As somebody who fits into the punk lifestyle but not the aesthetic I am sick of these gatekeepers who care more about the aesthetic than the lifestyle after all punk is meant to unify against the power that oppresses and we can’t take the power back as the people with whiny little bitches complaining about pre-ripped jeans or the fact somebody has a fucking Pinterest board just accept that punks can come in many forms and grab a banner you whiny little shit and if somebody is just there for the aesthetic so what? It looks cool so they decide to dress that way simple as you have more important things to worry about than how somebody wants to look

Sometimes I very much miss the carefree life of a wondering punk yet I still wouldn't trade it for what I have in my life now. Parenting is overwhelming. There are good days and there are bad days. I'm a step parent and it is a struggle a lot because most often I don't get viewed as a parental figure by the other half. It's frustrating and sometimes I feel like I'm pounding my head against the wall. I am here to support my love and his children who are very much my own because I have been in their lives since they both were still in diapers. They don't know life without me in it.

Most of my friends from afar (previously places I have lived) have been posting pictures of all being together both PA and OH and with their little fams. I want to take my fam to those things too but when your partner has severe anxiety and an ex wife that is super controlling and manipulative to her kids and tries to be that way with him it's hard to get them to go, any where. I know I'd be able to go off on my own yet I struggle with feeling guilty of leaving him alone with the task of kids, pets and house.

Yesterday I had planned for all of us to meet up with a friend in Buffalo to go see the new minions movie but that quickly got canceled when the kids arrived in the morning. Our son, who is 6, showed up with his mother with a soda in hand at 8am and saying she said he doesn't have to eat breakfast. Well the soda was immediately taking away and it was stated he was going to eat fruit and eat healthy and that he can't just eat sugar. Which is what I guess he ate all day the day before and had a terrible time sleeping. He instantly went into disrespect mode, his mom said bye with a freaking smirk on her face and the kid was just awful for the first four hours of being with us. He spent an hour of it in his room. The whole episode ended up ruining all four of our days.
