'Ew,' hissed Queensly. 'What on earth is that thing?'
'It's a girl, I found her in the woods,' replied Rufus.
'OH OH OH, can we keep it, pleeeeaase? I'll feed it and water it and play with it every day!' yelped Marko.
'Ew, last thing I need is some snot nose brat messing up my purrrfect coat.'
'Agreed,' barked Rufus, 'she needs to go back home, and we're going to take her.'
'Oh no Rufus, you don't mean...'
'WE'RE GOING ON A JOURNEY!'

There was.. at least something unnatural about the giant cat. That for one thing, it was just so fluffy, that it seemed more fluff than anything, with a serious question of where the body itself actually was. If you pushed too much into the fur, would you end up in a secret hidden pocket dimension with no atmosphere, hidden weapons and the imprisoned soul-stone of some long-forgotten ally, sealed away rather than to let her start a war of genocide? The questions abound!
But still, giant eyeless cat seemed moderately normal, at least until R'xy's more anthropomorphic body dropped down. She still took a moment to inspect herself after Serket asked the question, as the big ball of floof yawned so largely that her mouth literally opened up half her body in a massive, disquieting maw, but it closed quickly and returned to 'normal' proportions as it started to mew at Serket.
"~Honestly, it rather does. It feels like I should... have full body fur?" The woman paused, her eyeless gaze still somehow seeming a bit distant for a moment, before her entire frame shifted, the hoodie hiding much of her features. Still the shifting of her own mouth and nose, and the visible grey patches of her arms and legs suddenly sprouting fur spoke to a rather abrupt, if low-energy, transformation. As if that consideration had found an easy way to round off a corner without extra cost.
"There, purrrfect." The now far more feline R'xy said, scratching at her whiskers as she smiled. She lacked the Voice now, but it was still very much her.
The Summoning.
@artificialgrievand
The sound of the beast could be heard for miles, a strange and unearthly noise that none could ignore. Unnatural, unearthly. Inescapable.

Miraculous Flash Forward part 8: Secrets
A Miraculous Fan-Fic
Written By
AJ Dunn
The team had dispersed into the crowd leaving Cat Noir still standing on the stage. He watched his friends dance with his other, secret friends. He knew Nino and Alya were Carapace and Rena Rouge, that Luka was Viperion and He suspected Purple Tigress to be Juleka. As he watched them it all began to make sense in his head. His Closest friends were also his secret friends. He smiled because if he was right, he knew all of their secret identities but they didn’t know his. He had his secrets, and they had theirs, but it was so obvious right now, watching them. He lost sight of Ladybug as he mused over the others.
“Looking for someone.” Ladybug popped up behind him. He was standing on the side of the stage so Jagged could watch his fans as he played for them.
“Can we go somewhere private to talk,” he spoke into her ear. She nodded taking his hand and leading him off the back of the stage through the tent then swung her yo-yo at the balcony above the bakery. Funny, how she had chosen this spot of all places. He couldn’t help but smirked as he thought about all the times he had been on this balcony with her, with Marinette, as himself, as Cat Noir.
“Down here.” She lifted the hatch and dropped into the room where Marinette’s bed used to be. Looking around the room as he followed her he realized it was no longer a bedroom rather a workshop. Racks with hanging clothes, boxes her sewing table, and more filled the room. Ladybug led him to the chaise lounge. Where he sat down next to her. Their hips pulled snugly together as the chaise wasn’t as big as it used to be. Given how much each of them had grown.
Cat took a deep breath, he could smell the vanilla on her. He closed his eyes and swallowed back his emotions.
“What are you thinking about.” She scratched his chin playfully. He let out a tiny purr at the action. He never understood how he did that, but it was only while he was transformed. Maybe it was Plagg.
“You.” He said clearly. “The secrets we have kept from one another all these years, and…”
“And what Kitty.” He looked down at her and smirked. “Well, I guess you’re not so much a Kitty anymore Cat.” She chuckled.
“I took a new name.” He told her changing the subject. He wasn’t sure where he wanted this conversation to go, but he knew he needed to let her in on his new life somehow.
“Oh…?” She sat back looking up at him in a way confused.
“I also have, a new suit,” he said beaming at her. “Wanna see?” Ladybug giggled then walked over to the light switch and flicked it. The room brightened up more than he would have imagined. He stood up and closed his eyes, picturing her design as light filled the room from his toes to his head. When the light died down he opened his eyes to see her hands covering her mouth, eyes wide with surprise. She walked over and began to inspect every crease and fold, every seam, and even the hood. Her attention to detail was a clue to her whole being. “Check this out.” he lifted his belt tail up showing her the signature.
“How…” She mumbled taking his tail in her hands running her thump over the Marinette signature. She looked up at him with awe, her cheeks flushed. “Plagg taught me how.” He smiled. “He said when we first transform, the design of our costume is based on our image of the kwami. Aspik was different from Viperon, Multimouse and Polymouse and even Queen Bee vs Vesperia.”
“Master Fu and Carapace.” Ladybug added.
“Now, Cat Noir and Hei Mao.” she smiled up at him.
“How much you have changed.” she mused. “I haven’t heard a single cat pun this whole time.”
“I’m pawsome I know, but your purrrfect.” He said in jest. She shoved him a bit. “I just studied the costume you designed for the competition.”
“How did you?”
“Felix.” he pointed to his eyes. “Was wearing special glasses that allowed me to see everything as he inspected the costume. I tried it out and it worked better than I thought.” He smiled at her then noticed her face was frozen.
“You said I designed.” Ladybug took a step back. Cat took her by the hand pulling her back as he shook his head.
“Don’t pull away from me.” He pulled her against his chest holding her until his heart slowed down. He pulled her back to the chaise sitting down he pulled her onto his lap. She didn’t fight as she sat sideways on him. He pulled her right arm over his neck then tipped her chin up with his right hand. “I know you love me too, you just don’t know it yet.” He watched her lips as he gently pulled closer to them. His eyes closed as he closed the gap between them. He half expected her to lift a finger to his lips to stop him, but when he felt her lips on his. He knew he was right. Their lips melted into each other as they parted their mouths slightly taking in the full depth of the kiss. Cat dropped his right arm to her hip, his left arm around her back, holding her close to him as she wrapped her left arm around his neck to meet her other hand Time froze in that moment.
“Who are you?” Ladybug finally asked as they parted. He pressed his forehead to hers, his eyes still closed.
“Are you sure you want to know?” he whispered.
“Now, more than ever, I need to know.”
“Do I get to know who you are?” While he was certain he knew, he wanted her to show him.
“I’m sure you’ll just be disappointed.” She sighed turning her head away from him. He pulled her head back as he returned her forehead to his. He kept his eyes closed not sure it hers were open or not.
“Close your eyes.” He whispered. “Plagg, claws in.” He felt the tingle through his body as Plagg zipped out.
“Tikki, spots off.” they sat in silence. Adrien’s mind whirling through all the memories all of the moments they spent in this position. So close yet so far apart, unable to truly know each other unable to see exactly who’s hands they were putting their lives in. He could hear her heart beating heavily in tune with his own. The shivers going down his spine as he sat with his most trusted partner, fully exposed in all his vulnerability and weakness, all his flaws laid bare for her to see.
“I feel like a teenager again.” She whispered.
“Butterflies in your stomach?” he whispered back, as a statement of fact and a question.
“I can’t…” she swallowed. “Breath.”
“Just all the other times as kids when we could have found out could have uncovered the most coveted secret, yet…”
“The most dangerous one of all.” She finished. They weren’t kids anymore, now. It was time to open their eyes. He wasn’t sure who opened their eyes first but when he saw her and his suspicions proved true, he was amused by the look of shock on her face.
“Surprise?” He winced. Her face softened into a smile as she flicked his nose.
“I am so glad we never found out as kids.” Stood up and walked in circles around the room with her face in her hands.
“I knew it was. How did you not figure out that it was me?”
“I mean, I suspected but only when both you and Cat Noir disappeared on the same day, then returned on the same day.” She said. “How did you figure it out.”
“There is no possible way, I could feel this strongly about two different women at the same time.” he teased reaching out for her only to miss as she backed up. “Why is it a good thing you didn’t know when we were kids?”
“I was a babbling mess whenever I was around you!” She slapped her face a couple of times then returned to pacing. “Remember when I gave you Sass?” she stopped walking to look at him.” He nodded. “It wasn’t your fault we failed so many times, I was a complete mess daydreaming the whole time.” Now it was Adrien’s turn to blush. “Had I know that my partner, the boy who put his life in my hands, was the same boy I tripped all over ALL the time, why we would have failed within the first week.” She giggled into her hands and returned to pacing.
“So, you wouldn’t allow yourself to even fathom it was me, because if you thought for one second, you’d get…’
“Flustered yes.” He grabbed her finally pulling her back to his lap. He held her tight against him with her head tucked under his. Then he began to laugh. “What?”
“What if I knew your secret, but you didn’t know mine? Then I would have sought after Marinette instead of Ladybug and you would have gotten over your clumsiness with me.”
Marinette pulled back from him looking serious and even a bit distraught.
“You did find out.” She shook her head. “Somehow, you did.” Shock bolted through his body as yet another secret she kept from him had finally been exposed.
“What? When.” He could feel knots well up in his stomach. She had his first kiss, and the memory of it, which was something he would never have. She kept far more of him than he knew.
“When you saw me dropping off your gift in your room?” He thought back to Saint Athanasius’ day. “You figured it out then.”
“Wait, I remember that day very clearly, and I…”
“You ended up akumatized for some reason, that even I don’t know all the answers to it, I had to fight you but then…” she held a fist to her heart. “You called me Marinette and you destroyed the world, killed everyone in Paris, and said it was our love that did it.” He swallowed hard.
“If I knew you, and I had your love, what could have made me do that?” he said in horror. “How do you not know what happened.”
“Bunnix found me, took me into her burrow, and showed me the outcome, only minutes after I saw you in your room. I originally signed the package Marinette, but my Lucky Charm erased it all, and I erased my name so you wouldn’t figure it out.” He slid her off his lap onto the chaise then stood up. It was his turn to pace.
“So in this alternate timeline, I found out who you were, we fell in love and I destroyed the world. So that must mean.” he paused looking out the window. “It just wasn’t time for us yet.” He willed his emotions to subside as he focused on his breathing. Though Hawk Moth was gone, focusing his breathing and controlling his emotions were the only way he got through the days after his father was arrested. It would have been a nice skill to prevent him from being akumatized since he was one of the few who didn’t have a magical charm to protect him. “It wasn’t the first time Hawkmoth used me to hurt you.” he turned back to her.
“He’s gone now, Adrien.” She whimpered.
“What does that mean for us?” he squatted down in front of her.
“Look at us Adrien, Lady Bug is the ONLY person who knows who Cat Noir is.”
“And what about Ladybug, who else knows about her.” Marinette swallowed.
“You have to understand how hard it was to be so alone as the guardian and how much I needed someone to talk to through it all.”
“Luka.” he snorted then stood up.
“Alya.” She replied. He took a deep breath realizing it would have been her. “She continued to use Trixx to cover my tracks so that Hawk Moth couldn’t follow me, or your or any of the others. She made illusions to lead him astray and watched out for him in case he ever showed his face. That is how we were able to find out where he was hiding.”
“The tunnels through the sewer. “ he remembered how they tracked him down there and followed him to the secret room where he kept Emelie cocooned. They had battled him there, only to discover after removing both miraculous’ from him that he was Gabriel. Cat Noir had run away to his bedroom before anyone else could see him leave. He ran away from the fight, his friends, and his father.
“Are you keeping any other secrets.” He whispered.
“Only the identities of the other holders.” He scoffed
“I already know them.” He said, then named them all off. He looked at Marinette as she looked up shocked. It was easy to figure out once I got passed the fact that Miraculous queen exposed most of them, that you used you trusted your friends, you even gave me one not knowing who I was.” He placed a hand on his chest. “Do you… Love ME?” he asked squatting down infront of her again. He saw her face blush as a single tear began to fall.
“I always will.” She whispered. He wondered why she was crying and hoped he hadn’t hurt her. He was feeling the weight of betrayal. He had to focus on his breathing again before he lost control of his emotions.
“You don’t even know me?” He exclaimed.
“I knew everything about you from your schedule to…”
“You knew Adrien Agreste, or the facade that was perfectly designed by Gabriel Agreste. You love the picture-perfect boy who Paris named the Sunshine boy.” he snorted then stood up. “Until today, you couldn’t even bring yourself to accept the possibility of me being Cat, a persona you didn’t love.” His heart ached so much as he said the words. “You, Marinette, with your midnight hair, and your gorgeous eyes, your strong personality who could rally the troops when times got tough but gave all of yourself for your friends….” He paused looking out the window. “You were perfect, and I imagine you have changed a bit.” He looked back at her to see her face flushed.
“I loved Cat too, I just was…”
“Blinded by the sunshine boy?” He snorted.
“I fell in love with a girl in my class, on my first day of class,” he said softly. “She was fierce, she nearly tore me apart for something I didn’t even do, but she didn’t back down. She put Chloe in her place.” he laughed. “She was kind and generous, but she was true. So honest and despite her alibi’s being lame, she was our everyday Ladybug,” he smirked at her.
“They weren’t lame.” She scoffed
“They were lame.” he laughed squatting in front of her again holding her by the arms. “I loved how cute you were when you were flustered, how you tried to find the right words and messed them all up again, like when I saw your bedroom on TV.” Her face went beat red. “The totographs you called them?”
“I… was…”
“Madly clumsy.” he laughed. “I know, you told me the first time you crashed into me as Ladybug.” I had suspected for a long time, but…” he sighed. “The point is, I know you but you don’t know me.”
“I want to know.” She whimpered again.
“I have secrets too. Some I can’t share with you because they’re not mine to tell you.” He said softly. “I have a life in Shanghai, kids I teach, and I can’t stay here.” He hung his head. “I love you Marinette, but I can’t stay here. Especially after everything that my father did, it’s hard enough staying in my old house.”
“Then why did you come back?” She sobbed.
“To clear the air, between us, and…”
“And what?”
“Offer to return Plagg.”
“You already know I won’t force you to give him back.” She pressed her forehead his the top of his. “It should be his choice.”
“Ma Marinette?” Plagg stuttered. “Do you mean that?”
“Plagg, go,” Tikki said as the two hovered in the air above them. “And maybe Marinette and I  could visit Shanghai for a while so she can get to know the man Adrien has become.” Marinette and Adrien both looked up at the Kwami’s. Tikki shrugged.
“I’ll do it.” Marinette cheered. “I’ll get a small studio apartment so I can do my work from there just as I do here, besides.” She said. “After the wedding tomorrow I am going to be losing my roommate. A smile grew mischievously onto Adrien’s face.
“You know princess…” He took one of her hands to his lips placing a kiss on her knuckles. “I could use a roommate, as long as you can cook better than me.” His smile brightened.
“Don’t put that stipulation on her unless you don’t want her to move in with you.” Plagg scoffed.
“Thanks for that Plagg, I love it when you compliment me sarcastically.” He smirked, “Besides, all of the kwami would be together.”
“Except…” She shifted her eyes, “Trixx and Sass.
“You let Luka keep Sass.” Adrien’s eyes rolled.
“Sass thought it would be a good idea.”
“Doesn’t he have kids now?”
“Yes, twins, and no they don’t know about him.” Marinette was confident that it was still safe.
“Anyway, if your serious about coming to Shanghai, even if it is for a short time, Let me know, I am serious about you becoming my roommate.” He stood up and gazed out the window. “Maybe we should head back and rejoin our friends before two more of them get married and have kids.”
“Plagg claws out.”
“Tikki, spots on.”
As they were leaving the balcony they could hear Tom opening the hatch.
“Marinette, is that you are you in here?” they both laughed quietly then headed back to the party.

Trying to maintain my fandom celibate feels like this:
Tumblr media
...if one lets everybody know how bitter they're over the ship, and constantly diminish character they supposedly love so much because the said ship is, well, dead now, they're not asking for attention, and, in fact, being praised for their Deep Insight ™ and whatnot.
But those who advocate for the character(s) development other than jumping into bed and fuck (which isn't a bad thing; I love a good sex between characters, but it's only good when the buildup to it, and to their relationship isn't so on the nose, let's-lick-fans'-ass-style), are boo-boo.
Aaaaaalrighty then.
Damn, I'm getting more and more confident I've made the right choice of leaving this dumpster fire—let it rot along with those who have been fucked over by tptb this season.
Back into my purrrfect world of damn good stories and character development.

July. Two. Five.
Ooh they’re telling math jokes now...
Q: What do you get if you divide the circumference of a jack-o-lantern by its diameter?
A: Pumpkin Pi!
The math geeks I’m stuck on this bus with think that this is funny. So funny in fact, that the harpy sitting in front of me shoots milk out of her nose when she hears the punch line. I don’t think it’s funny at all. I’d rather be listening to the music I have stored on my iCoffin but two hours into our five-hour ride home my iCoffin gave up the ghost. It should have lasted the whole trip and then some except that one of my math camp roomies “accidentally” unplugged my iCoffin charger last night when she plugged in her fright light. I don’t even know why a ghost needs a fright light. What? Was she afraid she would trip over something and go “bump in the night?” I realized what happened when we woke up this morning but we had to leave first thing so I didn’t have time to put a full charge on it. At least I got enough battery life to block out the two hours dedicated to the singing of “X Number Bottles of Ghoul Juice on the Wall.” To add to the misery the seats on this bus only have room for two monsters and Meowlody and Purrsephone are of course sitting together which left me stuck in a seat next to a troll named Teala who had never been away from her bridge for more than a day until she came to math camp.She cried herself to sleep every night. Not that any other monster but me noticed but then again I notice everything. I also noticed Teala wasn’t laughing at any of the math jokes either. In fact she seemed to be more miserable than I was. Well now, here I was thinking she was missing her bridge but if that were the case why didn’t she seem excited about going home? “Dish,” I said. She turned and looked at me for a moment and then stared back ahead. “Okay - suit yourself then,” I said and then tried to curl up in the seat to take a cat nap which I had almost accomplished when she said; “My boy-fiend broke up with me...by text...the first night of math camp.” She still wasn’t looking at me but she wasn’t crying either. “He was my first real boyfriend and...and I don’t know why I’m telling you ‘cause you don’t seem to care about any monster besides yourself and you’ll probably figure out a way to use this to make me even more miserable.” I didn’t show it, but that really hurt. Just because I enjoy the chaos that a good practical joke brings doesn’t mean that I’m intentionally cruel does it? I don’t think it does and besides; where’s the fun of kicking some monster when they’re already down? It’s a lot more fun to see the surprise on a monster’s face when they think they’ve got it all together and you can “help them” see that they don’t. So I said, “Guess you better tell me the whole story then so I can do a thorough job.” That actually brought a ghost of a smile to her face. Teala told me that her ex boy-fiend was applying to colleges and that he decided he needed to keep his “options open” in case he might meet his “intellectual equal” at school. At first I didn’t believe he actually wrote that and then she showed me the text. “Does he really think he’s that smart,” I asked. She kind of shrugged and said, “He’s scary smart but not as good at math as I am, especially withy differential equations.” She told me he really wanted to get into this one school because his favorite mad scientist taught there. I’d never heard of the school but I knew who the mad scientist was because Mr. Hack made use watch a bunch of his videos in class. The videos were deadly boring but the mad scientist had this odd accent and strange speech pattern. I used to mimic his voice in class to make Mr. Hack jump. I’d wait until Mr. Hack’s back was turned and then scream, “Huhhacckkk - theeese stuuudannts reeelease youuu wuh-ill ah-yuat wa-unce!” It cost me several days in detention and a trip to Headless Headmistress Bloodgood’s office the last time I mimicked the mad scientist but even Mr. Hack admitted he couldn’t tell the difference between the scientist’s voice and my imitation of it. We talked about a few more things and then Teala finally fell asleep. I was able to finally fall asleep as well but not before having to hear another math joke followed by an explosion of milk from the seat in front of me.
July. Two. Eight.
I went to MH today to pick up some pictures I left in the FearBook office. When I was done I went up to the belfry. It’s a good place to keep an eye on things without other eyes watching you. It’s also a good place to take a nap. Usually the hunchback who rings the bells...the bells...works up there but he was on summer vacation in France or somewhere so I had the place to myself; until Spectra came floating through that is. She thinks that she’s very stealthy but it’s almost impossible to sneak up on me and I heard the rattle of her chains long before she actually appeared. I pretended to be asleep for a moment then with my eyes still closed I said, “What do you want Spectra?” “Oh, hello Toralei. Did you hear the news?” Most monsters don’t trust anything they hear from Spectra. I know better. There’s always an element of truth in her “news”. You just need to know how to listen. Here’s an example; Spectra told me she heard that Nefera is moving back to town and will be taking over for Ms. Kindergruber in Home Ick. Not only that but Ms. Kindergruber is also going to quit teaching to become a roadie for her favorite rock and roll band. Now as much fun as it is to imagine Ms. K. climbing stacks of amps while wearing a sleeveless leather vest, bandana and steel toed boots it’s not going to happen. Although when compared to the thought of Nefera actually “lowering herself” to teach, it’s practically a done deal Ms K will be hitting the road. I’m pretty sure out of that confusing jumble of information the one true fact is that Nefera is moving back to town and probably sooner rather than later...now there’s a monster who enjoys kicking some body when it’s down.
July. Three. Zero.
Got an email today from Teala, the troll girl I sat with on the ride home from math camp. Apparently her ex boy-fiend told her that he got a call from the mad scientist he wanted to study under. The scientist told her ex that his test scores indicated a “skuhh-ill weeeakness in diffuhh-wrenntial eeeequay-shunns” and that her ex should find some monster that was intellectually superior and “geeet sah-ummm tuutorr-ing”. Her ex was certain it was the professor since “no monster could fake that voice.” He also apologized to Teala for being an arrogant jerk and asked if she would tutor him in differential equations. Teala told him that she would have to check her schedule. Sometimes it is just purrrecious the way things work out for the beast.
August. One. Three.
I bought a ball of dragon thread today for Sweet Fangs. It’s just about the only material that’s strong enough to survive more than one play session with her. I don’t know what I’m going to do when Sweet Fangs gets bigger because I’m probably going to need the whole dragon and I’m not sure mom and dad are gong to be good with that.
August. Two. Five.
M&P came over today. They’re like my sisters and I can’t imagine how boring unlife would be without them. We do just about everything together and some monsters even think we’re related but we’re not. Not that it matters since we don’t really care what other monsters think anyway. We are who we are and any monster or monsters that want to try and herd us better get ready for a long miserable day. Today we weren’t worried about being herded, today was a brainstorm session. Our mission, repay Cleo de Nile and her minions for not only ruining our perfectly planned graduation prank but also for taking away part of our valuable summer vacation by “arranging” our trip to math camp. Knowing that it was Cleo who got the better of us is almost as irritating as being wet or having my fur stroked the wrong way. I can’t believe that I actually helped her when she first wanted to be a part of the Fear Squad. Cleo didn’t even know how to do a cartwheel, much less a round off. So I took her under my claw and taught her everything I knew and since I’d been doing gymnastics from the time I was a kitten I knew a lot. I finally got Cleo to the point where she started to “get it” and instead of being a liability she started contributing. I figured that for all my hard work and leadership Nefera would make me the Fear Squad captain when she graduated. Only she didn’t - she passed it onto Cleo. I can still remember what Nefera said to me when I confronted her about it. “I didn’t want Cleo to succeed - I wanted her to be humiliated but since you helped her, you get to deal with the consequences.” Then Cleo acted as if she deserved to be the captain and that she automatically knew everything there was to know about leading the Fear Squad. She should have showed some humility and stepped aside. She didn’t so now it’s up to me to teach her some new lessons and I can’t wait for class to be back in session.
August. Three. One.
There’s a meteor shower tonight, which will give us the purrrfect opportunity to practice the three D’s. Divert. Design. Demure. First I divert attention away from myself - although tonight the meteor shower should do that for me, next I design a “surprise” for my intended victim student and then after the unexpected happens I demure - “Oh my, what happened here?” More later...
Ended up scraping the three D’s tonight, mostly because the meteor shower diverted me. I was supposed to meet M&P at this coffee shop down close to the beach - it’s the only time I go to the beach since sand + water + fur = unhappy werecat - but they were late so I grabbed a catnipuccino and waited. The owner turned down the lights of the shop so it was almost dark and then the sky was falling. The ghouls showed up just as somewhere down the beach a monster started playing guitar and I said, “Just because we’ve got nine lives doesn’t mean we need to rush through this one.” And we didn’t.

So instead of writing my lesson plan that’s due tomorrow, I decided to write Miraculous fan fiction that happens right after Miracle Queen. It’s Marichat and a bit angsty. Warnings for spoilers for the finale. Also I didn’t edit at all so apologies for any mistakes. It’s my first finished story so fingers crossed that it’s at least kind of good.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Marinette learned on the railing of her balcony. A lot had happened in the last week, and now it was all catching up to her. Master Fu, Hawkmoth, everything felt like it was happening all at once and in slow motion all at once. Tikki and Wayzz flitted around the balcony, probably catching up from years apart. Marinette sighed and fiddled with the bracelet she now had. For her, the turtle miraculous became a turtle shell with a pink flower pattern on its back. It was different enough that she didn’t have to take it off to avoid suspicion. And Wayzz was helpful with giving her guardian tips. The Miracle Box was still sealed, and Marinette was just waiting for the day she could figure out how to get it back open.
Hawkmoth had been suspiciously quite recently, probably upset he had to start back at square one for figuring out the Guardian’s (and Ladybug’s) new identity. It had given her time to think about all of the responsibilities on her shoulders. School, being the savior of Paris, finding Hawkmoth. It was, to say the least, a lot.
She hadn’t told Tikki yet, but the thought of letting someone else be Ladybug had crossed her mind a couple of times. She had made a mistake and it cost her Master Fu and the identities of the other Miraculous users. She knew Tikki would hate the idea, and refute everything she said. So she was going to talk to Wayzz about it first... if she could find the time to do so.
Marinette heard a familiar sound of a cat landing behind her. A wave of relief washed over her when she turned around and saw the Tikki and Wayzz had flitted out of sight of Chat Noir.
“Didn’t mean to startle you,” he started. “I just saw you out here and figured you could use some company.”
“Oh, um, yeah sure.” She gestured for him to come stand by her on the balcony. “Why are you out so late?”
“Oh you know, just prowling around Paris. Getting some fresh air.”
“I see.” She turned back to look out over the Paris night sky. The air was warm, and there was a faint breeze blowing against her face. The lights of the city twinkled, and there were sounds of cars honking and driving quickly by. Having such a crowded city to take responsibility for was such a crushing weight. All of Paris. It’s residents, it’s tourists, everyone. How was she going to be the Guardian and Ladybug and a student?
“You OK, Marinette?” Chat’s voice startled her out of her thoughts. Just a couple weeks ago, she was confiding to him about her feelings about being Ladybug. Maybe, he could help her with her problem.
She sighed. “You ever feel like you’re trying too hard to do everything everyone expects of you, and you feel like you can never do it right?”
Chat Noir chuckled in agreement. “All the time.”
“I know you’re a superhero and you have a civilian life, how do you do it?”
“Ah well that’s a purrrfect question m’lady.”
She laughed at his silly pun. How could he do that? Make her feel like there really wasn’t anything to worry about?
“But a little nosey don’t you think?” He bopped her lightly on the nose with a finger. “Wouldn’t want you figuring out who the claw-some person behind this mask is.”
She felt her face get red a little. Why was she feeling like this?
“R-right, yeah, sorry. I didn’t mean to be intruding.” She sighed. “I’m sorry, it’s just, recently I feel like everybody wants me to figure everything out. I have school and the bakery, and extra curriculars I’m trying to keep up with. Things that take up all of my time and I have to constantly be somewhere. I don’t have time to be myself or do things I enjoy anymore.”
“Well, if anyone can do it, it’s you.” She felt Chat touch her shoulder, and she turned to face him. The smile he gave her was soft a reassuring. “I saw how you helped Ladybug and I when our backs were against the wall as Multimouse. If there is anyone who can handle anything thrown her way, it’s you Marinette.”
Marinette smiled, but she could still feel the tears about to break. “What if it’s too much? What if the girl you saw as Multimouse made clumsy and awkward and has made mistakes that get people hurt?” There was no stopping the tears. “And I’ve just had to endure it and feel guilty about it every time.”
Chat hugged her. The embrace was similar to when they were hugging in the Seine, when she had confided in him then. Except now it was Marinette and Chat Noir. It felt different. It felt like it was a long overdue hug. A type of hug that was reassuring and felt like nothing else mattered in the world as long as you were with that person.
“Mari, I don’t know what you are going through, but I know that you are strong and you will get through it. Whatever mistakes you made, they were only that. Mistakes. We can’t feel guilty about it, we just have to accept that they happened and learn from them.”
She sunk into his chest, sniffling. She felt his hand on her head, gently smoothing her hair down. “Mari?” He asked gently.
“I’m OK,” she responded softly. She pushed herself back to look at him, and started giggling. “I’m tired, I guess.” She wiped away tears. Chat didn’t look convinced. He put both hands on her shoulders.
“Would you like to talk about it more?”
She shook her head. “No, tell me about you. I don’t want to think about me anymore.”
Chat thought for a minute, thinking of things he could tell her without being revealing. “Well, you’re a girl...”
“How observant.” She rolled her eyes. “You need girl advice? Without being too specific perhaps?” Something in her heart twinged when she suggested he needed dating advice.
“Well, not really advice.” He shifted his feet, not knowing what to really say. “Just someone to talk to.” Mari walked over to a chair and sat down. She patted the seat next to her. She could feel her heart pounding, wondering what he was going to say. She had noticed he had stoped calling Ladybug affectionate nicknames. Maybe he did find a girlfriend? But why did that notion seem to hurt so much? Maybe she was just projecting what she had felt about Adrien onto Chat. She made a point of ignoring how her heart was in her throat, or how when he looked at her with his soft green eyes, her face flushed.
“And so she kissed me, and I really like her. But it wasn’t what I thought it was going to be.”
‘Oh shoot, he started talking,’ she thought.
“I wasn’t disappointed with it. It was just...sudden. And romance isn’t what I thought it was going to be. I thought that if Ladybug and I ever became a couple, it would be so fairytale like. And with this other girl, I don’t have the same love at first sight feeling. It’s nice, but there is also another girl I like who I thought was just a friend, but she’s really special to me. And I’m not sure how to tell the girl I kissed how conflicted I’m feeling. I don’t want to hurt her.”
“Maybe love at first sight isn’t real,” Marinette chimed in, not having listened to anything after “love at first sight” and not really thinking about what she was saying. “Maybe love is friendships growing into something more.” She looked over at Chat, noticing he was staring at her as if she had just said something profound. She reflected on her relationship with Adrien, and how she thought about that day he gave her the umbrella. How she saw him and in that moment she “fell in love”. Was it real? It had certainly felt real. But, how can you love someone if you don’t know them. “I used to like this boy, and I thought that I loved him. I took one look and I was head over heels, obsessed. Almost to a comical point.” She laughed at herself and her crazy schedules, following Adrien around, trying to have a conversation with him. “And there is something about friendships that can grow into something more. For example our friendship-“ she realized what she said and the context of it. It wasn’t what she was going for but now she had said it and Chat Noir was looking at her with wide eyes. “I-I mean....uhhhh I didn’t mean we’d be something more. I just meant that we’ve grown as lovers. I mean friends! Like I like how I’ve gotten to know you. I mean we are getting to know each other....”
She put her head in her hands. “Sorry...” she muttered. She heard a Chat Noir laugh a bit.
“It’s ok Mari, I know what you meant.”
Why was she suddenly stuttering around him? Why was she acting like how she acted around Adrien? Oh god... did she? No, she was just talking about how love at first sight wasn’t real. But that was the problem, it wasn’t. They had grown as friends, and the more she got to know him, the more she felt comfortable around him. And definitely a little tongue tied. Her mind went back to that hug in the Seine. How comforting her partners embrace felt. It was him and her against the world. That’s what he had said. They were partners that trusted each other no matter what.
“Marinette? I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset you. We don’t have to talk about my girl problems.”
“It’s ok, sometimes I trip over my words and say the wrong thing.”
“I know,” he laughed. “It’s fine, I’m overly flirtatious. And obtuse,” he added. Marinette smiled at her partner. It was nice to have someone with her who poked fun at them self and eased the tension. “I mean, Ladybug told me so many times that she wasn’t interested. And I never took the hint.”
“I tried to tell the guy I liked that I liked him multiple times and he never took the hint either.”
“Well, he was missing out then,” Chat commented. Marinette’s face flushed bright red. Oh why would he say something like that. And why did he have to flash that dopey smile.
She shrugged. “Not really. Adrien is a model and great at everything. Besides, I’m clumsy and awkward and well, it wouldn’t have worked out anyways.” Did she have to tell him all of this? It hurt, but it was a faded hurt. Like after an injury has healed, but then the weather changes and you can feel it again. She glanced at her kitty, who was a bright red color and wide eyed.
“Adrien...Agrest?”
“Yeah. Silly right? Just another fanatic with a supermodel crush.” She made a wide armed gesture around her head. “He goes to school with me, and...” she thought a bit. Should she tell him this? Well, she was already venting so might as well. “He, gave me an umbrella the first day back at school. And the whole time after that, I thought I loved him. But I barely knew him! I stuttered my words and acted foolish.” She sighed. “Wow, that feels good to talk about with someone else. Obviously my best friend Alya knows... but she’s heard the story multiple times. And telling it to new people, especially now that I know how silly it sounds...thank you.”
Chat Noir looked like he had seen a ghost.
“Are you OK?” He nodded.
“Mari, what if told you, that that guy is stupid.”
“What?!” Now She was feeling anger. That was her friend. And it wasn’t his fault he didn’t like her back. Besides, now that she definitely, totally, and completely didn’t have feelings for him, she liked their friendship a lot more. “Take that back right now. I was talking about my own feelings. Adrien Agrest is one of the nicest people I know. He’s genuine and caring and smart. He’s the greatest model in Paris, and he’s stood up for me multiple times.” She stood up as she said this, letting fury get the best of her. “And now that we are friends I know him better. And I know that he would never hurt me and that it was my own feelings that got in the way of being friends with him.” She was pacing now. “Of course I would’ve liked to date him. Who wouldn’t? But he’s in love with someone else and it hurt a lot but he’s happy and I’m happy and everyone’s happy!”
She turned to face her partner, about to yell at him some more, but realized how his ears had turned back. He sitting straight up, and staring straight ahead.
“I’m so sorry,” he whispered.
She felt guilt wash over her. She had yelled at him when he was just trying to make her happy. “Please don’t be. You were just trying to cheer me up...I...I didn’t mean to explode at you...”
“Mari, you don’t get it. I’m sorry. For all of that pain I caused you. For everything. I should have known.”
What was he even talking about. He had only said something that struck a nerve accidentally. He didn’t mean to? Why did he look so sad?
“If I had known...If I hadn’t been so dense...” He walked over to her and put a hand on her cheek. Such a small gesture, but one that made Marinette’s heart flutter again. “Things would’ve been different. And maybe, they eventually will be. My everyday Ladybug.” He leaned down and kissed her on the cheek.
And then he was gone. She saw his silhouette against the Parisian lights until he was a dot in the distance.
Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?
Summary: In which Emma wants Mommy and Daddy to come build a snowman with her, and Adrien has the purrrfect idea on how to ask Mari.
Fic:
"Daddy! Daddy!" Emma called, knocking on his door.
"Yes, Sweetie?" He called back.
"Can we go outside? I wanna play in the snow, and build a snowman!" She replied, excitedly.
"Really?" He said, opening his door.
"Yep! I wanna build one just like Olaf!"
As a child, Frozen had been one of his favorite movies, and he had been delighted that when he'd showed it to Emma, and it had become her favorite as well.
He picked up his daughter, and spun her around, her giggling in glee.
He put her down, telling her, "Let's get you ready, and then we'll build a snowman, just like Olaf." He agreed.
"But Mommy has to come to." She said, with a pout.
When she was pregnant with Emma, she had feared that she'd turn out like Gabriel, too absorbed in her work to care for her family, and Adrien had told her time and time again, how they'd be fine, and he'd make sure of it. As it was, she was currently in her mini 'design studio,' working on her day off.
"I'll see if Mommy wants to join us." And he had the purrrfect way to ask her. "Now, why don't you head to your room? Mommy will hopefully be there soon to help you get ready."
"Okay, Daddy!" She said excitedly, running off to her room.
He looked over to Mari's studio door.
Now to actually ask her. He knew she'd asked to be alone, having a bunch of ideas she wanted to sketch out before she forgot them, but she'd also told him if it had to do with Emma, or family time in general, to literally "break that door down, and force me to leave that room". Maybe she wouldn't be to mad? Especially with what he was about to do.
He was now standing in front of the door.
Knock. Knock. Kn-Knock. Knock.
He opened the door, and poked his head through.
"Do you wanna build a-"
"Absolutely not." She said, not even dignifying him with a look.
She was so engrossed in her sketching, she thought he'd actually left.
"But-"
"Adrien, I'm busy. I'll be down soon."
She'd told him that two hours ago, when he'd come in to bring her lunch.
"But Emma-"
She looked up.
That always worked.
"Is she okay? Did something happen?"
"She wants you to come build a snowman with us."
She shook her head, "I can't believe I didn't pick that up from your entry."
"I have been waiting for this day for a long time." He admitted, with a large grin.
She rolled her eyes, standing up, and making her way towards him.
"So, exactly, where is Emma now?"
"In her room, waiting for you to help her get ready."
She went up on her toes, and placed a kiss on his lips.
"I guess I'd better go then."
And she left, walking over to Emma's room.
He sighed, leaning against the doorway.
God, he loved that woman.
-x-
It was cold, the ground covered in snow. There was even a light snow fall, making it look almost magical. Emma was bundled up in a few jackets, two pairs of socks, gloves, a hat, and a light blue scarf. She'd inherited Marinette's- Ladybug's- hate for the cold, but she was also very persistent, and if her friends at school could do it, so could she.
"Mommy!" She called. "Help me make a big snowball for the bottom!"
"All right sweetheart," She said, walking over to her, "Let's do this."
While they did that, Adrien created the middle piece, and allowed Emma to help him put it on top of the body she and Mari made. Then Emma made the head, with a little help of course. She found two sticks, and attached them as arms. She ran into Marinette's sewing room for some black buttons to use as the mouth, eyes, and, well, buttons. She also found a black hat to use. She even took of her scarf, wrapping it around the snowman's neck.
"It's missing something..." She said, tapping her chin, deep in thought.
Adrien and Marinette thought it was the cutest thing ever.
"What is it, Sweetie?" Marinette asked.
"I know! We need a carrot for his nose!" She cried, running back to the house.
Adrien and Marinette looked at each other, and rolled their eyes, running after her.
Emma grabbed a carrot from the kitchen, and rushed back outside, carefully attaching it.
"What do you think?" Adrien asked.
"It's awesome!" She squealed.
She then ran around behind it, and carefully grabbed the 'arms'.
In the deepest voice she could manage, she said, "Hi, I'm Olaf, and I like warm hugs!"
They all started laughing.
It truly was a wonderful day.
5 Hot Trends in Women’s Sunglasses for 2020
The ice is slowly melting - a reminder to us all that summer is just around the corner. Along with shorts, tank tops, and sandals, sunglasses are in sight! Of course, sunglasses aren’t just for summer. They’re a fashion statement and sun shield year-round.
Find out what summer sunglasses fashions are expected to be top hits and which celebrities are wearing them.
1. Cat Eye Frames
Meow! Women love their cat-eye sunglasses. This kind of frame follows the brow line but features an upsweep at the outer edge.
Cat-eye frames hit the scene in the 50s and were still wildly popular in the 60s. Women could be seen sporting frisky cat eyes along with beehive hairdos. The fact that they are retro makes them even more attractive. Some things never really go out of style.
While the feline frame frenzy tapered off to give way to “bug-eye frames” that stole the show in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, they are definitely in style again and are purrrfect for the summer to come.
Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor wore cat-eye styles “back in the day.” Check out these classy celebs in their cat eyes today!
We offer these  cat-eye style frames from Dazey Shades:
We’ve got other types of cat-eye style sunglasses & readers here.
2. Shield Sunglasses
For protection and fashion, stylish women turn to shield style sunglasses. Shield sunglasses stretch continually across the face, which actually promotes peripheral vision and enhances the perception of depth.
The lenses are typically polarized, making them superb for activities in the summer sun like sailing and water skiing and are great to wear in the winter to protect against the snow’s glare.
Shield sunglasses come in a myriad of options in styles, shapes, and sizes. You’ll find the shielding lenses in plenty of colors too, from ocean blue to black and even brown. Shield shades are going to be seen everywhere this summer!
We’ve got some great shield sunglasses in stock now:
3. Oversized Frames
In the 80s, everyone liked to do things in a big way. Sunglasses were no exception. Oversized frames are excellent for extreme shading. If your eyes are super sensitive to the sun, or if you spend a lot of time in the sun, Oversized frames are a great choice.
Often seen in bright colors with bright colored lenses to match (or not match), Oversized frames were once all the rage. Singer Elton John was never caught without his on.
Guess what? Oversized frames are back, and they’re bigger than ever this year. You’ll find them in a wide variety of shapes, colors, and sizes.
Take a look at these Dazey Shades Oversized Frame sunglasses:
4. Aviator / Bridge on Top Frames
Just as the name implies, bridge on top frames have...well, the bridge of the frames on top. Aviator-style frames use this type of design.
While this style of shades has been around for a good long time, there are some new spins on them this year, making them one of the most trending sunglasses right now and for the summer to come.
While most sunglasses have a bridge over the nose only, bridge on top frames have an upper edge on comfort and on style, and they’ll be out in full force this summer.
These are some of our best women’s aviator styles:
DS173:
DS129:
5. Brown Lenses
Brown lenses are ideal because they have a dark enough tint to block out the sun’s glare and also reduce eye-strain. Brown lenses don’t distort colors as much as black ones do.
Lenses with some red in the tint, such as Brown and Amber Lenses are great for improving depth perception. That means they’re fantastic to wear when you are going to be driving, playing sports, or engaged in an activity that requires you to judge distance. And...brown lenses will be really rockin’ this summer.
Here is one of our best styles with brown lenses:
Grade the Shade
Sunglasses are designed to do more than just make you look cool. Exposure to the sun’s harmful rays can ruin your eyesight and cause a multitude of health issues. Too much ultraviolet (UV) rays may lead to macular degeneration, cataracts, pterygia, pingueculae, and photokeratitis.
Not all sun shades provide protection from UV light. Most do, however - some more than others. For the maximum protection that’s available, choose a pair that has a high grade of UV blockage. The price of your sunglasses doesn’t denote the extent of their protection. So, be sure to check out the actual rating.
You’ll want to go with a pair that blocks out UVB rays too. Sunglasses that wrap around or that are large will shield better than smaller shades.
Shaping up with Summer Sunglasses
Summer will be here before you know it. It’s not too early to start thinking about what kind of sunglasses your customers will be wearing when it arrives. In fact, it’s not too early to go ahead and stock up.
Here are some things to consider regarding choosing the right sunglasses. We’ve also written an article on how to select sunglasses and about the different parts of sunglasses:
Be sure the shape of your shades compliments your face. Round frames are good pics for square-shaped faces. Square and rectangle-shaped sunglasses offset round and oblong faces.
Match up your shades with your lifestyle, the activities you like to do, and your wardrobe (color, style, etc.)
The size of your sunglasses should coordinate with the size of your face. If your face and your facial features are small, you don’t want to overshadow them by going with large frames.
Sometimes, you just want to toss out all the rules and have a blast. If that’s the case, just do it!
Oh, and one more thing...there’s nothing that says you can’t have two pairs of sunglasses...or three...or... Then, you can choose the pair that best fits what you’re wearing and what you are doing every single day of the summer.
This summer’s line-up for trending sunglasses is a mix of retro, sophistication, and playfulness.
Get on out there and enjoy the fun. Reach for the sun...and the sunglasses too.
Diary of Toralei Stripe
Better have nine lives if I catch you reading my diary.
July. Two. Five.
Ooh they’re telling math jokes now...
Q: What do you get if you divide the circumference of a jack-o-lantern by its diameter?
A: Pumpkin Pi!
The math geeks I’m stuck on this bus with think that this is funny. So funny in fact, that the harpy sitting in front of me shoots milk out of her nose when she hears the punch line. I don’t think it’s funny at all. I’d rather be listening to the music I have stored on my iCoffin but two hours into our five-hour ride home my iCoffin gave up the ghost. It should have lasted the whole trip and then some except that one of my math camp roomies “accidentally” unplugged my iCoffin charger last night when she plugged in her fright light. I don’t even know why a ghost needs a fright light. What? Was she afraid she would trip over something and go “bump in the night?” I realized what happened when we woke up this morning but we had to leave first thing so I didn’t have time to put a full charge on it. At least I got enough battery life to block out the two hours dedicated to the singing of “X Number Bottles of Ghoul Juice on the Wall.” To add to the misery the seats on this bus only have room for two monsters and Meowlody and Purrsephone are of course sitting together which left me stuck in a seat next to a troll named Teala who had never been away from her bridge for more than a day until she came to math camp.She cried herself to sleep every night. Not that any other monster but me noticed but then again I notice everything. I also noticed Teala wasn’t laughing at any of the math jokes either. In fact she seemed to be more miserable than I was. Well now, here I was thinking she was missing her bridge but if that were the case why didn’t she seem excited about going home? “Dish,” I said. She turned and looked at me for a moment and then stared back ahead. “Okay - suit yourself then,” I said and then tried to curl up in the seat to take a cat nap which I had almost accomplished when she said; “My boy-fiend broke up with me...by text...the first night of math camp.” She still wasn’t looking at me but she wasn’t crying either. “He was my first real boyfriend and...and I don’t know why I’m telling you ‘cause you don’t seem to care about any monster besides yourself and you’ll probably figure out a way to use this to make me even more miserable.” I didn’t show it, but that really hurt. Just because I enjoy the chaos that a good practical joke brings doesn’t mean that I’m intentionally cruel does it? I don’t think it does and besides; where’s the fun of kicking some monster when they’re already down? It’s a lot more fun to see the surprise on a monster’s face when they think they’ve got it all together and you can “help them” see that they don’t. So I said, “Guess you better tell me the whole story then so I can do a thorough job.” That actually brought a ghost of a smile to her face. Teala told me that her ex boy-fiend was applying to colleges and that he decided he needed to keep his “options open” in case he might meet his “intellectual equal” at school. At first I didn’t believe he actually wrote that and then she showed me the text. “Does he really think he’s that smart,” I asked. She kind of shrugged and said, “He’s scary smart but not as good at math as I am, especially withy differential equations.” She told me he really wanted to get into this one school because his favorite mad scientist taught there. I’d never heard of the school but I knew who the mad scientist was because Mr. Hack made use watch a bunch of his videos in class. The videos were deadly boring but the mad scientist had this odd accent and strange speech pattern. I used to mimic his voice in class to make Mr. Hack jump. I’d wait until Mr. Hack’s back was turned and then scream, “Huhhacckkk - theeese stuuudannts reeelease youuu wuh-ill ah-yuat wa-unce!” It cost me several days in detention and a trip to Headless Headmistress Bloodgood’s office the last time I mimicked the mad scientist but even Mr. Hack admitted he couldn’t tell the difference between the scientist’s voice and my imitation of it. We talked about a few more things and then Teala finally fell asleep. I was able to finally fall asleep as well but not before having to hear another math joke followed by an explosion of milk from the seat in front of me.
July. Two. Eight.
I went to MH today to pick up some pictures I left in the FearBook office. When I was done I went up to the belfry. It’s a good place to keep an eye on things without other eyes watching you. It’s also a good place to take a nap. Usually the hunchback who rings the bells...the bells...works up there but he was on summer vacation in France or somewhere so I had the place to myself; until Spectra came floating through that is. She thinks that she’s very stealthy but it’s almost impossible to sneak up on me and I heard the rattle of her chains long before she actually appeared. I pretended to be asleep for a moment then with my eyes still closed I said, “What do you want Spectra?” “Oh, hello Toralei. Did you hear the news?” Most monsters don’t trust anything they hear from Spectra. I know better. There’s always an element of truth in her “news”. You just need to know how to listen. Here’s an example; Spectra told me she heard that Nefera is moving back to town and will be taking over for Ms. Kindergruber in Home Ick. Not only that but Ms. Kindergruber is also going to quit teaching to become a roadie for her favorite rock and roll band. Now as much fun as it is to imagine Ms. K. climbing stacks of amps while wearing a sleeveless leather vest, bandana and steel toed boots it’s not going to happen. Although when compared to the thought of Nefera actually “lowering herself” to teach, it’s practically a done deal Ms K will be hitting the road. I’m pretty sure out of that confusing jumble of information the one true fact is that Nefera is moving back to town and probably sooner rather than later...now there’s a monster who enjoys kicking some body when it’s down.
July. Three. Zero.
Got an email today from Teala, the troll girl I sat with on the ride home from math camp. Apparently her ex boy-fiend told her that he got a call from the mad scientist he wanted to study under. The scientist told her ex that his test scores indicated a “skuhh-ill weeeakness in diffuhh-wrenntial eeeequay-shunns” and that her ex should find some monster that was intellectually superior and “geeet sah-ummm tuutorr-ing”. Her ex was certain it was the professor since “no monster could fake that voice.” He also apologized to Teala for being an arrogant jerk and asked if she would tutor him in differential equations. Teala told him that she would have to check her schedule. Sometimes it is just purrrecious the way things work out for the beast.
August. One. Three.
I bought a ball of dragon thread today for Sweet Fangs. It’s just about the only material that’s strong enough to survive more than one play session with her. I don’t know what I’m going to do when Sweet Fangs gets bigger because I’m probably going to need the whole dragon and I’m not sure mom and dad are going to be good with that.
August. Two. Five.
M&P came over today. They’re like my sisters and I can’t imagine how boring unlife would be without them. We do just about everything together and some monsters even think we’re related but we’re not. Not that it matters since we don’t really care what other monsters think anyway. We are who we are and any monster or monsters that want to try and herd us better get ready for a long miserable day. Today we weren’t worried about being herded, today was a brainstorm session. Our mission, repay Cleo de Nile and her minions for not only ruining our perfectly planned graduation prank but also for taking away part of our valuable summer vacation by “arranging” our trip to math camp. Knowing that it was Cleo who got the better of us is almost as irritating as being wet or having my fur stroked the wrong way. I can’t believe that I actually helped her when she first wanted to be a part of the Fear Squad. Cleo didn’t even know how to do a cartwheel, much less a round off. So I took her under my claw and taught her everything I knew and since I’d been doing gymnastics from the time I was a kitten I knew a lot. I finally got Cleo to the point where she started to “get it” and instead of being a liability she started contributing. I figured that for all my hard work and leadership Nefera would make me the Fear Squad captain when she graduated. Only she didn’t - she passed it onto Cleo. I can still remember what Nefera said to me when I confronted her about it. “I didn’t want Cleo to succeed - I wanted her to be humiliated but since you helped her, you get to deal with the consequences.” Then Cleo acted as if she deserved to be the captain and that she automatically knew everything there was to know about leading the Fear Squad. She should have showed some humility and stepped aside. She didn’t so now it’s up to me to teach her some new lessons and I can’t wait for class to be back in session.
August. Three. One.
There’s a meteor shower tonight, which will give us the purrrfect opportunity to practice the three D’s. Divert. Design. Demure. First I divert attention away from myself - although tonight the meteor shower should do that for me, next I design a “surprise” for my intended victim student and then after the unexpected happens I demure - “Oh my, what happened here?” More later...
Ended up scraping the three D’s tonight, mostly because the meteor shower diverted me. I was supposed to meet M&P at this coffee shop down close to the beach - it’s the only time I go to the beach since sand + water + fur = unhappy werecat - but they were late so I grabbed a catnipuccino and waited. The owner turned down the lights of the shop so it was almost dark and then the sky was falling. The ghouls showed up just as somewhere down the beach a monster started playing guitar and I said, “Just because we’ve got nine lives doesn’t mean we need to rush through this one.” And we didn’t.
Purrrfection
Ok, here is Day 5 of @sevzenweek  Zen turns into a cat. This one was really fun.
“Achoo, Achoo, Achoo!” Zen’s nose was dripping like crazy, his eyes were itching and his mouth felt like it had grown fur. He couldn’t take much more! He had already gone through an entire box of tissues, even the allergy medicine he’d taken had not helped.
“I’m sorry Hyun.” Seven said for the millionth time. He handed Zen another box of tissues and Zen yanked it out of his hands. Seven’s apple cheeks were as red as his hair. He’d showered and changed, but Zen was still sneezing up a storm. He went to get him a glass of water, his hands were clammy, he really fucked up this time. It was going to be a long time before Zen forgave him.
“Here you go babe.” He handed Zen the glass of water.
“dno dank you!” Zen looked away from Seven and curled up on the sofa, another series of sneezes escaping him. His shoulders shook and his head felt like it would explode. He was miserable.
Seven sat next to him, but Zen turned his back on him. He’d already apologized, what more did he want? Seven crossed his arms in front of him. He couldn’t change who he was. He liked cats, so what if he wanted to spend several minutes/hours at a pet store playing with them, it’s not like he’d brought them home. Except that in a way he had. All over his clothes, on his skin, in his hair. He sighed and stroked Zen’s back.
“Babe, really, I’m sorry, I won’t do it again.”
“Don’d make probossess you can’d keeb!” Zen tried to say.
“Come here.” He pulled Zen towards him, at first he resisted, but then he relented and lay on Seven’s lap. Seven stroked his hair. It felt nice, but Zen was adamant that he would stay mad at Seven for a good long while. Weeks! Days! Hours? Oh who was he kidding, he couldn’t stay mad, even over this. He felt bad that his allergy kept Seven from enjoying something, but it wasn’t like he could be allowed to have a cat. He sighed and closed his eyes, maybe if he took a nap he would feel better when he woke up.
Several days later Zen was still feeling the effects of his allergy attack. They’d cleaned the house top to bottom, Seven swore he had rid the house of his clothes, going so far as to toss them in the garbage as opposed to throwing them in the laundry room. But Zen still felt his nose itch every morning. What was stranger is he felt it even when he was not at home. Although he could always assume that someone on the street, or one of his co-workers had cat fur on them. He was beginning to be irritable and short with Seven, even though he had done nothing since the incident. Zen knew it was wrong of him, but he didn’t know who else to blame, and it had been Seven who had caused the initial allergic reaction.
He took a shower and scrubbed himself thoroughly, making sure to wash his hair and get every strand soapy. He stepped out of the shower and toweled himself off, wiping the mirror of condensation, he stared at his reflection. He was very familiar with his image, and something seemed off. He stared closer, covering every inch of his face when he noticed the oddity. There were hairs growing over his lip, strange hairs. He ran his fingers over them and they were thick, he also felt a strange sensation coming from them when he’d touched them. As he watched, they wiggled on their own, he hadn’t even moved his mouth. He jumped back from the mirror and began to notice other things. There was something protruding from the top of his head and when he lay his hands on his hair, two cat ears sprang up.
“Seven!!!!!!!” he screamed, his breathing intensifying, his heart rate quickening.
As he watched, what could only be whiskers kept growing and a fine line of fur sprouted down the back of his neck, he could feel it in a line down his spine and then the towel around his waist began to shift. Just as Seven opened the door, his towel fell off and a long bushy white tail extended behind him. His crimson eyes were large, round and desperate.
“Wh…what! Seven?!” he reached out to his lover who stood, stunned at the door, his own eyes as large as saucers.
He stepped in and took Zen into his arms. He looked down his back and saw the white line of fur that ended at the curve of his ass. He stroked Zen’s hair and couldn’t help but run his hands down the spine. Zen began to purr and they both stiffened at the sound. Zen pulled away from Seven and stared into his eyes.
“Did you? Did you do this to me?” he asked in all seriousness.
“Of course not! How would I do this?”
“But you like it don’t you? Admit it! You like me looking like this! What am I going to do?” Zen wailed.
“I…well…um…we’ll figure it out Zen.”
“I can’t look like this if I want to continue acting! What about my career? I can’t even go outside, I can’t be seen like this! Fuck! Seven! What am I going to do?” he grasped Seven’s forearms and his claws dug into his skin.
“Ah, ah, Zen, that hurts.” Zen looked at his arms and pulled his hands back. He glared at his own hands, claws in place of nails. As he stared the claws retracted and his nails were once more visible. He sighed in relief. He wondered if he could do the same for the rest. He closed his eyes and began to envision everything retracting and leaving him the same pristine specimen he was.
“What are you doing? Hyun?”
“Shut up!” he hissed. Seven closed his mouth but his hands itched to touch the velvety looking ears. He watched as Zen’s tail swished back and forth behind him. He had to bite his lip to keep from letting out an excited whine.
Slowly the ears disappeared and so did the whiskers, fur, and tail. Seven’s heart sank. “Awe.” He breathed heavily.
Zen opened his eyes and pushed Seven out of the way so he could get to the mirror. He sighed in relief as his reflection showed only what was supposed to be there. The itching in his nose was back, and his eyes were scratchy. Damn it! Was that why? Because he himself was turning into a cat? Could you be allergic to yourself? He hadn’t felt those things when he had looked like a cat. Out of curiosity, he tried to get the ears and whiskers back. They sprang back quite easily and he gasped. The itching was gone and he felt normal. Great, was he now going to feel that allergic tingle for the rest of his life if he hid all the cat stuff? Where had it come from? He closed his eyes and sighed. When he opened them he noticed Seven standing behind him, his eyes glued to his ears. Zen rolled his eyes and turned towards the shorter man.
“What? Does this seriously turn you on?” he asked, exasperated.
“Huh? No. Of course not! Pfft.” He half grinned and shrugged his shoulders. But his eyes kept sliding back to his ears. Zen grinned and crossed his shoulders, leaning against the sink.
“Really? So, I guess that means you don’t want to pet my ears. Zen wiggled them and Seven’s eyes widened.
“I…I didn’t say that.” Seven shrugged again, “I mean, if you want me to.”
“There is something seriously wrong with you!” Zen walked out of the bathroom. Seven sighed and followed him.
“Hyun, come on! How do you expect me to react? I love cats and I love you!” he mused.
Zen stopped and turned towards Seven, it certainly didn’t help that he was completely naked. Seven’s pants had steadily gotten tighter since entering the bathroom.
“This isn’t normal Seven! I’m freaking out! Can you just, keep it in your pants right now? And help me deal with this?” Zen’s eyes drowned in tears, he was clearly afraid. Seven felt like an ass. He stepped into him and took him in his arms.
“I’m sorry babe, you’re right. This has nothing to do with me. We’ll figure it out, I promise. At least you can get rid of it, that’s something.”
“I guess. You’re right.” Zen sighed and lay his head against Seven’s shoulder, feeling slightly better. After several minutes Zen finally said, “Go ahead, I know you want to.”
“No, no, it’s ok, I don’t have to.” Seven mumbled.
“Just do it!” Zen growled.
“Well, if you really want me to.” Zen rolled his eyes but said nothing.
Seven reached up and stroked Zen’s ears. They were so soft, softer than any other cat ears he had ever felt.
Zen let out a soft hum and began to purr again.
“We should, we should lay down.” Seven suggested. Zen nodded, not wanting Seven to stop. The soft rumble in his chest was comforting, and he was becoming aroused as well. Might as well enjoy his new-found ability, he wondered what Seven would do to him. He let his tail grow out and Seven groaned behind him as he watched Zen walk in front of him, his tail swishing back and forth. Zen giggled and began to run into the bedroom, jumping on the bed. Seven ran in after him, pinning him down and pulling Zen’s legs around him.
“You’re sending me mixed signals here babe.” Seven whined, nibbling on Zen’s ear.
“Have to keep you guessing, don’t I?” he laughed, digging his claws into Seven’s shoulders. He purred in his ear and Seven’s heart stopped for a beat before it thudded right through his ears.
“You are a very naughty kitty!” Seven grabbed Zen’s ponytail, pulling on it, forcing Zen’s head back, exposing his neck.
“Ahh, do I need to be punished?” he croaked.
“Mercilessly!”
