not me thinking abt writing fanfic for fae farm......
#libra.txt#fortunately i am not the only one out there#just checked ao3 and there are. 11 fics in the fandom#unfortunately i think i am the only one who knows argyle's nb.#anyway just me having fun bc you can technically date all the romance-able characters at once#(you can only marry one though)#and so sometimes i just like daydreaming abt my character (leaf) and their polycule........#bc it's also just fun imagining them interacting with each other!#we're not given a whole lot for any of the characters#but argyle and jack are implied to be friends (they often sit together at the inn and argyle talks about jack on one of your dates)#but like..... the possibilities......#pyria&rita would be a GREAT friendship!!!!!#pepper/jack (teehee) would be fun and sweet!!!! they both have anxiety disorders but jack could show her around spooky woods#and she could teach him foraging tricks!#also pepper&nessa. since pepper has some pretty rough anxiety and paranoia#nessa stays calm and level headed. the dog to pepper's cheetah#and pyria&argyle! or nhamashal&galan!#galan studied in sagnow and nhamashal loves talking abt the schools and clubs in mercitania! they could share stories!#i really do like galan. they're sweet#also the only one who actually shows any interest in farming#i mean jack kiiinda does i guess. but he comes from a logging family so it's different? idk#but also pepper/nhamashal sounds SO FUN. to me#he's kind of snooty and has 'refined taste' i think it says#and while pepper is very outdoorsy she ALSO has a taste for good quality food#he'd be like 'ew dirt how can you stand to be like this' and she'd be like 'well just wait until you try my cooking'#and he would be forever changed <3#also this is purely headcanon but i think pyria and nhamashal would Not get along#until they find out the other has some of the same hobbies (you can find either of them painting in different places around town)#and pyria would find herself begrudgingly appreciating his poetry#also nhamashal&argyle is very endearing to me

Danger
I wake to chatter from outside. Getting up, I walk out and drum my hand on the door and crack it open.
"Pyria! It's about 7 o'clock, you might want to get up." She starts to wake up and mutter an ‘alright’, so I leave her, leaving the carved wood slightly open.
The house is eerily quiet, I brush it off. Looking outside the magpies are about, it's not spring so we're fine, there are other bird calls out there, like the willy-wagtails, it's how it always is.
Those people outside were still loud, what were they doing? It's better not to look or ask.
"You alright Ryllae?" My sister asks, bringing me out of my daze.
"Y-yeah nah, I'm fine, just thinking," I reply, started by her sudden appearance next to me. I start making our lunch for later.
"Looks like rain, we should stay inside today," Pyria remarks, glancing outside.
"What abou-"
"Oh, it's fine, I'll call and say we can't go." She walks off leaving me by myself.
I brush it off, better not to continue this conversation. Through the windows, I could see shadows of people, and the banksia trees do screw my sight up. I should continue lunch, even if we don't go outside today.
"Yep.... y-yes will do. Thanks, I'll see you tomorrow... everything is fine." I could hear parts of her call. I shouldn't interfere or listen in; I've learned from my mistakes before.
"If we're not going out, I'll go and do the work I need to do in my room!" I holler out to her, she's finished her call so it's fine, I think. I walk up before she can say anything else.
The chatter can still be heard.
I should go check it out, maybe see what's going on, maybe a festival is on, or a rally, a march perhaps. I shouldn't though, I need this work done. I sit at my desk, staring at the craft tools laid out on the workbench.
I look up, it's been hours, maybe three or four, those people can still be heard, and the birds are quiet now. I get up from my desk, I can't hear Pyria, I doubt she would have left, she said we weren't going out, perhaps we don't have bread or milk, though I swear we had enough this morning.
I look at the old clock hanged on the dark wooden wall, it’s been about three or four hours since I sat down. The house is quiet, thought Pyria would be carving, or making some noise at least. The birds who were loud, are silent.
I need to walk; I want fresh air. It couldn't hurt to go outside, maybe the backyard will be fine, I should still check with my sister though.
Circling the house, she is nowhere, with no noise or any indication she is there. It’s too quiet.
Stopping by the front it's so empty, it's only me and Pyria so why did I think there was more? Outside is a mess of trees, bushes, and weeds, all overgrown. Someone has deal with this it’s out of control, maybe Pyria or I should send something to the council about it.
There's still no sign of her. Stepping quietly through the house we share, as if there would be someone inside, the mirrors are dusty, the whole house is, it feels like it's been abandoned.
I step outside, the backyard a mess, a desolate place that shows no care put into the placement of the plants and trees, them both being overgrown, moss growing on the once intricately designed stone paths. It won't matter if I chose to neaten this up, I'm supposed to stay inside, the clouds on the other hand, show no sign of rain and I can clearly see the sky, it’s clear just like the ocean.
Chirp, chirp.... Chirp, chirp...
Those sounds continued kind-of like a bird, and they got closer. I could go back inside. I turn around seeing those beady eyes staring, making those chirps, and other small noises.
The weird thing is, it looks elvish, has it tricked people, does it think it can trick me, and maybe it has?
I walk closer, no longer thinking, although I'm not walking, it's pulling me. I look down at my abdomen, vines and roots entangled themselves around me.
"Oh... No, you c-can't le-eave." It chokes out, I didn't dare to look into its eyes as I tried to rip those vines from me, "You already left, y-you can undo this... mistake." Its voice barely made any incoherent sentences, it could atleast choke out the last word, 'Mistake'.
Chirp, cracking followed, as it tries to move closer, as is gets closer.
I try moving backwards, just to keep my eyes on it but failing those roots from before tripping me, I bring my head up to look at this thing in its eyes.
It's already staring, I look behind there's more behind, why wouldn’t I move?
Those eyes, the hair coloured like the fire burnt trees and their pointed ears, maybe it was my imagination. I don’t think it would be, but I can’t take any chances.
"Pyria..."

Mirkwood was silent, eerily silent and cold no fires were burning and the candles were all almost burnt out, the fog from the bottom of the waterfall slowly rose up drowning anything on the ground in its path.
Standing at the gate Pyria's eyes peered into the forest as she watched for the return of the night patrol, the night was silent as her home, the sky was dark and starless, no moon shone tonight filling her heart with even more sadness, listening to the sounds of the forest Pyria could hear the trickling of the stream, the branches moving in the wind, raising her eyes to the nearest tree she watched as an Owl left its den and stretched its wings before flying down to the mouth of the river on its hunt for food.
The soft footsteps approaching her turned her eyes back to the opening of the forest as she saw the night patrol returning, losing the grip off her bow, she placed her hand over her heart as the standard greeting, holding a small smile Pyria watched the patrol returning the greeting as the passed her and entered Mirkwood while she counted them silently making sure all had returned Pyria had her orders to seal the gate shut, no one could leave and no one could enter without the King's permission and in his state she was sure this would last for years to come.
....
Walking down the dim-lit hallway Pyria mind raced back to a time where these halls echoed with laughter from newlywed young couples to children, the candles always burned brightly and everyone was in a good mood.
But that all changed the young couples left, the children grew and left, Mirkwood slowly emptied some traveled to join their kin in Rivendell and Lothlórien, some even boarded a boat and sailed to the undying lands, all out of grief for the loss of their beloved Queen and the fear of the now unstable and drunk King.
Pyria was born and raised in Mirkwood it was the only home she had ever known, and her best friend just happened to be Thranduil, Pyria had fought at the side of her parents in the Great War and lost them to it, her people also lost their king that day leaving a young and scared Thranduil to deal with his new kingdom, she slowly made her way through the ranks and now she was captain of the guard, and the kings most trusted friend.
Pyria and Thranduil had shared nearly everything together and when he found his wife she couldn’t have been happier, and when Legolas came Thranduil declared Pyria as his aunt, which we filled her with joy “Aunt Pyria” a soft-voiced pulled her from her memories as she turned and saw Legolas returning from the training ground.
“Yes my little leaf” Pyria answered with a small smile.
“I'm taller then you” Legolas laughed before speaking again "Why has my father ordered the gates to be shut?"
"Because he is king and he can do what he likes" Pyria answered.
"Aunt Pyria, please just tell the truth I am not a child anymore, I hear his screams in the dead of night" Legolas pleaded.
Looking to the ground Pyria thought to herself before turning her eyes back to him "Legolas it is the anniversary of your Mothers death, your Father fears the nights where he dreams of her" she whispered.
Lowing his head Legolas nodded "of course" he said before placing his hand over his heart and walking down the hallway, making Pyria wish she didn't tell him, after seeing the pain in his eyes, turning to call out to him she was about to say something when another set of footsteps alerted her attention behind her. Footsteps echoed through the dark empty halls as the healer carried the tray, "Captain Pyria its time" the healer said as she walked towards her, nodding her head they both turned and walked towards the king's chambers.
Knocking on the door Pyria called out to Thranduil, as she opened it and walked in with the healer behind her, the room was dark and cold, looking to the fireplace Pyria could see it had not been lit tonight turning to the healer "my king?" Pyria called out.
"Captain Pyria, healer" Thranduil's horsed voice answered. Pyria saw the figure of the King sitting on the edge of his bed as she made her way over to him, she lowered herself to her knees and saw his eyes were puffed and red, wetting her lips she pointed towards the healer "my lord, we have something to help you sleep."
Watching Thranduil look towards the healer with the glass of sleeping potion on the tray, he turned back to Pyria and wet his lips "will it make me dream?" Thranduil asked.
Shaking her head Pyria rose to her feet and collected the glass "no it won't" she said as she handed it to Thranduil and watched as he drank from it and handed it back to her before climbing into his bed.
"Can you stay for a while?" Thranduil asked looking at her, the answer was written in her eyes with a nod Pyria pulled a chair closer to the bed as she dismissed the healer, hearing the door closed she turned her attention back to the king who was muttering "it was meant to be forever" Pyria knew she would watch over until morning came or sleep took him.

Many years ago......
Brona pulled himself up from the floor of the cave, his mind cloudy from striking the back of his head when he was thrown to the ground. He hadn’t expected that level of fight from the Druid. His sleeves were tattered and burns raced up and down his arms. He gritted his teeth together in annoyance. He was weak from his use of magic, and injured.
Looking around the partially collapsed cave, his eyes rested on the Druid... or what was left of him. The Druid lay face down, buried under rocks from the waist down due to the cave-in, with blood pooling in the dirt beneath his face. Brona carefully approached the prone man, noting the way his arm was stretched out in front of him still clinging to the Druid sword.
Watching him closely, he couldn't tell if the Druid drew breath or not. Yet, there was no harm in making sure the man was dead. He smirked as he reached down and pulled the sword from his hand. “I feel like decapitation with your own sword is the best way to make sure you never pull yourself out of this grave.” The sword seemed to sense the change in owners and folded in on itself, leaving him simply holding a hilt. He glared down at the sword, annoyance building. “I hate Druids.”
“Allanon!”
Brona froze at the sound of the voice at the entrance of the cave. Someone had followed him here, and if there was one there could be more. He was too weak at the moment to be able to use magic to defend himself, and he could barely move his arms without pain. He glanced back at the Druid. “You’re dead away.” He hissed, tossing the sword hilt back on the ground, it was useless to him anyway. He turned and pulled his hood low, moving quickly to the entrance of the cave.
A female elf was stepping into the cave. She gasped at the sight of him, and he threw his shoulder into her, knocking her up against the wall of the cave. He moved quickly out into the bright sunlight and made his way into the trees. Something was wrong. He wasn’t sure what it was, but he could sense that something had changed.
                                         --------------------------------
Pyria rubbed her forehead where it had struck the side of the cave wall. She didn’t know the man that had pushed her and she couldn’t see his face, but she was certain it was the same man that had entered the cave before her. She’d seen the burns covering his arms up to his shoulders and hoped that Allanon had given those to him.
She shook her head, trying to clear it. She wasn’t sure how long she’d been unconscious, but she’d woken up just outside the cave. The explosion must have tossed her clear of it. She brushed a strand of hair back behind her ear, the force of the wind had freed it from the tight braid she usually kept it in. She looked around the cave and spotted the cracked Druid table. “Allanon?” Her voice echoed in the stillness.
She moved forward cautiously and stumbled over a pile of clothes laying on the floor. She glanced back at them and could just make out the dark stains of blood that covered the rags. She turned away from the sight, wondering if the clothes belonged to Allanon at one point and what had happened to him. She moved past the broken table and froze, seeing Allanon lying motionless on the floor. There was so much blood around him, was it possible that he was alive.
“Allanon!” Her voice broke with worry as she dropped to her knees beside him. She reached out with a trembling hand and carefully rested it on his shoulder. “Allanon?” He didn’t respond and she was starting to fear the worst. “Please don’t be dead.” She whispered, pressing her fingers against his neck. She could just make out a faint heartbeat.  A wave of relief washed over her, where there was life, there was hope.
Pyria closed her eyes for a moment trying to push out the panic. She needed to remember everything she’d learned through the years. If she stayed calm she could help him. Opening her eyes again, she looked back down at the man in front of her. Her eyes tracked over the familiar runes that marked the back of his head and neck, surprised to see that they continued over his muscle toned shoulders to his back. She admired the way they continued all the way down his spine. It would have been almost beautiful to see if his skin wasn’t covered in burns.
She frowned at the rocks that covered him from his mid lower back, down. She needed to get him unburied before she could do anything else. She found herself wondering if he was wearing any clothes considering the fact that what she could see of him was bare. She felt a blush rush up to her cheeks and mentally scolded herself. This wasn’t the time to be thinking this way.
“I’ll be right back.” Pyria assured him, getting back to her feet. She ran out of the cave, wincing as the bright light of the sun blinded her for a moment. “Eventine!” She called out for her brother. “I need help, the cave fell in on Allanon.” Her words seemed to melt into the stillness around her, but no one responded.
Her eyes adjusted to the light and she looked around at her surroundings. There was a healthy growth of trees that she didn’t remember being here before. She moved toward the path she’d rode up and looked down into the small valley between the cave and hill where her brother had been. “Eventine!” She called again, her eyes scanned the ridge, but he wasn’t there. She couldn’t even see any of the soldiers. “Hello! I need help!” She called out, but no one responded.
She felt the fear than she’d been attempting to choke down bubbling up inside her. Where was everyone? She looked around at the valley that had led out into the desert, but it just ran into more forest lands. “Where am I?” She muttered to herself in confusion. It was the same, but completely different.
She turned back toward the cave and quickly made her way back inside. This had to be some sort of magic that she didn’t understand. She was afraid for her brother and the men they’d ridden out with. What if the cloaked man had killed them all? She tried to push that thought from her mind. She could only deal with what was in front of her right now, and that was saving Allanon without any help.
“I’m here. I’m here.” She knelt down next to Allanon, her eyes drifting back to the blood soaked ground around his face. She wanted so badly to roll him over to see how bad the injury was, but right now that was impossible. Part of her wondered what was left of the man she knew at Arborlon, but she knew she couldn’t think that.
She started removing the small rocks, slowly unburying him. She had been slightly wrong, he wasn’t naked, but she could hardly consider him clothed either. She felt a bit flustered as she continued to work. “Why did you have to be practically naked as well as hurt?” She scolded him. She worked tirelessly until she reached the final piece. It was a large, jagged piece of stone that lay over his legs. She grabbed the edge of the stone and pulled, but it didn’t budge. She quickly braced her foot against the wall and pulled again.
The stone cut into her fingers and she let go with a muffled cry of pain. She hugged her hands against her sides and looked back at the rock. She felt a sinking feeling of dread. She wouldn’t be able to move this by herself. She looked down at her hands and noted the cuts in her fingers. “I have to get you out from under there.” She nodded to herself. “I will get you free.”
Pyria circled around trying to reason out what she could do. Perhaps if she could just slide him free. She brushed the hair back out of her face and felt her hands trembling. She knew she was on the verge of tears or panic, maybe both, but she had to focus. If she wasn’t strong now, Allanon would surely die.
She leaned down and hooked her arms underneath his and pulled. She had been worried that he’d be heavy, but now she realized she hadn’t been worried enough. He was much heavier than she’d hoped he would be, and the limp, dead weight wasn’t helping. “Come on.” She tossed her head back and pulled again. He slipped forward a small bit, but was still caught in the rocks.
“Please.” She pleaded to no one. “Please.” She pulled with all her might and Allanon slipped free of the rocks. She stumbled back and fell against the cave wall. Her arms ached from the struggle, but she’d succeeded. The effort might have left her exhausted, but her work wasn’t done.
She got back to her feet and looked down at his leg, the sight of blood catching her attention. His left thigh was heavily bleeding from a large gash. She moved closer to his leg to further inspect the wound. The gash was deeper than it appeared at first and it almost looked like it reached the bone. She could feel her heart pounding and her hands trembling from more than fatigue. What if she had caused this damage to him when she pulled him free? Certainly she couldn't have left him there, but perhaps she should have found a better way to free him. She knew that blaming herself for his injuries wouldn't help, so she tried not to think about it.
Knowing that she needed to stop the bleeding as soon as possible, Pyria looked around the cave for something to constrict the blood flow.  Spotting the pile of clothes she tripped over earlier, she found a piece of what was once a leather belt. She wrapped the belt around his leg just above the wound, but it wasn't the quick solution she'd hoped. It was awkward, as the belt had been cut. She struggled to tie the stiff leather belt as tightly as she could above the wound, and prayed that it would hold. She needed to first assess his head wound.
She dropped back to her knees and gently rolled the man over, carefully cradling his head in her arms. She could only see half of his face, as blood covered the entire right side from a deep gash that ran over his forehead and down by the corner of his eye. She couldn’t tell if the eye itself was harmed. From what she could see, he looked exactly like the man she’d helped in the library. She’d read that Druids didn’t age when they slept, but seeing it was something else.
She looked down over his body, noticing a jagged cut in his shoulder that already looked like it was festering, noting that the burns she saw before spread down his right side completely. The tiny scrap of fabric he wore had burned off at the edges and was barely covering him now, and where he was burned, it appeared to have melded with his skin from the heat. She bit her lower lip as she continued further down to his legs, both were burned, the right more than the left. She needed to stop the bleeding. She slipped off her shoulder cloak and carefully tucked it under his head to serve as a pillow.
She covered her mouth with her hand, feeling the urge to be sick. She turned away from Allanon choking back a sob. She’d never seen someone so injured before, but she couldn’t have gotten this far just to let him die in her arms.
Pyria wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and took a deep breath. “Clean the wound.” She said out loud, attempting to keep herself from completely breaking down. She recalled the pack that she had on her horse and made her way out of the cave, hoping that perhaps it would be outside. She looked around and spotted her sword lying in the dirt. She picked it up and looked about until she found the pack. Thankfully it had gotten thrown off when her horse bolted, and it was snagged on a bush just at the outside of the cave.
At least that was some luck. She snatched the sword and the pack, making her way back into the cave. She placed the pack on top of the cracked stone table and opened it up, fishing out a flask of water. She poured it over her hands, cleaning them as best as possible. She need to do everything in her power to ensure that none of the wounds became infected. She pulled out a clean towel and turned back to Allanon, taking a deep breath.
“One at a time.” She knelt down beside him and gently poured the water over his face. She bit down hard on her lip at the sight of the wounds. He would need stitches here as well, but it was almost more disturbing that he didn’t even react to the feeling of the cold water running over his face.
She carefully settled the towel over his face letting it absorb the blood and slow the bleeding, relieved that his eye wasn’t damaged. She applied the same technique to his shoulder. It cleaned out normally, but the edges of the skin around the wound were blackish in color as if the blade had been poisoned. She could only pray it hadn’t been. She carefully moved down his body, washing the dirt and dust out his injuries. As she cleared the grime from his side she paused noting the dark purplish swelling on his ribs. It was very possible that he’d broken his ribs. She quickly leaned over him, her ear held just about his mouth. His breathing was shallow, but it was normal. She sighed in relief, at least his lungs hadn’t been punctured.
Once the dirt was freed from the wounds, she returned to the pack and fetched more rags along with her needle and thread. No one could say that she wasn’t prepared, she just wished she didn’t need any of this. She set down her things and worked on starting a small fire, all the while stealing glances at the man beside her. She wanted him to just open his eyes. If he could wake up, then maybe he could tell her how to help him. It was clear these burns weren’t from fire, and she didn’t know anything about treating magic inflicted injuries.
Once the small fire was crackling, she held the needle as close as she could without burning herself. She waited until it was almost too hot to hold and pulled it back. The metal should be sterile. “I’m sorry.” She apologized in advance as she slowly started stitching together the wound on his forehead. She knew the skin would be very sensitive in this area, but Allanon didn’t even flinch.
Pyria knew that this would be easier if he wasn’t flinching, but it disturbed her that he was so still. She began to worry that he might never open those soft brown eyes again. She felt tears rushing into her own eyes and blinked them back furiously. She couldn’t think that way. She cut off the end of the thread and carefully bandaged his forehead.
She reached his shoulder and started stitching up the sword wound. The skin around the edges seemed to pull and break as if it was rotting. She fought off the urge to just quit, sitting back on her heels, she took a deep breath. If she couldn’t stitch it, she could at least bandage it. She bandaged his shoulder fearing the worst for the injury and then sterilized the needle again.
She moved down to his side and carefully ran her hands over his ribs. She closed her eyes as she carefully pressed her hands gently against his side. Again she knew that she should be relieved he was unconscious and couldn't feel her pressing against the dark bruise. She carefully worked her hands around until she’d managed to determine that the ribs weren't broken. She released a sigh of relief, at least broken bones was something she wouldn't have to worry about.
She finished with his ribs and looked back at the one place she hadn’t addressed yet. The cloth that just barely covered Allanon would have to be removed. It was bonded to the skin and if pieces of it lodged there it would lead to infection. She found herself staring at a patch of black hair that led under the fabric, rubbing her forehead. “You have to do what you have to do.”
She reached for the edge of the fabric and hesitated. It felt wrong, like violating his privacy, but surely it would be okay if she could treat the burn that ran over his hip. She couldn’t deny that when she was a much younger girl she had imagined what he might look like under his heavy robes, but now that thought was making it impossible to do her job.
Pyria took another long breath and gently grabbed the edge of the fabric. She slowly started pulling it to the side. It pulled at his skin, breaking it open just inside his hip. The burn didn’t go too much further in, but she couldn’t risk the fabric touching his skin again. “I’m sorry again.” She glanced up at Allanon, but he remained completely still. Oddly enough with all the blood washed from his face he almost looked peaceful.
She picked up her knife and cut the rest of the fabric free. She carefully removed it, chancing a quick look over him. She shook her head and quickly began washing and bandaging the now bleeding wound on the inside of his hip. Her younger self would not have been disappointed.
She got back to her feet and looked around the cave hoping to find something she could lay out on the ground. She needed to roll him over to clean the burns on his back and the cut on his leg, but she couldn’t just roll him into the dirt. She caught sight of another dust covered pack in the corner and curiously opened it. She found spare Druid robes and to her delight there were several large cloaks packed inside.
She lay one out next to him on the ground, and then struggled to roll him over onto it. She took a moment to catch her breath and then began the cleaning process all over again.
His burns were far more severe on his back. A simple rub from the cloth peeled off the skin as she moved. She tried to be as gentle as possible as she moved down his back. She reached the remaining fabric that still clung to him and hooked her fingers under the base of the fabric and slowly started peeling it off of him. She winced as more skin tore off with it.
She couldn’t help but smile a little bit just looking at the shape of the man in front of her. He was truly formed better than most men she knew. She’d always suspected that he had a rather nice backside, but clearly she’d underestimated just how nice. “Don’t get distracted, I’m not looking, and I’ve grown out of these feelings.” She said the words, but she wasn’t sure how honest she was being with herself.
She moved down to his leg and looked over the wound. Now that it was clean she could see the extent of the damage. She quickly poured some more water over it to flush out the gash a bit more. She winced as she could just make out the off white of bone at the center of the cut. The urge to be sick came upon her again, but she couldn’t give up now. She set to work with her needle slowly pulling the skin back together as well as she could, but with a wound this big, any movement could easily pull the stitches apart. Once she completed wrapping up his thigh, she carefully untied the belt.
She finished bathing him from head to foot, just barely having enough water to cover all of him. Once she had finished with that she considered her next move. She needed to make him comfortable for the night, but moving him to his back wouldn't be a good idea with all the raw damaged skin. Her eyes flitted over his body and rested on his left side. The bruises would be painful to rest on, but they wouldn't cause further damage. She moved around behind him and slowly rolled him to his left side, carefully adjusting his top leg so it wasn't resting on the injured thigh below it. It was the best she could do for now to make sure he wasn't in too much pain. She unfolded the second cloak and covered him up with it. She made sure to tuck her small cloak firmly beneath his head so he had somewhat of a make shift pillow.
“There, the worst is done.” Pyria rested her hand on the top of his head. “I need you to wake up for me, Allanon, do you understand?” She waited, but in her heart she knew there would be no response. She didn’t know what she’d really expected. She looked toward the entrance of the cave and saw that the sun was setting, leaving a shadowed land in its wake. Earlier she’d hoped that her brother would appear, and his men would rush in to help her, now she was certain she was alone. She hugged her knees up to her chest as she watched Allanon sleep. She couldn’t help but worry that the damage she could see was only superficial and that beneath the skin was damage she couldn’t yet see. She rested her chin on her knees feeling weak, tired, and most of all completely alone.
“Is this how you felt, Allanon?” Pyria asked him breaking the cold silence of the cave. “I looked in your eyes and I saw it. The loneliness. You tried to hide it from me.” She recalled the day that he’d left Arborlon with barely a goodbye. She’d been so angry when he hadn’t returned. To some extent she still was. He hadn’t told her what would happen to him once they’d found the spell, but he’d known all along that he wouldn’t return. It had bothered her that he didn’t tell her. She knew that he viewed her as curious young child back then, but she’d always imagined they had some sort of connection. Still, he didn’t feel like she had the right to know that he was leaving the castle to use a spell that could destroy him.
She looked back at the stone table and imagined him alone and hurt after he cast the protection spell. She wondered if he regretted it, or if he was happy to return to a Druid sleep. She found herself wondering if he thought of her before he closed his eyes. The thought made her angry at herself. Of course he hadn’t. If the blood soaked clothes she’d tripped over belonged to him, he probably wasn’t thinking of anything or anyone. Her eyes were heavy and the small fire had simmered down into coals. She lay down next to it watching Allanon’s chest rise and fall in a steady rhythm. She knew that she should stay awake in case he woke up, but her eyes fluttered shut all the same.
                                        --------------------------------
Brona stumbled through the undergrowth of the forest. He’d been looking for his horse, but now he was just attempting to find something familiar. His arms were aching from the tips of his fingers to his shoulders and he wanted nothing more than to retreat to a safe distance.
He’d only bumped into one elf, but they seldom traveled alone and he couldn’t risk engaging in battle in his current state. He froze as he caught sight of a fire up ahead. He watched the light dancing through the trees and cautiously moved forward. The sun was sinking lower in the sky and he was curious as to who he’d stumbled across. Was it the rest of the elves?
Brona moved closer and heard strange sounds that sounded like someone talking only it was garbled and strange. His eyes rested on pitched tents that didn’t look like anything he’d seen before. Laughter drew his attention to two children who were running about the tents.
He studied the children. They seemed to be human and dressed differently, but he couldn’t guess which part of the Four Lands they hailed from. Their parents arrived to scold them. They weren’t rovers, but their clothing would dictate that they weren’t farmers either. None of this was really important. He had just verified that none of them were armed, and they had food and shelter. He couldn’t see the person who was talking so strangely, but one armed person wouldn’t make a difference.
He emerged from the brushes, his burned fingers still wrapped around his sword. The man attempted to address him, but a swing of his sword separated his head from his shoulders. The woman screamed and the children froze. He lunged forward and slammed the sword through the center of the woman, spinning through to the side, letting the sword tear free from her body.
The kids seemed permanently rooted to the ground. Their eyes wide and staring at the gore dripping from the end of his black blade. He slowly walked up to the children his sword at the ready.
Once the deed was done, the Dark Lord turned his back to the dead children and moved toward the sound of the voice. It had been going steady the entire time that he was killing the family. He stopped in front of a box and kneeled down in front of it, tilting his head to the side. The box was speaking about a recent earthquake that had been generated from the center of a park. He didn’t know what a park was, but clearly this box seemed to be some sort of communication device between people. He’d seen something that looked like this before in the ruins of the old world. He ran his finger over the top of the box. “Interesting.”
                                        --------------------------------
Pyria jolted awake, unsure of when she had drifted off. She sat bolt upright and glanced at the cave entrance. The sky was a pale grayish purple indicating that she had slept through the night. She turned back to Allanon and observed his unsteady breathing. He had been fine last night, but something was off this morning.
She sat down next to him and rested the palm of her hand on his cheek. He was burning up. She had feared that the injuries might lead to infection and fever. Right now she was just hoping it was a light fever, but he was so hot to the touch.
Allanon was shivering from head to toe regardless of how warm he felt, his body covered in a light sweat. His breaths came in uneven gasps that almost sounded like soft moans of pain. She pulled the blanket down just over his right shoulder and peered under the bandage. She sucked in a quick breath. The cut in his shoulder was a furious dark red around the blackish edges. It was clear that the blade that cut him wasn’t a normal blade. She glanced down his back at the burns and frowned. His skin was puffed up and the more severe burns were beginning to leak.
She pulled the blanket back over him and rested her hand back on the side of his face, brushing her fingers lightly over the edge of his beard. “I need to make a salve for the burns, a salve for infection, and I need more water. I also need to keep you warm, but I can’t light a fire if I’m not here to watch it.” She spoke the list out loud, as she got to her feet. “I’ll be right back, Allanon.” She told him even though she knew he could not hear her.
She picked up her pack and made her way out of the cave. The sun had yet to rise, but the glow in the sky was all the light she needed. Moving quietly through the trees while listening for the sounds of running water, it didn’t take her long to find a stream.  She filled up the flask with water, taking a long drink before refilling it again.
Next she slowly branched out from the stream and started gathering the herbs she’d recognized from her studies, keeping any eye out for any edible berries or greens that she could use to supplement their meager supplies. She hoped to find some plants that would help his burns to heal and perhaps be able to clean out the cut on his shoulder. By the time she was done finding the herbs she was looking for, the sun had risen. She quickly started making her way back to the cave, when she crossed over a worn dirt path she hadn’t noticed before.
The trail appeared well-worn, and she wondered where it led. Her eyes rested on a wooden sign staked into the road. She tilted her head to the side at the fresh painted lettering making this as the "Crest hiking trail" with a listing of miles below. She frowned in confusion. She’d certainly never heard of nor read about things like this.
Pyria shook her head and continued back to the cave. It was becoming more clear to her that this place wasn’t the same, but still it was so similar that it confused her even more than just waking up somewhere else. She reached the cave and slipped inside.
She checked in on Allanon and he was still shivering, which was to be expected. She saw movement at the corner of her eye and spotted his hand griping the cloak that he was laying on. His knuckles were turning a whitish color from the tightness of his grip and it was causing the burns that laced his right hand to leak and bleed more.
“Hey, easy, easy.” She reached for his wrist, but stopped herself, not wanting to agitate the burns there. She glanced at his face hopeful that he might be awake, but his eyes were still closed. He was beginning to react to his condition, however, as sad as she was that he could subconsciously feel the pain he was in, she was relieved that he wasn’t in some sort of coma.
Pyria quickly started a fire with some kindling she’d picked up while she was outside. She stoked up the fire so that the chill was taken out of the cave. She was somewhat glad the place had caved in a little, making the space easier to heat. She worked on mixing the salves humming to herself as she worked, hoping to ease Allanon a bit even if he was still unconscious.
She picked up the disinfectant mixture and carefully unwrapped his shoulder. The bandage was soaked with puss from the wound and she nearly gagged from the smell of it. How could something get this bad overnight? She dipped her freshly cleaned fingers into the paste and gently applied it to the wound. Allanon’s body jerked below her and long moan escaped his lips at her touch. “Sorry, I know it stings.” She whispered as she worked as quickly as she dared. “But it will be better this way in the long run.”
She re-bandaged the shoulder and started changing out all the other bandages, most of the wounds had bloodied the ones she put on last night, and she knew she’d have to wash them if she stayed here much longer.
She moved onto the burns carefully rubbing in the salve. The salve would bring a cooling sensation to the whitish skin and it seemed to calm Allanon. His breathing was less rough as some of his pain was abated.
She picked up the flask and gently tilted his head to the side so that he wouldn't choke. "I need you to drink for me." She told Allanon. His fever had caused him to sweat quite a bit and she couldn't afford him dehydrating. She held the flask to his lips and slowly tipped it up letting the water run into his mouth as slowly as she could. It dripped over the side of his lower lip at first, then he swallowed the water in his mouth. She felt a sigh of relief escape her lungs and helped him with two more swallows before he seemed to not want anymore. "Good enough." She mused to herself as she dried his face with the towel.
Pyria picked up a spare cloth and carefully wet it down. She cradled Allanon’s head in her lap and pressed the damp rag against the side of his face careful not to get the bandages around his forehead wet. “You’re going to be ok.” She told him softly. Eventine had told her once that she had a way of demanding things from people in a way that made them want to do as she asked, and she hoped that right now she could channel that energy. “You are going to recover from this.” She pulled her pack closer fishing out some of the edible plants she'd found and started nibbling on them.
Thinking about her brother made her feel cold and lonely. She wondered what had happened to him, and if he was just over the hills looking for her. She looked toward the roof of the cave and spoke to her brother as if he could hear her. “If you are looking for me, Eventine, Godspeed.” She closed her eyes for a few moments just hoping that Allanon would be able to survive until help arrived, if help was even coming.
                                        --------------------------------
Elena stared at the shattered glass on the wood of the old shop floor. She was curled up in small ball, taking cover behind the cash register. She’d just been potting some rare herbs to place in the window of the shop when she’d felt the earthquake. Living in California meant earthquakes were a normal thing, but this one hadn’t just shook the earth. She’d felt something move inside of her soul. All of the crystals that hung in the window of her shop had reacted as well. They’d glowed brightly as if someone had lit a small flame inside them.
She drew a hand through her wavy gray hair. She’d been working in a mystical remedy shop for forty years, and never had she felt magic like this before. She jumped as her shop phone rang loudly on the counter. She managed to pull herself to her feet and shakily answered the phone. “Mystical remedies, and Cures.”
“Elena!”
“Thomas.” She was instantly comforted by her brother’s voice, but she could almost sense the worried tone in it. “Is everything alright?”
“You tell me. Did you feel that? The earthquake. It didn’t feel

normal?”
Elena felt her heartbeat quicken. She’d always believed in magic and its effects on the mind and body, but Thomas had always been skeptical. “You felt it as well? I think it might have been a magical aftershock.”
“I don’t know, but it did feel different. My wife called me and told me that chime set you gave me lit up.”
Elena bit her lower lip. She’d given her brother a set of chimes to ward off evil spirits and even a city away the crystals had lit up. “I need to go to the source.”
“Hey, you are going to wait for me. I’ll drive up this weekend.”
“This weekend? That is three days away.” Elena complained. “I was fixing to go tomorrow after I closed the shop.”
“Elena, it could be dangerous. You have to promise to wait for me.” His voice was stern and she felt as if she was one of his children.
She sighed knowing he wouldn’t let up till she agreed. “Alright little brother, I will consider waiting for you.”
“I said promise.”
“That is as good as you’ll get.” Elena shook her head at her brother’s concern. “Now you get back to your desk job.” She teased him. He was reluctant to hang up without a promise, but he knew better than to argue with her too much. She set to work cleaning up the glass and finding a new vase for the herbs.
Once that was done, she made her way out to the front door and looked up at the little lit-up sign, flicking the switch to off. The bright neon sign that read ‘Shannara’s Mystical Remedies and Cures’ fizzled out into dull, simple tubing.

Hello, subscribers! Since it’s been a while since I last posted a progress report, I thought I should take this time to break the silence and let you know what I’ve been up to.
I had taken an unexpected break from working on my mod, admittedly letting myself get hooked on Ark: Survival Evolved with the Pyria: Mythos Evolved mod. The mod adds tamable mermaids to the game, of which uses a model and animations created by 3DFoin, a company I more or less had a history with, so I was lured into the game with intrigue. I had started playing in a state where I was getting burned out on working on my mod, so it didn’t take much to get me hooked.
Tumblr media
Another contributing factor as to why I inadvertently allowed myself to get distracted for so long is because of the SwimIdle animation; one of the most important animations for my mod. It’s been a challenge deciding on the poses and movement with Oblivion’s limitations, and arms, hands and fingers are just a pain to animate in general, at least for me. I looked to other video games with mermaids for reference and inspiration, including Pyria: Mythos Evolved, as well as Perfect World International and Wildlife Park 2 - Fantasy, the latter being the one that struck a cord with me. The attention to detail on the mermaid’s animations is amazing, and taught me how I can make a sharp transition between idle and swimming look as natural as possible! (It still doesn’t look natural, but it manages not to be a bother.)
Tumblr media
And now, I feel my break has been long enough, and, having delayed 1.2 twice already, I am now back to work on my mod, working on the SwimIdle animation with Wildlife Park 2 - Fantasy being the inspiration. I have nothing presentable yet, as the arms and hands are proving to be a challenge, as expected. I will post a GIF of the animation as soon as it’s done, either on here, Twitter, or both. Speaking of Twitter, I decided to create an account there, in case my Tumblr account gets destroyed for whatever reason (probably because I forgot to censor the nipples in one of my progress reports...). You can find my Twitter page here.
Before I end this post, I just want to say; to those of you who have been waiting all this time for 1.2, and to those who are staying even after the delays and the break without notice, words cannot express my gratitude for your patience. I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for that as well as your understanding, and I apologize for making you wait this long. I will do my best to make the wait worth it. That, I promise you!

Your reactions are so cute and worth it đŸ„°đŸ„°đŸ„°
I'm so touched it made you so emotional? That's a huge score for this scene đŸ™ˆâ€.
I was a little worried, but if this is working it means that you have developed and showed them to us so well, that I could do this. I have a feel for them now and these descriptions and dialogues felt right for them. ✹ They are specific darlings and having insight into each of their motivations and backstories and what they feel and want for each other is very helpful.
Though I wouldn't be against a roleplay crossover like this, cause I love your dialogue and it would be fun thinking up comebacks for that.đŸ€Ł
Astrea felt like she would do something epic and right to convince them, while Elijah doesn't seem the type to handle diplomacy well when everyone is so tense and worried đŸ€Ł. But he found Zephyr upon arrival, which proves his underworld contacts - you would find rebels only through those, because everyone would be saying the same thing to be safe from the tyrannical rule around them.
Also knowing how bashful Astrea is about her appearance, I wanted Skye to accidentally stumble upon that with her impression of her. 💕
I also wanted to make a big deal out of Skye deciding to tell Astrea their names as a sign of trust. đŸ”„
I have so many headcanons for them now đŸ™ˆâ€
Just let these people bond with each other and face dangerous situations together.
Honestly Leander would be on boat seeing Antor and follow him around like a lost puppy.
Skye would totally love Astrea, her magic, her determination, her selflessness and empathy. Astrea and Zephyr have many similar core values and attitudes, and Skye would just love and appreciate her and want to be close friends.
Zephyr would stay suspicious just to balance that the other two - usually the most suspicious and distant people while he is the connector - falling so hard and quick to trust these people.
Zeph would be suspicious about Elijah the most, as Usurper's son (isn't this a conflict of interest, overthrowing a man who could give you the throne?) As someone close to Astrea and wanting her as true heir (isn't that a show? Why would an heir look for another heir to replace him with? What if he is playing her?)
Zephyr would really make them work for new recognition and trust from the people he gathered. And Astrea would impress him everytime and be happy he I so strickt with her, which would confuse him as heck
I would hope for Elijah to teach Zephyr some fun and to relax. Zeph would be too uptight in this world XD and with his responsibility and control complex and wanting to do everything on his own so he wouldn't have to, he would be driving himself insane without any respite. Elijah and your gang teaching him to relax a little, dance, spend time with those you love would be so cute.
I can just imagine Elijah dragging Zephyr to wear cooler clothes and be more attentive to Skye and relax and trust him more and Zephyr pushing these deep heavy conversations on him đŸ€Ł, like stay on track, while Elijahi is like "what are we alive for you, huh? You have to enjoy it a little too", and then Elijah sometimes does reveal things under the jokes, sometimes just plays him off, sometimes just drags him to have some fun instead...let these two become really slow friends 👀 cause I feel like this spot is kinda free for him after you leave Louis behind in Oracea and William is Astrea's best friend first.
Skye just becoming Astrea's confidant, and giving her that unconditional absolute love and support without any of the doubt, worries or difficult experiences Astrea had in Oracea. Cause in Pyria she is the star and hope and Skye would let her feel that.
Why do I imagine Skye and Elijah thinking up together what other Senate official to grab and talk, cause they would be either easy to blackmail or possible to get to their side...and Skye picking people and Elijah spreading his webs of machinations and convincing potential...
Also there is so much danger and injury potential in this setting.👀 Someone is being followed randomly by the guards (whatever police/commando for intimidation there is) and is scared to be alone, someone gets beat up out of fun right on the street cause they were standing too straight or dared to glare, there is a corrupt magic market spreading and Zephyr wants to deal with that cause it's jeopardizing their preparations, every move is risky, gets you blacklisted, helping others once they are target will get you in prison for the night, random but regular interrogation sessions that are just excuses to torture you for the joy, whistle-blowing from jealous neigbours,...(this was all historically real under fascist Germany and the communists, can you believe it)
Bloodless Heir x Tears of Iron AU Part 2
Here you go @bloodlessheirbyjacques đŸ€— I hope I did them justice. Really improvising a lot with the lines đŸ€Ł.
First part here.
It was striking midnight, the sky still somehow alight with the barely passed sunset. Skye still felt chill in the air, though that might have had more to do with the atmosphere of the room.
Zephyr called them, expression drawn and serious and asked them to meet these people he couldn’t trust for a rumour they all yearned to be true. That was a dangerous combination.
“Are you sure, it was Elijah, the exiled prince?” Leander asked for the upteenth time.

About the Shannara finale & season in general
This is gonna be long so

First of all, i wanna be very clear. I’m not trying to spread hate for the show. I love this show. i would never say anything hateful cause i appreciate how this show is and how it wants to be, and i don’t want it to be cancelled due to negativity. I’ve just been frustrated about it
at least lets say since the finale, and I’m writing this to try to get it out of my system.
First of all, I’m a wilretria shipper. since day 1 Eretria&Wil have been my babies. so I’m sure you can see where some of my frustration comes from.
Second. From day one my favourite characters have been Eretria, Allanon and Ander (see why my frustration?)
Eretria: I love Ivana. when she won the Goya award i clapped like crazy. And then turned our Eretria was awesume. Anything anyone would want to be. Strong, an amazing fighter, brave, loyal
.and as we also learn, kind and even sweet.
Allanon: i love Manu since i don’t know when, so him being the druid guy
i knew it was gonna be badass. and then it was. and i couldn’t love Allanon more.
Ander: the cool friendly uncle. helping niece to run the race, going to get her at the party like “omg girl you look stunning, that’s ma niece” and then talking relationships with her. I JUST LOVED HIM. and then he also made impossiblefor me to focus on tragic moments. i don’t tag him “the ‘dat ass’ elf” for no reason

Well, so far you can see season 2 has not given me happiness in this matter. 1 became ashes and the other a waterfall (sort of)
What frustrates me about these is, well..the books. I still haven’t read them, cause i was waiting for the end of the season, but i read a couple of things, from which i got that Ander&Allanon probs both died on the 3rd book. Ok, i can deal with that but...I can’t? cause I thought this season was filling a gap between book 2 and 3. but that’s ok i guess. follow the book way too early.
But what gets me about this is that then I can think or say, “ok, so i guess then they will also follow the book for Eretria and Wil, right? I mean
cmon. It doesn’t seem like that for now, but you know, that’s what a season 3 would be for”, but then people say “oh cmon, the tv show doesn’t have to follow the book, stop with the books”. But the thing is, season 1 was very much like the book from what I’ve heard. I remember reading in the Nerdist website they said they wanted to keep it very similar to the book, that they only made Eretria have more depth and do something more than FALL IN LOVE WITH WIL AND FOLLOW HIM AROUND (sorry, dunno why that capbloq itself
oh wait, i do) So, they are gonna follow and even make happen ahead of time things that happen in the book, but others..neeeh. ok, that frustrates me.
And one other thing, since i’m talking about my ship. I feel wilretria shippers have been mostly completely silent this season. I don’t think we have created any drama regarding Lyria. We just kept getting blows and letting that relationship happen without saying a thing. Because we fear if we say anything we will be called “homophobic”, get hate and things like that. And it is frustrating cause we aren’t voicing ourselves because we aren’t dicks, and we are letting everyone enjoy their ship, but this may ruin any chance of our ship happening if they think we don’t care. And we are seeing it getting even harder with the Mareth thing. So i want you to understand, i don’t care if Eretria has a gf, she is bi so she can have all the gfs she wants. But shutting out Wil completly as a possibility cause yes...no. I love Wil and Eretria even since before i watched the show. I do care, so much.
Now about season 2 in general:
PROS
Garet Jax or “jarjar gax” how i like to call him for funsies. total badass. I wished we could have know what was his past entirely cause it seemed interesting, dammit.
Mareth: She was cute and sassy, a magic user in a different way we had seen, which was cool! and then, related to Allanon, which is great considering we also know nothing about Allanon, or Mareth’s mom. So nice, she could be anything and take us anywhere
And on that note, something I’ve always appreciated about this show, from Tilton, to Allanon, to the gardener, to the background actors, to the rovers & elf hunters...this world really seems like a real post-apocaliptic world cause there’s people from all etnicities. these season some more in leads. good show
This stupid season made me love Wil. That lil bitch annoyed me so much. But he is too cute. And we saw him in his lows and in his highs. using the magic unwisely, hugging the hell out of Eretria when it turned out she wasn’t dead (this poor kid, i swear to god. a whole year thinking he lost Amberle and Eretria; the latest being his fault for leaving her behind). Also he made his peace with Allanon awww. And to be honest I love his death scene. It mirrored Amberle’s and now all our 3 heroes have died to save everyone (let’s not forget ma rover bleeding herself out, ok?) And thank whomever must be thanked, he isn’t dead. You can’t die when i start to love you, a-hole. tho that’s what this show does to me.
Eretria: We got to see where she comes from, what will be her challenges and how her loyalty to her friends is stronger and bigger than anyone could ever have thought. Also she was badass as always.
Ander. I mean, Ander is everything. anything with Ander was the best scene ever. dat ass. best king ever. bless. he also said Eretria is family and at this point I dunno if i want Eretria to marry Wil or him cause honestly “yes, i remember when i met your mom...i fell for her instantly. i mean, she kicked me in the face and let me unconcious, but..” is a great “meetcute” Also the threw that traitor down the waterfall omg my king is so fucking badass.
Allanon: i mean...pfft it’s allanon. everything about him is a pro, duh. Giving him a family and showing him caring for Wil was nice too. he is not a heartless guy. he loves all this crazy kids.
Bandon, Riga, Warlock lord: god, you bunch of asshoooles. i hate you all so muuuuch. Good bad guys :) The warlock lord became my hero when he de-headed Riga. you deserve it biiitch omgggg for Andeeeer. Then the Bandon thing...i mean...poor Bandon, but bitch, you had everyone occupied and Riga killed Ander. Then my new hero warlock lord killed that ship traitor Allanon (i was like that’s what you get! but then he was cursed and became ashes....and i was like, ok a bit too much) and then he did the other thing and i was disappointed on my new hero. i was all “i was rooting for youu” They all where awesume at being bad. is awesume having such great baddies
I can’t believe i almost forgot her
Ambertree: or Amberle, as you prefer. I really didn’t want her to be back for the sake of my ship. but I also did start crying when i saw her in the trailer. So i guess i love her too. And seeing her was so nice. I missed the elf princess. but stay as a tree please Amberle. (ps, also wtf amberle you too with the Mareth thing, i take it back, i hate everyone on this show)
CONS
Ander: Can you please explain to me what the hell has this poor thing done to deserve this shit? His brother dies. he becomes this depressed drinking ball of an elf and loses his gf. years later his dad, his bro, half of his goddamn castle, his ex he still loves die. ALL DIE. His niece becomes a tree. And he has to be king. Also Eretria kicked him in the face (i kind of ship it) And then we get to season 2 and the girl he is with s murdered (....i wasn’t on board of this anyway cause god Catania, you effed the Bandon inprisonment, didn’t ya. but if Ander my love was happy. but no. and then he gets murdered trying to save this girl (Eretria i’m never going to forgive you for being up to tell her to get up and run, but not to throw a knife and save my elf husband). and so the story of Ander ends. Being throw down the traitors waterfall, where no one can recover his body and give him the royal funeral he deserves. I will forever be bitter about this, i kid you not. #longlivetheking
Allanon: Again, my babies cant catch a break. He is trying to stop Bandon, turns out he has a daughter with his loved one and we don’t get to see them become dad and daughter. I had already accepted he was gonna die because i read someone saying “after what happens in book 3″ And then he drops that “you and mareth are ma ship” bomb. my brain: “oh you asshole how dare you to compare them with you and Pyria. You can die now, byeeeee” (i’m evil, i know).
Eretria: I feel this season didn’t do much for her. I guess she did all the development she could do in season 1. But i feel they mistreated her a lot. I get she has a girlfriend, or so, cause at some point she had broken up with her i think...but i feel the way they made her interact with Wil was just weird. The little times they interacted. that was annoying. (those two have so much chemistry they have to keep ‘em apart or we all would be arranging their wedding by the “welcome back, shorttips”) Eretria has always been in love with Wil, let’s be honest. We all saw her face the day Wil said “there is no us” or when she saw him kissing Amberle. We all know without Amberle in the picture things would be very different. Does no one really remember he was up for it the same day he met Eretria? and then some days after in the palace room? (also let me point out Eretria does love will cause to rob some stones she could have giving him an “Ander” and leave. but she didn’t. she stayed, and said would never call him shortips again). So this two at the very least had the hots for each other to begin with. Also let me remind you how Wil cried when Eretria died. He used the stones for something else than killing a demon for the first time to save her (if that doesn’t scream love, soulmates, endgame or whatever, i dunno what does) And this season, tho they have kept giving us sweet moments of the two, where we shippers kept our hopes high (the tree girl was gone, this was out moment), and we hoped to see THEM FALL IN LOVE AND GET TOGETHER (since its a space between books, you know)... and that’s why the complete anulation of this ship is so painful for some of us. We felt Amberle was some sort of puppy teenage love, and Eretria would be the true love woman for Wil....but no. anyway...a Shannara and a child of the Apocalypse. Good magic & (bad/good) magic. ancient kings blood, ancient humans blood. like honestly.
Wil: I’m not gonna blame the poor kid for being an emo and be mad at the world, cause his life went to shit last epi of last season (if not all season in general). And i honestly developed love for him this season. BUT...this thing about him and Mareth...I feel it came out of nowhere. They were just friends and then one day she makes eyes to him and he makes eyes to her? there wasn’t even a big thing where i could say, where there they realized they love each other...and out of nowhere they are the biggest love story eveeer. im sorry, no. i can’t. I get everyone loves them, but i...no. (again, i guess is the wilretria shipper in me who sees more past and more development in the relationship and that this was happening too quickly out of nowhere) (Also the pre-death kiss, that was i guess so romantic and adfghjklñ....kinda ruined the scene for me. like “oh ffs, die already, Wil!”*narrow*” was a thing that happened in my brain)
Others: I dont think I have much complains about the others. One of the only ones is Lyria’s storyline. i feel like the only thing i saw her do was mope and cry? and that one time she stood up to her mom, planned a wedding with Ander and once held a sword (which i feel they really exploded to make her look badass)...i feel like they made this character to be the love interest, and im sorry for it cause it could have been so much more. Also that “don’t wanna be a princess I’m running away but yas i wanna be queen” thing...does it even make sense for the person we were introduced to? also it was the fact that I had to buy into her love story with Eretria. When i saw in the trailer she was gonna have a gf i was like, oh no...more difficulties for my ship, but hey yes, let’s see what happened here. But then...i didn’t know anything about them? when did they meet? how long have they been dating? “where you go, i go”...where does that come from? how did i know what Lyria’s mom told Eretria about her saying that to everyone wasn’t true? Maybe my ship blinds me, but i feel this relationships started as if i started season 1 with will and Amberle frickfracking and then she becoming a tree and I’m supposed to be super sad, but i can’t I don’t know if it makes sense since i shipped Pyria and Allanon since moment 1 but that’s probably my “omg star crossed lovers, him staying young while she grows old, not seeing each other in 30 years shdfadlgfhañsla” loser heart Mareth: I was here for the magic kids friendship until it stopped being a friendship. now she is ruining my life. and i don’t appreciate it.
((me being annoying: also the blingbling palace was too much for me, omg did i miss Arborlon))
Ok, I think that is all. I know it seems like I didn’t like this season, but omg, i loved it. it was so intense all the time, and so many awesume fights, and some great new characters. Is just that I had hopes for my ship just to see them sinking more and more. at this point I’m Artax and my ship is more a submarine.
I can’t wait to see what they do in season 3 (and probably cry and hate everyone cause my ship sinks), but this show is too good to end forever in a “to be continued”. I want my babies back
and please show, stop getting people i love into #crispinskorner

Most Common Dental Myths of All Time
Tumblr media
These days many people have developed some of the most common dental myths which are completely baseless and irrelevant. Today, through this article we have highlighted some of the most common dental myths of all time.
Let’s get started!
Most common dental myths busted!
Almost all of us must have heard about the various dental myths such as flossing teeth can make them weak and have a gap, it is not necessary to visit the dentist regularly and many others. Let us know about them in complete detail.
1. You don’t need to visit your dentist regularly
Most of the people think that they don’t need to visit their dentist regularly until they have developed some very serious problems. Rather, one should try to visit his or her dentist every month for a routine dental checkup so that they do not develop any serious dental problem and the issues can be cured at a very early stage. If you reside in Parramatta, then there are some of the well qualified and best dentists in Parramatta one can consult.
2. Flossing teeth can bring gap in your teeth
The second most common dental myth on our list is that flossing one’s teeth regularly can create teeth gaps. However, this is completely wrong because flossing one’s teeth makes sure that no left-behind food is left stuck inside our mouth which can turn into the cavity or cause teeth to decay. Therefore, it is always better to floss teeth every day. Even some of the best dentists also recommend flossing teeth after every meal.
3. Dental hygiene is not important
It is a common notion for people to believe that dental hygiene is not that important. However, one should note that the overall hygiene of the body is also related to dental hygiene. Not only this if a person does not keep up with good and healthy dental habits then he or she can develop diseases like mouth cancer, pyria, etc. If you want to know about these healthy habits consult the best dentists in Parramatta today.
4. Diet soda does not harm teeth
Another most common dental myth on our list is that diet soda is not at all harmful for our teeth. This is because despite the fact that such drinks do not contain any sugar but they are rich carbonated drinks which can make one’s teeth and gums extremely weak and lose their shine.
5. Teeth become weak with age
Last but definitely not the least, people after crossing 35 years of age start to think that their teeth are getting damaged and weak because they are aging, however, this claim is completely baseless and irrelevant because it all depends upon the dental habits of the person that how strong his or her teeth are actually.
We hope that the above-mentioned most common dental myths are now busted and our readers will become more aware of their dental hygiene. If there is any more information that you want to know about dental health, just stay updated with our blogs and articles so that you do not miss out on the right information.

The Shannara Chronicles | 2.07/08 Review
The Shannara Chronicles - Warlock / Amberle
Paranor: written by Alex DĂaz & Julie DĂaz, directed by James Marshall Crimson: written by April Blair & Elle Triedman, directed by James Marshall
Tumblr media
There is not much time left of this season, and so the story is preparing for its showdown. The last obstacles are moving in place, the main players realise their path and their goals and what they must do to achieve them. Lyria is given an important object to guard, Allanon realises that he cares about his daughter and starts teaching her, Tamlin says goodbye, Wil and Amberle finally meet and Eretria goes darkside while the Warlock Lord rises. These two episodes are ending The Crimson plot and prepare for the final battle with the Warlock Lord. It’s an ending for some stories, and a prelude for the final two episodes.
Overthrowing two kingdoms
The Crimson has successfully robbed two kingdoms of their rulers: the first episode starts with the dead body of Ander being thrown down the waterfall and Tamlin being forced to kneel before Riga and then thrown intro prison. We got see a more positive side of Queen Tamlin here; she doesn’t have any further secret motives or plans but is a Queen who cares for her subjects and her country. We didn’t get many scenes with Lyria and Tamlin together, and their relationship was difficult at best, but now that everything is coming to an end, Tamlin focuses on what is most important to her. She says goodbye to her daughter, and after a moment of clarity for her and Jax in the prison, she faces her death with dignity.
Jax and Slanter manage to escape and go to find Lyria, having promised Tamlin they would look for her and protect her.
Meanwhile, Lyria stays with Cogline who has warned her that the Warlock Lord will come searching for her once he’s back. That is because Tamlin gave her the key to Heaven’s Well which is basically a magical McGuffin, and the Warlock Lord is therefore very interested in it.
“Darkness does not serve us, we serve darkness.”
Bandon reaches Graymark and after killing all the Crimson guards there he revives the Warlock Lord, who looks like a gothic version of Allanon. It’s a bit cheesy and less impressive than I had hoped for, but it’s tolerable.
Fulfilling Bandon’s wish he revives Catania, and Bandon hopes he can be with Catania from now on, but she’s horrified and rejects him. This whole scene is a bit confusing, because I wonder when Bandon learned of Catania’s death, and what else he would have asked of the Warlock Lord if Catania hadn’t died? He started his quest to revive the Warlock Lord before Catania died, so that couldn’t have been his ultimate goal. Maybe until she died he didn’t have another wish? In any case, this revival of Catania goes horribly wrong for Bandon – first Catania rejects him, and then the Warlock Lord takes control over her and seems to completely erase her personality. It’s disturbing to see her like that, and then we have to see her getting killed a second time – this time by Bandon on the order of the Warlock Lord, who is testing his loyalties with this. However, I’m still confused by the motives of this Lord. Anyone claiming to “serve” darkness should better offer a reason why anyone would want to do that.
It seems to work out for him though. Riga, after having conquered the kingdom of Leah, having his men attack Arborlon and having dealt with the Druids in Storlock, heads for Graymark.  There he finds himself facing the Warlock Lord who has killed all of his men, and although he’s immune to direct magical attacks, he’s not immune of magic using a barbed wire to catch him and the gates to crush him. In the end, the Warlock Lord kills him by ripping his head off. It was interesting to see those two face each other – two extreme opposites. But I’ll miss Riga – he did a good job as a villain in the story.
The torch of the Druids
After having received a wound by the Warlock Lord’s word in the last episode, Allanon’s condition gets worse and he falls into a coma. Wil and Mareth manage to get him to Storlock, but the healers there can’t do anything for him.
In a quite emotional scene Mareth calls Wil out for his actions in Paranor where he let Bandon get his hands on the skull and poison Allanon. Wil realises his mistakes and that despite his best intentions it ended up in the worst case scenario. He also admits that he still cares for Allanon. As fate would have it one of the gnomes brings him the codex of Paranor, and with its help Mareth figures out a way to enter Allanon’s dream world to wake him up.
She is able to find Allanon, who uses the dream world to consult his own mentor about the legacy of the Druids – he assumed it was Bandon, but actually Mareth is the chosen one. Both Mareth and Allanon can leave the dream world and wake up, and Allanon’s runes start to transfer to Mareth. He finally accepts to train her - preparing her for sword fights and for what it means to be a Druid.
A main part of this is to detach oneself from love, but when Riga attacks the village and takes Mareth prisoner, Allanon gives up the codes quickly in the hope of saving Mareth. Riga of course didn’t plan to let any of them go, so he orders his men to burn both Druids alive.  Mareth blames herself for Riga getting the codes, but Allanon assures her that she’s more important than the book. When the episode ends, the flames are burning higher and we’re left to wonder who will save these two.
The scenes between father and daughter were mostly well done, especially their conversation about Pyria and the last scene. The scene in Allanon’s dream world felt a bit odd though – the reveal that Mareth was the Druid that was foretold wasn’t exactly a surprise, so the scenes in the dream world felt a bit pointless.  On the other hand: the scenes between Mareth and Wil were sweet, and we can see that they really care about each other. It was also good to see them address Wil’s mistakes, because he’s been so sure of his actions until the end of last episode that it had to be discussed.
It is also worth mentioning that with Ander dead Mareth is the only living member of the Elessedil family and therefore heir to the throne of Arborlon. Being a Druid at the same time she would make for a really powerful queen.
Closure
After Flick’s death, Allanon’s poisoning and Bandon getting the Warlock Lord’s skull, Wil is understandably depressed. He knows he made mistakes and blames himself for what happened. Mareth first calls him out on his actions, and then on his self-pity. However, inspired by her courage he gains a bit of hope, too. But when Eretria arrives to tell him that Amberle has summoned him, he’s reluctant since she never had answered his calls before. They travel to Arborlon and Wil enters the Ellcrys.
There he finally meets Amberle. It’s a sweet reunion but sad and heart-breaking at the same time. It’s important to remember that Amberle only became the Ellcrys about a year ago and that their last moment was rushed – everything happened really fast. It’s no wonder that Wil has a hard time dealing with everything that has happened. Amberle claims that only Wil can save the four lands now, but Wil is convinced hell fail. Amberle tells him that he needs to accept his truth to succeed and helps him realise that it’s necessary for him to let her go. With that realisation, the Sword of Shannara that broke in the fight with Bandon is made whole again. With a last look on Amberle, Wil leaves the Ellcrys.
“There is something I need to tell you.”
Eretria is made a messenger by Amberle once again, and together with Wil she travels to Arborlon. Shortly before they reach their destination she stops to tell Wil about Ander’s death. For a moment it looked like she wanted to tell him about her demonic magic, too, but that doesn’t happen. I understand why she wouldn’t tell something like that to anyone, but during dangerous times like these it usually is for the best when all cards are on the table – at least among allies. Look Eretria, if people know about your problem they can at least prepare for it or look out for any sign of trouble?
When Wil enters the tree, Eretria takes on the task of rescuing the Chosen, the keepers of the Ellcrys, from The Crimson. The Crimson would have been too much many for Eretria to take on alone, but one of the Wraiths shows up and kills them all. When it attacks Eretria and the Chosen, she tries to stop it but it apparently enters her body - somehow. One of the Chosen watches and sees Eretria’s eyes turn black.
When Wil comes back he finds Eretria kneeling on the ground, with bloody hands. He’s not suspicious because there were enough Crimson guys for her to kill there and she assures him that everything is fine. They leave, and only the viewer sees the Chosen who was watching Eretria when her eyes turned black lying dead on the ground. Oops. At this point Eretria has become dangerous but no one but Cogline knows about it. We’ll see what kind of trouble these black eyes will cause in the next two episodes!
Next: Wilderun / Blood (spoilers)
youtube
Next week we get the final two episodes for this season - and I have a feeling it will be the two last episodes for the whole series. I hope I’m wrong though. The teaser promo doesn’t show too much - which is actually good, because I’ve seen far too many promos giving away crucial moments of an episode, and it’s much more fun to watch the episodes mostly unspoiled. What we can guess from the little glimpses is that Mareth and Allanon survive the fire (no surprise), we’ll see more of Eretria’s demonic side, Eretria and Lyria are probably getting engaged, Allanon and Wil share a tender moment and Allanon maybe fights the Warlock Lord. I’m eager to see how the story ends, but at the same time I don’t want this show to end! I’ll miss Wil, Eretria, Mareth, Allanon and the others.
