Hello, I am a trans woman who has been laid off from my job. While I'm reorienting into job searching and unemployment assistance, I could really really use help covering my rent/expenses for another month. If you can help out, I can't thank you enough, and you can use either of these links:

the most annoying people are people who don't understand storytelling. they be like "oooo how convenient that this thing happened to the main character in the very beginning". yeah no shit. that's why the story begins here

welcome to the Murdersex zine, a zine celebrating all things sex and murder. but um. we don't want to romanticize it or anything so don't make your submissions too murdersexy. we will do extensive background checks on all applicants and if we decide a past work of yours has too much sexy murder we'll have to remove you, sorry. we have limits, you know, we want a tasteful gory spread you could put on your coffee table, and having the Wrong people in it would kill the vibe (and we condemn all killing! wholeheartedly!)

if your content involves cavalier/necromancer relations, the following requirements MUST be met:
all participants must be in a formalized necromancer/cavalier pair
a scene must be included PRIOR to Lyctoral Ascension, in which all participants affirm they have an absence of libidinous desires towards the other
a scene must be included DURING Lyctoral Ascension, in which there is a verbal check-in between the participants and a statement of duty is enthusiastically given
a scene must be included AFTER Lyctoral Ascension, in which the Vow is provided to the participant who was in the cavalier role
this is non-negotiable. if you have any questions please ask God for clarification

Listen my "imprinted on ASOIAF at a formative age" self was always going to zero in on the de Rolo siblings once I finally peeked into Critical Role because they're so incredibly Starkling-coded (Cassandra in particular being so "what if Arya was Sansa" about it which is ironic given Percy literally does the Arya Stark Murder List thing) but on top of that it really also is just like—
—I'M BACK IN THE FUCKING BUILDING AGAIN why do all roads lead to ADWD Theon Greyjoy Winterfell plotline for me. "ADWD Theonisms but make it girl" is basically everything I've wanted in a character since I was 15 SHE'S EVEN GOT THE JONATHAN HARKER HAIR THING GOING ON—
Anyway "what if Arya was Sansa was Theon" is truly the most cursed possible question to ask you bet your ass I'm gonna be unpacking it in fic. (AND FRANKLY THEY ALREADY PUSHED IT FARTHER THAN I WOULD HAVE BEEN WILLING TO IF I'D BEEN STARTING FROM SCRATCH because Delilah could eat both Cersei and Ramsay for breakfast.)
#“why did you imprint so hard on adwd theon” identity play horror it's the identity play horror. it's because i'm trans.#and on that note WOW does laying that particular quote on top of Delilah & Cass's “TERF mom GNC daughter” thing ever hit hard in the Gender#Gender Level 9000 going on there#critical role#tlovm#vox machina#cassandra de rolo#delilah briarwood

me: truly a well crafted tragedy is such a bittersweet pleasure to take in and serves a purpose, not just as a sad story but as a reminder that even that which ends badly might not have happened in vain or for nothing. The love, the grief, the actions still meant something simply for having taken place and for us partaking in it.
me when said tragedy is about to actually unfold, sweating: ok but consider this. i dont want this to happen

The ironic thing is I haven't seen anything from C3 and yet now I'm obsessed with Laudna because I read What Doesn't Break and now it's like my favorite media tie-in book I've ever read. I wasn't prepared for the text to actually go in on doing gothic horror with Laudna and Delilah but of course it does how else could you POSSIBLY do a book on the Laudna & Delilah relationship and not actually go full gothic horror themes with it.

truly some people have no genre savviness whatsoever. A girl came back from the dead the other day and fresh out of the grave she laughed and laughed and lay down on the grass nearby to watch the sky, dirt still under her nails. I asked her if she’s sad about anything and she asked me why she should be. I asked her if she’s perhaps worried she’s a shadow of who she used to be and she said that if she is a shadow she is a joyous one, and anyway whoever she was she is her, now, and that’s enough. I inquired about revenge, about unfinished business, about what had filled her with the incessant need to claw her way out from beneath but she just said she’s here to live. I told her about ghosts, about zombies, tried to explain to her how her options lie between horror and tragedy but she just said if those are the stories meant for her then she’ll make another one. I said “isn’t it terribly lonely how in your triumph over death nobody was here to greet you?” and she just looked at me funny and said “what do you mean? The whole world was here, waiting”. Some people, I tell you.

There's so many examples throughout the book of uncomfortably intertwining maternal and erotic overtones in very gothic fashion but literally right off the bat the first thing the book says is hey before we jump into Matilda's murder by Delilah alongside her parents at the Sun Tree murder dinner, here is a metaphorical fairy tale about Delilah and Laudna's relationship in which the concept of a noblewoman adopting a farm girl as her daughter is directly compared to paying a dowry for her. Like it just says it outright!
#critical role#laudna#delilah briarwood#SO MUCH I COULD SAY ABOUT EVERYTHING GOING ON IN THIS DYNAMIC#I get it now jo's been telling me for years how scary delilah briarwood is and I've been like oh that sounds nice#and now I GET it now I'm scared of her. like SCARED scared of her.
