The Sequel
Hah, okay-
I'm sure most of you forgot about this little fic, the one dubbed "Punk Rock", though I come back with exciting news; just a moment ago, I managed to upload chapter one of the second part. I was hit with unexpected inspiration bunnies, and I simply had to get it out, no matter what it took. This entire segment makes my tail wag, considerably fast dare I say.
I do hope you come to enjoy it, so without much further ado, I present to ashes to ashes (dust to dust) of Punk Rock. It's a direct followup of the first part after Randy was injured by one of McFist's bots and he's unexpectedly awoken in a strange place...
Who knows what might happen next?

Here are my latest concepts of Cassie! Her design hasn't changed much, so I've reused some of my old sketches of her to put these together. I've decided she's the one who gets to wear those extra hi Converse (sorry Emma. You have the iconic checkered Vans though!).
Cassie Pawssom is Emma's best friend, and the drummer in Scream At The Moon. Despite her great love of fantasy - she is currently going through her vampire romance novel phase, as we can see - she is pragmatic in her day-to-day life and thinks through every decision with great care, though she can be too cautious at times. However, her good sense has also been what has allowed her to talk her friends out of some very bad ideas, thus preventing a whole lot of trouble. Aside from her reputation for being responsible, she is also very caring and sincere, a true friend whom you can always count on.
Rock & Roar 2 will go public after the current Rock & Roar comic ends. The story takes place 20 years after the first one, in the year 2006; a time of MySpace, pop punk, and the third wave of emo.

BECAUSE THE "MAD MAX" SAGA ALWAYS DID HAVE HARDCORE PUNK CRED -- HERE'S THE PROOF.
NOTE: I understand "Furiosa" finally came out today, which is also pretty kool. And so the "Mad Max" saga lives on over 40 years later.
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on D.O.A.’s Joe Keithley, a.k.a., "Joey Shithead," rhythm guitarist/vocalist of Vancouver hardcore punk band D.O.A. (alongside an overjoyed fan), unknown venue, c. early '80s. 📸: Dina Douglass.
"D.O.A.'s Joey Shithead (Joey Keithley) currently serves as a city councilor in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. I don’t remember where I shot this, but the guy who jumped on stage looks ecstatic."

Fun fact about me and that last tweet.
I actually saw that she was responding to the criticism on quote retweets and replies, so I gambled on actually -- GENUINELY -- asking a question through a Quote Retweet when she was active.
I asked (paraphrasing, I don't have a screenshot sadly): "Genuine question, I want to know why old rock 'n' rollers that were transgressive and used to not fall for the fear mongering of politicans/media are now falling for it hook line and sinker."
Obviously, I got no reply -- but what's interesting is that I couldn't even screenshot my QRT after a few minutes of posting because not only did she not reply, she BLOCKED ME straight up LMAOOOO. She blocked all the other people who called her out for her behavior and kept ONLY replying to people who had easily mockable or refutable responses.
Now, she's a pro-trump, pro-israel, terf and generally anti-woke whiny old lady.
just found out cherrie curie of the runaways is a transphobe… we really can’t have nice things…

NEW MIL-LIMINAL UPDATE? Yes. We continue the saga of Sully embarrassing the heck out of Carrie at the Punk Rock Show!
Read it on Tapas
Or Webtoon
What is Mil-Liminal? A Webcomic about love, loss and learning to live with ghosts of your past. Caro is a world famous podcaster with some pretty big secrets. John is a small town barista with a felony record. A chance encounter leads these former highschool sweethearts into a reconnection neither of them were ready for, and it wont take long to figure out the real life monsters that plague them both are nothing compared to the horror of falling in love.

Have you seen the movie gifted? It never fails to make me cry, Chris does so well in it and so does Makena god that girl knows how to act.
Honestly one of my favourite movies to date, father daughter duos are my fave. Chris acting as a parental figure is so sweet!! And who doesn't love a rough exterior guy who's good with kids.
It always loops me around to thinking about Steve having a kid dropped on him and having to navigate being a father, maybe a one night stand turned baby mama 9 months later who wants nothing to do with a baby.
Steve would be such a good dad too, I know he'd want the best for his kid. He'd have a big freak out initially and struggle but once he gets used to it a bit more he just loves it. He loves his kid and he knew that as soon as he laid eyes on the kid but now he actually has time to sit and just FEEL it. His little baby has his eyes and it makes him want to sit and cry.
One winter soldier saga later, Bucky is back and finds out Steve has a kid, maybe 2 or 3 at this point. Bucky is nervous staying with Steve while he's healing to begin with but with a kid in the house? No way. Steve manages to wrangle him to stay and Bucky and the baby actually form a little bit of a cute connection.
When Steve and Bucky find their romantic side again and Bucky is free from the hydra shit in his head, they really form their own little family. And god the domesticity of it all makes me want to cry and sob and cry. They'd both be such good dads and sooo protective, the best protected kid around I'm sure you can imagine.
I can totally see Steve and Bucky being the type of parents to be anxious messes when their baby starts school and their kid is as confident as ever, not even looking back as they run off to find friends.
Ragggh it just makes me wanna cry.
Parent Stucky for life 💔💔‼️‼️
I haven't seen Gifted (note my tag "watch? party?" lol). But, from the clips/gifs on Tumblr, it seems really sweet and like, yeah, they both do wonderfully in it!
Tumblr media
Even though I haven't seen it, it's still wild to me whenever I realize just how old McKenna is now, haha. Like, she's still acting, but most often, because I'm not an avid consumer of movies/TV/series, I come across her in the music scene and like... when did this little girl turn into a teenage punk rock icon? 💀💀
I love it.
"And who doesn't love a rough exterior guy who's good with kids."
I have no idea! I don't even want kids personally, or really like kids all that much (I didn't grow up around younger kids and so they're a total mystery to me, lol) and it still gets me, lmao. Especially when it's Chris and/or stucky.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Steve would be such a good dad, yeah!! He'd take after his mama and be great at it <3 Definitely an adjustment, too, but he can handle it.
"He loves his kid and he knew that as soon as he laid eyes on the kid but now he actually has time to sit and just FEEL it. His little baby has his eyes and it makes him want to sit and cry."
AW
I am so amused by the idea that Steve either continues to have accidental children with one night stands because, one, that's just funny to me, two, how carried away can you get, wouldn't you learn your lesson after one misstep, no matter how much you love your baby, wrap that super dick up, Steven, and, three, not so funny, but I can actually see that happening because if this is canon Steve, why would people stop at trying to steal his blood? They'd probably also want his super serum babies, too. Then, maybe it's not that he's forgetting to wrap it before he taps it, but those pretty gals are poking holes in his condoms, acting as more heads of HYDRA 👀
So, my addition to this is me saying more kids. Not just one. By the time Bucky shows up, I want him to have two or three, haha. Like, Bucky is so fucking confused. He's like, there is one child... okay, there are two?... wait. THREE?! STEVEN, I TOLD YOU TO NOT DO ANYTHING STUPID UNTIL I GOT BACK. WHY DO YOU HAVE THREE OFFSPRING. AND--w-without me? 👉🏻👈🏻
Oh my god, though, yeah, Bucky is reeling from that. He doesn't know what to make of it. He is very much refusing at first, but I think it would end up being really good for him.
Besides, it's cute. Steve feels very, very domestic with a kid (or two) and Bucky in his house.
Exactly! The domesticity! Just their little family. Adorable <3
Oh, for sure, they're anxiety ridden parents. They both got to therapy ('cause god they need it), and they go to therapy together, and their therapist is constantly, gently reminding them that they shouldn't be so overprotective or helicoptering their kid(s). Like, sure, it's logical for the kid(s) of Captian America and The Winter Soldier, but it's only logical to a certain extent. Their baby needs to be able to have alone time and develop their own independence, too. They're teaching their kid(s) and learning themselves, too.
If you're still in the mood for kid fics, might I suggest:
"Setting: In A Honeymoon" by me
and
"you will always be my favorite form of loving" by thiccbuckybarnes
and that's it because I don't normally read kid fics myself, haha

Yes. on one hand I do agree with the criticism that Togetoge’s music is relatively tonally inconsistent with the show. I think that it should be even like, 25% more punk to pull off the idea they were going for. Good J-Rock with depressing lyrics and a banger keyboardist is not that uncommon. it’s very strange to see them framed as a moderately punk anti-traditional underdog, when Cycle of Sorrow is objectively more punk sounding than any of Togetoge’s. Hell, Zombie Land Saga’s Gekkou Survive is still lapping it by virtue of having a drum solo. It ultimately contributes to Girls Band Cry feeling less like a show about punk rebellion against society and more about standard societal rudeness as a form of personal liberation. Although I personally would argue that is a strength of the show and is why I adore it so deeply, I can’t fault anyone for being ultimately disappointed with it.
on the other hand it’s my exact favorite type of music, and so every song immediately became an instant favorite, and if any of you say anything bad about it I’m going to cry

Band Recommendations Part 1 - 2000’s Garage Rock Revival
I know y’all love Arctic Monkeys, The Libertines, Interpol, and the Strokes, but this genre has so much to offer. Here are some of my favorite bands and some info on them.
1. Franz Ferdinand
I fuck with these guys heavy. My favorite band of all time.
Genre(s) - art rock, post-punk, dance-rock
Franz Ferdinand is a Scottish band that was pretty popular in the early 2000s, but people don’t know much from them other than “Take Me Out” or “This Fire” from their debut album.
Their visual style is pretty unique, with their music videos from their debut album and You Could Have It So Much Better taking inspo from Bauhaus and 1960’s ish European advertising.
Their first two albums are super consistent thematically, and their third album, Tonight, has a bit more of a dance-y vibe but is still recognizably Franz Ferdinand. I honestly can’t recommend this band enough.
They have a new album, The Human Fear, coming out January 2025.
Favorite Songs - “The Fallen”, “Bite Hard”, “Darts of Pleasure”, and “Evil Eye”
2. Maxïmo Park
Genre(s) - electronic rock, post-punk, alt rock, indie rock
The fact that these guys never made it to the same level of mainstream as Franz Ferdinand or Arctic Monkeys is tragic.
Honestly, I don’t really know what to say about this band other than that they sound like garage rock injected with psychedelic rock. I don’t even know, but they are incredible
Their first album, A Certain Trigger, is absolutely amazing. It’s fast paced and has literally zero skips. The second album, Unearthly Pleasures, definitely has a more rock sound, but is still fucking awesome.
They just came out with a new album, Stream of Life, a couple months ago.
Favorite Songs - “Graffiti”, “Quiz Show Clue”, and “The Unshockable”
3. Dirty Pretty Things
Genre(s) - indie, post punk
This band was a one-off project from Carl Barât of the Libertines, but I wish we had seen more of them. The band has a weirdly nautical, almost shanty-ish sound mixed with the garage punk of the Libertines. They released one album in 2006 so it’s not a huge commitment.
Favorite Tracks - “Bang Bang You’re Dead” and “Bloodthirsty Bastards”
4. The Fratellis
Genre(s) - alt rock, indie rock
Definitely one of the more popular ones on this list, but they are totally unlike any other band. They have some odd rockabilly influence and a knack for narrative, making their style of music totally unique.
Costello Music, their first and most popular album, is absolutely amazing. Don’t think there’s a single skip. I personally have t listened to much of their recent stuff, but I cannot recommend their first few albums enough.
Favorite Songs - “Chelsea Dagger”, “Creepin’ Up The Backstairs”, and “Whisky Saga”
5. Klaxons
Genre(s) - new wave, dance-punk, electronic rock
I love this band. They have a sort of chaotic sound that meshes so well with the electronic dance influence.
They only released 3 albums, the most recent from a decade ago, but their music definitely stands the test of time.
Favorite Songs - “Totem on the Timeline” and “Golden Skans”
6. We Are Scientists
Genre(s) - post punk, alt rock, pop punk
Another great band, totally underrated. They feel like if the Strokes went to Hot Topic. They totally have that pop-punk sound, very reminiscent of Fall Out Boy or early Twenty-One Pilots.
I haven’t listened to their whole discography, but their first album, With Love And Squalor, is absolutely fabulous. It’s super high-energy and lyrically fun.
Favorite Songs - “Inaction” and “This Scene is Dead”

I'm so charmed by this random little saga.
"It feels a little strange to hear Patti Smith, poet laureate of punk rock, expounding on her love of the Sunday evening Inspector Morse spinoff Endeavour between songs, but here we are. Confined to her hotel room on Friday night by a heavy Brighton sea mist, she says – “I couldn’t see shit” – her evening was enlivened by watching an episode of the period detective drama on ITV3. Over on her Instagram page, she’s even been ruminating on the philosophical qualities of the show’s dialogue." (The Guardian, 2018) "I recently saw the first episode of the new season of 'Endeavour' and got to meet Shaun Evans. It's killing me waiting for the other episodes. I'm surviving by watching 'George Gently' and 'Vera', with Brenda Blethyn. Oh, it's fantastic." - Patti Smith (2019)

Heyyyyyy, I don't much about you either, so I've created a little ask list!
What type of music do you like? Which artists do you enjoy listening too?
I'm also kind of curious, which fandoms do happen to exist in >:3
Which instrument that you have is your favourite instrument to play?
Which epic song and saga do youike the most, and why do you favour these ones?
(This one is very extremely only answer if you want) are you LQBTQIA+, and if so, in what way?
The same rules apply here! You don't have to answer anything you feel uncomfortable answering, and just have fun!
oooo thanks for the ask!!! :33
i have a very extensive music taste, but it really narrows down to like four genres: pop-rock-punk music, like mcr, noahfinnce, and green day; pop artists, like chappell roan, taylor swift, and olivia rodrigo; musicals like epic (duh lol), dear evan hansen, and hamilton; and soft music like cavetown, lyn lapid, and madilyn mei! this isn't even a full list, just the basics lol
quite a few fandoms! musicals, pjo and the riordanverse, plain greek mythology (though i only really know the basics), house md (tv show), silly indie cartoons like hazbin hotel and metal family! also a lot more, but this is js off the top of my head :3
omg idk.... maybe clarinet? or guitar? thats a hard one lol. guitar and piano are very versatile, but flute and clarinet are just fun to play, yk?
ooo good question. i think my favorite sagas are thunder and vengeance (absolute bangers all the way), but idk about a fave song! i think my favorites to sing along to are ruthlessness and no longer you, but the hermes songs are always the best
i am!! mostly the a, lol. im oriented aroace and some kind of demigirl? idrk, but lately ive been question being enby
thanks so much for the asks!! sorry for the rambles, that's just kinda how i am lol

Stewart Home - The Assault On Culture
Stewart home - Cranked Up Really high
Stewart Home is a writer, artist, cultural critic, something something, something.
Because I am lazy here is a brief description from his Wikipedia page:
Kevin Llewellyn Callan (born 24 March 1962),[1] better known as Stewart Home, is an English artist, filmmaker, writer, pamphleteer, art historian, and activist. His novels include the non-narrative 69 Things to Do with a Dead Princess (2002), and the re-imagining of the 1960s in Tainted Love (2005). Earlier parodistic pulp fictions work includes Pure Mania, Red London, No Pity, Cunt, and Defiant Pose which pastiche the work of 1970s British skinhead pulp novel writer Richard Allen and combine it with pornography, political agit-prop, and historical references to punk rock and avant-garde art.
What I have here is a couple of his books for your perusal.
The first is The Assault on Culture: Utopian currents from Lettrisme to Class War
A history of the What followed the Surrealist movements and how it affected culture.
From Stewart Home's Website where you can also read this for free:
This book was written in 1987, things have moved on since then (both for the author and in the world), so please bear that in mind....
Anyway If you want to read it you can get it from my Google Drive HERE
The Second Book is CRANKED UP REALLY HIGH: GENRE THEORY & PUNK ROCK
The title is pretty self evident but here is the blurb from Goodreads:
A lot of ink has been split on the subject of punk rock in recent years, most of it by arty-farty trendies who want to make the music intellectually respectable. Cranked Up Really High is different. It isn't published by a university press and it gives short shrift to the idea that the roots of punk rock can be traced back to 'avant garde' art movements. As well as discussing sixties garage rock and the British, American and Finnish punk scenes, Home devotes whole chapters to deconstructing Riot Grrl, Oil and the sorry saga of Nazi bonehead band Skrewdriver. This book champions the super-dumb sleazebag thud of The Ramones, The Stooges, The Vibrators, The Art Attacks, The Snivelling Shits, The Lurkers, The Queers, The Germs, The Child Molesters, The Ants and The Blaggers.
Also you can read this on his website or you can get it from my Google Drive HERE
He has his own spin on things but if you find these things worthy of reading about he is worth reading.
