#what is this song?#seriously this is one of the many reasons I keep saying that this game should lean heavily into the horror aspects of gensokyo. why did they#put a song like this in this game if they aren’t going to effectively use it? it’s maddening.#I hate this games story events because they’re all focused on the most boring fan service and things that don’t matter?#if the game is going to be like this the least you can do is make it somewhat interesting#I don’t even think this is that great of a horror ambient track but if you had tha appropriate setup it would be doing numbers#tlw#q#so annoying…

FIC: You and I are like the ink staining all the other pages (Game of Thrones, Jon/Sansa)
RATING: Explicit (m/f sex); step-incest; possible dubious consent; underage sex
SUMMARY: (modern AU) Step-siblings Jon and Sansa have been in denial about their mutual attraction for a long time. When the Stark-Tully kids head out to the Halloween carnival, Jon is the only one willing to go through the ‘lame’ Ghost tunnel with Sansa. But they don’t know it’s been re-purposed from a Tunnel of Love, that’s been given an extra kick via magic...
PROMPT: For jonsa-halloween for their 2024 event, using the October 30th prompt ‘Magic’.
NOTE: I originally had this idea for ‘curse’, but that would have involved Joffrey being stupid and vengeful, and I don’t really want to give his royal skidmark any page time, so I switched tracks somewhat. While doing so, I realised I was actually writing a prequel to one of my stories from the 2020 event, ‘What you are in the dark’. So to clarify: this is a modern AU, where the Starks are a blended family. Jon and Arya are Ned’s children, while Robb, Sansa and Bran are Catelyn’s kids. Rickon is theirs, and is still a toddler. Theon, Robb, Jon and Sansa are all in high school. Arya and Bran are thirteen and twelve.

ONE YEAR EARLIER
“Agatha... what are those symbols you’re painting?”
“You seriously don’t know?”
“Well, from here they look like several examples of ‘surrender to your desires’, ‘increase affection’, and ‘increase libido’.”
“So why did you ask?”
(sigh) “Agatha, I was asking with the sub-text “Why in Hecate’s name are you painting magic symbols inside our carnival attraction, which we will be exposing many members of the public to?” Do you want us to get sued? Or called in by the Misuse of Magic Office?”
“Don’t be silly! It’s not mind-altering or anything, it’s just giving things a little... push. This is going to be a ‘Tunnel of Love’, so the couples that go through it will come out feeling lovey-dovey and horny. Just think about the Yelp reviews we’ll get!”
“And what about people who aren’t couples, who are just going through it for laughs? Or people who are going on this because they get sick on other rides, and who’s significant others are on the coaster? Or tweenage girls going through with their besties because it’s so romantic?”
(eyeroll) “It’s like you think I’m stupid or something. All the boats are floating on water, so the customers won’t be around any of the symbols long enough for anything to happen inside the ride. If anything, their partners will have a good time when they get home, or they get to discover the joys of masturbation. Honestly, the worst that will happen is that a few of the security guards might bust some couples fucking in the parking lot because they don’t want to wait to get home. So what?”
(deeper sigh) “If something goes wrong, I’m throwing you off the flying carpet.”
“Fine, Miss Scaredy-cat! And when we get asked to hire it out all over the North, I get all the bragging rights!”
ONE MONTH EARLIER
“Agatha, did you hire out our Tunnel of Love to a Halloween carnival?”
“Yep! Their Ghost train got derailed somewhere in the Neck, and they’re paying us triple the usual hire fee plus ten per cent of the gate! It’s easy to re-decorate – the whole tunnel looks like a cave anyway. We put Halloween costumes on all the dummies, add in a few fake coffins and bubbling cauldrons and maybe put in a mad scientist lab or zombie graveyard to replace the masqued ballroom? We hang fake spider-webs and black drop-cloths from the ceiling with ghost outlines, and instead of the love songs we play spooky sound effects over the sound system. We haven’t painted the spare set of boats yet, so we make them black and use stencils for skulls and bones over that. Hey, if we keep them that way maybe we can add a pirate cave option?”
PRESENT DAY - LAST FRIDAY BEFORE HALLOWEEN
“Sheesh, Sansa, you’re such a scaredy-cat. We wait any longer to hit the really good rides, we’ll be stuck in line for ages. All the college students will hit the carnival soon – trust me, I know.”
“I’m not scared, Arya,” Sansa told her step-sister. “I just get motion-sick easily, remember? I ride the roller-coaster, the Hurricane and the Zipper within an hour, and I’ll be bringing up dinner with a vengeance. Just go without me.”
Arya made an expressive face. “I forgot about all those meds you had to take for our family honeymoon. But seriously, what was the point of getting to leave Rickon and the parentals at home if not to go on all the rides?”
Jon ruffled her hair affectionately. “You can still go on all the rides. At least the ones you’re tall enough for.”
Arya scowled and hit her older brother in the side. “I haven’t had my growth spurt yet! That’s why Sansa found me these platform combat boots.”
Jon smiled, not even feeling Arya’s punch. While Sansa had corralled Arya and Bran through the shooting games and stashing Arya’s armful of prizes in the car, Theon had split a joint with him and Robb. As a result, Jon was feeling as chilled as a capybara.
“Robb and Theon are coming back now,” Sansa pointed down the midway. “Robb loves those rides, too. If he hesitates, tell him it’ll be a sibling bonding moment – that always gets him.”
Bran snickered. “Sansa, the mastermind. But seriously, Theon loves the arcade but hates admitting it. I’ll ask him to go through it with me and that’ll leave Robb for you.”
Sansa grinned. “That leaves Jon to go through the haunted house with me.”
“No it doesn’t! I want to go through the haunted house too!” Arya protested.
“And me!” Bran added. “What about the mirror maze, or the Ghost Tunnel? I think you’re the only ones who wanted those.”
“Um, maybe not the maze,” Jon mumbled. “Reminds me of my ex.”
“The one who shot you with an arrow or the one who’s now running that cult?” Sansa asked.
“Dany,” Jon replied. He hadn’t even told his best friend Sam, or Robb, that his narcissistic to the point of God-complex girlfriend had once hired out the entire mirror maze for an hour so she could make him fuck her while she watched their reflections in about ten different mirrors. There were reasons he’d stayed with her as long as he had - almost all of them sexual.
“Ghost Tunnel then?” Sansa asked brightly.
“Sure,” Jon said agreeably. “It hasn’t been here before, so I’m up for the new experience.”
Leaving their younger siblings in Robb and Theon’s sometimes-capable hands, Jon and Sansa headed across the fairgrounds.
Sansa looked up at the night sky, and smiled. “I love full moons, and this one’s special, did you know?”
“Wasn’t Bran talking about this at breakfast the other day?” Jon asked. “It’s a blue moon, yeah? The second in a month?”
“Exactly. It’s very good for charging spells and ceremonies.”
“You don’t talk much about your magic studies,” Jon remarked curiously. “Even when I helped you study for the botany section.”
“It tends to upset Mother. I inherited the talent from her, but she’s so devoted to the Seven she always refused to do anything with it. At least she’s never tried to keep me from it. Though I think it’s partly because Uncle Brynden and Aunt Lysa had a discussion – the kind with a capital D - with her about it when I was younger.”
“So you’re not doing any of those spells or ceremonies?”
Sansa shook her head. “My mentor’s doing something tomorrow, but as a solo practitioner I’m not at the stage yet where it would be useful for me. At my level, without a circle or coven, I might even do myself some damage.”
Arriving at the head of the line, Sansa and Jon tore some tickets off their pre-bought roll, and handed them over to the attendant, dressed in what looked like a Shakespeare heroine costume with a fake vampire bite dribbling down her throat and pale sparkly face paint.
“A water ride? I haven’t seen one of those in a Ghost tunnel before,” Sansa remarked, as Jon handed her into the boat. She stashed her messenger bag in a cage underneath the prow, before she settled into the seat.
The boat’s shape forced them to sit very close together and it took several attempts to find a comfortable position, Jon having to put his arm around Sansa as they headed off into the dark.
A lifelong connoisseur of haunted attractions, Sansa murmured comments to Jon as they slowly floated along.
“Glow in the dark paint usually looks a bit tacky, but these ghosts are painted really well.”
“Oooh, that’s a lovely effect on those floating candelabra! Maybe there’s some actual magic being used here?”
“I wonder why there are no scare actors? There should have been at least one by now if this ride has them.”
“Can you hear a crackle? You think there’s a set-piece up ahead with lightning effects?”
Just as Jon muttered his agreement, they rounded the curve and saw a large alcove holding what looked to be Frankenstein’s laboratory, complete with a semi-covered body on a lab table, and even a pseudo-skylight above showing lightning constantly flashing. Their boat settled to a halt, either to change passengers at the beginning or to let them admire the showpiece, when a particularly large thunderclap made them jump.
Then the already dim lighting went out, leaving them in pitch darkness.
“What the hell?”
Silver runes glowed at several points along the wall, and Sansa exclaimed, “So they are using real magic!”
A soothing voice echoed through the darkness. “We are currently experiencing a power failure, and are working to restore the lights and movement of the boats. In the meantime, we are providing an alternative soundtrack.”
Piano music echoed in the tunnel, and Jon absently identified, “Tchaikovsky. Kind of romantic for a haunted tunnel.”
“Still better than the creepy sound effects, given the situation,” Sansa murmured.
Sansa wasn’t sure how long they floated in the dark, before she found herself snuggling closer to Jon. His arm tightened around her in response.
“Cold?” he asked quietly.
“Not exactly.”
Actually, she was feeling quite warm. Sansa opened up her zippered hoodie and pulled her sweater out from the waistband of her short skirt. She turned her head sideways to bury her face in Jon’s neck. He smelled really good, and Sansa absently pressed her thighs together, enjoying the sensation.
Jon rested his head on top of Sansa’s, as his hand curved around her hip, his thumb at just the right angle to dip under the hem of her sweater to stroke her soft skin just above the waistband of her skirt. It felt really good, holding her close; her slim form fit perfectly into the angles of his own. He felt her lips on the sensitive skin on his throat, and bit back a groan as his cock stirred. Now was probably a bad time to remember all the times he’d fisted his cock to thoughts of his lovely step-sister. Even if those pretty tits of hers were pressed softly against his chest, and he was fairly sure that he could feel her hardened nipples through her sweater and his shirt.
Sansa could admit to herself, here in the dark, that her panties were wet and her breasts ached with need. That she wanted to be even closer to Jon. She wanted to feel his bare skin against hers, and to wrap her arms and legs around him. Her heart pounding, Sansa let her hand drift along the contours of his torso and down, until she could feel the hard bulge between his legs. She sighed as she curved her hand around it, then gasped as she felt Jon’s lips against her ear.
“Let me,” Jon murmured, his voice almost soundless as he brought his free hand down to cover the fingers rubbing at him through his jeans. He moved them aside just enough to undo the button and zip, and groaned in relief as he parted the slit in his boxers to free his erection. Had Theon added something to that joint? He was so horny he was pretty sure he could hammer nails with his dick.
Jon couldn’t see Sansa’s fingers gently, tentatively wrap around his rampant cock, gingerly fisting and stroking him, but it was really working for him. The hand he’d latched around her hip slid up and under her sweater, until he could feel the lace of her bra. He ran his fingertips along the curve of her breast until he found the hem of the cup, gently tugging until her now-exposed breast fell into his palm, where his fingers could rub and flick at her nipple. She was half-way in his lap, her knee hooked over his thigh, and Jon used it as a guide for his other hand, gliding his fingers along her inner thigh until he found her mound.
Sansa whimpered as he stroked and rubbed her pussy through the soaking wet fabric of her underwear, but he wanted more. Jon pulled and fumbled until he felt her bare folds, and expertly found her clit. Sansa moaned, and Jon’s cock all but jumped in her grip in response.
Sansa’s head was spinning, and in the dark she was blind to everything but Jon. His touch on her breast and between her legs, and the hot throbbing rod of muscle in her hand. She felt so good, and she loved it. Why had no one ever told her she could feel so good? She moved her hips against Jon’s hand, and his thick fingers slid in her slick folds until one slipped right inside her. She felt herself squeeze down on him in reaction.
“More. Jon, I want more,” she whispered. Another finger pushed it’s way inside her, and they both wriggled and curved, and when Jon touched a certain spot Sansa slammed her hand over her mouth as she shivered and writhed through her first climax.
Jon had never fucked a virgin before, but Sansa was so tight around his fingers he was sure he was about to. She was so wet she was dripping onto his hand, and he wouldn’t have any issues working his dick into Sansa’s cunt even though he was on the larger side and she was so tight.
“You need to sit on my lap,” he murmured. It took some manoeuvring, untangling their legs by feel, but both Jon’s hands latched on Sansa’s hips, and he pulled her body flush to his with her knees bracketing his hips. His cock rubbed against her soaked underwear, and Sansa sighed and rocked her pelvis to increase the friction. Jon could already feel the pressure building along his spine; he needed to move quickly. “Sansa? If I lift you up, can you put me in the right place?”
Sansa reached down and gripped his cock in answer. He felt her pull her underwear aside with one hand as the tip of cock brushed against her folds. As it notched into her opening, Jon eased Sansa down, groaning as he sank into her tight, slick cunt.
Was it her delectable pussy that felt so good, or was it because he’d never fucked raw before? Either way, Jon was pretty sure he was having the best sex of his life.
“Your thing is inside me!” Sansa whimpered. “It’s so big, I’m so full.”
“Are you hurting?” Jon rumbled softly in her ear.
“Mmmph, ah! It feels really good, though,” Sansa gasped. She wriggled and squirmed, not sure whether she was trying to get Jon deeper inside her or find a position that didn’t feel like she was going to burst. She pushed her sweater up to her armpits, and wrenched at the front hooks of her bra. As Jon’s grip on her hips urged her to rock back and forth, Sansa slid her arms around his neck and rubbed her bare breasts against the soft cotton of his t-shirt.
“Lean back a little,” Jon ordered.
Sansa arched her back, mourning the loss of stimulation to her breasts, but Jon somehow shifted his hips, changing the angle of his hardness and Sansa yelped as he rubbed against the place inside his fingers had found earlier, making her feel like a lightning-bolt, sizzling and ready to strike. He did it again and again, and Sansa felt herself explode.
“That’s it, sweetheart, clench down hard on my cock,” Jon growled in her ear, and Sansa convulsed, her inner muscles trying to squeeze the delicious intrusion that already stretched her open without remorse.
Jon moved his hands to her tits, just the right size to fill his hands, and clutched them as his own climax slammed into him.
“Ah! I can feel your hot stuff coming out, it’s squirting inside me,” moaned Sansa.
Thing? Hot stuff? In the fragment of his mind that wasn’t drowning in pleasure, Jon wondered just what version of The Talk his stepmother had given the girl taking his dick like she was made for it. At least he could cum inside her without reservation; having helped Sansa study for her herbalist lessons, he knew she was licensed to brew moon tea.
Sansa pressed her forehead against Jon’s as she gasped for breath, and his tight grip on her breasts softened, gently cradling them in his big hands.
The rattling of chains broke their silence, and the boat jerked. Sansa sat bolt upright as the boat started to move.
“Fuck, we’re moving! You need to get off me!” Jon yelped.
Sansa nearly fell out to the boat, trying to disentangle herself from Jon and sit back down while shifting her panties back into place. At the same time, Jon was cursing beside her; Sansa caught a glimpse of his still-hard cock as he pushed it back into his jeans, and a swift after-shock of need ran through her. The dim light grew brighter, and Sansa gave up fumbling with her bra to yank her sweater down, hurriedly zipping up her hoodie, glad she’d borrowed it from Jon earlier in the evening and it was thus two sizes too big.
Their boat cruised through a curtain of strings of moss, and bumped into the dock. Blinking away after-images of the bright carnival lights, Sansa ignored the ride attendant’s droning voice.
Looking down at the bottom of the boat, Sansa’s eyes widened in horror at the obvious stains surrounding Jon’s fly. His leather jacket wasn’t long enough to cover them.
“Hang on, I need my bag!” she exclaimed. Bending forward, half-over Jon’s lap, Sansa groped for her messenger bag with one hand. With the other, she passed her fingertips, faintly glowing river-blue, over Jon’s crotch while she whispered a key-phrase.
Jon had to help her out of the boat, too – her legs could barely hold her up.
Jon’s fingers circled her wrist, as he led her away from the ride, the attendant’s smirk not hidden by the fangs of his B-movie Dracula costume.
“There’s bathrooms under the stairs to the grandstand, hardly anyone should be there until it’s time for the fireworks,” Jon told her. “Meet you outside once we’ve both cleaned up.”
Keeping his body turned away from the man at urinals, Jon shut himself into the farthest cubicle with a sigh of relief. What in the seven hells had Sansa been playing at, fondling his crotch like that in front of that vampire jerkass?
Jon grabbed a fistful of toilet tissue and looked down to assess the damage. In the bright light of the bathroom, he could see no tell-tale stains. Looking in the direction of the ladies’ room, Jon sent a mental apology to Sansa. She’d been using her favorite cleaning spell; if he’d been paying attention to her words instead of her touch he’d have recognised it. She’d certainly used it on Arya and Bran to help them avoid Catelyn’s wrath enough times.
In the only available stall in the ladies’ room, Sansa hung her messenger bag and hoodie on the hook on the back of the door. Reaching underneath her sweater, she pulled the cups of her bra back into place but couldn’t quite fasten it. With a sigh of exasperation, Sansa pulled off her sweater, static electricity making her hair crackle, and shrugged out of her bra.
Standing topless in the small concrete-walled building, Sansa felt her nipples harden again from the chilly air as she inspected her bra. She’d somehow managed to pop the stitching that kept the hooks in place. It would be quite uncomfortable if she tried to wear it now and she was sure to lose at least one set of hook-and-eyes. Folding the garment carefully, Sansa slipped it into the laptop sleeve of her messenger bag. Sitting down on the toilet, Sansa needed three lots of tissue to clean Jon’s spend from between her legs, and two castings of the ‘neaten-up’ spell to make her sodden panties wearable again.
Dragging her sweater back over her head, Sansa inhaled sharply as she tugged it into place over her hips. The soft wool felt so good against her still-sensitized breasts, and the place between her legs ached with longing. Even though she was sore down there from being forced wide open, she missed the fullness. Shrugging on the hoodie, she left it open. After washing her hands at the communal sinks, Sansa settled the strap of her messenger bag in a cross-body position between her breasts. Looking at her reflection, Sansa could see her hard nipples ever so slightly distorting the surface of her sweater, her unencumbered breasts framed by Jon’s hoodie at the sides and the bag-strap pulling the wool flat between them and taut across them. How easy would it be, for Jon to slide his hand under the hem of her sweater and feel her bare breasts?
Sansa smiled at her reflection as she smoothed the static from her hair.
When they met outside the bathrooms, Jon and Sansa were almost as immaculate as when they went into the Ghost tunnel. Maybe Jon’s curls were a little wilder, and Sansa’s lips were so red it looked like she’d been drinking the smoothie van’s ‘Bloody Brew’. But so what?
Jon’s eyes traced along the curves of his step-sister’s breasts, which he was certain were bare beneath the jack-o-lantern patterned sweater. He had to fight the urge to drop to his knees and bury his face between her thighs. He’d come inside her fifteen minutes ago, and all he could think of was getting Sansa somewhere private enough that he could see her naked before driving balls-deep inside her.
Sansa licked her lips as her gaze flickered from his eyes to his crotch and back, and Jon knew without a doubt that she wanted the exact same thing.
“We could say that you’re not feeling well. Theon can fit everyone else into his Rover, and we can take the car and find somewhere to park on the way home.”
Sansa shook her head, her face regretful. “If I’m sick, Robb would insist on taking me home himself. We’ll have to wait.”
“How long?” Jon asked, his voice gravelly with need.
“I’ll get Theon to invite Robb to stay over, so we can drive Bran and Arya home. Once they’re in bed, come to my room. I can close the curtains around my four-poster so no one can see in even if they open the door.”
“Keep the curtains open to the window,” Jon ran his eyes slowly, deliberately over her breasts, tracing every covered curve with his gaze. “I want to see you naked by moonlight.”
Sansa moved closer, until he could feel the heat of her body against the bare skin of his hand.
“Same here.”
ONE WEEK LATER
“I have to admit, Agatha, that ghost caves idea made us a mint. Maybe we should look into leveling up the spooky decorations, and offering it as a permanent alternative option? Could be in more demand than the Tunnel of Love for things like school carnivals.”
“Ha!”
“Agatha, what are you doing?”
“I’m doing the ‘Agatha was right and she’s telling you so!’ dance.”
“Well, could you please point your booty that way,” (point) “before you shake it?” (mutter) “Like I don’t see enough of your ass during sky-clad ceremonies.” (paper rustling) “The switch from romance to spooky takes, what, a day? And that’s mostly covered during set-up anyway. The only thing I don’t have a cost breakdown for is the spell-paint and spell-removal.”
(full-body pause) “Spell-removal?”
“Yeah, what did it cost to erase the lovey-dovey and horny spells? And what will it cost to re-apply them for the Tunnel of Love? It’s not like that shit works off decals.”
(silence)
“Agatha... you did remember to remove the lovey-dovey and horny spells, right?”
“Um...”
“RIGHT?”
DISCLAIMER: Neither Kathryn Hahn or Elizabeth Olsen were fan-cast in this fic. Aubrey Plaza maybe.
Title comes from the song ‘Counterpane’ by The Birthday Massacre; mostly because I didn’t like the original title, and I was listening to the song during final edits.

Ok, my fixation on the Magnus Archives isn’t going away any time soon, and I don’t want to jump into Protocol yet because I’m not ready to say goodbye to Jon and Martin. And I don’t want resent some fabulous new characters just because they’re not my boys.
Instead, I played one of my favorite games. Turn on an album and use my theater brain to figure out how I would stage it. I had a 3 hour drive for an out of town gig, so I listened The Mechanisms all the way there and back.
Each album got 2 listens in a row, one for vibes and appreciation, and one to dissect and take notes.
I think I like The Bifrost Incident the best. The songs are so good. A train set would be totally reasonable to build. Utterly destroying it a little bit harder, but I was thinking of a large scale regional production (something like Papermill, ART, La Jolla) where automation/projection/special effects aren’t an issue - so we could explode a train.
The problem is that it’s a train … In Space!
Outer Space and Theater feels so deeply incompatible. Not that people haven’t tried, I’m just not sure I’ve ever seen someone do it successfully (sorry Jonathan Larson) But that’s fine. This is a reimagining, it doesn’t have to be an outer space train, it can just be a train traveling through the BiFrost.
Ok, then I started thinking of design, maybe more of a steampunk aesthetic to go with the train. But hey, wait a minute, a pantheon of gods, in a tragic story about a doomed train, singing a little jazzy-folky, cabaret tunes.
Oh. Fuck. We’ve just invented Hadestown.
And every design and staging idea, I’ve been mulling over for the past hour drive vanishes in a puff of smoke. Nah, I can’t do a big intricate metal spiral staircase. That’s too fucking close to Hadestown.
It’s even got the narrator that pretends to be neutral, but is actually deeply emotionally invested in the story. And while I like Jonny’s vocals very very much it’s just mean, - for any performer - to allow the audience to draw a direct comparison to Andre DeShields.
So it’s with a heavy heart I put The Bifrost incident down and try the Snow White/Rose Red album Once Upon a Time (In Space). And unfortunately, I think we’ve hit market saturation of gritty warlike retellings of Grimm’s fairytales. I’m sure this absolutely fucking slapped in 2012, but in 2024 Disney’s Once Upon A Time has ruined the possibility for everyone. I tried so hard to imagine a design, but all I could see was either that or the new generation of Disney live action remix. Or even that one Huntsman movie with Kristen Stewart as Battle!Snow White.
I kind of love, weird, obscure shit, though, I could totally see this, finding a home in fringe circuit. Unfortunately, you need those institutional dollars if you want highly stylized, long wigs and battle armor and spaceships. It’s the intrepid black box theater troupe that gets a show that looks like this:
But with less tailoring.
So with a great sadness, I put Once Upon A Time In Space on the reject pile for my fantasy new musical development workshop.
The next time I have a long drive I’ll try out Ulysses Dies at Dawn but unfortunately, that would be a race against time since there are about four different odyssey themed musicals in development right now. One of which, epic, is getting a lot of traction online. And another will be coming to one of the LORT theaters I mentioned earlier. (Fucking call me back [Redacted] am I working on [redacted] or not UGH)
So, I’m about three years too late to win that game. [inset joke about Gatsby vs Gatbsy here].
All this is just fantasy of course, even if I did strike gold I would still need to convince actual-human Jonathan Sims to engage in a years long, time consuming, deeply frustrating development process, on the wrong continent. So for the absolutely microscopic overlap of my followers, who are both invested in The Magnus Archives/ The Mechanisms and also Musical Theater, I’m sorry to disappoint.
But it is nice to think about New Ideas tm for theater while making my yearly sacrifice to the gods of freelance employment and do another year of The Nutcracker. Oh well at least I’m not Christmas Caroling this year.

Hi, it’s me again, I had a couple of ideas, a couple are about possible bard reader, another is a musing for any reader, and the last is a general question.
1. Bards aren’t solely musicians, (from my dnd experience,) they also recite poems, ballads, and stories. So what if Reader tries to keep some of the more prone to boredom pilgrims by talking about various other myths and stories she might know? For example, she might’ve had an ancient Egypt or Greek mythology phase and still remembers a lot of those stories and when things are getting dull, she just goes like “Hey, wanna hear a funny story?” And then talk about Midas getting cursed with donkey ears. It manages to occupy the silence with something more interesting.
2. I’ve seen the Ruan being suggested as Reader’s instrument, but I wonder if anyone has considered the Xun. A xun is basically a small ceramic or wood instrument in the same family as the ocarina, but played slightly differently. They’re quite portable, and they could also make for a convenient “which one of these identical monkeys is Six Eared Macaque,” test. Nothing against the Ruan, just wanted to share. (Bonus: if the Reader likes the Zelda games, she could play some of those songs and most of them are either soothing or fun to dance to.)
2.5. Personally, I am an edgy girl, so if I chose to sing, it’d be like the early 2000s nu-metal songs from groups like Evanescence, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, and all of that other stuff, so that’d be embarrassing.
3. How are she and Tripitaka going to stay warm in the winter? There were points in the book where it was stated to be snowing or at least very cold, and idk if Guanyin would give them coats or if they’d have to get one of the other pilgrims to beg for a couple of used old coats. If Guanyin did give them some, it’d be neat to see like a feather cloak or something along those lines as feathers (down) are very good at insulating and keeping one warm.
4. Given all of the times when Tripitaka either punishes Monkey too severely and/or kicks him out, I can imagine the Six Eared Macaque arc being the one where reader genuinely loses her patience and slaps the monk across the face. She doesn’t really even say anything, just turns to leave and if they say anything about how they need her to guide them, “well, you can figure it out for yourself, because I’m done putting up with your ‘holier than thou’ bullshit.” Then goes to find Wukong. Depends on if you want the one she finds to be the real one, trying not to cry, or if she runs into his doppelgänger. (Suppose we’ll have to wait and see.)
Have a good Sunday, Skittle!

Hello again~
ok soooo i'm gonna admit that at first I had no idea what you were talking about but then I remembered that one of my followers did fanart with their version of Reader using a Ruan and I just wanna say that isn't canon it was just someone's art. anything that i post about ittw on here should be considered specifically not canon just for fun. i also won't answer any questions about what will happen in the future of any of my fics or au's (i know i'm a meanie😋). you can find all my ask rules on my pinned post 😊 (tho i might update them soon)
also everything about ittw was set in stone before i even began writing. nothing will change the plot even if i find an idea that i like (there was one idea from someone's fanart that i liked and i was thinking about using since it wouldn't effect the plot [after getting their permission] but i won't be doing that now because i don't want anyone to think i'm playing favorites or have a bunch of people try to get me to add their ideas as well. i've already had a bunch of people try to do that and it really stresses me out cause it's hard to stay nice in those situations) because of that (and i mean this in the nicest way possible i promise i'm not trying to sound like a jerk) i won't be taking any suggestions for plots unless i specifically ask for them🤗
I hope you have a great Sunday too, 🌺 Anon!

m, o, y, z for the fandom meme?
M - Say something genuinely nice about a ship that you don’t ship (or its shippers, or anything related to you)
Oh, a ship I don't ship is very different from a ship I dislike/hate 😂
I'm neutral on Trevor/Alucard, only because I don't really see Alucard as romantically involved with anyone, but they are very nice to each other and I love to hear them being so kind and respectful to each other in GoS, so if someone ships them romantically I perfectly understands where they're coming from <3
O - Choose a song at random, which ship or character does it remind you of
I'm very bad at this game lol. I don't choose songs: songs choose me. My music culture is too limited.
youtube
For example, my brain has decided that this is Isaactor + Hectaly and it won't hear otherwise ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)
I definitely learned quite a lot about Devil May Cry despite never touching a game myself :P
Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go (prompts optional but encouraged)
I never considered myself a shipper until recently because even back in the day, shippers used to be extremely aggressive... just in a "MY SHIP IS BETTER THAN YOURS AND YOU'RE A POOPYHEAD" way, not in a "I am literally going to send you pictures of real children being abused to punish you for the horrible crime of thinking a fictional 17 yo and a fictional 19 yo could be cute together" way.
And I'm like. I still don't get it what's about ships that makes people this rabid? What is the point of ship wars? What is the point of yearning for your OTP to be canon? Guys, you're just smacking dolls together. This is literally the kind of game 7 years old play, except that you're drawing a masterpiece for 15 hours or writing a short novella over it.
My point is, I wish I could spread the message to everyone that this is supposed to be fun. Something about two characters (or more lol) sparks an idea in your head, and then you share that idea with others finding some common grounds. That's it. That's shipping. It's not that deep. It doesn't say anything about the person, something something Umbridge effect and the other way around. There are posts circulating about little girls putting Barbies in horrible situations with a "aw aren't they much more creative than the Patriarchy assumes they are" undertone, and then the same people act like a slightly less vanilla ship is a prelude to IRL crimes.

🐾 Listen, when you see it, you will see JUST HOW MUCH EFFORT I PUT INTO THIS VIDEO and you will understand why I REALLY want you to watch this one's visualizer: https://youtu.be/t7Wh1pJXhOQ 🐾 Purchase this song here: https://daymusik.bandcamp.com/track/spider-dance-daymusik-remix-2022-edit ▶ After years of self-improvement, I have remixed Spider Dance from Undertale for the final time. I am happy with this, and I better be with how LARGE this project became! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ óÓÒò 🐾 Where to begin? Well, the song itself is more or less the same as the last iteration, just MUCH more polished, and more cohesiveness, and this time I actually had an idea of what I was going for. I decided to go for a pseudo-glitch hop style as one would with a remix of a video game soundtrack. Of course, @jacksepticeye is still in this version, or rather his amateur voice-over of Muffet's in-game speech. I decided not to say "featuring Jacksepticeye" this time since this time, I decided to try and "animate" Muffet speaking. He does make an appearance as himself at the end, but that's more of like a cameo/guest appearance rather than a feature. But what do I know? I just didn't want to put him on the face of this song because I want this song to speak for itself, not because Seàn is in it. This song, I will say, has been in development for a few years. The main growl bass instrument that comes in during the drop is one I made myself. I spent SO LONG trying to make a good sound, learning new things, trying different things, until finally, this sound worked well enough. Fun fact about the ritardando into the second drop near the end: I had to shorten the length of that. It still slows down to the same temp (maybe slower, I think), but the ritardando was shortened from, like 12 counts to 8 counts because my computer cannot process ritardandos. Whenever I try playing back the song to listen to it, the whole project lags and stutters IMMENSELY that I had to shorten it, but, of course, that did nothing for me. So that's why it's a fun fact. Because it was pointless. 🐾 Now, onto the video. Hoo boy. In keeping with my previous...whatever of adding simple video editing animations corresponding to the video game sound effects that are happening, I decided to do that again. But, like...different. And, uh...I think I went a little too... hard? Listen, I am typing this at 7 am on 14 January after having started the final editing process of this song at about 5 pm yesterday. I am VERY tired and my words are eluding me. But, long story short, for some reason, I decided to MANUALLY animate Muffet speaking. I'm almost 100% certain there was a much easier way to do that. I'm about 85% certain there is a way that I actually know how to do, but instead, I went manual. These aren't gifs, by the way. I wasn't synchronizing a video to the positions or anything. The last time I made the video for this, I downloaded ALL of the Undertale sprites -- all 6800+ of them -- just to make the video. So I did that again. Each frame isn't in a sprite sheet; they are individual images. I'm not going to go on about how tedious this project has been nor will I, again, expound on how much time and effort I waste on these videos. Instead, I decided to write down some numbers, because, undoubtedly, this is the largest project I have ever made. # of plugins: 174 # of [ZGameEditor Visualizer] layer: 47 # of mixer tracks: 94 # of channels used: 252 (mix of audio, automation, and midi clips) Overall time spent on this project: 67h Video file size: 2.67GB Audio file (wav/mp3) size: 48.8MB/6.59MB óÓÒò ▶ Bandcamp 🐾 https://daymusik.bandcamp.com ▶ MySpace 🐾 https://myspace.com/daymusik197 ▶ Twitter 🐾 https://www.twitter.com/daymusik/ ▶ everywhere else 🐾 https://linktr.ee/Daymusik ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Elevate Your Music with Studio-Grade, Song-Arranged Rhythmic Backing Tracks
The Power of Top Drummer Recordings
IBISWorld reported that Australia’s music industry contributes a whopping $1.0 billion to the national economy. That’s a massive number, and it means one thingthere’s a lot of competition out there. To stand out, you’ve got to bring your A-game.
“It’s all about capturing the vibe and delivering an authentic sound that resonates with listeners”, notes songwriter Olivia Jones of Author Flair—one of Australia’s trusted businesses in writing services.
Like how you want the right team to win a footy match, you need the correct elements to succeed in music. This is where song-arranged, rhythmic backing tracks created by top-tier drummers come into play.
These aren’t your run-of-the-mill computer-generated drum lines; we’re talking about the pulsating rhythms and heartbeats captured by absolute drumming legends.
Why song-arranged, studio-grade drummer backing tracks make a difference.
1. Authentic Feel
Using this quality of recordings and musicianship brings your music an organic, “real-life” feel that programmed drums can never capture. It’s like choosing between frozen lasagne and your grandma’s homemade recipe. Which one would you prefer?
Actual drum recordings bring inspiration and authenticity to your music, making it more relatable.
2. Versatility Across Genres
Using actual drum recordings adds depth and versatility regardless of genre, from rock to jazz, blues to pop.
A top-notch drummer’s unique skills and flair will adapt to multiple styles, offering a broad range of sounds.
3. Unmatched Quality
The sound quality of a studio-recorded drum track is as good as it gets. It has clarity, depth, and nuance that can lift the overall quality of any song.
Think of it as upgrading from a good old pair of thongs to a high-end pair of leather boots. The difference is clear and instantly noticeable.
Ways to Incorporate Song-based, Studio-quality Drummer Backing Tracks into Your Fully Mastered Music
Here are some ways to elevate your music with song-arranged, studio-grade rhythmic backing tracks.
1. Choosing Tracks
You’ll find many platforms where you can purchase or license recordings from established drummers. Listen to previews, read reviews, and seek expert advice. The aim is to find and enrich tracks that align with your musical vision.
2. Some Technical Know-How
Here’s where it gets a bit geeky, but stick with me.
Once you have your chosen drum track, you can use music software to blend it with your other instrumentals and vocals. This process is called “sequencing.”
Arranging is like cooking; each ingredient must be added at the right time and amount to create a delicious meal. Sequencing is just mixing all your musical ‘ingredients’ together.
3. Fine-tuning and Mastering
This stage is like putting the icing on your cake. It’s where you make minor adjustments to how the tracks interact with one another and the elements of your song.
You might tweak the volume, adjust the timing, or add special effects. Your goal is to make all the tracks fit together and make the whole shine.
Elevate Your Sound with Song-Arranged, Studio-Grade Drum Tracks!
Music is an ever-evolving field; staying ahead often requires thinking outside the box.
Using song-arranged, studio-grade rhythmic backing tracks can give your music that competitive edge, making it resonate with a broader audience.

It’s hard to separate the effects of Ostagar from the rest of the events in-game that are tied up with Fereldan politics. Having recently played it there are a lot of things that could have gone differently, but in most cveases without Loghain’s distrust of Orlesians it would likely have gone better. For a start, it’s the Orlesian Grey Wardens specifically that are being held at the border, not the army itself, but Loghain vetoes any help from them, despite them being a more established (and presumably better equipped) chapter of Wardens because to him and Orlesian is always an Orlesian no matter what other loyalties they claim. So that’s one less significant force to make use of.
Then there are the armies of Redcliffe and Amaranthine. Loghain is directly responsible for Eamon not joining the force at Ostagar, and it’s strongly implied that the only reason Howe moved against the Couslands instead of taking his army to Ostagar was because someone powerful was going to protect him from the consequences (and it certainly wouldn’t have been Cailan). Both of these series of events happen before Ostagar and suggest Cailan’s death was at least partly premeditated, because Eamon and Bryce are arguably Loghain’s biggest political rivals in the Landsmeet, and the result is two more armies that aren’t available to fight the darkspawn.
The other major problem is that nobody except Duncan seems willing to believe that this is a true Blight. There’s a very 1914 “one good cavalry charge and we’ll be home in time for Christmas” attitude to what’s going on. If Duncan’s warnings had been taken more seriously, maybe the political machinations would have been put on hold to face the bigger threat. As it is, withdrawing his soldiers didn’t really put Loghain ahead, because letting the king die in questionable circumstances causes a civil war that weakens Ferelden significantly, and meanwhile the darkspawn are given an opportunity to regroup.
As for the tactics in the battle itself, it’s difficult to say when most of what we see is a cinematic and we have to lose for plot reasons, but on the whole, it looks like a solid plan: the royal army has a fortified position on the high ground, controlling a narrow pass to funnel the darkspawn into a killing field and (if Loghain had done his part) catch them in a pincer movement that would cut off the retreat. Considering how the darkspawn weren’t expected to take the Tower of Ishal and that we don’t know the exact size of the horde, it’s not possible to say for certain whether there would have been victory, but with a significantly smaller force, tactics become all the more important. Even coming in late, Loghain could have made a difference, and there’s references later that his soldiers knew this, because at least one speaks out about the retreat, and Loghain has him disappeared. aside from anything else, the soldiers in the main army were expecting reinforcements when the beacon was lit, and when they didn’t come, the confusion and despair would have given the darkspawn an edge. We even see it in Duncan when he realises they’ve been left ot fend for themselves.
Having said that, Cailan would have been better off away from the front lines. Yes Loghain tried to talk him out of it, and called him foolish, but I always wonder how much of his recklessness is spurred by the need to live up to the beacon of kingship Maric represented - a king is supposed to lead, a king is supposed to be a warrior, a king is supposed to inspire tales and songs. And yet even in the brief interactions we see between them, Loghain makes it clear he doesn’t measure up. There’s no doubt he regrets Cailan’s death, but it’s debateable how much he also thinks of it as a regrettable necessity.
In the end, Ostagar is a perfect storm of human pettiness, pride, and paranoia, and an overwhelming force that shows no mercy to those in its path.
curious on your ostagar opinions as a player—i’m personally on the side of “ostagar wasn’t anyone’s fault, including loghain’s, though some people cailin couldve minimized the loss better than they did”, (though i still hold loghain very accountable for the way he handles the ferelden civil war and the slavery), but i know you spared him in your main playthrough
ostagar’s an interesting one and it’s taken me a while to develop my thoughts on it. battles are by nature complicated and chaotic and hard to pin down to one factor—there’s a reason real medieval war leaders tended to avoid them if possible—but here’s some thoughts
1. the push to confront the darkspawn as quickly as possible, even when troops from amaranthine, redcliffe, orlais, etc. had not yet arrived. both cailan and loghain seem responsible for this. cailan is reckless and confident, unconcerned with the idea of facing the darkspawn without reinforcements, and loghain actively vetoes the idea of waiting for orlesian reinforcements. as i recall it’s primarily duncan who wants to wait but the grey wardens are on shaky footing and he doesn’t have the influence to press that. if it hadn’t been for loghain’s insistence, cailan might well have waited for the orlesians, but if cailan hadn’t called for the orlesians, maybe loghain would be the one counselling to wait for redcliffe and amaranthine. neither should loghain’s fears of the orlesians be written off as unreasonable imo like yes his choice here went badly but it wasn’t based on unfounded prejudice and there’s no way to know what might have happened
2. the beacon was delayed and mistimed. this isn’t anyone’s fault except the darkspawn. alistair and the warden were supposed to light the beacon at a particular time, but instead of that being an easy job, the tower has been suddenly overrun by the time they get there. alistair comments as you fight through the tower that you’ve probably missed the signal and should light the beacon just, like, as soon as you get up there. this chaos must have affected decisions taken on the ground and, as the main change from the original battle plan, was possibly why the beacon was delayed enough that loghain considered there no longer to be any chance of saving cailan
3. alistair says at flemeth’s hut that he has no idea why loghain would turn away, and that the king’s forces “had nearly defeated” the darkspawn. i’ll make allowances for his perspective being somewhat affected by the losses he’s just suffered, but his judgements are generally very good on this kind of thing and i trust them. i don’t see any reason to write this off, especially combined with other witness accounts. i do believe him that there was a real possibility to win here
4. at flemeth’s hut, all anyone can guess is that loghain wanted the throne—men’s hearts hold shadows darker than any tainted creature, and all that—but there’s no sign of this in loghain later in the game, although supporters of his like howe may have wanted that as an end goal. there’s nothing ambitious in loghain, there’s no intent to betray. loghain claims he remembers “a fool’s death and a hard choice” and that “the darkspawn would either have had him or have had us all”. it seems odd that he consistently blames cailan’s foolishness when it was a battle plan he had agreed to and nothing really changes on cailan’s part, but cailan’s recklessness and lack of care for battle plans is thoroughly set up in the ostagar prologue and i imagine it affected how he was handling things during the battle and also the aforementioned failures to get all of ferelden’s forces there in time. nonetheless my point is that this was purely a tactical decision on loghain’s part, and he regretted cailan’s loss (even if he blamed cailan for it). so either he genuinely thought the battle could not be won, or that it would mean enough losses that it would not be worth winning. and i trust his judgements too—battle leadership and strategy is his whole skillset
SO where does all that leave us. i think ultimately my perspective on the battle, which i think gives it a reasonable balance and a reasonable way to argue both sides, is that if loghain had followed the plan they would have won and cailan and duncan might have lived. thus, loghain can be considered responsible. however it would have left ferelden with significantly higher casualties. loghain’s men would have been lost as well as the king’s. ferelden would have been in an even worse state than it already was, and that with a) a blight still ongoing, since the archdemon was not present at ostagar, and b) a whole orlesian army of reinforcements on the way, with no-one to stop them at the border, and who with ferelden’s defences completely crippled might well fight the darkspawn just like the grey wardens wanted... and then find reason to stick around. celene was obviously trying to regain orlesian influence in ferelden with her letters to cailan, and there are several pieces of minor dialogue in da2 which openly threaten the possibility of orlais retaking ferelden in the aftermath of the blight’s destruction. could they really resist the temptation if their armies had the excuse to already be there? ferelden hasn’t even been free for as long as it was under orlesian rule
(as a side note, me sparing loghain in my main playthrough isn’t me being a Loghain Was Right truther and certainly doesn’t mean i or my warden absolve him of his actions during the blight, especially towards the alienage. ‘is loghain right/morally salvageable?’ isn’t really the decision my warden makes at the landsmeet; it’s ‘is it more important to kill a man for doing evil or to let him live to do good?’. it’s ‘is it more important to publicly make a peaceful compromise or to make a strong statement against my enemies and in favour of my allies?’ more personally to my warden, it’s ‘i have fought so hard all this time so that everyone will know someone like me can save ferelden, but how will the history books remember me if i become the elven mage who killed the hero of river dane?’ those are all far more interesting and relevant considerations to explore for me narratively than assigning blame)
#long post#dragon age meta#i played ostagar again recently and let me tell you i have Thoughts#strong macbeth vibes from the whole thing#loghain's focus is always on protecting ferelden#but he's so certain the threat is always from orlais#he misses the more immediate threat right on his doorstep#there are a lot of threads all tangled up in the battle#which makes it a great inciting incident for the landsmeet arc later in the game

Hi again!
What does an Akedemi Halloween look like?
🕸 🕷 HALLOWEEN AKEDEMI HIGH HEADCANONS 🕷 🕸
They aren’t allowed to dress up on Halloween :(
But since people are allowed to wear makeup, lots come to school with themed makeup.
They also wear accessories such as demon horns - although the teachers don’t approve.
The occult club becomes more friendly (since they can fit in) and does ghost hunting with anyone who would like to join them.
The cooking club only hands out decorated cupcakes or candy, to celebrate Halloween around the school.
The gardening club carves pumpkins after school instead of usual activities.
The gaming club only play horror games or games with a Halloween update.
The science club specialises in Halloween sfx, by making them more realistic or have certain effects. For example, makeup that turns red when it is hot.
The sports club doesn’t really change anything, but they decorate the hall with banners even though they aren’t allowed to.
The drama club makes homemade horror films and performances that people can watch after school on Halloween.
The art club create horror paintings and put them on display in the art room.
The photography club finally does some photography, and takes pictures of the parts of the school that are celebrating Halloween. The members also join the occult club for ghost hunting.
The music club makes Halloween songs or lyrics, and plays them at lunch and after school.
The student council do not tell off anyone who decorates rooms or wears makeup.
The bullies only post about Halloween on their social media.
The delinquents decorate around the furnace - but swear that they didn’t do it.
Many people decorate their lockers with pumpkin stickers or small banners.
Kuudere changes all the books in the library to horror books, and decorated the bookcases.
Even traditional students like Mina Rai participate in celebrations with their friends - though they don’t believe in it.
Ayano could use Halloween as an opportunity to kill, since people would think the blood was decoration, or low sanity being part of a costume. She could get away with so much on Halloween.
——————————————————————————————————
Thank you for requesting! I was going to do Halloween headcanons but couldn’t think of any ideas, so this is great timing for me! Feel free to request at any time!

I’m going to have to do these until they finish this dang castle, aren’t I? Favourite moments of Joe and Cleo’s paper model stream Part 4!
--
Cleo (after Zloyxp tried to raid her stream): You should be able to raid me Zloy. In case you’re wondering. You should be able to. If you cannot, well…Cam will check it out.
Joe: Yeah, you can turn off being raidable. But, Zloy, that makes me feel way better about you raiding me knowing you tried to raid Cleo and it failed. Thanks.
Cleo: *laughing*
Joe (bitter): Thanks a lot for that. My—my heart, uh, so full of so many things. Right now.
Cleo: *wheezing*
Zloyxp (in chat): Pix doesn’t play favourites, I do.
--
Joe: *experiencing technical difficulties*
Cleo: You doing ok Joe?
Joe: …Umm…nooo…
--
Joe: I usually do a pumpkin carving stream every year.
Cleo: I knew about that, I knew about that. (reading chat) I’m not going to buy a gourd and carve it for you Cam. No. I mean, we were watching something called like “the greatest pumpkin carvers” or something like that the other day.
Joe: Oh, then you’re familiar with my work.
SILENCE
Cleo: …You can’t see my face.
Joe: *laughing* No, I can’t, but I’m sure it’s—it’s—
Cleo: It’s definitely a picture.
--
Cleo: Now comes the bending of all the little flaps.
Joe (singing to the tune of the Monster Mash): She bent the flaps!
Both singing: She bent the castle flaps!
Cleo: The castle flaps!
Joe: …They’re like folding tabs!
Cleo: *laughing* I can’t do any more. I wish I could. Just not as fast at that as you are.
Joe: Ah, you know, it’s just practice Cleo.
Cleo: Yeah, you say that, but—but you’d have to have a situation to practice in?
Joe: I mean, if you wanted to do a songwriting stream one day, we could go through things like how to brainstorm, how to determine what’s a viable vs. an inviable idea. How to, you know, kind of workshop things--
Cleo: Joe, I’ve listened to some of your songs. I don’t think you know what a viable and inviable idea is.
Joe: I didn’t say commercially viable.
--
Joe: *singing the entirety of Weird Al -The Saga Begins*
Joe: (cutting himself off) Anyway, I’ll stop.
Cleo: That’s ok!
Joe: Cause you’re streaming. If you were not streaming, I would—… (Trails off)
Cleo: I’m ok with you doing that, its fine. It’s—It’s fine. It’s fine.
Joe: *immediately continues singing*
Cleo (15 seconds later): *quietly joins in*
--
Cleo (reading chat): How old do I think Joe is? Joe is about 6 years younger than I am. Ish.
Joe (knowing exactly what he’s doing): Oh! So kind of comparable to Anakin and Padme in Star Wars. *trying not to laugh* For those of you keeping track at home.
Cleo: *Throwing her knife down* Really? Really? That’s what you’re doing to me?
Joe: *uncontrollable laughter*
Cleo: Yeah, yeah. Are we—are we feeding the shippers again today, Joe? Is that what we’re doing?
Joe: I mean, I think technically we were already doing that by singing the Star Wars song at all. So I was just gonna, like, lampshade it. Like, I don’t feel like that’s more fuel on the fire. I feel like that’s just a shade on the lamp.
--
Cleo (reading chat): “I’ve always thought of Joe and Cleo as being more like Jar Jar and Padme” *laughing uncontrollably*
Joe (Jar Jar voice): Me’s a Joe Joe Hills!
Cleo: *physically choking*
Joe: You know though, you laugh now, but when I’m in the senate—
Cleo: When you’re in the senate, I’ll be dying of complications during childbirth, that’s what’ll be happening.
Joe: *trying not to laugh* Yeah, it’s like “we can replace a severed hand, but god forbid you have two children at once!”
--
Cleo (about her cat): She’s just howling so I pay attention to her. I mean, I get that. Someone’s ignoring you.
Joe: Oh, is that why you’re always shrieking during Hermits Helping Hermits!
LONG SILENCE...
Cleo: ...We’re not friends anymore Joe.
--
Cleo (reading chat): “Been listening to Cleo threaten people since 2016.” *laughing* Yeah, that’s—that’s, that’s kind of a thing.
Joe: But it goes way further back than that.
Cleo: *laughing* How long have we known each other now?
--
Joe: I’m getting a lot of messages saying I have nice hands. Feel free to be more descriptive than using the word “nice”. You know, you can say “elegant”, you can say—
Cleo: “nice” is a nothing word. It means nothing!
Joe: Yeah, nice is—nice is a little bit weak. So, chat, you know—
Cleo: UP YOUR ROMANCE GAME!
--
Joe (dejected): No, it’s fine. It’s fine…
Cleo: *laughing* “It’s fine!” He says through tears.
Joe (with anguish): I’m not gonna cry, because the model will get wet.
--
Joe: We just got a tip from Cameron who says “your hands look delicious”. Thank you very much Cameron. That’s going to put us 2 away from our next face camera expansion.
Cleo: That’s a very zombie emotion. Well done.
Joe: Oh! I thought it was—uh, ok. It’s a zombie thing, nevermind!
Cleo (quickly): *laughing* It’s not! It’s not! it’s no—!
Joe: Well, you know, some people—
--
Cleo (receiving a mysterious package from Corpse mid stream): Should I open this on stream Corpse, is the question.
Joe: It’s like, do I need to set the mature filter on? Are there a lot of pictures of hunky boys in here?
SILENCE
Cleo (holding a mug with a picture of Garrus in front of the camera): Wow… *wheeze laughing* It says “Garrus Vakarian is my space boyfriend” *laughing continues*
Joe: I don’t know what that means, but ok.
Cleo: This is the character that I’ve been romancing in Mass Effect.
Joe: Oh, so there is a picture of a hunky boy!
Cleo (trying to justify herself): It—i—hunky boy alien, yeah, but—
Joe (not buying it at all): Uh huh
(Cleo’s partner in chat: Imma fight a mug.)
--
Joe (responding to chat): Cleo is in England right now, and I am in Nashville Tennessee. So, we’re both on a call together.
Cleo: Yeah…it’s probably safer, because if we were to meet the world would possibly end. Just out of spite.
Joe: Yeah, it’s one of those, uh—
Cleo: Demonic pacts. It’s one of those demonic pact things.
--
Cleo (in response to Joe’s suggestion regarding her itchy face): I mean, I appreciate your solutions, I’m not sure they are actually solutions. More “solutions”.
Joe: Well, I mean, usually when you air quotes the word “solution”, it’s like you’re indicating like, yah know “oh, you cut the break lines” type thing. Which is not how far I was going.
Cleo: You basically suggested getting a really sharp mammal. And putting it near my face.
Joe: To snuggle!
--
Cleo: Because everything has to be chroma green. Because how else would Joe be obnoxious to people if it wasn’t the chroma green?
Joe: Yeah I know! Also I got new glasses! *giggling*
Cleo: You’re very pretty Joe.
Joe (adorably): Thank you Cleo.

Hi! Can I request headcanons for dating marcus (deadly class)? Thank you
HEADCANONS FOR DATING MARCUS LOPEZ ARGUELLO
A/N: Just a head’s up, I got a little carried away, so this is kinda long lol. Also, sorry this took forever! I’ve been suuuuuper busy lately :/ I almost had it done before work picked back up, but I couldn’t figure out how to end it. Anyway, I hope you like it!!
Before the two of you started dating, Marcus had no idea that you liked him, and for good reason
You did such a good job with hiding your feelings that sometimes even you forgot they were there, which was kind of the whole point
With girls like Saya and Maria around, sending out mixed signals and dropping subtle hints that they liked Marcus, too, it was intimidating
Add Marcus’s constant cynicism about love, and life in general, into the mix, and it was clear the chances of him actually liking you back were next to nothing
So, you knew it was probably for the best to move on
You used the “if you ignore it, it’ll go away” approach in the hopes that if you simply didn’t acknowledge your feelings, the problem would disappear
All this did, however, was create a whole new issue
Somewhere along the way, you’d begun to take the thought process of ‘ignoring your crush’ too literally
You and Marcus were best friends, so when, out of the blue, you stopped talking to him, he could tell something was up
He had no clue what, though
Naturally, he assumed it was something he had done
Marcus started asking around among your mutual friends to see if they knew anything, but they were all just as out of the loop as he was
You hadn’t told anyone about your repressed feelings for Marcus, and you had no intention of letting the secret slip any time soon, but accidents happen
The truth came out one night during a game of truth or dare when you were up on the roof smoking with the Rats
Your confession came tumbling out quicker than you could even think about reeling the words back in
“You hear that, Romeo?” Billy asked, elbowing Marcus in the ribs. “Y/N’s got the hots for you”
All Marcus could do was laugh nervously as he looked down at his feet, refusing to meet your gaze
To your relief, no one brought it up again for the rest of the game
When the next day rolled around and your crush on Marcus still wasn’t the topic of conversation, you started to think that you were in the clear
Maybe they’d all been too stoned to remember when they’d woken up that morning
Your hopes were shattered by the late afternoon
As you left the bathroom, Marcus spotted you from across the hall
He quickly rushed over and caught you by the elbow, dragging you back through the doorway
“Relationships aren’t really my thing,” he said
Marcus sounded like he had more to say, but before he got the chance, you cut him off
“It’s fine,” you said. “I get it”
“No, no. I mean, I like you, Y/N, really. I just don’t wanna mess it up”
You couldn’t stop the smile that spread across your face even if you tried
“You’re not gonna mess it up”
Before either of you could say more, the bathroom door opened and Petra walked in
She glanced between the two of you knowingly
“Hate to break this up, but if I hold this piss in any longer, I’ll explode”
With that, she pushed past you both, effectively ruining the moment
It didn’t take long after that for you and Marcus to make your relationship official
‘Official’ is a bit of a loose term in this case
For the most part, both of you kept the fact that you were dating fairly under the radar for fear of what others would do with that information
In a place like King’s Dominion, something as small as caring for another person beyond using them as an ally was seen as a weakness that could and would be used against you, and the last thing either of you wanted was to be put in a situation where you were pitted against each other
Of course, there were several instances when one (or both) of you nearly blew your cover
Such as in Martial Arts class
Instead of fighting you, Marcus would try to cop a feel
You’d quickly smack his hand away
“Miss De Luca’s right there!”
“She’s not looking”
In defense of both of you, though, a class in which hormonal teenagers are asked to pair themselves up and wrestle is practically an invitation to break the ‘no sex’ rule
The other classes you shared weren’t any better
Master Lin caught you and Marcus staring at each other instead of paying attention on multiple occasions, earning both of you a smack from his cane
Although Marcus was somewhat known for his smart mouth and talking back to authority, he knew better than to challenge Lin, not mention that if he did, he’d risk exposing the two of you in the process
So, Marcus bit back his insults and held in his tirade until the two of you were safely locked away in his dorm room
“He had no right to hit you like that”
“I’m fine,” you assured him, shoving another tissue up your nose to stop the bleeding. “Besides, he does it to everyone”
“That still doesn’t give him the right”
“Next time, I’m gonna stick that cane right up his ass”
Marcus wanted to shield you from all the violence at King’s, but when it was coming from teachers, there wasn’t much he could do about it
If it was a fellow student pushing you around, on the other hand, there was no holding him back
You loved how protective Marcus was of you, but sometimes you worried that he’d get carried away
Marcus always made sure you were never around to witness the fights take place, but the scrapes and bruises on his face that hadn’t been there when you saw him that morning were all the proof you needed
In such cases, you would insist on patching him up afterwards
The first few times this happened, Marcus was embarrassed by all the attention you were giving him
After a while, though, he grew to love the feeling of having someone fuss over him, especially if it was you
It was nice to have someone care about him for a change
You weren’t much of a fighter, but making sure he didn’t get Tetanus was your way of looking out for him
When you and Marcus weren’t getting into trouble, you were actually a pretty cute couple
Your roommates became accustomed to the two of you being a package deal, which often meant sneaking into each other’s rooms after lights out
Sometimes, it was to make out, but other times, it was so you could have late night conversations that you didn’t get the chance to have during the day
The topics of these conversations varied—they could be deep and philosophical (which was Marcus’s favorite kind), an opportunity to open up to each other about yourselves and your pasts, a time to plot someone’s death (usually only theoretically), or simply joking around
After especially long days, you would accidentally drift off in the middle of these nightly chats with your head on Marcus’s chest, but he never minded
He’d pull the covers up on your side and wrap his arms more tightly around you
While both of you were perfectly capable of pulling all-nighters, whenever you fell asleep, Marcus was never far behind
The sound of your evened-out breathing was like a lullaby to him, so it was safe to say that his sleep schedule drastically improved after the two of you started dating
You’d found that you slept better with Marcus, too, so on the few nights you spent apart, you’d doze off listening to the mixtapes he’d made you in your Walkman, which were full of your favorite songs and songs that reminded him of you (though, these had quickly become your favorites, too)
It was rare that the two of you weren’t together, though
Even during the day, you and Marcus were practically joined at the hip
At lunch, you would hold hands under the table and share food
Of course, this always opened the door for plenty of teasing from your friends, especially Lex
“While you’re at it, why don’t you chew the food up for each other and pass it back and forth like little birds?”
“Fuck off, Lex”
It was always in good fun, though
Actually, the other Rats were relieved when the two of you finally got together because the weird tension that had been brewing leading up to that point went away, meaning group hangouts could carry on normally
They could overlook you sitting in Marcus’s lap if it meant you weren’t being distant and secretive
Just like they pretended not to notice when you showed up to class wearing each other’s blazers by mistake after spending the night together
Or walking in late looking ✨especially disheveled✨
All in all, you and Marcus are King’s Dominion’s cutest couple™️ that only, like, five other people know about, but still-

Asks Compilation 17/5
I do wonder - if you just drew a simple shape, like a circle, line or triangle, what would it default to? The ability to draw what you have in mind is extremely useful, but random experimentation might be even better, since it can give you access to items you’ve never seen or heard of.
Happens a lot to me. I have a bit of a blind spot when it comes to celebrities - even internationally famous ones!
That puts Witch of Doom into the list of top contenders. I like it best out of the three, just for the image it evokes - but I’m not committing to a Title till we get more Class/Aspect lore.
I’m looking forward to exploring the connotations of each Title - the fact that livebloggers, as a group, seem to gravitate to a few specific Aspects would suggest that the system is very clear about what traits go where.
Bleh. I think I over-rely on the in-browser spellchecker, which doesn’t catch missing or out-of-place words.
Oh, are there regular updates of SBaHJ? I just double-checked, and it seems like I have the same 50ish comics that were there originally.
The comic’s memes are used pretty effectively in Homestuck proper - unlike many other series that employ meme humor, it doesn’t seem gratuitous, probably because these aren’t memes I’m already overfamiliar with.
Heh. Honestly, I’m only half-serious with the Cal hate. I was serious at the start, because he was this creepy doll being used to torment a kid, but due to recent developments that’s no longer the case.
I still don’t understand his role in the story, but on a meta level it honestly is pretty entertaining seeing him constantly return in more and more bizarre fashions.
I’m so happy that this is my zodiac troll, you have no idea.
Can’t wait to see what his role in the story is - if I were to hazard a wild guess, I’d say he works either for or against Trollplanet’s iteration of Skaianet.
I’d be shocked if he didn’t. Hell, he’s probably one of those programmers with an unhinged hardware setup. You just know the guy’s production rig has two keyboards, one for each hand.
Anomymous said: Rose and Dave: Shut up and jam is the infamous page you've been told about that resulted in a musician's work being removed from the comic. The story goes that Bill Bolin (the musician) created a series of WIP tracks, and uploaded them to the private forum where the music team worked. He labelled them as WIP, but uploaded them into the thread for completed songs accidentally. Hussie, wanting to surprise Bolin (in a pleasant way) used all of these songs in the flash without telling him.
Bolin proceeded to have a spiteful meltdown on the main MSPA forums. Hussie called him unprofessional, which resulted in the iconic line 'YOU DO NOT HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO TALK PROFESSIONALISM WITH ME' accompanied by a grainy webcam screenshot of Bolin flipping the camera off. This is when all ties were cut. As funny as this moment is in isolation (it has been memed to hell and back) in recent years people have come around to accepting that Bolin had a point.
Without wanting to get into later drama, no matter where you fall, it's fair to say Hussie's mismanaged a few projects in his time. Gankra, the coder of the games, recounted a time she begged Hussie in tears to give one more day to finish a project, because Hussie was impatient and wanted to charge ahead. Hussie worked at an insane pace and would put a lot of pressure on people to keep up, probably unintentionally. He's not a cautious person and that has landed him in hot water a few times.
So, the only out-of-comic drama I’ve been aware of up to this point is the obvious one. Hussie once raised an absolutely obscene amount of money to make a Homestuck game - a game that has not, as of yet, been completed.
I don’t feel like I know enough about any of this to offer an opinion, but I will say this: Skills like project management and business acumen aren’t trivial. I know people who believe you can wing it. You can’t.
Dave thinks that ‘Lalonde’ means Rose is French, and he’s trying to learn to rap in her ‘native language’, so she really gets the nuance of his irony.
Thank you! I hope my blogging lack-of schedule doesn’t throw you off. Rest assured, we will be finishing Homestuck - I’m in too deep to stop now!
[ examples :D - Cat ]
Jade’s shirt better change symbols, or I want my money back!
Haha, I didn’t think about that.
They’ve gotta be floppy, right? They’re probably made of some synthetic material, since they come from an actual jester doll. I doubt Jack can dismiss prototyping effects at will - he’d give himself back his arm if he did - so he probably did have to awkwardly force them through offscreen, right in front of poor WV.
Yeah, unless Deuce and/or Boxcars are faking it - doubtful, since we’ve been in their heads - then Jack and Droog are the ones with the brain cells. Now that Jack’s on a power trip, Droog seems to be the one taking point.
There’s chance he could get his hands on a Ring or Scepter without Jack knowing. I wonder how loyal Droog really is?

how the evans would act when they have a crush on u ^^
How The Evans Act When They Have A Crush On You & How They React When You Tell Them You Like Them Too
Award for the longest title goes tooooo... me!
JAMES SUCKS BUT I MAKE UP FOR IT BY DOING BOTH KYLE’S AND A DETAILED KIT
Two other requests-
Could I please request how the Evans would react to their best friend (reader) admitting they're in love with them?
Heyo! I’m not sure how this would go but how would the Evan’s react to a nervous/insecure reader confessing to them?
-I hope this is satisfactory, even though I don’t think it’s what you two wanted<3
Enjoy! :)
--
Tate
-Would always just be interested in you
-Wanting to help you, watch you, talk to you, just constantly be around you
-But he’d also be insecure whether he was annoying you, so occasionally he would make himself invisible and just watch you
-Whatever hobbies you had, he’d love to watch you do them, paint, draw, write, play games
-If you played any instrument he would love to lay on your bed and listen to you, no matter how good or bad you were
-He would leave little sweet messages on the chalkboard and leave little post-it notes for you to find
-They would have fun little facts about birds or other trivial stuff but you would find them cute
-The occasional fact about something romantic, like ‘Every time you kiss somebody, your heart beat increases by 10-15 beats per minute’
-He might go a little far and leave a message like ‘Your dress looked pretty’, which you would find creepy since you didn’t know Tate was a ghost
Kit
-He thought of ways to tell you how he felt but because it seemed like your family was gonna live in the murder house for a while, cause you were all settling in well, he didn’t want to risk losing his friendship with you, since you were the only ghost with whom he really got along
-You walked down to the basement and said his name in a sing song voice, “Tateeeee”, “Come out come out wherever you are!”
-He showed up and you asked him if he wanted to go out on a real date
-He was obviously nervous, because you didn’t know yet that he was a ghost, but when he hesitated and you looked upset, he said yes right away
-You ran up and hugged him and kissed him on the cheek, making him blush and laugh, and whilst you were at school, he got some things ready and got candles and a table cover so make your kitchen look like a restaurant
-He ordered McDonalds delivery and got your chicken nuggets under a serving platter for effect
- “We are dining on, nuggets of the chicken”
-Although you were a little disappointed and wanted to go out on a real date with him, you found his effort cute
-He definitely played footsie with you under the table the whole date
-Definitely walked you to your room
- “Well… this is me…”
- “Just wanted to make sure you got home safe”
-Kissed you
oh my god I got so carried away
-You would first meet Kit when you first come and move to Massachusetts
-One day you want to venture out and get an taxi to go to town, only a few minutes later to realise you don’t have your wallet
-You awkwardly tell the driver that if takes you back home quickly, you can get money and you will pay him right away
-But since Boston men aren’t usually so sweet, he just kicks you out, leaving you to wander the motorway alone late at night, far away from your home and hoping to quickly find somewhere to go
-Eventually you stumble upon a gas station, and as you walk up, a hand appearing on your shoulder makes you automatically turn around and push whoever touched you to the ground
-The man in blue uniform gets up slowly with his hands up defensively, “Hey hey, didn’t mean to startle ya, miss”
-You apologise, feeling stupid for this kind of encounter, but he doesn’t seem to mind as much as you’d think
- “It’s always nice to see a woman able to protect herself”, he smiles
-He offers to drive you home, and you thank him dearly, explaining to him that you don’t have a car yet, having only just moved here
-He offers to take you to buy one, knowing an awful lot about cars, and to convince you further, tells you that any man working in a car salon will try to sell a single lady a piece of junk for a high price
-You agree, thinking that the offer is sweet, and he takes you to buy yourself a car, to make the date even more fun, Kit tells you to pretend you’re an old married couple
- “Miss Walka over here needs a car, good Sir”
-At some point while looking at cars, Kit holds your hand and you don’t even notice
-He negotiates a good deal with the salesman, and you get a car together
- “Your husband just got you an awfully good deal, Madam, he’s a man who deserves a good meal and a cold beer if I’ve ever seen one”, the salesman laughs, signing the last of the papers before handing Kit the keys to your car. “Oh, he’ll get more than that”, you say to tease Kit, before smiling at him sweetly. Kit blinks at you, before turning back to the salesman and shaking his hand. As the two of you walk away, Kit looks at you in disbelief, the thought of your dirty words clearly plastered in his mind. “Did ya mean what you said back there?”. He says, as he opens the car door for you. “Whatever do you mean?”, you act stupid. “I was just pretending to be your wife, Mr Walka”
-When he has a crush on you, he gives you sooo many compliments
-Little dirty innuendos
-Would definitely call you and talk to you late night on the phone until one of you fell asleep (house phone if they had them)
-He’s the kind of person to tell you that he got a visit from a cute dog earlier at the gas station and it made him think of you
Kyle
-Every time you go to get gas from Kit, he gives you only a little amount, so you have a reason to keep coming back
-One time when you go get gas from him, you forget your wallet again, and he teases you about it
-He lets you off and pays for your gas
- “I owe you, Mr Walka”
- “How about a date?”
-You smile at how confident he is, and nod excitedly, having been waiting for him to ask you for a while now
-Kit winks at you and waves as you drive off, completely melted inside about finally getting his girl
-Even though he’s always confident, he’s still a little shy and awkward around you when he sees you in class
-If all of his friends are in a class messing around, throwing stuff, being loud, and you walk it, he tells everybody to shut up because there’s a lady present
- “Hey careful, make sure you don’t throw it at her”
-It’s not until he sees you at a huge party, that he’s confident enough to go up to you
-Even though he’s more than happy to flirt, he’s just not confident enough to do that last step and ask you out somewhere
-He’ll bring you a drink and talk and flirt with you, and you’ll definitely get the hint
-He slowly lifts his arm up and stretches it over you, trying to do the classic yawn move, hoping you won’t notice or mind. You look over at him and narrow your eyes in fake suspicion.
- “Didn’t you come here with a movie star? Surely you get handsome men bringing you drinks all the time?”, he says, motioning to the drink in your hand.
“You calling yourself handsome?”, you tease him. Kyle laughs a breathy awkward laugh and nods. “Well yeah”
-When you do ask him for a date, he insists that he take the initiative to plan what you two do
-Clearly wanting to make a good first impression, he’d take you somewhere interesting
-Aquarium, in which he’ll make up clearly fake facts about the fish just to make you laugh
-Bowling, just so he can tease you about how much you suck
-Mini golf, so, even though you know how to play, he can wrap his arms around you and help you put
-And if he does take you to the movies, you aren’t spending a dime
-He’ll also wrap his arm around you not-so subtly
Franken Kyle
“Whatcha doin there, hm?”. Kyle leans into your ear and whispers.
“Just in case you get scared, you can cuddle up to me”
“Kyle we’re watching the Lego movie”
Jimmy
-You’re a witch at the academy, and with Kyle’s very slow progress to getting better, both Zoe and Madison are getting slightly tired of having to constantly take care of him
-But you don’t mind, finding his Frankenstein state cute
-Whenever he stumbles into the kitchen by himself you always help him make food
-If he’s ever struggling with anything, he usually comes to you, knowing you’re the most patient out of them all
-Then, one night, all the teens in the academy go to a party, while you lay in bed
-But when the rain starts to get really heavy and the first thunder growls, Kyle rushes into your room, before slowly knowing and peaking his head out, clearly scared
-You let him come and lay with you, rubbing his back to calm him down
-Although no real words are spoken, it’s from that moment that you decide to take on all responsibilities relating to Kyle, the good and the bad
-He’s admired you from afar for a very long time, ever since the first time you joined the circus
-You were incredibly flexible, and always showing off to everyone and practicing on stage
-He would always come and watch you practice, cheering you on more than anybody else
-You called Jimmy ‘my cheerleader’
-It made him blush every time
-Amazon Eve always told him to just ask you for dinner, but the only thing that stopped him was the thought that you wouldn’t want to go out and be seen with a freak like him, especially since your body looked so normal that you didn’t have to hide anything
-Eve and Paul reminded Jimmy that it’s him who’s always the most confident in going out into the real world, and he mustn’t be scared
-When they all plan to go to a diner together, as a protest to being shunned from society, you find his leadership charming and happily go with them
-Even though you all get kicked out, you calm Jimmy down and take care of him when his dad beats him up
James
-You wipe the scars on his face and tell him how brave you think he is
- Trying to gain confidence, you take a deep breath before making the move. “Maybe the two of us should go to that diner”. Jimmy looks up at you, as if he expects you to keep talking. When the nerves hit you all at once, you begin rambling. “You know cause if the two of us go and they’re okay with that then maybe we can start going with the others one by one, and then you know we’ll ease our way back into society and stuff”. You laugh a breathy laugh, but Jimmy says nothing. With every silent second passing, your heart begins to break. But luckily for you, Jimmy speaks up. “Wait, are you asking me out? Like… on a date? To the diner?”. “What if I were?”, you quietly reply. He smiles wide and pulls you closer to him, “I’d love that”.
-James is definitely the least subtle
-Constantly giving you compliments, kisses and gifts
-Opening every door for you and listening very carefully to everything you say
-He doesn’t want you to even think about another man, so he overwhelms you with every way he can show you he likes you
-I can imagine him organising a big ball or event at the hotel just so the two of you can dress up and go together
-He is also the most confident out of them all, although he is a softie around you, he has no trouble asking you anything he wants to you
-He’ll kiss your hand a lot and you’ll eventually get the hint
Kai
- “I would be most delighted if we were to make our relationship more official, and vow fully loyalty to one another”
-You agree and he is over the moon
-Once the two of you are in a relationship, the compliments, kisses and gifts don’t stop
-He will give you your space without him, but when the two of you are in the same room together, he treats your precious time together as if it’s sacred
-He will approximately 43 seconds into your relationship begin planning how he’s gonna kill you
-You can tell Kai likes you when he’s harsher on you than he is on other members of the cult
-He’ll be pissed at you for being a distraction for him
-He’ll definitely tell you when he’s impressed with you, when you murdered somebody or helped him plan something
-Even though he definitely would not want it
-If you proved to be smarter than him in any aspect, he’d be furious
-You’d be sat on his sofa while he’s talking to you about having to kill Sally because she’s getting in the way of him winning city council
- “Samuels looked at where she lives, and it has no back doors, no nothing, it’ll be impossible to get in her house without smashing windows and causing attention”
“Why don’t you get Ally to go to her first? If Meadow convinces her to go to Sally to talk about the cult, then the front door will be open”. Kai looks at you with angry eyebrows. “We’ll sit in the car and wait for a few seconds, she’ll let Ally in, won’t lock the door straight after her, and then let them talk for a minute before we just walk right in”
-His ego won’t let him take suggestions from somebody below him, so even though he wants to be proud of you for being smart, he’s mad
-He’ll sit for hooours trying to think of any other solution he physically can think of, to not go with what you suggested
-Around the cult, he’d treat you like everybody else though
- “Y/N’s idea was brilliant, Ally just walked in and they walked straight to sit down, she didn’t lock the door”
-He’d praise you to encourage you to think of ideas, which he would later be mad that you have
━━━━━━♡♤♡━━━━━━
-You’d find out how he felt about you during pinky power
-After being suspicious that he may have feelings for you for a while, you realised this is the only way to truly find out how he feels without him trying to manipulate you
-He’d ask you about something deep, and you’d latch on after he finishes a sentence to ask him your question
- “I have a question for you”
“Go ahead”
“How do you feel about me?”
Kai stays silent and continues to look you in the eye, taken aback by the question but not wanting to show it.
“When you’re with me, how do you feel?”
“I think you have real potential, you’re strong-”
“I’m not asking the Divine Ruler, I’m asking Kai, Kai Anderson”
He takes a deep breath before unintentionally breaking eye contact for a few seconds to think. You wait anxiously for the answer, and with every second passing you know what it will be.
“You’re special”, he starts, looking you in the eye again. “You’re valuable to the group, and to me. And I think you’d be a great… mother”. The last catches you off guard, not expecting Kai to be a family man or to think about this with you.
“You… you want me to… have your children?”
“I think our children would be indestructible, strong, powerful, decisive. They would be the seed of the better future”. Although it was a little forward for somebody you’ve never even kissed, you were beyond flattered, knowing how specific Kai is with traits in people.
“Let’s make a baby”, Kai says.
“Whoa whoa”, you laugh and unlink your pinky with his. “We’re not even dating, Kai”
“Why date if children is the ultimate purpose?”
“Then don’t look at is as dating… look at it… as getting to know the mother of your future children”
-Kai would love this and you’d soon end up dating

between lightning and thunder|harry styles.
summary: he’s your best friend’s boyfriend, you have feelings for him, you know the drill.
“In thunderstorms, you count the seconds in between the lightning and thunder, the more you counted the furthest the lightning had struck. 5 seconds equals 1 mile. In matters of the heart, and considering this situation. The more you counted, the closer you were.”
word count: 7k
pairing: Harry Styles x reader
warnings: alcohol mention, a bit sad, Little Prince, some songs.
PART TWO: thunderstorms and shooting stars PART THREE: stars and fate
So, here’s my first official Harry Styles one shot (kind of two-part one shot), thanks to @peachybloomss and @laurieteddy for helping me out with beta reading. Yes, there will be part two if you guys want it. I’ll see if you like it, please send feedback, reblog, be kind.
The rain pattered against the asphalt, now bright and dense, reflecting the tinkling lantern that barely gave an excuse of light to the street. There you were, in that corner, shading the sidewalk with those sneakers that used to be white. You were getting wet, that was an understatement, you knew you would have a cold the very next day. You clutched your dark blue umbrella as you waited for a miracle.
You saw the sky light up and counted the seconds.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
The lightning struck with such a crash it made you shiver.
It seemed like it was the worst day of your life. It probably wasn't, but that's how it felt. It is difficult to understand why a relationship ends. It’s even more difficult to understand when you’re an outsider. You were not one, though, not really. You wished you were.
Your best friend’s boyfriend, now ex. Probably ex.
Harry.
You saw him, right outside of the building where you were supposed to be in, leaning to give a shoulder to your friend. You would, of course.
But you wondered what would happen if you didn’t. If you instead went to him. Of course the imagination can go as wild as we let it go but this was just not what you needed.
Harry.
It felt weird, and you didn’t know if she’d seen her. He was pinching the bridge of his nose as he tried to breathe in. They’d probably had another fight. One of those loud arguments where both of them made absolutely no sense at all. The relationship both of them were fighting for but there was barely any relationship to be saved at all.
Harry.
There are secrets in life we all like to keep. This was one you’d kept for a long while right now.
But you didn't know how longer you could keep it. You were in love with your best friend’s boyfriend. Probably ex now. Who wouldn’t be?
It was the same old story, coming of age kind of story with no happy ending whatsoever and which led to this absolute mess, with every day your feelings growing deeper. It was your fault for becoming so close to him.
You saw him again, cursing at the rain as his hair was soaking, he only cursed between his teeth again as he was debating whether or not to go back into the building, he kicked the puddle forming in front of him and groaned. That’s when he saw you.
With your dark blue umbrella, and coat. Calmly watching him, not moving, not doing anything at all.
You wondered if he knew.
If he’d ever notice how your eyes brightened up when he was in the room. Maybe he had, all those years, with you in the shadows.
When you met him, him sitting down with some friends, they’d introduced you to one of his, and Sierra had insisted on pairing you up with that guy. Teenage years, when one escapes to parties and tries not to come back home drunk for your parents to notice. A Halloween party, you’d dressed up as Wednesday Addams, he’d dressed up as Elton John.
You had noticed him first, his green eyes had crossed with yours. It wasn’t really his zone, it had seemed. Sierra had caught his eyes, though.
You barely remembered anything from that party, it was like any other party from that time. Drunk teenagers, gathering around to smoke and play a bare excuse of beer pong.
It had been raining but it had stopped, that you could remember. You had gone outside, tired from the buzzing music that you could barely recognize, just loud strums and unnecessary words put together. Songs talking about material things and partying. Not feelings.
You remembered walking outside to the wet grass and you avoided some other people making out on the floor, Britney Spears making out with Frankenstein, that was something. Some other kids yelling through their phones as they assured their parents they weren’t drunk when they clearly stung like warm cheap beer.
You didn’t remember why you had walked out. But you did remember seeing him there, too.
“Got bored of the games?” He asked you, he was leaning against the wall.
There it was, the reason you went outside. He had intrigued you, why hadn’t he stayed with his friends? Why was he staring at the night sky? Was he that drunk?
You had crossed a few words with him throughout the party, nothing important or particular. Very… forgettable. You’d played beer pong against him and his friend, the one Sierra had insisted that he liked you.
But nothing too important.
However you’d seen him walk out. It had awakened something in you.
“I’m terrible at beer pong,” you admitted. “Not even risking playing.”
“That’s the fun of beer pong, though,” he commented. “Ge’ing your ass drunk enough.”
You chuckled. “Well why aren’t you playing anymore?”
“I’m too good,” he sassed. “Ain’t nothin’ fun in that,” he pointed out. “So, Wednesday Addams, huh?”
“Yes,” you smirked. “Be afraid, be very afraid.”
“You’re too smiley to be Wednesday, very pretty smile,” he grinned.
“Thanks, Elton,” you grinned. You didn’t know if the warmth in your body was from embarrassment or if it was the effect the alcohol was having on you.
He winked at you. “So, no beer pong for me.”
You rolled your eyes, and laughed a little. “I’m sure that’s not the reason why you’re here outside, your friends are having fun.”
“Yeah,” he chuckled. “I just came here to see the sky—That sounds so pretentious.”
“It does,” you conceded. “But I’ll give it to you, it’s pretty, can’t judge you, I partly came outside for it, too.” Although you hadn’t. It was no secret his eyes had staggered in your mind for the whole night and that the constant smiling had caught your attention.
He had smiled, you still remembered it to this day. “Haven’t had a clear sky in days,” he commented.
You shrugged, “haven’t noticed.”
“You haven’t noticed,” he sounded incredibly offended, “didn’t you miss this?” He pointed at the sky, he was just slightly tipsy you could tell. “The stars?”
That had made you smile and even laugh. “Oh, yes. I missed it, I just hadn’t realized how much.”
“You hadn’t noticed how much you missed this beautiful night sky!” His movements were big, hands up in the air. He even caused some of the other teenagers to stop making out.
“Shh! You’ve interrupted them!” You pointed out as the couple walked away angrily.
“Tha’s great! Look at the sky fellas!” He reached out for them.
You laughed. “Oh my god.”
“Huh, they can be horny teens else here. Why ruin m’moment with the sky and a beautiful girl,” he grinned at you. “This only happens in the movies!” He yelled again.
You couldn’t help but blush and cling to the red cup in your hand. He was drunk.
“In the movies though, the guy isn’t as drunk,” you mocked.
“I’m not even that drunk love,” he said. “I’m just concerned how you haven’t noticed the stars.”
“I had noticed the moon was gone,” you admitted. “Bigger fan of the moon, alright?,” you said. “Right up there, see it?”
“She’s gorgeous,” he grinned. You stared at it, bright and round, and you turned to him shining bright enough in his nose. “She’s the love of my life,” he stated.
You had chuckled. “It’s a shame she disappears once every month.”
“She’s reborn,” he chuckled. “Maybe we should learn from ‘er, huh?”
“Really?”
“Each month she rises up again and she’s beautiful in each one of her stages,” he commented, “no matter if she’s on her way to the darkness, she’s stunning.”
You only scrunched your nose. “We’re getting a bit too poetic, are we?”
He laughed. “Maybe,” he admitted.
“I’m kidding, I like that,” you’d said. “We should all be like the moon.”
“Hm, but if we were, who’d be the stars,” he commented. “It’s funny, we take the stars for granted but y’know what?” He chuckled. “Each one of ‘em is very particular.”
“No one would notice if a star was gone,” you pointed out.
“I would, the sky would look sadder,” he said. “And even if I love the moon, everyone does really, the stars are what paint the night sky so beautifully.”
“Well the moon works hard to be seen,” you grinned. “I think we should compliment her effort.”
“What about the stars? They’re so far away yet they’re freckling the dark sky,” he smiled and then turned to you.“This does feel like a movie scene, innit?”
“A bit, yeah.”
“It’s not one,” he added. “Or else you would’ve kissed me.”
You coughed, blushing. You had felt butterflies. The kind of butterflies that hadn’t disappeared in all those years. “Yeah, it’s not—Not a movie scene.”
You should’ve kissed him, though. But he hadn’t kissed you either so maybe that was the answer you needed.
“Is it the Wednesday Addams in you?” He wondered with a chuckle.
“Maybe,” you shrugged, trying to get as serious as you could.
He blushed. “What would you do if a guy worshiped and adored you? Who'd do anything for you? Who'd be your devoted slave? Then what would you do?”
“I’d pity him,” you quoted Wednesday.
He laughed. “You do know her, great.” He kept staring at the sky. “It would be great if a shooting star passed by, would add to it.”
“Shooting stars, are they like the moon?” You asked.
He chuckled. “No, they’re one of a kind and shall be treasured. If you miss your shot then it’s gone, you should take the chance when you get it.”
“Never thought of it that way,” you admitted.”hm who would’ve thought a drunken teenager dressed as Elton John would teach me of this.”
“A wise drunk teenager dressed as Elton John,” he corrected. “You’re a lil’ bit tipsy yourself huh.”
You grinned. “Yeah, just a little.”
“Besides, you proved my point!” He chipped. “You hadn’t noticed the stars!”
You smiled. “Now I will, I guess, thanks Elton.”
“I love the stars,” he pointed out. “Shame they’re barely seen.
“The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart,” you said.
“The Little Prince,” he grinned. “You know that book?”
“Everyone knows it,” you chuckled. “But yes, it’s my favorite.”
“But everyone barely does,” he grinned. “It’s my favorite book, too, read it each year.”
“Me too,” you beamed. “Helps me out when I’m lost.”
“I always learn something,” he said.
You grinned.
“I’m Harry,” he had introduced himself to you. “Harry Styles.”
And it rolled on the top of your tongue every now and then, that named you crushed and cursed. It had lingered until now. Of course his stupid name was perfect, too.
You should’ve kissed him or ran along with his—had he attempted to flirt? Was he trying that? You knew you had liked him. One of those stupid connections, like he’d said. It had felt like one, one of those coming of age films. But it wasn’t.
Short conversation that you couldn’t quite put your head to it. Didn’t make any sense, if you were honest. You should’ve kissed him, and to this day you still wondered what would’ve happened if you had.
The story of how Harry and Sierra had officially met was his favorite to tell. He’d say it over and over, how a beautiful girl dressed like Puglsey Addams, because of course best friends always match, had accidentally ran to him and he’d spilled his drink on her moments after meeting you. How he had helped her in the bathroom to clean herself and they’d instantly laughed. How he had fallen in love with her the second he’d met her.
Funny.
They had walked out of that party, they’d probably gone for a walk. You remembered it. How since that day you couldn’t stop thinking about him.
How since that day you always stared at the night sky and watched the stars.
Funny thing, he was the one to call you out for being in love with the moon and never paying attention to the stars, yet he had never noticed you. Taken you for granted.
You couldn’t blame him, after all, the moon was the love of his life.
You’d grown fonder of him, and Sierra had made sure you both got along.
“My best friend and my boyfriend have to get along.”
You shouldn’t have, though. Because with time you both were hanging out a friendship was forming, from his side. And then a growing feeling in yours.
Had he ever noticed?
Each time Sierra dragged him so you wouldn’t feel left out, but it was counterproductive because you’d fall for him. Because it seemed that his jokes were just made for you, and you couldn’t help but think that you were meant to be.
Maybe he’d noticed that time near her birthday, years ago, when he’d call you to bake cookies together for your friend. He probably had noticed then. Maybe he had felt something, too.
Licking a spoonful of cookie dough, and laughing against each other, how he would hide his smile, and how he’d give you those shy green eyes before avoiding a laugh when you’d said a very bad joke.
How both of you were tiptoeing and dancing in the kitchen, music playing loud, as you were sitting on the counter and he leaned against it, scrolling on his phone as he played songs.
“Okay, so this,” Harry had said, “this is one of my favorites,” he said before a guitar started to play.
“The Zombies, She’s not there!” You guessed quickly. “A classic, please, you have to be kidding me, play something difficult.”
“How do you know it?” Harry frowned, jokingly turning to you. “I swear—“
“I love them, what do you mean?” You chuckled.
“But you’ve guessed every single song I’ve played,” he pointed out very dramatically. “Every single one, I swear Sierra wouldn’t have guessed one.”
“Sierra has bad taste in music,” you pointed out. “I love her, but really, but she’s got great taste in cookies so she’ll love this.”
Because you knew him. Sierra dated him but you knew him. And sometimes you wondered how Sierra couldn’t really see his magic.
You couldn’t stop thinking about it, back then, how you fit so well together. How your laugh would synchronize with his and how every single joke he’d make, no matter how stupid, was funny to you. The way you’d try to hide some smiles, and how the tension would be broken when she arrived. She whom he loved.
A usual friend. Should’ve remained as friends. You still were. You felt dirty each time they looked at each other, it hurt, so much. And they talked too cute, and they were always adorable.
You had to stop thinking about him.
Except you loved him, and you had realized it, that one time, around Christmas, one of those Christmas parties that you always had with your friends in which eventually Harry had joined in. You remembered how you got his name in Secret Santa.
Cozy night it was, they were cuddling each other.
You remembered how he had opened it, Love is a Dog From Hell by Charles Bukowski, a book he’d constantly mentioned, a book he loved. He had thanked you and hugged you and it had been the perfect Christmas present.
You knew that.
You saw them, kissing under that mistletoe that he’d jokingly placed on top of them. You wished you were her. Sierra being pretty and lovely. And Sierra having him.
But then he’d decided to give everyone presents, maybe for accepting him on your Christmas party, or whatever he meant. How he was the life in the party, and how he had made you smile.
And everyone got presents, and each of them proved how much he put thoughts into it, because he really wanted to make them. How he had given that one friend some brushes so they could paint, or a new camera to that other one.
You remembered how perfectly unevenly wrapped yours was, with that silly wrapping paper that had little Santas on it. He probably had wrapped it himself, you could see how it was cut, and the tape all over it, with a hand-made bow, so pretty. It felt warm, and it felt like him. You opened it, he told you you could rip it off, and you hadn't, you had so slowly opened it, you still kept that wrapping paper to this day. The Little Prince. As if he was joking with you.
He had only winked at you, probably unaware that he was digging a deeper way into your heart.
And you kept loving him, watching him from afar as they kissed over and over again.
How you’d help her with gifts for him, when his own birthdays came around, like when you told her to give him more rings for his fingers, because you knew him. And how he would share his news with you first because he knew you’d listen.
You wondered if Sierra ever noticed he was more than the guy who had nice clothes, and the guy with that pretty smile. Did she ever stop to listen to his thoughts? Those that came at 2 in the morning. Those you’d been able to listen to at a party, where both of you were away from the crowd as Sierra was partying with some other of your friends.
“She’s amazing, isn’t she?” Harry had asked you, that New Years party. They had kissed at midnight, of course. He had brought his guitar, a new habit that he had earned over the time. You loved every time he sang, raspy and quiet. Over the years he’d sing more and more with you, and less and less with crowds. He thought nobody wanted to listen, you did, you always wanted to listen.
You only looked up to see her, she was. Dancing as the lights were jumping around with her, the music bouncing with her. Harry had his fingers brushing against the strings, barely stroking it, as he was so mesmerized watching Sierra. You always wanted to be seen that way, you never would.
You could never be Sierra, and of course, why would Harry ever turn to love someone like you? When Sierra was so perfect and lovely.
You’d never say anything, maybe Sierra did notice. But she trusted you.
“Yeah,” you had answered. You had been cold.
He could tell, you knew that.
“You’re cold,” he pointed out matter-of-factly.
“I am,” you admitted. “Tis cold, though.”
“You’re never cold, though,” he pointed out.
“I am today.”
“I’m not cold,” he had said. “Want my jacket?”
And he had given it to you, and Sierra had seen it. And she didn’t mind. Because Sierra trusted you, and she trusted him.
So she didn’t mind when Harry had taken your hand to shove you into the dancefloor with him. Sierra had said it once: ‘he sees you as a best friend, I think he’s claiming you’.
And you remembered being silly while dancing with him, how he put his hands in fists and shook them in front of his chest, giggling to himself, and gave you that damned smile. And by then by that time you aready had your own way with him, always singing to each other, being stupid really.
Heroes by Bowie was playing, a song he loved, and you did too.
“Just for one day.”
You still thought it was your song.
And though you were the one to wear the sweater, she’d be the one to go home with him. So in love. It didn’t matter.
But life goes on, the birds sing, the sun keeps rising.
It had been a long time since you thought of him that way, he was just one more, another broken heart. And you knew it, that life does not stop, she did not either. And crying for a love that never had a chance to be sounds foolish, insensitive and useless.
At some point you did move on. Because you had to, and you wanted it to pass but then it would always come, how he’d smile at you and you’d think of it, the start that one time when you should’ve done something.
And it was weird listening to Sierra talk about him, she was so desperately in love with him. That’s what mattered, they made each other happy. And so, so happy. And though it hurt, you knew it had to be that way.
You were the one to listen to both of them, whenever they had a small fight or whatever, both sides. You usually agreed with both, honestly, but always took Sierra’s side. She was your best friend, after all.
And you couldn’t tell the world that he made you oh so happy, and you new Sierra probably didn’t even think of it, because you weren’t obvious and you had dates of your own, you dated other people of course, but you always ended up wondering what would happen between you and Harry.
It probably didn’t ever occur to Sierra. Not to Harry either, probably. Because everything was so platonic. Like when he picked you up in the middle of the night just because he wanted to drive around the city, whenever him and Sierra had a fight and he needed to understand her and he knew that the way to understand her was through you. And you’d end up sitting on the trunk of his car, watching the stars, listening to him, making him laugh until the sun was rising.
You knew everything about him, meaning behind every single tattoo, favorite movie, favorite song. You always had to stop yourself, so patient, but sometimes you couldn’t help it, your hand would brush his hair and you’d think about it, if you could only kiss him. Would it feel the way you dreamed of it?
An indentation between you and him, always stepping back. But then he’d smile at you and you’d want to close it. Please, please, please, just once. How would it feel? To seal the notch, close the gap.
And once it had happened. Nothing serious, really. A few years ago, around spring, nothing serious. Not at all. It was an accident.
Really was, of course.
Harry had been excited about Spring, and Sierra always said that whenever spring came around love was in the air, and Harry wanted to plan out a picnic for Sierra so of course he asked for your help.
It had been so stupid, an accident. He had asked you to go to the supermarket with him, and you were prancing around, laughing and having fun. He was always so sweet when it came to be so domestic. He was singing in the hallways as he was choosing the pastries, picking out the wine.
“Something in the way she moves,” he sang along to the song, hand movements as he reached out for a feeling with his hand, exaggerated movements as he threw his head back.
“The Beatles,” you said, matter of factly. But you knew the Beatles weren’t singing that version. It didn’t feel like a usual supermarket song, but he was moving his head and singing.
“Yeah,” he chuckled. “However, they’re not the-”
“Not the ones singing, I know, that’s a woman,” you answered before he could fight back.
He giggled, “Yea, this is Phyllis Dillon,” he pointed out. “Such a song. I’m impressed, y/n, you didn’t know her.”
“Didn’t, now I do,” you grinned. “Unusual song for the supermarket.”
He watched you, tiredly with that bright smile that could light up the entire world. Sunlight.
“This is going to sound rude,” he said.
You raised your brows at him.
“But like, if Sierra and I ever break up who’s gonna keep you?” He joked.
You had laughed. “Like a dog?”
He scrunched his nose. “I didn’t mean it that way.”
“Oh, I’m most certain you did,” you teased.
“Did not.”
“Well I don’t think you guys will break up,” you had said, and you had meant it, because you really didn’t want them to. He made your best friend happy and your best friend made him happy. All that matters.
He smiled, “you think?”
“Yeah, I’m making sure you don’t,” you winked at him. “Also, that wine, Harold?” You asked before putting it back and choosing a better one.
“Thanks for helping me,” he had said. “Y’er always such a good friend.”
“Just making sure everything is—“
“Perfect for Sierra, I kno’,” he smirked. “And you always make sure tis perfect for me too.”
You grinned. “I'm the mastermind behind the relationship.”
And the problem was he had leaned over to kiss your cheek, you guessed in an attempt to thank you for being a friend, but it had been an accident or maybe you had turned to him, subconsciously longing for your lips to meet his. Barely a peck. Yet it had felt… electric. As if a lightning had just struck you.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
And he had backed away.
Had he felt it? That buzzing and flickering spark? That thunder You’d kissed.
In a grocery store. Planking a picnic for his girlfriend. Your best friend. This was wrong.
“I’m—sorry,” both of you had said at the unison.
“I—was going to—“
“I didn’t know—“
But both of you knew it had been four seconds. It’s funny, someone had once taught you to count the seconds between thunders and lighting. In thunderstorms, you count the seconds in between the lightning and thunder, the more you counted the furthest the lightning had struck. 5 seconds equals 1 mile.
In matters of the heart, and considering this situation. The more you counted, the closer you were. 4 seconds had been until he had pulled away.
4 stupid seconds.
Could mean a lot of things, could mean nothing.
Harry and you had stopped talking for a while after it happened. Neither of you told Sierra, but she had noticed you were avoiding her boyfriend which brought her to doubt him. No she didn’t think you had kissed. She thought you had fought or whatever she had come up with.
“Don’t you like Harry anymore? Why are you not hanging out with us anymore?” She had asked you.
“Maybe I don’t want to third-wheel anymore,” you snapped. “Enjoy your boyfriend, Sierra. I don’t have to be around twenty four seven.”
That’s when the problems had started. Not between you and Sierra, but him and Sierra. It was no secret you had been the “mastermind” behind their relationship. But you had walked out of there. However it had been coincidental, or so you told yourself. It didn’t really have much to do with you walking out.
Or had it?
You had guessed you’d feel that way each night, with the light of your phone illuminating your face while the dark room paled your tears. You’d see his initial on the screen, and doubt if calling was a choice. He was never a talker, really. He barely liked to speak up. He was more of...actions. So whenever he didn’t do anything, you knew something was up. He wasn’t... really, he wasn’t like this.
At least a text but he didn’t like texting. Nothing. His silent treatments were like others. The ‘H’ is silent, you thought to yourself.
Funny.
Sierra had mentioned he had been distanced. It was around the time you started dating Daniel. Danny.
And you saw Sierra arguing over and over through the phone, and coming back crying to your shared apartment. Giving her your shoulder to cry on.
She said that Harry had told her he wasn’t sure about it.
Which led to the first breakup.
One that didn’t really last. But you remembered it perfectly, you were at a museum, date with Danny. Nice, romantic.
And then you’d received a call, Harry. He hadn’t called you in a while and you weren’t sure why he had called you.
You had looked down at the caller ID. He wasn’t a texter, you knew that, but—you answered the phone.
“Hello? Harry?” You answered, with fear.
Danny hadn’t questioned you.
“Sierra and I broke up,” he stated.
You felt cold. “Oh.” Your first instinct had been to call your friend. See if she was okay.
“I—“he sighed. “I… can I see you?”
“I—sure but—“
“Okay, I’ll pick you up in ten,” he said. “Please don’t—“
“Oh, Harry I’m on a date right now.”
“You—what?”
“Yes I’m here with Danny,” you had said. “On a date.”
He had gone quiet, dangerously quiet.
“But-I’ll call you when I get home, alright?”
“Yeah.”
When you got home, Sierra had her door locked and didn’t want to talk to you.
“I need some time alone.”
And you had called Harry but he hadn’t answered.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four calls until he answered. Before you knew it, you were with him, driving again, he liked to drive, you knew that. To watch a sunset. As they said in The Little Prince, you see, one loves the sunset when one is so sad.
And he was sad, and he was quiet. ‘Could it Be Another Chance’ by The Samples was playing in the background.
“I guess Sierra told you,” he had said, gulping.
“She didn’t,” you said.
He hadn’t dared to look at you. It felt weird, you hadn’t talked to him a while and seeing him standing there with tears wanting to come down.
He coughed. “Well.”
“What happened?” You didn’t know.
He hadn’t answered, and there was that usual frown upon his face, thoughtful, very thoughtful and dark if he wanted it to be. He was sad or disappointed. You didn’t blame him, of course, breakups are hard enough.
“Dunno,” he admitted. Endless nightmare when he didn’t actually say what he wanted to. He actually had that habit, but he usually showed it, with his eyes.
“Then?”
“Are you afraid of me, y/n?” He blurted out the question.
“Why would I?”
“Not in the--scary way,” he said quickly. “But in the way that we both know each other,” he said. “The way that it feels off.”
“I’ve never felt off with you,” you admitted.
“That’s the thing,” he sighed. “That’s the thing,” he repeated. “I don’t get it,” he said.
“Did you feel off with Sierra?” You asked.
He didn’t answer. Maybe he should’ve.
“We haven’t talked for a while so I have no inkling on where you were standing,” you admitted. “Not from Sierra’s perspective, either.”
He shook his head. “That’s the thing,” he said for the third time. “That’s the thing.”
He had only turned the music louder, and sang along to it.
“Danny, then?” He asked eventually. “Danny?”
“Yeah,” you said.
“And do you feel off with him?” He asked.
“I don’t.”
He had clenched his jaw. “Is it going anywhere?” He asked. “Or is it like any other guy you’ve dated?”
“No.”
“You like him, right?” He asked.
You smiled, slightly, feeling warm on your cheeks. “I-”
“When someone blushes, doesn't that mean 'yes’?” He asked.
You didn’t answer.
“I’m just, I’ve been wondering I’ve always wanted to feel with Sierra the same way I feel with you,” he had said. “Not in-”
“Harry that’s-”
“Sounds mental, doesn’t it?” He sighed. “To want a friend in someone you love.”
“Someone you love should be a friend,” you said. “But I…”
“Did you ever wonder about it?”
“About what?”
He shrugged. “If that night I had ran into Wednesday instead of Pugsley.”
“You did run into me,” you pointed out. “It just wasn’t meant to be.”
“Yeah, could’ve been.”
But it had you thinking. Maybe it had been stupid, but you had broken up with Danny after a few weeks of thought. Or maybe led Danny to break up with you because you had been off. And it had felt off, and it hadn’t but with one simple question Harry had made, it had you thinking.
And maybe it was stupid to think that now that Harry and Sierra had broken up you could simply get your shot, but he had been the one to say it, hadn’t he?
Shooting stars are chances. And he was one and you hadn't taken it.
Just after you’d walk in to your apartment with Sierra, you’d seen them kissing again. They were back together.
So there was your chance, gone again but then again it was stupid to think that you could get a shot, besides it was Sierra’s boyfriend.
Yes, heartbroken you were.
And it continued, for a long while. They were fine again and you had to be quiet again. Halloween, Spring, New Years, Christmas, Birthdays, parties, every single season they were there. All the time. And they were fine. For most of the time, other times not so much, and the second, and third breakup came around. Yet, they always got back together, even with all the fighting and yelling which you never understood, not really. Why would anyone stay in a relationship like that?
You guessed that at the end of the day they still loved each other, and their fights were simply stupid and they always, always, always got over them. You didn’t, you remembered them yelling and fighting and just searching for an excuse to stay together, and then they’d kiss and forget it and they’d be calmed.
It still ached, to have him around nd think of the stupid ‘what if’ that would certainly never come because even if you were given the chance, you’d never take it because Sierra was and would always be your best friend.
Did she know? Had she seen it? The way your world stopped when Harry was around? How you’d make time for him or how whenever he was around you couldn’t take your eyes off him. Your bright and true smile, and how you’d listen to every song he told you to, or how you’d always be there to listen to him, no matter the time.
How you looked away each time they kissed and how you wished you could find someone like him and yet it wouldn’t be enough because it wouldn’t be him. Because his mind was the place where you wanted all your secrets to be hidden. His lips were the only one thing that could make you feel, or so you thought, that could make you get to paradise. His voice was supposed to tell your story, and his ears were meant to listen to you.
Yet, it was Sierra.
Not you.
Sierra.
And Harry would tell her. He loved her, he lived for her, spared his entire life and love for her. And though you knew they weren’t happy, you wondered if you were allowed to tell them. Maybe you were biased, and you did hear them say how they loved each other but then it… You could tell it was off.
The moment you had given up had been barely a few weeks ago, finally given up. You remembered how he had asked for your help.
“I’m picking out a ring, y/n.”
“Another one?” You had chuckled. “You’ll need more fingers, Harold.”
“For Sierra.”
“Oh, she’s not really a ring person-” you had started.
“No, I… y/n I’m asking her to marry me,” he had blurted.
You had paused.
“Seems like it’s time,” he said. “And she’s been hintin’ it. Doesn’t get any better than this.”
It hurt. But you had gone with him.
Walking through the store, seeing rings and rings, jewelry.
“I dunno anything ‘bout marriage,” he admitted. “It’s ironic, I love rings yet this one I can’t seem to know….”
“This one is pretty,” you had pointed out at one.
He had made a face, scrunching his nose. Always making faces.
“Why are you doing this?” You had questioned.
He had looked up at you. He knew why you were asking. Because things hadn’t been right but he probably thought this was the way to make things right, but he probably wanted you to question him. Harry couldn’t be tied, yet this seemed like he was tying himself.
It made you sad, how he had lost what made him oh so beautiful, oh so perfect. His freedom. He was willing to take away his freedom. Not because marriage per se was taking away someone’s freedom but for Harry this particular decision seemed like it was.
He didn’t smile anymore, not that much, he wasn’t as silly.
“She’s my moon,” he had said.
“Yet I remember you were a bigger fan of the stars,” you had called him out.
“The shooting star passed, y/n, this is what’s meant to happen, I lost a shooting star, but I love the moon,” he said. “The moon is meant to be loved.”
“Marriage won’t solve your problems.”
“I know, but it might make me get back to my senses, I’ve spent all these years with her, I love her, that’s it, no other explanation, and that’s--”
“Harry.”
“it is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important,” he quoted.
“Love doesn’t mean wasting time.”
And the conversation had continued and you kept playing it over and over your head, and tried to understand if this was your fault, which you were sure led to the fourth breakup, to the one you probably were witnessing now.
To this day, of you standing with your dirty sneakers, with two options. To offer a shoulder or to finally try and fight for something that probably would never work. To risk everything for once.
Standing with your umbrella, watching him staring at you. Wondering what could’ve happened if it had been Wednesday instead of Pugsley. Wondering what would’ve happened if you kissed him. Wondering what would’ve gone by had you made a wish to that shooting star.
You were willing to do it. Risk it all to count the seconds between the lightning and the thunder.

Ririka Momobami x She/Her Reader (feat. Kirari being a nuisance)
A/N: Ririka’s relationship leaves Kirari feeling a bit envious and curious. Never a good combination. I think Kakegurui Kari ruined me from ever characterizing Kirari in a proper way. Anyway, hope y’all enjoy! Word Count: 3,456 (what are the odds?!)
“Ririka, how is it that you and (Y/n) are already in the hand holding stage of your relationship?” Kirari had asked out of the blue at dinner whilst swirling her drink, watching the liquid spin around.
Ririka recognized that look in her sister’s eyes. It was a dangerous one, boredom. And if there was one thing the older twin knew about how her sister dealt with boredom, it was to stand back as far as possible and disappear into the background. She couldn’t not answer Kirari though, that would just pique her interest even further. So, Ririka assumed the best disinterested face she could muster and answered her sister’s odd query.
“(Y/n) brushed her hand against mine one day when we were walking in the school forest. We looked at each other and we just sort of gravitated towards each other. Now it’s just something we do.” Ririka shrugged before savoring the last bite of her meal. Unfortunately her answer did not yield the desired effect as Kirari leaned forward a bit in her chair, her eyes gleaming with curiosity.
“So you’ve communicated your intentions telepathically. How does one go about achieving that in a relationship?”
Ririka swallowed, wishing she could have chewed just a bit longer on the delicious morsel. “Not at all. We just... read each other’s cues.”
“So it’s like gambling?” Kirari asked, intrigued.
“In a way, I suppose.” Ririka said. She didn’t think so, but if there was one thing her fish brained sister understood, it was gambling. It was just about the only reference she understood besides those related to outer space, baseball and the ocean so naturally, she applied it to everything.
“Hmm, I see.”
Ririka had a moment when she thought Kirari was satisfied and was about to excuse herself to her room. Unfortunately, Kirari wasn’t quite done with her yet.
“So will you use the same method when you share your first kiss as well?”
Ririka fumbled with the silverware before she could place it back on the table. A fatal mistake in the presence of her twin.
“You’ve already kissed then? My, Ririka, you’ve only been together a couple of months. Aren’t you moving a little too fast?” Kirari asked, an amused and all knowing smile pulled at her blue stained lips.
“I assure you my relationship is moving at a normal pace. (Y/n) has been wonderful and hasn’t pushed me into anything before I was ready.”
“Is (Y/n) often the one to make the first move then?”
“If you must know, she is. She has more experience than me when it comes to these things.” Ririka answered, eyeing the grand clock none too discreetly. She hoped Kirari would lose interest soon.
“I see, more experience then.” Kirari nodded thoughtfully.
“Yes,” Ririka sighed, “If you won’t be needing anything else, then I’m going to my room.”
“There was one thing.” Kirari spoke, pausing Ririka in her tracks. “I will be needing the mask for tomorrow. There is something I must observe.”
“Very well.” Ririka answered plainly. She knew if she turned the questions back on her sister she’d be met with riddles and she was too tired to decipher them tonight. Ririka leaned over the large table and set her mask in front of her sister. “Good night.”
“Good night.” Kirari grinned, pulling the mask up to her face just enough to cover her chilling smile. It was an action that was completely performative, that much Ririka knew. If only she could understand just what her sister was up to.
Ririka simply continued on her way, getting ready for bed in her en-suite bathroom before falling into bed and wrapping herself up like a burrito. She reached her arm out for her phone and pulled it into her cocoon, smiling as she read (Y/n)’s goodnight text. She sent one of her own and was about to put her phone back on her charger when she remembered she wasn’t going to be herself tomorrow and frowned. She messaged (Y/n) again to fill her in on the switch as she usually did when they came up. It was something she really felt compelled to do after she and (Y/n) started dating. The last thing Ririka needed was for Kirari to upset (Y/n) while masquerading around as herself. With her message sent, Ririka put her phone back on her nightstand and curled further into her burrow of blankets.
***
(Y/n) walked through the main gates of Haykkaou Academy the next morning, breezing right past the students loitering around, not quite ready to enter the property for one reason or another. Usually Ririka would be waiting nearby, but sadly this was not going to be one of those days.
(Y/n) decided she’d head right into the school and do some work at her desk or maybe gamble with her classmates if they were paying something that caught her interest. She had just finished switching her shoes at her cubby when another pair of feet stopped right beside her.
Craning her head, (Y/n) was very surprised to see a familiar theatre mask smiling down at her. A sight that she had grown used to over the past couple months she had been dating Ririka. (Y/n) stood up, confused but no less delighted by her girlfriend’s sudden appearance.
“Hey! I thought you said you were busy today.” (Y/n) said.
“...” Only a small crackle of static as Ririka took a breath reached (Y/n)’s ears.
“What’s up, is your sister driving you crazy again this morning? Is that why you’re here and not in the council room?” (Y/n) asked, closing her shoe cubby. She knew Ririka wasn’t much of a conversationalist so she wasn’t particularly bothered by the silence, but a, ‘good morning’ would be nice at the very least.
She did not receive a greeting, just a blank stare through the black holes of the mask.
“Well, I was going to go to our classroom and hang out until class started, but if you’d rather go somewhere more quiet we can do that too, what do you think?” (Y/n) asked.
“Let’s do what we normally do together in the morning.” The distorted voice replied. Not that (Y/n) could know for sure, but it almost sounded commanding.
“...Okay then. I’ll just have to change my shoes again real quick.”
(Y/n) changed her shoes and started walking back to the courtyard, pausing momentarily to give Ririka a questioning look as the masked girl watched her move.
“Ririka, are you doing alright?” (Y/n) asked. She felt like she was playing twenty questions without getting any hints.
Ririka tilted her head just slightly before falling into step beside (Y/n). Her knuckles brushed (Y/n)’s hand and made the other girl stare at her oddly from her peripheral but other than that, they continued through the students coming into the school as they left. Ririka was intermittently bumping hands with (Y/n)’s in the process until she surprised (Y/n) by taking her hand completely.
Ririka hardly ever was the first to initiate contact, much less when other students were around to witness it. Even when the president had happened upon them, Ririka would get flustered and shrink away. Now here they were in front of the school’s main entrance surrounded by students, and Ririka had scooped up her hand and laced their fingers like it was nothing. Her hand wasn’t even clammy or shaking at all. Needless to say (Y/n) felt that something was off with Ririka today. In fact, she would bet big money that the person holding her hand right now wasn’t Ririka at all!
(Y/n) knew about the twins tendency to switch off whenever Kirari deemed it necessary, but never had the president bothered with (Y/n) while pretending to be Ririka. Just what was the president doing? (Y/n) decided she’d play along for now, to hold her cards close to her chest until she figured out Kirari’s game. (Y/n) doubled down, curling her fingers over the incessant imposter’s hand.
Once they arrived at their destination, a secluded part of the school forest away from the noisy courtyard, (Y/n) assumed her usual position sitting with her back against a grand old tree. Testing Kirari, she patted the free space between her legs, intending for the president to sit with her back to (Y/n)’s front. Then they could listen to the songs of the forest as (Y/n) normally would with Ririka. Speaking of which, (Y/n) was going to have to apologize for showing Kirari their secret spot. Honestly, Ririka would probably not be too pleased about any of this situation but (Y/n) just had to find out why the president was doing this.
The masked figure loomed above (Y/n) for a moment before beginning her decent, but to (Y/n)’s shock, the other girl took the cue as a signal to straddle her so they were both facing each other. Years of gambling helped (Y/n) hide her horror well, as she smiled the fakest smile to ever exist. Just who the hell did the president think she was? Well, she was trying to be Ririka, but was failing miserably.
Swallowing her urge to lash out at the younger of the Momobami twins, (Y/n) continued to pretend nothing was wrong and continued her reconnaissance, resting her hands over Kirari’s thighs.
“Anything on your mind, Ri? Do you need something?” (Y/n) asked, feeling proud of how smooth and unassuming her voice sounded.
Another crackle of air and a tilt of the head was the only reply (Y/n) received. Really, it was like Kirari didn’t know how to be Ririka at all beyond the mysterious vice president. When Ririka took on Kirari’s role, she did so extremely well. It kind of scared (Y/n) how well Ririka could impersonate her twin. The same could not be said for Kirari. She didn’t seem to know how to act like Ririka at all. At least, not in this instance.
It was a bit infuriating really, to think Kirari actually thought she was getting away with her little charade while putting in so little effort. (Y/n) was about to tell Kirari to get off of her when a hand reached up between them and pulled at the mask, slowly lowering it to hover just above the president’s nose.
Perhaps she wasn’t too bad after all. Downcast eyes, timid yet deliberate movements, even the faint flush of her cheeks seemed legitimate and for a second (Y/n) almost believed her. Almost. But the amusement that seemed to be ever present in the younger twin’s eyes could only hide so deep in crystal blue irises.
“I need you. Show me, show me how you take charge.” The twin’s voice whispered, taking in the cadence of her sister with frightening precision. Yes, the tone was good but the words were so wrong. Ririka would sooner shoot herself in the foot than say something she would consider so embarrassing.
Just what the hell was this girl after? What was she gaining from this torment? Was this some kind of gamble and depending on (Y/n)’s reaction, could be someone’s undoing? What was the right move to make?
“(Y/n), please. Kiss me like we’re doing it for the first time again.”
“What the hell?” (Y/n) couldn’t keep it in anymore, if someone was losing a bet right now she was sorry, but she could only handle so much ridiculousness. “What game are you playing, president?”
(Y/n) tried to wiggle out from underneath Kirari but she held firm, the facade she had put up melted quickly as she allowed the mask to drop on the ground beside them and pushed (Y/n)’s back firmly against the tree trunk with one hand as she grinned down at her fellow classmate. The effect wasn’t quite the same without the striking blue lipstick but it was still enough to make (Y/n) shiver.
“So you did figure it out. I was wondering why you would be holding out on me. I was beginning to think my dear sister was wrong about you.” Kirari mused, eyes glinting. “The only other person that can tell us apart is Sayaka, what gave me away?”
“First, get off of me.” (Y/n) said, making a shooing motion between them that made Kirari giggle as she stood up. “Second, you have to tell me what your goal was in all of this.”
“My goal hmm?” Kirari tapped her chin thoughtfully as (Y/n) got up from the ground as well. “Well, quite simply it was for research.”
“Research about what?”
“About your relationship with my sister.” Kirari answered.
Like that made anything any clearer. (Y/n) pressed a hand over her forehead, the other a firm fist against her hip, “but why?” She asked.
“I think I’m entitled to having my curiosity sated now.” Kirari said instead, looking over her plain, pale nails.
(Y/n) pushed an audible huff of air through her nose, choosing to cross her arms tightly over her chest instead and even going as far as to tap her shoe against ground. Kirari actually rolled her eyes at the display, an action the president wouldn’t give the general masses the pleasure of seeing lest she appear too human.
“I just don’t understand how you and Ririka have only been together for three months and you’re already holding hands and kissing when I’ve been with Sayaka for nearly two years and we have done neither. Ririka said you were the more experienced one, I thought I could learn something from observing you.”
“Wait, you and Igarashi are actually together?” (Y/n) couldn’t believe her ears. Igarashi obviously worshipped the ground Kirari walked on but (Y/n) had always found it hard to understand if Kirari was just stringing her along or not.
“Of course we are. I didn’t build that tower for just anyone.”
Ah yes, Ririka had told (Y/n) about the tower. What lunacy. She would be surprised if Igarashi truly understood what Kirari was going for there.
“Did you actually ask Igarashi to date you point blank or did you just imply it? You should know how her mind works by now.”
“But I don’t. That’s what makes her so spectacular.” Kirari sighed pleasantly.
“Well trust me, if you make your intentions absolutely clear I’m sure you’ll see some changes in your dynamic. Tell you what, let’s go to the student council room and sort this all out now before classes start.”
“Are you hoping for a seat on the council? Is that why you want to get involved?” Kirari smirked.
“I’m just trying to help my girlfriend’s sister so she doesn’t pretend to be her in my presence ever again.” (Y/n) shook her head and started to walk back to the school. She took out her phone and texted Ririka to let her know they were en route, “and I knew it was you because Ririka doesn’t act like that with me. I will not elaborate because the last thing I need is for you to get anymore funny ideas.”
Kirari hummed with amusement before placing the mask back over her face and together they made their way back to the school and up to the council room. Thankfully Ririka must have been able to end the meeting early because only she and Sayaka were left in the room.
“Oh thank god,” (Y/n) sighed walking over to Ririka’s side to rest her forehead against the older twin’s shoulder, making her blush and ruining the carefully crafted persona of her younger sister.
“What are you doing?” Sayaka said indignantly. “You can’t just come in here whenever you wish. Anyone with council business could come in and think you were involved with the president instead of the vice president!”
“Sit down Igarashi, I’m about to do you the biggest favor of your life.” (Y/n) said, lifting her head from Ririka’s shoulder to point at Kirari as she removed the theatre mask and placed in on the table. “Kirari wants to date you.”
Sayaka blinked, processing the words before her skin turned beet red, equal parts embarrassed and angry.
“That’s not funny, Senpai!”
“It’s not a joke! C’mon Kirari, tell her.” (Y/n) said before cupping Ririka’s ear to whisper, “If this doesn’t work out, I’m gonna scream.”
“It’s true Sayaka, though (Y/n)’s approach seems dull and predictable, it has come to my attention that you may not understand that I wish to be with you,” Kirari glided forward, her hair flowing behind her like a curtain, her hand outstretched to Sayaka, “so, hold my hand Say-a-ka, and be mine.”
“Uh oh.” (Y/n) and Ririka muttered in unison as Sayaka babbled, her head moving jerkily between Kirari’s face and her outstretched hand before her knees buckled. She almost hit the ground but Kirari caught her just in time, grinning down at her secretary.
“I told her to sit down.” (Y/n) said, shaking her head.
“It appears that Sayaka needs a nap. You two can head to class, I’ll watch over her.” Kirari said, placing the unconscious secretary on the couch.
“Sure, you just want an excuse to stay out of class.” (Y/n) turned her attention back to Ririka, still in her sister’s make up, braids and annoying ruffled shirt. “Come on Ririka, let me help you get changed real quick.”
“Okay.”
Ririka grabbed her mask from the table and together they headed to one of the side rooms off of the main council room where the twins kept their spare uniforms. While (Y/n) helped Ririka gather her belongings and remove the fresh blue nail polish and smooth out her hair, she told Ririka all about Kirari’s invasive behavior.
“So yeah, it was super weird but I guess it was worth it if it means she’ll be too busy with Sayaka to be too interested in what we’re doing.” (Y/n) explained, brushing Ririka’s hair into place. On the last stroke, she reached in front of Ririka to put the brush back on the table and as she went to withdraw, her wrist was gently encased in Ririka’s hand.
“Ri?”
Ririka tugged on (Y/n)’s arm until she sat down on the bench beside her. It took (Y/n) everything she had not to giggle once she registered the sweet pout the older twin was sporting.
“You held hands with my sister,” Ririka grumped, “you held hands with my sister and let her sit in your lap.”
“Yes, very begrudgingly I did. Only because I wanted to know what she was trying to do, but I promise it’ll never happen again.” (Y/n) spoke seriously.
“Good.” Ririka sighed, resting her head on (Y/n)’s chest, making her laugh.
“We can’t stay here all day. We have about fifteen minutes before we have to get to our classroom and you still haven’t changed your blazer and shirt.”
Ririka whined quietly before tilting her head up to look at (Y/n). “May we, first could you,” Ririka bashfully tapped her lips, still stained with blue, “you know.”
“Happy to,” (Y/n) tucked a strand of Ririka’s hair behind her ear, “let me just wipe that lipstick off first.”
Softly but thoroughly, (Y/n) ran the cleansing wipe across Ririka’s lips a few times until all that remained was muted pink. Then she dabbed at them with a wet washcloth so no trace of the bitter tasting makeup remover remained. As soon as she removed the cloth she leaned in, meeting Ririka lips with her own.
(Y/n) pulled away after a moment, a smile splitting her lips upon witnessing the relaxed and dreamy look on Ririka’s face, her cheeks dusted in a pleasant pink color that complimented her bare lips.
“I’ll wait for you to finish changing and we’ll walk to class together, okay?” (Y/n) said softly.
“One more first, please.” Ririka asked, pulling (Y/n)’s blazer to bring the girl closer.
“Of course.”
Another kiss and the fifteen minute buffer before class became eight minutes and they had three floors worth of stairs to climb. (Y/n) waited for Ririka to finish changing in the hall. She would have waited in the main area of the council room, but Kirari was sitting on the council room couch with that little smirk on her face. Her calculating eyes watching (Y/n) move across the room as the president patted Sayaka’s hair while the secretary remained unconscious with her head in Kirari’s lap.
When Ririka emerged, mask set into place, (Y/n) looked down both ends of the empty hall. When she was satisfied that no one was around, she pulled the mask to the side, surprising Ririka and making the vice president’s breath hitch.
“What?” Ririka asked.
“Just making sure.” (Y/n) replied, kissing Ririka’s nose before covering Ririka’s glowing face with the mask once more.
(Y/n) took Ririka’s hand and they jogged up the stairs, managing to slide into the classroom moments before the teacher.
