is it just me or does anyone else have a “seasonal kin” that only pops up at a specific time/times each year? i only have one as of now, and it shows up right around Christmas, then leaves by February. sometimes if spring is rather rainy i may get a small kinshift, but otherwise that particular kin shows up only during the winter festivities. does anyone else experience this?

Hello, hello, I am Prince Ezekiel Farneway of Crystallia, Millowoods.

There's not much to say about me, however, if it's of any importance, I am a Tiefling Warlock born to a very poor family, I was never meant to be prince, I was an outlaw, an outsider. When a group of rogues attacked my hometown and burnt down my village I was beyond devastated. Unfortunately, my family died with them, I was the only remaining survivor.

I ran away and fled as far as my wings and feet could take me, that was until I encountered a family of high noble elves. Despite our differences, they still took me in and adopted me as their own blood. They didn't have any children to take over the throne, so I was the one to take over for the king when it was my time.

During this time, I studied magics and healing, and animal communication, I succeeded in my studies and was top of my class, I graduated early, I befriended a tiefling who was seemingly a cleric, I do not remember his name, but he was a nice, charming, fellow.

I'm a teen, and I've only had crushes on guys before but recently I think I might have started crushing a little on my online friend, who is a trans girl. I'm sort of panicking about all this, the feelings as well as the real tangible possibility that I'm bi. I'm also worried I possibly, subconsciously see her as a guy, and that that's why I'm crushing on her. do online crushes even count? it's so confusing for me right now

Hey--I want to reassure you that you're not the only one wrestling with these thoughts, feelings and questions. One of the more wholesome stories on reddit tackles a similar issue, I'll link it here for you to read.

As someone who's genderqueer and on the aroace spectrum, I think I'm pretty qualified to say that attraction can be murky sometimes. I've met people who are initially attracted to a stranger, and then lose some or all of that attraction when they find out said stranger isn't one of the genders they'd be interested in dating. I've talked with people who thought they were 100% attracted to only one gender and then met someone of a different gender who completely changed the way they view their orientation. Hell, I know people whose preferences transcend labels entirely.

I also want to point out that there's a difference between finding traits we associate with masculinity (muscles, facial hair, lower pitched voices, etc.) or femininity (curves, long hair, higher pitched voices, etc.) attractive VS finding men or women attractive. A straight man might find himself admiring the elegance of the way a masculine-presenting individual walks, a straight woman might find a butch lesbian's biceps extremely attractive, vice versa for anyone of any sexuality that is more likely to exclude one or more genders. That doesn't invalidate the way they personally identify.

What I'm trying to say is, navigating the world of online crushes as a teen is difficult enough without the added pressure put on questioning people AND a young cis ally's concerns about navigating the transphobia and cissexism they've internalized.

While it's possible that some part of you does think of your friend as a guy, it's clear to me from your language that you're making a conscious effort to respect her identity and encourage others to do the same, and honestly? That matters more than any subconscious biases you might have.

So let me give you a reminder to help stave off those mean little wormy thoughts: you're not hurting anyone by trying to untangle your own identity--and any stereotypes you've been taught about "what makes someone a man/woman"--up in your head, or by reaching out for help and advice.

There's an arm wrapping around Lucio's waist as the streamer finally finds it in him to turn in for the evening, earlier than usual, as a soft kiss isnprrssed against the back of his lover's shoulder; " ... did i keep you waiting for too long? i had to participate in a small charity stream," he utters against the curve of the shoulder, head soon settling on top of it as Sebastian pulls Lucio closer into his embrace under the duvet.

"it was for a mental health organization," he adds under a content breath, eyes closing as a sole hand trace the front of Lucio's stomach, admiring the company he finds himself lucky enough to call his. To remain so infatuated, one could almost mistake it for a dream. Prompted by thoughts tied to previous influence, Sebastian allowed himself to embark on a series of personal questions; "... what was high school like for you?"

lucio has longed gotten used to entertaining himself when sebastian was streaming. honetly, it wasn't a hardship to him. he liked being near when his boyfriend was doing his thing, it simply meant he had company. making sure the streamer had a few snacks and hydrating drinks here and there left him a little more content with himself. it's nice, he muses, lashes fluttering low over his gaze as he snuggles back against his boyfriend, a hum in his throat at the touch.

❝ ━ nah, one of my gremlin friends kept texting me thei escapades, so i was entertained. ❞ there's a note of laughter in their voice, shifting as he drags his fingers along sebastian's forearm. ❝ ━ that's a good cause y'know ? so many people resonate with things like that. i'm proud of you. ❞

being so close like this made lucio want to fall asleep, to curl closer to sebastian and just doze off into dreamland so easily. cuddles would always make him a little clingy, but hey, if sebastian didn't mind, the witch would never mention it. cozy thoughts screech to a halt at highschool. for the memories they chose to remember, it was a quiet affair. lots of fights. lots of darkness and closed doors. secrets kept and finding themselves. stomach gives a lurch as terrible memories began creeping in. ❝ ━….terrible.❞

highschool memories were playing like a burning camera reel -- confrontations, slaps, darkness, suspensions after violence. ❝ ━ negative ten out of ten, wouldn't reccomend for anyone. bullying leaves a lasting effect that still leaves me with a deep mistrust of people and enclosed spaces. ❞ there's more, but that was the thick of it, but he's over it right ? probably more than he should admit, and yet he's comfortable enough to share.
