The basic conceit is that Irving survives Hickey’s attempt on his life, and during Tuunbaq attaq at the failed trial, he and Tozer end up witnessing Collins’ death together. I was thinking of doing this for the Big Bang coming up, but I’ve decided I can’t make myself write this much on a deadline lol, this is just for fun

This gives Irving a chance to actually react to his entire worldview being shaken by experiencing this moment of true human kindness followed by an attempted murder — and crucially, now the most religious character gets to see a man’s soul sucked out of his body, yipee!

I’m very intrigued by Irving/Tozer because Tozer strikes me as a character with a whole lot of guilt, and Irving, as someone who is having to rebuild his understanding of the world through the lens of his faith, is in the perfect position to give Tozer the forgiveness he needs. I’m also fascinated by how easily Tozer is led when he is really and truly scared, and I think putting Irving there instead of Hickey—especially if Irving is the only other person who saw what he saw—makes some really interesting emotional ties. On the other side of the coin, Tozer is in a position to have a really profound effect on Irving while he grapples with everything that he’s seen and experienced.

Also post the events of the fic they adopt a puppy named Penguin, because it’s MY fic and IM driving (see below the cut😭💖)

despite  what  one  may  believe,  dogday  was  the  first  to  fall  heads  over  heels  .  bobby  is  quite  oblivious  to  it  oddly  enough  .  before  they  got  together,  he  would  freeze  up  around  her  and  stutter  .

god, was  dogday  a  boyfailure  around  her  .  at  the  mere  sight  of  her,  it's  like  his  entire  confident  leader  persona  just  vanished  and  left  behind  some  nervous  lil' puppy  .  sometimes  the  others  teased  him  about  it  .  

to  add  on,  their  confession  was  ..  quite  a  mess  .  the  other  critters,  mainly  crafty  and  kickin,  planned  out  a  romantic  scene  for  them,  only  for  it  all  to  backfire  in  their  faces  .  despite  everything,  catnap  came  out  of  nowhere  as  a  last  resort  and  helped  dogday  finally  confess  .  and  well  ...  rest  is  history  !!

before  that,  dogday  would  try  to  confess,  but  they  all  failed  ...  intensely  .  bobby  didn't  mind  really  .

they  go  all  out  for  valentines  and  special  holidays  !!  i'm  talking  all  the  best  gifts  and  flowers  and  everything  you  could  imagine  !!  they  love  each  other  so  much  they  believe  he  or  she  deserves  the  world  .

they  use  every  cute  nicknames  under  the  sun  .  like  ALL  of  them  .  their  usual  ones  are  honeybear  and  sunshine  !!  

they  always  go  on  dates  .  indoor,  restauraunt,  picnic,  movie,  whatever  !!  every  day  is  a  date  day,  unless  it  is  an  day for adventure  .

dogday  is  such  a  gentleman  around  bobby  !!  she  always  gets  flowers,  every  door  is  opened  for  her  and  gets  covered  quickly  when  there  is  rain  .

they  like  to  dance  together  to  old  records  .  bobby  is  a  pretty  good  dancer,  but  dogday  struggles  a  bit,  yet  they  still  have  a  fun  time  !!

they  support  each  other  very  well  .  dogday  likes  to  listen  to  bobby's  matchmaking  plans,  while  she  admires  his  leadership  skills  .  whenever  one  feels  down,  the  other  is  always  to  comfort  by  gifts  or  by  hugs  and  kisses  .
