Midjourney nor Dall-E 3 is up to creating a complex scene with consistent characters and any degree of control. So any panel that isn't just a talking head requires multiple gens, and even the talking heads require editing.
For my process, I figure out what what I want from the scene, and start building a stack of gens to work with. Once I have some material to choose from, I start scaling and compositing the base images together into some semblance of the finished piece.
Generating uncolored B&W art doesn't produce the look of vintage comic art, so I remove the colors and extract the black outlines, at which point I start re-inking to get the right details, the right levels of detail, and to fix errors and blend the various pieces.
As shown here with DeinoSteve:
Tumblr media
Here we start with the base gen. I liked most of the pose, but I wanted a balled up, spider-man-y leap, so I borrow the leg, head, and hands from other gens, correct the number of fingers and toes, add the big velociraptor claws by repurposing, fill in the missing tail, and then do basic inking.
Then, whoops, the image is too detailed for the size it will be in the final image, so I go in and erase details to make it more authentic to 1970s inking and printing, and thicken the lines throughout.
Once I have the image fully re-inked, I can go through the process of doing coloring, the newer old-fashioned way, using colors sampled from the 1982 DC comics pantone set. This panel, as a showpiece scene, gets a bit more love than others in the story, but even so DeinoSteve and PteraDarla are too small to get much color detail for a book from this apparent time (1977)
Tumblr media
And once the image has its post-processing for the printing artifacts and the yellowing of the paper (this is a Q&D version, final will have several more tricks), you can see more what the scene would look like in print, lower saturation, slightly faded colors, slightly yellow newsprint, and some natural blurring from the benday dot patterns.
There were at least 11 prompts used, probably more.

Could I request spider x gn reader where reader as general anxiety and was human but got put in an avatar body indefinitely because they were dying it traumatised them and sometimes they dissociate a bit because of it and when they get kidnapped they get really anxious and stressed and they stay close to spider but when they get separated they stay closer to quaritch due to him reminding them of spiderthey self sooth by sucking there thumb, if it could just be fluffy please, thank you hope you have a good day/night
Absolutely! Thank you so much for your request <3
I don't know if this is anything close to what you had envisioned when sending your request, but it was so much fun to write. The reader maybe reads a bit more traumatized than what you asked for, but their dynamic with Quaritch was just too good to lose out on, so... <3
Tumblr media
You're alright, kiddo...
2074 words
SFW / Platonic Spider & gn!Reader + Quaritch & gn!Reader (blink and you’ll miss it Sider & Quaritch) Tw: gn!Reader, terminal illness before being transferred into an avatar, anxious reader, PTSD, thumb sucking as self-comforting, disassociating, selective mutism, food/eating, Quaritch is soft and kind to the kids (fight me lol)
You didn’t know what hit you when all of a sudden, your queue was grabbed hard and you were pulled backward. The Sully kids and Spider all screamed and hissed as they too were taken, but as you were all forced to your knees, all you could focus on was the huge man that sauntered into the little group, his sneer sending chills down your spine. You try your best to stay quiet, to cooperate, just like Jake Sully had always taught the kids to do, but you could feel yourself slipping.
“What’s wrong with…” The big man, the Colonel, asked the Na’vi behind you when you started shaking.
“Them,” Spider barked, fighting the hold on his own hair.
“Uh-huh…” The Colonel hummed lazily, “What’s wrong with them?”
“They’re afraid, alright, so step away and give them some space already,” Spider sneers back, still fighting his hold.
“Nice try, kid,” The Colonel huffs before turning his back on you to focus on Lo’ak instead.
You don’t register what’s being said or what happens. The only thing you know is that it’s getting darker and then, Neytiri calls out to her children. Relief floods you as you realize that you’ll be saved, that you’ll get to sleep in your own nest and be with your own people. The next thing you register is running as loud noises and flashes of light bombard you from all sides. Neytiri and Jake are both shouting, and the Colonel answers them with a cold chuckle. Your hand is grabbed hard as Spider pulls you along from your cowering position by a tree, the undergrowth disappearing quickly as you get to higher ground, seemingly running for your life. There’s a loud noise behind you, a flash of orange light, and then everything goes dark.
-
“Y/n? Y/n, are you alright?” Spider’s voice calls to you, but your ears are ringing so loudly, you just whine in response.
This was easily ten times worse than waking up in your new avatar body ever had been. The memory, however, still makes you nauseous. You had never wanted to be transferred into this avatar body, yet, here you were while your own body was somewhere else entirely. Maybe you should have been happy that you got this second chance, but living with the Na’vi, with the scientists, after you were abandoned on Pandora, was anything but easy. You didn’t quite fit into the Na’vi way of life. You were weak, quiet, anxious… Yet, somehow stuck there with them all.
“Hey, Y/n, come on back to me,” Spider urged, making you open your eyes, only to quickly close them again.
The lights were so bright in the room you were in, the floor cold and rough against your skin. You didn’t know how long you had been out or how much time had passed since you were taken. The only thing you knew was that Neytiri and Jake weren’t here, that this wasn’t home or anywhere close to it. You were sitting below a huge table with Spider, the older boy holding you close as he tried to connect with you.
“Listen up, kid,” The Colonel hums as he steps into the room, the massive glass doors swishing open and then shut, “The deal is this; we gotta learn how to do this Na’vi stuff. Now, I know you said you won’t betray the Sullys, and I respect that. But I need an answer,”
“What if I don’t have an answer for you?” Spider spits back, the distaste so clear in his voice.
“Then I gotta give you back to the lab coats,” The Colonel drawls before pinning Spider with a look, “They’re asking for you both this time,”
“Guess there’s not much of a choice then,” Spider huffs angrily as he crosses his arms above his chest.
“Guess there ain’t,” The Colonel smiles smugly before mirroring Spider and crossing his own arms over his chest. “So who’s your friend there?”
“They’re one of the orphans from the village,” Spider starts, stepping before you to block the Colonel’s way. “Their body got sick some years ago, so the scientists made them an avatar so that they could survive,”
The Colonel hums before sucking his teeth, his crossed arms shifting his hold before he looks past Spider to where you still sit under the table. His eyes make your skin crawl with the way you feel as if he sees straight through you. The need to be closer to Spider, closer to someone safe, eventually forces you to reach out for the older boy. The end of his tweng is what you grab a hold of, the worn material grounding in its own way as it’s stuck to Spider’s person.
“You’re scaring them, skxawng,” Spider sighs as he steps closer to the table so that you don’t have to stretch your arms out to him.
The Colonel stares at Spider for a long while before stepping back and getting down to one knee with a heavy grunt. Resting his arms on his bent knee, he leans forward, eyes looking for yours. They’re sharp and calculating, but to your surprise, they’re filled with curiosity instead of the cruelty you were expecting.
“You alright there, kiddo?” The Colonel asks, his voice husky.
“They don’t speak much,” Spider sighs, but the Colonel doesn’t pay him any mind.
Unable to meet his eyes, you nod your head instead. The way he looks at you is stressing you out, your anxiety levels rising steadily as he stares. Eventually, he gets up on his feet, mumbling something to Spider before the doors swish open and shut again. It doesn’t take long before Spider’s head bends down to look at you too, his smile gentle.
“Still good, Y/n?” He asks while squatting down to your level.
“Yeah,” You croak, your throat tight, “Thanks,”
“Don’t know if you heard it, but we’re moving out later,” Spider explains slowly, making sure that each word registers, “He’s getting us some food, are you hungry?”
“I’m starving,” In time with your words, your stomach rumbles loudly, making Spider chuckle as a grin spreads on his face.
“I guess you are,” Spider hums before getting up again.
This time though, he takes your hand, squeezing it tightly as he sits on the tabletop. It’s an awkward position to sit in with your hand raised like that, but when he squeezes it, it settles something within you, making your anxiety dissipate somewhat. You don’t notice it when you start drifting, but when you come to again, the Colonel is sitting in the corner by the door as he chats with Spider. The older boy is still holding your hand while he eats with his other. He’s seemingly enjoying the conversation, his face breaking out in a grin as he chuckles at the Colonel.
“Ah, there they are,” The Colonel hums, his sharp eyes greeting yours when you look up at him, “Brought you some food,”
The Colonel's eyes turn almost gentle as his eyes drop to the thumb in your mouth, his head tilting curiously as his ears rotate toward you. Immediately, you pull your thumb out, clenching your hand around it as you feel your face heat. The Colonel tuts, his husky voice gentle when he speaks again.
“It’s alright to suck your thumb, kiddo,” He hums, his eyebrows furrowing in deep thought for a moment. “Does it make you feel better? Safer?”
Nodding your head, you’re unable to see his expression. The Colonel hums gently and just like that, the room falls silent. Spider hands you what surprisingly turns out to be diced yovo fruit and sure enough, when you put the first cube in your mouth, the sweetness of the fruit explodes. Humming with happiness, you chew the cubed fruit until you’re full, eventually daring a low “Thank you, Sir,” which earns you another one of those gentle smiles.
As far as kidnappings go, you guess this one isn’t the worst. You’re treated well and the recoms, the entire unit, do what they can to protect both Spider and you. It’s probably why it takes you by complete surprise when the angry General pushes the recom unit out on a mission they’re not yet ready to embark on. For the past few months, Spider has been teaching the recom unit the Na’vi way, preparing them for what Pandora had to throw their way once they were alone in the jungle that surrounded the area. Apparently, the General had been fed up with waiting, her angry narrowed eyes demanding results that even you knew wouldn’t come.
Still, the recom unit obeyed the orders, which was what led you to be in the situation you were now in. Distressed and spiraling, sucking your thumb for comfort, you crouch by the hollow opening of a tree root as the furious thanator the recom unit had stepped upon runs around the area, furiously protecting its territory. In the chaos that erupted when it attacked, Spider lost the hold on your hand, his body being pushed away from yours as the recoms pushed at the two of you to move forward, shouting for you to run, to get away. It hadn’t taken long before you were separated, each one of you spread around the forest as you tried to escape the predator.
Before you know it, you’re pulled out of your hiding spot, strong, huge arms wrapping tightly around you as you’re gathered up to wrap your legs around a strong waist. Locking your legs behind the recom’s back, you cling to him as if your life depends on it as he takes the both of you through the forest, sprinting further and further away until suddenly, the thanator stops and turns, the intruders - you - out of its territory. Breathing heavily, the recom cups the back of your head, pressing your face into the crook of his shoulder as he comes to a stop.
“You’re alright, kiddo…” Quaritch rasps, his voice windy as he turns in circles, “You’re alright,”
“Are you hurt?” The question registers, but you’re unable to reply to it, your heart still racing in your chest.
“Y/n, are you hurt?” Quaritch asks again, this time more gently, but with an underlying urgency.
When you still can’t reply, he gently peels you off of him, sitting you down on a rock as he checks for injuries. Eventually, when he’s pleased, you’re lifted up into his arms again. Quaritch’s own heart is beating frantically, even through his vest, but that doesn’t stop him from reacting. His first priority seems to be to get you as high up in the air as possible, something that doesn’t come easy when they haven’t trained much on climbing. At least he isn’t wearing the boots anymore, which makes the whole thing a little bit easier. Only when he’s reached the highest branches does he stop to sit down, his long legs spread on each side of the thick branch as he takes a moment to just breathe.
“Iron Sky, Blue one, actual,” Quaritch rumbles as he presses the device on his neck, “Requesting extraction,”
You listen as he talks to whoever is on the other side, the hums and grunts rumbling through his chest as you try your best to calm your nerves. A big hand cups your head, gently pressing it to Quaritch’s chest, making you look up into sharp yellow eyes. There’s a soft smile on his lips as he looks down at you before he looks out over the jungle below. There are sounds all around you from smaller animals, birds chirping as they communicate in the neighboring trees, no doubt telling each other about the two Na’vi in their territory.
Taking a deep breath, you relax your head against Quaritch’s chest before letting it out. Although you know that he’s a bad man, you can’t help but feel safe as his arms hold you protectively against him, making sure that nothing or no one can hurt you. Your feet hurt and you’re tired, sleepy even. Lifting the hand closest to Quaritch to your lips, you gently slip your thumb into your mouth. It’s immediately soothing in a way you have never been able to explain, and when his thumb starts stroking your head where he cups it, it doesn’t take long before your eyes close and then… you sleep safely wrapped up in protective arms.

Just a few more steps to the hospital and they were golden... almost. He keeps his eyes on the building, trying to be as slow as possible. He was naturally a fast walker but he really did try to be slow, but as he heard the other speak out he was still going too fast. Starry? That was a cute name! He's never heard a name quite like that. Sure, he's heard of zodiac based names, but never Star or Starry in this case.
"Oh yeah.. sorry about that."
He slows down more to accept Starry's wish. He felt bad about moving too fast but he was worried about his head and the injury. He didn't want Starry to lose any more blood than he already has. As Starry breaks free from him, he lets him do so without trying to take it back. They were at the hospital so he didn't need to guide him anymore at least not so carefully.
The eyes on his spider mask blink a few times. They were real? That.. wasn't something that he saw all the time. How was that possible? He closes the few inches of distance between them from earlier. Now they were closer together. His true eyes behind the mask stare at the ears but doesn't do anything just yet.
"Are you sure.. you don't have to let me."
But Starry quickly gives him the affirmative to do so and he doesn't waste anymore time. As the rabbit looks down at his nails, Spider-Man pulls off the glove from his right hand and raises it up to the pretty mint colored ears. His bare fingers stroke the ear closest to him gingerly, much like you would a cat. The ear was soft, silky yet fluffy at the same time. He lets out a breath of air he didn't know he was holding. Slowly he withdraws his hand from the ear, already missing the softness it had to offer.
"Thank you for letting me touch them! They were the softest things I ever touched. No joke."
He slips the glove back on with ease as he looks at the automatic doors in front of them. It was time for Starry to get checked up and patched up and for Spider-Man to return to New York. But if he was honest, he didn't want to leave his new friend so fast. Starry has been one of the most interesting people he's met in a long time. But he also didn't want to bother the bunny with his presence.
"Do... you need someone to help check you in?... and walk you out? I don't mind to help you out with that."
Spider-Man clears his throat a little. He knew he was pushing his luck a little but he couldn't help it. He still had so many questions for Starry. He still hasn't found out were he's from. Where did Starry come from?

One moment, the rabbit is surfing through the web, trying to update himself on the newest SpiderMan releases. The next—the familiar hustle and bustle of the big city jolted him awake as he found himself laying down, splayed across the sidewalk like he’d fainted. It did not help the fact that he was now surrounded by a group of passerby’s, some bent over to check in and see if he was alright.
Starry tried to quickly scramble to his feet, almost immediately dizzy as the blood pooling around the back of his head quickly began to flow it’s routine cycle once more. It took everything in his recent consciousness to keep himself from falling over. As the rabbit finally managed to get up and shake off the nearby mob, those turquoise eyes finally breathed in the near surroundings.
Did he… pass out? On the streets of Chicago?!
With one swift motion, the rabbit retrieved his mint green cell from his back pocket only to be met with the tragic visuals of a lack of cell service. That was exceptionally odd, considering he was in the city, there should be no issues with his cell service…right?
Unbeknownst to him, it wasn’t even Chicago anymore, let alone the same universe. Some things are just too weird to consider the possibilities.

Until It Doesn’t Hurt
Chapter 8: The Kids Ain't Alright
Summary:
20 years since the RDA was pushed off of the moon of Pandora, they are back once more. The RDA thinks their only problem is the traitor Jake Sully and his family, but as it turns out, Jake wasn’t the only ‘problem’ left behind 20 years ago.
Anthe was a child soldier, stolen from their home and forced to learn the ways of the humans, erasing any of their connections to the Na’vi from before. Finally free from the RDA’s hold after being trapped in cryosleep, they're about to make themselves everyone's problem.

_____________________________________________
It was depressing how easily Anthe fell back into being alone, sleeping in hollowed out tree trunks and scavenging for supplies and food. At least they were better at it this time around, skills they had learned from the Omaticaya significantly easing the burden of being out on their own. They used what Kiri had taught them to find edible plants and safe places to sleep, the weaving Neytiri had taught them to mend their pack when it broke, and Lo’ak and Spiders' many stories of getting into trouble helped them to avoid doing the same.
And then there was everything Neteyam had given them. Whittling, trap making, tips on tracking, ways to take down larger prey with nothing but a knife, places to hide, covering your tracks, signs of predators, and too many more. A lot of it had gone untested with Anthe’s injury, but they had always been quick to things up.
Anthe thought of what Neteyam might think if he could see them putting his lessons to work, easily imagining his proud smirk. It made them smile at first, but it quickly clouded with the aching in their chest. They missed him. Missed the sound of his voice, the clear focus in his eye when he trained, and the soft caress of his arms wrapped securely around them. They held tight to the gifts they'd been given. A bracelet from Tuk and Kiri, Neteyam’s beaded cord wrapped around their queue, a stone from the pond they had gone to with Neteyam, a feather that had gotten stuck in their hair the single time they agreed to fly with Lo’ak, a chipped piece of palulukan claw Jake had given them when he returned with their pack and gun. It all sat safe and sound in a pouch Neytiri had given them, strapped securely to their belt, the weight of which only seemed to grow with every passing day. But that's what you get for trying to get a taste of something you can never truly have.
—
It had only been a week or so, but it felt like so much longer. There had been search parties in the first few days. Roving warriors on their Ikran, calling their name. But Neteyam had been too good of a teacher, and Anthe had done well to cover their tracks, leaving little to no trace that the Na’vi could pick up. Anthe had seen Lo’ak in the search party, yelling their name almost angrily.
“{Anthe!}” he shouted into the woods. “{I know you’re out there!}” Anthe had tucked themselves into the bushes well out of sight, watching the young man they wished they could still call their friend.
“{Just come back already! You’re freaking everyone out!}” He sounded frustrated, running his hands through his braids with clear agitation.
“{Neteyam is really fucked up about you, you know! If you’re not gonna come back ‘cause I asked, you could at least come back for him!}”
That hit Anthe hard. The memory of Neteyam begging them to stay was too much, aching painfully in their chest. Anthe did not emerge from their hiding spot until well after Lo’ak had left, making sure the younger Sully was not still nearby as they watched the sky for Ikran riders.
There were only a couple of riders out searching for them the next day, and none the day after that. The Omaticaya were still in hiding from the RDA, they could not risk the people to search for one person in the vastness of Pandora’s forest. Anthe figured the clan, or at least Jake, would think the worst of them now. Anthe certainly would, if the positions were reversed. There was no reason for the Na’vi not to think Anthe had not turned on them, and was headed back to the RDA to give away the clan's position. Of course, Anthe would never do that, but the Omaticaya couldn’t count on that.
—
Now, Anthe stalked quietly through the forest, searching for yet another safe place to bunk for the night. It was getting late, the sun already dipping below the tree line. Anthe had strayed into an area the Omaticaya considered forbidden, littered with the old scars of the Great War. They had found an old RDA bunker, or more like a shack, the day before, a decrepit AMP suit and skeletal pilot haunting the clearing before it like a sentinel. Anthe had not bothered to look at who the pilot was, no doubt just some idiot soldier who found themselves on the wrong end of a Na’vi’s arrow. The shack itself was a mess as well, broken glass scattered across the ground that Anthe had to be careful not to accidentally step on and cut their bare feet. It had two pods in it that took Anthe a while to realize were Avatar Link Units, one of them had been crushed inwards. At the very back was a tiny cot they had been able to curl up on for the night. It had been safe enough, and since it was forbidden to the Na’vi, they doubted anyone might look for them there. They didn’t want to make a habit of staying in one spot, but they hadn’t moved very far during the day and the convenient safety was too good to pass up for one more night. Or so they thought.
They heard the commotion up ahead before they saw it. A large group of people, decked out in military gear surveying the area. Anthe sucked in a breath, searching the group for a familiar face, praying to see one of their siblings, but they were all strangers. They looked almost Na’vi, but their hands and loud English gave them away. Anthe shot into the trees above before they could be spotted, careful to keep their rifle close and at the ready.
They counted twelve of them, clearly experienced soldiers by the way they carried themselves. They swarmed the very shack Anthe had hoped to rest in, searching it. Anthe watched them inspect the corpse in the AMP suit, pulling the plummed arrows from its ribcage. Something roiled in their gut as Anthe watched the group stalk the clearing. Something was wrong.
These were not the Avatar scientists Anthe had met at the science outpost, or stolen Na’vi who had finally left the RDA like they had. These soldiers were still with the RDA, and hunting something. Anthe shuffled quietly closer, trying to listen in on what was going on. One on twelve was bad odds, but if they could figure out what these people wanted, they could head back to High Camp and warn someone. Most of what Anthe heard was the rough barking of orders from the leader - a Colonel, though they only caught the title and not his name - about pulling information from any tech left in the shack or AMP suit dashcam. Anthe moved as close as they dared, silently praying they soldiers below would all fall prey to the incredibly human habit of never looking up, when they saw something in their periphery. Four figures crowded in the bushes near the edge of the clearing. Four figures that they recognized. Lo’ak, Spider, Kiri, and Tuk.
Anthe froze, fear and guilt gripping their chest. Why were they here, in a place dubbed forbidden by the clan? Had they been out looking for Anthe? And why was Tuk with them? Anthe watched Lo’ak lips move, fingers to his throat as he called someone with his comm. That made Anthe relax slightly, knowing someone would be warned, but they were so absorbed in seeing their friends again, that they missed the soldiers stalking around the Sully children.
It happened too fast, one second Lo’ak was starting to usher his sisters away, the next a soldier had grabbed Tuk. There was a sudden chaos of hissing and weapons drawn, but the young Na’vi were surrounded and outnumbered. Anthe was glad Lo’ak had some sense, able to recognise the danger he and his siblings were in. The soldiers forced the Na’vi to drop their weapons, quickly and aggressively grabbing them all by the queue, or hair in Spider’s case, and forcing them to their knees. With all attention on the Sully kids, Anthe crept to a lower branch, still keeping hidden behind its trunk, but close enough to easily make out the conversation below.
“Well, well, well,” The Colonel drawled. “What do we have here?” He walked the group slowly, taking in the group one by one. He paused, staring at Spider a moment seeming almost confused by him, then turned away.
“Hey, Colonel.” The soldier holding Kiri said. He was bald save the hair protecting his queue, a pair of sunglasses perched atop his head. “Check it out. Four fingers. We got a halfbreed.” The Colonel took in Kiri for a moment before turning quickly to where Lo’ak knelt.
“Show me your fingers.” Lo’ak glared daggers into the man as he raised both hands to flip him off. Anthe might have laughed if it wasn’t such a dire situation.
“Heh, you’re his, aren’t you.” The Colonel smirked, unphased by Lo’ak’s disrespect. Anthe felt the realization hit them too late, so much time had passed they had nearly forgotten Mercer’s orders for their squad before everything had gone to shit. Hunt down the traitor, Jake Sully, and kill him.
Lo’ak hissed, growling at the Colonel as he grabbed the young man by the queue, pulling him harshly away from the soldier that had just had hold of him.
“Where is he?”
“{Sorry, I don’t speak English to assholes.}” Lo’ak was keeping his cool surprisingly well, but stalling would only get him so far and Anthe knew it. The human soldiers they knew from TAP were not patient or willing to put up with much , and it was only a matter of time before someone was going to get hurt. Anthe had to figure a way to get the Sully’s out, and do it fast.
“Fine. {Where is your father?}” the Colonel growled back at Lo’ak, yanking hard on his queue to force eye contact. The Na’vi language was clunky on his tongue, sounding more like he had barely learned it. Anthe couldn’t tell if he actually learned to speak and understand the language, or just memorized the phrase enough to repeat it. Lo’ak just hissed back, in pain and fear, but gave no further response.
“Really? You wanna play it this way?” With his free hand, the Colonel pulled a massive combat knife from his belt, brandishing it before Lo’ak’s face. Anthe saw the fear in his face then, clear and bright. For a split second Anthe and Lo’ak’s eyes locked, and Anthe quickly made a shushing motion hoping he wouldn’t give them away. But just as quickly, the Colonel threw the young man aside, turning to Kiri who begged the man not to hurt her brother.
“Kehe! No! Stop!” Lo’ak yelled, trying to get the imposing man’s attention back on him. Anthe was just about to finally drop from their hiding place, trying to stop the man from taking another step towards the girl when Spider’s voice screamed through the clearing.
“Hey! Don’t touch her!” Spider struggled violently against the soldier that held him by the hair, drawing the Colonel’s attention back to him and away from Kiri. The man seemed to regard him for a moment, lowering his knife.
“What’s your name, kid?”
“Spider… Socorro.” The young man hesitated, thrown by the Colonel’s sudden calm demeanor. From where they perched, Anthe could no longer see the Colonel’s face, but watched his body language halt suddenly. The man waved off the soldier holding Spider, kneeling before the human to get more to his eye level.
“Miles?” Anthe watched a look of disgust cross Spider’s face behind his exo-mask.
“Nobody calls me that.”
“I’ll be damned. I figured they’d sent you back to earth.”
“Can’t put babies in cryo, dipshit.”
Anthe had no context for what was happening but the exchange had given them time. They kept out of sight but moved to a better vantage point somewhere above Tuk and the soldier holding her, that still let them see the rest of the soldiers. Anthe didn’t know what Lo’ak had said over comms, but as long as someone was on their way, all they would have to do is buy a little more time for them to get there. They just needed something, a distraction to pull enough attention from the Na’vi. The Colonel stood, turning away from Spider as he spoke into his own throat comm, calling in an air lift. Shit.
The soldiers dragged the Sullys, holding them in a line and binding their hands together with cuffs. The sunlight was fading fast now and a light rain had settled over the forest. Anthe stayed back only slightly, trying to keep out of sight of the soldiers that started patrolling the area again, while still keeping their own sights on everyone below. Minutes passed that felt like hours as they tried to think of anything they could do, that wouldn’t end in any of the Sully’s getting hurt.
Distantly, Anthe thought they heard an Ikran cry, and prayed they were right. A few minutes later, they heard a sharp familiar chirp that came from the trees. Neytiri. It had to be. It was a warning call for fellow hunters, letting them know help had arrived. Neteyam had taught them several calls and responses that Na’vi could recognize in a fight so that they wouldn’t have to worry about being misunderstood in an emergency. It was not a sound any human trained soldiers would know. Every set of ears around perked at the sound, soldiers suddenly hunkering down scanning the area with their guns ready. Anthe heard the soldiers whispering to each other asking what the hell was out there. They didn’t suspect Na’vi, yet.
Anthe angled themselves to get a clean shot at the soldier holding Lo’ak in place, making sure they would still be hidden from sight if anyone bothered to look up. They chirped, a similar call, but different message. I am here too. I wait for your instruction. Anthe watched the Sully children look at each other cautiously, catching Lo’ak’s subtle nod to Spider. The person Anthe hoped was Neytiri called again. Acknowledgement. The soldiers seemed to take it as wild animals calling back and forth to one another. Good. Anthe thought, taking a deep breath and relaxing themselves. They had to trust that as long as the Tuk, Kiri, Lo’ak, and Spider were in trouble, that Neytiri and Jake would not immediately kill them.
Like the good soldier they were, Anthe held the enemy in their sights, waiting for Neytiri’s order. Soldiers below started to shuffle themselves around, the bald one that originally had hold of Kiri shoving her roughly into the grip of the one that held Spider. The height difference between the two forced Kiri to bend at an awkward angle as she prayed quietly to Eywa. He jerked her head back hissing at her to shut up. And then there was an arrow in his head and all hell broke loose.
Anthe took that as their signal and pulled their trigger, not bothering to watch the soldier holding Lo’ak go limp before they started moving, as fast as they could to a new vantage. Below them, the Colonel was shouting orders again, his military phrasing pulling Anthe right back into every training drill they had ever done since the age of six. The soldiers opened fire on the trees, forcing Anthe to drop to the forest floor. They heard the tell-tale shrieks of soldiers being bitten as they hit the dirt, quickly rolling back to their feet and made a dash for where they thought they had seen Lo’ak and Spider take off. They spotted Tuk being chased only for a second arrow to make its home in the soldiers neck, but another was fast approaching, so Anthe unloaded the automatic into him before tossing it hard into the head of a third that charged forward and pulled Tuk behind a tree and into the brush before anyone could spot them.
“{Tuk! Tuk, it’s me! It’s Anthe.}” They breathed hard, trying to get the girl to stop fighting so they could cut her restraints.
“{A-Anthe!}” Tuk practically sobbed, throwing her arms around their neck. “{You came back!}”
“{Come on, we need to get out of here.}” Anthe pulled Tuk close to them, trying to shield her body with theirs. She clung tightly to their arm as the pair moved. They could hear the Colonel shouting from a distance, trying to goad Neytiri out into the open. Anthe tried to pull Tuk around the edges, keeping low in the brush. The ground had grown muddy with rain and it was making it more difficult to maneuver around. Neytiri shouted something in response to the Colonel’s jabbing, close enough that Anthe was able to clock where the woman hid in the trees. But Anthe was not the only one, as they saw another soldier creeping up behind the woman’s hiding spot. They were about to call out a warning when an arrowhead bloomed from the soldier's chest, felling him just before he could reach the Sullys’ mother.
Neteyam stood behind the dead soldier, bow drawn. Anthe didn’t know if he saw them, but there was no time to find out, as the Colonel opened fire on the area. Anthe pushed Tuk down to the dirt, covering her with their body as Neteyam and his mother ran for better cover. As soon as the fire stopped, Anthe hauled Tuk up sprinting with her, away from the battles focus. They spotted Kiri, Lo’ak, and Spider running the same way, and hauled ass to catch up, Tuk tucked under their arm.
“{Anthe!}” Kiri gasped in surprise as they launched themselves up onto the ledge created by a fallen tree next to her and set Tuk down. “{Where-}”
“{No time. Go! Now!}” Anthe pushed her to move. Lo’ak grabbed his sister by the arm, nodding briefly to Anthe before pulling her away.
“{But, Spider!}”
“{I got him, go!}” They were already reaching down to grab the human when the trunk below them exploded, throwing Anthe to the dirt hard.
Anthe’s vision swam as they gasped, trying to return the air to their lungs. Spider lay motionless less than a few feet from where they had landed. For a second they feared the worst, then saw the rise and fall of his chest as he groaned in pain and Anthe sighed in relief. They were crawling towards him when a hard boot shoved their face into the mud. Anthe scrambled to push it away, kicking and scratching as their lungs still burned for air. The boot released them and they came up with a gasp, only for it to be knocked out of them again as the boot came down again, crashing into their ribs. Anthe felt something crack.
They had lost their pack and gun somewhere in the fall and now had nothing but Tenak’s knife. They thrashed the blade wildly, still trapped on their stomach by the weight above them. Hands came down on them, pushing their face into the mud and prying the knife from their hand. A sudden sharp pain cracked across the back of Anthe’s skull and the world went black.

Tumblr media
I'm literally only making this so I can feel just a slight bit of order in my life
This is my YouTube channel where I try to post some stuff sometimes
Yeah its just the same as here but with way less stuff. BUT I SWEAR I'm working on it
This is my cohost! which is essentially my backup plan for if I leave tumblr.
Not much there yet since I'm still getting used to it
Hmm, I have an AO3 account I guess, but I haven't actually posted anything on it yet. Still figuring out how to customise it and stuff. Same name as all my other stuff: Bogos_Bint3d✨️
I like a lot of things, but I'd say the things that really have me in chokehold are: Undertale/Deltarune, Infinity Train, Ena, Spider-Man (just in general, but mostly spiderverse specifically), Murder Most Unladylike, Heathers, Sonic a little bit, Gorillaz, Sexyman Descendants (does that even count? Whatever I like it). So if you ever want to talk about these things know I would ABSOLUTELY love to. I especially love finding out new things about them so if you know something about these I don't I will eat that UP. So yeah you can follow if you're interested in any of these. I just KNOW there's a ton I'm missing but there's not really anything I can do about that
I am not in any way normal about Undyne from Undertale so I guess if you want to see me talk about her constantly that's a good reason to follow
I sometimes spam reblog if I see something that really makes me feel stuff I am so sorry about that so you might not want to follow if you don't like it
I tag my own art with #bogos I binted (hehe, get it? Photos I printed, bogos I binted... no? Yeah ok)
I tend to tag undertale art with #hotland art club, but I mostly only tag my own art. If I remember tho I'll tag other utdr art,, just don't count on it
Sometimes I tag art with Miles, Gwen, Hobie, and Pavitr as #these four are literally the besties ever, which I haven't actually done in a long time but, hey! Never know when I will again!
I tag my queued posts with #despite everything, its still queue. Yes I know the "its" should grammatically be "it's". No I don't have the energy to change it
🫨-> cool comma that will work normally in post tags: ‚ <-?! Yep! That comma WILL work if you use it in tags, it's very cool! I don't know why I mentioned that... I like it!
Well that's all there really is to me... I know there's stuff I'm forgetting to add but there's literally nothing I can do about that I'll just fix it later or whatever
