Ah beans I just realized Cinder had her "You don't deserve to be called Greed" moment last episode. And in the OP Cinder clutching her Grimm arm like how Greed does when Ling starts speaking to him.
...yeah I'm starting to think the "some lives will end much too soon" lyrics in the OP is in reference to Cinder cutting Pyrrha's life short and her manifesting in Cinder's head.
Like I don't want to get my hopes up and just assume that's happening on the horizon, but Neath's tweet about something huge happening next episode that we should be super careful not to spoil for others just has my Pyre gears turning like crazy, because I really can't think of what else it could be. There isn't anyone else besides Ironwood that I can see being a significant death this volume, and I don't see that happening next episode. The only other huge thing I can think of is finding out what happened to Summer, but I also think we're going to hear about that from Salem to Ruby, and I don't think she's coming back until the finale, if she does at all.
Then again, there's always Raven. That seems like a good possibility too. But my Pyre loving heart is pounding and I cannot stop it so I'm just gonna be

So, people have pointed out that Cinder going off to Amity without her stepmother’s permission or knowledge, with two people who can change her appearance in tow, reads very much like Cinderella going off to the Ball.
The Ball where Cinderella meets her Prince. The person who can save her from the Wicked Stepmother.
But who’s at Amity? Pietro, Maria and Penny. Not really anyone we’ve had any real foreshadowing for having a connection to Cinder. Not really anyone who has reason to see good in Cinder.
So, narratively, why is Cinder going to Amity? What will she find there to further her story? When she gets there, she’ll find no hero but Penny, who she’ll naturally want to kill, but Penny has ongoing storylines, so she’s naturally not going to die.
But what will stop her? I doubt Maria and Pietro can. Emerald and Neo may be doubting, but they have no reason to turn on Cinder for the sake of Penny Polendina.
Here’s what I’m thinking: A 1v1 in Amity Arena. Against Penny Polendina. A fight to the death. Sounds familiar.
Who’s seen this before? Who regrets what happened last time? Who would want to fix their mistake, to save a life they’d been tricked into taking the last time?
I keep saying this Volume is paralleling Volume 4, but what happens in Volume 4?
A hero, previously thought dead, shows up inside a person’s head.
Cinderella, meet your Prince.
She says Hello Again.

Truth who is the hottest person in the room?
Name Randomizer: Cinder
Cinder: Obviously me.
Everyone else: Boooo....
Cinder: What? I’m being honest. I truly think I am the hottest person in this room.
Blake: Well, choose the second hottest, then.
Cinder: That’s not what the Truth asked for.
Everyone else: *general outrage*
Cinder: Alright, alright, fine! Objectively speaking, the hottest person in this room is Yang, and I don’t think anyone would disagree.
Everyone else: *general agreement*
Ruby: But what about Pyrrhaaaa~~
Pyrrha: ???
Cinder, blushing: You shut your stupid mouth....

What if Pyrrha and Amber were both partially connected to Cinder’s soul but it meant that they were both stuck floating around between realms and so the god bros came back because you can’t have people floating around between realms!! And they say that for some convoluted reason that to maintain the balance of life and death only one of them can pass through to the afterlife and the other must merge with the rest of their soul and consequently, whoever it’s attached too
So they work out pretty quickly that that would be cinder, and amber doesn’t really want to do it, Pyrrha is hesitant at first but then she realises that this could be an opportunity to help somebody. Pyrrha couldn’t stop cinder before but maybe doing so is her destiny and maybe she doesn’t have to kill cinder to stop her, she just needs to get inside her head.

Not only did Cinder try to kill Pyrrha in canon but she actually did, Cinder and Pyrrha are absolute opposites as people, and they have completely different ideals and morals, and yet....some of you people insist on shipping them....and guess what....it worked and now I ship them too?!
Everything us Cinder people do flies in the face of logic and irony, doesn’t it. We’re beyond help.
Anyway, Pyrrha x Cinder headcanon/AU: Cinder’s plan to become Fall Maiden would’ve gone perfectly...had not the tall red haired warrior goddess been a complete angel to her, offering to help her move in to their dorm at Beacon and offering to get her dinner just to be welcoming and nice. And completely against her personality, Cinder actually agrees, and they go to dinner, and somehow hit it off? And now Cinder is like “Holy shit...is this affection that I feel? Horrible.” And her interactions with Pyrrha range from flabbergasted amazement at Pyrrha being so nice despite Cinder being a literal flaming asshole, to absolute rage because Cinder has no clue how to handle feeling enamoured with the girl she’s supposed to hate. And Pyrrha is just over here like “She’s actually nicer than you think, and she’s really pretty!” like a fucking sunrise and Cinder is just pissed like how dare she say those things about her??

Incarnation
Pyrrha was destined to be the Fall Maiden - just not in the way she expected she would be.
Perhaps Cinder shouldn't have interrupted a delicate soul-transferring process after all.
I haven’t seen fics like this in ages but I knew they existed

Hiya, random question, do you have any v7 predictions?
>Jacques is Salem’s way into Atlas, as a mostly-unwitting pawn via Watts.
>Atlas Ball is actually happening, congratulations Bumbleby fandom you spoke it into existence
>Cinder will attend with a disguise from Neo—that will break at midnight an appropriately inconvenient time for her
>side note to the above: she’ll take the time to mess with Jaune
>further side note to the above: [gestures at your URL] we’re getting THAT reveal
>there will be a lot of stupid discourse in the FNDM dealing with the fact that Winter turns out to be a tragic antagonist despite us already knowing she’s a Schnee™.
>Salem’s flying monkey attack will at some point capture Ruby and deliver her to Evernight—I’m thinking likely at the end, leaving v8 to have her interactions with Salem, what Salem wants with her, and finally the payoff of Emerald and Mercury’s redemption arc. Of course this could also happen in v7, I’m not sure. Depends on how they want to pace things.
>Given how the flying monkey attack goes in Wizard of Oz, high probability that Ironwood and/or Qrow are killed in the process. That said, Qrow has defied every death prediction thus far.
>Again depending on how they want to pace things, but the Fall of Atlas will be less Salem’s forces conquering Atlas directly and more Atlas ending up as an even-worse military dictatorship ruled by Jadis the White Witch Winter—the Saruman to Salem’s Sauron.

What allusion fronts is the Pyre theory lining up on?
Given that you're asking this question, you've seen the Cinder/Greed post I reblogged so that's the FMA front.
Over in the Cinderella allusions, Cinder has just had he pretenses, the belief she can be powerful/go to the ball verbally ripped to shreds by Watts, the Ugly Stepsibling. The true Fairy Godmother appears to Cinderella after this point, when she goes to cry in the garden, to show her the way to get what she actually wants.
Circling around to the Narnia allusions, the Stone Table has been broken, and when the Stone Table breaks "death itself shall works backwards". Aslan went to his death in full knowledge it was coming, but knowing it was something he needed to do, and when the Stone Table broke, he returned to life.
Finally, since Volume 5 RWBY has been alluding to... itself. Volume 5 had a ton of parallels to Volume 1, and this has held true. Volume 6 was especially blatant with being Volume 2 in reverse (Grimm Fight - Train Crash - Abandoned Settlement With Grimm Underground - Moment of Levity - Jaune having a private talk with a redhead about Pyrrha - Fight with a Giant Robot). Volume 8 has been paralleling Volume 4, in a loose reverse order.
Our heroes have been separated, we've had fights with unique Grimm with ties to loss of heroes' parent, a hero has returned home to recover and bond with their family, a hero has been injured and had to be carried to safety where they can recover, I've previously pointed out how Watt's speech was an evil version of Tai's advice to Yang, Ruby has had a monologue in the form of a message of hope, villain replaces previously lost hand with black prostethic, so much pining from our established couples...
There's a lot.
Anyway, the allusion is lining up to Pyre here from two directions. Because two things happen near in the beginning of Volume 4 (and thus their equivalent would happen near the end of Volume 8):
Someone hears Pyrrha's voice in their head
A dead hero turns out to be alive, but inside someone's head
So like I said, multiple allusion fronts seem to be lining up. I expected something on the Pyre front this Volume just from the Volume 4 allusions, but with the multiple allusions lining up right now, and Neath throwing fuel on the fire with his "momentous event" comment, I think it might be happening tomorrow.
Tomorrow, we might be saying "Hello Again" to Pyrrha Nikos.

Y’know this probably seems like a major crack theory but the only person I can imagine getting the fall maiden powers if cinder died is Gretchen. If she turned out to be still alive somehow (??) she’s the only character I can think of who would get it, because it would be the only real option that has meaning, that has a connection to the relic. That connection is choice.
Other people who have strong connections to choice are
Raven - already a maiden
Yang - would more likely get the spring maiden powers
Pyrrha - this ship has sailed
Oscar- is a boy
Qrow - he is neither a woman or young
Cinder probably has a second connection aside from being the current maiden but like I just said- she’s already the maiden
And maybe ruby? But I can’t see it happening because she already has a powerful ability that she’s learning to use, I just don’t think it would flow narratively
Aside from that the only other person I can think of is Gretchen, and that’s running on the assumption that she would still be young enough, which honestly I’m not sure if she would be

ask-pyrrhacinder replied to your post “i love how the concept that ‘our weapons are an extension of...”
This is good and I love the symbolism of weapon sharing but everybody forgets that Raven and Cinder used each other’s weapons fbdjd
ask-pyrrhacinder replied to your post “i love how the concept that ‘our weapons are an extension of...”
My theory on the meaning behind that is that raven and cinder are repeatedly shown to parallel each other, and that is the symbolism of them swapping weapons
i did forget that djghdhf and i can definitely see them doing it to further show how paralleled they are. also, it looks cool. they have the same power, so exchanging weapons they created mid-fight would actually work out seamlessly in a way that wouldn’t if the fight was between either one of them and someone who wasn’t a maiden.

I’m a big fan of the PyrrhaCinder theory and it’s all very serious stuff but consider: Pyrrha singing songs to annoy Cinder
