Thinking about what time means to a fae and how conscious Lilia and Malleus became to it, and in a way, always have been.

Time has always ran at a different speed to faes than humans. To them, 20 years is nothing and runs by quickly.

Yet, unconsciously, time has become a concept Lilia and Malleus is conscious of.

For Lilia, you can say it started while he traveled and looked for a way to hatch Malleus. He keeps coming back to Mal egg, and tells him how long it’s been and how he’s still looking. Lilia who would encourage him to stay strong and tell him stories about traveling.

For a fae, this passage of time would mean nothing, but Lilia felt all those years. He constantly looked and worried about Malleus. He cared about him. It wasn’t a just a needless measurement of passage anymore.

But a concept he was conscious of as he looked to the stars and wished during his travels. Of course, seeing how the world evolved helped too. But, it was always in his mind, how to care and hatch Malleus.

And then he broke down crying, saying how after 200 years, he finally met him. He was relived. He was happy. All those years? It was worth it for this very moment.

Time moves on, treaties are made and Malleus grows, and then Silver is found and he’s conscious again of time. This time, it’s how fast it is for a human. Silver grows and changes faster than a fae and Lilia is also aware of that/made aware as is Baul and Malleus. Baul because of Sebek and Malleus because of Silver.

And then they come to NRC, where Lilia becomes aware of time but with a shock. His magic is gone, faster than he accounted for and so is his time, which makes him scramble to leave so he doesn’t hurt his loved ones.

With Malleus, he is aware of time, but initially it’s based on his loved ones as well. When Lilia visits him and he gets to spend time with him, Malleus’s time with his grandmother no matter how rare it would be, and unfortunately, the incidences of his loneliness (the cakes, the scares, people running away, etc) which he is aware of.

To a degree, he also understands the passage of time with humans because of Sebek and Silver.

He helped raise Silver. He has seen some of the milestones first hand. He taught them both. Malleus states multiple times how Silver and Sebek have grown quickly. He might not be as conscious as Lilia is but he is aware of it nonetheless and probably more aware than some of the fae in his country.

It really shows how much he cares about them to be so aware of how much time passed and how they grew to be the fine guards they are.

Malleus is shocked once again with time, ironically, because of Lilia and his leaving. Because Lilia is running out of it. Like how Malleus as an egg was dying and running out of time so is Lilia now. It has come a full circle and Malleus is more conscious than ever after he first found out about Lilia’s departure.

I find it rather precious and sweet that to such a timeless race like the fae, it is because of the love they have for their family that makes Lilia and Malleus so conscious of it. Because every moment to them is valuable no matter how long you have because they love each other so much 🥹💞💚

this morning, much to my surprise, i found this blorbo on my doorstep !! as i approached him, he was muttering something about japanese footballers being shitty and something something idiots (rude !!)

upon further inspection, though he was rather grumpy despite how polite and gentle i was, i found a little tag on his suitcase that said 'cora' so i think he belongs to you !! he must have taken the wrong plane from spain oopsie (he demanded i take him to the beach as compensation)

pls feed him well and…maybe kiss him on the forehead, something tells me he likes affection a touch more than he lets on

Something about bsd abilities and trauma and also literature as escapism to face reality better. Something about Atsushi's fantasy being all about strength and self healing and a rampaging "beast beneath the moonlight" when reality forces him to rely on others to heal and emphasizes his empathy and "weakness." Something about Dazai's escapist fantasy and character trope as something "no longer human" when he actually is very much human. Something about Yosano's fantasy being a world where "thou shalt not die" when reality keeps making her face death. Something about Kunikida's desires to be a "lone poet" against the world with just him and his ideals realised when reality is full of people he can't abandon. Or Kenji escaping into a world where he is "undefeated by the rain" and putting his entire soul into living that dream out. Or Akutagawa being (philosophically) consumed by his "rashoumon" when reality shows he doesn't always have to devour and overtake....

She works at the arcade not too far from here actually..and Sakura..” 

From their every homeless gentleman in the area in line, they introduced themselves to her. (really common japanese male names). “Now you said Toji went to the center hopin’ he’d find work? I’m assumin’ he did that during the day.” And if that’s true then why hasn’t he returned to give the news to his fellow people? They were all friends afte all…this reeks..all of it. Yusuke couldn’t help but wear a worried yet frustrated look on his face and they knew what that meant.

“Urameshi-chan, I’m sure he’s alright. We have more than just one place for shelter..he’s probably out in another spot right now.” One of the gentlemen added before turning towards Sakura with a smile. “He’s ALWAYS getting himself worked up like this over other people’s problems, kind but really not good for his complexion. Wouldn’t you agree Sakura-chan?” He asked her. 

“You know, you remind me of my own daughter, last I heard about her she’s taking classes abroad.” Another man spoke as he dug into his wallet, an old wallet and took out a picture of his daughter. She must have been..fourteen in that picture. Sure enough, her hair was just as short and stylish. She looked incredibly happy.

Despite everything Yusuke couldn’t wipe the worry out of his mind. So, he’s going to do something about it. However, first things first. “Well hate t’ just run but I do have pups t’ feed back at home too and it’s getting late. The truck’s not too far from here Sakura, I’ll drive ya the rest of the way.” Said Yusuke.

“Thanks for coming again Urameshi-chan, your cooking is always top notch.” One of the gentleman spoke up, the others followed with their thanks as well.

“You have a pleasant night too Sakura-chan, try not to stay up too late.” They’d also offer words of kindness towards her as well.

yet another oc that only exists because i wanted to write something very specific

(middle is a little older, hence her scar healing. i like to think she gets a glass eye at some point)

anyway this is mira! (they/she) since that wip is almost 20k words and counting i won’t give away too much but long story short she’s the result of meta going “one last time, i promise” and adopting yet another kid

also galaxia kinda indirectly picked the name :)

i’ve mentioned before that i headcanon that pretty much all astrals are autistic and this is just kinda an extension of that. whereas meta tends to suppress his emotions and conform to others, mira…doesn’t. she gets uncomfortable and upset and lashes out at people easily, and working through their emotions is no small task.

the main reason i chose to write them that way was for the sake of narrative but i’ve grown attached to it because there’s a lot of ideas there i’d like to explore. stuff about navigating emotions and relationships when existing is so suffocatingly uncomfortable. it’s not something i could center around Kirby himself, but i think it makes sense with a post character development meta knight.

kirby was definitely very excited to have younger siblings after being used to being the youngest in the room for so long!! (with the like. one and only exception being gooey.) he’s super affectionate with both of them and wants to have a close relationship one day, but for now mira is pretty unappreciative of that fact lol. they don’t like being pestered for hugs

everyone else is okay tho

(i know that’s hard to read. oops. “obvious bite marks”. siblings being siblings.)

mira also has a very love/hate relationship with the egg kid, being so close in age they kinda Have to get along but in typical sibling nature they also fight a lot. sure it’s probably rough for a while but i think in the end they’d be good buddies. maybe not as close as Kirby and Bandee but still.

anyway i have a lot of thoughts and am very busy but. i’m really enjoying writing about all this lately it’s been fun ^^
