I love that so much modern day set fic have lqg be a physical therapist. Like yes the only thoughts in his head are about fighting, and he is the furthest thing from a healer that you could have, and yes, he is jock/athlete coded.... but he is sqq's personal without a cure cramp heat pad and that character role is so impactful it's affecting his career options.

”Go get Mu-shishu now,” were Luo Binghe’s first words when she entered. It was clear he couldn’t go himself: he was practically wrapped around Ming Fan’s shaking figure, keeping his thrashing limbs pinned down. And everywhere there was so much blood.
“What happened?” she breathed, fishing out a communication talisman and imbuing it with qi, watching it crumble to ash. Mu Qingfang would—hopefully—get it and come to Qing Jing Peak with all haste. But now all they could was wait.
“Qi deviation,” Luo Binghe said shortly. “I found him like this, and I—I don’t know what to do.” His voice stuttered and for the first time he sounded unsure. Ning Yingying was suddenly terrified. How much blood could he lose?
Ming Fan shuddered and pressed his face into Luo Binghe’s shoulder. “Mu-shishu will be here,” Ning Yingying whispered, reaching out to stroke his tangled, bloodied hair. She ached to see him like this.
Luo Binghe’s head was bowed over him and she could see the way his arms tightened around Ming Fan. Everything had changed with Shizun’s death—and the three of them had been left spinning in circles, no longer sure of where they stood with the peak, with each other. Shizun had been what had bound them together—for good or bad—and now he was gone. So she could only imagine what was going through her shidi’s mind, holding someone he had hated and who had hated him in return, and trying to keep him from dying. They were navigating uncharted waters, uncertain of what waited for them.
“Mu-shishu will come.” It sounded less like reassurance and more like a prayer.

Constantly thinking abt Liu Qingge catching feelings for newly transmigrated Shen Qingqiu, only to live in perpetual limbo over it because he’d mentioned SQQ too many times to Mingyan, who’d asked him about “Shen-shishu’s weird gay thing with the sect leader?” And it’s just. The more he watches: yeah, Shen Qingqiu and Yue Qingyuan really do have a weird gay thing.

Come on guys, don't leave these in the tags, I miss them sometimes (says the one that likes to place all their thoughts in the tags..)
I imagine the courting would work sort of like demon courting, but also different in certain ways. From what I seem to recall (I can't tell if this is canon or fanon), demons kinda beat up their partners as proof that they, themself, are stronger and therefore can provide and protect. On the other hand, dragons go about trying to murder their person of interest to see if their potential mate has what it takes to provide for their young and uh, survive bonding events ☺️
So it's different intensity and intention, but would look quite similar on the outside. Ofc, that's not all it is. Dragons have hoards, and if they consider you in the highest regard, they may part with select belongings as gifts. But don't expect it to happen, and definitely not often, it really depends.
Also SY absolutely clocks onto what MBJ is doing immediately. Results in earlier revelations for Moshang. He's just very judgemental, looking at the Icy Lord™ persistently beating up this scrawny pathetic hamster of a man that clearly doesn't even want to fight back. Where's the appeal? Isn't that just bullying? Just add him to your hoard if you like him so much.
And on that note, family building isn't the only way to get a dragon's love and attention! This inspo came to me whilst replying to the comments, but there's no limits to a dragon's hoard! Which can totally include living beings, sentient or otherwise. That... May have caused issues in the past, in SY's old world, but that's a story for another day! One could totally become a hoard member (not that it happens often, what with dragons being mostly unknown and all, at least their types). And that's what I imagine YQY would be. He shows up with all those hoard-worthy gifts and looks like a kicked puppy, SQQ-Yuan can't help but be endeared.
What does it mean to be a hoard member, you ask? Well, guaranteed protection, for one. Maybe possessiveness and control for some dragons, it depends on the dragon. SY is on the more relaxed side of the spectrum, so YQY lucked out (or maybe not, that guy honestly might've preferred it, who knows). Anyways, main difference between being in a dragon's hoard vs family, is that they always ensure the wellbeing of their hoard. The sect leader looks more tired than usual? Dragged to bed or bullied into his nest to sleep. SY absolutely ignores any misunderstandings and cues ppl are getting from this, or the complicated past his host body shares with his hoard member. You know, like the smart dragon he is. YQY is absolutely overjoyed, but he also needs his Xiao Jiu to tone down a little- (when he called him Xiao Jiu, SQQ hissed and looked like he would bite his head off). It was a good thing he was the strongest cultivator of his generation, because God forbid he shows up with some sort of injury, SY might be out for blood.
(The Peak Lords are furiously testing for possession)
Went on a tangent there, but anyw, hoards! Instead of the typical gold and valuables, hoards generally consist of what dragons find precious and hyperfixate on. Truly fitting the ADHD peak, Yuan. Ofc, shinies and valuables make their way in there naturally, but they don't all consist of priceless goods or artifacts, once again it ranges from dragon to dragon.
I like to imagine that SY's hoard as SQQ consists of a whole assortment of fans and choice monster parts, some of those from LQG (ideal mate!!). Wld say rare plants as well, but despite fanon interpretations, canon SY doesn't actually seem to have much interest in the different plants and flowers used as plot devices. Also, if his hoard ever contained a plant that Qian Cao maybe really needed, that'll just cause quite a bit of conflict.
SY's hoard in his old world is absolutely still with him tho. How, you ask? Ever try to separate a dragon from its hoard? ☺️🔪 He would have truly done everything in his power to eviscerate the damn system, consequences be damned. System realised SQQ wouldn't be able to direct the story properly in that state either, so now he basically has the privilege of a neverending inventory for his hoard, with all his belongings from his old world included, under the condition that no inhabitants of his current world would be allowed to see it. I reckon this would give rise to funny shenanigans between the transmigrator duo. Also, funny scenarios like him pulling out neverending fans from his sleeves, that actually came from his inventory (Shen-shixiong why do you have so many fans in your sleeves?!), or even just those hilarious memes of people pulling huge or numerous objects out of a small space.
Tumblr media
Oh, Shen Yuan absolutely does that, it was even written into one of my reblogs, but then I didn't know you had to press save as draft specifically and deleted the whole thing... With other things... Sighhh. Let me try to rmb what I wrote...
LQG, decidedly not on the same page: it's just what Bai Zhan does as training. Why should your disciples be trying to kill you?
SQQ ignores any further questions and decides that the children must just not have enough training! He's heard their wishes! Man he is so good at this parenting thing!
QJP now harbours a lifetime grudge against BZP. Shizun, they're the scholarly peak. Shizunnn! They've raised their skill level, but at what cost?
SQQ frequently sends his disciples out on monster hunts and such, as tests, for experience, to hone their skills... Etc. All perfectly normal for a Shizun to do, if it wasn't for the sheer level of difficulty of some of them. There absolutely have been interventions by Peak Lords, because, are you trying to get those disciples of yours killed, Shen-shixiong???
But... Once the disciples are actually questioned, none of them seem truly dissatisfied. Sure, their shizun sends them out on all manners of quests, generally forcing them to utilize all they have and push their limits in order to complete it (even dragon younglings cannot be called weak-), but no one is ever truly in danger of dying, even if there are injuries aplenty (but also someone better tell SY soon that human young can't regenerate their limbs-). Ofc, there have been instances where the disciples have almost died, but Shizun is always there at the sidelines, swooping in to rescue his ki- uh, the disciple in question, and then promptly mauling the creature responsible before he turns back to cluck and fuss over the disciple. Despite that, everyone still tries their darnest tho, for one, it's to make their Shizun proud, but also more importantly, despite the fussing and coddling immediately after, the disciple in question is always subjected to training from hell in the near future.
Also concerningly brought up to the Peak Lords' notice, SQQ seems to deeply lament about how none of his kids, even grown up as they are, have taken a shot at him (in a murderous way). Sure, it's cute how they stick to him so much and seem really attached, but he could've sworn he wasn't this attached to his parents, even as a hatchling? Was it because he was still a juvenile, and therefore didn't exert the same pressure as an adult, so the kids don't feel the same compulsion to attack him??
Regardless, peak lords try to subtly question SQQ to gauge his mental state. Could it be the grief of losing his favourite disciple causing all of this...? But, nope. An off-handed remark from SQQ-Y abt his fun experience of trying to murder his mom has them realizing that, oh, nevermind, SQQ just has a skewed perception of what normal is. How did they never notice this before???
Meanwhile YQY is just ??? When did this happen?
A few of them could catch on that something may not exactly be adding up. How is that thought in any way normal and persist for so long? I want this to end in a reveal eventually, someway or another, and writing all of this out is making me more and more tempted to just write a fic abt it.
What should I name this AU? Just dragon au? Lol. Unhinged dragon AU.
Here are the people that made the tags: @arsonisticscholar @howam-i-theparent
Just had a sudden thought of Dragon!Shen Yuan (or any creature really) AU, where it was like a normal rite of passage for parents to raise their young (protectively, they're not jerks, just uh, very unsafe for human children, or just humans in general...), then throw them into some sort of extreme trial to prove their strength, when they're deemed ready. Oh, and it was normal, expected, even, to take a go at your parents and try to murder them as a proof of superiority, or smt like that. Doesn't mean they don't love each other! Dragons just have a different way of showing care, that's all. What's a lil play fighting?
Anyw, main point is, SY transmigrates into SQQ with this mentality. Sees his cute little sheep. Falls in love instantly and adopts him. But oh! Oh, the protagonist is so weak, so malnourished! He's gonna nurture him and make sure he's well taken care of! Such a scrawny little sheep can't possibly survive anything! Oh? What's that? He has to push the scrawny baby into the abyss? Well! Makes sense, but that's years into the future, and he has time to make sure they grow up big and strong yet! Cue all the canonical pampering.
I'd imagine during LBH's disciple days, he receives a lot more comments about him going out into the world, and there's less matchmaking from Shizun, since SY believes that girls will flock naturally to him if he's strong enough, so there's also more emphasis on his training, as well as the training of other disciples on the peak. I'm not sure how he'll react to Bai Zhan disciples. Does he comment on their strength and set off the QJP disciples, causing an interpeak war? Does he still hold the same annoyance for them and property damage?
By the time the IAC rolls around, SQQ has already sent his not so little white sheep all over to gain experience, and deemed him ready for his 'coming of age' (close to human adulthood too, he'll do fineee). There is far less tears and hesitation. When the time comes and LBH's seal is broken, SQQ feels the increase in power and the last of his worry dissipates. He basically just looks at his kid, nods, and chucks him in. Dusts off his hands and pats himself on the back. One child down, however many more to go. Oh, they grow up so fast... (Was LBH freaking out during this? Oh well, must be the nerves, he knew the feeling well. But he's read the book and knows what's going to happen. His kid will be okay, and he'll naturally gain confidence after surviving in there!... No one ever said dragons were GOOD at feelings ...)
Of course, it takes some time to adjust to the absence, but there's less grieving and freaking out over his impending doom. Sure, he's judging the original work a little. Limbless and hanging, really? SY much prefers a clean death, thank you. (How he died in his previous life is up to interpretation). But that's besides the point, his favourite is off on his trial, and it's about time to test a few of his other kiddos too (single dad to, uh, how many?)
Shen Qingqiu gains reputation as a sadistic (?) teacher that puts his disciples through dangerous missions seemingly without care, but unlike in the past, he seems to love the kids and dotes on them off-missions, so no one's really sure what's going on with... That. (He's still waiting for one of them, any of them, to try and kill him? Where's the bonding?? Was he not doing enough???)
So when LBH returns, things go uh, differently. SQQ is just here, waiting in anticipation, appreciating how his kid's all grown up, and seeing the scheme to unfold. Safe to say, people are confused. (Him, especially. What do you mean, his kid isn't trying to kill him?? Really, where did he go so wrong in parenting? None of his kids want to bond with him the proper way!!)
(I imagine SY being a better fighter than in canon due to literal trial of fire as a dragonet, and I'm not sure if he would've gotten hit with without a cure at all during the invasion in consideration of this)

love your role reversal au, not enough of those in the world, peak lord bingge is already annoyed with lqg, how will he feel with the intrusion of qiong ding's head disciple yue qingyuan? yqy is probably dropping by qing jing every week or so to see his xiao yuan
not to mention all the peak lords who've probably been treating shen yuan like the head disciple/peak lord whenever bingge has been away once shen yuan's cultivation reached a suitable level of cultivation, a level possibly helped by mu qingfang who might drop by with some pill or tea that's supposed to help those who started cultivating late if not because mfq admires shen yuan then it's absolutely because mfq figures that if sy is going to get into trouble and perform self sacrificing stunts even WITH lqq there as a bodyguard, sy needs his cultivation improved stat to he'll have a better chance of surviving and not needing to be on the medical peak every other day
We know that Cang Qiong prides itself as being very familial, and says its peak lords are very close.. we also know that wasn't really true until shen yuan transmigrated, because before that, everyone except for Yue Qingyuan hated shen jiu.
So I'm imagining peak lord Luo Binghe who does not give a fuck about any of his martial siblings except for Liu Mingyan.. but shen Yuan gets along GREAT with all the other head disciples. Everyone sees Shen Yuan, Liu Qingge, Qi Qingqi, etc etc all hanging out having picnics regularly and they're like "the next generation of peak lord are going to be SO close" and binghe is the only one who absolutely hates it.
Yue Qingyuan asks to hang out with Shen Yuan and Binghe says Shen Yuan spends too much time with him, and Shen Yuan replies "but if shizun has chosen me as the next peak lord of Qing Jing... shouldn't this one foster a good relationship with the future sect leader" and binghe feels like he's been punched in the stomach. Binghe kind of gets off on being shen yuans shizun and therefore holding authority over him, so the idea that one day he'll be out of the picture and it'll be SECT LEADER YUE telling him what to do... he's going insane.
I haven't quite decided what to do with Yue qi and shen jiu's backstories and how they're related to shen yuan... maybe shen jiu will join Qing Jing Peak later and become another person binghe hates because they keep stealing away shen yuan
As for Mu Qingfang... I think he's very protective of Shen Yuan because they are friends but also.. he definitely sees Shen-shixiong as his little lab rat. How is it possible for one man to get hit with so many wife plots poisons and enemies? He made an entirely separate patients log just for shen yuan because of how frequently he visits him. The log was layer refined into a medical guide on various illnesses and injuries and their symptoms, and Mu Qingfang is widely renowned for his book. No one knows that the entirety of the book is documenting just one person.

Did I make an au just for a rarepair? Yes, but heres my idea of a shen twin au
In my version Shen Yuan transmigrates into the body of 5 yr old Shen Shi, twin of Shen Jiu. It is very important to note that in this au SJ and YQ refer to SY with "A-Shi" and "Xiao-Shi" respectively, and SY takes up the identity of Shen Shi. SY is also fully cognizant when he migrates so he has the complete thoughts of a 20~ yr old while in the body of a 5 yr old. This causes some major dysphoria and also anger at the helplessness of being in a body that does not fit him and also the fact that he has no social nor physical power because he is a child. He also views SJ and YQ as his little brothers even if he is actually the youngest physically.
He eventually is taken in my the Qiu family alongside his brother. It is when SJ starts to bond with Qiu Haitang that it finally pieces together that his brother is going to be SQQ and grieves for the events that he knows is going to happen to him. The building rage and anger at the helplessness of the situation culminates in Shen Yuan starting the massacre with SJ instantly jumping in and causing the majority of deaths. When SJ carries out the unconscious body of Qiu Haitang SY realizes the opportunity in front of him. He knows that she is going to be the kickstarter of his brother's downfall and in that moment grabs the nearest weapon, and with a heavy heart, kills her as SJ watches in shock. He turns to SJ telling him "You can't leave any witnesses, they always eventually spill" before both run off. I dont know what to do with the Wu Yanzi so I'm ignoring it for now. And im also unsure if he gets a system but we'll see.
Eventually they meet up with Yue Qi now Yue Qingyuan and the anger SJ has towards him. SY is also angry but its more so for SJ's sake than his own. The two of them become a part of Cang Qiong sect and while SJ is taken in by the Qing Jing peak, SY is taken in by the beast and flora peak (which I do not have named). They both become head disciples and later peak lords. SY also is able to clock that SQH is not the original version due to airplane saying a modern phrase and a friendship forms. SY is also the one to start biting and defending his brother when QQQ or LQG take potshots at him. It's while they are still disciples that SY meets Su Xiyan while hes on a mission and they worked together for a bit before SXY split. They continued to meet up until eventually a friendship formed and SY meets TLJ a "companion" of SXY. SY clocks who the two of them are goes to SQH to learn all he can about them and their future. SXY and TLJ eventually fall for each other and SY makes sure to prevent the palace master from finding out as long as he can. He also warns them about the palace master and to not trust any letters not hand delivered by SY as he will act as a middle person to make sure no one intercepts them. It is also during this time that SXY and TLJ both gain interest in SY. Neither can explain fully why but his autistic swag, photographic memory and ability to name drop paragraph long information in seconds intrigued them. They start courting him, shen yuan is of course oblivious. It is also important that SY introduced himself to TLJ and SXY with the name "Shen Yuan" so only the two of them refer to each other as such. He also clocks when SXY is pregnant and tells her as such when symptoms start to show and again, not to trust the palace master. By this time he is now a peak lord alongside his brother.
Eventually the old palace master finds out and instead of targeting TLJ, he first targets their lynch pin, shen yuan. He sends letters to SJ and YQY about SY being a traitor. Showing him being a demon sympathizer and hanging out sect secrets that actually SQH was leaking due to the system. SY is captures, a trial occurs and SY is charged as guilty with the punishment of execution, but YQY and SJ object. Since it was CQ secrets he was sharing they have the official say. So instead of execution they instead lock him up on the beast peak using talismans and sigils. He is not allowed to talk to anyone besides fellow peak lords and his head disciple. He cannot leave the peak without another peak lord monitoring him and this also applies when teaching. This lockdown completely breaks him as he lost trust with his family and the confinement dives him crazy as a peak lord he commonly left to document and work upon his bestiaries. This leaves him in a depressive state and constantly paranoid as he cant trust anyone. And No One has told him definitive news if SXY and TLJ are safe, SQH has confirmed that TLJ was not captured and helped SXY but he has no clue where they are now and if baby LBH is with them. As SY is confined on his mountain he stops caring about appearances and starts wasting away seen in image 3. I havent figured the rest out with LBH but he does become a part of cang qiong sect under Qing Jing, the abuse he faces stays the same. If he is raised with TLJ and SXY or by the washer woman I do not know yet. LBH hearing about the rumors of a monster on the beast peak heads out and comes face to face with SY who is delighted to see him but also horrified that about 14+ years have now passed. This pushes him a little out of his depressive episode because now he has a son to take care of and he can't waste away in front of him. He needs to act strong. He teaches LBH the best he can while contained and tells him about his parents. The two form a father son dynamic where both cant really escape the situation they are in but at least have each other for company. SY also holds onto LBH's jade pendant so it isnt lost. He also tells LBH that if he meets a demon named TLJ, to mention the name Shen Yuan.
While on a mission LBH meets up with TLJ and tells him that he's met SY and TLJ loses it (pos). He asks where he is as SXY and TLJ have been trying to find him with no success. He is told that hes on the beast peak in cang qiong and has been contained there for the last 16 years. TLJ then hatches a game plan to free him and the decide to use the immortal conference as a distraction. Most of the cultivation world will be at that conference so minimal security will be held at the sect. They use this to their advantage. TLJ strikes a deal with MBJ to cause a distraction to keep the cultivation world on the two of them even if alarms go off that SY is escaping. MBJ agrees to this as TLJ allows him to target any huan hua disciple he sees (they dont tell SXY this). While they cause a distraction by appearing on the 7th day of the conference, SXY sneaks into cang qiong peak and works on the talisman and sigils. This works and eventually she gets to SY he sees the bad shape he is in, but it was better than what LBH originally saw. The two of them start crying and SXY activates a 2 way communication artifact with TLJ telling him it was a success.
TLJ then turns to MBJ and MBJ teleports, appears in front of SXY and SY and teleports the two of them to the demon world. TLJ then turns to his son who's demon seal now broke and decides to do some father son bonding and the two both go into the eternal abyss together, as this is a tradition for heavenly demons. The two of them return after 1-2 years and have MBJ teleport them out rather than using Xin Mo.

SVSSS fanfic that I will never write-
LBH post canon accidently goes back in time. How? I don’t know, it isn’t important. If I had to pick a stupid reason, then in PIDW had a storyline where LBH went back in time to a wife’s past to like… learn more about her? To help her in the trauma? IDK but what I do know is that Peerless Cucumber would have ranged for hours about Airplane adding in the concept of time travel and then doing nothing else’s with it.
And guess who the subject of the wife plot is now??? That’s right- SQQ. Except the wife plot took the body and not the soul, and now Binghe is back during SJ’s disciple days.
LBH somehow, as the main character, manages to convince the peak lords of the time that he’s of Qing Jing! He is, really! He really laid on the charm here.
Previous Sect leader: I don’t know if I believe you, but since you look like such a polite young man-
LBH gets escorted away to a room by the head disciple. And who is the head disciple of the sect leader peak??? It’s Yue Qi, sad and depressed and lifeless because LBH managed to find himself in the period of time where YQY thinks SJ is dead!
LBH: I want to meet my young Shizun. Shen Qingqiu- Shen Jiu I think now?
YQY: …. Xiao Jiu is dead?
LBH: Maybe in the future for like five years but not right now!! He’s my super awesome Shizun! …. Do you want to drop everything to go look for him?
YQY: Oh boy, do I!!!
So the two bounce from the sect with no warning, looking Shen Jiu. Luckily, now knowing that he is alive and didn’t die in the fire, it’s pretty easy to follow the line of gossip that follows WY and SJ. And of course, the entire time, LBH is praising his Shizun.
Now, he hasn’t said that he was married to his Shizun. He didn’t want to spoil that just yet! He’ll reveal that to his younger Shizun himself when they find him. But until then, he can still tell YQY how awesome his Shizun is, and how nice, and how close he was to SQH and LQG and even to YQY himself! (That last one was a bit of a fib, of course. SQQ was always a little uncomfortable around the sect leader. But YQY was eating all of this up, being so happy that his childhood friend was so happy and well liked, and well…. It was only a small fib)
They finally catches up with them, and quickly dealing with the other guy, YQY and SJ have a nice reunion, having both think the other was dead! And of course, it was incredibly clear that YQY had been looking for SJ this whole time, which does wonders for his abandonment issues. SJ may yell at YQY for leaving the sect so suddenly and risking everything just for him, but on the inside, he is bursting for joy, trust me.
LBH is not bursting for joy. Like, at all. He had been so excited to see his Shizun but young and now that he’s here…. Something inside of him and screaming that this wasn’t his Shizun.
He had no reason to believe that. This was very clearly SQQ at 14~. But of course, he’s the 200 IQ protagonist and figures it out quickly that his wonderful Shizun/husband took over his body when LBH was 14 and that this was his shitty Shizun that made his early years in the sect awful.
He’s fully ok with that. If his husband needs to possess another man to be with him, than who is LBH to judge? Only the best body for him! The problem is, of course, that he has spent the entire trip over ranting to YQY about how good of a teacher SQQ was to him, and now YQY is excitedly telling everything he said to SJ. LBH can’t just…. Back track now! That would be weird, and if they think that someone will possess SJ later, then what if his husband never shows up??
So he goes along with it. It isn’t hard- he doesn’t hate SJ, not like PIDW him would. He was only under him for three years~ and a lot of what happened to him was still being justified in his head. So it’s just… whatever, to him at that point. He confirms what YQY had been saying, spins a charismatic lie to the sect about why they left and how GREAT SJ will be as a disciple in the future, and then he leaves. Just, fades away in front of everyone.
And now this is SJ’s life. He thinks he’s a good Shizun in the future, even if he can’t stand kids. He think that he becomes friends with SQH and LQG, which is oddly hard to do?? LQG angrily wants to fight him every time he sees him, which is super annoying, and SJ is 88% sure that SQH is talking to demons but, you know. If another version of him managed to become their friend without future knowledge, then he has to do it now! He has a head start on the race here, no way is he losing it!
He does become friends with them, and is still incredibly close to YQY as they grow up. He’s still… him, but his major heart demons- the abandonment by his Qi-Ge and being unsafe even in the sect- aren’t there anymore. He even manages to be an ok Shizun to a young LBH, somehow. He’s pretty sure that he’s sucking at that, btw, because the little brat gets on his nerves when they are in the same room for more than five minutes, but he’s being mostly polite! He had to wonder what the other version of him did to get such a glowing review from the future version of his disciple, because it has to be more than this.
Ironically, because I think it’s funny, this is the timeline that our LBH finds himself back in. The time travel was always meant to be a stable one timeline kinda thing, so anything he changed in the past affected the future. I imagine in PIDW that LBG didn’t do much of anything but maybe comfort his future wife, for Airplane’s fear of making a confusing paradox for himself. But this Binghe? Oh no, he did so much!
Because he saved SJ some heart demons, and helped him make friends despite his trauma, he’s not as prone to Qi divinations! Which means that he didn’t have a fatal one when LBH was 14! Which means when LBH gets back to his time after all of that, he takes one look at his ‘Shizun’ and knows that this isn’t his husband. Which means that his husband never possessed SJ!
He’s horrified, and spends a whole day moping around the peak, trying to think of ways to fix this. He has just gotten himself worked up to go and do something drastic when NYY finds him.
NYY: There you are!! Shen-Shidi has been looking for you all day!
LBH: H-huh?
NYY: Why are you moping around, huh? Did you and Shen-Shidi have a fight? Don’t worry! He’s your husband, I know he’ll forgive you-!
LBH: WHAT.
And that’s how he learns that while he isn’t married to his Shizun in this timeline, he is married to his Shixiong, Shen Yuan! Shen Yuan, who got shoved in Willy nilly when the system realized that SJ wasn’t going to die when he was supposed to.
There’s probably some sequel where LBH has to fake that he has memories of what happened in this timeline, which I imagine is somewhat close to Svsss? The system was still running around, even if a major player has changed. And LBH would just be so bad at faking it in front of two people and two people only- SJ and SY.
SY: Binghe, don’t you remember our first date? :)
LBH: …It wasn’t the water prison!
SY: ….that statement is correct but also the wrong answer.
And
SJ: Beast, you’re not coming to this Immortal Convenance. Don’t you remember meber what happened last time?
LBH: …. You didn’t push me into the endless abyss?
SJ:… That statement is wrong and I was also going for the HHP tag alongs you obtained.

[Swap AU] doodle postings
SWAP AU's storyline is somehow similar to the SVSSS itself. It's just that our transmigrators (Shen Yuan and Shang Qinghua) and the peak lords are demons of this story and our demons of the original svsss (Luo Binghe and Mobei-jun) are the ones who transmigrated in the novel. To be precise, our author now is Mo Beijun aka Lord of the Frost and the anti-fan now is Luo Binghe aka Heavenly Pillar while our demons are now Yuan-Jun aka Shen-Jun (Qing Jing Demon Lord - Heavenly Demon) and Shang-Jun (An Ding Demon Lord - Fire Demon).
Although, pretty much the same, I tried to make some different plot points because I'm trying to fill in these plot holes (like Shen Yuan lmao).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
SQH - Fire Demon / An Ding Lord
QQQ- Flower Demon / Xian Shu Lord
MQF - Snake Demon / Qian Cao Lord
LQG- Water Demon / Bai Zhan Lord
YQY- Heavenly Demon / Qiong Ding Lord

Romantic bingqiu with queerplatonic liushen and eventual queerplatonic bingliushen, pretend relationship
---
When Binghe is in the abyss, Lqg gets into a bit of a conundrum.
Political peak lord reasons make him have to find a partner, as quickly as possible. Seeing his friend strangely upset about him, Sqq goes to reassure him that he could get any girl he wants and gets an awkward confession instead that Lqg, in fact, isn’t interested in anyone either romantically or sexually and probably never will be. Sqq, bro that he is, makes a suggestion. They’re going to pretend to be a couple so Lqg doesn’t have to get together with anyone that would have expectations.
This goes surprisingly well. Lqg visits Sqq so often that he might as well live in the bamboo house too and no one doubts that they’re a couple. They get along well after a few initial hiccups and quickly grow very fond of each other until they’re inseparable.
After almost two years of all that, Binghe returns from the abyss and, through the power of communication and Lqg’s bluntness, makes up with Sqq and returns to Qing Jing Peak as a disciple, miraculously recovered from death.
At this point, Binghe doesn’t feel entitled to his Shizun’s love, so when he finds out that Liushen are “together”, he quietly accepts it even though his heart breaks a little.
Several months pass that look somewhat like this:
Lqg goes on hunts, brings Sqq back interesting things and is overall very content with his life. He also expects Sqq to eventually get together with the disciple he acted like a grieving widow about for so long. He’s secure enough in his relationship with Sqq to know that it won’t change that much, even when Bingqiu happens.
Sqq is ecstatic that Binghe is back and that he has somewhat forgiven him. He can’t stop touching him and making him spend time with Sqq and squeezing as much time and attention out of Binghe as he can while wondering why he still wants more. He’s also very confused as to why he keeps getting upset when Binghe talks too much to any girl or is out of his sight for more than two hours. Lastly, Binghe seems strangely down, but Sqq is sure it’s just the lingering trauma from the abyss. He also keeps the fact that his relationship with Lqg is purely queerplatonic a secret, partly because he barely even remembers these days that they’re pretending to be romantic and partly because he doesn’t want to betray Lqg’s trust.
Meanwhile, Binghe is devastated every time he sees Liushen being tender or comfortable with each other and more or less depressed the rest of the time. He looks at Sqq yearningly 16 hours a day and cries into his pillow every night. He hates Lqg with all of his soul, but can’t even find that much fault with him except that he doesn’t cook or clean for Sqq and that he doesn’t flatter and admire Sqq enough and that he isn’t jealous enough and does Sqq even feel loved???
He goes through a whole arc of cooking and cleaning for Sqq before he realises that it makes him too sad to do that when Sqq will never return his love. He also decimates three entire demon clans and the demon realm is weeping and desperately trying to find Binghe a bride so he’ll calm down.
It all comes to a head when Binghe decides he can’t take it anymore and packs his little rucksack to leave Qing Jing Peak. He only gets halfway down the mountain before Lqg catches him in the act and confronts him because: Is he going to abandon Sqq? Does he not love him after all??
Binghe tensely tells him that he doesn’t need to worry, Binghe isn’t going to try and steal him from Lqg. He was just about to leave.
Lqg replies that he better get his butt back up there and explains the situation to him.
Having his worldview rearranged, Binghe quietly goes back to the dorms and takes a few days to process the information. Lqg and Sqq are together but not romantically? Not even sexually? Binghe isn’t quite sure how someone can be with Sqq in a purely platonic way but he’s prepared to accept it. It takes him a while, but eventually, he reaches the conclusion that: if he has the chance to be with Sqq as long as he accepts that Lqg is going to be a part of their life too, he’s gonna take it.
Meanwhile, Lqg has told Sqq all of his confrontation with Binghe and Sqq is highkey panicking. What if Binghe hates him now for being gay for him? Probably gay. Admittedly, likely gay. What if he’s disgusted with him?? He wavers between going to talk to Binghe about it and avoiding him at all costs.
In the end, it’s Binghe who confronts him and they have a long talk that ends with them snogging on the floor, Binghe crying, and two emotionally constipated love confessions.
It takes some time, but the three find a way to fit together. Bingqiu are unbearable the first while and Lqg goes on many, many hunts to not hear anything he doesn’t want to hear. But, eventually, Lqg returns to being a frequent visitor and even spends the night there now and then. Binghe grows… fond… of Lqg. He supposes. At least somewhat. Lqg thinks Binghe is a little strange, but he’s Lqg’s now, so that’s alright. Sqq can be a bit strange too. Bingqiu are still unbearable, but what can you do? In the end, they’re happy in their own way, all three of them.

Looking for a fix I read once
It’s apart of a series I think, or at least had a prequel. The prequels had kid LBH and adult LBH switch places. Both I think were from SQQ’s perspective.
Adult LBH cures without a cure, kid LBH spends the day with older SQQ and learns all about System and how SQQ knows he’s a demon bc the System allows SQQ to speak about it now that the “story has ended”.
I think at some point after they switch back to their rightful places, they all meet and both SQQs have an argument (but that could’ve been in the main story I don’t remember)
The main story is focused on kid LBH and younger SQQ after the swap. How they plan for the abyss and all that, I think there’s also some soulmate stuff going on in a way. YQY is placed as a bad guy in this fic, with him being obsessive over SQQ, especially after the abyss arc where SQQ becomes unwell and gets like a streak of white hair.
The other peak lords, especially LQG and QQQ become protective of SQQ against YQY and become great friends with him.
Once LBH exits the abyss, he immediately goes to Qing Jing Peak. YQY sees SQQ becoming more romantically involved with LBH and gets worse, crossing SQQs boundaries frequently.
It ends with YQY kidnapping SQQ, being removed from his position as sect leader, and having a fight to the death with LBH (who wins obviously) and before he dies he’s told that SQQ is pregnant
The prequels are one shots I think and the main story even has a festival episode, where LBH and SQQ learn about their connected soulmate strings of fate. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the name of the fic series, the fics themselves, or the author, but it was on AO3.
Pleeeeaaase help me find this fic I’ve been looking for it for forever

Just on "is Ming Fan the Head Disciple", I don't have access to the revised originals but does SQQ no longer call LBH his 关门弟子 while he's mentally roasting LQG for telling him he can always get a new disciple? Because CQM has that strong tradition that all Succeeding Disciples/Future Peak Lords get cute matching courtesy names I was assuming that none of the Peaks had one yet but if LBH is still Official Final Disciple that would still give him a strong position by the power of Xianxia Tropes.
I just checked, and yes, SQQ still does refer to LBH as 关门弟子 in that scene! Of course, this is the only time the term is used in the novel, so it doesn't seem to hold any kind of official meaning, but instead is simply referring to the trope itself (for those who do not know, 关门弟子 literally means "closed door disciple/final disciple" and refers to the last disciple taken in by a given teacher, who is often highly favored and given special attention, ultimately becoming the teacher's successor; a lot of xianxia protagonists can fit into this role. In the EN TL, the term is translated as "favorite disciple" but it does have a more specific meaning in the genre).
Because LQG says just before that SQQ can still take other disciples, I don't think that Qing Jing Peak's gates are officially closed-- but that SQQ is just refferencing the trope because that is how he sees LBH.
In terms of the courtesy names, that is a bit of an oddity-- Luo Binghe is referred to as 首徒, which is the same term for head disciple used by those succeeding disciples of the Qing generation in the Qijiu extra, however, he is not referred to as 首席弟子 anywhere, which seems to be the more official title for a succeeding disciple. Perhaps here, 首徒 is a disciple given authority, where 首席弟子 is one who has been designated as successor, though both terms are translated as "head disciple," and they are used somewhat interchangeably.
So basically, LBH still had an official position-- it just seems more like he was given the authority role, rather than being designated as official successor-- it's likely that there's quite a long time before the ascension of the Qing generation and so they are not yet choosing successors. Generational names are only given to the successors, so LBH wouldn't have gotten one of those.
Of course, it's hard to say whether or not this is a common practice-- since there isn't anyone who mentions it being odd for SQQ to make LBH head disciple, my guess is that it is an accepted practice, but he is also the only Cang Qiong Mountain disciple we see to be referred to as 首徒 that is not also the named successor who has received a generational name.
This is the best explanation for it I can think of-- but anyone who has other thoughts feel free to add on!
(The post anon is referring to regarding Ming Fan's status is this one)

so when considering the matter about sj's crimes (again lol) there's still discussion going around about whether or not he abused/mistreated more than the one disciple whose name we get.
so let me point out some things first
sj is extremely competitive
he values his cultivation above every other thing. since his cultivation base was damaged due to qjl's abuse, he's become even more paranoid and protective of it and of his reputation
that is the reason he's so mad at lqg: he's mad at him because lqg bested him, and from then on sj will try to best him/"teach him a lesson" because sj needs to feel like he has power; he doesn't want to be powerless again
by the time lbh was already his disciple, sj had not yet achieved golden core stage. he was made a peak lord despite of that, because peak lords ascend together etc etc he was THE LAST to develop his golden core, and very late compared to his peers!
sj didn't even had a head disciple. ming fan was just his most senior, not his head disciple. in all his time as peak lord, up until sy's transmigration, sj never chooses a head disciple. why? because a head disciples is the future peak lord. do you really think that sj wants to think about someone else taking his position?
when sj poured tea on lbh, ming fan's didn't react to it in a way that would signal this was something new. it's almost as this isn't the first time that sj marks a disciple as undesirable so the rest of the disciples know sj is displeased by him.
qing jing peak was a very toxic environment previous to sy's transmigration, as noted by sqh.
yqy has a visible reaction to sj picking a disciple
sy himself comments on there being rumors about sj running other disciples off of the sect
and finally, the fact that out of all the assumptions that get disproved throughout the novels and the extras (how sj didn't kill lqg and didn't really want him dead even if he antagonized him constantly, how he wasn't actually lecherous, the whole truth about his time as a slave of qjl and later when he was with wyz) the ONLY thing that mxtx NEVER disproves in some way are the abuse and mistreatment allegations.
so the most likely conclusion is that yes, lbh wasn't the first disciple sj run off the peak, allowed to be bullied and mistreated.
i rest my case

I gotta say the callous attitudes of the Peaklord to go behind SQQ back to discuss his qi deviation and theorizing maybe Possession took place and when that became clear it was not they just did not continue to look further because they like the pretty outer shell of nice SQQ because then it would make them ask what make their shixiong so prickly and what his issues were that maybe it ran deep because how else is he so different otherwise?
No one thinks of: what if this SQQ wishes to remember? I read once in a fic, and I found it very just, a Lan Zhan amnesiac who says that even if it were painful experiences (33 lashes and 13 years of mourning) they were part of him, that they were dear to him even if painful.
I think that even if SJ hated to have lived what he lived, he did not want to forget he did not want to forget Qi-ge, his fiancée, the courtesans of the brothel, all the women who were nice to him,… or his life, who he is. And who he is with unpleasant experiences: rapes without doubt, abuse, a life without a parent, a feeling of abandonment, the fact that he never felt at home in Qing Jing, that he was not loved by his martial brothers and sisters, betrayal ... and also with things he did.
it's not something they have to decide. If SY were SJ it would be up to SY and SY alone to decide if "something must be done" and if He have to “stay that way.”
I also think that although the peak lords may be right to not appreciate SJ, they never tried to get along with him either. I always found LQG to be very contemptuous without knowing (like all peak lords)
Like it sucks cause they should have talked with him in person your memories what youve gone through as a person and when it comes to his trauma all the girls he put his head down for a nice nap, Qiu Hatiang, Yue Qingyuan "betrayal" all the shit that went down makes him who he is as Shen jiu. They don't talk to him and ask if he wants to look deeper into his memories like they disregard their martial brother who I get they dislike but it makes them scummier in my eyes because wtf they barley even tried ?
Like if it were any of the Peaklords take LQG for instance they would have tried their hardest to get his memories but because their SQQ is more presentable and make them feel more comfortble is disgusting cause they disregard his autonomy.
Who we are is made up of our memories and how our past experiences have led to the development of our beliefs, our coping mechanisms, our very personalities. Without his memories, is SJ even SJ anymore? They may prefer the blank slate, but it requires no self examination for them. They do not have to think deeper like you have about why SJ is who he is, what terrible past he has that makes the reader more forgiving and understanding of his faults. If they did think about that, they would have to do something, wouldn’t they?
Hell, If Yue Qingyuan and SJ were reversed are any of us going to be suprised at the lengths he'll try to go to get his Qi-ge' back as readers but YQ who cares for SJ but lack of a backbone in not trying to recover his memories and not trying is just... irksome. SJ being more all or nothing guy compared to YQ who basically just a water down version of MDSZ Lan Xichen who basically did nothing to his benefit really says something. He's not kind he's a diplomat a politician he's polite is what he is.
YQ character would be much more attractive to me if his indecisiveness just never existed lol. I hate mopy characters so damn much and with a postions as sect leader had he been more firm and not let his shidi do whatever 99% of the things that happened never would have occured. There's only so much you can blame on miscommunication when it actively hurted and harmed the other party. He saw what it did to his shidi and he just did nothing about it right up to his foolish sucide attempt to save his Xiao at the last minute when his legs got sent to him. Wonder wtf he was doing then filing paperwork lol?

In a shen twins au do you think sy is desperate to protect his brothers reputation so he doesn’t blacken further and give reasons for his imprisonment? Would sy get along with lqg as someone who could protect them against lbh or would be get pissed at this guy who keeps making his brother’s rep worse? Also sy vs sqh trying to steer the plot to stay alive lol
In a Shen twins AU, there's no reason why it can't be Shen Yuan that becomes the Qing Jing peak lord Shen Qingqiu instead of Shen Jiu.
Now, it's not that Shen Yuan was more ambitious or more talented than Shen Jiu. Pft, can you imagine Shen Yuan being that motivated to even pursue the spot of head disciple?!
Nah, instead Shen Yuan got the spotlight just through being Shen Jiu's identical twin. It's precisely Shen Jiu's talents (and hard work, but no one on Qing Jing calls it hard work since that implies any old commoner can be just as skilled as a noble-born child) that caught the eye of the old Qing Jing peak lord and yes, it was Shen Jiu that was the head disciple and the selected successor.
Shen Yuan panicked, okay?! He couldn't let his beloved twin become a human stick. Despite all of his twin's prickly faults, Shen Yuan loved the idiot cactus of a human. So... with his knowledge of PIDW, he might had initiated letters with the imperial palace, traded some of the protagonist's future treasures to earn a couple favors of high ranking eunuchs and then even the fucking emperor himself - surely the protagonist wouldn't be so stingy as to begrudge his biggest fan from helping himself to a couple items? - and that's how Shen Yuan won his brother a position as Grand Tutor (and unofficial advisor) to the Crown Prince.
Normally it was Huan Hua that held such strong ties to the imperial throne; most certainly it wasn't Cang Qiong. Thus, when the previous generation of Cang Qiong heard of all of Shen Yuan's hard efforts winning the sect such a opportunity, they were more than delighted to ship Shen Jiu off to be Grand Tutor instead. After all, there was a ready made replacement (cough Shen Yuan) for Qing Jing!
Was Shen Jiu pissed? Yes.
Did Shen Jiu feel betrayed by his twin? Yes, but only shortly because unlike Yue Qingyuan, Shen Yuan knows the importance of communicating. Well, not that Shen Yuan told the truth; instead, he told his Jiu-ge about how he thought that his very ambitious twin would appreciate the chance and influence to craft future bills and laws and maybe get the ball started on banning slavery... Shen Yuan wasn't ambitious or crafty enough to achieve such a thing, but he knew his twin had the skills!
At the end of the day, Shen Yuan is an excellent bootlicker and his bootlicking complimenting skills work on even Shen Jiu. And with Shen Jiu removed from Cang Qiong, Shen Jiu doesn't blacken further with the false promises of having a "family" of martial siblings in the form of fellow peak lords; Shen Jiu knows from the get go that the imperial government is full of vipers and the importance of reputation when it comes to influencing all the ambitious political ambitions that have awakened inside of him.
[Follow #a shen twins au where shen yuan becomes the qing jing peak lord and shen jiu becomes an imperial tutor to the crown prince for more]

I'm now imagining this conversation between Shang Qinghua and Liu Qingge where SQH sits him down and he's like "I know you normally give formal events a miss but I really need you to come to my wedding because, you see, there's this demon tradition where both sides of the family try to assassinate their relative's prospective spouse, but since all the demons there will be on Mobei-Jun's side..." And Liu Qingge is like "I understand. Obviously Mobei-Jun will feel insulted if no one attempts to assassinate him, so you need me to come and spend the entirety of the feast attempting to kill your future husband. If I succeed, one of the Peak Lords of Cang Qiong won't marry a literal demon. If I fail, at least my martial brother is happy and his husband's family is not slighted. Say no more, I understand my responsibility." And SQH is just like "..... Um. Actually."
asDFGHGS You know, I hadn't actually considered that, but you do raise a very good point. 🤣
In my version of the conversation-- or at least the one in my head (since I don't have it written out anywhere lmfao), I don't think SQH actually tells Liu Qingge about the assassination part at all? Partly because he assumes that Liu Qingge wouldn't actually be helpful and/or want to help.
Partly because it's much more fun (for Shang Qinghua) if Liu Qingge shows up unaware, because if LQG's already expecting folks to be violent... then where's the surprise when they start flirting with him? The permission to maim is worded more as an afterthought, ostensibly to entice and/or placate LQG into attending-- though SQH knows better~ :3
.......though, yeah, if it weren't for Liu Qingge's many suitors, he might've picked a fight with Mobei-Jun, too. Possibly. Yue Qingyuan warned him against it. Something-something about technically being allies, because MBJ's boss is Luo Binghe--who's still a Qing Jing disciple... while also being Shen Qingqiu's husband... and the Huan Hua Sect Leader... and, yes, a Demon Lord....
(their hierarchy is in shambles)
Anyway, Yue Qingyuan doesn't want trouble.
