Through A Spell, Darkly is up! A one shot speculative AU  fic taking off from Chapter 31 of Aradia’s amazing Restitution In Absentia, this just seemed to write itself. :P A cookie: 

“Draco Malfoy stood before Voldemort, his back ramrod straight in his black robes. In his mind, he was cowering. Groveling, really. I’m such a coward, he thought. But he knew, even before he really had any way to know, that this meeting was unlike any of the others, and dangerous in a way that none of them had been. 

They were standing in the formal drawing room, the room of his home that was forever ruined for him. He never wanted to go into this peach and blue room on his own again. It was tainted by the memories of everything he had been forced to watch and forced to do here, and all by the man who stood before him now. No, not a man; far more than a man, other than mere man. He could feel the waves of power coming off Voldemort, and they were as dark and disturbed as the waves in the ocean of his mindscape had been. Except that his mindscape could be controlled. This situation could not. 

“You have… disappointed me, Draco,” Voldemort said in a silky voice. “What a pity. I had such high hopes for your handling of Ginny Weasley.” 

“What will happen now, my Lord?” asked Draco through dry lips. He knew that he should not speak. He knew that his safest course, or rather the only one that held out any hope of safety, was to remain silent. But he could not seem to stop himself from talking, as if a dybbuk had taken over his throat and was speaking impossible words. 

“I am removing the girl from your care.”

Dillom presentó Por Cesárea, su segundo disco, con dos noches agotadas en el Luna Park

El pasado 19 y 20 de junio, el mítico estadio cubierto Luna Park fue testigo de la presentación del flamante álbum Por Cesárea de Dillom (ver apartado), un material tan teatral como la puesta en escena de esos dos shows.

A estadio lleno y con la fiel idea de plasmar una obra ante su público, Dillom no dejó afuera ninguna canción de su segundo álbum de estudio y recorrió inteligentemente su trayectoria musical en shows que duraron una hora y 40 minutos, permitiéndose no incluir aquello que lo catapultó a la fama, como la BZRP Music Session y la mítica "Superglue"; dejando en claro que la innovación es fundamental para su desarrollo artístico y que no necesita apelar a la nostalgia para mover masas.

Con las voces invitadas de Lali, Fermín, Ill Quentin, Juan López y Broke Carrey, acompañado por su banda de siempre y el cuarteto divergente, Dillom presentó una setlist inmejorable. Es necesario destacar el uso de sus canciones interludio (como "Irreversible" y "Mentiras Piadosas"), fundamentales a la hora de ambientar cada transición en vivo, dos canciones que parecen compuestas para darnos un respiro entre actos.

De a poco el recital se va convirtiendo en un horror show, con un corazón latiendo desde el techo del Luna Park sobre el campo durante toda la velada, acompañando a una escenografía sombría de telones oscuros y sucios y cambios de vestuario que nos remontan a una película del género slasher. Y no es menos de lo que amerita una presentación del nuevo álbum de Dillom: con una estética que nos remonta a los mejores años de The Cure y letras que hablan de obsesión, depresión y muerte, Por Cesárea eleva la vara de todo lo que esperamos de la música urbana.

Dillom ostenta una presencia escénica nata, que a su vez se esfuerza por explotar al máximo. Puede no parecerlo para algunos, por el aspecto trashy y despreocupado de su protagonista, pero es evidente que nada en el escenario está librado al azar: cada movimiento del muchacho tiene una razón de ser, cada cambio de vestuario y cada salto. Dillom nos deja en claro que su espectáculo no es solamente la música sino que la interpretación escénica de lo que escuchamos es fundamental para transmitir su creación, y es que tanto Por Cesárea como Post Mortem pueden definirse como álbumes conceptuales y me cuesta considerar conceptual algo que no acompañe lo musical con lo visual.

Tener algo más que música para lograr transmitir lo relatado es la herramienta que Dillom tiene para cautivar masas heterogéneas de mujeres, varones y demáses, adolescentes jóvenes e incluso adultos mayores.

Lo visual, lo estético, no banaliza la música sino que es un soporte para su interpretación. En este ámbito cuasi-under, con prominencia de artistas masculinos que no se desprenden de la heteronorma, destacamos el encare de Dillom desde una perspectiva artística visual que no se ve hoy en día ni en el rock, ni en el rap, ni en el indie, ni en el punk. Solo en el Luna Park, o dónde sea que suene Dillom.

El disco

¿Qué hubiese pasado si en el "elige tu aventura" de la vida de Dillom, el super rapero nacional hubiese tomado la otra decisión disponible? Esto plantea el distópico Por Cesárea, una obra conceptual que toma el artificial nacimiento como el trauma original de un personaje retorcido, ficticio, pero peligrosamente cercano.

El disco vio la luz en mayo sin adelantos, singles ni pistas. No fueron necesarias, ¿para qué? Si bien el sucesor de una obra tan trascendental como Post Mortem era igualmente esperado y temido, se sabía que Dillom no iba a decepcionar. Y cumplió, entregando una novela corta de terror espeluznante sobre una banda sonora que goza de buena actitud punk sin renegar del hip-hop, altamente respaldado en baterías flexibles y contundentes, con el sello de calidad acústico de los Estudios Panda.

Las canciones, que en el Luna Park se probaron como nuevos himnos, ofrecen un catálogo de emociones y matices sonoros. Entre los hits, "Cirugía" es el costado más popero, la cruda trama del disco disfrazada en una ligera canción de amor, entre arreglos de cuerdas, coros y un mood medio beatlero. Al rato llega Calamaro y la música se oscurece a la par del relato.

En "Mentiras Piadosas" las esquizofrénicas voces de Broke Carrey narran el descenso a la locura del disco y parecen buscar la salvación en la experiencia religiosa que ofrece Lali en "La Carie", piano, chelo, violín y sampleo a María Elena Walsh incluidos.

Ya sumergidos en la debacle del protagonista, "Buenos Tiempos" invoca al Dillom más trash y bardero, sobre una base acelerada comandada por los bajos, con reminiscencias a Soundgarden. ¿Querías grunge? Dos platos. "Coyote" es la carta poguera del disco, el punto cúlmine de la violencia gestada hasta el último segundo de "Irreversible" para finalmente explotar en menos de dos minutos de euforia, al mejor estilo breve y contundente del Punk HC tradicional.

"Muñecas" merece un párrafo, sino un artículo aparte. La canción engloba el camino del protagonista, resumiendo lo que el disco venía sugiriendo en un monólogo crudo de pura dicotomía: del comienzo feliz con el sample de Arrested Development, la referencia a Miranda y el regreso del Dillom guarro más trapero, directo al climax de la obsesión. “No puedo evitar hacerte esto, aunque lo intente. Hay problemas que solo los soluciona la muerte”, canta y sus fieles saltamos, festejando la literatura en lo atroz. "Muñecas", como el álbum entero, es visceral y crudo, demasiado quizás. Pero las barras caen tan justas en la base, que es hermoso de escuchar a pesar de lo que dice.

Entre la nostalgia Seattle-90's se esconde "Muñecas", hit: Muñecas arranca super feliz con el sample. Despues es Dillom guarro, pero tambien arranca con algo de su vida real. cuando vivia con su amigo y la madre. “Quiero conocerte, cambiarías un poquito de mi suerte” Miranda. El primer verso es asi guarrito seductor. 

Por Cesárea cierra con dos canciones fuertemente conectadas con Post Mortem: "Reiki y Yoga", el cierre de la historia en formato crónica roja, una especie de negativo de "Amigos Nuevos": donde una era esperanzadora, la nueva sentencia al narrador. No en vano las canciones hermanas son las elegidas para despedir los shows de esta nueva gira. En tanto "Ciudad de la Paz" es una especie de "Fantasma" de Árbol, la ironía de hacer un disco sobre la vida y llamarlo Post Mortem para continuarlo con un Por Cesárea que cierra literalmente después de la muerte. Sobre una base rítmica muy cercana a "Bicicleta", de su primer disco, la canción cierra con una nota al estilo Danny Elffman, mente detrás de las bandas sonoras de Tim Burton, a quien Dillom referencia en "Muñecas". Los maestros se saludan, es la era del terror.

Who is the little spoon?

Q loves holding her. Whether it be on the couch or in bed he always needs a bit of time to hold her before they go to sleep. Holding her brings a comfort that is unmatched by anything else. Yet when he is really stressed or fighting some negative emotions about the boys on his pro bono cases, he doesn't have to say a word and lays his head on her chest and she soothingly rubs his head and neck.

Who sings in the shower?

They both do. Q will hear her when in the shower and come in and join her in the song while he shaves. When she picks songs that he doesn't know he jokingly asks her if she hates his singing.

Giving little treats back and forth has been a common theme in their relationship since they were teenagers. They are both people who constantly put others before them and they see that in each other and want to make sure the other is taking care of themselves and that is a way of doing that,

Either one will stick on a nice romcom to enjoy. They like the sweet stories and little movie nights are just a nice way to spend time together when schedules get hectic and they can't get away for date nights.

Who is more likely to feed the other in public?

They have been with each other so long that feeding each other bites of things just come naturally. If there is a dish they like they want the other to try it and they definitely have bought things to share but Ginny has to hold it because Q will scarf it down in a couple bites.

Who gives the other random little compliments?

Both do in spoken comments and in little notes that they leave for each other. They find it very important to be each others biggest encourager. And it isn't rare that every now and then they leave each other a card with a love note that has nothing to do with an anniversary or holiday.

Ginny steals it off of his. He doesn't care but just wants her to verbally admit that she is a thief.

Either one would let each other use their car if needed. Q likes to take her car sometimes and fill it up with gas and such so she won't have to stop during the week.

Ginny is definitely the more organized one in making lists. It makes it easier to make sure they have everything for the family dinners and packed lunches. Q just says yes to everything the boys throw in the cart when he takes them.

They both take care of each other and make sure that they have what they need. Q forces her to stay in bed longer, making tea the way that she likes it and tells her he can take care of everything else.

Who watches sports and has to teach the other the rules?

Ginny was a cheerleader and at all his football games so she already knows the rules. She watches with him because he loves it and makes an effort to remember players names so they can talk about it. Q always notices the effort and honestly just loves seeing her in a Bears jersey.

Who pulls the other to their feet for a dance in the living room?

They have been dancing with each other since they were kids. It is something they will be doing until their last days together. As long as he is able to stand he is dancing with her.

Who has to keep reminding the other to hurry or they’ll be late?

They are both punctual people so neither really needs to tell each other. Telling the kids is a different story and a tag team job.

Who is the one most likely to get a tattoo with the other’s name?

While they wouldn't get full names, I could see them getting each others first name initial on the inside of their wedding ring finger.
