It wasn't until this exact moment that I realized just how like...insane this all is. Like Akutagawa is literally a superhero now. That was an Iron Man landing. Like imagine seeing this as a normal civilian???

And these guys immediately took his side not because they were intimidated by him but because that was an Iron Man landing, he's obviously here to save the day. No credentials needed, just aura.

I've joked about sskk being the Avengers of Yokohama before but like...maybe it's not a joke anymore.

Speaking of, in volume 1...I don't think I'm reading a tl that's missing any pages, so I'm fascinated by how the anime added Atsushi's reaction to his own tiger limbs after Dazai stopped his rampaging

#the anime also added a sexualisation of yosano that wasnt in the manga #in fact i constantly do get surprised that while asagiri will have characters say things in the lns and manga...#....harukawa doesnt really draw any woman very sexually #even if the tanizaki sibs still do exist #note reads bsd

To add to this is the fact that even in the Mersault arc, Dazai...does not seem to be treated as part of the ADA entirely. They all respect him and consider him one of their own, I think, but there's that extra edge of alienation he has from the rest of the ADA

What gets me about this is that actually the agency was always about protecting their own members. Fukuzawa started this to protect Ranpo, and then he extended that protection to Yosano. I'm curious now to see when they lost sight of something that Naomi immediately knew Fukuzawa never had

I do believe that Atsushi has gotten a lot of character development, but I think after him, it's Kyouka and Akutagawa who have changed the most. They really are the Trio

For some reason, I completely missed that Dazai only went for double suicide - at least manga-wise - after meeting Higuchi. I wonder if that was a sort of excuse to give him less openings to kill himself, as there are likely not many women who would do a double suicide with this guy....
